In this episode of the Blockchain Real Estate Podcast, host Michael Flight speaks with Simon Barnby, Chief Marketing Officer at Archax (https://archax.com/), about the evolving landscape of security token trading in the UK and beyond.
Archax, the first FCA-regulated exchange for tokenized assets in the UK, has been at the forefront of bridging the gap between traditional finance and blockchain-based investment opportunities. Simon shares the journey of Archax from its inception in 2018 to its current expansion into Europe, the U.S., and the UAE, positioning itself as a leader in institutional security token trading.
Throughout the conversation, Simon discusses the increasing traction around tokenized money market funds, which are making institutional-grade investments more accessible. He explains how Archax is enabling the trading and custody of tokenized real-world assets, including funds, structured financial products, and innovative instruments like tokenized uranium and GBP-backed stablecoins. The discussion also explores the potential for tokenized real estate, the role of regulation in shaping the digital asset space, and the integration of DeFi concepts into a regulated trading environment.
As the market for digital securities continues to evolve, Simon offers valuable insights into how blockchain technology is reshaping financial markets, creating new opportunities for investors, institutions, and asset managers. He also highlights Archax’s future plans, including a U.S. broker-dealer acquisition, expansion into derivatives trading, and the development of regulated DeFi platforms. Tune in to learn about the future of security token trading and its impact on global financial markets.
