What would convince Greg Sankey to eliminate an SEC Championship Game reportedly worth $80–$100 million annually?
In this episode of Agent Confidential, Mike Chaudron breaks down The Sankey Math: the financial argument that could make a 24-team College Football Playoff worthwhile for the Southeastern Conference.
We examine the reported $345 million increase in annual playoff television payments, what the SEC might receive, and the critical difference between replacing existing revenue and generating new revenue.
The final financial arrangements haven’t been disclosed, but the numbers give us a way to understand what Sankey needed to accomplish.
Somebody showed him the spreadsheet.
We’d love to see the bottom line.
