Tetsicola hit the top sul glasses the lap.
25
00:02:07.000 --> 00:02:09.919
That's right, you heard what they said. Two full glasses
26
00:02:09.960 --> 00:02:13.439
of sparkling Petsi from one big twelve ounce bottle. You're
27
00:02:13.479 --> 00:02:16.759
getting an extra glass ball. And what a delicious glass ball.
28
00:02:17.120 --> 00:02:19.400
The most refreshing, delightful cola.
29
00:02:19.240 --> 00:02:20.520
That ever tickled your taste.
30
00:02:21.000 --> 00:02:24.439
You can't top pepsi singy flavor. And that big, big
31
00:02:24.479 --> 00:02:28.719
bottle saves you money, goes twice as far. Pepsi's America's big,
32
00:02:28.879 --> 00:02:32.960
big favorite at America's bigot colavan. You So, why take
33
00:02:33.080 --> 00:02:39.159
less when Tetsi's bet. Whenever you reach for refreshments, remember why.
34
00:02:39.000 --> 00:02:44.039
Take glassless Pepsi's bet? And now to counterspy.
35
00:02:51.120 --> 00:02:54.680
A few weeks ago, a swarthy faced, heely eyed Chimmith
36
00:02:55.280 --> 00:02:58.479
was in his laboratory in San Francisco. He was going
37
00:02:58.520 --> 00:03:03.080
through his meal. Suddenly he stopped. There was a picture
38
00:03:03.120 --> 00:03:03.639
post card.
39
00:03:04.400 --> 00:03:08.280
He read it, Sir Jason has been seriously ill and
40
00:03:08.319 --> 00:03:09.439
I'm going for a vacation.
41
00:03:10.560 --> 00:03:13.560
Won't you join me? Aunt Mary?
42
00:03:14.479 --> 00:03:19.159
Slowly, the chemist count of the Commas the periods.
43
00:03:18.199 --> 00:03:21.400
Even the placing of the writing. Then he picked up
44
00:03:21.439 --> 00:03:27.800
the phone.
45
00:03:26.319 --> 00:03:28.759
Tell us a Brown, I'm resigning the serious sickness in
46
00:03:28.800 --> 00:03:29.319
our family.
47
00:03:32.120 --> 00:03:36.000
In a luxurious apartment in Chicago, a small, attractive, fiery
48
00:03:36.039 --> 00:03:39.759
young woman and a negligee was reading a picture post carrier.
49
00:03:40.319 --> 00:03:45.039
Dear Magna, I'm not expected to live long. Want you
50
00:03:45.199 --> 00:04:02.199
with me? Aunt Mary Well Bruce, Oh, I'm glad I
51
00:04:02.240 --> 00:04:04.759
caught you before you went to the bank eating. The
52
00:04:04.800 --> 00:04:08.319
doctor just told me the result of my examination. He says,
53
00:04:08.360 --> 00:04:10.639
it's definitely a breakdown that I must leave and get
54
00:04:10.639 --> 00:04:15.800
away from everything. So far, yes, I'm talking. Well, as
55
00:04:15.800 --> 00:04:17.399
soon as I know, i'll be I'll let you know.
56
00:04:17.519 --> 00:04:33.199
But so far I've got to be alone.
57
00:04:38.879 --> 00:04:41.680
Oh that's this drawing room is real chummy with you
58
00:04:41.759 --> 00:04:43.639
and Magne and I back together again.
59
00:04:43.759 --> 00:04:45.800
I wish you stop to dress.
60
00:04:46.439 --> 00:04:48.800
You two acted very promptly on your postal card.
61
00:04:49.120 --> 00:04:50.879
If they were to stay on this train or we
62
00:04:50.920 --> 00:04:52.279
get to Mexico, miss addressment.
63
00:04:52.480 --> 00:04:53.639
Yeah, that's correct, Jensen.
64
00:04:54.560 --> 00:04:56.240
All right, now we all take a look at this
65
00:04:56.399 --> 00:04:57.240
map of Mexico.
66
00:04:59.160 --> 00:05:00.519
Very very Paine.
67
00:05:01.680 --> 00:05:05.040
Now, I think I begin to understand. I found an
68
00:05:05.120 --> 00:05:09.639
article the newspaper is a new uranium deposit in Mexico.
69
00:05:09.920 --> 00:05:12.600
That's why I love you. Magnet word intuition.
70
00:05:13.000 --> 00:05:14.279
You're singing, yes, sir.
71
00:05:14.800 --> 00:05:18.480
Remember I'm here too. Have these fine black lines, they're the.
72
00:05:18.519 --> 00:05:22.360
Mountains now over here, right in the center of these mountains.
73
00:05:22.839 --> 00:05:25.360
This is a plot, soau the Mexican city of.
74
00:05:25.399 --> 00:05:30.800
Victoria calculation is too small even to be listed that
75
00:05:31.000 --> 00:05:33.639
tom Victoria may be one of the most important cities
76
00:05:33.639 --> 00:05:34.240
of Mexico.
77
00:05:34.600 --> 00:05:37.839
Is the uranium deposit owned by the Mexican government or
78
00:05:37.879 --> 00:05:38.439
by whom?
79
00:05:38.720 --> 00:05:41.439
I'm not sure yet, but I believe the deposit may
80
00:05:41.480 --> 00:05:44.279
be on land owned by several individuals.
81
00:05:44.600 --> 00:05:47.399
How can we promper, sir? What is it a tele
82
00:05:47.560 --> 00:05:48.079
foreign nation?
83
00:05:48.399 --> 00:05:52.439
The information concerning the percentage of uranium or the method
84
00:05:52.480 --> 00:05:55.959
of refining the uranium.
85
00:05:55.360 --> 00:05:57.360
The contract with Mexico to ship part of the.
86
00:05:57.399 --> 00:05:58.279
Order of other countries?
87
00:05:58.600 --> 00:05:59.720
Did the handle of sider?
88
00:05:59.759 --> 00:06:02.480
Could well, Jesson go.
89
00:06:02.480 --> 00:06:04.360
Up to the club car and order us all chicken
90
00:06:04.399 --> 00:06:05.360
sandwiches and coffee.
91
00:06:06.839 --> 00:06:08.199
One you rather have a high ball?
92
00:06:08.480 --> 00:06:09.839
You heard what I said, Jensen?
93
00:06:10.319 --> 00:06:17.519
All right? Sorry, I have.
94
00:06:17.800 --> 00:06:20.519
A premonition about Jensen too.
95
00:06:21.240 --> 00:06:22.279
You're right again.
96
00:06:23.519 --> 00:06:27.879
Since we've worked together last year's been drinking heavily and.
97
00:06:27.959 --> 00:06:30.879
One whole drink is apt to talk too much.
98
00:06:31.360 --> 00:06:33.759
It should be easy to dispose of him in Mexico
99
00:06:33.959 --> 00:06:34.920
by an accident.
100
00:06:36.120 --> 00:06:39.160
Now you and I you must study.
101
00:06:38.879 --> 00:06:42.680
This map with Mexico. Keep you live in a little
102
00:06:42.680 --> 00:06:43.920
hotel in the discharge.
103
00:06:52.759 --> 00:06:55.879
Come in, missus Peters counters five plane one bomb to Mexico.
104
00:06:56.519 --> 00:07:00.199
Victoria is about forty miles north of the uranium discovery.
105
00:07:01.160 --> 00:07:02.439
You don't want to say Victoria.
106
00:07:02.480 --> 00:07:04.600
There's another town forty miles to the south of.
107
00:07:04.560 --> 00:07:06.160
The uranium field of Meta.
108
00:07:06.920 --> 00:07:08.560
You wouldn't know how to can get rooms there in
109
00:07:08.639 --> 00:07:09.360
a ramcouse.
110
00:07:09.519 --> 00:07:11.240
That would be fun for a while.
111
00:07:11.279 --> 00:07:13.680
We want to keep under cover. That's all.
112
00:07:15.399 --> 00:07:18.319
Our number of theaters. I'm applying to Mexico at your request.
113
00:07:18.639 --> 00:07:20.160
I brought along this map of Mexico.
114
00:07:20.199 --> 00:07:24.519
Masaani like to show you the publicity that's gotten of
115
00:07:24.519 --> 00:07:26.879
the papers about a uranium deposit in Mexico.
116
00:07:26.920 --> 00:07:28.160
It certainly scouted something.
117
00:07:28.600 --> 00:07:31.800
M What does the reports on the Mexican beliefs say
118
00:07:31.800 --> 00:07:32.079
about it?
119
00:07:32.160 --> 00:07:35.680
The sport said that person's a questionable character. Were flocking
120
00:07:35.680 --> 00:07:36.279
to Victoria.
121
00:07:37.160 --> 00:07:38.920
Victoria, that's right here on the map.
122
00:07:39.560 --> 00:07:40.040
Mm hmm.
123
00:07:40.360 --> 00:07:42.959
Unless I'm is my guest farm agents are swarming there
124
00:07:43.000 --> 00:07:44.079
like flies to my lapsus.
125
00:07:45.759 --> 00:07:47.680
What are you talking about this for me?
126
00:07:48.079 --> 00:07:48.279
Yes?
127
00:07:48.439 --> 00:07:49.759
You, Oh I am.
128
00:07:50.240 --> 00:07:53.839
I was thinking of a funny story. You've got something
129
00:07:53.920 --> 00:07:54.959
up your sleeve.
130
00:07:55.360 --> 00:07:57.399
Somehow, beaters, I have a hunt the hunts.
131
00:07:57.399 --> 00:07:59.560
There are going to be some very interesting development in
132
00:07:59.600 --> 00:08:01.839
those within the next few days.
133
00:08:16.759 --> 00:08:19.480
There, it's muffin passes keeps Magnet.
134
00:08:19.360 --> 00:08:24.519
The worry, not you. How are you making personally?
135
00:08:26.279 --> 00:08:28.959
I'm playing the horse to the top.
136
00:08:29.839 --> 00:08:32.200
Then we can get a good looking from uranium deposit
137
00:08:32.279 --> 00:08:39.039
down there on the plateau. That's a Jason pass Until
138
00:08:39.120 --> 00:08:44.600
now you're right ahead. Oh that you get ahead, Magnet,
139
00:08:45.320 --> 00:08:50.200
hold on, he's far enough ahead.
140
00:08:54.519 --> 00:09:00.480
It's past is very now and very steep and very rocky.
141
00:09:01.200 --> 00:09:06.360
Pecure intuition is uncanny, Magnets. Younton knows nothing of a saddle.
142
00:09:07.240 --> 00:09:09.519
When we get to the top, get off and tell
143
00:09:09.600 --> 00:09:13.440
him you'll title the saddle good instead.
144
00:09:13.720 --> 00:09:14.240
Loosen it.
145
00:09:14.879 --> 00:09:17.240
The horse must be headed down this path.
146
00:09:17.799 --> 00:09:18.759
That's the right moment.
147
00:09:18.919 --> 00:09:23.519
I will accidentally trick the horse with my magdancs the
148
00:09:23.559 --> 00:09:27.200
hot saddle Already. As soon as I get a good
149
00:09:27.200 --> 00:09:29.240
look at the location down there, I'll know how.
150
00:09:29.159 --> 00:09:33.000
To operate United States. Perhaps she coul agents down here too.
151
00:09:33.559 --> 00:09:37.120
Botheribly, they're here already, the Mexican secret.
152
00:09:36.759 --> 00:09:37.320
Police ho.
153
00:09:40.879 --> 00:09:42.039
Hey to report the two.
154
00:09:42.039 --> 00:09:45.600
All right, look down there in the valley. Now those glasses.
155
00:09:46.840 --> 00:09:48.519
I'm going to get off and pick the girls on
156
00:09:48.600 --> 00:09:49.039
your saddle.
157
00:09:49.159 --> 00:09:50.799
Jason's loose danger.
158
00:09:51.480 --> 00:09:54.519
Well, if your saddle put to one side, it will
159
00:09:54.600 --> 00:09:57.399
throw you on your head and under the horse's feet.
160
00:09:58.360 --> 00:09:59.840
Oh, lons of dirt.
161
00:10:00.600 --> 00:10:03.000
Look at the size of a smokestack from that shack,
162
00:10:03.080 --> 00:10:06.120
and I can see high fences.
163
00:10:07.080 --> 00:10:10.000
Im God, it looks to me like money. It's just tuned.
164
00:10:10.559 --> 00:10:14.240
It's like the start of a tremendous operation, could be
165
00:10:14.320 --> 00:10:16.919
one of the largest uranium operations in the world.
166
00:10:17.080 --> 00:10:18.960
Let me tear your horse is head around this way
167
00:10:18.960 --> 00:10:19.879
against time.
168
00:10:21.639 --> 00:10:23.240
Not the only one who had down here to get
169
00:10:23.240 --> 00:10:28.360
information to sell to foreign countries already recognized several other operators.
170
00:10:28.600 --> 00:10:30.799
Would you take your nice dress and cut off that
171
00:10:30.960 --> 00:10:32.799
step and that's for it?
172
00:10:33.120 --> 00:10:33.799
Or story?
173
00:10:34.240 --> 00:10:39.600
Why give my prop insight your horse? This one kiss.
174
00:10:43.480 --> 00:10:44.919
Stoppage, stoppage.
175
00:10:47.080 --> 00:10:49.360
He's swaying from side to side.
176
00:10:50.159 --> 00:10:53.240
There he goes, stay done.
177
00:10:53.080 --> 00:10:54.279
Longer than that, he would?
178
00:10:56.799 --> 00:10:59.440
Well, you'll take the pass back on the other side
179
00:10:59.480 --> 00:11:01.799
of the mountain. That's why I told Jason not to
180
00:11:01.799 --> 00:11:04.080
be seen with its breakfast.
181
00:11:04.200 --> 00:11:06.279
Who owns that land down there? Whether you ran in
182
00:11:06.360 --> 00:11:08.879
the positive, they want to talk you about Magnet.
183
00:11:09.759 --> 00:11:12.240
Part of the land is owned by an American, Harold P.
184
00:11:12.480 --> 00:11:13.120
Sturgis.
185
00:11:13.200 --> 00:11:16.200
Oh, we've expected to arrive in a few days.
186
00:11:16.600 --> 00:11:18.960
I want you to meet him, make him like you.
187
00:11:19.840 --> 00:11:21.279
I think that will be possible.
188
00:11:21.720 --> 00:11:24.039
We've got to use him to get into that carefully
189
00:11:24.039 --> 00:11:26.720
sensed deposit. We've got to get a look at the
190
00:11:26.759 --> 00:11:27.919
plans and reports are there.
191
00:11:28.600 --> 00:11:29.440
It is possible.
192
00:11:30.200 --> 00:11:32.240
We've got to get control of his land.
193
00:11:52.240 --> 00:11:53.399
Dave, I'm mad, boiling.
194
00:11:53.720 --> 00:11:55.440
I just saw one of the coldest murders, and I
195
00:11:55.519 --> 00:11:56.679
was helpless to do a thing about it.
196
00:11:56.759 --> 00:11:58.480
I thought you were about a high cliff all day.
197
00:11:58.519 --> 00:11:58.879
I was.
198
00:11:59.120 --> 00:12:00.279
That's I'm comfortable in the old is.
199
00:12:00.360 --> 00:12:02.279
When a girl, a beautiful girl, and two men came.
200
00:12:02.240 --> 00:12:04.039
Riding up her file on the Uranium feel like we
201
00:12:04.039 --> 00:12:04.840
thought we would.
202
00:12:04.679 --> 00:12:07.600
Yes glasses and everything, but this girl she loosened the saddle.
203
00:12:07.600 --> 00:12:07.840
Girls.
204
00:12:07.960 --> 00:12:10.039
One of the men got the horse headed down the
205
00:12:10.039 --> 00:12:11.919
steep trail, and then the other man picked the horse
206
00:12:11.960 --> 00:12:14.960
with his knife the horse ran headline down the trail.
207
00:12:14.799 --> 00:12:17.279
And the saddles flipped yield him out right. The other
208
00:12:17.320 --> 00:12:18.240
two didn't go down the street.
209
00:12:18.240 --> 00:12:21.679
If there wasn't any questions after they left, I went down.
210
00:12:23.519 --> 00:12:24.440
Don't ask me anymore.
211
00:12:25.559 --> 00:12:27.240
You weren't near enough to hear what was said. Now
212
00:12:27.279 --> 00:12:28.320
I was one hundred oars away.
213
00:12:29.799 --> 00:12:32.080
I'm looking forward to meeting up with that girl. The
214
00:12:32.159 --> 00:12:32.639
man too.
215
00:12:33.120 --> 00:12:35.240
I think you're going to have that chance by tomorrow
216
00:12:35.360 --> 00:12:36.159
Night's wonderful.
217
00:12:36.600 --> 00:12:37.039
I'll beat it.
218
00:12:38.200 --> 00:12:40.519
The Mexican police are cooperating to the limit. We've got
219
00:12:40.519 --> 00:12:43.360
the town of Vittoria covered every inch. All the liquor
220
00:12:43.399 --> 00:12:45.440
glasses from the cafes are taking to the kitchens and
221
00:12:45.480 --> 00:12:46.480
immediately fingerprinted.
222
00:12:47.159 --> 00:12:50.360
Now this file here full of fuched fingerprints, and.
223
00:12:50.360 --> 00:12:52.759
Our walking in file show that many of these.
224
00:12:52.600 --> 00:12:55.759
Are wanted characters. All our pictures, thousands of feet of
225
00:12:55.840 --> 00:12:58.399
film have been taken of all foreigners who come to Victoria.
226
00:12:59.159 --> 00:13:01.360
I hope when we get through we'll have an international
227
00:13:01.519 --> 00:13:02.320
rugues gallery.
228
00:13:02.559 --> 00:13:04.000
He said, you thought i'd have a chance to meet
229
00:13:04.000 --> 00:13:04.840
this girl tomorrow night.
230
00:13:05.080 --> 00:13:07.159
As a results, he theres of a dozen traps were
231
00:13:07.159 --> 00:13:10.360
he sets. One trap I set with a Registrar of.
232
00:13:10.399 --> 00:13:15.080
Deeds in Victoria, supposedly a young American by the name
233
00:13:15.120 --> 00:13:15.960
of Harold P.
234
00:13:16.399 --> 00:13:17.120
Sturgis.
235
00:13:18.519 --> 00:13:19.480
That's what I'm going to pretend.
236
00:13:19.519 --> 00:13:21.840
I am, yes, I really no such person, but we've
237
00:13:21.840 --> 00:13:26.080
created him. Young Surgis supposedly owns part of the valley
238
00:13:26.080 --> 00:13:27.480
where the uranium strike is.
239
00:13:28.080 --> 00:13:30.039
Several suspicious persons have already.
240
00:13:29.720 --> 00:13:32.399
Been to the Registrar of Beach and inquired about that land.
241
00:13:33.120 --> 00:13:36.320
They've been told that Surgis is expected to arrive momentarily
242
00:13:36.360 --> 00:13:38.279
in Victoria to look over his properties.
243
00:13:38.399 --> 00:13:40.639
Have you made the reservation? Yes for tomorrow.
244
00:13:40.799 --> 00:13:44.879
Oh, now, let's make Surgis a playboy, not too smart.
245
00:13:45.519 --> 00:13:49.759
I've already gotten you a yellow sports jacket, loud black. Oh, brothers,
246
00:13:50.080 --> 00:14:05.080
I think Peters, You're going to see plenty of actions.
247
00:14:05.080 --> 00:14:08.440
Back to counter spy in a moment, pets Picola gets
248
00:14:08.440 --> 00:14:09.879
the boxing less.
249
00:14:10.120 --> 00:14:13.399
That's what lots for Daniel, lot more debt. Why take
250
00:14:13.519 --> 00:14:14.960
less when Petty's.
251
00:14:14.480 --> 00:14:17.480
Bet more and more among fellows and girls, among mothers
252
00:14:17.480 --> 00:14:20.639
and dads, You hear that same and sensible question. Why
253
00:14:20.720 --> 00:14:24.759
take less when Pepsy's best, no budget, no allowance ever
254
00:14:24.840 --> 00:14:29.039
had a better friend than Tangy sparkling petticola, Because one
255
00:14:29.080 --> 00:14:32.200
big twelve out petty bottle gives you two delicious drinks.
256
00:14:32.840 --> 00:14:36.120
That's twice as much tangy taste, twice as much delicious
257
00:14:36.159 --> 00:14:37.000
pepsi to go.
258
00:14:37.279 --> 00:14:38.120
Just twice as far.
259
00:14:38.840 --> 00:14:42.159
That's why more and more family says, why take less
260
00:14:42.320 --> 00:14:45.960
when Testy's best. Yes, family is like yours and mine
261
00:14:46.480 --> 00:14:50.519
family is all over America. They're all saying, why take less?
262
00:14:50.679 --> 00:14:52.200
When Teesty's bet.
263
00:14:52.320 --> 00:14:56.840
Tetsi cola bottle makes two drinks? Did it? Certainly a
264
00:14:56.919 --> 00:15:01.279
cola for the purchaser who thinks everybody pepsi does. Compare
265
00:15:01.320 --> 00:15:02.320
it with the rest.
266
00:15:02.240 --> 00:15:04.200
Bloma Ware and Slomas fighters.
267
00:15:05.559 --> 00:15:09.799
Today tomorrow, always get America's fickets. Call a value take
268
00:15:09.840 --> 00:15:13.720
all mc carton of six big big pepsi bottles, Insist
269
00:15:13.759 --> 00:15:17.240
on pepsi at the store and say pepsi at the fountain,
270
00:15:17.720 --> 00:15:21.279
Stay pepsi at the sand, say pepsi.
271
00:15:21.480 --> 00:15:23.080
Whenever you reach four refreshments.
272
00:15:23.320 --> 00:15:29.679
Remember why take less when pepsi'st Now back to counter
273
00:15:29.799 --> 00:15:33.639
Spy the town of Victoria, Mexico and the bar at
274
00:15:33.639 --> 00:15:36.440
the hotel c you Dot where Peters of the counter
275
00:15:36.519 --> 00:15:47.840
Spies is posing as a young playboyty.
276
00:15:48.159 --> 00:15:50.399
I don't usually come in the bus and speak to
277
00:15:50.519 --> 00:15:54.480
says men, but I am.
278
00:15:54.559 --> 00:15:56.159
Unless you want me to be somebody else.
279
00:15:57.240 --> 00:15:59.240
I think they're going to be a very interesting blood.
280
00:16:00.759 --> 00:16:02.000
Ohcuse, I want you sit down.
281
00:16:02.120 --> 00:16:06.879
Thank you. My name is Magne Lawsy and.
282
00:16:06.840 --> 00:16:07.759
You already know mine.
283
00:16:07.960 --> 00:16:11.799
Yes, Jesus, you see, I'm a busmist, but I've got
284
00:16:11.840 --> 00:16:13.480
to make a little money so i can stay a
285
00:16:13.480 --> 00:16:14.519
few days longer and thin.
286
00:16:14.559 --> 00:16:17.120
It's my worst that certainly is understandable.
287
00:16:17.519 --> 00:16:20.960
Well, I'm also a very good secretary. Sure he adn't hyping.
288
00:16:22.039 --> 00:16:24.159
I thought that possibly while you were down here? Is
289
00:16:24.240 --> 00:16:25.639
you need let need a secretary?
290
00:16:25.919 --> 00:16:27.639
The funny part of it is that I do need one.
291
00:16:27.879 --> 00:16:28.679
I need one badly.
292
00:16:28.919 --> 00:16:30.399
See you really could use me.
293
00:16:30.720 --> 00:16:34.320
Well, I'm here on business. Besides, I'm terrible with details.
294
00:16:34.720 --> 00:16:37.120
I've got letters to write, deeds.
295
00:16:36.759 --> 00:16:39.399
Of land to look over, and papers to examine over
296
00:16:39.440 --> 00:16:39.919
it the mines.
297
00:16:40.159 --> 00:16:41.679
You haven't magnet price yet?
298
00:16:42.120 --> 00:16:42.919
What is your part?
299
00:16:43.440 --> 00:16:45.960
Ten dollars a day for very efficient secretary and one
300
00:16:46.039 --> 00:16:49.440
who can be absolutely trusted? Is that too much?
301
00:16:49.759 --> 00:16:52.600
Definitely not, for they always are have to be quite irregular.
302
00:16:52.639 --> 00:16:54.720
Oh then it's a it's a very pleasant deal.
303
00:16:55.120 --> 00:16:55.879
When do I start?
304
00:16:56.720 --> 00:16:58.519
I'd like to have you said in about half a minute.
305
00:17:00.120 --> 00:17:02.919
You're making in front of me, But I'm really seriously
306
00:17:03.039 --> 00:17:06.680
to honestly, what do you really want me to start?
307
00:17:06.799 --> 00:17:07.960
How about first day in the morning?
308
00:17:08.799 --> 00:17:13.640
Well, tomorrow Sunday. I want to go to church first,
309
00:17:13.680 --> 00:17:14.559
and then I'll start.
310
00:17:15.359 --> 00:17:17.200
I can see you're a very sweet person.
311
00:17:17.279 --> 00:17:20.119
This might now, and I know you'll be very trust
312
00:17:20.160 --> 00:17:20.440
with us.
313
00:17:30.680 --> 00:17:30.920
Thanks.
314
00:17:31.960 --> 00:17:32.759
Oh my name?
315
00:17:33.319 --> 00:17:36.599
What's the letterst with the surgious man? Trusting with everything?
316
00:17:37.160 --> 00:17:39.000
I've already been into the value of them right where
317
00:17:39.039 --> 00:17:40.079
the mining is going on.
318
00:17:40.319 --> 00:17:42.839
I know I was watching for the glasses for the legs.
319
00:17:43.400 --> 00:17:45.279
Can you get a sample of the urennium ore?
320
00:17:45.400 --> 00:17:48.759
I'm sorry, I cann't better. He's going back to the
321
00:17:48.839 --> 00:17:51.880
main office tonight. He's going to look through the company
322
00:17:51.920 --> 00:17:55.440
records to decide whether or not to steal his Name's.
323
00:17:54.920 --> 00:17:56.599
The chance of a lifetime maker.
324
00:17:57.200 --> 00:18:00.000
Here with your camera, No, I'll take dozens of pictures
325
00:18:00.079 --> 00:18:01.200
to their files.
326
00:18:01.279 --> 00:18:03.200
Ride it open so you can really do it.
327
00:18:03.279 --> 00:18:07.079
Yeah, and if that should say see that he meets
328
00:18:07.160 --> 00:18:09.839
with an accident, we've got.
329
00:18:09.640 --> 00:18:10.960
To know what the files contain.
330
00:18:12.000 --> 00:18:15.880
I pride myself on being well and mean I do
331
00:18:16.000 --> 00:18:18.359
some meant in a car before we even arrive at
332
00:18:18.359 --> 00:18:31.640
the point. This roads are location so rough. I don't
333
00:18:31.640 --> 00:18:33.480
see how you can see all the holes at night?
334
00:18:33.559 --> 00:18:33.880
Harold?
335
00:18:36.440 --> 00:18:37.359
Why should I be.
336
00:18:37.799 --> 00:18:39.440
Just we're along a long way from time.
337
00:18:40.680 --> 00:18:42.880
I don't think i'd be nervous to do anythay, Harold,
338
00:18:44.480 --> 00:18:45.759
how much favor to the office?
339
00:18:46.000 --> 00:18:46.400
That are?
340
00:18:47.039 --> 00:18:48.559
The office is right next to the mind chair.
341
00:18:50.480 --> 00:18:52.279
I don't know whether to tell my interest in the
342
00:18:52.359 --> 00:18:55.160
land of or not magnant tonight I want to go
343
00:18:55.200 --> 00:18:56.920
through all the papers in the files.
344
00:18:57.359 --> 00:18:59.920
Well, you might make money in the end by not sell,
345
00:19:00.160 --> 00:19:02.920
but it's going to be very complicated being all snarled
346
00:19:02.960 --> 00:19:05.599
up in it. And you don't like the tale.
347
00:19:05.839 --> 00:19:07.039
That's that's what I'm worried about.
348
00:19:07.680 --> 00:19:10.440
I have enough money, Why make more of It's going
349
00:19:10.480 --> 00:19:11.480
to become too involved?
350
00:19:12.640 --> 00:19:13.160
What are you doing?
351
00:19:13.359 --> 00:19:15.200
See it takes time chewing them?
352
00:19:15.799 --> 00:19:16.799
No thanks, not right now?
353
00:19:18.000 --> 00:19:20.039
After we look over the reports, and if you tell
354
00:19:20.079 --> 00:19:21.519
me whether you think I could sell.
355
00:19:21.440 --> 00:19:23.160
Or not, chewing gum relaxes you.
356
00:19:23.640 --> 00:19:25.079
But I honestly don't want to see it.
357
00:19:25.119 --> 00:19:27.720
And I've stopped seating stepping, all right.
358
00:19:29.759 --> 00:19:30.880
You're a persistent woman.
359
00:19:32.240 --> 00:19:34.839
You always get away with them.
360
00:19:35.599 --> 00:19:38.880
Uh huh, that's nice, isn't it? Well, doesn't the gum
361
00:19:38.960 --> 00:19:39.440
taste good?
362
00:19:39.680 --> 00:19:40.119
Sure? Does?
363
00:19:40.960 --> 00:19:42.079
Only you tickle meself.
364
00:19:42.920 --> 00:19:44.839
You were more interested in a little sit of chewing
365
00:19:44.880 --> 00:19:46.559
gum than you were whether I could sell out.
366
00:19:47.119 --> 00:19:50.240
I'm really at hard just a woman here. I have
367
00:19:50.400 --> 00:19:57.519
to have my own way.
368
00:20:00.240 --> 00:20:03.359
There's seeds to the land. That's complicated, my lin.
369
00:20:03.559 --> 00:20:06.200
You're not accustom to a business life, herows. This is
370
00:20:06.240 --> 00:20:09.960
where my secretary work comes in handy. Now, those papers on.
371
00:20:10.000 --> 00:20:22.640
The pole, original deed of ownership, title guarantees were Oh
372
00:20:23.640 --> 00:20:27.319
excuse me, how long have went and working?
373
00:20:27.759 --> 00:20:33.000
About an hour? I feel granted rest for a couple
374
00:20:33.000 --> 00:20:33.440
of minutes.
375
00:20:34.200 --> 00:20:37.200
Ohkay, rested? I'm wait.
376
00:20:37.279 --> 00:20:40.400
I call it sleep sometimes a five minute, not just five?
377
00:20:40.480 --> 00:20:42.839
And right up, put your head down on the desk.
378
00:20:44.160 --> 00:20:51.920
Well, yes, that's it, Yes, that's the way.
379
00:20:53.400 --> 00:21:01.839
Harows harrows the cant of the night.
380
00:21:19.759 --> 00:21:20.039
Hello.
381
00:21:21.599 --> 00:21:23.079
She tried to dope me to night by giving me
382
00:21:23.200 --> 00:21:26.039
chewing gum while I was supposedly asleep of the factory.
383
00:21:26.079 --> 00:21:27.839
She went through the files with a camera which she
384
00:21:27.960 --> 00:21:31.039
fast and good malle Oh brother, will she's poisoned.
385
00:21:31.480 --> 00:21:33.079
It's time to poor action. Peters.
386
00:21:33.119 --> 00:21:35.039
Pretend to take her into your confidence and tell her
387
00:21:35.039 --> 00:21:35.680
what your planned.
388
00:21:35.960 --> 00:21:37.720
When are you coming over to Victoria Chief, the town
389
00:21:37.799 --> 00:21:38.799
of a hotbed of intrigues.
390
00:21:39.119 --> 00:21:41.119
I think i'll move over to night. If we're going
391
00:21:41.160 --> 00:21:43.359
to start bearing down, there's no telling what will happen.
392
00:22:04.319 --> 00:22:06.400
Why do you let me such an emergency message?
393
00:22:06.440 --> 00:22:10.839
Mag American house business. He's decided to share his land
394
00:22:10.880 --> 00:22:14.160
in the ballance. What why is he so foolish with
395
00:22:14.160 --> 00:22:16.960
a tay boy type dress? He would rather have quick money.
396
00:22:16.960 --> 00:22:19.319
Now we've got to buy that fool's land.
397
00:22:19.519 --> 00:22:22.000
I didn't sell its one hundred thousand dollars.
398
00:22:21.680 --> 00:22:23.759
Then offer to them I'll buy it myself.
399
00:22:24.319 --> 00:22:27.160
No, I think it becomes suspicious. But two nights to
400
00:22:27.279 --> 00:22:29.799
tonight he's going to hire the entire restaurant at the
401
00:22:29.799 --> 00:22:32.279
hotel for your dad to auction the land off.
402
00:22:32.559 --> 00:22:33.799
Who knows about his plan.
403
00:22:34.440 --> 00:22:38.039
Only so far. Tomorrow night you will announce the auction,
404
00:22:38.880 --> 00:22:40.880
and those who wish to attain he must even know.
405
00:22:41.079 --> 00:22:44.160
In the hotel box, ask the boy ticket.
406
00:22:44.640 --> 00:22:48.319
This will be our opportunity, magure perhaps one hundred two
407
00:22:48.400 --> 00:22:49.680
hundred thousand dollars.
408
00:22:49.920 --> 00:22:52.680

all right, we will consider these fifty two. See which
422
00:23:43.000 --> 00:23:45.720

The small time we won't give tickets to.
426
00:23:50.920 --> 00:23:52.680
They will return to the States and think we don't
427
00:23:52.720 --> 00:23:57.160

00:24:49.640 --> 00:24:50.200
Up for auction.
441
00:24:51.640 --> 00:24:52.640

00:24:54.519 --> 00:24:54.720
Hell?
443
00:24:55.640 --> 00:24:57.720
Who is that big man walking on in the middle
444
00:24:57.720 --> 00:24:58.119
of before.
445
00:24:59.160 --> 00:25:01.759
I believe that's mister Hunting over the United States contage
446
00:25:01.799 --> 00:25:02.440
fins h.
447
00:25:04.119 --> 00:25:06.720
I think I please forget me.
448
00:25:06.920 --> 00:25:10.519

a ticket to attend this auction now. In order to
451
00:25:20.799 --> 00:25:24.079
conduct the proceedings with the utmost efficiency, all doors are
452
00:25:24.160 --> 00:25:27.799
lots an armed god are stationed outside the doors.
453
00:25:30.680 --> 00:25:35.200
Gentlemen and a few lady friends. I'd like to introduce.
454
00:25:34.880 --> 00:25:40.359
Myself David Harding of the United States Counterspy. We have
455
00:25:40.440 --> 00:25:42.799
been working here in Mexico with the content of the
456
00:25:42.880 --> 00:25:43.599
Mexican Police.
457
00:25:45.720 --> 00:25:47.039
You see, uranium.
458
00:25:46.759 --> 00:25:49.680
Deposits are very vital today, and it occurred to me
459
00:25:49.799 --> 00:25:53.440
that if a Mexican deposit were located Espionage agents of
460
00:25:53.559 --> 00:25:57.440
many countries. Spionage agents both big and small would come
461
00:25:57.559 --> 00:26:05.279
fucking to see what they could learn, apply or sell. Therefore,
462
00:26:05.440 --> 00:26:08.880
we took some worthless rant land out here, fifty miles
463
00:26:08.920 --> 00:26:12.279
from any large city, fut a fence around it, a
464
00:26:12.359 --> 00:26:15.759
couple of old buildings, and a smoke sack. Then we
465
00:26:15.920 --> 00:26:18.720
gave out information that uranium might have been cut.
466
00:26:20.119 --> 00:26:22.839
We didn't add that it might have been. But what.
467
00:26:26.440 --> 00:26:28.880
I'd like to ask my assistant mister.
468
00:26:28.720 --> 00:26:29.720
Peters to stand up.
469
00:26:31.640 --> 00:26:37.680
You you that's right, miss Nugnant, and you stand up too.
470
00:26:38.400 --> 00:26:41.279
I'd like to remind you all were not in another pooling.
471
00:26:41.880 --> 00:26:53.079
Stand up. And now mister Dressler stand up. We have
472
00:26:53.240 --> 00:26:53.880
a record on.
473
00:26:53.960 --> 00:26:56.640
Every person in this cafe, and I am placing you
474
00:26:56.839 --> 00:26:59.759
all under the rest by the United States government foreste lives.
475
00:27:00.519 --> 00:27:04.799
But you, Magna Lawton and you carle Him Dressler, I'm
476
00:27:04.839 --> 00:27:06.960
placing YouTube under arrest for a murder.
477
00:27:07.279 --> 00:27:11.519
Now was the murder of pool Harding, the.
478
00:27:11.599 --> 00:27:12.440
Murderer of lives.
479
00:27:12.599 --> 00:27:14.319
Chanceler. He fell from his past.
480
00:27:14.359 --> 00:27:17.000
It was an accident, and tell him Peters, I.
481
00:27:17.119 --> 00:27:18.799
Was hiding about one hundred yards distance.
482
00:27:19.839 --> 00:27:21.960
I saw you Dressler and Magnet set the whole.
483
00:27:21.920 --> 00:27:24.079

The Windowreatler said, the rest of you, there's the window
486
00:27:38.640 --> 00:27:39.799
Dressler's flight to jump through.
487
00:27:40.960 --> 00:27:43.839
There's the door, planes.
488
00:27:43.599 --> 00:27:45.880
Waiting outside to take you back to the United States.
489

490
00:27:52.960 --> 00:27:53.720

00:30:22.400 --> 00:30:23.640
Welcome Back Well.
523
00:30:23.759 --> 00:30:27.480
I thought a really entertaining episode and after the stuff
524
00:30:27.519 --> 00:30:32.319
we've been dealing with FHA. It was not to get
525
00:30:32.400 --> 00:30:39.519
into something that really felt like a big counter spy operation.
526
00:30:39.799 --> 00:30:46.119
I mean, we had counterspy countering spies. That's been a while,
527
00:30:46.440 --> 00:30:50.480
and so I like that, and the plot is really
528
00:30:50.920 --> 00:30:56.759
entertaining and the reveal is satisfying of the elaborate plan
529
00:30:56.960 --> 00:31:01.160
that Harding put together. Now, obviously, in terms of real
530
00:31:01.279 --> 00:31:07.000
life implications, this would be difficult to pull off, as
531
00:31:07.680 --> 00:31:12.519
even though you've got the Mexican government cooperating, your having
532
00:31:12.759 --> 00:31:18.480
US agents arrest people in Mexico and counterintelligence age, it
533
00:31:18.559 --> 00:31:21.799
seem to be a little bit more subtle and play
534
00:31:22.759 --> 00:31:27.079
a different sort of game. But you know, I will
535
00:31:27.240 --> 00:31:31.240
gladly just been my disbelief on this because it was fun.
536
00:31:31.759 --> 00:31:36.000
I do kind of question Peters not figuring out what
537
00:31:36.279 --> 00:31:41.680
was going on because I was and Harding was dropping hits.
538
00:31:42.440 --> 00:31:48.319
And I also thought killing Jensen seemed like a dumb decision,
539
00:31:48.400 --> 00:31:50.839
at least doing it on the mission. I get that
540
00:31:51.000 --> 00:31:54.240
they were worried that he might start talking, but if
541
00:31:54.279 --> 00:31:56.920
he thought that was a big enough worry, it would
542
00:31:56.960 --> 00:31:59.880
have been better to have some fake mission that they
543
00:31:59.880 --> 00:32:03.880
were going on somewhere else where you could just focus
544
00:32:04.240 --> 00:32:07.480
on getting the murder done because they were aware that
545
00:32:07.680 --> 00:32:11.920
this location would be crawling with different agents, so there
546
00:32:12.119 --> 00:32:15.880
was a strong chance someone might see them, so that
547
00:32:16.079 --> 00:32:18.759
decision seemed a bit off, But other than that, I
548
00:32:18.839 --> 00:32:20.759
thought the episode worked rather well.
549
00:32:21.000 --> 00:32:23.200
Now let's talk a little bit about.
550
00:32:23.000 --> 00:32:28.240
The sponsorship situation, and this is an interesting era for
551
00:32:28.519 --> 00:32:32.720
the program, as it was airing twice a week, which
552
00:32:33.039 --> 00:32:38.400
was indicative of its popularity. It was certainly not unprecedented,
553
00:32:38.920 --> 00:32:42.559
but definitely noteworthy. I think this is a really good
554
00:32:42.680 --> 00:32:46.279
show for that sort of thing, because in terms of
555
00:32:46.680 --> 00:32:53.079
ongoing cast, you just have Don McLoughlin and Mandel Kramer,
556
00:32:53.839 --> 00:32:58.839
and generally about half the script is carried by the
557
00:32:58.920 --> 00:33:01.960
bad guys. The show wasn't one of those that had
558
00:33:02.200 --> 00:33:06.200
only one rider. So if the ratings and the interest
559
00:33:06.400 --> 00:33:10.599
and the sponsors are all there, then yeah, why not. Pepsi,
560
00:33:10.720 --> 00:33:14.920
of course, is one of those iconic companies still around
561
00:33:15.200 --> 00:33:18.880
this day. Of course, on Great Detectives we get to
562
00:33:19.119 --> 00:33:24.319
hear some of their late fifties ads on Johnny Dollar.
563
00:33:24.599 --> 00:33:29.440
But these late forties ones are interesting, in particular the
564
00:33:29.759 --> 00:33:34.759
whole issue about two glasses for the price of one,
565
00:33:35.000 --> 00:33:38.720
and that's an interesting promotion. Of course, as someone who
566
00:33:38.799 --> 00:33:44.480
grew up during the eighties, twelve ounce cans were the norm,
567
00:33:44.599 --> 00:33:49.920
with even bigger bottles sixteen or twenty usually, But back
568
00:33:50.240 --> 00:33:55.960
in the late nineteen forties, Coca Cola standard bottle was
569
00:33:56.400 --> 00:34:02.440
six point five ounces, So Pepsi's twelve ounce was a deal,
570
00:34:02.880 --> 00:34:05.359
and it set them up really as the sort of
571
00:34:05.960 --> 00:34:09.199
value brand and like, hey, you know, you can have
572
00:34:09.599 --> 00:34:13.039
a couple people over, you can share a Pepsi. Now,
573
00:34:13.119 --> 00:34:16.599
of course it's hard to find a soda drinker who
574
00:34:17.360 --> 00:34:22.119
would not be able to finish a twelve ounce glass
575
00:34:22.199 --> 00:34:25.639
of their favorite beverage, but again, this was a big
576
00:34:25.719 --> 00:34:29.079
deal back in nineteen forty nine. Now it's time to

Tetsicola hit the top sul glasses the lap.
25
00:02:07.000 --> 00:02:09.919
That's right, you heard what they said. Two full glasses
26
00:02:09.960 --> 00:02:13.439
of sparkling Petsi from one big twelve ounce bottle. You're
27
00:02:13.479 --> 00:02:16.759
getting an extra glass ball. And what a delicious glass ball.
28
00:02:17.120 --> 00:02:19.400
The most refreshing, delightful cola.
29
00:02:19.240 --> 00:02:20.520
That ever tickled your taste.
30
00:02:21.000 --> 00:02:24.439
You can't top pepsi singy flavor. And that big, big
31
00:02:24.479 --> 00:02:28.719
bottle saves you money, goes twice as far. Pepsi's America's big,
32
00:02:28.879 --> 00:02:32.960
big favorite at America's bigot colavan. You So, why take
33
00:02:33.080 --> 00:02:39.159
less when Tetsi's bet. Whenever you reach for refreshments, remember why.
34
00:02:39.000 --> 00:02:44.039
Take glassless Pepsi's bet? And now to counterspy.
35
00:02:51.120 --> 00:02:54.680
A few weeks ago, a swarthy faced, heely eyed Chimmith
36
00:02:55.280 --> 00:02:58.479
was in his laboratory in San Francisco. He was going
37
00:02:58.520 --> 00:03:03.080
through his meal. Suddenly he stopped. There was a picture
38
00:03:03.120 --> 00:03:03.639
post card.
39
00:03:04.400 --> 00:03:08.280
He read it, Sir Jason has been seriously ill and
40
00:03:08.319 --> 00:03:09.439
I'm going for a vacation.
41
00:03:10.560 --> 00:03:13.560
Won't you join me? Aunt Mary?
42
00:03:14.479 --> 00:03:19.159
Slowly, the chemist count of the Commas the periods.
43
00:03:18.199 --> 00:03:21.400
Even the placing of the writing. Then he picked up
44
00:03:21.439 --> 00:03:27.800
the phone.
45
00:03:26.319 --> 00:03:28.759
Tell us a Brown, I'm resigning the serious sickness in
46
00:03:28.800 --> 00:03:29.319
our family.
47
00:03:32.120 --> 00:03:36.000
In a luxurious apartment in Chicago, a small, attractive, fiery
48
00:03:36.039 --> 00:03:39.759
young woman and a negligee was reading a picture post carrier.
49
00:03:40.319 --> 00:03:45.039
Dear Magna, I'm not expected to live long. Want you
50
00:03:45.199 --> 00:04:02.199
with me? Aunt Mary Well Bruce, Oh, I'm glad I
51
00:04:02.240 --> 00:04:04.759
caught you before you went to the bank eating. The
52
00:04:04.800 --> 00:04:08.319
doctor just told me the result of my examination. He says,
53
00:04:08.360 --> 00:04:10.639
it's definitely a breakdown that I must leave and get
54
00:04:10.639 --> 00:04:15.800
away from everything. So far, yes, I'm talking. Well, as
55
00:04:15.800 --> 00:04:17.399
soon as I know, i'll be I'll let you know.
56
00:04:17.519 --> 00:04:33.199
But so far I've got to be alone.
57
00:04:38.879 --> 00:04:41.680
Oh that's this drawing room is real chummy with you
58
00:04:41.759 --> 00:04:43.639
and Magne and I back together again.
59
00:04:43.759 --> 00:04:45.800
I wish you stop to dress.
60
00:04:46.439 --> 00:04:48.800
You two acted very promptly on your postal card.
61
00:04:49.120 --> 00:04:50.879
If they were to stay on this train or we
62
00:04:50.920 --> 00:04:52.279
get to Mexico, miss addressment.
63
00:04:52.480 --> 00:04:53.639
Yeah, that's correct, Jensen.
64
00:04:54.560 --> 00:04:56.240
All right, now we all take a look at this
65
00:04:56.399 --> 00:04:57.240
map of Mexico.
66
00:04:59.160 --> 00:05:00.519
Very very Paine.
67
00:05:01.680 --> 00:05:05.040
Now, I think I begin to understand. I found an
68
00:05:05.120 --> 00:05:09.639
article the newspaper is a new uranium deposit in Mexico.
69
00:05:09.920 --> 00:05:12.600
That's why I love you. Magnet word intuition.
70
00:05:13.000 --> 00:05:14.279
You're singing, yes, sir.
71
00:05:14.800 --> 00:05:18.480
Remember I'm here too. Have these fine black lines, they're the.
72
00:05:18.519 --> 00:05:22.360
Mountains now over here, right in the center of these mountains.
73
00:05:22.839 --> 00:05:25.360
This is a plot, soau the Mexican city of.
74
00:05:25.399 --> 00:05:30.800
Victoria calculation is too small even to be listed that
75
00:05:31.000 --> 00:05:33.639
tom Victoria may be one of the most important cities
76
00:05:33.639 --> 00:05:34.240
of Mexico.
77
00:05:34.600 --> 00:05:37.839
Is the uranium deposit owned by the Mexican government or
78
00:05:37.879 --> 00:05:38.439
by whom?
79
00:05:38.720 --> 00:05:41.439
I'm not sure yet, but I believe the deposit may
80
00:05:41.480 --> 00:05:44.279
be on land owned by several individuals.
81
00:05:44.600 --> 00:05:47.399
How can we promper, sir? What is it a tele
82
00:05:47.560 --> 00:05:48.079
foreign nation?
83
00:05:48.399 --> 00:05:52.439
The information concerning the percentage of uranium or the method
84
00:05:52.480 --> 00:05:55.959
of refining the uranium.
85
00:05:55.360 --> 00:05:57.360
The contract with Mexico to ship part of the.
86
00:05:57.399 --> 00:05:58.279
Order of other countries?
87
00:05:58.600 --> 00:05:59.720
Did the handle of sider?
88
00:05:59.759 --> 00:06:02.480
Could well, Jesson go.
89
00:06:02.480 --> 00:06:04.360
Up to the club car and order us all chicken
90
00:06:04.399 --> 00:06:05.360
sandwiches and coffee.
91
00:06:06.839 --> 00:06:08.199
One you rather have a high ball?
92
00:06:08.480 --> 00:06:09.839
You heard what I said, Jensen?
93
00:06:10.319 --> 00:06:17.519
All right? Sorry, I have.
94
00:06:17.800 --> 00:06:20.519
A premonition about Jensen too.
95
00:06:21.240 --> 00:06:22.279
You're right again.
96
00:06:23.519 --> 00:06:27.879
Since we've worked together last year's been drinking heavily and.
97
00:06:27.959 --> 00:06:30.879
One whole drink is apt to talk too much.
98
00:06:31.360 --> 00:06:33.759
It should be easy to dispose of him in Mexico
99
00:06:33.959 --> 00:06:34.920
by an accident.
100
00:06:36.120 --> 00:06:39.160
Now you and I you must study.
101
00:06:38.879 --> 00:06:42.680
This map with Mexico. Keep you live in a little
102
00:06:42.680 --> 00:06:43.920
hotel in the discharge.
103
00:06:52.759 --> 00:06:55.879
Come in, missus Peters counters five plane one bomb to Mexico.
104
00:06:56.519 --> 00:07:00.199
Victoria is about forty miles north of the uranium discovery.
105
00:07:01.160 --> 00:07:02.439
You don't want to say Victoria.
106
00:07:02.480 --> 00:07:04.600
There's another town forty miles to the south of.
107
00:07:04.560 --> 00:07:06.160
The uranium field of Meta.
108
00:07:06.920 --> 00:07:08.560
You wouldn't know how to can get rooms there in
109
00:07:08.639 --> 00:07:09.360
a ramcouse.
110
00:07:09.519 --> 00:07:11.240
That would be fun for a while.
111
00:07:11.279 --> 00:07:13.680
We want to keep under cover. That's all.
112
00:07:15.399 --> 00:07:18.319
Our number of theaters. I'm applying to Mexico at your request.
113
00:07:18.639 --> 00:07:20.160
I brought along this map of Mexico.
114
00:07:20.199 --> 00:07:24.519
Masaani like to show you the publicity that's gotten of
115
00:07:24.519 --> 00:07:26.879
the papers about a uranium deposit in Mexico.
116
00:07:26.920 --> 00:07:28.160
It certainly scouted something.
117
00:07:28.600 --> 00:07:31.800
M What does the reports on the Mexican beliefs say
118
00:07:31.800 --> 00:07:32.079
about it?
119
00:07:32.160 --> 00:07:35.680
The sport said that person's a questionable character. Were flocking
120
00:07:35.680 --> 00:07:36.279
to Victoria.
121
00:07:37.160 --> 00:07:38.920
Victoria, that's right here on the map.
122
00:07:39.560 --> 00:07:40.040
Mm hmm.
123
00:07:40.360 --> 00:07:42.959
Unless I'm is my guest farm agents are swarming there
124
00:07:43.000 --> 00:07:44.079
like flies to my lapsus.
125
00:07:45.759 --> 00:07:47.680
What are you talking about this for me?
126
00:07:48.079 --> 00:07:48.279
Yes?
127
00:07:48.439 --> 00:07:49.759
You, Oh I am.
128
00:07:50.240 --> 00:07:53.839
I was thinking of a funny story. You've got something
129
00:07:53.920 --> 00:07:54.959
up your sleeve.
130
00:07:55.360 --> 00:07:57.399
Somehow, beaters, I have a hunt the hunts.
131
00:07:57.399 --> 00:07:59.560
There are going to be some very interesting development in
132
00:07:59.600 --> 00:08:01.839
those within the next few days.
133
00:08:16.759 --> 00:08:19.480
There, it's muffin passes keeps Magnet.
134
00:08:19.360 --> 00:08:24.519
The worry, not you. How are you making personally?
135
00:08:26.279 --> 00:08:28.959
I'm playing the horse to the top.
136
00:08:29.839 --> 00:08:32.200
Then we can get a good looking from uranium deposit
137
00:08:32.279 --> 00:08:39.039
down there on the plateau. That's a Jason pass Until
138
00:08:39.120 --> 00:08:44.600
now you're right ahead. Oh that you get ahead, Magnet,
139
00:08:45.320 --> 00:08:50.200
hold on, he's far enough ahead.
140
00:08:54.519 --> 00:09:00.480
It's past is very now and very steep and very rocky.
141
00:09:01.200 --> 00:09:06.360
Pecure intuition is uncanny, Magnets. Younton knows nothing of a saddle.
142
00:09:07.240 --> 00:09:09.519
When we get to the top, get off and tell
143
00:09:09.600 --> 00:09:13.440
him you'll title the saddle good instead.
144
00:09:13.720 --> 00:09:14.240
Loosen it.
145
00:09:14.879 --> 00:09:17.240
The horse must be headed down this path.
146
00:09:17.799 --> 00:09:18.759
That's the right moment.
147
00:09:18.919 --> 00:09:23.519
I will accidentally trick the horse with my magdancs the
148
00:09:23.559 --> 00:09:27.200
hot saddle Already. As soon as I get a good
149
00:09:27.200 --> 00:09:29.240
look at the location down there, I'll know how.
150
00:09:29.159 --> 00:09:33.000
To operate United States. Perhaps she coul agents down here too.
151
00:09:33.559 --> 00:09:37.120
Botheribly, they're here already, the Mexican secret.
152
00:09:36.759 --> 00:09:37.320
Police ho.
153
00:09:40.879 --> 00:09:42.039
Hey to report the two.
154
00:09:42.039 --> 00:09:45.600
All right, look down there in the valley. Now those glasses.
155
00:09:46.840 --> 00:09:48.519
I'm going to get off and pick the girls on
156
00:09:48.600 --> 00:09:49.039
your saddle.
157
00:09:49.159 --> 00:09:50.799
Jason's loose danger.
158
00:09:51.480 --> 00:09:54.519
Well, if your saddle put to one side, it will
159
00:09:54.600 --> 00:09:57.399
throw you on your head and under the horse's feet.
160
00:09:58.360 --> 00:09:59.840
Oh, lons of dirt.
161
00:10:00.600 --> 00:10:03.000
Look at the size of a smokestack from that shack,
162
00:10:03.080 --> 00:10:06.120
and I can see high fences.
163
00:10:07.080 --> 00:10:10.000
Im God, it looks to me like money. It's just tuned.
164
00:10:10.559 --> 00:10:14.240
It's like the start of a tremendous operation, could be
165
00:10:14.320 --> 00:10:16.919
one of the largest uranium operations in the world.
166
00:10:17.080 --> 00:10:18.960
Let me tear your horse is head around this way
167
00:10:18.960 --> 00:10:19.879
against time.
168
00:10:21.639 --> 00:10:23.240
Not the only one who had down here to get
169
00:10:23.240 --> 00:10:28.360
information to sell to foreign countries already recognized several other operators.
170
00:10:28.600 --> 00:10:30.799
Would you take your nice dress and cut off that
171
00:10:30.960 --> 00:10:32.799
step and that's for it?
172
00:10:33.120 --> 00:10:33.799
Or story?
173
00:10:34.240 --> 00:10:39.600
Why give my prop insight your horse? This one kiss.
174
00:10:43.480 --> 00:10:44.919
Stoppage, stoppage.
175
00:10:47.080 --> 00:10:49.360
He's swaying from side to side.
176
00:10:50.159 --> 00:10:53.240
There he goes, stay done.
177
00:10:53.080 --> 00:10:54.279
Longer than that, he would?
178
00:10:56.799 --> 00:10:59.440
Well, you'll take the pass back on the other side
179
00:10:59.480 --> 00:11:01.799
of the mountain. That's why I told Jason not to
180
00:11:01.799 --> 00:11:04.080
be seen with its breakfast.
181
00:11:04.200 --> 00:11:06.279
Who owns that land down there? Whether you ran in
182
00:11:06.360 --> 00:11:08.879
the positive, they want to talk you about Magnet.
183
00:11:09.759 --> 00:11:12.240
Part of the land is owned by an American, Harold P.
184
00:11:12.480 --> 00:11:13.120
Sturgis.
185
00:11:13.200 --> 00:11:16.200
Oh, we've expected to arrive in a few days.
186
00:11:16.600 --> 00:11:18.960
I want you to meet him, make him like you.
187
00:11:19.840 --> 00:11:21.279
I think that will be possible.
188
00:11:21.720 --> 00:11:24.039
We've got to use him to get into that carefully
189
00:11:24.039 --> 00:11:26.720
sensed deposit. We've got to get a look at the
190
00:11:26.759 --> 00:11:27.919
plans and reports are there.
191
00:11:28.600 --> 00:11:29.440
It is possible.
192
00:11:30.200 --> 00:11:32.240
We've got to get control of his land.
193
00:11:52.240 --> 00:11:53.399
Dave, I'm mad, boiling.
194
00:11:53.720 --> 00:11:55.440
I just saw one of the coldest murders, and I
195
00:11:55.519 --> 00:11:56.679
was helpless to do a thing about it.
196
00:11:56.759 --> 00:11:58.480
I thought you were about a high cliff all day.
197
00:11:58.519 --> 00:11:58.879
I was.
198
00:11:59.120 --> 00:12:00.279
That's I'm comfortable in the old is.
199
00:12:00.360 --> 00:12:02.279
When a girl, a beautiful girl, and two men came.
200
00:12:02.240 --> 00:12:04.039
Riding up her file on the Uranium feel like we
201
00:12:04.039 --> 00:12:04.840
thought we would.
202
00:12:04.679 --> 00:12:07.600
Yes glasses and everything, but this girl she loosened the saddle.
203
00:12:07.600 --> 00:12:07.840
Girls.
204
00:12:07.960 --> 00:12:10.039
One of the men got the horse headed down the
205
00:12:10.039 --> 00:12:11.919
steep trail, and then the other man picked the horse
206
00:12:11.960 --> 00:12:14.960
with his knife the horse ran headline down the trail.
207
00:12:14.799 --> 00:12:17.279
And the saddles flipped yield him out right. The other
208
00:12:17.320 --> 00:12:18.240
two didn't go down the street.
209
00:12:18.240 --> 00:12:21.679
If there wasn't any questions after they left, I went down.
210
00:12:23.519 --> 00:12:24.440
Don't ask me anymore.
211
00:12:25.559 --> 00:12:27.240
You weren't near enough to hear what was said. Now
212
00:12:27.279 --> 00:12:28.320
I was one hundred oars away.
213
00:12:29.799 --> 00:12:32.080
I'm looking forward to meeting up with that girl. The
214
00:12:32.159 --> 00:12:32.639
man too.
215
00:12:33.120 --> 00:12:35.240
I think you're going to have that chance by tomorrow
216
00:12:35.360 --> 00:12:36.159
Night's wonderful.
217
00:12:36.600 --> 00:12:37.039
I'll beat it.
218
00:12:38.200 --> 00:12:40.519
The Mexican police are cooperating to the limit. We've got
219
00:12:40.519 --> 00:12:43.360
the town of Vittoria covered every inch. All the liquor
220
00:12:43.399 --> 00:12:45.440
glasses from the cafes are taking to the kitchens and
221
00:12:45.480 --> 00:12:46.480
immediately fingerprinted.
222
00:12:47.159 --> 00:12:50.360
Now this file here full of fuched fingerprints, and.
223
00:12:50.360 --> 00:12:52.759
Our walking in file show that many of these.
224
00:12:52.600 --> 00:12:55.759
Are wanted characters. All our pictures, thousands of feet of
225
00:12:55.840 --> 00:12:58.399
film have been taken of all foreigners who come to Victoria.
226
00:12:59.159 --> 00:13:01.360
I hope when we get through we'll have an international
227
00:13:01.519 --> 00:13:02.320
rugues gallery.
228
00:13:02.559 --> 00:13:04.000
He said, you thought i'd have a chance to meet
229
00:13:04.000 --> 00:13:04.840
this girl tomorrow night.
230
00:13:05.080 --> 00:13:07.159
As a results, he theres of a dozen traps were
231
00:13:07.159 --> 00:13:10.360
he sets. One trap I set with a Registrar of.
232
00:13:10.399 --> 00:13:15.080
Deeds in Victoria, supposedly a young American by the name
233
00:13:15.120 --> 00:13:15.960
of Harold P.
234
00:13:16.399 --> 00:13:17.120
Sturgis.
235
00:13:18.519 --> 00:13:19.480
That's what I'm going to pretend.
236
00:13:19.519 --> 00:13:21.840
I am, yes, I really no such person, but we've
237
00:13:21.840 --> 00:13:26.080
created him. Young Surgis supposedly owns part of the valley
238
00:13:26.080 --> 00:13:27.480
where the uranium strike is.
239
00:13:28.080 --> 00:13:30.039
Several suspicious persons have already.
240
00:13:29.720 --> 00:13:32.399
Been to the Registrar of Beach and inquired about that land.
241
00:13:33.120 --> 00:13:36.320
They've been told that Surgis is expected to arrive momentarily
242
00:13:36.360 --> 00:13:38.279
in Victoria to look over his properties.
243
00:13:38.399 --> 00:13:40.639
Have you made the reservation? Yes for tomorrow.
244
00:13:40.799 --> 00:13:44.879
Oh, now, let's make Surgis a playboy, not too smart.
245
00:13:45.519 --> 00:13:49.759
I've already gotten you a yellow sports jacket, loud black. Oh, brothers,
246
00:13:50.080 --> 00:14:05.080
I think Peters, You're going to see plenty of actions.
247
00:14:05.080 --> 00:14:08.440
Back to counter spy in a moment, pets Picola gets
248
00:14:08.440 --> 00:14:09.879
the boxing less.
249
00:14:10.120 --> 00:14:13.399
That's what lots for Daniel, lot more debt. Why take
250
00:14:13.519 --> 00:14:14.960
less when Petty's.
251
00:14:14.480 --> 00:14:17.480
Bet more and more among fellows and girls, among mothers
252
00:14:17.480 --> 00:14:20.639
and dads, You hear that same and sensible question. Why
253
00:14:20.720 --> 00:14:24.759
take less when Pepsy's best, no budget, no allowance ever
254
00:14:24.840 --> 00:14:29.039
had a better friend than Tangy sparkling petticola, Because one
255
00:14:29.080 --> 00:14:32.200
big twelve out petty bottle gives you two delicious drinks.
256
00:14:32.840 --> 00:14:36.120
That's twice as much tangy taste, twice as much delicious
257
00:14:36.159 --> 00:14:37.000
pepsi to go.
258
00:14:37.279 --> 00:14:38.120
Just twice as far.
259
00:14:38.840 --> 00:14:42.159
That's why more and more family says, why take less
260
00:14:42.320 --> 00:14:45.960
when Testy's best. Yes, family is like yours and mine
261
00:14:46.480 --> 00:14:50.519
family is all over America. They're all saying, why take less?
262
00:14:50.679 --> 00:14:52.200
When Teesty's bet.
263
00:14:52.320 --> 00:14:56.840
Tetsi cola bottle makes two drinks? Did it? Certainly a
264
00:14:56.919 --> 00:15:01.279
cola for the purchaser who thinks everybody pepsi does. Compare
265
00:15:01.320 --> 00:15:02.320
it with the rest.
266
00:15:02.240 --> 00:15:04.200
Bloma Ware and Slomas fighters.
267
00:15:05.559 --> 00:15:09.799
Today tomorrow, always get America's fickets. Call a value take
268
00:15:09.840 --> 00:15:13.720
all mc carton of six big big pepsi bottles, Insist
269
00:15:13.759 --> 00:15:17.240
on pepsi at the store and say pepsi at the fountain,
270
00:15:17.720 --> 00:15:21.279
Stay pepsi at the sand, say pepsi.
271
00:15:21.480 --> 00:15:23.080
Whenever you reach four refreshments.
272
00:15:23.320 --> 00:15:29.679
Remember why take less when pepsi'st Now back to counter
273
00:15:29.799 --> 00:15:33.639
Spy the town of Victoria, Mexico and the bar at
274
00:15:33.639 --> 00:15:36.440
the hotel c you Dot where Peters of the counter
275
00:15:36.519 --> 00:15:47.840
Spies is posing as a young playboyty.
276
00:15:48.159 --> 00:15:50.399
I don't usually come in the bus and speak to
277
00:15:50.519 --> 00:15:54.480
says men, but I am.
278
00:15:54.559 --> 00:15:56.159
Unless you want me to be somebody else.
279
00:15:57.240 --> 00:15:59.240
I think they're going to be a very interesting blood.
280
00:16:00.759 --> 00:16:02.000
Ohcuse, I want you sit down.
281
00:16:02.120 --> 00:16:06.879
Thank you. My name is Magne Lawsy and.
282
00:16:06.840 --> 00:16:07.759
You already know mine.
283
00:16:07.960 --> 00:16:11.799
Yes, Jesus, you see, I'm a busmist, but I've got
284
00:16:11.840 --> 00:16:13.480
to make a little money so i can stay a
285
00:16:13.480 --> 00:16:14.519
few days longer and thin.
286
00:16:14.559 --> 00:16:17.120
It's my worst that certainly is understandable.
287
00:16:17.519 --> 00:16:20.960
Well, I'm also a very good secretary. Sure he adn't hyping.
288
00:16:22.039 --> 00:16:24.159
I thought that possibly while you were down here? Is
289
00:16:24.240 --> 00:16:25.639
you need let need a secretary?
290
00:16:25.919 --> 00:16:27.639
The funny part of it is that I do need one.
291
00:16:27.879 --> 00:16:28.679
I need one badly.
292
00:16:28.919 --> 00:16:30.399
See you really could use me.
293
00:16:30.720 --> 00:16:34.320
Well, I'm here on business. Besides, I'm terrible with details.
294
00:16:34.720 --> 00:16:37.120
I've got letters to write, deeds.
295
00:16:36.759 --> 00:16:39.399
Of land to look over, and papers to examine over
296
00:16:39.440 --> 00:16:39.919
it the mines.
297
00:16:40.159 --> 00:16:41.679
You haven't magnet price yet?
298
00:16:42.120 --> 00:16:42.919
What is your part?
299
00:16:43.440 --> 00:16:45.960
Ten dollars a day for very efficient secretary and one
300
00:16:46.039 --> 00:16:49.440
who can be absolutely trusted? Is that too much?
301
00:16:49.759 --> 00:16:52.600
Definitely not, for they always are have to be quite irregular.
302
00:16:52.639 --> 00:16:54.720
Oh then it's a it's a very pleasant deal.
303
00:16:55.120 --> 00:16:55.879
When do I start?
304
00:16:56.720 --> 00:16:58.519
I'd like to have you said in about half a minute.
305
00:17:00.120 --> 00:17:02.919
You're making in front of me, But I'm really seriously
306
00:17:03.039 --> 00:17:06.680
to honestly, what do you really want me to start?
307
00:17:06.799 --> 00:17:07.960
How about first day in the morning?
308
00:17:08.799 --> 00:17:13.640
Well, tomorrow Sunday. I want to go to church first,
309
00:17:13.680 --> 00:17:14.559
and then I'll start.
310
00:17:15.359 --> 00:17:17.200
I can see you're a very sweet person.
311
00:17:17.279 --> 00:17:20.119
This might now, and I know you'll be very trust
312
00:17:20.160 --> 00:17:20.440
with us.
313
00:17:30.680 --> 00:17:30.920
Thanks.
314
00:17:31.960 --> 00:17:32.759
Oh my name?
315
00:17:33.319 --> 00:17:36.599
What's the letterst with the surgious man? Trusting with everything?
316
00:17:37.160 --> 00:17:39.000
I've already been into the value of them right where
317
00:17:39.039 --> 00:17:40.079
the mining is going on.
318
00:17:40.319 --> 00:17:42.839
I know I was watching for the glasses for the legs.
319
00:17:43.400 --> 00:17:45.279
Can you get a sample of the urennium ore?
320
00:17:45.400 --> 00:17:48.759
I'm sorry, I cann't better. He's going back to the
321
00:17:48.839 --> 00:17:51.880
main office tonight. He's going to look through the company
322
00:17:51.920 --> 00:17:55.440
records to decide whether or not to steal his Name's.
323
00:17:54.920 --> 00:17:56.599
The chance of a lifetime maker.
324
00:17:57.200 --> 00:18:00.000
Here with your camera, No, I'll take dozens of pictures
325
00:18:00.079 --> 00:18:01.200
to their files.
326
00:18:01.279 --> 00:18:03.200
Ride it open so you can really do it.
327
00:18:03.279 --> 00:18:07.079
Yeah, and if that should say see that he meets
328
00:18:07.160 --> 00:18:09.839
with an accident, we've got.
329
00:18:09.640 --> 00:18:10.960
To know what the files contain.
330
00:18:12.000 --> 00:18:15.880
I pride myself on being well and mean I do
331
00:18:16.000 --> 00:18:18.359
some meant in a car before we even arrive at
332
00:18:18.359 --> 00:18:31.640
the point. This roads are location so rough. I don't
333
00:18:31.640 --> 00:18:33.480
see how you can see all the holes at night?
334
00:18:33.559 --> 00:18:33.880
Harold?
335
00:18:36.440 --> 00:18:37.359
Why should I be.
336
00:18:37.799 --> 00:18:39.440
Just we're along a long way from time.
337
00:18:40.680 --> 00:18:42.880
I don't think i'd be nervous to do anythay, Harold,
338
00:18:44.480 --> 00:18:45.759
how much favor to the office?
339
00:18:46.000 --> 00:18:46.400
That are?
340
00:18:47.039 --> 00:18:48.559
The office is right next to the mind chair.
341
00:18:50.480 --> 00:18:52.279
I don't know whether to tell my interest in the
342
00:18:52.359 --> 00:18:55.160
land of or not magnant tonight I want to go
343
00:18:55.200 --> 00:18:56.920
through all the papers in the files.
344
00:18:57.359 --> 00:18:59.920
Well, you might make money in the end by not sell,
345
00:19:00.160 --> 00:19:02.920
but it's going to be very complicated being all snarled
346
00:19:02.960 --> 00:19:05.599
up in it. And you don't like the tale.
347
00:19:05.839 --> 00:19:07.039
That's that's what I'm worried about.
348
00:19:07.680 --> 00:19:10.440
I have enough money, Why make more of It's going
349
00:19:10.480 --> 00:19:11.480
to become too involved?
350
00:19:12.640 --> 00:19:13.160
What are you doing?
351
00:19:13.359 --> 00:19:15.200
See it takes time chewing them?
352
00:19:15.799 --> 00:19:16.799
No thanks, not right now?
353
00:19:18.000 --> 00:19:20.039
After we look over the reports, and if you tell
354
00:19:20.079 --> 00:19:21.519
me whether you think I could sell.
355
00:19:21.440 --> 00:19:23.160
Or not, chewing gum relaxes you.
356
00:19:23.640 --> 00:19:25.079
But I honestly don't want to see it.
357
00:19:25.119 --> 00:19:27.720
And I've stopped seating stepping, all right.
358
00:19:29.759 --> 00:19:30.880
You're a persistent woman.
359
00:19:32.240 --> 00:19:34.839
You always get away with them.
360
00:19:35.599 --> 00:19:38.880
Uh huh, that's nice, isn't it? Well, doesn't the gum
361
00:19:38.960 --> 00:19:39.440
taste good?
362
00:19:39.680 --> 00:19:40.119
Sure? Does?
363
00:19:40.960 --> 00:19:42.079
Only you tickle meself.
364
00:19:42.920 --> 00:19:44.839
You were more interested in a little sit of chewing
365
00:19:44.880 --> 00:19:46.559
gum than you were whether I could sell out.
366
00:19:47.119 --> 00:19:50.240
I'm really at hard just a woman here. I have
367
00:19:50.400 --> 00:19:57.519
to have my own way.
368
00:20:00.240 --> 00:20:03.359
There's seeds to the land. That's complicated, my lin.
369
00:20:03.559 --> 00:20:06.200
You're not accustom to a business life, herows. This is
370
00:20:06.240 --> 00:20:09.960
where my secretary work comes in handy. Now, those papers on.
371
00:20:10.000 --> 00:20:22.640
The pole, original deed of ownership, title guarantees were Oh
372
00:20:23.640 --> 00:20:27.319
excuse me, how long have went and working?
373
00:20:27.759 --> 00:20:33.000
About an hour? I feel granted rest for a couple
374
00:20:33.000 --> 00:20:33.440
of minutes.
375
00:20:34.200 --> 00:20:37.200
Ohkay, rested? I'm wait.
376
00:20:37.279 --> 00:20:40.400
I call it sleep sometimes a five minute, not just five?
377
00:20:40.480 --> 00:20:42.839
And right up, put your head down on the desk.
378
00:20:44.160 --> 00:20:51.920
Well, yes, that's it, Yes, that's the way.
379
00:20:53.400 --> 00:21:01.839
Harows harrows the cant of the night.
380
00:21:19.759 --> 00:21:20.039
Hello.
381
00:21:21.599 --> 00:21:23.079
She tried to dope me to night by giving me
382
00:21:23.200 --> 00:21:26.039
chewing gum while I was supposedly asleep of the factory.
383
00:21:26.079 --> 00:21:27.839
She went through the files with a camera which she
384
00:21:27.960 --> 00:21:31.039
fast and good malle Oh brother, will she's poisoned.
385
00:21:31.480 --> 00:21:33.079
It's time to poor action. Peters.
386
00:21:33.119 --> 00:21:35.039
Pretend to take her into your confidence and tell her
387
00:21:35.039 --> 00:21:35.680
what your planned.
388
00:21:35.960 --> 00:21:37.720
When are you coming over to Victoria Chief, the town
389
00:21:37.799 --> 00:21:38.799
of a hotbed of intrigues.
390
00:21:39.119 --> 00:21:41.119
I think i'll move over to night. If we're going
391
00:21:41.160 --> 00:21:43.359
to start bearing down, there's no telling what will happen.
392
00:22:04.319 --> 00:22:06.400
Why do you let me such an emergency message?
393
00:22:06.440 --> 00:22:10.839
Mag American house business. He's decided to share his land
394
00:22:10.880 --> 00:22:14.160
in the ballance. What why is he so foolish with
395
00:22:14.160 --> 00:22:16.960
a tay boy type dress? He would rather have quick money.
396
00:22:16.960 --> 00:22:19.319
Now we've got to buy that fool's land.
397
00:22:19.519 --> 00:22:22.000
I didn't sell its one hundred thousand dollars.
398
00:22:21.680 --> 00:22:23.759
Then offer to them I'll buy it myself.
399
00:22:24.319 --> 00:22:27.160
No, I think it becomes suspicious. But two nights to
400
00:22:27.279 --> 00:22:29.799
tonight he's going to hire the entire restaurant at the
401
00:22:29.799 --> 00:22:32.279
hotel for your dad to auction the land off.
402
00:22:32.559 --> 00:22:33.799
Who knows about his plan.
403
00:22:34.440 --> 00:22:38.039
Only so far. Tomorrow night you will announce the auction,
404
00:22:38.880 --> 00:22:40.880
and those who wish to attain he must even know.
405
00:22:41.079 --> 00:22:44.160
In the hotel box, ask the boy ticket.
406
00:22:44.640 --> 00:22:48.319
This will be our opportunity, magure perhaps one hundred two
407
00:22:48.400 --> 00:22:49.680
hundred thousand dollars.
408
00:22:49.920 --> 00:22:52.680
If you'll buy a property, we can resell a million
409
00:22:59.039 --> 00:23:01.799
hiding to Mexico. The Countess five Field of.
410
00:23:01.799 --> 00:23:06.440

411
00:23:06.480 --> 00:23:10.519

412
00:23:10.640 --> 00:23:16.920

413
00:23:17.200 --> 00:23:17.720
That is all.
414
00:23:19.519 --> 00:23:21.279
How are you coming with that list of applications there?
415
00:23:21.440 --> 00:23:22.599
But here the results is.
416
00:23:24.920 --> 00:23:27.279

00:23:35.240 --> 00:23:37.960
have been checked against our dragonet operation in Victoria. Right,
421
00:23:39.200 --> 00:23:43.000
all right, we will consider these fifty two. See which
422
00:23:43.000 --> 00:23:45.720
ones we issue tickets to. Most of the big ones
423
00:23:45.759 --> 00:23:47.480
I want to arrest, so we'll give them tickets to
424
00:23:47.480 --> 00:23:48.039
attend the auction.
425
00:23:48.880 --> 00:23:50.839
The small time we won't give tickets to.
426
00:23:50.920 --> 00:23:52.680
They will return to the States and think we don't
427
00:23:52.720 --> 00:23:57.160
know anything about them.
428
00:23:57.400 --> 00:24:06.480
Dol Dennis like a nineteen Billies Same No, No, Peter's
429
00:24:06.480 --> 00:24:13.039

434
00:24:36.359 --> 00:24:39.519
Sydney had a clever idea no lending his recund you off.
435
00:24:39.920 --> 00:24:42.160
I didn't realize how many people would show up, Lendon.
436
00:24:42.759 --> 00:24:45.200
And if it's saw so many international characters before you,
437
00:24:45.839 --> 00:24:46.759
they probably.
438
00:24:46.480 --> 00:24:48.359
Believe they're going to get a bargain when you put
439
00:24:48.400 --> 00:24:49.799
the ranch.
440
00:24:49.640 --> 00:24:50.200

442
00:24:54.519 --> 00:24:54.720
Hell?
443
00:24:55.640 --> 00:24:57.720
Who is that big man walking on in the middle
444
00:24:57.720 --> 00:24:58.119
of before.
445
00:24:59.160 --> 00:25:01.759
I believe that's mister Hunting over the United States contage
446
00:25:01.799 --> 00:25:02.440
fins h.
447
00:25:04.119 --> 00:25:06.720
I think I please forget me.
448
00:25:06.920 --> 00:25:10.519

Please you're attetion, Please, everybody in this restaurant asked for
450
00:25:18.240 --> 00:25:20.759
a ticket to attend this auction now. In order to
451
00:25:20.799 --> 00:25:24.079
conduct the proceedings with the utmost efficiency, all doors are
452
00:25:24.160 --> 00:25:27.799
lots an armed god are stationed outside the doors.
453
00:25:30.680 --> 00:25:35.200
Gentlemen and a few lady friends. I'd like to introduce.
454
00:25:34.880 --> 00:25:40.359
Myself David Harding of the United States Counterspy. We have
455
00:25:40.440 --> 00:25:42.799
been working here in Mexico with the content of the
456
00:25:42.880 --> 00:25:43.599
Mexican Police.
457
00:25:45.720 --> 00:25:47.039
You see, uranium.
458
00:25:46.759 --> 00:25:49.680
Deposits are very vital today, and it occurred to me
459
00:25:49.799 --> 00:25:53.440
that if a Mexican deposit were located Espionage agents of
460
00:25:53.559 --> 00:25:57.440
many countries. Spionage agents both big and small would come
461
00:25:57.559 --> 00:26:05.279
fucking to see what they could learn, apply or sell. Therefore,
462
00:26:05.440 --> 00:26:08.880
we took some worthless rant land out here, fifty miles
463
00:26:08.920 --> 00:26:12.279
from any large city, fut a fence around it, a
464
00:26:12.359 --> 00:26:15.759
couple of old buildings, and a smoke sack. Then we
465
00:26:15.920 --> 00:26:18.720
gave out information that uranium might have been cut.
466
00:26:20.119 --> 00:26:22.839
We didn't add that it might have been. But what.
467
00:26:26.440 --> 00:26:28.880
I'd like to ask my assistant mister.
468
00:26:28.720 --> 00:26:29.720
Peters to stand up.
469
00:26:31.640 --> 00:26:37.680
You you that's right, miss Nugnant, and you stand up too.
470
00:26:38.400 --> 00:26:41.279
I'd like to remind you all were not in another pooling.
471
00:26:41.880 --> 00:26:53.079
Stand up. And now mister Dressler stand up. We have
472
00:26:53.240 --> 00:26:53.880
a record on.
473
00:26:53.960 --> 00:26:56.640
Every person in this cafe, and I am placing you
474
00:26:56.839 --> 00:26:59.759
all under the rest by the United States government foreste lives.
475
00:27:00.519 --> 00:27:04.799
But you, Magna Lawton and you carle Him Dressler, I'm
476
00:27:04.839 --> 00:27:06.960
placing YouTube under arrest for a murder.
477
00:27:07.279 --> 00:27:11.519
Now was the murder of pool Harding, the.
478
00:27:11.599 --> 00:27:12.440
Murderer of lives.
479
00:27:12.599 --> 00:27:14.319
Chanceler. He fell from his past.
480
00:27:14.359 --> 00:27:17.000
It was an accident, and tell him Peters, I.
481
00:27:17.119 --> 00:27:18.799
Was hiding about one hundred yards distance.
482
00:27:19.839 --> 00:27:21.960
I saw you Dressler and Magnet set the whole.
483
00:27:21.920 --> 00:27:24.079

The Windowreatler said, the rest of you, there's the window
486
00:27:38.640 --> 00:27:39.799
Dressler's flight to jump through.
487
00:27:40.960 --> 00:27:43.839
There's the door, planes.
488
00:27:43.599 --> 00:27:45.880
Waiting outside to take you back to the United States.
489

490
00:27:52.960 --> 00:27:53.720

Listen tomorrow night over the same network to the Lone Ranger.
522
00:30:22.400 --> 00:30:23.640
Welcome Back Well.
523
00:30:23.759 --> 00:30:27.480
I thought a really entertaining episode and after the stuff
524
00:30:27.519 --> 00:30:32.319
we've been dealing with FHA. It was not to get
525
00:30:32.400 --> 00:30:39.519
into something that really felt like a big counter spy operation.
526
00:30:39.799 --> 00:30:46.119
I mean, we had counterspy countering spies. That's been a while,
527
00:30:46.440 --> 00:30:50.480
and so I like that, and the plot is really
528
00:30:50.920 --> 00:30:56.759
entertaining and the reveal is satisfying of the elaborate plan
529
00:30:56.960 --> 00:31:01.160
that Harding put together. Now, obviously, in terms of real
530
00:31:01.279 --> 00:31:07.000
life implications, this would be difficult to pull off, as
531
00:31:07.680 --> 00:31:12.519
even though you've got the Mexican government cooperating, your having
532
00:31:12.759 --> 00:31:18.480
US agents arrest people in Mexico and counterintelligence age, it
533
00:31:18.559 --> 00:31:21.799
seem to be a little bit more subtle and play
534
00:31:22.759 --> 00:31:27.079
a different sort of game. But you know, I will
535
00:31:27.240 --> 00:31:31.240
gladly just been my disbelief on this because it was fun.
536
00:31:31.759 --> 00:31:36.000
I do kind of question Peters not figuring out what
537
00:31:36.279 --> 00:31:41.680
was going on because I was and Harding was dropping hits.
538
00:31:42.440 --> 00:31:48.319
And I also thought killing Jensen seemed like a dumb decision,
539
00:31:48.400 --> 00:31:50.839
at least doing it on the mission. I get that
540
00:31:51.000 --> 00:31:54.240
they were worried that he might start talking, but if
541
00:31:54.279 --> 00:31:56.920
he thought that was a big enough worry, it would
542
00:31:56.960 --> 00:31:59.880
have been better to have some fake mission that they
543
00:31:59.880 --> 00:32:03.880
were going on somewhere else where you could just focus
544
00:32:04.240 --> 00:32:07.480
on getting the murder done because they were aware that
545
00:32:07.680 --> 00:32:11.920
this location would be crawling with different agents, so there
546
00:32:12.119 --> 00:32:15.880
was a strong chance someone might see them, so that
547
00:32:16.079 --> 00:32:18.759
decision seemed a bit off, But other than that, I
548
00:32:18.839 --> 00:32:20.759
thought the episode worked rather well.
549
00:32:21.000 --> 00:32:23.200
Now let's talk a little bit about.
550
00:32:23.000 --> 00:32:28.240
The sponsorship situation, and this is an interesting era for
551
00:32:28.519 --> 00:32:32.720
the program, as it was airing twice a week, which
552
00:32:33.039 --> 00:32:38.400
was indicative of its popularity. It was certainly not unprecedented,
553
00:32:38.920 --> 00:32:42.559
but definitely noteworthy. I think this is a really good
554
00:32:42.680 --> 00:32:46.279
show for that sort of thing, because in terms of
555
00:32:46.680 --> 00:32:53.079
ongoing cast, you just have Don McLoughlin and Mandel Kramer,
556
00:32:53.839 --> 00:32:58.839
and generally about half the script is carried by the
557
00:32:58.920 --> 00:33:01.960
bad guys. The show wasn't one of those that had
558
00:33:02.200 --> 00:33:06.200
only one rider. So if the ratings and the interest
559
00:33:06.400 --> 00:33:10.599
and the sponsors are all there, then yeah, why not. Pepsi,
560
00:33:10.720 --> 00:33:14.920
of course, is one of those iconic companies still around
561
00:33:15.200 --> 00:33:18.880
this day. Of course, on Great Detectives we get to
562
00:33:19.119 --> 00:33:24.319
hear some of their late fifties ads on Johnny Dollar.
563
00:33:24.599 --> 00:33:29.440
But these late forties ones are interesting, in particular the
564
00:33:29.759 --> 00:33:34.759
whole issue about two glasses for the price of one,
565
00:33:35.000 --> 00:33:38.720
and that's an interesting promotion. Of course, as someone who
566
00:33:38.799 --> 00:33:44.480
grew up during the eighties, twelve ounce cans were the norm,
567
00:33:44.599 --> 00:33:49.920
with even bigger bottles sixteen or twenty usually, But back
568
00:33:50.240 --> 00:33:55.960
in the late nineteen forties, Coca Cola standard bottle was
569
00:33:56.400 --> 00:34:02.440
six point five ounces, So Pepsi's twelve ounce was a deal,
570
00:34:02.880 --> 00:34:05.359
and it set them up really as the sort of
571
00:34:05.960 --> 00:34:09.199
value brand and like, hey, you know, you can have
572
00:34:09.599 --> 00:34:13.039
a couple people over, you can share a Pepsi. Now,
573
00:34:13.119 --> 00:34:16.599
of course it's hard to find a soda drinker who
574
00:34:17.360 --> 00:34:22.119
would not be able to finish a twelve ounce glass
575
00:34:22.199 --> 00:34:25.639
of their favorite beverage, but again, this was a big
576
00:34:25.719 --> 00:34:29.079
deal back in nineteen forty nine. Now it's time to
