درباره این اپیزود
You make the decision. You know what you need to do.
Then the discomfort hits.
Suddenly, your brain has 15 extremely intelligent reasons why the decision might be wrong.
Maybe the timing isn’t right. Maybe you need more data. Maybe you should rethink the strategy. Maybe there’s a smarter opportunity you should pursue instead.
But did reality actually change... or did discomfort change?
In this episode, I’m breaking down one of the most dangerous forms of self-sabotage I see in ambitious founders: when fear stops sounding like fear and starts sounding like strategy.
I share a very real example from my own life as I started building a new e-commerce brand. I had the concept, the mood board, supplier conversations and the beginnings of a plan. Then my mind started producing increasingly convincing reasons why I shouldn’t do it.
Some of those concerns were legitimate.
Some were fear dressed up as logic.
And learning to tell the difference is a critical part of self-mastery as a founder.
In this episode, we explore:
• Why self-sabotage rarely looks like obvious self-sabotage
• How intelligent people rationalise avoidance
• The difference between conscious strategy changes and emotional renegotiation
• Why discomfort often appears immediately after commitment
• How overthinking can become an attempt to regain control
• The question I now use when I catch myself wanting to abandon a decision: Did reality change, or did discomfort change?
Because sometimes changing direction is intelligent.
And sometimes you’re negotiating with the exact discomfort you need to learn how to hold if you want to become the person capable of building what you say you want.
