00:00:33.439 --> 00:00:37.920
Special thanks to Vintage Boxing for providing this video on YouTube.
9
00:00:37.960 --> 00:00:40.280
As I watch it and you hear it. In the
10
00:00:40.320 --> 00:00:43.520
month of August twenty twenty six, we only have September, October,
11
00:00:43.560 --> 00:00:46.640
November and December to go for Jade Dogs Boxing Bout
12
00:00:46.640 --> 00:00:48.600
of the Month. There will be no poll in December,
13
00:00:48.960 --> 00:00:52.600
but there will be one in September, October and November,
14
00:00:52.600 --> 00:00:56.399
and then that's it. That's the list for X bet
15
00:00:56.399 --> 00:01:00.840
this pon X for Jade Dogs Boxing of the Month poll.
16
00:01:00.960 --> 00:01:04.760
Ditto for wrestling. We'll have a poll in September October,
17
00:01:04.920 --> 00:01:07.519
not in November, but one in December, and then that
18
00:01:07.560 --> 00:01:09.879
will be come twenty twenty seven to the whole year
19
00:01:10.640 --> 00:01:13.680
of doing Jade Dog's Boxing Bout in Jade doggs Wrestling
20
00:01:13.760 --> 00:01:17.519
Match of the Month for the poll that will conclude
21
00:01:17.599 --> 00:01:22.680
in twenty twenty seven. Once January arrives, no more polls.
22
00:01:23.480 --> 00:01:27.000
And before it was the Golden Boy for Oscar de
23
00:01:27.120 --> 00:01:29.640
la Hoya. Four years later in nineteen ninety two in
24
00:01:29.680 --> 00:01:33.519
the Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain, and a star
25
00:01:33.680 --> 00:01:40.120
was essentially born. It was Donnie Lalande out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada,
26
00:01:40.359 --> 00:01:44.120
being the Golden Boy taking on Sugar Ray Leonard. The
27
00:01:44.159 --> 00:01:46.640
tail of the tape right now as follows from nineteen
28
00:01:46.719 --> 00:01:50.000
eighty eight six foot one, six and one three quarters
29
00:01:50.040 --> 00:01:53.480
three quarters for Lalande, five ten and a half for
30
00:01:53.519 --> 00:01:55.959
Sugar Ray Leonard, who, by the way, this was his
31
00:01:56.120 --> 00:01:59.000
third time coming out of retirement. He was becoming the
32
00:01:59.000 --> 00:02:03.040
Elvis of box. My mother always says that Elvis had
33
00:02:03.319 --> 00:02:07.120
more comebacks than a career. Hard to argue with your mother.
34
00:02:07.519 --> 00:02:11.039
Your mother should know. Wait one sixty seven for the
35
00:02:11.080 --> 00:02:15.479
Golden Boy for Sugar Ray won, sixty five, thirty two
36
00:02:15.560 --> 00:02:19.240
years of age for Leonard, twenty eight for Lalande and
37
00:02:19.280 --> 00:02:23.479
the reach pretty close. Seventy seven for Lalande, seventy four
38
00:02:23.560 --> 00:02:27.919
for Sugar Ray Leonard, and the announcers for this because
39
00:02:27.919 --> 00:02:30.960
this was on pay per view. It was Sam Rosen,
40
00:02:31.000 --> 00:02:35.080
who just retired from broadcasting, and Randy Gordon with Roy
41
00:02:35.159 --> 00:02:42.240
Firestone doing the interviews outside the ring, and they're about
42
00:02:42.280 --> 00:02:46.319
ready to get it on the Golden Boy and Sugar
43
00:02:46.439 --> 00:02:53.400
Ray Leonard Caesar's Palace as Chuck Hull as the ring announcer,
44
00:03:00.199 --> 00:03:01.240
Bomb of Detroit.
45
00:03:01.000 --> 00:03:07.639
Michigan and Brands Marty Switzerland.
46
00:03:07.639 --> 00:03:08.479
You get the knockdowns.
47
00:03:09.560 --> 00:03:15.280
The attending ringside doctors Donald Romeo and James Game and
48
00:03:15.680 --> 00:03:18.360
referee is Richard Steel.
49
00:03:19.360 --> 00:03:27.400
Rich Steele is the referee tuns twelve Rounds, Super middle.
50
00:03:27.199 --> 00:03:32.039
Way and Anyway Championships of the World.
51
00:03:32.240 --> 00:03:34.319
A new title was going to be formed after this
52
00:03:34.439 --> 00:03:35.439
fight though.
53
00:03:38.560 --> 00:03:45.960
Sixty wings on the.
54
00:03:43.599 --> 00:03:49.479
Potomac Beryland's own Sugar Ray Leonard wearing black trunks this
55
00:03:49.560 --> 00:03:52.759
time thirty four wins, one loss, twenty four knockouts by
56
00:03:52.759 --> 00:03:58.400
the way, black trunks, which says sugar and gold. And
57
00:03:58.560 --> 00:04:00.759
he's got a couple of sponsors. I think Franklin being
58
00:04:00.800 --> 00:04:03.680
one of them, you know, like Franklin batting gloves, but
59
00:04:03.719 --> 00:04:06.719
they have in baseball Franklin Sporting Goods essentially, which is
60
00:04:06.719 --> 00:04:14.120
actually located in Massachusetts winn at Peg Manitoba, Canada's own
61
00:04:14.240 --> 00:04:19.000
The Golden Boy, Donnie Lalande twenty eight years young, thirty
62
00:04:19.040 --> 00:04:28.480
one wins two losses, twenty six knockouts. By the way,
63
00:04:29.360 --> 00:04:32.279
he's wearing black trunks that say Laland and gold as well,
64
00:04:32.600 --> 00:04:34.639
and he also has a patch on there that says
65
00:04:34.680 --> 00:04:37.879
no excuse for child abuse or is it domestic abuse?
66
00:04:37.959 --> 00:04:44.759
Let me look at it again. I think Caesar's Palace
67
00:04:44.839 --> 00:04:48.879
is another sponsor on Sugar Ray Leonard's trunks. Let me see, okay,
68
00:04:48.920 --> 00:04:56.759
I'm looking at the Golden Boy he's wearing. By the way,
69
00:04:57.000 --> 00:05:04.360
the Golden Boy he's wearing, he's wearing black uh shoes
70
00:05:04.560 --> 00:05:10.800
with gold trim and gold socks, not gold shrim gold laces.
71
00:05:11.279 --> 00:05:18.240
Round one begins and Sugar Ray Leonard wearing black boots
72
00:05:18.279 --> 00:05:29.759
with black and white tassels and white socks. This is
73
00:05:29.800 --> 00:05:32.879
Donnie Lalan's time to shine here taking on a living
74
00:05:32.959 --> 00:05:38.800
legend in Sugar Ray Leonard. I think it's no excuse
75
00:05:38.839 --> 00:06:02.839
for child abuse, has a broken heart, quick hands, coarse
76
00:06:02.959 --> 00:06:06.079
extra gold light is the sponsor. In the middle of
77
00:06:06.120 --> 00:06:09.920
the ring. You've got red, white, blue, white ropes, so
78
00:06:10.079 --> 00:06:18.000
four ropes theres.
79
00:06:19.519 --> 00:06:20.720
It didn't bother me at all.
80
00:06:21.000 --> 00:06:22.600
He was a good scoring shot.
81
00:06:23.439 --> 00:06:26.360
But it sends a message that Leonard could get in
82
00:06:26.639 --> 00:06:27.480
and he could land.
83
00:06:29.439 --> 00:06:31.879
But that's exactly how I believe Leonard will fight them
84
00:06:33.639 --> 00:06:47.600
in it quick Black Ray, how to think about that?
85
00:06:47.759 --> 00:06:49.959
It's that a white hand kim wing past his chin.
86
00:07:00.839 --> 00:07:05.040
Boxing poll on Tuesday, September first bet this pee on
87
00:07:05.319 --> 00:07:11.120
X Wrestling. Poll on September third on X Bet this pe.
88
00:07:11.480 --> 00:07:14.759
So we'll have four matches four or four bouts for
89
00:07:15.040 --> 00:07:17.480
of course, as we do four boxing and four wrestling
90
00:07:17.480 --> 00:07:23.720
matches for wrestling. The time the career looks like silver
91
00:07:23.839 --> 00:07:26.079
trim on l Land on the side.
92
00:07:27.120 --> 00:07:27.480
Towards that.
93
00:07:30.279 --> 00:07:42.519
You never like, you never liked, hard standing person, standing
94
00:07:42.600 --> 00:07:46.759
up for training and.
95
00:07:55.800 --> 00:07:59.720
H it's picking up now.
96
00:08:00.120 --> 00:08:02.720
Say that Leonard does not want to get close.
97
00:08:04.319 --> 00:08:07.199
And first round comes to a close.
98
00:08:08.959 --> 00:08:10.680
On a line trying to get.
99
00:08:10.519 --> 00:08:14.399
The nerves out of the system, Sugar Ray Leonard.
100
00:08:16.000 --> 00:08:16.759
Under control.
101
00:08:17.000 --> 00:08:20.639
Jax Morton liked that Roy Firestone is rolling around inside
102
00:08:20.800 --> 00:08:22.639
Roy Sam, thank you.
103
00:08:22.639 --> 00:08:26.120
Very much for Roy Firestone talking to Jesse the body
104
00:08:26.240 --> 00:08:29.600
Ventura kind Well, I don't know, I really didn't see Donnie.
105
00:08:29.639 --> 00:08:31.319
I came in after Donnie had been there.
106
00:08:31.319 --> 00:08:32.320
It's called Thunderground.
107
00:08:32.360 --> 00:08:34.720
Should be out in February, but I'm pupped up for this.
108
00:08:34.720 --> 00:08:37.000
Fight tonight be just feeling each other out. Now it's
109
00:08:37.000 --> 00:08:37.799
going to be a lot more.
110
00:08:37.960 --> 00:08:41.960
But remember everybody, November twenty fourth, the Survivor Series in.
111
00:08:41.960 --> 00:08:43.279
The World Wrestling Federation.
112
00:08:43.679 --> 00:08:45.960
Then I'll be behind the Mike Roy ride belong.
113
00:08:46.080 --> 00:08:47.679
Now we can only break out of a shell.
114
00:08:47.759 --> 00:08:50.440
Thank you, Jesse, thank you. Right back to Ringsidy.
115
00:08:50.519 --> 00:08:53.360
This is the only man who was let into ringside
116
00:08:53.360 --> 00:08:56.480
through security because everybody wanted his autograph.
117
00:08:56.639 --> 00:08:58.279
Jesse okay, and he didn't.
118
00:08:58.000 --> 00:09:03.360
Have the press pass, and nobody wanted to stop him.
119
00:09:05.759 --> 00:09:06.759
Round two begins.
120
00:09:06.840 --> 00:09:10.759
So Jesse the body Ventura was promoting nineteen eighty eight
121
00:09:10.919 --> 00:09:14.120
WWF Survivor Series, or the was f at the time,
122
00:09:14.159 --> 00:09:19.679
of course, and he was behind the mic little pay
123
00:09:19.679 --> 00:09:21.759
per view promotion there.
124
00:09:21.799 --> 00:09:22.360
I guess.
125
00:09:23.879 --> 00:09:24.639
How true it is.
126
00:09:35.919 --> 00:09:38.639
I think Sugar Ray Leonard won the first round just barely,
127
00:09:38.799 --> 00:09:42.360
just barely. Like any round, you gotta get a feel
128
00:09:42.399 --> 00:09:42.679
for it.
129
00:09:44.000 --> 00:09:47.559
Both men looking for the right at a good point.
130
00:09:48.399 --> 00:09:50.360
It's that money punch you look for. You don't want
131
00:09:50.360 --> 00:09:51.600
to do it in the first round. I mean you know,
132
00:09:51.720 --> 00:09:55.360
unless you're Mike Tyson, of course get in and get out.
133
00:09:56.320 --> 00:10:01.279
But he always complained though he needed more rounds. Mike
134
00:10:01.559 --> 00:10:13.960
stands around the ring work for Floyd Mayweather. A lot
135
00:10:13.960 --> 00:10:16.279
of people wondering if Sugar Ray Leonard still had it
136
00:10:17.080 --> 00:10:18.919
because of the third retirement. You know, every time you
137
00:10:19.000 --> 00:10:23.159
retire and you come back, there's always that are you done?
138
00:10:23.559 --> 00:10:26.000
How much do you have left in you? You're not
139
00:10:26.039 --> 00:10:29.200
what you are ten twenty years ago? Okay, do you
140
00:10:29.200 --> 00:10:32.279
still have a little bit left in the tank? How
141
00:10:32.360 --> 00:10:33.879
much of it do you have left in the tank?
142
00:10:34.639 --> 00:10:35.720
To take a shot of the s.
143
00:10:40.039 --> 00:10:43.080
So it's coarse extra gold draft, that's what it is.
144
00:10:43.679 --> 00:10:46.000
That's the sponsor, and it's in the middle of the
145
00:10:46.080 --> 00:10:49.039
ring with Caesar's Palace on each corner.
146
00:10:49.279 --> 00:10:49.960
By the way.
147
00:10:52.000 --> 00:11:01.480
Top left, bottom right, Rich Steele has to break them
148
00:11:01.559 --> 00:11:04.080
up stronger.
149
00:11:03.799 --> 00:11:05.519
Pas Sugar Ray left.
150
00:11:08.200 --> 00:11:13.000
Right to the body made Lalan wins a little bit
151
00:11:15.679 --> 00:11:20.440
yard not showing any porries burd you combinations. To this point,
152
00:11:22.399 --> 00:11:28.120
it's been stay away from the power.
153
00:11:35.960 --> 00:11:39.159
There's thirty seconds left of the second round.
154
00:11:41.720 --> 00:11:42.960
And there was the counter.
155
00:11:47.000 --> 00:11:49.519
A couple of body punches from Sugar Ray Leonard to
156
00:11:50.279 --> 00:12:04.200
Donnie Lalande well Land with a very eighties mullet by
157
00:12:04.240 --> 00:12:10.399
the way down and another.
158
00:12:10.200 --> 00:12:15.360
Comfortable round for the challenger Sugar Ray Leonard. Coming into this,
159
00:12:15.600 --> 00:12:18.840
Fike knew very well the power of Donny Lalan, and
160
00:12:18.879 --> 00:12:20.759
he feels he knows how to diffuse it.
161
00:12:21.799 --> 00:12:23.559
The key for me is to hit, and I got
162
00:12:23.639 --> 00:12:26.759
hit to be inside but not really be there to
163
00:12:26.919 --> 00:12:30.279
frustrate him. It's it starts the way I face other
164
00:12:30.360 --> 00:12:38.919
parts Hens and Haber in particulars.
165
00:12:41.320 --> 00:12:50.200
N forty of Donnie Lalan's KOs have been in round two,
166
00:12:51.000 --> 00:12:54.879
though I wasn't able to get the ko and Sugar
167
00:12:54.960 --> 00:12:56.600
Ray Leonard in that round. He may do in the
168
00:12:56.600 --> 00:12:57.559
third round.
169
00:12:57.480 --> 00:13:01.000
Another one on the sure.
170
00:13:04.159 --> 00:13:11.440
Round three begins in Las Vegas. I'm pretty sure this
171
00:13:11.480 --> 00:13:13.039
is TKO's pay per view, but.
172
00:13:13.279 --> 00:13:16.159
So Super Midweight Championship.
173
00:13:18.559 --> 00:13:21.080
See, they were doing promotion for wrestling before they merged
174
00:13:22.279 --> 00:13:24.600
like they did earlier in this decade.
175
00:13:24.840 --> 00:13:25.600
I believe the win.
176
00:13:31.519 --> 00:13:36.120
Speaking of Potomac or Maryland, don't forget. On September first,
177
00:13:36.720 --> 00:13:39.799
on the Playback on the Pulse podcast network will have
178
00:13:39.879 --> 00:13:43.799
a double header of football. The Baltimore Ravens first ever
179
00:13:44.000 --> 00:13:48.600
NFL regular season game from nineteen ninety six when they
180
00:13:48.600 --> 00:13:52.320
hosted the then Oakland Raiders. That'll be at noon on
181
00:13:52.360 --> 00:13:55.840
September first, and then it'll be the first of eighteen
182
00:13:55.879 --> 00:13:59.519
weeks in a row of classics. Sunday Night Football. Sunday
183
00:13:59.559 --> 00:14:02.919
Night Football Classics, the first ever one that was in
184
00:14:02.960 --> 00:14:06.000
the regular season on NBC, because that's what we're doing.
185
00:14:06.000 --> 00:14:08.399
We're doing the NBC era twenty years of it, two
186
00:14:08.440 --> 00:14:13.360
thousand and six to twenty twenty five. The Manning Bowl,
187
00:14:14.000 --> 00:14:18.600
Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts taking on Eli Manning
188
00:14:19.120 --> 00:14:22.039
and the New York Football Giants.
189
00:14:23.320 --> 00:14:26.200
No more require four.
190
00:14:27.159 --> 00:14:31.799
That'll be eight PM for that that game. The reason
191
00:14:31.799 --> 00:14:36.279
why I have it on September first is because I
192
00:14:37.720 --> 00:14:40.960
want to have consistently eighteen weeks in a row of football.
193
00:14:41.000 --> 00:14:43.159
And if I started the eighteen weeks of football, I
194
00:14:43.159 --> 00:14:45.120
would have had to start it on August thirty first,
195
00:14:45.519 --> 00:14:48.120
and I don't want to do that or August thirtieth.
196
00:14:48.159 --> 00:14:51.720
Excuse me, Sunday August thirtieth. Think I mean posted at
197
00:14:52.639 --> 00:14:56.559
noon usually unless stated, unless I let you know via
198
00:14:56.639 --> 00:15:01.200
social media or an upcoming edition of the playback to
199
00:15:01.320 --> 00:15:04.320
let you know that. For the most part, the Classics
200
00:15:04.320 --> 00:15:07.879
for Sunday Night Football on Sundays will air on the
201
00:15:07.919 --> 00:15:14.320
Pulse podcast network at noon. There might be some exceptions
202
00:15:14.360 --> 00:15:19.120
that they won't air at noon, like baseball games or
203
00:15:19.200 --> 00:15:22.039
World Series games that air on that date. But well
204
00:15:23.039 --> 00:15:26.759
we'll cross that bridge when we find it.
205
00:15:29.000 --> 00:15:31.440
I think you would have showed him away. You think short.
206
00:15:35.639 --> 00:15:40.600
Thirty seconds of round three, nice body punches from the
207
00:15:40.639 --> 00:15:47.000
golden Boy Donnie la landing.
208
00:15:44.480 --> 00:15:47.159
Skills and experience a different.
209
00:15:53.600 --> 00:15:53.919
Sugar.
210
00:15:54.000 --> 00:15:56.960
Ray Leonard got a fifteen million dollar purse for this match,
211
00:15:57.000 --> 00:16:01.200
whereas the purse for la Land was five million dollars.
212
00:16:01.840 --> 00:16:04.200
And no, I don't mean a purse like you carry
213
00:16:04.200 --> 00:16:15.639
a purse like a European carryall.
214
00:16:20.519 --> 00:16:22.799
Watching the action tonight is the man who saw a
215
00:16:22.799 --> 00:16:25.559
lot of action in the ring in the movies Rockies
216
00:16:25.679 --> 00:16:27.279
with Roy Firestone.
217
00:16:27.399 --> 00:16:32.240
Roy Firestone talking to Sylvester Stallone a little.
218
00:16:32.000 --> 00:16:34.240
Bit very much though this is a difficult this is
219
00:16:34.279 --> 00:16:36.120
like a movie. It's a Hollywood fight.
220
00:16:36.200 --> 00:16:39.120
It seems like everything was going against the man, the tension, the.
221
00:16:39.120 --> 00:16:41.799
Pressure of the crowd, and he seems to be rising
222
00:16:41.840 --> 00:16:42.519
to the occasion.
223
00:16:42.799 --> 00:16:46.799
Leonard looks very tentative. He's nervous. He hasn't fight seen
224
00:16:46.840 --> 00:16:48.600
anyone like this. He underplayed this.
225
00:16:48.600 --> 00:16:49.919
This was after Rambo three.
226
00:16:50.440 --> 00:16:53.399
Lelan is like fighting above and beyond his ability right now,
227
00:16:53.399 --> 00:16:54.000
and it's.
228
00:16:53.840 --> 00:16:55.559
To make for an interesting vendue.
229
00:16:56.279 --> 00:16:59.159
Thanks back to ring side, thanks for.
230
00:16:59.120 --> 00:17:04.799
Right Round four begins.
231
00:17:05.200 --> 00:17:10.960
I don't want the extra rests.
232
00:17:11.960 --> 00:17:14.440
I remember Stallone doing a promo for Tuesday Night fights
233
00:17:14.440 --> 00:17:18.000
on USA Network because he had I was filming Rocky five,
234
00:17:18.079 --> 00:17:22.640
I believe, because Tuesday Night fights I believe started around
235
00:17:22.640 --> 00:17:26.000
that time on USA Network because you had you had
236
00:17:26.279 --> 00:17:29.680
wrestling Challenge I think on Monday or primetime wrestling on Monday,
237
00:17:30.319 --> 00:17:32.680
and then on Tuesday or Tuesday Night fights.
238
00:17:32.920 --> 00:17:41.480
So oh, now.
239
00:17:41.400 --> 00:17:44.319
Sugar Ry Leonard's getting some rights and lefts into Donnie
240
00:17:44.359 --> 00:17:53.359
Lalande on his jaw WBC light Heavyweight and WBC Super
241
00:17:53.400 --> 00:17:57.160
Middleweight Championship. Let's not forget that the super Middleweight Championship.
242
00:17:57.160 --> 00:18:01.319
Whoever wins this fight gets the inaugural SU Middleweight Championship
243
00:18:01.319 --> 00:18:09.039
from the WBC because Donnel Lalande is the defending light
244
00:18:09.079 --> 00:18:25.640
heavyweight champ. Though, and then subsequently, as I mentioned, September one,
245
00:18:25.880 --> 00:18:28.359
as you know folks, this year in twenty twenty six,
246
00:18:28.400 --> 00:18:30.720
September first is a Tuesday, so that's where we're going
247
00:18:30.759 --> 00:18:36.039
to have both the playback. So, oh, that's a knockdown,
248
00:18:36.079 --> 00:18:42.160
although Leonard's not knocked down, but Rich Steele is counting him.
249
00:18:42.319 --> 00:18:44.720
Land has won this round so far. In round four,
250
00:18:45.079 --> 00:18:49.920
there's about a minute fifteen left to go. A couple
251
00:18:49.920 --> 00:19:01.359
of body punches from Lalande. The Golden Boy has the
252
00:19:01.440 --> 00:19:04.759
reach and he's taller. He's taller and he has the reach.
253
00:19:07.079 --> 00:19:09.359
For the most part. Sugar Ray Leonard's opponents have been
254
00:19:09.400 --> 00:19:13.359
kind of in the same register weight class and height.
255
00:19:13.440 --> 00:19:19.880
That's not the case here for this match. Oh what
256
00:19:20.000 --> 00:19:32.839
a right by Donnie Lalan right on Sugar Ray Leonards cheek.
257
00:19:36.039 --> 00:19:40.799
Thirty seconds left of round four. Lalande has won this
258
00:19:40.960 --> 00:19:46.079
round with a knockout of Sugar Ray Leonard.
259
00:19:46.240 --> 00:19:52.880
Sugar, but I don't believe an.
260
00:20:00.039 --> 00:20:05.039
Here's that doesn't for the fourth round Loland won that one.
261
00:20:08.119 --> 00:20:10.200
Trainers are gonna have to tell Sugar Ray Leonard what's
262
00:20:10.240 --> 00:20:17.759
going on? Cut right above his nose, above his nose. Yeah,
263
00:20:18.680 --> 00:20:24.640
gotta cauterise that. On the second time in his career,
264
00:20:27.359 --> 00:20:29.279
he did go down and then he got up immediately.
265
00:20:29.319 --> 00:20:31.440
He waited for the mandatory count from Rich steel.
266
00:20:31.599 --> 00:20:35.519
So it looks to catch the side of the head
267
00:20:35.599 --> 00:20:39.759
and down he goes. It looks to be.
268
00:20:41.279 --> 00:20:43.839
I think off the top of the head he was
269
00:20:43.960 --> 00:20:45.680
more more balanced than anything else.
270
00:20:49.799 --> 00:20:50.359
The inside.
271
00:20:50.400 --> 00:20:52.720
Yeah, right right on there. They got to cauterize that.
272
00:20:56.519 --> 00:20:57.519
I think he was more.
273
00:21:00.480 --> 00:21:03.839
Look at the last rag off the side of the head.
274
00:21:04.920 --> 00:21:05.880
This is round five.
275
00:21:06.079 --> 00:21:08.480
Round five begins Letter tasting.
276
00:21:08.279 --> 00:21:12.079
Blood for one of the very few times in his career.
277
00:21:12.400 --> 00:21:13.759
Scoring on your card.
278
00:21:14.000 --> 00:21:16.559
I gave that last round ten to nine to Donnie Lalan.
279
00:21:16.880 --> 00:21:18.880
I would have had a ten to eight except Letter
280
00:21:19.000 --> 00:21:21.000
came back before Thenckdown was.
281
00:21:21.000 --> 00:21:21.720
Doing pretty well.
282
00:21:22.039 --> 00:21:25.359
Okay, that's how I have it, also quite even at
283
00:21:25.440 --> 00:21:33.440
thirty eight thirty eight, two rounds of pace. Checking the
284
00:21:33.519 --> 00:21:39.519
score cards of ours scort Rider friends at ringside, Holly
285
00:21:39.640 --> 00:21:41.000
Max gave that a ten eight.
286
00:21:41.039 --> 00:21:45.240
Round and he's given the last tutor Lalan. Mike Carley
287
00:21:45.759 --> 00:21:50.920
scored that round four Lalan and has given Lalan the
288
00:21:51.000 --> 00:21:51.480
last two.
289
00:21:51.960 --> 00:21:54.480
And Gert Schugar scored the last two rounds for Lalan.
290
00:21:54.599 --> 00:21:55.680
He's given him the last two.
291
00:22:14.640 --> 00:22:14.920
Sugar.
292
00:22:15.039 --> 00:22:17.640
Ray Leonard fought only once in the last five years.
293
00:22:19.640 --> 00:22:29.319
He's in great shape though for this fight. At thirty
294
00:22:29.319 --> 00:22:35.359
two years of age, which in boxing now is like ancient.
295
00:22:36.960 --> 00:22:43.680
In tennis, it's ancient. A couple of left hooks from
296
00:22:43.759 --> 00:22:54.920
Laland are really reaching Sugar Ray Leonard. No, I don't
297
00:22:54.920 --> 00:22:58.359
think Sugar Ray Leonard Leonard underestimated Donnie Lalande, but I
298
00:22:58.440 --> 00:22:59.720
think at the same time, though I don't.
299
00:22:59.559 --> 00:23:00.160
Think he'd get.
300
00:23:01.559 --> 00:23:06.240
He'd get hitting the nose, a couple of jabs and
301
00:23:06.319 --> 00:23:19.279
he's busted open body punched till a land that time
302
00:23:19.319 --> 00:23:25.400
from Sugar Ray Leonard and Rich Steele has to break
303
00:23:25.440 --> 00:23:31.599
it up. Now, Sugar Ray Leonard is in his element.
304
00:23:34.359 --> 00:23:38.559
Thirty seconds left used both left and right.
305
00:23:41.839 --> 00:23:42.160
Leonard.
306
00:23:51.240 --> 00:23:53.519
While Lande was winning the beginning part of this round,
307
00:23:53.599 --> 00:24:01.319
Sugar Ray Leonard has one round five without question. All
308
00:24:01.359 --> 00:24:04.000
it takes is a couple more punches and the legs
309
00:24:04.039 --> 00:24:06.720
are gonna start getting rubbery for Donnie Lalande.
310
00:24:09.200 --> 00:24:23.920
Here's some action from round number five.
311
00:24:26.079 --> 00:24:31.680
Oh crushing rights. How does the Laland not get knocked
312
00:24:31.720 --> 00:24:36.160
out with those? My gosh, he was still stit ah
313
00:24:37.000 --> 00:24:39.839
who win brutal.
314
00:24:41.119 --> 00:24:45.119
The overhand right at least it was in his days
315
00:24:49.440 --> 00:24:50.960
and real solid action in there.
316
00:24:54.160 --> 00:24:54.559
Says he.
317
00:24:56.440 --> 00:24:57.680
Run sixte.
318
00:25:03.960 --> 00:25:15.599
Round six begins. I think on the outside and a
319
00:25:15.759 --> 00:25:18.200
left right there from Sugar Ray Leonard.
320
00:25:21.079 --> 00:25:25.680
Concentration drops that left hand. He's open to the right.
321
00:25:32.440 --> 00:25:32.720
Leonard.
322
00:25:33.559 --> 00:25:36.240
But I think.
323
00:25:39.359 --> 00:25:44.200
It well for shadowing with Stallone talking about this fight,
324
00:25:44.240 --> 00:25:46.720
because of course The Contender would be a reality show
325
00:25:47.039 --> 00:25:50.400
on NBC, and Sugar Ray Leonard was one of the
326
00:25:52.319 --> 00:25:57.079
uh producers and featured fighters on there. So I remember
327
00:25:57.119 --> 00:26:01.640
watching The Contender on NBC, much to my brother Nate's chagrin.
328
00:26:01.799 --> 00:26:03.480
You think he wanted to watch something else.
329
00:26:05.680 --> 00:26:06.079
Going on.
330
00:26:09.200 --> 00:26:12.160
Perfect He's not throwing him down the middle. They're coming
331
00:26:12.160 --> 00:26:15.039
down over the top, but coming from outside, but not
332
00:26:15.279 --> 00:26:15.880
down the middle.
333
00:26:37.599 --> 00:26:39.880
Rich Steele has been super busy in this fight.
334
00:26:41.400 --> 00:26:49.000
Traditions good.
335
00:26:50.599 --> 00:26:53.960
Edistan, don't forget.
336
00:26:54.039 --> 00:26:57.240
On Wednesday, August twenty six, will have the final edition
337
00:26:57.319 --> 00:27:01.119
of the playback in the month of August. Brett Saberhagen's
338
00:27:01.200 --> 00:27:04.720
No Hitter from nineteen ninety one, the Chicago White Sox
339
00:27:04.759 --> 00:27:06.880
took on the Kansas City Royals. It's the first time
340
00:27:06.920 --> 00:27:10.640
we've had the Royals on the playbacks.
341
00:27:26.519 --> 00:27:27.279
Very effective or.
342
00:27:33.680 --> 00:27:38.440
Thirty seconds left of round six, Well, Lon's got to
343
00:27:38.440 --> 00:27:44.680
get out of that corner. Another right from Sugar Ray
344
00:27:44.799 --> 00:27:47.640
Leonard right to Donnie Lawan's jaw.
345
00:27:50.880 --> 00:27:54.400
That happened to.
346
00:27:59.039 --> 00:28:00.400
Roy Leonard.
347
00:28:06.960 --> 00:28:10.319
That does it for round six and Sugar Ray Leonard
348
00:28:10.319 --> 00:28:11.279
has won that one though.
349
00:28:17.119 --> 00:28:19.960
Let's see that right hand by Donny Lalan. He came in,
350
00:28:20.119 --> 00:28:21.119
he fired the right hand.
351
00:28:21.160 --> 00:28:22.240
It was right before that.
352
00:28:22.720 --> 00:28:23.400
I believe that it was.
353
00:28:23.559 --> 00:28:25.880
He landed the right and Leonard was doing everything he
354
00:28:25.920 --> 00:28:28.400
could to stay close and take away the right hand
355
00:28:28.440 --> 00:28:28.880
of Milan.
356
00:28:31.440 --> 00:28:33.599
The left hand was a feeble kind of left hand.
357
00:28:33.759 --> 00:28:36.119
Leonard went over the head with the left, left himself
358
00:28:36.160 --> 00:28:38.319
open and the right got him. His knees went. He
359
00:28:38.680 --> 00:28:39.720
definitely was hurt.
360
00:28:45.200 --> 00:28:47.559
And here's Leonard finishing strong.
361
00:28:49.359 --> 00:28:54.079
Aside from that one shot by Sugar Ray Leonard or
362
00:28:54.160 --> 00:28:56.759
by Donny Laalan rather that right hand it really was
363
00:28:56.799 --> 00:28:57.960
a Sugar Ray Leonard ron He.
364
00:28:58.000 --> 00:28:58.839
Did it with his jack.
365
00:28:59.079 --> 00:28:59.759
He did it with a hand.
366
00:28:59.799 --> 00:29:02.799
It's a sold out Caesar's Paddlas in Las Vegas, Nevada.
367
00:29:02.880 --> 00:29:05.319
For this one, he came in November of eighty eight.
368
00:29:05.920 --> 00:29:08.440
This was after the election. Right George Bush and uh
369
00:29:09.519 --> 00:29:16.519
Mike Dukakis trying to put the pressure on. Round seven begins.
370
00:29:18.160 --> 00:29:19.759
Take them against the ropes.
371
00:29:22.200 --> 00:29:23.559
Leney bout of his feet.
372
00:29:23.680 --> 00:29:25.039
Trying to get all the leverage.
373
00:29:25.400 --> 00:29:27.640
It is one hundred sixty five or whatever. It is
374
00:29:27.880 --> 00:29:29.839
one hundred sixty two pound.
375
00:29:29.680 --> 00:29:33.000
By Leonard using his smarts to get off the ropes
376
00:29:33.000 --> 00:29:33.759
and out of trouble.
377
00:29:34.880 --> 00:29:37.119
There were reports today that Leonard, although he waited won
378
00:29:37.200 --> 00:29:38.640
sixty five, came in with.
379
00:29:38.720 --> 00:29:42.000
Some sand in some sandbags in his pants. He never
380
00:29:42.119 --> 00:29:44.240
did take those pants as it more than reports to
381
00:29:44.279 --> 00:29:44.839
have it on good.
382
00:29:45.319 --> 00:29:51.200
And he was doing it as a sipe measure to
383
00:29:51.240 --> 00:29:53.200
make Donnie seed. And he really was a big man.
384
00:29:53.519 --> 00:29:55.000
His trainer, Jackspart, he called me.
385
00:29:55.079 --> 00:29:56.400
He was one sixty two and a half.
386
00:30:00.039 --> 00:30:05.039
Official scores at ringside. Bally Matthews of news Day has
387
00:30:05.400 --> 00:30:08.880
Leonard ahead fifty seven fifty six. Mike Barley of the
388
00:30:08.960 --> 00:30:09.480
New York.
389
00:30:09.400 --> 00:30:12.480
Post has it even at fifty seven vert Sugar A
390
00:30:12.640 --> 00:30:16.240
ring magazine of Boxing Illustrated has it Leonard.
391
00:30:16.000 --> 00:30:18.839
Fifty seven, Lalan fifty five. I've got a fifty eight
392
00:30:18.839 --> 00:30:20.079
to fifty six for letters.
393
00:30:20.640 --> 00:30:23.880
So the lot fifty eight to fifty six two points sugar,
394
00:30:23.960 --> 00:30:24.480
Ray Leonard.
395
00:30:25.240 --> 00:30:26.480
Leonard keeps lending.
396
00:30:26.279 --> 00:30:32.279
That overhand, right, lad tight Leonard, and that would stomped
397
00:30:32.319 --> 00:30:33.440
on me where he was.
398
00:30:34.920 --> 00:30:37.000
Lan is shaking me backs off.
399
00:30:42.480 --> 00:30:44.480
The right hand has been.
400
00:30:44.400 --> 00:30:48.759
Extremely effected for Leonard, has Lalan trying.
401
00:30:48.559 --> 00:31:00.160
To measure Leonard again. The termination finishes with the right hand.
402
00:31:00.559 --> 00:31:01.839
Story for Sugar.
403
00:31:05.160 --> 00:31:09.000
Oh, another one.
404
00:31:10.799 --> 00:31:14.039
A mistake working it up here with that.
405
00:31:22.240 --> 00:31:25.440
Is always dangerous with that thunderous right hand.
406
00:31:33.359 --> 00:31:47.359
Thirty seconds left of round seven, and now now Donnie
407
00:31:47.440 --> 00:31:49.319
Lawan is starting to miss some of those punches on
408
00:31:49.400 --> 00:31:53.319
Sugar Ray Leonard and Sugar Ray Leonard more than happy
409
00:31:53.359 --> 00:32:11.079
to oblige with some combinations. Round seven comes to a close. Yep,
410
00:32:11.119 --> 00:32:23.440
Sugar Ray Leonard won that round for sure, all.
411
00:32:23.359 --> 00:32:28.519
Right enough, you couldn't be, you could be.
412
00:32:43.880 --> 00:32:46.319
Don't try to knock him out one right hand. You gotta.
413
00:32:55.200 --> 00:32:58.839
Comes September, it's gonna feel like knockout punches for yours truly.
414
00:32:58.960 --> 00:33:06.640
On the play back, round eight starts. There's thirty days
415
00:33:06.680 --> 00:33:08.920
in September, right, well, there's gonna be at least sixteen,
416
00:33:08.960 --> 00:33:12.279
if not seventeen editions of the playback here on the
417
00:33:12.319 --> 00:33:14.000
Pulse podcast network for September.
418
00:33:14.039 --> 00:33:14.680
We're gearing up.
419
00:33:14.720 --> 00:33:19.240
We got baseball, we got football, not to mention boxing
420
00:33:19.279 --> 00:33:26.799
and wrestling. I'm ready, I'm ready for it. I just
421
00:33:26.880 --> 00:33:31.720
got back from my vacation from Queens watching Mets games.
422
00:33:32.079 --> 00:33:34.960
They won three out of four. The first game was
423
00:33:35.039 --> 00:33:37.599
the Nationals and Mets. Mets won that game, and then
424
00:33:37.640 --> 00:33:39.799
they took two out of three from the San Diego
425
00:33:39.960 --> 00:33:43.759
Padres and had a fantastic time. First time that I
426
00:33:43.799 --> 00:33:49.519
ever been to City Field. I met the Mets, I
427
00:33:49.640 --> 00:33:54.279
met mister Mett, I met Missus, met Hi missus mett.
428
00:33:59.400 --> 00:33:59.599
Oh.
429
00:34:00.920 --> 00:34:03.240
That was a left right on the left side of
430
00:34:03.359 --> 00:34:17.039
Donnie Lalan's face from Sugar Ray Leonard. Point Lalan, he's
431
00:34:17.079 --> 00:34:20.239
gonna need another knockout of some kind now as trainers
432
00:34:20.280 --> 00:34:22.360
were telling him, don't do that knockout punch. Don't try
433
00:34:22.400 --> 00:34:24.559
to go for the knockout, and they're right. Don't go
434
00:34:24.719 --> 00:34:28.159
for the the the the sweet knockout punch that will
435
00:34:28.360 --> 00:34:31.079
end the fight. Try to just drink a combination of
436
00:34:31.159 --> 00:34:33.000
some kind that will kind of knock him down. Like
437
00:34:33.199 --> 00:34:34.280
in the previous round.
438
00:35:00.079 --> 00:35:03.000
About here Angela Dundee from his home in Miami, screaming,
439
00:35:03.400 --> 00:35:07.519
get off the rocks, kid, get off the rucks. Let's nose.
440
00:35:09.119 --> 00:35:20.360
Nowadays again another left hook from Sugar Ray Leonard has
441
00:35:20.400 --> 00:35:21.639
been one point smarting.
442
00:35:26.039 --> 00:35:28.519
Let me looking a little tired besides the back offer
443
00:35:28.599 --> 00:35:30.800
at least trying to sucker around this.
444
00:35:31.159 --> 00:35:32.760
Vinny Passian to try that last.
445
00:35:32.639 --> 00:35:36.239
Time thirty seconds to go in round eight as a
446
00:35:36.719 --> 00:35:37.880
or anybody.
447
00:35:37.400 --> 00:35:40.199
Else ever did it? He really looked tired and he
448
00:35:40.320 --> 00:35:41.440
sucker dotty right in.
449
00:35:44.719 --> 00:35:45.400
But who knows?
450
00:35:45.559 --> 00:35:48.719
This is a soft ring, a squishy ring, not good
451
00:35:48.880 --> 00:35:50.679
for a guy like Sugar Ray Leonard who likes to
452
00:35:50.880 --> 00:35:51.440
use the ring.
453
00:35:53.159 --> 00:35:55.719
He rode out a hard surface to bounce around on.
454
00:36:01.840 --> 00:36:05.559
Another left hook that ends the round. Round eight, Sugar
455
00:36:05.639 --> 00:36:08.199
Ray Leonard once again wins that round.
456
00:36:10.320 --> 00:36:15.960
Scary all the lady on the cut Jacks Morton talks
457
00:36:16.079 --> 00:36:17.079
him outside the ring.
458
00:36:22.000 --> 00:36:26.800
Shot early in the round, Donny Leman came in, got
459
00:36:26.840 --> 00:36:29.599
a right hand in, after a left hand, got another
460
00:36:29.719 --> 00:36:32.119
right hand, came bowling and tried a muscle.
461
00:36:32.159 --> 00:36:33.360
Sugar eight lettered the round, but.
462
00:36:33.599 --> 00:36:35.559
Let it push his head down and kept off bounce
463
00:36:36.159 --> 00:36:36.960
left hands here to.
464
00:36:37.000 --> 00:36:41.880
The looking on the replay, left.
465
00:36:44.000 --> 00:36:46.280
Stone with a view of what's going on?
466
00:36:46.480 --> 00:36:50.519
Right with Derek? Is this what you expected?
467
00:36:54.079 --> 00:36:54.199
Bo?
468
00:36:54.440 --> 00:36:59.000
Derek now talking to Roy Firestone is now I think
469
00:36:59.039 --> 00:36:59.280
he is?
470
00:36:59.400 --> 00:37:04.079
Yes, it is back to sign control I just gave
471
00:37:04.679 --> 00:37:06.679
I gave Leonard also for round eight.
472
00:37:07.079 --> 00:37:08.079
I've give him d.
473
00:37:10.239 --> 00:37:13.960
That's lovely. Round nine begins. You give Bo Derek at ten,
474
00:37:14.000 --> 00:37:16.000
and you give this fight at ten. It might not
475
00:37:16.079 --> 00:37:18.280
reach the tenth round, but it may reach the tenth round.
476
00:37:18.280 --> 00:37:20.719
Or in the ninth. So it's a twelve round bout.
477
00:37:20.840 --> 00:37:23.360
So underneath the right eye and.
478
00:37:28.920 --> 00:37:29.760
What a crew? Huh?
479
00:37:30.000 --> 00:37:35.519
Roy Firestone talking to Jesse the body of Ventura, Sylvester Stallone.
480
00:37:35.119 --> 00:37:37.480
And Bo Derek in that order.
481
00:37:37.800 --> 00:37:38.960
Boxing career.
482
00:37:41.679 --> 00:37:49.000
Good good left hook, dropped his right hand and Leonard.
483
00:37:48.760 --> 00:37:50.440
Got home to the head.
484
00:37:52.039 --> 00:38:12.599
Letter again.
485
00:38:16.800 --> 00:38:19.679
Now it's going the jam and.
486
00:38:23.119 --> 00:38:26.559
Get a game with ample combinations.
487
00:38:28.159 --> 00:38:31.119
Oh, I'm not.
488
00:38:31.239 --> 00:38:35.000
Holding Sugar Ray Leonard now taking the brunt of Donnie
489
00:38:35.039 --> 00:38:39.159
l Lan's combinations. The Golden Boy, he may go out
490
00:38:39.199 --> 00:38:45.199
for that knockout punch. He's got something here. He minute
491
00:38:45.239 --> 00:38:55.320
fifteen to go in round nine. Ar Now he's in
492
00:38:55.400 --> 00:39:04.480
a corner. Ah, Donnie Laland is down. The Golden Boy
493
00:39:04.679 --> 00:39:05.119
is down?
494
00:39:05.280 --> 00:39:05.719
Is he out?
495
00:39:21.280 --> 00:39:22.360
Now he's back in the corner.
496
00:39:22.440 --> 00:39:25.480
That's it. He's out. That just knocked him out. That's it.
497
00:39:27.039 --> 00:39:47.480
That's it, Sugar Ray Leonard wins. Laland is out cold.
498
00:40:01.840 --> 00:40:05.440
He wasn't bleaning the entire fight until those two knockout
499
00:40:05.480 --> 00:40:18.559
punches from Sugar Ray Leonard. Trainers are looking at him too.
500
00:40:18.679 --> 00:40:29.320
He is out. That's a t k oh.
501
00:40:29.440 --> 00:41:17.039
By the way, we got a new world's champion. So
502
00:41:17.239 --> 00:41:20.840
Sugar Ray Leonard wins the WBC Light Heavyweight and then
503
00:41:21.239 --> 00:41:25.159
the inaugural super middleweight titles. Five different weight classes for
504
00:41:25.239 --> 00:41:29.360
Sugar Ray Leonard, legend, Hall of Famer. That this is
505
00:41:29.559 --> 00:41:39.840
just a masterclass in this round nine Sugar Ray, Donnie
506
00:41:39.920 --> 00:41:42.199
l lan didn't know where he is after a couple
507
00:41:42.280 --> 00:41:47.320
of those punches right there, the Golden Boy, those combinations
508
00:41:47.360 --> 00:41:54.559
and those hard right hands just absolutely devastating Donnie Lalande.
509
00:41:59.480 --> 00:41:59.639
Time.
510
00:42:02.719 --> 00:42:09.280
Both are orthodox boxers, by the way, so all it
511
00:42:09.360 --> 00:42:16.039
takes is one more punch right there. Done, Donnie is done.
512
00:42:19.199 --> 00:42:19.480
Wow.
513
00:42:19.719 --> 00:42:21.880
What a performance by Sugar Ray Leonard.
514
00:42:22.360 --> 00:42:23.119
And that does it.
515
00:42:23.320 --> 00:42:27.000
For the August twenty twenty six edition of Jay Doo's
516
00:42:27.039 --> 00:42:30.480
Boxing Bout of the Month special. Thanks to Vintage Boxing
517
00:42:30.599 --> 00:42:33.880
on their YouTube channel for providing that fight. Thank you
518
00:42:33.960 --> 00:42:37.320
for listening and downloading. I really do truly appreciate it.
519
00:42:37.679 --> 00:42:43.559
We've got more on the way for baseball, for boxing
520
00:42:43.679 --> 00:42:47.639

00:43:44.280 --> 00:43:47.199
our parlays are locks of the week. We do that

show every single week during football season, whether it be

00:43:59.360 --> 00:44:03.000
college football, pro football, is mainly pro football. He may
542
00:44:03.039 --> 00:44:07.280
pepper in some college though, and that'll be coming this
543
00:44:07.599 --> 00:44:11.000
fall on the beth This umbrella of the Pulse podcast
544
00:44:11.159 --> 00:44:14.559
Network and Siege. You'll talk more about that on bet
545
00:44:14.639 --> 00:44:17.480
this and I'll talk more about it as the season progresses.
546
00:44:17.880 --> 00:44:20.599
As we are nearing football season, I mean college football
547
00:44:20.679 --> 00:44:23.880
season Week zero begins this week, and then we've got
548
00:44:23.920 --> 00:44:28.079
the NFL shortly thereafter, and then we are full gear
549
00:44:28.440 --> 00:44:33.119
with football, high school football, college football, pro football, football,
550
00:44:33.159 --> 00:44:36.000
football football. It's all coming towards your way in the
551
00:44:36.079 --> 00:44:39.480
month of September. We've got another edition of Jay Dogs
552
00:44:39.519 --> 00:44:41.840
Boxing Bout of the Month coming to you in September.
553
00:44:42.119 --> 00:44:47.239
The poll will be coming on Wednesday, September first, and
554
00:44:48.119 --> 00:44:53.840
whether Tuesday, excuse me, Tuesday September first. Tuesday September first,
555
00:44:54.000 --> 00:44:57.880
Jay Dog's Boxing Bout of the Month Boxing Poll. We'll
556
00:44:57.880 --> 00:45:00.440
have four matches there you'll be able to pick. You'll
557
00:45:00.480 --> 00:45:02.559
have about a week to do that. We'll have that
558
00:45:02.679 --> 00:45:06.719
sometime in September, as well as Jaydoc's Wrestling Match of
559
00:45:06.800 --> 00:45:10.400
the Month poll, which will be on September third. That
560
00:45:10.480 --> 00:45:13.760
will be on a Thursday, and I think that's the
561
00:45:15.239 --> 00:45:17.400
I will have something on the play right, I will
562
00:45:17.440 --> 00:45:18.840
have something on the playback.
563
00:45:18.480 --> 00:45:18.880
There for you.
564
00:45:19.000 --> 00:45:22.559
I think that's Bud Smith's no hitter, Bud Smith of
565
00:45:22.599 --> 00:45:25.400
the Saint Louis Cardinals taking on the San Diego Padres.
566
00:45:25.440 --> 00:45:25.679
Again.
567
00:45:25.679 --> 00:45:27.440
We got a lot, so much going on. I'm looking
568
00:45:27.440 --> 00:45:30.119
at my schedule right now and I have stuff filled
569
00:45:30.199 --> 00:45:33.480
out all through September. So it's gonna be nuts, it's
570
00:45:33.559 --> 00:45:36.000
gonna be insane, but I know that's what you want,
571
00:45:36.400 --> 00:45:39.800
that's what I want, because, let's face it, sports never stops,
572
00:45:40.000 --> 00:45:42.159
especially in the month of September when we've got some
573
00:45:42.280 --> 00:45:46.639
classics going on for Sunday Night football. We've got stuff
574
00:45:46.719 --> 00:45:53.519
going on in baseball and also wrestling, boxing, boxing, wrestling.
575
00:45:53.599 --> 00:45:56.760
It's all there, it's all good. The playback here on
576
00:45:56.840 --> 00:46:00.360
the Pulse Podcast Network. Don't forget to listen to, forget
577
00:46:00.400 --> 00:46:03.519
to download, don't forget to let your friends know. Bet
578
00:46:03.599 --> 00:46:07.400
this peon X, bet this pod on Instagram, and I'm
579
00:46:07.440 --> 00:46:11.440
coming back to you later this week for Brett Saberhagen's
580
00:46:11.559 --> 00:46:14.119
no hitter the Kansas City Royals, that's the team he
581
00:46:14.239 --> 00:46:17.679
was playing for, taking on the Chicago White Sox. And
582
00:46:17.760 --> 00:46:20.119
then come September, it's gonna be
583
00:46:20.480 --> 00:46:24.800
Nuts if you've been listening to the playback on the
584
00:46:25.039 --> 00:46:26.760
Pulse podcast network,
1
00:00:00.200 --> 00:00:03.680
The following is a production of the poll's podcast network.
2
00:00:03.799 --> 00:00:06.360
In this edition of the playback, it's Jay Dogs Boxing
3
00:00:06.400 --> 00:00:08.519
Out of the Month for August twenty twenty six for
4
00:00:08.679 --> 00:00:11.800
all the gold WBC Light Heavyweight champ Donnie the Golden
5
00:00:11.800 --> 00:00:14.759
Boy La Lawn took on WBC number one rank super
6
00:00:14.800 --> 00:00:17.839
middleweight Sugar Ray Leonard on November seventh, nineteen eighty eight
7
00:00:17.879 --> 00:00:20.199
from Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.
8
00:00:33.439 --> 00:00:37.920
Special thanks to Vintage Boxing for providing this video on YouTube.
9
00:00:37.960 --> 00:00:40.280
As I watch it and you hear it. In the
10
00:00:40.320 --> 00:00:43.520
month of August twenty twenty six, we only have September, October,
11
00:00:43.560 --> 00:00:46.640
November and December to go for Jade Dogs Boxing Bout
12
00:00:46.640 --> 00:00:48.600
of the Month. There will be no poll in December,
13
00:00:48.960 --> 00:00:52.600
but there will be one in September, October and November,
14
00:00:52.600 --> 00:00:56.399
and then that's it. That's the list for X bet
15
00:00:56.399 --> 00:01:00.840
this pon X for Jade Dogs Boxing of the Month poll.
16
00:01:00.960 --> 00:01:04.760
Ditto for wrestling. We'll have a poll in September October,
17
00:01:04.920 --> 00:01:07.519
not in November, but one in December, and then that
18
00:01:07.560 --> 00:01:09.879
will be come twenty twenty seven to the whole year
19
00:01:10.640 --> 00:01:13.680
of doing Jade Dog's Boxing Bout in Jade doggs Wrestling
20
00:01:13.760 --> 00:01:17.519
Match of the Month for the poll that will conclude
21
00:01:17.599 --> 00:01:22.680
in twenty twenty seven. Once January arrives, no more polls.
22
00:01:23.480 --> 00:01:27.000
And before it was the Golden Boy for Oscar de
23
00:01:27.120 --> 00:01:29.640
la Hoya. Four years later in nineteen ninety two in
24
00:01:29.680 --> 00:01:33.519
the Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain, and a star
25
00:01:33.680 --> 00:01:40.120
was essentially born. It was Donnie Lalande out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada,
26
00:01:40.359 --> 00:01:44.120
being the Golden Boy taking on Sugar Ray Leonard. The
27
00:01:44.159 --> 00:01:46.640
tail of the tape right now as follows from nineteen
28
00:01:46.719 --> 00:01:50.000
eighty eight six foot one, six and one three quarters
29
00:01:50.040 --> 00:01:53.480
three quarters for Lalande, five ten and a half for
30
00:01:53.519 --> 00:01:55.959
Sugar Ray Leonard, who, by the way, this was his
31
00:01:56.120 --> 00:01:59.000
third time coming out of retirement. He was becoming the
32
00:01:59.000 --> 00:02:03.040
Elvis of box. My mother always says that Elvis had
33
00:02:03.319 --> 00:02:07.120
more comebacks than a career. Hard to argue with your mother.
34
00:02:07.519 --> 00:02:11.039
Your mother should know. Wait one sixty seven for the
35
00:02:11.080 --> 00:02:15.479
Golden Boy for Sugar Ray won, sixty five, thirty two
36
00:02:15.560 --> 00:02:19.240
years of age for Leonard, twenty eight for Lalande and
37
00:02:19.280 --> 00:02:23.479
the reach pretty close. Seventy seven for Lalande, seventy four
38
00:02:23.560 --> 00:02:27.919
for Sugar Ray Leonard, and the announcers for this because
39
00:02:27.919 --> 00:02:30.960
this was on pay per view. It was Sam Rosen,
40
00:02:31.000 --> 00:02:35.080
who just retired from broadcasting, and Randy Gordon with Roy
41
00:02:35.159 --> 00:02:42.240
Firestone doing the interviews outside the ring, and they're about
42
00:02:42.280 --> 00:02:46.319
ready to get it on the Golden Boy and Sugar
43
00:02:46.439 --> 00:02:53.400
Ray Leonard Caesar's Palace as Chuck Hull as the ring announcer,
44
00:03:00.199 --> 00:03:01.240
Bomb of Detroit.
45
00:03:01.000 --> 00:03:07.639
Michigan and Brands Marty Switzerland.
46
00:03:07.639 --> 00:03:08.479
You get the knockdowns.
47
00:03:09.560 --> 00:03:15.280
The attending ringside doctors Donald Romeo and James Game and
48
00:03:15.680 --> 00:03:18.360
referee is Richard Steel.
49
00:03:19.360 --> 00:03:27.400
Rich Steele is the referee tuns twelve Rounds, Super middle.
50
00:03:27.199 --> 00:03:32.039
Way and Anyway Championships of the World.
51
00:03:32.240 --> 00:03:34.319
A new title was going to be formed after this
52
00:03:34.439 --> 00:03:35.439
fight though.
53
00:03:38.560 --> 00:03:45.960
Sixty wings on the.
54
00:03:43.599 --> 00:03:49.479
Potomac Beryland's own Sugar Ray Leonard wearing black trunks this
55
00:03:49.560 --> 00:03:52.759
time thirty four wins, one loss, twenty four knockouts by
56
00:03:52.759 --> 00:03:58.400
the way, black trunks, which says sugar and gold. And
57
00:03:58.560 --> 00:04:00.759
he's got a couple of sponsors. I think Franklin being
58
00:04:00.800 --> 00:04:03.680
one of them, you know, like Franklin batting gloves, but
59
00:04:03.719 --> 00:04:06.719
they have in baseball Franklin Sporting Goods essentially, which is
60
00:04:06.719 --> 00:04:14.120
actually located in Massachusetts winn at Peg Manitoba, Canada's own
61
00:04:14.240 --> 00:04:19.000
The Golden Boy, Donnie Lalande twenty eight years young, thirty
62
00:04:19.040 --> 00:04:28.480
one wins two losses, twenty six knockouts. By the way,
63
00:04:29.360 --> 00:04:32.279
he's wearing black trunks that say Laland and gold as well,
64
00:04:32.600 --> 00:04:34.639
and he also has a patch on there that says
65
00:04:34.680 --> 00:04:37.879
no excuse for child abuse or is it domestic abuse?
66
00:04:37.959 --> 00:04:44.759
Let me look at it again. I think Caesar's Palace
67
00:04:44.839 --> 00:04:48.879
is another sponsor on Sugar Ray Leonard's trunks. Let me see, okay,
68
00:04:48.920 --> 00:04:56.759
I'm looking at the Golden Boy he's wearing. By the way,
69
00:04:57.000 --> 00:05:04.360
the Golden Boy he's wearing, he's wearing black uh shoes
70
00:05:04.560 --> 00:05:10.800
with gold trim and gold socks, not gold shrim gold laces.
71
00:05:11.279 --> 00:05:18.240
Round one begins and Sugar Ray Leonard wearing black boots
72
00:05:18.279 --> 00:05:29.759
with black and white tassels and white socks. This is
73
00:05:29.800 --> 00:05:32.879
Donnie Lalan's time to shine here taking on a living
74
00:05:32.959 --> 00:05:38.800
legend in Sugar Ray Leonard. I think it's no excuse
75
00:05:38.839 --> 00:06:02.839
for child abuse, has a broken heart, quick hands, coarse
76
00:06:02.959 --> 00:06:06.079
extra gold light is the sponsor. In the middle of
77
00:06:06.120 --> 00:06:09.920
the ring. You've got red, white, blue, white ropes, so
78
00:06:10.079 --> 00:06:18.000
four ropes theres.
79
00:06:19.519 --> 00:06:20.720
It didn't bother me at all.
80
00:06:21.000 --> 00:06:22.600
He was a good scoring shot.
81
00:06:23.439 --> 00:06:26.360
But it sends a message that Leonard could get in
82
00:06:26.639 --> 00:06:27.480
and he could land.
83
00:06:29.439 --> 00:06:31.879
But that's exactly how I believe Leonard will fight them
84
00:06:33.639 --> 00:06:47.600
in it quick Black Ray, how to think about that?
85
00:06:47.759 --> 00:06:49.959
It's that a white hand kim wing past his chin.
86
00:07:00.839 --> 00:07:05.040
Boxing poll on Tuesday, September first bet this pee on
87
00:07:05.319 --> 00:07:11.120
X Wrestling. Poll on September third on X Bet this pe.
88
00:07:11.480 --> 00:07:14.759
So we'll have four matches four or four bouts for
89
00:07:15.040 --> 00:07:17.480
of course, as we do four boxing and four wrestling
90
00:07:17.480 --> 00:07:23.720
matches for wrestling. The time the career looks like silver
91
00:07:23.839 --> 00:07:26.079
trim on l Land on the side.
92
00:07:27.120 --> 00:07:27.480
Towards that.
93
00:07:30.279 --> 00:07:42.519
You never like, you never liked, hard standing person, standing
94
00:07:42.600 --> 00:07:46.759
up for training and.
95
00:07:55.800 --> 00:07:59.720
H it's picking up now.
96
00:08:00.120 --> 00:08:02.720
Say that Leonard does not want to get close.
97
00:08:04.319 --> 00:08:07.199
And first round comes to a close.
98
00:08:08.959 --> 00:08:10.680
On a line trying to get.
99
00:08:10.519 --> 00:08:14.399
The nerves out of the system, Sugar Ray Leonard.
100
00:08:16.000 --> 00:08:16.759
Under control.
101
00:08:17.000 --> 00:08:20.639
Jax Morton liked that Roy Firestone is rolling around inside
102
00:08:20.800 --> 00:08:22.639
Roy Sam, thank you.
103
00:08:22.639 --> 00:08:26.120
Very much for Roy Firestone talking to Jesse the body
104
00:08:26.240 --> 00:08:29.600
Ventura kind Well, I don't know, I really didn't see Donnie.
105
00:08:29.639 --> 00:08:31.319
I came in after Donnie had been there.
106
00:08:31.319 --> 00:08:32.320
It's called Thunderground.
107
00:08:32.360 --> 00:08:34.720
Should be out in February, but I'm pupped up for this.
108
00:08:34.720 --> 00:08:37.000
Fight tonight be just feeling each other out. Now it's
109
00:08:37.000 --> 00:08:37.799
going to be a lot more.
110
00:08:37.960 --> 00:08:41.960
But remember everybody, November twenty fourth, the Survivor Series in.
111
00:08:41.960 --> 00:08:43.279
The World Wrestling Federation.
112
00:08:43.679 --> 00:08:45.960
Then I'll be behind the Mike Roy ride belong.
113
00:08:46.080 --> 00:08:47.679
Now we can only break out of a shell.
114
00:08:47.759 --> 00:08:50.440
Thank you, Jesse, thank you. Right back to Ringsidy.
115
00:08:50.519 --> 00:08:53.360
This is the only man who was let into ringside
116
00:08:53.360 --> 00:08:56.480
through security because everybody wanted his autograph.
117
00:08:56.639 --> 00:08:58.279
Jesse okay, and he didn't.
118
00:08:58.000 --> 00:09:03.360
Have the press pass, and nobody wanted to stop him.
119
00:09:05.759 --> 00:09:06.759
Round two begins.
120
00:09:06.840 --> 00:09:10.759
So Jesse the body Ventura was promoting nineteen eighty eight
121
00:09:10.919 --> 00:09:14.120
WWF Survivor Series, or the was f at the time,
122
00:09:14.159 --> 00:09:19.679
of course, and he was behind the mic little pay
123
00:09:19.679 --> 00:09:21.759
per view promotion there.
124
00:09:21.799 --> 00:09:22.360
I guess.
125
00:09:23.879 --> 00:09:24.639
How true it is.
126
00:09:35.919 --> 00:09:38.639
I think Sugar Ray Leonard won the first round just barely,
127
00:09:38.799 --> 00:09:42.360
just barely. Like any round, you gotta get a feel
128
00:09:42.399 --> 00:09:42.679
for it.
129
00:09:44.000 --> 00:09:47.559
Both men looking for the right at a good point.
130
00:09:48.399 --> 00:09:50.360
It's that money punch you look for. You don't want
131
00:09:50.360 --> 00:09:51.600
to do it in the first round. I mean you know,
132
00:09:51.720 --> 00:09:55.360
unless you're Mike Tyson, of course get in and get out.
133
00:09:56.320 --> 00:10:01.279
But he always complained though he needed more rounds. Mike
134
00:10:01.559 --> 00:10:13.960
stands around the ring work for Floyd Mayweather. A lot
135
00:10:13.960 --> 00:10:16.279
of people wondering if Sugar Ray Leonard still had it
136
00:10:17.080 --> 00:10:18.919
because of the third retirement. You know, every time you
137
00:10:19.000 --> 00:10:23.159
retire and you come back, there's always that are you done?
138
00:10:23.559 --> 00:10:26.000
How much do you have left in you? You're not
139
00:10:26.039 --> 00:10:29.200
what you are ten twenty years ago? Okay, do you
140
00:10:29.200 --> 00:10:32.279
still have a little bit left in the tank? How
141
00:10:32.360 --> 00:10:33.879
much of it do you have left in the tank?
142
00:10:34.639 --> 00:10:35.720
To take a shot of the s.
143
00:10:40.039 --> 00:10:43.080
So it's coarse extra gold draft, that's what it is.
144
00:10:43.679 --> 00:10:46.000
That's the sponsor, and it's in the middle of the
145
00:10:46.080 --> 00:10:49.039
ring with Caesar's Palace on each corner.
146
00:10:49.279 --> 00:10:49.960
By the way.
147
00:10:52.000 --> 00:11:01.480
Top left, bottom right, Rich Steele has to break them
148
00:11:01.559 --> 00:11:04.080
up stronger.
149
00:11:03.799 --> 00:11:05.519
Pas Sugar Ray left.
150
00:11:08.200 --> 00:11:13.000
Right to the body made Lalan wins a little bit
151
00:11:15.679 --> 00:11:20.440
yard not showing any porries burd you combinations. To this point,
152
00:11:22.399 --> 00:11:28.120
it's been stay away from the power.
153
00:11:35.960 --> 00:11:39.159
There's thirty seconds left of the second round.
154
00:11:41.720 --> 00:11:42.960
And there was the counter.
155
00:11:47.000 --> 00:11:49.519
A couple of body punches from Sugar Ray Leonard to
156
00:11:50.279 --> 00:12:04.200
Donnie Lalande well Land with a very eighties mullet by
157
00:12:04.240 --> 00:12:10.399
the way down and another.
158
00:12:10.200 --> 00:12:15.360
Comfortable round for the challenger Sugar Ray Leonard. Coming into this,
159
00:12:15.600 --> 00:12:18.840
Fike knew very well the power of Donny Lalan, and
160
00:12:18.879 --> 00:12:20.759
he feels he knows how to diffuse it.
161
00:12:21.799 --> 00:12:23.559
The key for me is to hit, and I got
162
00:12:23.639 --> 00:12:26.759
hit to be inside but not really be there to
163
00:12:26.919 --> 00:12:30.279
frustrate him. It's it starts the way I face other
164
00:12:30.360 --> 00:12:38.919
parts Hens and Haber in particulars.
165
00:12:41.320 --> 00:12:50.200
N forty of Donnie Lalan's KOs have been in round two,
166
00:12:51.000 --> 00:12:54.879
though I wasn't able to get the ko and Sugar
167
00:12:54.960 --> 00:12:56.600
Ray Leonard in that round. He may do in the
168
00:12:56.600 --> 00:12:57.559
third round.
169
00:12:57.480 --> 00:13:01.000
Another one on the sure.
170
00:13:04.159 --> 00:13:11.440
Round three begins in Las Vegas. I'm pretty sure this
171
00:13:11.480 --> 00:13:13.039
is TKO's pay per view, but.
172
00:13:13.279 --> 00:13:16.159
So Super Midweight Championship.
173
00:13:18.559 --> 00:13:21.080
See, they were doing promotion for wrestling before they merged
174
00:13:22.279 --> 00:13:24.600
like they did earlier in this decade.
175
00:13:24.840 --> 00:13:25.600
I believe the win.
176
00:13:31.519 --> 00:13:36.120
Speaking of Potomac or Maryland, don't forget. On September first,
177
00:13:36.720 --> 00:13:39.799
on the Playback on the Pulse podcast network will have
178
00:13:39.879 --> 00:13:43.799
a double header of football. The Baltimore Ravens first ever
179
00:13:44.000 --> 00:13:48.600
NFL regular season game from nineteen ninety six when they
180
00:13:48.600 --> 00:13:52.320
hosted the then Oakland Raiders. That'll be at noon on
181
00:13:52.360 --> 00:13:55.840
September first, and then it'll be the first of eighteen
182
00:13:55.879 --> 00:13:59.519
weeks in a row of classics. Sunday Night Football. Sunday
183
00:13:59.559 --> 00:14:02.919
Night Football Classics, the first ever one that was in
184
00:14:02.960 --> 00:14:06.000
the regular season on NBC, because that's what we're doing.
185
00:14:06.000 --> 00:14:08.399
We're doing the NBC era twenty years of it, two
186
00:14:08.440 --> 00:14:13.360
thousand and six to twenty twenty five. The Manning Bowl,
187
00:14:14.000 --> 00:14:18.600
Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts taking on Eli Manning
188
00:14:19.120 --> 00:14:22.039
and the New York Football Giants.
189
00:14:23.320 --> 00:14:26.200
No more require four.
190
00:14:27.159 --> 00:14:31.799
That'll be eight PM for that that game. The reason
191
00:14:31.799 --> 00:14:36.279
why I have it on September first is because I
192
00:14:37.720 --> 00:14:40.960
want to have consistently eighteen weeks in a row of football.
193
00:14:41.000 --> 00:14:43.159
And if I started the eighteen weeks of football, I
194
00:14:43.159 --> 00:14:45.120
would have had to start it on August thirty first,
195
00:14:45.519 --> 00:14:48.120
and I don't want to do that or August thirtieth.
196
00:14:48.159 --> 00:14:51.720
Excuse me, Sunday August thirtieth. Think I mean posted at
197
00:14:52.639 --> 00:14:56.559
noon usually unless stated, unless I let you know via
198
00:14:56.639 --> 00:15:01.200
social media or an upcoming edition of the playback to
199
00:15:01.320 --> 00:15:04.320
let you know that. For the most part, the Classics
200
00:15:04.320 --> 00:15:07.879
for Sunday Night Football on Sundays will air on the
201
00:15:07.919 --> 00:15:14.320
Pulse podcast network at noon. There might be some exceptions
202
00:15:14.360 --> 00:15:19.120
that they won't air at noon, like baseball games or
203
00:15:19.200 --> 00:15:22.039
World Series games that air on that date. But well
204
00:15:23.039 --> 00:15:26.759
we'll cross that bridge when we find it.
205
00:15:29.000 --> 00:15:31.440
I think you would have showed him away. You think short.
206
00:15:35.639 --> 00:15:40.600
Thirty seconds of round three, nice body punches from the
207
00:15:40.639 --> 00:15:47.000
golden Boy Donnie la landing.
208
00:15:44.480 --> 00:15:47.159
Skills and experience a different.
209
00:15:53.600 --> 00:15:53.919
Sugar.
210
00:15:54.000 --> 00:15:56.960
Ray Leonard got a fifteen million dollar purse for this match,
211
00:15:57.000 --> 00:16:01.200
whereas the purse for la Land was five million dollars.
212
00:16:01.840 --> 00:16:04.200
And no, I don't mean a purse like you carry
213
00:16:04.200 --> 00:16:15.639
a purse like a European carryall.
214
00:16:20.519 --> 00:16:22.799
Watching the action tonight is the man who saw a
215
00:16:22.799 --> 00:16:25.559
lot of action in the ring in the movies Rockies
216
00:16:25.679 --> 00:16:27.279
with Roy Firestone.
217
00:16:27.399 --> 00:16:32.240
Roy Firestone talking to Sylvester Stallone a little.
218
00:16:32.000 --> 00:16:34.240
Bit very much though this is a difficult this is
219
00:16:34.279 --> 00:16:36.120
like a movie. It's a Hollywood fight.
220
00:16:36.200 --> 00:16:39.120
It seems like everything was going against the man, the tension, the.
221
00:16:39.120 --> 00:16:41.799
Pressure of the crowd, and he seems to be rising
222
00:16:41.840 --> 00:16:42.519
to the occasion.
223
00:16:42.799 --> 00:16:46.799
Leonard looks very tentative. He's nervous. He hasn't fight seen
224
00:16:46.840 --> 00:16:48.600
anyone like this. He underplayed this.
225
00:16:48.600 --> 00:16:49.919
This was after Rambo three.
226
00:16:50.440 --> 00:16:53.399
Lelan is like fighting above and beyond his ability right now,
227
00:16:53.399 --> 00:16:54.000
and it's.
228
00:16:53.840 --> 00:16:55.559
To make for an interesting vendue.
229
00:16:56.279 --> 00:16:59.159
Thanks back to ring side, thanks for.
230
00:16:59.120 --> 00:17:04.799
Right Round four begins.
231
00:17:05.200 --> 00:17:10.960
I don't want the extra rests.
232
00:17:11.960 --> 00:17:14.440
I remember Stallone doing a promo for Tuesday Night fights
233
00:17:14.440 --> 00:17:18.000
on USA Network because he had I was filming Rocky five,
234
00:17:18.079 --> 00:17:22.640
I believe, because Tuesday Night fights I believe started around
235
00:17:22.640 --> 00:17:26.000
that time on USA Network because you had you had
236
00:17:26.279 --> 00:17:29.680
wrestling Challenge I think on Monday or primetime wrestling on Monday,
237
00:17:30.319 --> 00:17:32.680
and then on Tuesday or Tuesday Night fights.
238
00:17:32.920 --> 00:17:41.480
So oh, now.
239
00:17:41.400 --> 00:17:44.319
Sugar Ry Leonard's getting some rights and lefts into Donnie
240
00:17:44.359 --> 00:17:53.359
Lalande on his jaw WBC light Heavyweight and WBC Super
241
00:17:53.400 --> 00:17:57.160
Middleweight Championship. Let's not forget that the super Middleweight Championship.
242
00:17:57.160 --> 00:18:01.319
Whoever wins this fight gets the inaugural SU Middleweight Championship
243
00:18:01.319 --> 00:18:09.039
from the WBC because Donnel Lalande is the defending light
244
00:18:09.079 --> 00:18:25.640
heavyweight champ. Though, and then subsequently, as I mentioned, September one,
245
00:18:25.880 --> 00:18:28.359
as you know folks, this year in twenty twenty six,
246
00:18:28.400 --> 00:18:30.720
September first is a Tuesday, so that's where we're going
247
00:18:30.759 --> 00:18:36.039
to have both the playback. So, oh, that's a knockdown,
248
00:18:36.079 --> 00:18:42.160
although Leonard's not knocked down, but Rich Steele is counting him.
249
00:18:42.319 --> 00:18:44.720
Land has won this round so far. In round four,
250
00:18:45.079 --> 00:18:49.920
there's about a minute fifteen left to go. A couple
251
00:18:49.920 --> 00:19:01.359
of body punches from Lalande. The Golden Boy has the
252
00:19:01.440 --> 00:19:04.759
reach and he's taller. He's taller and he has the reach.
253
00:19:07.079 --> 00:19:09.359
For the most part. Sugar Ray Leonard's opponents have been
254
00:19:09.400 --> 00:19:13.359
kind of in the same register weight class and height.
255
00:19:13.440 --> 00:19:19.880
That's not the case here for this match. Oh what
256
00:19:20.000 --> 00:19:32.839
a right by Donnie Lalan right on Sugar Ray Leonards cheek.
257
00:19:36.039 --> 00:19:40.799
Thirty seconds left of round four. Lalande has won this
258
00:19:40.960 --> 00:19:46.079
round with a knockout of Sugar Ray Leonard.
259
00:19:46.240 --> 00:19:52.880
Sugar, but I don't believe an.
260
00:20:00.039 --> 00:20:05.039
Here's that doesn't for the fourth round Loland won that one.
261
00:20:08.119 --> 00:20:10.200
Trainers are gonna have to tell Sugar Ray Leonard what's
262
00:20:10.240 --> 00:20:17.759
going on? Cut right above his nose, above his nose. Yeah,
263
00:20:18.680 --> 00:20:24.640
gotta cauterise that. On the second time in his career,
264
00:20:27.359 --> 00:20:29.279
he did go down and then he got up immediately.
265
00:20:29.319 --> 00:20:31.440
He waited for the mandatory count from Rich steel.
266
00:20:31.599 --> 00:20:35.519
So it looks to catch the side of the head
267
00:20:35.599 --> 00:20:39.759
and down he goes. It looks to be.
268
00:20:41.279 --> 00:20:43.839
I think off the top of the head he was
269
00:20:43.960 --> 00:20:45.680
more more balanced than anything else.
270
00:20:49.799 --> 00:20:50.359
The inside.
271
00:20:50.400 --> 00:20:52.720
Yeah, right right on there. They got to cauterize that.
272
00:20:56.519 --> 00:20:57.519
I think he was more.
273
00:21:00.480 --> 00:21:03.839
Look at the last rag off the side of the head.
274
00:21:04.920 --> 00:21:05.880
This is round five.
275
00:21:06.079 --> 00:21:08.480
Round five begins Letter tasting.
276
00:21:08.279 --> 00:21:12.079
Blood for one of the very few times in his career.
277
00:21:12.400 --> 00:21:13.759
Scoring on your card.
278
00:21:14.000 --> 00:21:16.559
I gave that last round ten to nine to Donnie Lalan.
279
00:21:16.880 --> 00:21:18.880
I would have had a ten to eight except Letter
280
00:21:19.000 --> 00:21:21.000
came back before Thenckdown was.
281
00:21:21.000 --> 00:21:21.720
Doing pretty well.
282
00:21:22.039 --> 00:21:25.359
Okay, that's how I have it, also quite even at
283
00:21:25.440 --> 00:21:33.440
thirty eight thirty eight, two rounds of pace. Checking the
284
00:21:33.519 --> 00:21:39.519
score cards of ours scort Rider friends at ringside, Holly
285
00:21:39.640 --> 00:21:41.000
Max gave that a ten eight.
286
00:21:41.039 --> 00:21:45.240
Round and he's given the last tutor Lalan. Mike Carley
287
00:21:45.759 --> 00:21:50.920
scored that round four Lalan and has given Lalan the
288
00:21:51.000 --> 00:21:51.480
last two.
289
00:21:51.960 --> 00:21:54.480
And Gert Schugar scored the last two rounds for Lalan.
290
00:21:54.599 --> 00:21:55.680
He's given him the last two.
291
00:22:14.640 --> 00:22:14.920
Sugar.
292
00:22:15.039 --> 00:22:17.640
Ray Leonard fought only once in the last five years.
293
00:22:19.640 --> 00:22:29.319
He's in great shape though for this fight. At thirty
294
00:22:29.319 --> 00:22:35.359
two years of age, which in boxing now is like ancient.
295
00:22:36.960 --> 00:22:43.680
In tennis, it's ancient. A couple of left hooks from
296
00:22:43.759 --> 00:22:54.920
Laland are really reaching Sugar Ray Leonard. No, I don't
297
00:22:54.920 --> 00:22:58.359
think Sugar Ray Leonard Leonard underestimated Donnie Lalande, but I
298
00:22:58.440 --> 00:22:59.720
think at the same time, though I don't.
299
00:22:59.559 --> 00:23:00.160
Think he'd get.
300
00:23:01.559 --> 00:23:06.240
He'd get hitting the nose, a couple of jabs and
301
00:23:06.319 --> 00:23:19.279
he's busted open body punched till a land that time
302
00:23:19.319 --> 00:23:25.400
from Sugar Ray Leonard and Rich Steele has to break
303
00:23:25.440 --> 00:23:31.599
it up. Now, Sugar Ray Leonard is in his element.
304
00:23:34.359 --> 00:23:38.559
Thirty seconds left used both left and right.
305
00:23:41.839 --> 00:23:42.160
Leonard.
306
00:23:51.240 --> 00:23:53.519
While Lande was winning the beginning part of this round,
307
00:23:53.599 --> 00:24:01.319
Sugar Ray Leonard has one round five without question. All
308
00:24:01.359 --> 00:24:04.000
it takes is a couple more punches and the legs
309
00:24:04.039 --> 00:24:06.720
are gonna start getting rubbery for Donnie Lalande.
310
00:24:09.200 --> 00:24:23.920
Here's some action from round number five.
311
00:24:26.079 --> 00:24:31.680
Oh crushing rights. How does the Laland not get knocked
312
00:24:31.720 --> 00:24:36.160
out with those? My gosh, he was still stit ah
313
00:24:37.000 --> 00:24:39.839
who win brutal.
314
00:24:41.119 --> 00:24:45.119
The overhand right at least it was in his days
315
00:24:49.440 --> 00:24:50.960
and real solid action in there.
316
00:24:54.160 --> 00:24:54.559
Says he.
317
00:24:56.440 --> 00:24:57.680
Run sixte.
318
00:25:03.960 --> 00:25:15.599
Round six begins. I think on the outside and a
319
00:25:15.759 --> 00:25:18.200
left right there from Sugar Ray Leonard.
320
00:25:21.079 --> 00:25:25.680
Concentration drops that left hand. He's open to the right.
321
00:25:32.440 --> 00:25:32.720
Leonard.
322
00:25:33.559 --> 00:25:36.240
But I think.
323
00:25:39.359 --> 00:25:44.200
It well for shadowing with Stallone talking about this fight,
324
00:25:44.240 --> 00:25:46.720
because of course The Contender would be a reality show
325
00:25:47.039 --> 00:25:50.400
on NBC, and Sugar Ray Leonard was one of the
326
00:25:52.319 --> 00:25:57.079
uh producers and featured fighters on there. So I remember
327
00:25:57.119 --> 00:26:01.640
watching The Contender on NBC, much to my brother Nate's chagrin.
328
00:26:01.799 --> 00:26:03.480
You think he wanted to watch something else.
329
00:26:05.680 --> 00:26:06.079
Going on.
330
00:26:09.200 --> 00:26:12.160
Perfect He's not throwing him down the middle. They're coming
331
00:26:12.160 --> 00:26:15.039
down over the top, but coming from outside, but not
332
00:26:15.279 --> 00:26:15.880
down the middle.
333
00:26:37.599 --> 00:26:39.880
Rich Steele has been super busy in this fight.
334
00:26:41.400 --> 00:26:49.000
Traditions good.
335
00:26:50.599 --> 00:26:53.960
Edistan, don't forget.
336
00:26:54.039 --> 00:26:57.240
On Wednesday, August twenty six, will have the final edition
337
00:26:57.319 --> 00:27:01.119
of the playback in the month of August. Brett Saberhagen's
338
00:27:01.200 --> 00:27:04.720
No Hitter from nineteen ninety one, the Chicago White Sox
339
00:27:04.759 --> 00:27:06.880
took on the Kansas City Royals. It's the first time
340
00:27:06.920 --> 00:27:10.640
we've had the Royals on the playbacks.
341
00:27:26.519 --> 00:27:27.279
Very effective or.
342
00:27:33.680 --> 00:27:38.440
Thirty seconds left of round six, Well, Lon's got to
343
00:27:38.440 --> 00:27:44.680
get out of that corner. Another right from Sugar Ray
344
00:27:44.799 --> 00:27:47.640
Leonard right to Donnie Lawan's jaw.
345
00:27:50.880 --> 00:27:54.400
That happened to.
346
00:27:59.039 --> 00:28:00.400
Roy Leonard.
347
00:28:06.960 --> 00:28:10.319
That does it for round six and Sugar Ray Leonard
348
00:28:10.319 --> 00:28:11.279
has won that one though.
349
00:28:17.119 --> 00:28:19.960
Let's see that right hand by Donny Lalan. He came in,
350
00:28:20.119 --> 00:28:21.119
he fired the right hand.
351
00:28:21.160 --> 00:28:22.240
It was right before that.
352
00:28:22.720 --> 00:28:23.400
I believe that it was.
353
00:28:23.559 --> 00:28:25.880
He landed the right and Leonard was doing everything he
354
00:28:25.920 --> 00:28:28.400
could to stay close and take away the right hand
355
00:28:28.440 --> 00:28:28.880
of Milan.
356
00:28:31.440 --> 00:28:33.599
The left hand was a feeble kind of left hand.
357
00:28:33.759 --> 00:28:36.119
Leonard went over the head with the left, left himself
358
00:28:36.160 --> 00:28:38.319
open and the right got him. His knees went. He
359
00:28:38.680 --> 00:28:39.720
definitely was hurt.
360
00:28:45.200 --> 00:28:47.559
And here's Leonard finishing strong.
361
00:28:49.359 --> 00:28:54.079
Aside from that one shot by Sugar Ray Leonard or
362
00:28:54.160 --> 00:28:56.759
by Donny Laalan rather that right hand it really was
363
00:28:56.799 --> 00:28:57.960
a Sugar Ray Leonard ron He.
364
00:28:58.000 --> 00:28:58.839
Did it with his jack.
365
00:28:59.079 --> 00:28:59.759
He did it with a hand.
366
00:28:59.799 --> 00:29:02.799
It's a sold out Caesar's Paddlas in Las Vegas, Nevada.
367
00:29:02.880 --> 00:29:05.319
For this one, he came in November of eighty eight.
368
00:29:05.920 --> 00:29:08.440
This was after the election. Right George Bush and uh
369
00:29:09.519 --> 00:29:16.519
Mike Dukakis trying to put the pressure on. Round seven begins.
370
00:29:18.160 --> 00:29:19.759
Take them against the ropes.
371
00:29:22.200 --> 00:29:23.559
Leney bout of his feet.
372
00:29:23.680 --> 00:29:25.039
Trying to get all the leverage.
373
00:29:25.400 --> 00:29:27.640
It is one hundred sixty five or whatever. It is
374
00:29:27.880 --> 00:29:29.839
one hundred sixty two pound.
375
00:29:29.680 --> 00:29:33.000
By Leonard using his smarts to get off the ropes
376
00:29:33.000 --> 00:29:33.759
and out of trouble.
377
00:29:34.880 --> 00:29:37.119
There were reports today that Leonard, although he waited won
378
00:29:37.200 --> 00:29:38.640
sixty five, came in with.
379
00:29:38.720 --> 00:29:42.000
Some sand in some sandbags in his pants. He never
380
00:29:42.119 --> 00:29:44.240
did take those pants as it more than reports to
381
00:29:44.279 --> 00:29:44.839
have it on good.
382
00:29:45.319 --> 00:29:51.200
And he was doing it as a sipe measure to
383
00:29:51.240 --> 00:29:53.200
make Donnie seed. And he really was a big man.
384
00:29:53.519 --> 00:29:55.000
His trainer, Jackspart, he called me.
385
00:29:55.079 --> 00:29:56.400
He was one sixty two and a half.
386
00:30:00.039 --> 00:30:05.039
Official scores at ringside. Bally Matthews of news Day has
387
00:30:05.400 --> 00:30:08.880
Leonard ahead fifty seven fifty six. Mike Barley of the
388
00:30:08.960 --> 00:30:09.480
New York.
389
00:30:09.400 --> 00:30:12.480
Post has it even at fifty seven vert Sugar A
390
00:30:12.640 --> 00:30:16.240
ring magazine of Boxing Illustrated has it Leonard.
391
00:30:16.000 --> 00:30:18.839
Fifty seven, Lalan fifty five. I've got a fifty eight
392
00:30:18.839 --> 00:30:20.079
to fifty six for letters.
393
00:30:20.640 --> 00:30:23.880
So the lot fifty eight to fifty six two points sugar,
394
00:30:23.960 --> 00:30:24.480
Ray Leonard.
395
00:30:25.240 --> 00:30:26.480
Leonard keeps lending.
396
00:30:26.279 --> 00:30:32.279
That overhand, right, lad tight Leonard, and that would stomped
397
00:30:32.319 --> 00:30:33.440
on me where he was.
398
00:30:34.920 --> 00:30:37.000
Lan is shaking me backs off.
399
00:30:42.480 --> 00:30:44.480
The right hand has been.
400
00:30:44.400 --> 00:30:48.759
Extremely effected for Leonard, has Lalan trying.
401
00:30:48.559 --> 00:31:00.160
To measure Leonard again. The termination finishes with the right hand.
402
00:31:00.559 --> 00:31:01.839
Story for Sugar.
403
00:31:05.160 --> 00:31:09.000
Oh, another one.
404
00:31:10.799 --> 00:31:14.039
A mistake working it up here with that.
405
00:31:22.240 --> 00:31:25.440
Is always dangerous with that thunderous right hand.
406
00:31:33.359 --> 00:31:47.359
Thirty seconds left of round seven, and now now Donnie
407
00:31:47.440 --> 00:31:49.319
Lawan is starting to miss some of those punches on
408
00:31:49.400 --> 00:31:53.319
Sugar Ray Leonard and Sugar Ray Leonard more than happy
409
00:31:53.359 --> 00:32:11.079
to oblige with some combinations. Round seven comes to a close. Yep,
410
00:32:11.119 --> 00:32:23.440
Sugar Ray Leonard won that round for sure, all.
411
00:32:23.359 --> 00:32:28.519
Right enough, you couldn't be, you could be.
412
00:32:43.880 --> 00:32:46.319
Don't try to knock him out one right hand. You gotta.
413
00:32:55.200 --> 00:32:58.839
Comes September, it's gonna feel like knockout punches for yours truly.
414
00:32:58.960 --> 00:33:06.640
On the play back, round eight starts. There's thirty days
415
00:33:06.680 --> 00:33:08.920
in September, right, well, there's gonna be at least sixteen,
416
00:33:08.960 --> 00:33:12.279
if not seventeen editions of the playback here on the
417
00:33:12.319 --> 00:33:14.000
Pulse podcast network for September.
418
00:33:14.039 --> 00:33:14.680
We're gearing up.
419
00:33:14.720 --> 00:33:19.240
We got baseball, we got football, not to mention boxing
420
00:33:19.279 --> 00:33:26.799
and wrestling. I'm ready, I'm ready for it. I just
421
00:33:26.880 --> 00:33:31.720
got back from my vacation from Queens watching Mets games.
422
00:33:32.079 --> 00:33:34.960
They won three out of four. The first game was
423
00:33:35.039 --> 00:33:37.599
the Nationals and Mets. Mets won that game, and then
424
00:33:37.640 --> 00:33:39.799
they took two out of three from the San Diego
425
00:33:39.960 --> 00:33:43.759
Padres and had a fantastic time. First time that I
426
00:33:43.799 --> 00:33:49.519
ever been to City Field. I met the Mets, I
427
00:33:49.640 --> 00:33:54.279
met mister Mett, I met Missus, met Hi missus mett.
428
00:33:59.400 --> 00:33:59.599
Oh.
429
00:34:00.920 --> 00:34:03.240
That was a left right on the left side of
430
00:34:03.359 --> 00:34:17.039
Donnie Lalan's face from Sugar Ray Leonard. Point Lalan, he's
431
00:34:17.079 --> 00:34:20.239
gonna need another knockout of some kind now as trainers
432
00:34:20.280 --> 00:34:22.360
were telling him, don't do that knockout punch. Don't try
433
00:34:22.400 --> 00:34:24.559
to go for the knockout, and they're right. Don't go
434
00:34:24.719 --> 00:34:28.159
for the the the the sweet knockout punch that will
435
00:34:28.360 --> 00:34:31.079
end the fight. Try to just drink a combination of
436
00:34:31.159 --> 00:34:33.000
some kind that will kind of knock him down. Like
437
00:34:33.199 --> 00:34:34.280
in the previous round.
438
00:35:00.079 --> 00:35:03.000
About here Angela Dundee from his home in Miami, screaming,
439
00:35:03.400 --> 00:35:07.519
get off the rocks, kid, get off the rucks. Let's nose.
440
00:35:09.119 --> 00:35:20.360
Nowadays again another left hook from Sugar Ray Leonard has
441
00:35:20.400 --> 00:35:21.639
been one point smarting.
442
00:35:26.039 --> 00:35:28.519
Let me looking a little tired besides the back offer
443
00:35:28.599 --> 00:35:30.800
at least trying to sucker around this.
444
00:35:31.159 --> 00:35:32.760
Vinny Passian to try that last.
445
00:35:32.639 --> 00:35:36.239
Time thirty seconds to go in round eight as a
446
00:35:36.719 --> 00:35:37.880
or anybody.
447
00:35:37.400 --> 00:35:40.199
Else ever did it? He really looked tired and he
448
00:35:40.320 --> 00:35:41.440
sucker dotty right in.
449
00:35:44.719 --> 00:35:45.400
But who knows?
450
00:35:45.559 --> 00:35:48.719
This is a soft ring, a squishy ring, not good
451
00:35:48.880 --> 00:35:50.679
for a guy like Sugar Ray Leonard who likes to
452
00:35:50.880 --> 00:35:51.440
use the ring.
453
00:35:53.159 --> 00:35:55.719
He rode out a hard surface to bounce around on.
454
00:36:01.840 --> 00:36:05.559
Another left hook that ends the round. Round eight, Sugar
455
00:36:05.639 --> 00:36:08.199
Ray Leonard once again wins that round.
456
00:36:10.320 --> 00:36:15.960
Scary all the lady on the cut Jacks Morton talks
457
00:36:16.079 --> 00:36:17.079
him outside the ring.
458
00:36:22.000 --> 00:36:26.800
Shot early in the round, Donny Leman came in, got
459
00:36:26.840 --> 00:36:29.599
a right hand in, after a left hand, got another
460
00:36:29.719 --> 00:36:32.119
right hand, came bowling and tried a muscle.
461
00:36:32.159 --> 00:36:33.360
Sugar eight lettered the round, but.
462
00:36:33.599 --> 00:36:35.559
Let it push his head down and kept off bounce
463
00:36:36.159 --> 00:36:36.960
left hands here to.
464
00:36:37.000 --> 00:36:41.880
The looking on the replay, left.
465
00:36:44.000 --> 00:36:46.280
Stone with a view of what's going on?
466
00:36:46.480 --> 00:36:50.519
Right with Derek? Is this what you expected?
467
00:36:54.079 --> 00:36:54.199
Bo?
468
00:36:54.440 --> 00:36:59.000
Derek now talking to Roy Firestone is now I think
469
00:36:59.039 --> 00:36:59.280
he is?
470
00:36:59.400 --> 00:37:04.079
Yes, it is back to sign control I just gave
471
00:37:04.679 --> 00:37:06.679
I gave Leonard also for round eight.
472
00:37:07.079 --> 00:37:08.079
I've give him d.
473
00:37:10.239 --> 00:37:13.960
That's lovely. Round nine begins. You give Bo Derek at ten,
474
00:37:14.000 --> 00:37:16.000
and you give this fight at ten. It might not
475
00:37:16.079 --> 00:37:18.280
reach the tenth round, but it may reach the tenth round.
476
00:37:18.280 --> 00:37:20.719
Or in the ninth. So it's a twelve round bout.
477
00:37:20.840 --> 00:37:23.360
So underneath the right eye and.
478
00:37:28.920 --> 00:37:29.760
What a crew? Huh?
479
00:37:30.000 --> 00:37:35.519
Roy Firestone talking to Jesse the body of Ventura, Sylvester Stallone.
480
00:37:35.119 --> 00:37:37.480
And Bo Derek in that order.
481
00:37:37.800 --> 00:37:38.960
Boxing career.
482
00:37:41.679 --> 00:37:49.000
Good good left hook, dropped his right hand and Leonard.
483
00:37:48.760 --> 00:37:50.440
Got home to the head.
484
00:37:52.039 --> 00:38:12.599
Letter again.
485
00:38:16.800 --> 00:38:19.679
Now it's going the jam and.
486
00:38:23.119 --> 00:38:26.559
Get a game with ample combinations.
487
00:38:28.159 --> 00:38:31.119
Oh, I'm not.
488
00:38:31.239 --> 00:38:35.000
Holding Sugar Ray Leonard now taking the brunt of Donnie
489
00:38:35.039 --> 00:38:39.159
l Lan's combinations. The Golden Boy, he may go out
490
00:38:39.199 --> 00:38:45.199
for that knockout punch. He's got something here. He minute
491
00:38:45.239 --> 00:38:55.320
fifteen to go in round nine. Ar Now he's in
492
00:38:55.400 --> 00:39:04.480
a corner. Ah, Donnie Laland is down. The Golden Boy
493
00:39:04.679 --> 00:39:05.119
is down?
494
00:39:05.280 --> 00:39:05.719
Is he out?
495
00:39:21.280 --> 00:39:22.360
Now he's back in the corner.
496
00:39:22.440 --> 00:39:25.480
That's it. He's out. That just knocked him out. That's it.
497
00:39:27.039 --> 00:39:47.480
That's it, Sugar Ray Leonard wins. Laland is out cold.
498
00:40:01.840 --> 00:40:05.440
He wasn't bleaning the entire fight until those two knockout
499
00:40:05.480 --> 00:40:18.559
punches from Sugar Ray Leonard. Trainers are looking at him too.
500
00:40:18.679 --> 00:40:29.320
He is out. That's a t k oh.
501
00:40:29.440 --> 00:41:17.039
By the way, we got a new world's champion. So
502
00:41:17.239 --> 00:41:20.840
Sugar Ray Leonard wins the WBC Light Heavyweight and then
503
00:41:21.239 --> 00:41:25.159
the inaugural super middleweight titles. Five different weight classes for
504
00:41:25.239 --> 00:41:29.360
Sugar Ray Leonard, legend, Hall of Famer. That this is
505
00:41:29.559 --> 00:41:39.840
just a masterclass in this round nine Sugar Ray, Donnie
506
00:41:39.920 --> 00:41:42.199
l lan didn't know where he is after a couple
507
00:41:42.280 --> 00:41:47.320
of those punches right there, the Golden Boy, those combinations
508
00:41:47.360 --> 00:41:54.559
and those hard right hands just absolutely devastating Donnie Lalande.
509
00:41:59.480 --> 00:41:59.639
Time.
510
00:42:02.719 --> 00:42:09.280
Both are orthodox boxers, by the way, so all it
511
00:42:09.360 --> 00:42:16.039
takes is one more punch right there. Done, Donnie is done.
512
00:42:19.199 --> 00:42:19.480
Wow.
513
00:42:19.719 --> 00:42:21.880
What a performance by Sugar Ray Leonard.
514
00:42:22.360 --> 00:42:23.119
And that does it.
515
00:42:23.320 --> 00:42:27.000

00:44:17.880 --> 00:44:20.599
As we are nearing football season, I mean college football
547
00:44:20.679 --> 00:44:23.880
season Week zero begins this week, and then we've got
548
00:44:23.920 --> 00:44:28.079
the NFL shortly thereafter, and then we are full gear
549
00:44:28.440 --> 00:44:33.119
with football, high school football, college football, pro football, football,
550
00:44:33.159 --> 00:44:36.000
football football. It's all coming towards your way in the
551
00:44:36.079 --> 00:44:39.480
month of September. We've got another edition of Jay Dogs

00:44:39.519 --> 00:44:41.840
Boxing Bout of the Month coming to you in September.
553
00:44:42.119 --> 00:44:47.239
The poll will be coming on Wednesday, September first, and
554
00:44:48.119 --> 00:44:53.840
whether Tuesday, excuse me, Tuesday September first. Tuesday September first,
555
00:44:54.000 --> 00:44:57.880
Jay Dog's Boxing Bout of the Month Boxing Poll. We'll
556
00:44:57.880 --> 00:45:00.440
have four matches there you'll be able to pick. You'll
557
00:45:00.480 --> 00:45:02.559
have about a week to do that. We'll have that
558
00:45:02.679 --> 00:45:06.719
sometime in September, as well as Jaydoc's Wrestling Match of
559
00:45:06.800 --> 00:45:10.400
the Month poll, which will be on September third. That
560
00:45:10.480 --> 00:45:13.760
will be on a Thursday, and I think that's the
561
00:45:15.239 --> 00:45:17.400
I will have something on the play right, I will
562
00:45:17.440 --> 00:45:18.840
have something on the playback.
563
00:45:18.480 --> 00:45:18.880
There for you.
564
00:45:19.000 --> 00:45:22.559
I think that's Bud Smith's no hitter, Bud Smith of
565
00:45:22.599 --> 00:45:25.400
the Saint Louis Cardinals taking on the San Diego Padres.
566
00:45:25.440 --> 00:45:25.679
Again.
567
00:45:25.679 --> 00:45:27.440
We got a lot, so much going on. I'm looking
568
00:45:27.440 --> 00:45:30.119
at my schedule right now and I have stuff filled
569
00:45:30.199 --> 00:45:33.480
out all through September. So it's gonna be nuts, it's
570
00:45:33.559 --> 00:45:36.000
gonna be insane, but I know that's what you want,
571
00:45:36.400 --> 00:45:39.800
that's what I want, because, let's face it, sports never stops,
572
00:45:40.000 --> 00:45:42.159
especially in the month of September when we've got some
573
00:45:42.280 --> 00:45:46.639
classics going on for Sunday Night football. We've got stuff
574
00:45:46.719 --> 00:45:53.519
going on in baseball and also wrestling, boxing, boxing, wrestling.
575
00:45:53.599 --> 00:45:56.760
It's all there, it's all good. The playback here on
576
00:45:56.840 --> 00:46:00.360
the Pulse Podcast Network. Don't forget to listen to, forget
577
00:46:00.400 --> 00:46:03.519
to download, don't forget to let your friends know. Bet
578
00:46:03.599 --> 00:46:07.400
this peon X, bet this pod on Instagram, and I'm
579
00:46:07.440 --> 00:46:11.440
coming back to you later this week for Brett Saberhagen's
580
00:46:11.559 --> 00:46:14.119
no hitter the Kansas City Royals, that's the team he
581
00:46:14.239 --> 00:46:17.679
was playing for, taking on the Chicago White Sox. And
582
00:46:17.760 --> 00:46:20.119
then come September, it's gonna be
583
00:46:20.480 --> 00:46:24.800
Nuts if you've been listening to the playback on the
584
00:46:25.039 --> 00:46:26.760
Pulse podcast network,
