What do you do when the career you built disappears, the safety net is gone, and you have no idea what comes next?
For Jane Kassel, the answer was simple, but not easy:
Keep going.
On this episode of Be Visible with Veronica, Veronica sits down with Jane Kassel of Kassel Benefits LLC for a conversation that begins with health insurance for entrepreneurs and evolves into a powerful story of resilience, faith, reinvention, and hope.
Jane's career journey has taken many turns. She began working in vision care straight out of high school, built a long career in the industry, experienced multiple layoffs, became a single parent, and eventually decided she needed to create something no one could take away from her.
But entrepreneurship didn't make life easier overnight.
Jane shares the very real story of financial hardship, foreclosure, living in someone else's home, having her belongings in storage, and totaling her car at one of the lowest points in her life.
Then came a phone call, a new opportunity, and a breakthrough.
Within days of making her first sale, Jane began building a business that would eventually allow her to pay off debt, save $80,000, purchase a home, and become a top producer.
But the most powerful part of her story isn't the money.
It's what she learned along the way.
Jane talks about why relationships matter more than being salesy, how networking helped her grow, why community is essential, and why you should never be afraid to try something new when you're in a changing market.
She also shares practical insight into health insurance options for entrepreneurs, people considering leaving corporate employment, and those approaching early retirement.
And then the conversation goes deeper.
Jane talks about faith, surrender, the people who showed up at exactly the right time, and the importance of telling your true story instead of pretending everything is okay.
Her message to women who are struggling is one every entrepreneur needs to hear:
You can't quit on yourself.
Sometimes you don't need to give up.
Sometimes you just need a different vehicle.
