What does global missions look like when the whole church sees itself as part of the mission? Fresh off Millington Baptist Church’s Missions Conference, Pastor Bob sits down with WorldVenture President Jeff Denlinger and Vice President David Love to talk about the changing landscape of global missions, reaching unreached peoples, and why the local church remains central to sending and supporting missionaries.
They also explore WorldVenture’s 360 approach to ministry, how Christians can use their professions and skills for the sake of the gospel, why younger missionaries are increasingly drawn to hard places, and what mission organizations may need to rethink for the next generation. Plus, Tim and Bob recap the conference, reveal a record-setting week in the Great Book War, and preview the return to Ezekiel next week.

00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:04.400
The Fresh Wave is back with a new season, a new compost, and a fresh approach.
00:00:04.400 --> 00:00:17.519
Johnny is joined by Annabelle as they take Millington Baptist Church's team podcast in a deeper direction, asking bigger questions, looking beyond surface level answers, and thinking carefully about the things that shape everyday life and faith.
00:00:17.519 --> 00:00:23.839
New episodes release every week with shorter, produced episodes building towards a longer conversation at the end of the month.
00:00:23.839 --> 00:00:25.600
And we're starting off with friendships.
00:00:25.600 --> 00:00:27.120
What actually makes a good friendship?
00:00:27.120 --> 00:00:28.480
Are all friendships the same?
00:00:28.480 --> 00:00:32.479
And what can our relationship with other people teach us about our relationship with God?
00:00:32.479 --> 00:00:37.200
So if you're a teen or have a teen in your life, this is a series you'll want to follow.
00:00:37.200 --> 00:00:46.079
So check out new episodes of The Fresh Wave each week on the NBC Unhindered YouTube channel, the Rush NJ Instagram page, and wherever you find your podcasts.
00:00:46.240 --> 00:01:08.799
And join us as we learn to think deeper about the things that matter, welcome to Behind the Pulpit for uh October the 6th, 2026.
00:01:08.799 --> 00:01:10.400
We're so glad you're joining us today.
00:01:10.400 --> 00:01:13.439
We're gonna have a bit of an abbreviated version today.
00:01:13.439 --> 00:01:15.519
Um, just me and Tim right here.
00:01:15.519 --> 00:01:18.640
We're gonna do a little recap on our missions conference from the last week.
00:01:18.640 --> 00:01:29.680
And then I did an extended interview with uh Jeff Denlinger and uh David Love from World Venture, who were two our two keynote speakers from this last weekend and also preached on Sunday.
00:01:29.680 --> 00:01:35.519
So hopefully you enjoyed their bringing God's word uh to you this past week.
00:01:35.519 --> 00:01:39.120
Um but the missions conference itself was was very fruitful.
00:01:39.120 --> 00:01:42.400
Um I was really pleased with those that came out.
00:01:42.400 --> 00:01:47.040
The food was delicious, um, lots of really great conversations and stories.
00:01:47.040 --> 00:01:57.280
We also had um uh presentations from a number of our world partners, uh both locally, and then uh Bo Columbine, who's from Senegal, uh John White in Ukraine.
00:01:57.280 --> 00:02:05.040
We also got to watch his uh Ukrainian uh uh documentary that one of his colleagues put together, and it was uh very moving.
00:02:05.040 --> 00:02:06.959
Lots of good questions after that.
00:02:06.959 --> 00:02:10.080
Thank you to everybody who helped uh put that together.
00:02:10.080 --> 00:02:14.800
It was uh a wonderful weekend, and I even got questions on whether we can do it, we can do it again.
00:02:14.800 --> 00:02:17.439
So we're gonna have to look into that.
00:02:17.439 --> 00:02:25.199
Um so Tim, since you're joining me, what what were some of your uh your highlights and takeaways from the last weekend?
00:02:25.680 --> 00:02:26.800
Yeah, what's up, everybody?
00:02:26.800 --> 00:02:27.919
Got a camera this time.
00:02:27.919 --> 00:02:30.639
Um there he is, we're in his devil's jersey.
00:02:30.639 --> 00:02:31.840
Big game today.
00:02:31.840 --> 00:02:34.400
Uh yeah, I just think the whole thing was cool.
00:02:34.400 --> 00:02:49.599
Um, you know, obviously we have um what we do world partner interviews on Sundays um every once in a while, where it's cool that we get to see um world partners come in, we get to hear from them, and they get to you know share a little bit about what's going on.
00:02:49.599 --> 00:02:53.840
But it was cool to have multiple different world partners all together.
00:02:53.840 --> 00:02:56.479
Uh, I told this to Pastor Bob and a couple of other people.
00:02:56.479 --> 00:02:58.960
It's like we're obviously here at Millington Baptist Church.
00:02:58.960 --> 00:03:04.400
This is our local church body, but these world partners are also part of our church body as well.
00:03:04.400 --> 00:03:12.400
But it was so the event kind of felt like you're having the cousins over for like a like a holiday party, and you're gonna you know you're gonna get to hear from them.
00:03:12.400 --> 00:03:19.759
Um yeah, I always love hearing um from got to hear from the Stasios, which are great.
00:03:19.759 --> 00:03:26.719
I got to spend a lot of time um with Bo and Michelle Columbine, uh, which is cool because you know I'm planning on going out to Senegal.
00:03:26.719 --> 00:03:28.800
So Bo and I clicked pretty pretty quickly.
00:03:28.800 --> 00:03:32.240
Him and I seem to be kind of cut from the same cloth with a lot of things.
00:03:32.240 --> 00:03:33.360
He's a he's a he's a cool guy.
00:03:33.360 --> 00:03:38.960
But yeah, I just meeting everyone and um he did he tell you people always ask if he looks like Russell Crowe.
00:03:38.960 --> 00:03:45.599
He did not, but he within I had been talking to him for five minutes, maybe not even on Friday night.
00:03:45.599 --> 00:03:50.800
I had just met him, and he looks at me, he goes, You know, I bet I could take you down.
00:03:50.800 --> 00:03:54.400
I was like, uh, I bet you could.
00:03:54.400 --> 00:04:10.080
And then have a Senegalese cage match right there in just uh Yeah, and then he told me of this the story on Sunday that he got into some wrestling match with a professional wrestler who was like half his age or something in in Senegal, and and he took him down in three seconds.
00:04:10.080 --> 00:04:10.879
So yeah.
00:04:10.879 --> 00:04:12.159
But yeah, overall it was great.
00:04:12.159 --> 00:04:13.199
Really enjoyed the event.
00:04:13.199 --> 00:04:16.319
I I am an advocate for doing it uh consistently.
00:04:16.639 --> 00:04:17.519
Well, there we go.
00:04:17.519 --> 00:04:20.160
And uh uh, you know, you put out some good pictures.
00:04:20.160 --> 00:04:23.040
I'm sure there's more that'll uh that'll go somewhere.
00:04:23.040 --> 00:04:25.199
So thanks for all the work that you put into it.
00:04:25.199 --> 00:04:34.720
And uh and also there was there was an unveiling of our 2027 contend conference uh trailer, which will be coming up this coming Sunday.
00:04:34.720 --> 00:04:37.600
Those of you that missed it will uh we'll get the preview.
00:04:37.600 --> 00:04:46.399
Um so uh what we'd like to do now is I did spend about I think it was about 25 minutes uh talking with Jeff and David.
00:04:46.399 --> 00:04:48.800
So I think we're gonna switch over to that now.
00:04:48.800 --> 00:04:51.920
Maybe Tim will have a little ad spot before we get there.
00:04:51.920 --> 00:04:52.800
There will be an ad.
00:04:52.800 --> 00:04:54.959
Um so that's that's coming up in just a minute.
00:04:54.959 --> 00:04:55.759
So check that out.
00:04:55.759 --> 00:05:01.439
It was a really good conversation, and then we'll come back uh for uh the results of last week's book war.
00:05:01.439 --> 00:05:06.079
So indeed, don't don't click ahead, watch the video, then come back and uh and get the results.
00:05:06.319 --> 00:05:11.680
How can the church welcome, care for, and disciple individuals and families affected by disability?
00:05:11.680 --> 00:05:19.279
On Saturday, October 17th, Millington Baptist Church is hosting a regional disability training event in partnership with Johnny and Friends.
00:05:19.279 --> 00:05:29.199
The morning will be led by Sarah Bush, regional coordinator with Johnny and Friends, and will offer practical gospel-centered training to help us grow in confidence, awareness, and compassion.
00:05:29.199 --> 00:05:33.120
You don't need to be an expert or already serve in disability ministry to attend.
00:05:33.120 --> 00:05:40.319
This event is for anyone who wants to better understand how to welcome and support people with disabilities and their families in the life of the church.
00:05:40.319 --> 00:05:42.959
The training runs from 8 30 to 11 30 a.m.
00:05:42.959 --> 00:05:46.240
Breakfast is included, and the event is completely free.
00:05:46.240 --> 00:05:49.199
Visit the NBC website to register and learn more.
00:05:49.199 --> 00:05:57.120
And come ready to learn how we can make the church a place where every person is welcomed, valued, and encouraged to grow as a disciple of Jesus.
00:05:57.920 --> 00:06:02.639
Well, hey everybody, welcome to uh the sermon portion behind the pulpit.
00:06:02.639 --> 00:06:05.680
Hopefully you've seen Pastor Dave and I uh chatting for a few minutes.
00:06:05.680 --> 00:06:19.199
Uh, we have some special guests today, because if you were with us uh yesterday or a couple days ago, depending on when you're watching this, uh, you know we had a missions conference this weekend, um, our 175th missions conference where we highlighted all things global missions.
00:06:19.199 --> 00:06:27.519
Uh, we got to hear from world partners like John White and Bo Columbine and some local partners like Mark Stacio and Ernie Scalabrin, uh Amoon Sharon.
00:06:27.519 --> 00:06:35.759
But we were really privileged to have uh some folks from uh World Venture, which is uh one of our main mission agencies here, both the president and vice president.
00:06:35.759 --> 00:06:37.759
So I felt very, very honored.
00:06:37.759 --> 00:06:40.079
And they're they're actually here with us in studio.
00:06:40.079 --> 00:06:45.839
I thought we continue the conversation for a few minutes um and add this into those of you that are watching behind the pulpit.
00:06:45.839 --> 00:06:48.240
So, Jeff and David, we're so glad that you're here today.
00:06:48.240 --> 00:06:51.360
Thanks for giving us a few minutes before you you hop on a jet plane.
00:06:51.600 --> 00:06:52.319
Yeah, thank you.
00:06:52.319 --> 00:06:52.959
Thank you very much.
00:06:53.279 --> 00:07:03.839
So I thought maybe um to start off for those people that aren't familiar with you, maybe share a little bit about yourself, and then uh secondly, after you share about yourselves, tell us about World Venture.
00:07:03.839 --> 00:07:04.959
Uh, what is it?
00:07:04.959 --> 00:07:06.399
How did it start?
00:07:06.399 --> 00:07:10.000
Um, why is it the best mission missing agency in the world?
00:07:11.519 --> 00:07:11.839
Okay.
00:07:11.839 --> 00:07:12.800
Sounds good.
00:07:12.800 --> 00:07:13.360
Go ahead.
00:07:13.360 --> 00:07:24.639
Well, uh, my name is Jeff, uh Jeff Denlinger, uh originally from South Jersey, so it's kind of fun to be back in northern Jersey, uh reconnecting with my Jersey roots, so to speak.
00:07:24.639 --> 00:07:30.399
Uh I grew up in the South Jersey area, Christian home, uh actually very strong Christian heritage.
00:07:30.399 --> 00:07:40.560
Uh my parents, my grandparents, my great-grandparents, so just very privileged in that sense of having great um faith models to follow.
00:07:40.560 --> 00:07:43.040
Uh met my wife and seminary.
00:07:43.040 --> 00:07:44.800
She grew up as a missionary kid.
00:07:44.800 --> 00:07:45.759
Her name's Christine.
00:07:45.759 --> 00:07:48.399
Her parents are missionaries in Central America.
00:07:48.399 --> 00:07:51.120
Um she's totally fluent in Spanish.
00:07:51.120 --> 00:07:54.800
I had to go through language school, it wasn't fair, but that's the way life goes.
00:07:54.800 --> 00:08:06.560
Uh anyway, we're married uh 40 plus years now, uh two adult kids, five grandkids, and um yeah, what else about me?
00:08:06.560 --> 00:08:15.040
Um I'm a few months away from retiring from World Ventures, so World Ventures in an active search process, uh, which to me is very exciting.
00:08:15.040 --> 00:08:21.279
Uh pass the baton to the next uh run uh leader to run the next portion of the race.
00:08:21.279 --> 00:08:23.439
Uh so that's enough about me.
00:08:24.000 --> 00:08:29.279
Yeah, so um David and Catherine Love, we've been with World Venture for 25 years now.
00:08:29.279 --> 00:08:30.720
We both grew up in Oregon.
00:08:30.720 --> 00:08:39.120
We actually grew up about 20 minutes away from each other, but we didn't meet until we moved to Portland, Oregon, independent of each other to go to university.
00:08:39.120 --> 00:08:48.559
And so we've been married for 38 years now, and we have two daughters who are married to godly men, and we have three grandchildren.
00:08:48.559 --> 00:08:51.440
Uh as I said, we've been with World Venture for 25 years.
00:08:51.440 --> 00:08:57.279
I also had a tenure career in accounting because I studied business administration and accounting.
00:08:57.279 --> 00:09:06.960
And so uh before I got into missions full-time, I worked as an accountant, a CPA, a controller for a small Christian college, and so I have that in my background as well.
00:09:07.519 --> 00:09:11.440
Did that provide any uh preparation for missions work?
00:09:11.440 --> 00:09:17.360
Uh, you know, you had to really evangelize those uh people that were stealing on their taxes or things like that.
00:09:19.039 --> 00:09:30.240
Uh not in that uh framework, but uh actually no, it has been very beneficial for me having that career in accounting before I went into what you would consider more traditional missions.
00:09:30.240 --> 00:09:36.879
And uh I've used what I've learned as a CPA and and accounting, I've uh used it multiple times.
00:09:36.879 --> 00:09:43.759
And in fact, uh a lot of the work that we're doing nowadays around the world is related to business as mission.
00:09:43.759 --> 00:09:53.679
And so having that background in accounting, having consulted with uh businesses and business owners over the years has really been beneficial for me in the ministry that I've been involved in.
00:09:54.080 --> 00:09:54.720
Oh, well, that's great.
00:09:54.720 --> 00:10:01.360
Well, I'd love to come back to that uh business as missions uh discussion in just a minute, but I I want to ask Jeff kind of kind of a fun question here.
00:10:01.360 --> 00:10:04.320
So, Jeff, you mentioned you talk about South Jersey, North Jersey.
00:10:04.320 --> 00:10:07.440
Is it true that you subscribe to the two Jersey framework?
00:10:07.440 --> 00:10:12.480
You were you were you were holding on to pork roll and tail or ham, but that's another big debate out here.
00:10:12.879 --> 00:10:13.200
Yeah, yeah.
00:10:13.200 --> 00:10:19.679
So when I grew up, it was South Jersey, near Cherry Hill, that area, anything north of Trenton felt like New York City.
00:10:19.679 --> 00:10:20.080
Okay.
00:10:20.080 --> 00:10:21.679
So I do hold to those two.
00:10:21.679 --> 00:10:29.440
Now I do realize Central Jersey people want to stake their territory, but I don't think they're recognized by either North or South.
00:10:29.519 --> 00:10:31.679
So I just watched a video about that the other day.
00:10:31.679 --> 00:10:33.200
I should share this YouTube channel with you.
00:10:33.200 --> 00:10:36.399
But uh I defin I definitely uh identify with Central Jersey.
00:10:36.399 --> 00:10:39.120
So I grew up in Mammoth County and now I've been over here for a while.
00:10:39.120 --> 00:10:41.120
But anyway, that's that's beside the point.
00:10:41.120 --> 00:10:42.799
Everybody needs Jesus in New Jersey.
00:10:42.799 --> 00:10:43.440
That's right.
00:10:43.440 --> 00:10:48.320
All right, so uh regarding world venture, uh maybe let me ask it this way.
00:10:48.320 --> 00:10:55.440
Could if somebody asked you to describe world venture in um a sentence, how how would you describe world venture?
00:10:55.440 --> 00:10:58.559
Let's start there and then maybe you can you can build out from that.
00:10:59.759 --> 00:11:06.720
Well, we're a nonprofit mission agency that sends workers to make disciples of Jesus in all kinds of contexts.
00:11:06.960 --> 00:11:08.559
Now you're sounding like the accountant when you say it.
00:11:08.559 --> 00:11:09.519
Is that right?
00:11:09.519 --> 00:11:12.879
But that's very clear, yes.
00:11:13.600 --> 00:11:14.799
So that's a short sentence.
00:11:14.799 --> 00:11:15.200
Yeah.
00:11:15.200 --> 00:11:15.440
Yeah.
00:11:15.600 --> 00:11:16.080
There you go.
00:11:16.080 --> 00:11:16.799
Yeah.
00:11:16.799 --> 00:11:22.480
I would say we're a body of believers who are committed to taking the gospel to the ends of the earth.
00:11:22.960 --> 00:11:23.279
Okay.
00:11:23.279 --> 00:11:24.320
Very good.
00:11:24.320 --> 00:11:26.240
So now say more about World Venture.
00:11:26.240 --> 00:11:27.120
What is it that you do?
00:11:27.120 --> 00:11:31.759
How are you different than maybe another mission agency that people know about?
00:11:31.759 --> 00:11:33.919
What's what's exciting at World Venture?
00:11:36.080 --> 00:11:58.320
Well, I think one of the things that a lot of people don't realize about World Venture is that even though we've been around for 80 years and we've really been known for our church planting and leadership development, uh theological education, we actually are a very innovative mission agency, and uh a significant number of our workers are working among the unreached.
00:11:58.320 --> 00:12:04.000
And I think that uh a lot of times that kind of gets missed in the other things that we're doing really well.
00:12:05.840 --> 00:12:08.720
Yeah, I think another unique factor, right?
00:12:08.720 --> 00:12:12.480
So every agency does very similar work making disciples of Jesus.
00:12:12.480 --> 00:12:19.679
For us, our founding coming uh as a as a missional movement, if you will, that's theologically grounded.
00:12:19.679 --> 00:12:21.759
So theology is a big deal to us.
00:12:21.759 --> 00:12:26.080
Now it's true for many others, but for us it's a baptistic theology.
00:12:26.080 --> 00:12:30.320
Um we're not a Presbyterian or you know, Methodist or anything like that.
00:12:30.320 --> 00:12:31.759
We're not against that.
00:12:31.759 --> 00:12:39.919
We partner with a lot of different groups, but that that theological founding is a core piece of our identity as a group.
00:12:39.919 --> 00:12:51.440
So as we partner with churches around the world, particularly church associations, uh that that theological foundation is a common thread that knits us together.
00:12:51.440 --> 00:12:55.519
Um so that's a that's another significant piece of our journey.
00:12:55.519 --> 00:13:03.120
Um though that said, the uh theological training that's required for for missionaries varies.
00:13:03.120 --> 00:13:09.200
So if you're gonna be a Bible translator, you pretty much have to know Greek and Hebrew and all of that good stuff, right?
00:13:09.200 --> 00:13:13.679
If you're and that's not to say that's more important, it's just a different uh preparation track.
00:13:13.679 --> 00:13:13.919
Yeah.
00:13:13.919 --> 00:13:33.360
If you're working with street kids in Sao Paulo, Brazil, you probably don't need all the Greek and Hebrew, but you probably need to have a clear understanding of some of the urban dynamics or social uh like um you know how what are the systems these kids are living in in addition to sharing the gospel and being able to play soccer.
00:13:33.679 --> 00:13:33.919
Yeah.
00:13:33.919 --> 00:13:38.480
So being able to contextualize that theology to that ministry that you're into, definitely.
00:13:38.879 --> 00:13:38.960
Right.
00:13:38.960 --> 00:13:39.360
Yeah.
00:13:39.360 --> 00:13:58.000
I think another distinctive for us is that um we really believe in partnering with the church, whether that's the sending churches here in America or the local church if it exists in a place, but we also believe in places where there isn't a local church in establishing the church.
00:13:58.000 --> 00:14:05.600
And so that's a very important part for us that uh we're not just an organization that's focused on evangelism only.
00:14:05.600 --> 00:14:11.279
We want to see the church established around the world because we do believe that it is the body of Christ.
00:14:11.279 --> 00:14:18.080
We do believe that uh it is what Jesus is using in the world uh to establish his kingdom.
00:14:18.480 --> 00:14:18.799
Yeah.
00:14:18.799 --> 00:14:30.639
Now you talked, you you specifically talked yesterday about your kind of your what you call your 360 framework, this idea of businesses, missions, but not just bit but not just business, uh all these different sectors.
00:14:30.639 --> 00:14:34.159
Can you say just kind of capture that pretty quickly for people that might have missed your talk?
00:14:34.159 --> 00:14:36.960
And why is that is that unique to you guys?
00:14:36.960 --> 00:14:39.360
Well, it's not really unique to us, honestly.
00:14:39.360 --> 00:14:41.840
But maybe you have you popularized it better than others?
00:14:42.159 --> 00:14:47.200
Well, I I think that uh we've enculturated it as an organization.
00:14:47.200 --> 00:14:47.519
Okay.
00:14:47.519 --> 00:14:48.159
That's a good word.
00:14:48.159 --> 00:14:52.559
So there's lots and lots of organizations that do 360 ministry.
00:14:52.559 --> 00:15:03.679
So uh we send out people who are from business backgrounds, engineering backgrounds, people who are attorneys and artists, and a wide variety of people, ethnomusicology.
00:15:03.679 --> 00:15:06.159
And we recognize that's a big word.
00:15:06.159 --> 00:15:07.440
Jesus musicology.
00:15:07.440 --> 00:15:08.799
That's a great missions word.
00:15:08.799 --> 00:15:09.039
Yeah, I think it's a good idea.
00:15:09.039 --> 00:15:25.519
Uh and so we believe in sending out a variety of people because each person's unique gifting and ability, training and background gives them unique ways to be able to reach people on the field.
00:15:25.519 --> 00:15:34.879
And so we really do believe in what we call contextualized disciple making, where World Venture doesn't tell our workers how to do ministry on the field.
00:15:34.879 --> 00:15:46.559
We expect them to learn the language, we expect them to learn the culture, uh, and to be able to contextualize what they know in a way that people can understand locally.
00:15:47.279 --> 00:15:48.720
Let me give a good example of that.
00:15:48.720 --> 00:15:49.279
Please.
00:15:49.279 --> 00:15:55.200
Years ago in one of our trainings uh that I went through, it haunt this question haunted me for years.
00:15:55.200 --> 00:15:57.919
We Christine and I were church planners in Caracas.
00:15:57.919 --> 00:16:01.759
We had a well-known um seminary type guy.
00:16:01.759 --> 00:16:07.759
At one of our trainings, he said, What makes the good news good news to the people you're trying to reach?
00:16:07.759 --> 00:16:11.120
And if it takes you more than 13 words, you're guessing.
00:16:11.120 --> 00:16:23.360
And it made me realize uh this idea of contextualizing um Paul's approach uh in the New Testament to Jewish communities was very different than when he went to Athens.
00:16:23.360 --> 00:16:24.320
Why?
00:16:24.320 --> 00:16:27.519
Because they needed to hear the gospel in ways that they could engage.
00:16:27.519 --> 00:16:36.000
So the same challenges for us, but it'd be really easy to translate and rip replicate, but that's not contextual, right?
00:16:36.000 --> 00:16:37.120
It's just a translation.
00:16:37.120 --> 00:16:44.000
So what makes the good news really good news of the gospel to the different peoples that we work with?
00:16:44.399 --> 00:16:44.720
Yeah.
00:16:44.720 --> 00:16:45.600
That's great.
00:16:45.600 --> 00:16:48.399
So uh your your both your examples.
00:16:48.399 --> 00:16:56.320
Um you you kind of went around the room yesterday and you were asking people to uh stump you, I think, about these different areas and what people were doing.
00:16:56.320 --> 00:17:00.240
Give me some examples about different sectors that people are working in.
00:17:00.240 --> 00:17:13.119
Um I don't want to say missionaries under the guise of being a business person, but but they're using that as a touch point to get into a culture and then uh for of course wanting to share Jesus with people.
00:17:13.119 --> 00:17:15.519
But what are some examples of how that's playing out?
00:17:16.960 --> 00:17:32.799
Well, uh one of the things that I've really noticed is that over the last 20, 25 years, as we've encouraged people to be innovative in regard to 360, recognizing that uh they can do a wide variety of things to develop relationships with people.
00:17:32.799 --> 00:17:40.079
And so even if it's just a part-time kind of role that people are doing, uh people are actually involved in this.
00:17:40.079 --> 00:17:51.519
And so we've had artists who have written Christian poetry in different countries and and worked with other Christian artists to be able to express the gospel through art.
00:17:51.519 --> 00:18:08.880
Um, we've had attorneys who have been involved in anti-sex trafficking laws at the governmental level in a country, and so some things like that where people are able to use their background uh even beyond just business's mission uh in a broad gathering.
00:18:09.200 --> 00:18:15.200
So using their background to bring in the kingdom of God as well as sharing about the salvation through Jesus.
00:18:15.680 --> 00:18:21.359
Right, because every person has a unique sphere of influence, right?
00:18:21.359 --> 00:18:32.880
And so if if you're an accountant, you're interacting with accountants and business people on a daily basis that a pastor like yourself uh doesn't get to do necessarily Monday through Friday, right?
00:18:32.880 --> 00:18:42.720
And so we recognize that every single person is relating with different people in a community, and that's really valuable for the sake of the gospel.
00:18:43.119 --> 00:18:43.680
Yeah, yeah.
00:18:43.920 --> 00:18:57.920
Yeah, I would just add to that is uh uh undergirding this whole thing of a 360, which simply is a 360 circle with different components that represents the whole uh sphere of life and society.
00:18:57.920 --> 00:19:01.359
Um underlying that whole thing is integrity.
00:19:01.359 --> 00:19:02.079
Right.
00:19:02.079 --> 00:19:12.640
So a teacher in a public school has uh the teaching credentials to be there, but when they bring their faith in Jesus into that environment, they are who they are.
00:19:12.640 --> 00:19:17.519
And so we're not looking for platforms to somehow trick the government to give us a visa.
00:19:17.519 --> 00:19:21.359
No, we're Christians who have these professional skills.
00:19:21.359 --> 00:19:35.599
Now that's a slight variation from how traditional missions have operated the last hundred plus years, where we're looking for full-time, if you will, Christian workers, and the work isn't my teaching, it's my ability to share the gospel.
00:19:35.599 --> 00:19:42.319
So it's really this recapturing, if you will, the whole body of Christ has opportunity to be engaged in mission.
00:19:42.319 --> 00:19:46.400
Yeah, using the skills, the education, the professional degrees that they have.
00:19:46.400 --> 00:19:55.599
And when you operate with that integrity, there's no separation from my professional life and my spiritual life, and that is wedded together.
00:19:55.599 --> 00:19:57.599
It's a powerful witness for people.
00:19:57.599 --> 00:19:58.640
That's really cool.
00:19:59.039 --> 00:20:05.200
To me, that sounds like whether you choose to do that overseas or whether you choose to do that locally, the framework is similar, right?
00:20:05.440 --> 00:20:05.680
That's right.
00:20:05.680 --> 00:20:14.640
Yeah, you know, and honestly, from our perspective, churches that practice that kind of a discipleship are the easiest churches to find new recruits in.
00:20:14.640 --> 00:20:18.000
Uh right, because it's already part of their DNA of their thinking.
00:20:18.000 --> 00:20:24.400
So it's not a platform to hide, it's a it's an entree into a a sphere.
00:20:24.799 --> 00:20:25.039
Yeah.
00:20:25.039 --> 00:20:26.960
Well, why don't we stick with that for a second?
00:20:26.960 --> 00:20:34.160
Because my next question was going to be um where do you see uh kind of the momentum in missions right now?
00:20:34.160 --> 00:20:36.480
And and I'll uh just add a story to that.
00:20:36.480 --> 00:20:44.160
Uh back in January when I was there for the board meeting, you guys were uh training, uh preparing people to go out on the field.
00:20:44.160 --> 00:20:47.839
And as part of the board meeting, you had how how many, how many did you send out?
00:20:48.000 --> 00:20:49.039
Uh that was about twenty.
00:20:49.039 --> 00:20:49.839
Twenty, twenty.
00:20:50.160 --> 00:20:56.880
And everybody came in and shared their story of how they're they came to Jesus and then how God called them at a mission.
00:20:56.880 --> 00:20:59.519
And there was some really powerful stories in there.
00:20:59.519 --> 00:21:02.319
Um I was I left super encouraged.
00:21:02.319 --> 00:21:04.960
Um where do you see this momentum?
00:21:04.960 --> 00:21:08.240
Like what we're what are what are what's pulling people into missions right now?
00:21:09.599 --> 00:21:21.440
Surprisingly, the younger generation, people in their 20s, college graduates, um they they're kind of getting a bad rap right in American society right now.
00:21:21.440 --> 00:21:33.839
And what we're finding though is that a number of them are very passionate about taking the gospel to the ends of the earth, to frontier missions work, to very difficult places.
00:21:33.839 --> 00:21:41.359
They're willing to sacrifice to go to hard places that perhaps people haven't been willing to go to in the past.
00:21:41.359 --> 00:21:54.640
And to me, that is a really encouraging but also surprising phenomenon that we're experiencing about how many people really want to go to hard places and do are willing to do hard things for the sake of the gospel.
00:21:55.119 --> 00:22:01.920
Yeah, I would add to what David said it's it isn't only about the hard place, it's about People who have never heard and have no access.
00:22:01.920 --> 00:22:02.240
Yeah.
00:22:02.240 --> 00:22:02.720
Right.
00:22:02.720 --> 00:22:04.160
So that whole unreached movement.
00:22:04.640 --> 00:22:05.759
Okay, can you c if people don't know that?
00:22:05.759 --> 00:22:06.880
Can you just define what that is?
00:22:07.119 --> 00:22:07.359
Yeah.
00:22:07.359 --> 00:22:10.559
So non-Christians are non-Christians, right?
00:22:10.559 --> 00:22:11.680
They just don't believe in Jesus.
00:22:11.680 --> 00:22:16.319
Well, around here, many people have heard the gospel, at least the concepts of the gospel.
00:22:16.319 --> 00:22:19.440
There are people in the world who have never even heard the name of Jesus.
00:22:19.440 --> 00:22:20.960
They have no idea who He is.
00:22:20.960 --> 00:22:21.359
Yeah.
00:22:21.359 --> 00:22:27.839
So unreached means they don't really have access to the gospel, even if they wanted to believe, there's nowhere to go.
00:22:27.839 --> 00:22:31.200
So access is a huge differentiator.
00:22:31.200 --> 00:22:35.200
It's not to say we don't care about Europe or you know South America or whatever.
00:22:35.200 --> 00:22:37.200
No, we do, because there are lost people there.
00:22:37.200 --> 00:22:41.039
But there are whole peoples that have never heard even once.
00:22:41.039 --> 00:22:45.039
So this younger generation has captured, been captured by that vision.
00:22:45.039 --> 00:22:47.839
How do we make disciples among unreached peoples?
00:22:47.839 --> 00:22:53.920
Which is I mean, it's it's it's inspiring, it's challenging, and I'm like, wow, God.
00:22:53.920 --> 00:22:56.640
But I also think it's a generational thing.
00:22:56.640 --> 00:23:09.279
And uh as baby boomers continue to move off the scene uh in their different generations, this younger set of uh colleagues are really compelled for unreached peoples.
00:23:09.279 --> 00:23:22.880
So the challenge that we have is how do we gear our structures, our systems to accommodate and move in those same directions, not just out on the field, how do we accommodate those kinds of partnerships and churches from the US?
00:23:23.920 --> 00:23:24.160
Good.
00:23:24.160 --> 00:23:30.960
So flip question What is uh the hardest question facing mission organizations right now?
00:23:30.960 --> 00:23:36.079
And you can use more than one if you want, but I I'll jump in.
00:23:36.160 --> 00:23:39.200
I I think it's a similar question that most churches are asking.
00:23:39.200 --> 00:23:42.079
Are we able and willing to change?
00:23:42.079 --> 00:23:43.039
Right?
00:23:43.039 --> 00:24:00.240
So if we have a missionary model that's dependent on, you know, three, four years of seminary, raise support, you're in it for this 30 or 40 year commitment, that's probably not gonna help us uh reach unreached peoples today because those values have shifted in a younger generation.
00:24:00.240 --> 00:24:07.119
So are we able to change our models of mission, how we do mission, how do we function as an organization?
00:24:07.119 --> 00:24:15.680
Well, similarly, similarly in churches, I think COVID revealed a lot of uh strengths and weaknesses in local churches.
00:24:15.680 --> 00:24:18.160
But people aren't just gonna naturally come.
00:24:18.160 --> 00:24:25.440
So how do we figure out how to go to our communities uh and make disciples rather than have this attractional model?
00:24:25.440 --> 00:24:27.759
COVID kind of shut a lot of that down.
00:24:27.759 --> 00:24:41.200
So I think the biggest challenge, this sounds uh kind of crazy, but are we able and willing to change our thinking about what is missions and what are my expectations then of the agency to send me?
00:24:42.799 --> 00:24:55.359
Yeah, I would say a a correlation to that is uh thinking in terms of as North American sending mission agencies, what is our role going forward in the global church?
00:24:55.359 --> 00:25:11.279
So when you recognize the the size of the global church in the global south, in Asia, and the fact that people all around the world are sending mission aid uh sending missionaries out.
00:25:11.279 --> 00:25:18.559
So uh in this day and age, how do we as North Americans partner with the global church?
00:25:18.559 --> 00:25:36.640
So for a long time, we were kind of the tip of the spear going out and and setting the the strategy and the tone of what was happening in global missions, but that ship has sailed a long time ago, and it has taken us a long time to come to the realization about that.
00:25:36.640 --> 00:26:02.000
And so that means then that we have to change our mission strategies, how we function, how we partner with others, and uh and just even preparing our workers to go out with a global humility, recognizing that as North Americans, we still have a role to play, but it's probably a different role than it was even 25 years ago, let alone 100 years ago.
00:26:02.000 --> 00:26:02.319
Yeah.
00:26:02.319 --> 00:26:03.519
It's a good word.
00:26:04.000 --> 00:26:04.319
All right.
00:26:04.319 --> 00:26:08.799
I have one last question, and then I'll let you guys make a closing statement and closing arguments.
00:26:08.799 --> 00:26:24.720
Um so kind of piggybacking off of what you just said, uh, if somebody was listening to this or somebody came this weekend, and this was one of our hopes, that maybe somebody would catch the vision of going, of being mobilized, of being Catherine used a different word, she didn't like mobilization.
00:26:24.720 --> 00:26:25.119
What was that?
00:26:25.119 --> 00:26:26.799
Training, training, training.
00:26:26.799 --> 00:26:33.680
If somebody wanted to be trained to go out and they they feel called to be a missionary, what are the next steps they could take?
00:26:33.680 --> 00:26:36.160
You know, how could they get connected with world venture?
00:26:36.160 --> 00:26:40.960
Um, and how can churches come alongside to help uh folks like you?
00:26:42.799 --> 00:26:47.920
Well, I would say that um the church is actually central to that.
00:26:47.920 --> 00:26:58.079
We there are a lot of mission agencies who will just take whoever is interested in going, but world venture requires you to be sent by a local church.
00:26:58.079 --> 00:27:10.480
And and so increasingly we want to um affirm that and have the local church really be mentoring and guiding and directing them toward their missionary service, right?
00:27:10.480 --> 00:27:15.920
So that uh so that people don't get to the point where they're like, hey, I'm gonna go to country X.
00:27:15.920 --> 00:27:22.720
They come to you as a pastor and are like, hey, we want, I want you to support me to go to this country, and you've never heard anything about it, right?
00:27:22.720 --> 00:27:25.839
The church really needs to be integral in that process.
00:27:25.839 --> 00:27:44.960
And so we actually oftentimes will direct people back to their church and say, hey, spend some time working with your church, figuring out what it is that God's calling you to do and have that conversation with your church first before you come to us as a mission organization, right?
00:27:44.960 --> 00:27:51.359
But we do intentionally disciple and mentor people through the process of becoming a worker.
00:27:51.359 --> 00:27:57.279
And uh, but a lot of that pre-work before you apply to a mission agency needs to happen at the church level.
00:27:57.599 --> 00:27:59.200
How do you find churches that are doing that well?
00:27:59.200 --> 00:28:01.519
How are they cultivating that within their people?
00:28:02.480 --> 00:28:04.240
Well, I think is it a class?
00:28:04.319 --> 00:28:05.599
Is it more mission trips?
00:28:05.599 --> 00:28:06.160
Like what is it?
00:28:06.480 --> 00:28:08.079
Yeah, I think it's a combination of things.
00:28:08.079 --> 00:28:08.640
Yeah.
00:28:08.640 --> 00:28:17.200
So uh some of the churches that are sending the most people, they really have an intentional plan to develop missionaries in their midst, right?
00:28:17.200 --> 00:28:17.519
Okay.
00:28:17.519 --> 00:28:24.079
So they will have um, they will get people involved in short-term mission trips, which can be an impetus for that.
00:28:24.079 --> 00:28:29.839
And but then also having intentional courses to help people learn about it.
00:28:29.839 --> 00:28:33.359
And and actually perspectives on the world Christian movement.
00:28:33.359 --> 00:28:35.920
Uh well, it may not be called that anymore, just perspectives.
00:28:35.920 --> 00:28:36.480
Perspectives.
00:28:36.480 --> 00:28:38.400
They just call it perspectives now, yeah.
00:28:38.400 --> 00:28:40.000
That that dates me.
00:28:40.000 --> 00:28:48.480
Um, so perspective is is a really great opportunity for somebody to learn about the needs of the world and how somebody can go.
00:28:48.960 --> 00:28:53.359
Yeah, I think in addition, uh so it's that church environment, right?
00:28:53.359 --> 00:29:00.559
So from the pulpit all the way through all the ministries of the church, there's this uh a biblical view of mission.
00:29:00.559 --> 00:29:10.000
It's not simply an activity of the church or a small group of the church, the whole of the church is on mission, and it gets voiced in different ways uh by the service.
00:29:10.000 --> 00:29:19.200
Well, you take that environment and then you say it's a you know typical 20-something that's interested, thinks God may have a call in their life.
00:29:19.200 --> 00:29:24.640
Um so worldentry.com about us, you can find stuff.
00:29:24.640 --> 00:29:26.400
There's how to you know, learn more.
00:29:26.400 --> 00:29:33.759
You can fill out an application, just general information, name, phone number, that kind of stuff that begins this conversation with us.
00:29:33.759 --> 00:29:41.440
But as David said, one of our first calls is to the pastor or missions team where are you guys at in this journey with them?
00:29:41.440 --> 00:29:45.359
Um so that's that's pretty crucial for us.
00:29:45.359 --> 00:29:48.799
Uh we're always open for new workers.
00:29:48.799 --> 00:29:58.960
In fact, uh I would say this way churches that are intentional about developing and sending people um well I'll I'll let me phrase it differently.
00:29:58.960 --> 00:30:03.599
I believe in every healthy church, God is always sending people out of that church.
00:30:03.599 --> 00:30:09.920
Could be into their community, could be in you know, New York City across the river, or across the world.
00:30:09.920 --> 00:30:14.000
That's just a sign of organizational health within the church.
00:30:14.000 --> 00:30:18.720
The systems are working, people are being developed, God's equipping them.
00:30:18.720 --> 00:30:21.599
So a long and short answer how can you learn more?
00:30:21.599 --> 00:30:23.920
Worldventure.com is pretty easy.
00:30:23.920 --> 00:30:29.039
Um uh like a lot of agencies, a lot of our initial steps are through the website.
00:30:29.279 --> 00:30:29.920
That's wonderful.
00:30:29.920 --> 00:30:34.559
Tim, by the way, I think maybe you should do an ad where I hear your voice saying worldventure.com.
00:30:34.559 --> 00:30:36.240
Sponsor for today.
00:30:36.240 --> 00:30:38.880
Check out worldventure.com.
00:30:38.880 --> 00:30:43.839
Well, it was so it was such a blessing to have you guys here this weekend.
00:30:43.839 --> 00:30:46.400
We'd love to have you back uh if you're ever in New Jersey.
00:30:46.400 --> 00:30:48.480
Um, but if you don't come back, I'll understand.
00:30:48.480 --> 00:30:51.119
Um maybe you could give us some parting words.
00:30:51.119 --> 00:30:54.240
What's the last thing you would say to the audience uh before you head out?
00:30:55.200 --> 00:30:59.519
Well, let me just jump on you you guys are celebrating your 175th anniversary.
00:30:59.519 --> 00:31:04.640
Yeah, that means multiple generations had a vision for the future.
00:31:04.640 --> 00:31:14.559
So as you guys look to the next 25 or whatever the goal is, right, for the church, uh don't lose sight of God's bigger picture for Millington Baptist Church.
00:31:14.640 --> 00:31:14.799
Yeah.
00:31:15.119 --> 00:31:18.880
He's not done with the church, and you can't just rest on your laurels, so to speak.
00:31:18.880 --> 00:31:20.079
So what is next?
00:31:20.079 --> 00:31:23.200
And that that conversation is very exciting.
00:31:23.200 --> 00:31:25.599
Uh you know, the partnership.
00:31:25.599 --> 00:31:31.839
Well, I'll just back up and say as we think differently about mission, we also have to think differently where does mission occur?
00:31:31.839 --> 00:31:32.240
Uh-huh.
00:31:32.240 --> 00:31:38.319
And for a long time, I believed, as we heard this weekend, the world has moved to New Jersey.
00:31:38.319 --> 00:31:39.839
It's moved to New York City.
00:31:39.839 --> 00:31:46.799
And so we've got to get past geography to say, wait a minute, what would it look like to reach the unreached peoples that have moved here?
00:31:46.799 --> 00:31:50.640
And how do we do that in partnership with churches in the greater New York City area?
00:31:51.200 --> 00:31:52.000
That's a great question.
00:31:52.000 --> 00:32:00.640
Summing up, I'd say in my sermon this morning, I talked about that Jesus is building his church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.
00:32:00.640 --> 00:32:06.480
And so we need to be encouraged by the fact that Jesus is building his church.
00:32:06.480 --> 00:32:12.400
At the same time, we have to be reminded that Jesus told us to go and make disciples, right?
00:32:12.400 --> 00:32:16.720
So we're not just passively sitting back while Jesus is building his church.
00:32:16.720 --> 00:32:19.599
He has called us to actively be involved in that.
00:32:19.599 --> 00:32:37.599
And whether that's here locally or globally, the mission moves forward through people who are faithful and responsive to the call of Jesus to make a difference in their sphere of influence, to actually go and cross barriers to be able to reach people.
00:32:37.599 --> 00:32:44.240
And so it doesn't give us an excuse to say, oh, well, Jesus is building his church, so I'm all good, right?
00:32:44.240 --> 00:32:45.920
No, we have to be involved.
00:32:45.920 --> 00:32:47.519
He's commanded us to go.
00:32:47.839 --> 00:32:49.839
Jesus is building his church through you.
00:32:50.240 --> 00:32:50.640
That's right.
00:32:50.799 --> 00:32:51.440
That's a good word.
00:32:51.440 --> 00:32:53.839
Jeff, David, thank you so much for being here this weekend.
00:32:53.839 --> 00:32:54.799
It was a pleasure.
00:32:54.799 --> 00:32:57.599
And uh, I guess we're back to behind the pulpit.
00:32:57.839 --> 00:32:58.240
All right.
00:32:58.240 --> 00:32:58.799
Thank you.
00:32:58.799 --> 00:32:59.759
Thanks.
00:32:59.759 --> 00:33:04.480
Chances are if there's someone in your life who has questions about Christianity.
00:33:04.480 --> 00:33:11.039
Maybe they're curious about Jesus, unsure what they believe, or simply looking for a place where they can ask honest questions without pressure.
00:33:11.039 --> 00:33:13.759
Christianity Explored is designed for exactly that.
00:33:13.759 --> 00:33:21.920
Over seven relaxed informal sessions, participants walk through Mark's gospel and explore the person at the center of the Christian faith, Jesus Christ.
00:33:21.920 --> 00:33:28.079
There's time to read the Bible, hear a short talk, discuss what it means, and wrestle with the big questions of life and faith.
00:33:28.079 --> 00:33:34.000
So as Christianity Explored begins this fall, think about who you could invite, or even attend alongside.
00:33:34.000 --> 00:33:40.160
For details, dates, and registration, visit the Christianity Explored page on the NBC website.
00:33:40.480 --> 00:33:44.960
Alright, well, that was uh a riveting interview uh uh there.
00:33:44.960 --> 00:33:46.720
Uh so thank you so much for watching that.
00:33:46.720 --> 00:33:48.880
Jeff and David, just uh great guys.
00:33:48.880 --> 00:33:55.599
World Venture is doing um wonderful work around the globe, and uh people are coming to Jesus and God's kingdom is being built.
00:33:55.599 --> 00:34:03.599
So that's that's what it's all about, and we are glad to partner with them and uh and and have good relationships uh with our missionaries.
00:34:04.000 --> 00:34:09.440
They uh reposted, whoa, they reposted our uh Instagram post from the weekend.
00:34:09.760 --> 00:34:11.280
Ooh, okay, all right.
00:34:11.280 --> 00:34:15.119
So we we even have social media uh connections uh going on right there.
00:34:15.440 --> 00:34:17.679
I didn't realize we weren't following them, so we're now we're following them.
00:34:17.679 --> 00:34:18.559
We are now following them.
00:34:18.559 --> 00:34:25.039
They were already following us, and then they I tagged them in the one picture of Jeff Deadlinger and they reposted it.
00:34:25.039 --> 00:34:25.599
Okay.
00:34:25.679 --> 00:34:27.599
Well, shame on us for not following World Venture.
00:34:27.599 --> 00:34:28.800
Now we've rectified that.
00:34:28.800 --> 00:34:29.519
Yes.
00:34:29.519 --> 00:34:33.679
All right, so uh Tim, uh, what's due the results of the book war?
00:34:33.679 --> 00:34:38.079
Because people that that weathered that interview are now wondering uh what happened last week.
00:34:38.079 --> 00:34:43.039
And you told me before we started recording that we had a record number of votes.
00:34:43.039 --> 00:34:46.320
Indeed, we have did somebody vote more than once.
00:34:46.480 --> 00:34:48.639
Uh I don't think so.
00:34:48.639 --> 00:34:50.960
I feel like when that has happened, someone will reach out.
00:34:50.960 --> 00:34:52.960
Hopefully nobody's creating dark web accounts.
00:34:52.960 --> 00:34:57.599
But for whatever reason, we had the most votes in the history of the book war.
00:34:57.599 --> 00:35:00.079
I believe it's we got 14 votes.
00:35:00.079 --> 00:35:01.440
Fourteen votes.
00:35:01.440 --> 00:35:07.039
And I don't know if I guess if it was the new scoring format that people are excited about.
00:35:07.039 --> 00:35:09.360
Maybe your vote has a little more weight now.
00:35:09.360 --> 00:35:14.480
Um, but yeah, so it's it feels like a hard week to not have a book war.
00:35:14.480 --> 00:35:16.559
You know, we can't carry the voting momentum.
00:35:16.559 --> 00:35:21.119
So you guys are just gonna have to sit and be excited for next time.
00:35:21.119 --> 00:35:24.719
But here's the score that we are looking at uh from last week.
00:35:24.719 --> 00:35:35.360
Pastor Bob took over the lead at 10 to 7, and this week's winner was Pastor Dave with the Apostolic Fathers in English by Michael W.
00:35:35.360 --> 00:35:37.440
Holmes, and we can see the pie chart here.
00:35:37.440 --> 00:35:40.159
14 responses, eight to six.
00:35:40.159 --> 00:35:43.920
So that means that Pastor Bob, you still have the lead.
00:35:43.920 --> 00:35:45.679
Still the lead, but only by one.
00:35:45.679 --> 00:35:47.199
You I'll tell you what.
00:35:47.199 --> 00:35:50.079
Um, this is we had I think nine votes.
00:35:50.239 --> 00:35:52.559
Yeah, it had to like in most games, you have to win by two.
00:35:52.960 --> 00:35:54.800
Yeah, we can we can figure that out.
00:35:54.800 --> 00:35:56.960
Uh I think you gotta keep playing.
00:35:56.960 --> 00:35:59.840
Yeah, so this was this was my bad.
00:35:59.840 --> 00:36:02.960
I don't know why our podcast platform didn't post.
00:36:02.960 --> 00:36:06.800
It went out on YouTube, I had it all set to go, and then I realized it never posted.
00:36:06.800 --> 00:36:15.360
So I think I made I got it out yesterday or the day before, and there was an extra five votes that came in um between yesterday and today um of people listening.
00:36:15.360 --> 00:36:16.239
So thank you for listening.
00:36:16.239 --> 00:36:18.000
I apologize for it not going out.
00:36:18.000 --> 00:36:22.239
I don't think it was my fault, um, actually, but I think it was the software.
00:36:22.639 --> 00:36:23.039
It wasn't me.
00:36:23.039 --> 00:36:23.519
Wasn't me.
00:36:23.679 --> 00:36:24.159
It wasn't me.
00:36:24.159 --> 00:36:25.280
But uh yeah, we're looking forward.
00:36:25.280 --> 00:36:27.920
You guys have a week off of voting, but uh come back next time.
00:36:28.079 --> 00:36:28.559
There you go.
00:36:28.559 --> 00:36:29.199
Very good.
00:36:29.199 --> 00:36:35.280
Uh one of the things I forgot to mention about the missions conference is Tim put together an epic cahoot.
00:36:35.280 --> 00:36:40.079
Can you tell the people at home who don't know what a Kahoot is?
00:36:40.079 --> 00:36:42.239
What it is, describe it to them.
00:36:42.480 --> 00:36:46.639
Yes, uh so a Kahoot Um is it's essentially a quiz.
00:36:46.639 --> 00:36:49.840
Uh Kahoot was this really cool software and they've grown.
00:36:49.840 --> 00:37:06.400
Um, where it started out being it's a really good education tool where they have different levels, so you can use it at home for games, you could use it you know in the classroom, but essentially people connect to their phone or device um and then they show the questions on the screen, and then you respond on your phone.
00:37:06.400 --> 00:37:12.880
Um it's really fun because it you gain points by answering the questions correctly, but also answering them quickly.
00:37:12.880 --> 00:37:15.760
So there's a good amount of like point disparity.
00:37:15.760 --> 00:37:19.280
Um but yeah, it was it was a lot, it's a lot of fun.
00:37:19.280 --> 00:37:27.840
Uh, we do it will make another appearance because we now have a Kahoot account uh that we can have at up to 100 people do that Kahoot or any other Kahoot.
00:37:27.840 --> 00:37:33.519
So you'll probably be seeing more cahoots around the NBC campus in the various ministries that you participate in.
00:37:33.519 --> 00:37:34.400
But it's a lot of fun.
00:37:34.639 --> 00:37:37.199
It's gonna be a cahootathon here pretty soon.
00:37:37.199 --> 00:37:41.760
Uh but you you put together one on missions, our world partners, global missions, world venture.
00:37:41.760 --> 00:37:42.880
It was really well done.
00:37:42.880 --> 00:37:46.400
Um so if you want to take that cahoot, you said it's available, right?
00:37:46.639 --> 00:37:50.079
Ask your uh it would have to be, yeah, it would have to be.
00:37:50.079 --> 00:37:53.440
You'd have to take we'd have to do it again sometime.
00:37:53.760 --> 00:37:55.119
Well, um maybe we should.
00:37:55.360 --> 00:37:55.599
Yeah.
00:37:55.599 --> 00:37:58.719
Special shout out to Samuel Kang, uh, who beat us.
00:37:58.880 --> 00:37:59.760
To beat the bronze, right?
00:38:00.000 --> 00:38:06.159
He took the bronze, but he also beat both the president and the vice president of World Venture that you just saw in the in the video.
00:38:06.480 --> 00:38:07.519
Good job, Samuel.
00:38:07.519 --> 00:38:08.239
Good job.
