Fresh off our Nocpix thermal night in store, we dragged Tim from Groundforce upstairs, hit record and hoped for the best. Rusty was running late, nobody was officially hosting and the lights cut out halfway through. So yeah, a pretty standard episode.
Tim has worked with most of the big thermal brands. He gives us his take on why Pulsar fell behind the Chinese brands and which Nocpix model is outselling the rest by a mile. He also explains why the look of a thermal sells it more than people like to admit, and how firmware updates are keeping people loyal to a brand. Then he tells us about the time he was dropped in a tree stand in a Polish forest at night by a guide who spoke no English. There were badgers, there were wolves, and nobody told him when he’d be picked up. To wrap it up he explains how he just got his solo skydiving licence, and we work out which of us is never jumping out of a plane.
