Between Sundays Podcast: Well, there we go again. everybody. We're Still know how to get rid the intro or you, you, get a new intro and you still don't know how to begin, ⁓ but yeah. ⁓ yeah, still same there. Still same, issue, but man, what a what a we've had so far. Lord's been moving and I know we come on here and say that a lot, but man. been moving, been working, been comforting. Well, if you get to a place where you don't say that, that's a, that's a rough place to be. Exactly. You know, exactly. been comforting and, and that comfort is just being at with decisions that, that, that me and you have both made, and that the has seeking his guidance ⁓ and seeking. Handling things that I truly believe the way he would have us handle him. and if not, I mean, we will, we'll have that chastisement, but is always for the best. Well, and if it's from him and it's in the right way, that correction, as we were talking about earlier, before we even started, it'd been probably an hour and a half, two hours ago. correction can turn into enlightenment real quick, you know, begin to, begin to learn things and begin to discern things in a. A different manner, a better manner, his, his manner in his way and, and truly to self just to be a man the past two weeks, the thing that I've not been able to. And I've said that so many times and not even just realized what I was saying. It almost like a Christianity cliche. and not really let it sink in like something that's been big on my heart for the past year, year and a half. And then it's really just captivated me in the last couple of weeks is, and, and, and this is what we're talking about, about different ways and different methods to approach things is it's not to be demeaning. It's it's to prayerfully be convicting. And, and, and just as we talked about last week, and if you didn't listen to last week, Go back and listen to it. Cause yeah, you know, shared our heart about the way God's working and not looking to be judgmental over things. yeah, the, the, the, the title of last week's this is the first time I'm telling people don't judge a book by its cover. Don't don't judge a podcast by its title because, the and with all long suffering and doctrine was towards ourselves. And the key word there was exhorting. You notice it wasn't, we touched upon reproving and rebuking, but it was mainly. Well, and that's, that's what I was saying there a minute ago of the things that have been, I've been going back in and doing more in depth research and looking just cause the burden that's on my heart for Roman Catholics. It's not meant to be main, it's not meant to be demeaning, it's not meant to be judgmental. There is a true Bert because that's that's 1.3 to 1.4 billion people that ⁓ believe in that doctrine. And not to say I have right answers. It's to say that Jesus is the right way. we're going to on this for a minute. I feel moved to be able to do it. I've been reading a been reading multiple books over last couple of weeks. But one in particular, it's by O.C. Lambert. and O.C. Lambert's book is, and it's a two volume and this one has both of them combined. So it's extremely exhaustive and very, very long and in-depth with it. It's Catholicism Against Itself. And basically it does is it ⁓ breaks things and it takes quotes from the writings from the Magisterium, quotes and paragraphs from the within just shows what the true doctrine is ⁓ the doctrine of error. And what I've noticed in doing other research looking at, mean, I've spent hours looking at Catholic apologists and how they look at things. And this be blanket term, but I do know that the majority of the time when a Catholic apologist is pushed on certain doctrines that the church promotes. There's a lot of ad hominem. a lot of discrediting. The person that is coming to them in love. Now, are there people that don't come in love? Yeah. And could I have been guilty of that before? Absolutely. But come in ⁓ because of the earnest concern for their souls. Because It is a deception. There's so much to look at. mean, we could go deep, deep, deep into the wells of the Eucharist being offered up and the mass being a perpetuatory sacrifice that Jesus makes, that he's present and he... comes again and we're told in scripture that there's only ⁓ second of Jesus's coming to dwell amongst men. know, there's the catching away. That's why I've started to get away from the word rapture because now we're going over to Latin. if you run into somebody, ⁓ This is an apologetics lesson and I'm going to try to land this plane. I know I'm all over the place. I just got so much to talk about. well, that word's not in the Bible, you know, ⁓ in my mind, I'm sitting here thinking going, well, let's use Bible words to Now they're that takes away that argument. I think that's a good apologetic tactic to be able to use. So instead of describing rapture, say the caught up, ⁓ catching instead of using the word Trinity, use the word Godhead. is a Bible word. Trinity not, Godhead is. Rapture is not, catching away is. So, begin to define things in those terms to where I'm not taking some out... It's kind of almost like two of, you once saved, always saved. Because what I've noticed with these Catholic apologists is the idea behind Scripture alone being the preeminent, ⁓ defining that we must go to, to see God has revealed to us? Well, absolutely. But what I've is, is the claim continuously comes out from Catholic apologists that, Scripture alone is nowhere in the Bible. Okay, well, let's stop using that. You know, let's, let's stop. Let's, let's go to passages and show how everything fits together. Like, well, mean, if, if they're going to change the rules of, the rules of lack of better words of the argument or of the debate, they're, they're, putting the just play by their rules. They're putting the proof of burden you and, evidence. So those are little holes that they try to poke. and it's not just Catholics. can be seventh day Adventist. could be Jehovah's witnesses. It could be Mormons and somebody may be listening. This goes, how could you group all of those together? Well, it's all air doctrine. So you're saying that you can only be an independent fundamental Baptist to be set. No. No, there's people in the Catholic church that can be saved the doctrine of the Catholic church. Yep. There's people that are in the seventh day Adventist church that can be saved despite the doctrine of the seventh day Adventist church. this is, this is, if we to put barriers down and say, no, you got to be in rural Appalachia as an independent fundamental bad. no different. You're a cult. Now you hold, you hold supremacy and you hold the rules in your hand. And ultimately all you're doing is not even discrediting, but you're just, you're ultimately just slapping the Lord in the face. Yeah. For lack of a better term, you know, you're just, you're fighting fire with fire in that moment because you go, okay, well the Pope being the vicar of Christ and apostolic secession that's been passed down, you can't pull as you're the only authority. Well, you start to make that argument if you go in that direction. I'm talking like deep rooted. you can't get saved outside of the King James Bible. You can't get saved outside of church. Those things are prevalent. And if we believe that as an IFB primarily, is it an independent fundamental that I identify as? No. I identify as a Bible believing follower of Christ who's purchased by his blood. Amen. That's where we need to go first. you know, if you ask a Catholic, are you Christian? Exactly. They'll say, I'm Catholic. Well, I don't want to come up. Somebody say, are you a follower of Christ? Sure. I'm a, I'm an independent fundamental Baptist. Well, that's the same thing, man. Like it's just, it's on a different foot. It's, like the, it's, it's like the label just gives you power. Yeah. when the Word should give you power. So, you know, looking at that and, know, Mary and Church, and it's all as we're teaching through the book of Revelation on Wednesday nights and then as we've been going through the book of Daniel here on the podcast you know, Babylon its resurfaces and the horror of Babylon that's in Revelation chapter 17 and And just to be aware of the doctrines that are there and to not have eternal security. To you could live your life as a good Catholic and follow the sacraments and then, you you've lived for 80 years and then on your, you know, right before your deathbed, you commit a mortal sin and you could fall out of the graces of God. And you know, that's, that's tough to stomach. why, you know, again, a good apologetic tactic is instead of saying once saved, always saved, talk about, have redemption through his blood. And then we are sealed with the Holy spirit of promise that it's, it's the earnest that's given us, you know, until the day of redemption. Well, you know what I just did? I just defined once saved, always saved, but I've not given them. ⁓ ad hominem argument or what they would consider a straw man argument be like well scriptures your supreme authority it's nowhere in there but what you just did was give them all scripture exactly so that ⁓ know what think we can do and this is what goes into studying to show yourself approved is not just go with cliches or nomenclatures that we've made that are their man-made words and statements and phrases and philosophy. And I'm so guilty of that. But we all are. Yeah. Every one of us is. know, how many times have I said once saved always saved, you know, and use that? Well, that's not listed in the Bible. The doctrine is there. Well, if the doctrine is there, how did you get it? Well, I got it from this passage, this passage and this passage. Well, then that's what you should do. Yeah. So which one's going to hold more weight, you know? If I'm going to talk about why Christ is not present in the Eucharist and why transubstantiation is blasphemous I'm willing to go to the proof texts that they will use. And I'll go to John chapter 6, but then I also want to go to Hebrews. I want to look at chapter 9 and, you know, I want to look at chapter 10 too, and ⁓ Jesus being, He once for in those ways. If I want to talk about how, you know, we're hermeneutically just looking at the idea of purgatory and being able to be purged from your sins, one of the proof texts that is in the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church is 1 Corinthians chapter 3, which speaks about the judgment seat of Christ. But, like, ⁓ how do this. It talks about 1 Corinthians 3 verse 12, Now if any man build upon this foundation, gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay and stubble, man's... What's that next word? Work. Okay. Does that have anything to do with standing in Christ? No. Does that have anything to do with your salvation? No. Does that have anything to do with eternal and security? No. No, it has to do with your work. Yeah. Then you can keep reading, work shall be made manifest for the day shall declare it declare what the work because it shall be revealed by fire and the fire shall try every man's what what sort it is. If any man's work work abide, which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. This nothing to do with now. Here's where they get it. Verse 15, if a man's work shall be burned, He shall suffer loss, but he himself shall be saved yet. So as by fire, that's not talking about your soul. Having to have indulgences paid by people that are still here to get your time out of purgatory. But, but it goes back to what we've talked about repetitively. If you get a doctrine, okay. If you get a doctrine. You pull passages that are similar to it. You begin to rip those passages out of context. You put them in the box that has that doctrines label on it. And when it's full, say, look, here's what the Bible teaches. and, and, and do it in that way. How many times is work mentioned there? Well, then you can go into the book of Romans and see that you're, you're not justified. So what's that word justified me? Just as if I'd never seen it. Yeah, you're, you're absolved. It's all done because of what? Christ's imputed righteousness unto you, not infused. Impute. That's something I didn't know they look at it as infused. No, it has to be covering. But do you see what that does? What's another growing rapidly denomination that talks about infused righteousness? The NAR. The NAR. Yep. And you can see how they're starting to link hands and starting to use things together. That's building to that one world religion. I mean, those two, go that you can hand in hand. They're basic. mean, you could sit there and look at of the NAR and just be like, they're, they're almost to me, they can be seen as just a little bit more enthusiastic Catholics. Yeah. in certain things that they do. But what, you got to see the grand scheme of things and what history tells us. Cause what prepped that to be able to enter in was Vatican too, in the sixties to start to everything broke out. It starts to look at more ecumenical, you know, ⁓ the, of separated brethren to start to, to back away from some of the rigor. there's Catholic churches today that will perform and use contemporary worship music their services and do those things. You know, if I'm going to talk about the repetitious prayers, know, of reciting in vain repetitions, I need to take them to Matthew chapter six and I need to show the context of what it looks like. Vain babblings. Yeah. And if Christ is sacrificed on that altar again, every Sunday and his blood and his body are present. Well, there's no shedding blood, Hebrews 9 tells us there's what? There's no remission of sins. So how can I be absolved by those sins? And that's where power control and the honing in of it is, because who has to be the one to present the Eucharist? Who has to be the one to baptize it has to come from the church it has to come from the priest so what if I don't have a priest that's where you get into those well we just leave that in the hands of God's graces are we getting that from how many people is that gonna send to hell you what I mean And it's just, mean, you can go to the book of Romans and see, right here in Romans chapter four, okay, every Calvinist reform theology, the doctrines of grace, the five point tulip, they'll want to take you to Romans nine and they want to talk about the hardening of Pharaoh's heart and Jacob, Jacob have I loved and he saw if I hated, but read verse 22 through 24 for me. Romans 4, and therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him. So stop right there. That takes the other argument about imputed righteousness, and if you miss this, you can start to... twist doctrine and it can be a dangerous road. It can be like Hymenaeus and Philetus there 2 Timothy chapter who have erred and have overthrown the faith of some. So we use this example last Wednesday night teaching that Phineas ⁓ was God's righteousness. You can find that in Psalm 106 for his actions that he did in Numbers 25 when he rammed the spear ⁓ through the Hebrew who took the Midianite woman and began to have sexual relations while the elders of Israel are outside the temple door weeping and repenting. Phineas goes up and rams them both through. It says it went through the man and went through the woman's belly. Killed them both. And God imputes his righteousness to him there. But Abraham in Romans chapter four, verse 23 tells you is different. David is different because David's mentioned in Romans chapter four. You just read it. Now, it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed. So whose sake is it written for? It's written for our sake in the church age. Now read verse 24. was going to say, but 24 brings it all together. for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we stop. No, you're good. This is where I want to get to about Calvinism. That is a big two letter word right there. If. Yeah. If what? if we believe on Him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead. this also shows us, you can read through the first three chapters of Romans, that faith is not a work. See, want to try to distort that and say, well, you're taking ownership and you're stealing glory from God. They actually believe that the Holy Spirit ⁓ goes you because you're dead, you're regenerated, then he makes it able for you to believe if you're the elect. That is performing theological gymnastics to try to get to that. How was that sealed? Well, okay, so big word there, right? If imputed. let scripture scripture. Look at ⁓ chapter one. So if the Holy Spirit, if I'm talking about Calvinism, are the things I'm just giving y'all a little apologetics look on how to speak to some Catholics, speak to some Calvinists, just not because we want to prove a right, not because we want to prove their wrong, ⁓ it's because we care about their souls. And we love the Lord. Yes. So if the Holy Ghost has to get inside of me, then... make me to where I'm able to call, look at verse 13, in whom ye also trusted... What's that next word? After. After that. After that. Ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also... What's that word? After. After that ye believed, you were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise. See, this is not the Old Testament. This is not Saul. The Holy Spirit can't jump on you and jump back out. I mean, just as David, Psalm 51, do not take your spirit. Yeah, I think it's in verse 11. Do not take your spirit from me. So how do we how do we get that? How do we get there? And you see, it sounds right and it sounds good. But if we saw there that we get Christ imputed righteousness, if we believe. And then after you've trusted, after you've heard the gospel, after you've believed, now how can the Holy Spirit come in and quicken somebody? Because it's just in the next chapter, you hath he quickened who were dead in trespasses and sins. How can he do that if they haven't believed? Exactly. And if I'm dead, one of the things that... I even heard RC Sproul do this one time. And this is, this was one of the red flags that made me stop listening to him and get away from all this, just saying, well, that's just soteriology differences. Soteriology is the study of salvation. and I can bypass those things. He took Ephesians chapter two and it John chapter 11 with the story of the raising of Lazarus. Now Lazarus, because here's, here's, me, me make full circle. that only those who God calls, which the Holy Ghost has to convict you, there's a difference in indwelling and coming into somebody and the conviction that falls upon a man through the lens of your conscious. You can have your conscious seared as with a hot iron and cloud that lens that the light can shine through, but he's going to convict you. Says that he hath quickened you who were dead in trash. Well, Lazarus was dead. Lazarus couldn't do anything. Lazarus couldn't reach up. until Jesus called him. But here's what also, Lizers couldn't do. Just keep reading verse two. Where in time, space, you walk. Can a dead man walk the course of the world? Can dead man do the things and have conversations of lust in the flesh for fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind? Can a dead man be as by nature, the children of wrath? No, no. So Here's what it boils down to. And this is where we have to be careful. Even as independent fundamental Baptist, number one, you should be a Bible believer. Just because I like to listen to a certain preacher and I think he's biblically sound, I still got to try that spirit. You still got to do that to us. You can't just say, well, they're a trusted source. I'm buying into what they say a hundred percent. No, no, no, no. Go to the word. Um, the word is supreme. Second Timothy, uh, 3 16 and three 15 talk about the supremacy of the word. even heard this argument that that word scripture is just referring to the old Testament. It's, it's not referring to, this was a argument. Yeah. ⁓ it's not referring to the new Testament writing. So Paul's not saying, you know, ⁓ your first Pope agreed that Paul's writings were indeed scripture. It's the same word that Jesus used. So here's ⁓ Here's where I'm going with this. The same word, I think the Greek word, and I don't like to go to the Greek, the Greek word is grafe that is used there in 2 Timothy 3.16. Well, it's the same word that Jesus uses about Scripture in the Gospels. So, if wanting to go, well, he's just talking about the Old Testament. This where this apologetic tactic comes in because it's a house of cards. If you can knock one over, the whole thing's going to fall down. ⁓ What does the Catholic Bible have in it? The Apocrypha. The Apocrypha has 1st 2nd Maccabees, has the Book of Tobit, it has the Book of Wisdom, it has Ecclesiasticus. There are 73 books instead of the 66. Okay? If that word that you're wanting to say and go, see, this is the thought process of asking questions to help with the argument falling in upon itself. Well, that word means Old Testament. That's what he's saying. Okay, let's run with that for a minute. Go to Luke chapter 24 for me. So what is the Old Testament? See, if I can prove to you... that your Bible is off and what scripture truly is, then there's a hole within what your doctrine is. Luke 24, 44, and he said unto them, this is Jesus on the road to Emmaus, these are the words which I spake unto you while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which are written, and we can... is the Scriptures? If the Scriptures is just the Old Testament, stay with me here. If the Scriptures is just the Old Testament, look at the list that Jesus gives. Yeah. The law of Moses and in the prophets and in the Psalms concerning me. Well, you know what that does? That takes the Old Testament. You know what it doesn't include? And you know what he doesn't affirm right there? The intertestimum period after the book of Malachi was written and finished in 430 until the time of Jesus's birth, where the Maccabees come and were the apocryphal books. Jesus didn't affirm them as authoritative scripture. So if now you're wanting to say, scripture is just the Old Testament, well, you don't even have the right Old Testament. see what I'm saying? You see where I get to that line of thinking there? And now, now you can start to dismantle the things and show, well, no, scripture has to be our sole authority because the magisterium of your church has said and affirmed that these are doctrinally inspired. They're not Deuterocanical books that are the second canon and written in. I don't care if it was talking about the, uh, Oh, what was the ecumenical council in 390? I had it on the tip of my tongue. Um, no, that's, three 25. Um, No, that's in the 1500s. Hippo. The, the, we're, all the cannon of the book. You know, we get the, it wasn't until the 300s or the four. that the Catholic Church gave us the Bible. Yeah, when they said, you can have this in there, and they took books out. Yeah, all those different things. So if the Apocrypha was inspired scripture, and we're talking about Jesus has said multiple times, have you not read? It is written, what thus saith the scriptures, using that same form, and we can agree that it's the Old Testament, why is the Apocrypha not mentioned here? I mean, that means it's not inspired. So all of a sudden now you've lost a leg in the argument. And the argument is not to say, look how much I know and look how better I am. I care about you so when I want you to get out of this false teaching. Yeah, it's not that. I think that's been the biggest thing to kind of circle back to last week's episode and some of the stuff that's happened. It's been, um, basically looking at what is questioning. and really inwardly at what has been my motivations. Has motivation been to be right or is motivation ⁓ to be simply... Winning. Yeah, ⁓ winning or for I love the Lord and I love scripture because the Lord inspired scripture because it is from the Lord and so when you start to mess with scripture Yes, that's going to get me upset because I'm going to defend the man who laid everything out for me. Amen. So just as I was just saying, going back to the original point, thinking about this, well, Jesus doesn't use the word scripture out there. Go to to verse 27. What does verse 27 say in Luke chapter 24? At the beginning. and all the prophets, He expounded unto them in the scriptures the same thing concerning Himself." Well, is all in contextual speaking to the disciples on the road to Emmaus. You can't separate 27 from 44. So what he says is right here, beginning at Moses and all the He expounded unto them all in all the it's the same thing that he defines in 44. And there's nothing about Jewish folktale, there's nothing about apocryphal books, there's nothing from the intertestimale period that is mentioned there. He affirms Genesis to Malachi, excluding because that's not where they fit. Yeah. Well, I mean, I've got a... 24 or 27, I've got actually a note written down that exact Jesus did not reveal himself. He used scripture to reveal himself. But what did he use? But time out, you're following a man more than you're following... you say, well, Jesus is the head of the church and Jesus... what did he use to affirm who he was? He used scripture. And, and in that book by OC Lambert, Catholicism Against Itself, in one of the Magisterium writings, I'll have to find it and we can talk about it next week. It says that you can't find Christ in the scriptures alone. It has to come from the teachings of the church and the traditions. Here, another sticking point and then we'll move on to Daniel. I promise this is just, this is on my heart and I wanted to go to the book. Maccabees. No sir. No, I don't have that one. Don't be coronal. I sorry. Go to the book of 1st Timothy in chapter 3. ⁓ right here. All 1st Timothy chapter 3 verse 15 it says, if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, What's rest that verse say? The pillar and ground of the truth. Now that sounds like the church does have some authority. Yeah. The pillar and the ground. That means it's not only the foundation, but the building that's on top of that foundation. This is where it is helpful sometimes to go see what these words actually mean. And then it really helps. to be able to go and see what different Bible translations say and see how that doctrine is being produced and why it is leading to a one world Bible for a one world government and a one world religion. It talks about it being the foundation and the bulwark the truth in other Bible translations. If you see that R says the pillar and the ground of truth, those words in the Greek, They're actually meant not as the foundation, but as a support, as an upholding. The foundation's already been laid. The cornerstone who has now become the chief of the corner that has now become the head is Christ. The church's job is to help uphold, not to be the foundation, not to be the root, not to be the base. It's to build upon that cornerstone. To build upon it. A pillar. Okay. Go build your house on a bunch of pillars. It's down. It's fall down. It's not solid. The only solid is not the rock that Peter is because that would, again, we have to, we have to pull mental gymnastics to get to a conclusion to say, no, Jesus is established because then he gives the keys to all the disciples who will become the apostles. Here's the problem there. If he's given it to all of them at that time in Matthew chapter 16, Who else is present? Judas. And all the disciples are the ones who receive it. we're going to, we're going to go, we're going to go that route to say, know what I mean? So this is why guys, it's extremely important to study yourself approved and to be ready, sanctify the Lord in your heart. This is the last verse I'm going to read about this. And then we'll move on to Daniel chapter seven. It's in the book of first Peter. It's chapter three verse 15, but sanctify the Lord in your hearts. Hold him ⁓ set apart, be separated unto him in your hearts to be ready always to give an ⁓ answer every man that asketh you a reason for the hope that is within you with meekness and fear. We don't always sanctify the Lord in our hearts before we're ready to give an answer. Before we're ready to go defend. we're ready to go earnestly contend for the faith that's been handed down to the saints. We don't always say it to uphold him. So how am I going to uphold him? Sometimes we don't use meekness either. Meekness and fear. then, then listen in verse 16, having a good conscience. that whereas they speak evil of you as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. For it is better if the will of God be so that you suffer for well-doing for evildoing. So I get spit on, blasted, they may call me a heretic, they may say I'm... grounded, they may say I have no authority. I see that is it's better to keep your mouth shut. Well no, it's better to sanctify the Lord and give the right defense and come with meekness as opposed to getting in your flesh and letting that contend come into now we're in a fight. You what I mean? Yeah. So, may speak evil of you and it's better that they speak evil of you for doing good, sanctifying the Lord in your heart, being ready to give an answer to anybody that asks a question of you. And speak evil of you for doing evil. For me and you, okay, you're Calvinist and they want to create this false dichotomy. Calvinist or you're Armenian, you're either reformed or you're... No, I'm just, I'm Bible believing I'm not attributing it to any, again, church father, quote unquote. Those are early church leaders. I'm going to give you this truth. I'm going to give it to you in meekness. I'm going to have fear of the Lord. I'm going to give it to you in love. And I would rather you run me down and take one on the cheek and turn the other cheek about it than to me get riled up in my flesh. and try to start a fight with you and be in that way. Now I'm not doing it with long suffering and doctrine. doing it from my place as the point of authority. Does that make sense? ⁓ yeah. Yeah. I know that probably took longer than I could keep going, but we probably need to go to Daniel chapter seven, but those are just some things. And, I thought that would be good. I mean, we're talking about equipping with doctrine. mean, being, being an apologist, ⁓ again, ⁓ not I don't like to go to the Greek, that's where that, apoly, poly Gia, Apolygeos, the Greek word there for that giving a defense, an answer, be ready to be able to do that. Being an apologist. We're not apologizing. I'm sorry. I believe what I believe. No, it's to come into defense of it. It's being instant. Yeah. And people may sit and I think we spoke about this last week. How do you contend with that? Getting riled up. Welcome to it. hard. And there are times ⁓ is it few and far between we And that's of the things of like the stern IFB, you know, would fall into that category of ⁓ the Bible thumping and, those names come from. Jesus turned over tables. ⁓ How often do you do Yeah. It wasn't every Sunday. It wasn't every time he stepped a pulpit. Back to if you're going to earnestly contend for this, why are you... the purpose for contending? are you contending? Because I believe this and I want them or I what the truth is because God has revealed the truth to me and I'm sanctifying the Lord in my heart and I want to see them saved. Yeah. Like if I'm going to get on to somebody about using Balaam as an example of how God can use certain people to do certain things and say, that's a what about. would be the same thing if I said, Jesus drove the money changers out of the temple with a whip. He did that twice. What else did he do in those three and a half years during that ministry? Yeah. He did a lot more, you know, well, Jesus said, woe to you hypocrites, you know, scribes and Pharisees and yeah, he gave that stern. Why did he do it to put them down? Or did he do it to tell them the truth and go, no, you're wrong here because look at what I said. Look at what the word of God has said and how was that manner being given? It's not every single time he spoke to somebody. didn't go to the Samaritan woman at the whale and go, you harlot, you say, did he call her Sam now? Absolutely. He said, go get your husband. Cause got, you've had five husbands and the one that you're with right now isn't your husband. But what if he had went up and started as shaming ⁓ Yeah. Yeah. ⁓ a, that's It's just a ⁓ pure picture meekness. I heard a sword, know to draw it. I heard pastor from a pulpit refer and excuse this, it's hard to not say it, refer to certain young women in the way that they were dressed as two bit horse. That is nothing. but indignant, fleshly indignant. I think righteous. a way to call that out. ⁓ If you see that as being immoral because of what the word of God says, and you're wanting to talk about modesty how people should dress and act and show our temple is not just, you know, what we eat and what we put into our body. It's how we present our body. We've got a banner on our chest as ambassadors of Christ. We've got the Holy Ghost dwelling within us. We should want to dress appropriately unto the Lord. what was the point in saying that that was you in your flesh, taking it out on somebody else. I mean, this goes right back to what we were talking about before we started recording. What I was mentioning to you, it's it's, we are called to have a balance, the and it needs to be equal of. Don't just be out there calling out sin. ⁓ just cause you can call it out, but you need to be just as loud about the things that you're pa- that, that the Lord has blessed you with about, about what you're passionate about just as much you're just as much as the same volume of things that, that you dislike. That's really hard to do. Yeah, it is. So we've made, we've made living for the Lord way easier than what it is. Well, you're going to turn people away from it. No, no, no, no. the peace, the security, but this mindset is, well, I'm a Christian now, everything's gonna be okay. No, my life didn't get hard till I became a Christian, but it's so worth it. It's so worth it. We got no problem with training camp for a sport being extremely brutal and hard. Two a days. Yeah. Like hard. They're all worth it when you win season. Those where I thought, yep, I'm going to die. Two full padded, two hour hard as you can go full contact practices. Yeah. And then you got a ring put on your hand at the end of the year. Yeah, that ⁓ awful. It worth it. It's worth it the end. Okay. Changing gears here. That didn't take long. Only 44 minutes. So Daniel chapter seven, think will what we should do today, we're not going to be able to give it the credit. And I think what we should do is probably just go through those first 14 verses and kind of elaborate and talk about the things that are here within it. Because it's, it's, it's a lot. Yeah. It is a whole lot. Well, it's you and I were talking about this before we started recording. you're what? ⁓ 38? 37 excuse me No, you're actually 38 because life begins at conception your birthdays in September. So you're actually there because I'm 34 We just virtue Okay, so We we could both live until we were in our 90s and just these 14 verses and study nothing else in scripture and never get to the end That's how exhaustive that's really any scripture because it's the word of God. we could never get to the end of it, but we're going to do our best here and I don't want to, we only get down to verse seven today, we'll take our time and go through the thing. we're, if we're going to do it correctly, just as, as if we preaching, need to expose it. like two Sundays ago, I looked at the clock. I'm my watch. Yeah. And it was, there was about seven minutes before 12. And only on point. Yeah. And I was like, I didn't care. But the only reason I thought about it is because you said something you were like, Oh, I need to hurry. got to hurry. I got to stop saying that. Um, I do love when I say that in some of the, yeah. Yeah. But every time you say it, all I ever hear is you're good. Go ahead. Keep going. Keep going. Caitlin sitting in there looking at me like, don't care. We'll stay all day. kids like they're ⁓ as getting ready to offer something on top of the temple. Yeah. your mother or ⁓ your So if notice reading verse one, all of a sudden we have backed up almost 20 years, think 18 years, you know, we've got five 37 is the ending of, know, Darius there. releasing Daniel from the den of lines. And now we're back in 555 because we went from the Medes and Persians entering in back under the reign of Belshazzar as the king of Babylon. if you know, that's why the first six chapters, very chronological, very historical, that's it's heavy in those manners. And then there's prophecy kind of not kinda prophecy really heavily sprinkled through it. Now we're transitioning to the last part. Think about the tribulation. First part's kind of going to be more history and linked up, but it's fulfilling prophecy. But then the last part, the treaty's vacated he sets himself up in the temple in the last three years. Is that why you think Daniel's laid out the way it's laid We're not going to talk about that. That just came to me right there. As I was saying that, went, boy, it's heavily prophecy and talk about, I don't know. It's like. History with prophecy sprinkled in and then you transition to Prophecy it's full on based upon a little bit of history That just came to me I Don't even remember what I was saying in the last half being, you know heavily prophecy given Yeah, we kind of bounce from from Belshazzar to Darius to then, you know in my mind, some of the most challenging passages to see like, you know, Daniel chapter 10 and Daniel chapter 12. You know, there's been a lot of discourse over those two and a lot of argumentation between theologians of what's actually going on here. Depending on who you read, you'll get a completely different interpretation of it. Completely different. But scripture is not open to private interpretation. So we see here in verse one, in the first year of Belshazzar, the king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed. Then he wrote the dream and told the sum of the matters. So you can see right here, it's revealed in the hymn. We know his... affirmation as a prophet because that's what Jesus describes Daniel as in the Olivet Discourse in Matthew 24. He Daniel the prophet. He when he got it, he didn't know. No, because you're to see these things that he sees and you go, what in the world? Yeah, exactly. I just love that something breaker pointed out and it's so juvenile, but I love it. visions of his head upon his bed. I like that. Rob's I was saying, I was thinking the same thing, but, yeah, I mean, and it's very obvious starting here now we know for sure, you know, cause one thing I like to do, one thing that like, while I'm is who's writing this. Who's writing this? we have had mainly Daniel writing in the book of Daniel, obviously, but you know, we had back, three chapters, three chapters ago we had Nebuchadnezzar writing it, but now it's definitely Daniel from here on. Yes. and we're told that in the first verse. So the second begins with Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night and behold, the four winds of the heavens strove upon the great sea. The great sea. What is the great sea? That is the masses of the people. Okay. And how do you know that? Did you read a commentary? No, scripture will interpret scripture. Yes. Matthew 13 47. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net that was cast into the sea. and gathered of every kind, preached to every tribe, nation, tongue. The people are the sea. Revelation chapter 13 verse Y'all can't hear it that these Bible pages are rippling and I love the sound of it. Go ahead and read it. I stood upon the sand of the sea and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns and upon his horns, ten crowns and upon his heads, the name of blasphemy. it's C is mentioned twice in there. So where does the beast, the antichrist? one who is described in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2, where does he come up out of? He comes up out of the people. He comes up out of the masses. That's relation piece. And the four winds of heaven strove upon the great sea is showing ⁓ preeminence, God's and God's control over every piece of it. And you know that coming from ⁓ all sides, you know, of the earth. And that also does not validate flat earth theory. heard one time, I may have mentioned this before. ⁓ tried to use that verse. One of my buddies has said, well, if there's the four corners of the earth and there's the four winds, you ever seen four corners on a ball? ⁓ my Lord. he probably tries to use Peter's vision also with the four corners in the book of Acts comes down and cut what it is is it's it's the earth in its entirety the minion and it's Dominion over it and went upon the great sea and verse 3 says and four great beasts came up from the sea diverse from another and then through verse seven we're going to get the description of these beasts and what I think is very interesting here is get two and and they are diverse one another and there is some type of animal depicted as them yep but then you get to the fourth and Daniel has a hard time describing it. There's nothing attributed to it because you know why, right? ⁓ because it's, he describes it, you the first three, you know, and we'll get into this first one is, you know, it was a lion with eagle's wings. The second was like, ⁓ like a bear, another one like a leopard. And then you get to the fourth one and it behold the fourth beast. dreadful and terrible and exceedingly strong and it had great iron teeth and it devoured and break in pieces and stamped the residue with the feet of it and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it and it had 10 horns. So is than ⁓ you've seen. mean it even says it too and it's different. And it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it. he can, you know, not only is it different from the three earlier beasts, but it's different from. Yeah, he can't describe it. So when Jesus is teaching, he only gives it attributes of, guess, the feeling that he gives and what he motioned and what he saw from it just to know, I've never seen anything like this. Yeah. these others, there's something I can relate it to. I've never seen anything like this. Jesus says in the Olivet Discourse, speaking of the time of tribulation, again, do not go to Matthew 24. This is a pitfall for people to say, no, look, there's rapture out there. There's two in a field, one gets taken. There's two women and men. No, this is not for us. This is for the Jews. Listen what he says in Matthew 24, 21. For then there shall be great tribulation. such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time. No, nor ever shall be. So he's describing or saying something that we have no idea how to describe or that we've never seen. It's like nothing that has ever been ever been before. Well, what's he talking about? Well, look at the context. Go back up to verse 15 in Matthew 24. When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet. he's relating it back to Daniel. And it makes sense why Daniel and Jesus are describing this time of the tribulation as something that it's indescribable. That's why John depicts it in the way he did where nobody could ever put it into words of what's coming. Think about this, Will. Rivers turn the blood, fire falling down with hail, dying, frogs, fleas, all of these things just succumbing Egypt. Cats dogs. A global flood that ⁓ wiped everything And talks about it in the book of Luke as it was in the days of Noah. So it shall be in the days of the son of man. None of that compares to what this is going to be like. There's nothing to just, there's nothing that you can describe it with. The only thing descriptive wise is great teeth. And then the 10 horns. let's break these down one by one beginning in verse four. says the first piece was like a lion and had eagle's wings. So right there, lion is dominion. Okay. The lion is the king of the jungle. So it has great dominion and then eagle's wings. Okay. But what about these eagle's wings? I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked. So what is the eagle a depiction of in Scripture. Divinity? divinity. Who considered himself as a god? Nebuchadnezzar. Nebuchadnezzar. Okay. He had this great empire. Babylonian empire was magnificent. Their gardens, all these things, the power, the prestige, the conquering ability of everything they had, you know, that's the line. his were plugged. And it appeared to have eagle's wings, but there's nothing divine about him. Not only that, what happens the end verse four, and it was lifted up from the earth. and made to stand upon the feet as a man a man's heart was given it. And a man's heart was given to it. mean, it will surely die. It's going to die. It's going to fall away and back to what happened in Nebuchadnezzar and Daniel chapter four. He's got everything. Yeah. And then it's all taken from him. And it's it's the adverse. it has like animal features and these, you know, depictions that way. ⁓ But then when the time chastisement and the time of tribulation comes, it's given human qualities. Well, it's the same thing, but just the adverse for Nebuchadnezzar had the human qualities. But when the time of chastisement and tribulation came, he given animal animal qualities. Just it's amazing you actually just read the word of God. When you let interpret scripture and and yeah exactly yeah nebuchadnezzar thought he was a lion thought he was divine well the wings were plucked and he was just a man and then the babilonian empire ceases and falls All right, so let's move to the next one. You want to read verse five? And behold another beast, a second like to a bear and it raised up itself. on one side and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it and they said And behold another beast, a second like to a bear and it raised up itself on one side and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it. they said thus unto it arise devour much flesh. What in the world is that? So first one is now gone. Now you to the second one like to a bear case. You've got a bear. You've got still something that has devouring power, but is not dominion as line be. You know, the line is the king of the general. think of the most powerful, most strong animal. think of a you think of the main, you think of the, the regal piece of it. You know, you think, I mean, we grew up in the nineties. The Lion King. there was no the bear king. Nope. But it's still ferocious and it can still devour. Then it had one side higher than the other. was raised up itself on once. And I've seen some people be like, that just means he was standing up. He's on his hind legs. That shows that there's no, it's a twofold dominion and even and one's uneven. Well, that's the Medes and the Persians. was stronger than the other. What you can see is. the chiastic makeup, the chiasm that is presented here between Daniel chapter two and Daniel chapter seven, because you get the statue, right? You get the head of gold. Then you get the chest of silver, it's still a precious metal, but not as precious as gold. The bear is still ferocious, but it's not as dominant as the line line. And then that because of it being in the chest, it has two arms. Okay. Well, the one side lifted up on the other shows the preeminence of the Persians over the Medes. there's, there's a dual nature to this beast. And it three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it. So what does that mean? There was a three-fold dominion because had taken the and the Persians had taken over and it's about the three-fold dominion of this second empire. It's Media, Persia, and It has the three ribs that are within it. It was between the teeth. So here's the thing. If it was still had flesh, these are three ribs. It's already devoured it. Yeah. It's, it's in control. Like it's in the mouth of the Bayer. already controlled over that. how something not as strong take something else? Cause it got plucked. Nebuchadnezzar changed and then Belshazzar was a weaker ruler. That's why they were able to, as you talked about there in chapter five, diverting the Euphrates and coming in after the writing on the wall. Killed him one night. So moving down the statue as we're seeing these beasts. It's great contemporary passage. And then verse six. good? Verse six. this, I beheld and lo another like leopard, which had upon the back of it, four wings of a fowl. The beast also had four heads and dominion was given to it. So it's got wings. So it's got divinity. Does it though? What type of wings did the lion have? Wings of an eagle. This is just wings of a fowl, so it would look like it would have divinity. So now we're moving in to Greece. Four wings of a fowl. So four wings. It's like a leopard. What is a leopard known for? Speed. Speed. Great, quickness. you know, not, not that of a cheetah, but a leopard is known for its speed and it's, still ferocious. Right? So with the dominance and speed. Yes. So what empire ⁓ dominated just speed. believe that was led by Alexander the Great. Alexander within seven years. Hmm. At 33 years old. Yeah. Like he died at 33 and a half. And then what happened after Alexander the great died? It's split into the four kind of government. Yes. Four, four different regions. That's where you get there. The one who is a, a prototype of the anti-Christ coming in. And I think roughly the year one 67, one 65 BC that was in that Providence after the dish. dividing of the kingdom, four heads, four wings, four divisions. in the providence of the kingdom of where Jerusalem was, you get the person known as Antiochus epiphany that shows up. He enters into the temple and sets himself up like a God and ceases. Well, that's what Daniel's talking about. No, that's described in Daniel chapter nine is the abomination of desolation. And Jesus is speaking about that in 33 AD that's saying that when you see these things happen, that is the fulfillment of it. So you can't retroactively go back in time and say, Jesus is speaking prophetically about something that's coming in the future that happened 190 years before that. That's, that's where these dogs. the Antichrist, that was Antiochus Epiphanes, that was already fulfilled. Then why was Jesus retroactively speaking about it as something that's happening in the future? He wouldn't need to speak about He wouldn't need to. So that again, that's your Bible divided. That's dividing the Word of Truth. And know, and at end of verse 6, and dominion was given to us, so that would, the dominion of the four regions. Yeah, it was, it was handed over after the death of Alexander the great. was handed. There was no, cause it says it was given. There was no war that needed to happen. No civil war, no, nothing, no uprisings. Just, okay. Our great leader has fallen. Now what do we do with this? We ain't got anybody to replace which is amazing because I mentioned it there Sunday night, you know, The great leader falls and what do the people do? Well, they, they, they separate and they, divided out. what did Isaiah do when the great leader Uzziah had died? He humbled himself to God and, and preach to, to unite and to repent and to come together as the nation. they're going into Babylonian exile and those types of things. cause he sees the Lord. says, Whoa. Yeah. These guys, we don't want to have some in-fighting, so let's just split it up. Let's just give them all a little piece of the pie. Yep. Keep them happy. Yep. then in that region, like I said, there where Jerusalem was is where Antiochus Epiphanes goes. I know I'm repeating myself, but I want to reiterate this point. to be repeated. If looking at that chronologically in a timeline, if 167 BC is when Antiochus Epiphanes does those things and you're trying to say that's the fulfillment of what Daniel is talking about in chapter 9, there's a two-fold problem. The one I've already mentioned, the second one's the most important. The first is... Why would Jesus retroactively be speaking about something that happened almost 200 years before that as something that's coming as a future fulfillment? Number two, Jesus was born and this is talking in 33 AD. Well, the part of the fulfillment with the 70 weeks of Daniel and Daniel chapter nine, verses 24 through 27 is the Messiah Prince had to come. he didn't come there. when Antiochus Epiphanes was, so it all just, you know, that type of thought and that type of trying to dismiss what the Bible teaches. just, just say you make Jesus a liar in that instance. You do. I could get real carnival right there. going to but I'm gonna do it I'm not gonna I'm not gonna do it carnally I'm gonna do it the right way. That's where my mind goes to it's like But I want to elaborate on that point. Mm hmm. OK. And this is. It's not to be argumentative, no, and it's not to be demeaning. But if you have a problem with that. Why don't you have a problem with the ESV Bible? Because in John chapter seven, verse eight. I'm not going to the face of the feast. Yeah, he says I'm not going. Then in verse 14 he goes. So again, he's lying. Yes. It's not that what my Bible says is I'm not going yet up the feast. So if, if you're like, amen to you know, we don't want to make Jesus a liar and that doctrine that's wacky, you know, to say, well, he's trying to do this. And he lied about when this was going to happen and all these things. the words you're reading and there's places in there that show divinity of Christ. Satan's not gonna deny the divinity of but he will disguise as an angel of light and he's more subtle and he's gonna try to deceive. Those are the, listen. Quick, tangent. you're, if you're going to say, well, we know what that means. Okay. I'm glad you did good. Where did you get your foundation from? Yeah. And if time tarries, what happens to the next generation? What to the next one? Because this could happen. You would guys, do we not think people twist the word of God to try to promote carnality all the time? Well, Jesus lied to him right there for self-preservation. Why can't I? If I've ever heard a straw man argument, that's one. And And then have people who... along those same lines and, and another conversation, you know, two weeks, three weeks down the road or two weeks, three weeks before have said, have you ever lied? Even a little white lie. It's still a lie. That's bearing false witness. You're breaking the 10 commandments. But I want you to be a follower of Jesus. Well, if I read that and I'm not discipled in the right way, and I'm not taught the right way, if I'm reading John chapter seven out of an ESV, I go, Jesus lied right there. But if it's for the right purpose, then I can do it. Yeah. Well, what about rehab? You see what I mean? It's a snowball into the whatabouts. tangent over. you we may get to verse seven. Yeah, there we go. then seven, verse seven, then have seven. After, after this, I saw in the night visions and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible and strong exceedingly and it had great iron teeth. It devoured and break in pieces and stamped the residue with the feet of it it was diverse from all beasts that were before it and it had 10 horns. 10 horns. All right. So let's go down this rabbit hole for a minute. It's not a rabbit hole. It's all right. So the beast in Daniel seven, seven. that's fun. Yeah. Seven. Hey, that's funny. Hold a minute. Don't cut that. That's real time. That's real time. I had to ride it out before. know. Well, as soon as you said it, I was like, Well, how come I know it's in Daniel chapter seven? verse? Seven, seven. Wait a minute. Seven. We see this beast rising up. It's indescribable and we see that it has 10 horns. And we continue down in the other verses, we see that it has the one little horn, which which blasphemy. OK. So what is this fourth beast? This is where beginning of this podcast is going to relate to the end of this podcast. Where else are we told about something like unto a beast that is given 10 horns and, rules in that manner. Now what we saw in Daniel seven, what type of teeth does it have? Okay. Has teeth. And if we're continuing to work down and we saw ⁓ the bronze there of the legs, okay, of the statue, because remember we're relating this, Daniel chapter seven to Daniel chapter two. Now we get, or excuse me, the midsection and the thighs of bronze. Now we get the legs of iron, but you notice something? Daniel chapter two gives you the Roman Empire. then it gives you the iron mixed with clay. the feet. Daniel chapter seven kind molds it together and says, okay, we're, we're, we're sticking with the Rome theme here. Okay. We're sticking with the theme of Rome. Yeah. Rome being the dominant, the iron being the dominant part of it. And then with the 10 horns that come up and then ⁓ The one little horn speak and blast me. Who is the one little horn speaking blast me? Well, that's, that's the antichrist. Okay. That is that man of prediction, the man of sin, the son of prediction. Why has he given two names? Because it's, it's, it's a mockery in a retelling that Satan does. Cause he, doesn't come up with anything on his own. He just tries to emulate everything that Jesus is and everything that God has done. will have sin. I will be what? Like the most high. So he never says greater. No, cause he can't can't. So the rider on the first horse that comes in is wearing white and he's got a bow, but it has no arrow and the crown's not given unto him yet. And said it, people read revelation chapter six and see that first seal get open. There he is. The rider that on the white horse is in revelation chapter 19. That's the counterfeit. Exactly. Okay. So if we look at Daniel chapter 7 we're relating, this is to try to figure out... Did you hear that? No, good. Daniel. So figure out. keep it. That's what I'm doing. Daniel, chapter seven to try to figure out, OK, what what is this beast? Well, don't run to a commentary. Mm Don't run to a YouTube video. Let's let scripture interpret scripture, which I am. guilty of the first time I ever dove into this really like diving diving into it. said, ⁓ let's see what so and so has to say. No, take a step back. And there came of the seven angels, which had the seven vows and talked with me, saying unto me, come hither, I will show thee the judgment of the great whore that senteth upon. many ⁓ So now Daniel chapter 7 and Revelation chapter 17 have a connection. What's the first connection? The sea. The sea. Waters. Waters. Many waters. with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast. full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads ten horns. Okay, there's the next piece. We've seen waters, we've seen horns. The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand, full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication. Wow. upon her head was a name written, Mystery Babylon, the great, the mother of harlots and abominations of the earth. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. So that gets taken out of context. It's like John's admiring her. admiring the horror of Babylon. That's not... it's just he's almost in shock and in of what he's seeing. Kind of sounds a little bit similar. Daniel saying about dreadful and and strong exceedingly. Exactly. And the angel said unto me in verse seven, wherefore didst thou marvel? See, marvel, admiration, you know, he's admiring, he's at... mouth's ⁓ wide open because he's seeing the same thing that Daniel saw. will thee the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carryeth her, which hath seven heads and ten horns. Well, Daniel gets same type of treatment in Daniel chapter seven where it's going to be inferred for him. The beast that thou sawest was and is not. and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit and go into How deep you wanna go? I mean we could go for another Well. we could do a two parter. Remember that's why it says Judas. And like that, that spirit that comes up, so you're going to teaching me all this too. Think about it was ⁓ not, and be. So... It's too deep. So is Judas the beast? at the end of the verse. they dwell on the earth shall wonder whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world when they behold the beast that was and is not and yet is. So here's the question. We'll cut this out. We'll have to remember where we were. Roman Empire was and is not, but will be. But there's a king that comes up when the locusts are released of the bottomless pit. And then the four angels are from underneath the river Euphrates. And there's a king that rides upon them. Is that Judas? Is that the same king? That's what I'm, I believe Judas. Because he went back to his home. He was a devil from the start So we've got waters. We've got ten horns and it's a mystery and it's Babylon. And he's beginning to tell us the angel is inferring to John. And then look in verse 9. And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads seven mountains on which the woman sitteth. What was Rome known as? The city seven hills. So it's relating it to Rome, but notice it's relating it back to Babylon. How can we come... Now, here's the question. Because Babylon is the cradle of evil. Where do we first see Babylon? It's not there in Daniel chapter 1. It's all the way back in Genesis chapter 11. The tower of Babel. another figure of the Antichrist, a great hunter. ⁓ before the Lord, not that he was doing it for his approval in front of him. It's that that that means he was against. when they settled in Shinar instead doing what God had commanded of being fruitful, multiply, and they say, lest we be scattered, there's this consolidation of power that was there. And we've talked about the Tower of Babel. It's not the leaning tower of Pisa. It's not the Empire State Building. It's a yeah, it's a temple. Yeah. It's to to heaven is not, literal they're trying to build it to make it up to the third heaven. It's a place of worship. Now, I we probably for time sake and for depth sake need to go ahead and start to close this and we're going to leave it on kind of a cliffhanger. You got to come back. And what we'll is we'll go. deeper into showing, I want to give what I believe Mystery Babylon is. We've danced around it. How can we relate Daniel chapter 7, Revelation chapter 17, Genesis chapter 11, Babylon, Rome, and what that means for the end times and who this horror of Babylon is what this beast is that she rides upon what all the characteristics are that are given of what she's adorned in I want to leave you with this. She ⁓ mother she has mother of what harlots who have committed fornication physical. not only that, we will look at the book of Jonah next week too to talk Nineveh and how all of this a it all together. Yeah. for the sake of time, so, the golly maverick, maverick for sake for the sake of depth in which we need to go into it. we kind of finished where we started but we'll get a little deeper there why it's so important guys try the spirits and think one of the biggest things and One person that can be held for a whole lot of this is the assumption that Roman Catholics or fellow Christians goes to Billy Graham. Yeah. and, the ecumenicism that goes there, that is a, like, do you remember at our previous church, we would pray for lost people group every Sunday. Yeah. We would talk about this tribe and their population and this tribe and their population. Never mentioned that's a mission field. It's a mission. It's a, it's a billion people that's in a mission field. And, but it would be, it would be seen as blasphemous if you mentioned that. Seeing that it all bulls like. Do got to ask yourself a question? Do you want to be right? Or do you want to see people get right? There's your intentions come from. Yeah. Do you just want to be right? And well, would dare. Listen, if you try the spirits and ⁓ if ⁓ I speak that I can against certain things that somebody's done, you are in a cold. So the Southern Baptist convention could be a cult if all of a sudden somebody went, I said, Billy Graham was wrong with the ecumenism towards a group that is not Bible believers. Yeah. I mean, when he's got, he does his altar calls and there's monks Hindus and And I go a step further than that. was, it was more so not just in the, the revivals and crusades that were going on in the seventies and from the fifties to whenever they finished, but later life, even in interviews and the ecumenical push ⁓ and seeing, it's, no different than what Vatican two in the sixties labeled as the separated brethren. no different. Guys, that is a mission field. That a lot of deceived people. Not because I say so, because of the Bible teaches and what they teach goes against the Bible and we can't just for the sake of wanting to keep the peace go, well, that's okay. That's just little doctrinal differences. ⁓ No. Ask a Catholic if they have eternal security that if they were to die right now that they would fulfill what 2 Corinthians chapter 5 verse 8 says, to be absent of the body, be present with the Lord, and if they would have to go to purgatory to purge off venial sins in which they've committed. There is now there for no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus. The absolving of sins is not by man, it's by the one true God who came to this earth and dwelt. Amen. Remission of sins is not paying your church to get somebody out of a ground. The of sins is by blood and the only blood that could be shed to have the true remission of the sins is by the blood of the lamb. Amen. So I'm passionate about that. And because the wool. It's been pulled and we just, we are under the assumption that well, we not as as a Jehovah's Witness where they have the New World. They got their own Bible. Yeah. From the Dewey Rheims, from the Latin Vulgate, through all these things. ⁓ Their has apocryphal books. If you believe in the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God, whether you claim that that's the NIV, the ESV, the CSB, the NASB, the LMNOP, whatever you want to claim it is, it's not the same because yours has 66 and theirs has 73. you can't point towards that group. Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, and say, well, they have their own scripture. Guys, they do, too. Yeah, they do, too. Absolutely. And the doctrines of purgatory, we just disproved it at the start. I guess we are closing where we started of 1 Corinthians 3, but it comes out of the book of 2 Maccabees. I think it's the 14th chapter. If I'm right, 2 Maccabees is where that discourse starts about, you know, the prayers for the dead and the of sins that are there. It's important, man. It's very important. We don't have the same Bible. We don't have the same doctrine. And based off of the authority of God's word, we don't follow the same Jesus. ⁓ absolutely. I can. ⁓ stand firm and say that Jehovah's Witnesses don't have the same Jesus that I do. The Muslims don't have the same Jesus that I do. But we must also stand firm and say the Catholics don't have the same Jesus as we do. Do you know the only way that like one of the only ways that you can not go to purgatory and go straight into heaven? How? Being a martyr for the Lord Jesus Christ. Does that not sound like Islam? fulfill Sharia law ⁓ to kill virgin. Exactly. mean, it's when you seeing it blend and you start seeing the crossovers, it's not something that Irish preacher concocted in the 1830s to see about everything's going to start winding up. Yeah, absolutely, I got a hush. next week, yeah, we'll definitely when we have to. Next week. Yeah, we'll get after it. Okay, so yeah, next episode. Yeah, we'll we'll get it recorded in the next day or two and get it out back to back. is fresh. Let's do it. Yeah, I just going by the ramp. Sorry. I'm ready. I'm ready. If we had more time, we'd just stop this one and start recording another one. I gotta you some things to look at. Yeah. ⁓ once you... It's like I told you at the beginning. Once you go down. Once you go down through this door, there's no going back. Well, will a prayer and we'll end this episode only to have another one in the next day or two. So, dear Heavenly Father, so thankful for just your word and ⁓ how we lean it. and how we can go to it for every answer, for every question, for everything that we have in our entire life because it is from you and it is inspired by you and ⁓ that is in it is true infallible and can believe it because it comes from you and I'm so thankful for that. Dear Lord, please be with listeners. I know today was a very and complex episode, but I pray that you will open people's eyes ⁓ and them to just know that can go to your Word and that they have to go to your Word for clarification ⁓ and to let interpret Scripture, because that's why you've given it to us. It's a living, breathing thing, and I'm so thankful. ⁓ for the opportunity to just come on here with my brother Zach. I'm so thankful for him and for his passion and for his heart for you his heart for lost people. And I'm so thankful for you giving me a burden for lost people and just everything that you've done for me and how I know I can always lean on you. And it's not just a lean, it's laying of everything out before you and giving everything because Truly, at the end of the day, all we have is you. And I'm so thankful for that. So Lord, be with us, keep us safe, and we will come back and all of this is for your glory. In your name I pray. Amen. Amen. Well, yeah, we'll see you in the next couple of days, I guess. And we should get this out before Friday. Oh, yeah. If you hear this, in prayer for me and Will because we're going to go do some street preaching at end of this week. possibly some next week and try to get the Word of God out. So be in prayer for that. Yep, absolutely. Yeah, we'll see you next episode. We love you guys. God bless.
