Jay: Okay, welcome to Crowdpleasers. this is just a Wii Taster. Coming up in the next four episodes, we have The Wailing and The Blob in time for Halloween. Actually, more than one movie with the blob. We're covering the the the 1958 original, we're covering the 1972 sequel, we're covering the 1988 remake, and we're covering the Inspired by the similar, the the horror movie that riffs on it a little bit called The Stuff, also from the 80s. That's all in one episode because we're insane. after that we have Ricky the story of Ricky, which is a good fun episode about a very, very fun film. and then after that, just in time for Thanksgiving, we have a a wonderful, heartwarming story about westward expansion called Ravenus. So if you guys wanna watch along as you listen to the episodes, there's your homework. Go out and get them. and I'm just gonna follow this up with a few wee tasters of some of the things to come.
Johnny Shaw: Yeah, it's a subject that I want to talk about. Is the it's so bad it's good. Right? That classification, because there's a whole bunch, if you look online at B movie, people will say, like, these are the great B movies, and they'll put the room, Plan 9, Burbit, like it's the idea that that B movies are bad, and that the B stands for bad. And it's just it's it's just not it really is just not even the spirit of the thing. it's so bad it's good just means that you're probably under thirty and you still need to feel like you're cool. So you still need to tell people that you know it's kind of horribly bad but you enjoy it.
Jay: they're turtles who get mutated by ooze and turn into like human-sized bipedal. They can talk. They've got posable thumbs. Is their ability to become great ninjas? part of the mutation or is it just incidental? Is the mutation just their physical form? it also help make them great ninjas? could any turtle learn to be a great ninja? It just happens that these ones are also mutated.
Johnny Shaw: are you asking me that or are you thinking out loud?
Jay: I guess so, I guess so.
Johnny Shaw: Well they have a they have what what god, what's the name of their it's not Splinter. Yeah yeah. They have Splinter,
Jay: Splinter. Splinter.
Johnny Shaw: that's they've been trained.
Jay: So if I start, I mean I'm 46 if I started right, I don't have nothing else to do.
Johnny Shaw: Well, I said anybody, but you know, I mean not you. no, I don't think this movie has any level of sensitivity. I think it I don't I don't I think I think you're a very kind man, you're very nice, you're very generous offering that explanation, but it's absolute horseshit.
Jay: By the way, dear listener, I feel like this is something I will ha I will warn people as we come along. if you are a person who cannot watch a movie if a dog gets killed, don't watch this movie.
Johnny Shaw: Also goats and chickens. Like
Jay: I feel like I I encounter less people who have that problem
Johnny Shaw: Like Wow. Yeah, I didn't I didn't I didn't know whether like yeah, if I guess if you can eat
