Speaker 1: We've got the return of Ashburton Market Days. G'day, Carol Johns.
00:00:03
Speaker 2: Hi, how are you, Luke?
00:00:04
Speaker 1: You're good. You had a count-up. How long have you been running this now?
00:00:07
Speaker 2: I've been doing it on my own for probably 13 years and maybe a bit longer.
00:00:16
Speaker 1: Have you ever had a wet day? You're such a tinny thing. You always seem to bring the sunshine out.
00:00:21
Speaker 2: No, not since I've been lucky, actually.
00:00:24
Speaker 3: I am lucky.
00:00:24
Speaker 1: Very lucky.
00:00:25
Speaker 2: Wow. Yep.
00:00:26
Speaker 1: So weather's on side. There's more than 100 stalls coming to join you. What are some of you looking forward to?
00:00:32
Speaker 2: Always the good ones. You know, the people that come on Facebook wanting their mini doughnuts and bits and pieces. We've got lots of new stalls. We've got Prickly Pear who does gourmet food, Hidden Gem, Pony Lane. So there's probably about 20 new stalls for people to come and look at. You can buy everything from jewellery to food. It's a Christmas present. If it's not here, you don't need it.
00:01:01
Speaker 1: Everybody's moving into position as we speak by the sound of it. You're already puffed. Gets underway at nine o'clock.
00:01:07
Speaker 2: Does it? Yeah, it does. Been here since six. So get on down because this will be the last time it'll be held here.
00:01:15
Speaker 1: Ooh, why's that?
00:01:18
Speaker 2: Just costs. Costs of prohibiting it from being viable.
00:01:23
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:01:24
Speaker 1: You've got to close a few roads around the area too, right?
00:01:26
Speaker 3: Yeah, road closure, permits, car parks. Yeah, look, it's just....
00:01:33
Speaker 2: And I'm already one of the dearest, you know, for people.
00:01:37
Speaker 3: So, yeah, it's just.
00:01:39
Speaker 2: This will be the last one in this location.
00:01:42
Speaker 1: Well, do make the most of it then. I hear that you're embracing the school holidays as well. There's some stuff for the kids. Yeah, there is.
00:01:47
Speaker 2: There's little merry-go-rounds and chair a plane and... A helicopter, I think. And, of course, we've got the all-ever-popular face painting and all that sort of stuff as well.
00:02:01
Speaker 1: Looking forward to getting on down the South. 9am until 4pm at Bering Square East at the final time. Ashburton Market Days is going to be held there. Go and soak up the sun with Carol.
