Jeff's got a ⁓ small topic that may turn into a big topic. You never know how that goes around here. But with that, welcome. Jeff? Tom? Did you do anything over the weekend? Nope. Well, okay. Nope. Stayed home this weekend and ⁓ Winnipeg Fisher's did a bridal planning party. ⁓ yeah, I I see the I see the anguish in your your eyes. I had nothing to do with the bridal planning party. I didn't sit in the corner and drink with sitting with my brother in law. I think that's ⁓ I think that's gas, Jeff. It's not English. Drinking some beer, then ⁓ Saturday didn't do a whole bunch. Sunday didn't do a whole bunch. So yeah, it was one of those rare weekends where not a lot. Yeah, you kinda feel guilty Sunday after you look back on the weekend, you go, What the hell did I accomplish this weekend? Man, it was absolutely nothing. There you go. Well, you know, sometimes that's good. Mm-hmm. How about you, Linko? Anything good? Not a lot. Nothing? Nah. Wow. Look at these. Sorry, man. I mean I just I I didn't do a lot. Lazy weekend. Kind of the same thing. ⁓ shit. Huh. The weekend's over. I didn't get my sh done. Wow. ⁓ Yeah, I don't know. Couple things outside. Yeah, I don't know. I d I actually did watch football this weekend. The previous weekend I really did not. Right. previous two really did not. So watched IU play ⁓ a little bit. So that was good. We'll talk about the Colts game, I'm sure. ⁓ we had some beers Friday night time. We did have some beers Friday. We had a lot. And I actually I don't have to ask Tom this question because I do I actually know what he ate. You were holding the camera? What the chicken livers. You were holding the camera. A chicken livers. Huh. Were they good? ⁓ they were really good. Yeah. Yeah. Coachman, you can get you can get a basket of chicken livers. It's like six bucks. You ate seriously ate chicken livers. Hell yeah, I did. Awesome. That's all I had for dinner. Were they good? ⁓ my god. Yeah. You gonna ask me again? ⁓ they were they were still good. How good were they? They were so good. No, this is weird. They gave me cocktail sauce to go with it, and I was like, that's kinda odd. But I just ate ⁓ Yeah. And it was delicious. I mean, don't they call boy chickens cocks? Or is that a rooster? I don't know. They're they're livers, they're not cocks. Cocktail. ⁓ I see. That's where I was going. I understand. But whatever, dude. Okay. You can take it down whatever road you want. Absolutely. Take it down your throat. But we ate and then the only thing that went down my throat Friday night besides chicken livers was ⁓ un unhealthy amount of beer. Yeah. You know, there was another story that came out of that. It's kind of funny while we were sitting there, and I don't know if this has ever happened to you guys, but do you ever just get the feeling that you want to drink some cheap liquor? No. Ever miss it, you know, like really the back in the day. Like Kamchada, vodka. No, something. No, I'm talking like a like a well like a well Long Island or ⁓ something like that. ⁓ yeah, you did get a long island. Yeah. Yeah, you did alone. I was sitting there and I was like, you know what'd be really be good right now? Yeah. The answer to your question is no. And it was, and I got Brett to do a shot. So shitty look. No, he did a shot of fireball. ⁓ We made an exception for the circumstances of the week. 'Cause the old lady who was dancing at the thing or whatever? ⁓ that was a horrible s hor that was horrible. She's at all of their shows. What? Kind of she's good. Fill fill me in. Fill me in. ⁓ so the band's called Cosmic Situation. There's a there's a lady that always goes around with us. ⁓ with them, I'm pretty sure. Groupie? I I don't think she's a groupie. No, I think she's you. No. No, we just go see him at the coachman. We've seen a lot we've seen his You've seen it in the last in the last six weeks. I've seen him a couple times and I bet you're closer to five than three. No that's groupy territory top three. ⁓ yeah, you cancel the one at Stalker at ton eighty 'cause you weren't. Yeah, I didn't we can go to ton eighty. ⁓ call it whatever you want. Stalker. No, we're not a stalker. They're they're good. So they do play solo. You've seen them at the coachman twice. Okay. Well w are they good? ⁓ I thought they were good. first time seeing ⁓ Yeah. Yeah. Good. Good band. Th the only thing that's kinda it was weird to me the variety was there. But they didn't they didn't play some of what I would think would be normal ⁓ Indiana type music. Like no Tom Petty, no Bob Seeger, no Mellencamp. I don't know. You you could throw a couple others in there that you're like, ⁓ that that's kind of a staple or a go to. Sure. ⁓ but yeah. Yeah, I thought they were good. They were good. Yeah. But then Sunday, this was fun. We ⁓ so I got asked to go play bingo Sunday. Bingo. I'm like Okay. I had no details. I was just like, You're going to play bingo, you don't know where you're going, don't know. Supporting a wife. So we go to the Eagles in ⁓ Plainfield. Eagles Lodge in Plainfield. And actually it was a fundraiser. The Ashley Moore Foundation. Ashley Moore marched ⁓ for the Plainfield marching band and ⁓ was killed in her senior year in a car accident. So this was a fundraiser for her foundation. So it's Pay money, play bingo, buy raffle, pull tabs, yeah. Fifty fifty, all that. So we bought fifty fifty. We played pole tabs the whole time we were there, dropped about a hundred bucks. And then at the end they said, Hey, fifty fifty's at I don't know, it was like just short of a thousand bucks. And they're like, We're gonna go one more round if anybody wants to buy tickets. So we buy some more tickets. Hey, we won the fifty fifty. ⁓ wow. On the We didn't win shit playing bingo. On the tickets that you added at the end? No. ⁓ okay. I didn't have to buy extra tickets to win the fifty fifth gold. But I did. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So so yeah, so it gave us an opportunity. We took part of it and gave it back to them. Yeah. So for the foundation, which was cool and we were glad to do that. So but it was for a great cause. So yeah, it was neat. So what'd you pocket? So it's like about five After we put it back s put gave them some money back, I don't know, we walked out of about three hundred bucks. Nice. Three three and change. So nice. Yeah, it was cool. Plus plus the free meal you probably bitched about while you were there. No, we didn't buy it. Some pulled pork. For a can of beer. Can no a bottle. Bottle can whatever. I got a bucket of of Yinglings for I don't know. Two bucks. Less than ten bucks. Wow. My goodness. It was ⁓ it was no, it was exactly ten bucks. Let's start podcasting from Hey Hey, you know what? We can. You know why? Why? I enjoyed myself so much. I joined. Hang on, what is hang on? So you're an eagle? You're an Eagle Scout? I have I have I have not been ⁓ initiated. Or Dave. Of course you haven't. But ⁓ Bring your way which will take your butt plugs. They said something about riding a goat. I don't know. ⁓ but anyhow So while we were there, they were talking about, you know, membership, whatever, and then I'm like looking beer prices and They have all kinds of stuff that go on on the weekend. You can go up there and if you go watch you can always take somebody with you for no big deal. But buck fifty beers and you want to go up there and, you know, do watch a game or whatever. So this one in Plainfield? Yep. Huh. I don't know. Is that on forty? It's on forty just west. Yeah, just west of town. Is it the golf course? No, it's not that far away. Okay. Not quite there. Okay. So it's before you get to the golf course. But it is on the same side of the road. All right. So hang on. On the north side. So hang on. So I honestly I don't really know. Okay. Ask ask I'll ask all ⁓ what do you want to know? No okay. So you said it was an Eagle something? No what Eagles. The Eagles. Fraternal Orgernal Order of Eagles. Look at that. Somebody somebody Mr. Google F O E. Okay. Fraternal Order of Eagles, yes. F O E got it. It's an international organization. Their service organization. What so like Kawanis is this. ⁓ Lions Club is Eyesight, I think. That's what they're That's what they yeah. I see. Yeah. So and the Eagles they they just do community projects. So gotcha. Like they'll do ⁓ you can ⁓ sponsor a kid at Christmas. And they they have on the walls they have all these different things that they're raising money for. So they have different groups that are raising money for different things in the community and stuff. Nice. So yeah, it's a big service organization. Okay. So without asking any questions at all, you just kind of explained. ⁓ I asked questions. No, me. Yeah. I was trying. I know. But I know, but that was my question. I'm like, what what the hell? What is it? What's the benefit? Yeah, what what's Sounds like a dollar fifty beer is the benefit. So it's six it's cheap drinks. Fifty bucks a year. It's cheap. Yeah. It's a dollar application fee, fifty bucks a year. ⁓ they always get you on the application. ⁓ Shipping. Shipping dude. No, I want that money in the fifty fifty. Yeah. So it's like, hell yeah, why not? So then you every once in a while will may they'll want you to volunteer your time and energy. No no no expectation, but they do ask, obviously. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. Yeah. That's actually not bad. No, it's all community driven stuff. I know a lot of people like, man, I'm happy to volunteer time. I just don't Don't know where So if somebody's organizing that and go, Hey, we need ten volunteers at December fifth for whatever. To work this fair and fundraise and so as a kid worked the oil wrestling picks. My dad was always in the Kawanas and then I have relatives that were that were in the VFW. Yeah. And I American Legion. Yeah. But ⁓ it was cool. That's yeah, it's just a service organization where you can go hang out and drink beer and everybody seemed really nice. Yeah. And ⁓ you know, nothing weird. Yeah, they gotcha. Yeah, until they find out you're from until they find out you're from Brownsburg. They know. Then it's over. Yeah. Application. Tom's not in Brownsburg. Yeah. I got interviewed. Application. I got interviewed by a guy who was probably Whoa, there was an interview? Yeah, yeah. It wasn't difficult. ⁓ like in a in the bar. Private room? No, it was in the bar. You got interviewed in a bar to join this club. After drinking a bucket of beer. It was at the club where we got interviewed. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. What kind of questions were asked? He had more than my bucket. What? I bet he had more than your bucket. Do you believe in a higher power? Do well you know what kind of recreational activities do you enjoy? Like electricity? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like electricity. As a matter of fact that was my answer. There are people that are stronger than me. Yeah. Thirty eight, thirty nine, whatever it takes. Yeah. ⁓ So yeah, one ten, two twenty, you know. but yeah. I didn't. I didn't. I did I did correct him once because he wrote something down. No way. No way. He was writing down these answers without asking me, and I said no, that I can't remember what it was, but I was like, No, that's not right. You gotta change that one. And they said you're the secretary. Yes. He goes, ⁓ okay. Yeah. You're keeping minutes in the meeting. ⁓ You've been there five minutes and you're already correct. It was fun. That's awesome. It was fun. So now so now I'll be doing fun stuff with the Eagles and I'll I'll rope my friends into it and we'll all go out and have cheap beers after we're Well, okay, so now that you're a member, can you open up your own branch, say like a ⁓ Tenth and Country Club? Hey. I think you probably could, but I don't I don't know how that works. Okay. ⁓ I'm pretty sure I'm sure there's Eagles. I mean, I know there's Eagles licenses all over all over. I mean they're they're ever. I just don't know how they're able to get up in the air. I just 'cause those buildings are pretty big. And at your branch we're charging twenty five bucks an application fee. Yeah. Okay. And ⁓ so yeah. The women the women get in for like thirty five. Yeah, really? Yeah. Bitches bitch. It's cheaper. And so that was the conversation. I was like, Hey, Amy, why don't You join and then I'll just go with you. So you're looking to you're looking to scam them out of fifty fucking dollars. After just taking five hundred from them or whatever that number was. So okay, one last question. No, I think this is our whole topic. I'm kind of fascinated by it. So the so the Eagles. Did you get Don Henley's autograph? I did not. Okay. He was not there. Gwynn Fry, Joe Walsh. No, none of them. Different Eagles. ⁓ Yeah. ⁓ well this isn't this and this is not different eagles. This isn't a big deal then. Okay, fraternal order of eagles. D you guys International nonprofit fraternal organization founded in eighteen ninety eight in Seattle, Washington Fez by theater owners under the motto People Helping People. Like Flintstones Fez? It originally started as the Order of Good Things before adopting the bald ingle eagle emblem. Membership includes eight hundred thousand members across thirteen hundred local chapters. Eight hundred thousand and one. Yep. Well, his current wife didn't join. Now here this is fun. So you said thirteen hundred chapters? Yep. Yep. That's a big book. Credited with advocating for the creation of Mother's Day and providing early impetus for social security and Medicare. Huh. So yeah, they raise funds for major charitable areas, including kidney, heart diabetes, cancer, and spinal cord injury research. All all good causes and what you say. What does impotence have to do with spinal cord research? Impetus. ⁓ yeah, you lose your spine, you can't your PP stops working. Your pecker doesn't work so good. Mine's still going. Your spine's work. Yep. And you can get a free first year of membership if you're active military. Veteran firefighter police officer. Do you have a hat like that kick ass hat they had in the what was the club in Flintstones? Linked with the Royal Buffalo. Royal Buffalo or Water Buffalo. Water Buffalo Buffalo. Water Buffalo. That would be bad. That'd be funny, wouldn't A Shriner. He needs a Shriner hat. Yeah, he does. The water buffalo hat is badass. You know why he joined? Who? Tom. ⁓ Tom. There's no top hats. Because he really wear top hats. There's no top hats. There's no top hats? There will be a chur franchise. You need to start that tradition, Tom. Nope. So yeah. Fly goals fly. Anyhow, no, sorry for that problem before it's nineteen ⁓ eight this week in his story. so this dude what the hell was his name again? Joe. Merkel. Merkel. Joe Merkel? May Billy. Billy Merkel. Yes. So the so short stop for Babuf. He was a baseball player. Close. He was a baseball player. ⁓ bottom of the ninth of the deciding game of the National League pennant race. Scores tied up one to one. The New York Giants hit ⁓ the batter hits a ball to center field, bringing the runner on third in for the winning run. Giants player Fred Merkel. Billy's brother, ⁓ who had been on first base, ⁓ he considered the game to be won. So he just headed over to the dugout without advancing to second base. So this resulted in a force out at second, nullifying the run and ending the game in a tie. This resulted in a playoff game. Hilarious. So which the Giants lost, causing them to lose the National League pennant. Well they've changed they've changed that rule since then. No, it wasn't called the Merkel rule. Back then it ⁓ became known as ⁓ Merkel's boner. Of course it was. I can't make this up, by the way. Do you think when he walked off he had just the tip of saying that? Just the tip. Like a dog, the the red. When I saw Merkel's boner, I was like, dude, I I was I gotta know what this is. I gotta know what this is. So that was that was nineteen ⁓ eight. Nineteen o eight, yes. That would have been the last time the Cubs won the World Series before what, nineteen twelve or right? Nineteen twelve or thirteen? Or twenty twenty twelve. Jesus Christ. Twenty one. Yeah. I don't know. I'm not a baseball aficionato. Yeah, probably. No, no. Who were the Giants playing? The Cubs. The Cubs. ⁓ sorry. I I phased out. So yeah. You distracted me with the Giants lost causing them to ⁓ lose the National League pennant to the Cubs. Well, they lost the pennant to the Cubs. I don't know who it doesn't I I don't know who they're playing. So anyway. All right. Hey, ⁓ this week in history nineteen seventy one. ⁓ this week in birthdays. David Vetter, not Eddie's brother or cousin. It's your birthday. ⁓ 1908. Cubs win. Cubs win. Also known as Bubble Boy this week in 1971. Yeah, he spent most of his life inside a protective bubble due to a severe immune deficiency. The film The Boy in the Plastic Bubble, starring John Travolta in nineteen seventy-six. ⁓ the only treatment at the time was a bone marrow transplant or complete isolation from germs. At age twelve, twelve years old, Vetter was finally able to receive a bone marrow transplant from his sister. The transplant did work, however, shortly after ⁓ he became ill with mononucleosis and died from a lim lymphoma. ⁓ the autopsy actually revealed that a sister's bone marrow contained traces of a dormant virus that that ended up. So yeah. Pretty much. Wow. Yeah. That's what Do you guys remember that movie? Yeah, I do. ⁓ yeah. So sad. With the boy in the bubble? ⁓ yeah. The boy in the puzzle. I've never seen it. No, you don't want to see it. It's depressing as shit. It is depressing. Seventeen movies and that's one of them. But wasn't that like an eighties? ⁓ Seventy six. Starring John Timolti. The movie was seventy six. Was it that old? Yeah, that's what he said. Yeah. Wow. So it would have been nine. You guys would have been like Well, you didn't have to see it the year it came out, probably. You might have seen it on tape or something five years later. Netflix, maybe. Netflix two years old. Yeah, probably. Tom was Netflix and chilling. So David Vetter, this kid, this kid in the story was five years old at the time and they make him made a move inspired. ⁓ 'cause it was like a teenage kid in the movie, wasn't it? Yeah. Inspired by the lives of him and Ted Davita, who lived most of his life in a sterile hospital room. Crazy. Wow. Anyway. ⁓ this weekend history nineteen. Feed ⁓ dirt. Dirt. Okay. That's weird. No, it's really not. That's how kids Or chicken livers. That's ⁓ with cocktail sauce. Yeah. John cocktail sauce. Immune systems were compromised. Muses. What? Immune systems. Immune systems are born that way. Kids d kids gotta get charged. The child was born that way. And then pink. Yeah, we talked about ⁓ nineteen eighty. Nineteen eighty, nineteen eighty. the first Whole Foods store opens in Austin, Texas. Really? Whole Foods? Nineteen eighty. I didn't know they'd been around that long. Austin, Texas. I like how you do this every week and one of us, if not multiple, every week are like You for real. Really? No shit. Ten thousand five hundred square feet. ⁓ they had nineteen employees. ⁓ sadly, May of nineteen eighty one, a flood caused the uninsured store four hundred thousand dollars worth of damage. Whoops. Oopsie. ⁓ Four hundred K back then is a massive. You're currently in ⁓ forty-five states, five hundred seventy. Four stores according to and still paying off that four hundred K loan. Aren't they aren't they part of Amazon? ⁓ Amazon recently purchased them, yes. That's what I thought. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, because I So anyway. ⁓ whole bunch of other stuff ⁓ this week, like ⁓ movies and TV shows, bunch or bunch of TV shows started this week. September. What happened forty nine years ago, Link? Rocky Horror Picture Show. Nineteen seventy five. You guys ever seen that movie? No, yeah, really. A couple times. No. The Brady Bunch, nineteen sixty nine. Wow. Gilligan's Island, nineteen sixty four. I did like Mr. Gilligan's Island. ⁓ yeah. And ⁓ loved the Gilligans. Nineteen sixty two, the Beverly Hillbillies. Also like that show. Also like the Hillbillies. Like that show. So in in ⁓ looking at ⁓ the Gilligan's Island thing, I realized ⁓ did you No No no no. No, for real. His f his first name. Bob. So Gilligan was not nah that's his real first name. His character's first name. Lil Buddy? No. No. What was it? No. Ebenezer. So they never used it in the show. But in this ⁓ on a ⁓ in the like the marketing posters and stuff like that. Yeah. Willie. Willy Willy Willy Gilligan. Nice. But they never said it in the show. Just Gilligan. I didn't realize Gilligan was his last name. I thought Gilligan was his first. Yeah, I just thought it was his name. Yeah. Yeah. So he called him by Yeah, I don't kinda weird. Weird. ⁓ teachers do that. They all call each other by their last name. Yeah. They call students by their last name too. But he was a skipper though, and first mate. He wasn't a teacher. Professor, he might have been a He was a boss. He was the boss. So professor was basically. Boss calls me by my last name all the time, even when he pronounces it wrong. Which one? I I think I think Or Mrs. Howe. I I think tag demon Mrs. Howe. Or Mr. Howell. I mean if you're into that. Upside down pineapple. I think the professor was into ginger. Yeah. In more ways than In more more than yeah. ⁓ he I think he actually was into Gilligan. No. If you ask me. I mean, some of those some of those episodes I'm like Do you think he made him a butt plug in a box for Christmas? Probably. He's taking a little bit too much interest in He probably sat in the corner. A lot. Hey, this weekend issue. 2010, Jimmy Hesselden, the British entrepreneur who had just bought the Segway Company backs off a cliff while writing an off road version of the Segway and dies. There is there's allegedly video of that on YouTube somewhere. Yeah. Oopsie. Yeah. What happened to Segways? ⁓ that that remember how they were going to take over and everybody was gonna be Yeah, matter of fact, the company is bigger because now they've got scooters and all kinds of stuff. So they moved into the other things outside of those death machines. All the college kids that come around in the in the summer selling me shit. Yeah, they all are on Segway. Yeah. Yeah. They're still around just doing different stuff. Anyway, that's just we can. Hang on. You l you left out forty nine years ago. Four years ago. ⁓ forty nine. Forty nine. Fonzy jumped the shark. ⁓ shit. Right. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Wow. Sorry. I was talking about T V shows. I did see that. I know I even sent it to you. I forgot to write it down. That's the term. That's the term. Yeah. Jumping the shark. When the show should have their ship. Loses its luster. Yeah. So what episode did we jump the shark? Was that Like five or six. Two? Maybe three. Maybe three. Six or seven, maybe. I don't know. Now Jeff has news you can use. Weird, kind of weird news. This is kind of weird, but not really. I didn't find anything interesting, but I found this interesting. Okay. Nike, the shoe company. There was some controversy about them with their new Converse ad. They own Converse. So they came out with an ad. I don't know if you guys saw it or not. Everybody said it was racial, this that and the other. So I did a little dive on Nike. Nike was one of the most prominent, not just shoe companies, companies in the world ten years ago. Yeah. Yeah. Top top what what what's the NASDAQ top one hundred? ⁓ Fort Fortune fifty's top fifty companies. So they've they've been there for quite some time. Nike has lost about seventy nine percent of its stock value since its November twenty four. 2021 peak erasing $200 billion. What the hell is a commercial in market capitalization? The share price went from $179 at tops tonight right to right now, it's down around $37,38. By Nike. That's incredible. I mean that that fall off is absolutely incredible. That's not because of commercial. He's saying he said since 2020. Since twenty twenty one. Yeah. When they when they did the whole Kaepernick thing. ⁓ They supported the Kaepernick thing and then there were some other ⁓ shit that they supported and got behind. And and I the Converse thing, when I when I saw that a couple days ago, I knew Nike bought them some time ago. And I I go, let me see what what Nike's doing. I I don't follow it, I don't buy their products, I don't you know, any of that. That that is amazing. Two hundred billion dollars of lost Capitalization. That's a shit ton. What was the commercial though? What's that? What was the commercial? The fact that why was it racist? The fact of supporting ⁓ Kaepernick. Remember when he he's saying the Converse commercial. You gotta look at it. You gotta you gotta see it. It's a visualization thing. I gotcha. Okay, it's a visualization. Here here's here's my thing. The fact that they lost two hundred billion in capitalization And they didn't go out of business. And they're still in in business. just thought it was Wait, I think they were one of the original or or cutting edge of making stuff for sweatshopping it. Yeah. They were overseas for three dollars and selling it for a hundred dollars. I mean they came to prominence with Oregon Track. Yeah. And then they the waffle soul and then they just Jordan. Well then they jumped on Jordan. And that's where it just Jordan took him to a completely different level. Yeah, just rocketed. Yeah. But I I don't know. At some point it seems like there's a ceiling for that stuff, right? I mean, how many Apparently 2021. Yeah. Yeah. No, I mean the how many their shoes aren't getting any cheaper though. How many kids ⁓ in in in markets that they're in, and I I've seen it with Coach, there's there's much kids that can afford two hundred dollars a pair of shoes somehow ⁓ in a foam, but other stuff they can't seem to Yeah, afford shake money for. What interesting. I mean you remember the days, I don't know, twenty years ago when kids were killing kids over the the Air Jordans that they were wearing. I mean they were literally beating the shit out of each other, sealing each other's red and red and black. I don't know what version of Air Jordan. There's forty different versions of it. The girl had all kinds of different Nikes that were all way over pr and they were all the retro styles that were out when we were kids. Uh-huh. And they weren't Jordans. They were just regular Nikes. And I'm like, Well, we had those when I was in school and they were like thirty five dollars. Now they're a hundred and twenty five to a hundred and fifty. I'm like, Okay, whatever. The parachute pant version of the Nike shoe topic. No, kinda. He brings it. That's his vision quest. I always wore reboxed. I haven't mentioned vision quest if you ever reboxed on my parachute case because I had red ones and I had black ones. I was converse. Anyhow. But they had to be ⁓ oldest. I wish I would have got the rush shipping on that scale so we could be weighing in right now still talking to this bullshit. I I don't want I don't want it the I don't want the logo to be any color. I was just like the the it was almost like just white or gray felt. You know what I'm saying? Yep. Like to yeah, just like the neutralish shoes. The neutral I don't want no color. White leather tender shoes with a grey. So Jordan, in that the black logo, the bla that was a big change. That shoe now had a third color to it. It wasn't it wasn't just That's a good movie. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Huh. Anyhow. Colors? The color yellow. ⁓ That was a good movie too. Is that the movie you're talking about? Colors? No. ⁓ I I think that's a good movie, actually. No, I was talking about the Michael Jordan Nike Nike movie. I don't even know what it's called. I haven't seen it. I don't either, but that's the one with what's his name? I can picture him, but I can't. Michael. No. Denzel. Shitt. Morgan Freeman. The other guy. The guy that was the salesperson, the sales guy. Brad Pitt. Damon. Matt Damon. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Okay, there you go. No, I d I I kinda did. It does it does it. We're good. I know. Because they're both from Boston. No, because they're always allegedly butts. Anyhow, so football happened over the weekend. I ⁓ didn't watch any college football hardly at all. Can can I start before we just be right the Colts? Yes, I know you guys are gonna talk the Colts. Geez O'Pete. That was miserable. I think I use in trouble, man. Why? No, they're de I get the record. I understand they've they played a bunch of of ⁓ underman teams. Hell one's FBS, right? ⁓ so or FCS, sorry. defense just isn't anywhere close to what it was last year. They're gonna give up some points and ⁓ that game could have easily been a seven seven game at half. ⁓ they got a pick inside the opponent's twenty. ⁓ gave up several sustained drives. Just same. So you think that's why they're fourth? They dropped. I think fourth. This is this is crazy. IU fan like bitching about his teams now won three three games in a row this year, right? That was a that was two years worth of wins going back a ⁓ a handful of years ago. Well, but a lot of other teams that that happens to, they'll they'll sit there and go, Well, of course we won. And they're not objective like that. I th the expectation has has changed so much. You think? And what it But still I go back to it it's amazing that I even see IU on a top ten a list anywhere. Yeah. Right. It that part is is still a little bit crazy to me. Hoover Hoover missed a couple passes that were touchdown. Whatever. He was still eighteen of nineteen. I get it. But if you watch the game I think Micha I I did watch I did watch most of the game. Michigan State is an improved team. They didn't play Michigan State. No. No, they played Michigan State played Notre Dame. Yeah. Jesus. ⁓ yeah. Yeah. He did watch ⁓ it. Anyway. Good night. Anyway. We we can talk close. I'm just saying I I use Gus got some work to do. I I think it it's it's I see what you're saying. It's it's it will be good to see Signeti ⁓ you know, kind of part of me is one of kind of develop that group. If it doesn't change as the competition improves. Because they didn't start out. I I know. Think think about the beginning of last season. They started the same way. About the same way. You're like, ⁓ okay. You know they're winning. And I mean they gave up points last year, right? When the competition got stiff, they just won the games. The only difference is now no, their defense was very, very good last year. Yeah. But the difference is now they're ranked in the top five. Five. Last year they were they started out twenty one ish. I mean they were they were in no pressure, no no expectations, blah blah blah. So If they won a game but kind of looked a little ugly, you're like, Yeah. Yeah, at least they won. But now now we're like, expectations change once you win a national championship. Yeah, th things are different. It all goes different. But then complacency set in also with that team. They're they know they're playing you know they know they're playing Rhode Island. I think teams is that not who they played this week? ⁓ I see what you're saying. No, I'm Just roll the phone. Just like when they beat Howard to death and correct. Yeah. I mean it I don't know, but I do think teams plu some teams play to the level of competition too. You know, not everybody goes in like Miami and steamrolls just seventy-seven to nothing or whatever that stupid game was. Oregon had an eighty four to nothing as well. Ohio State, I think, completely rolls over. Ball State. Ball State this post. We're getting our weeks mixed up. Yeah, it doesn't matter. Anyhow, but Maybe maybe they're just playing to the competition. I don't know. Maybe maybe. Maybe not. We you won't know until they play somebody. Somebody the who they have this week. Gets interesting. ⁓ Northwestern ⁓ t Friday night. Which they beat up on Colorado. ⁓ yeah. Northwestern beat the shit out of shit out of Colorado. See where Colorado was talking smack going at stage. Did you see what Dion did? ⁓ kicked her ass. Got rid of got rid of two or three of the players that were laughing. Good. When they were going so he was walking behind the players going into the locker room at the end of the game and these three or four players yucking it up, laughing, you know, after they got beat. Making fun of the stadium and the players. Good on him. But you're still getting paid. Those kids still got paid to play that game, right? I well the the ones laughing maybe did or didn't I I think that that's where the coaching part is gonna continue to evolve to be so tough because in a lot of cases these kids are making more than the assistant coaches. I think head coaches probably not, but i in a few cases maybe, but yeah, I don't know. And ⁓ Dion, you have he was the talk for a year and a half and then Yep. There's I haven't heard a word about it. Well si Signetis kinda took his place. Right. I think a little bit in the Well again, expectations though. Yeah. I mean going into it. Once he died. Everybody thought, ⁓ he's gonna go to Colorado and he's gonna start winning. He's gonna turn around that program like he turned around the other program. They spent two years trying to sell that. Honestly. Yeah. For sure. That's and then here he comes in does. Yeah, I know. Yeah puts eyeballs on it. Expectations. Yeah. I mean and then they start out that one season five and ⁓ and you better fucking six games or something. Yeah. That's the largest bet I ever made. I was like, ⁓ this is gonna be easy. This is easy money. I was gonna double my money. Hell yeah. Damn it, betting. Yeah. ⁓ geez, speaking of that. He will be Florida State's next head coach, I think. That makes sense to me. I think they're gonna get rid of Norvell down there. That makes sense. Yeah. ⁓ speaking of betting, Linko, ⁓ how was your your betting weekend? ⁓ not good. Not good. I finally put some money in my in my account on going into ⁓ my gosh, going into Thursday night football. ⁓ yeah. Like I had no money in my account. I hadn't bet anything. How much did you jump in? Like twenty five bucks. Okay. But but the first time. Did it last you till no get you through the weekend? No. No. Did it get you through Thursday? Barely got me through Saturday morning. Wow. ⁓ I went into S Saturday I had to put I took twenty twenty more in. I still have that. I'm st I'm playing on that. But yeah. I'd be playing all a little bit longer if the effing team we root for in the NFL. I c I forget their name right now. It's on the tip of my tongue, but they were blue. What was your bet that they ⁓ jogged you? ⁓ it was the minus six got me. Yeah. 'Cause I had a couple punches. Yeah, Chiefs minus Yeah. ⁓ I I'd ⁓ I'd a ⁓ Couple of things that came, you know, so many yards and s touchdown passes by Mahomes and blah blah blah blah blah. He had said yes, that happened, that happened, that happened. Come on, Chiefs. I mean score again. But honestly, I found myself on the couch. The Colts are gonna give you plenty of opportunity. No, no, no, no. Yes. I was rooting against my money. ⁓ absolutely. I was rooting for the Colts. ⁓ yeah. I was like, I don't care what happens. I want the Colts to effing win this game. Right. And when they didn't, then I looked at my bets. I'm like, son of a Now I'm ultra mad. Now I'm ultra mad because I'm like, if you would have just d just played like you did the week before. My team lost the week before against Baltimore and just get your ass kicked, then I would have so much easier. So much easier. This loss I could have taken it a little bit easier, but instead I'm like, I lost and I lost fifteen dollars in bets. Yeah. I mean, whatever. So you guys chimed in early on the group tech something about Mahomes, there's ⁓ it's a pregame. They're sucking Kansas City's junk. And I'm like Holy cow, dude. I'm like Collinsworth. See you guys hate him. I'm okay with Collinsworth. I'm okay with Collinsworth. I don't mind that game though. I don't mind Collinsworth. What I don't like is his incessant Patrick Mahomes is like Jesus to him. Yes. That's what They even made fun of it in the pregame. Yes. Nikki Glazer blazed him. He's like, ⁓ something about arm. She's a sickness. Hey. Side arm. I think she's got still she got some funny stuff. I I I don't know. But still, the fact the fact that The fact and then Tariko even made a point to call it out. And Collinsworth was laughing about it. And he still did it. He still did it. Holy crap, dude. I'm I'm I was I don't really have a problem with him. I don't know. He he's okay to me. I I think his analysis is decent, but I do ag I have to agree everything every in the city game. Everything is kind of pro Chiefs. Yes. ⁓ yeah. And the way sports and commentators work, I hate this 'cause y it's a foregone conclusion the Colts are gonna lose this game. Well then the game's close and suddenly, ⁓ let's talk about Jonathan Taylor now. Yes, yes. Let's mention Tyler Warren's name in the fourth quarter, finally. Okay. I think Tarico even did a nice job of going, Man, J T, the league because they're not on ac actually might have been Collinsworth that said that. He said because the Colts aren't on prime time, they haven't been Lately in a year and a half. He's like, don't appreciate him. Don't appreciate this guy and the league isn't promoting him. He's he's a stud. And I hate to say this, the Colts need to trade him, get some draft picks for him and You're gonna trade him with the best player. Yes. That's what I'm saying. ⁓ You trade him for draft picks. You gotta trade him for picks. Who's gonna give that to you? They but somebody will somebody in contention. We gave we gave it to somebody. Somebody in contention. Somebody that needs a running back. Yeah. The running back goes down, gets injured. They're like, ⁓ shit, we can get J T. Hell yeah. Yeah. Or you've got a older running back that may be retiring soon or and our team is stacked right now anyway. What do we need first round or second round draft pick for next year? Let's give ⁓ up. Yep. I don't know. It's all about the moment. Yep. And he and leverage. He could help he could absolutely help a team. Colts will not get a number one draft pick for ⁓ I don't care if they try to trade him tomorrow, because the Colts have Zero effing leverage in anything they do, and they haven't in the last half values in the eye of the beholder. I mean it it just matters if somebody needs that. We just gave up two draft picks for a dude, a defensive back that absolutely sucks. He's a Nobody's throwing his way. For two number one draft picks. I agree. He better standing on his head out. We overpaid snow. We overpayed. Hey, the bul the Baltimore game ⁓ according to Blocky, two passes, only two passes went his way. They don't throw it. They don't throw it. And one and one, he defended the one and the other one was caught for twelve yards. So his duty twelve yards. You've got those two choices. I don't know what happened this past game. You're gonna go to the lesser of the two every time. So the threat is there. You know, the guy on the other side just needs to get better. That's that's what that's about. Remind me again who the guy is on the sidelines. It's Sau Scott. Yeah. ⁓ the other guy. Other guy. Sorry. The other guy. I think you're missing the point here. How hot did my girl look on the sidelines? In that blue, yeah, blue and blue tinted glasses. She didn't trim her eyebrows for you. Well, I think those are permanent, dude. I think she needs to keep the sunglasses on. Because the sunglasses hide the ⁓ the painted on eyebrows. You think they're tattoos? You think they're tattooed on? Maybe. They're very permanent. They're very easy to hold on to, is all I'm saying. Give you a couple handles. Yeah. That's nice. Are they braided? I No. I funny mask though. There is there is a part of her that anyway Link, sorry. Did you have something there? No. So let's let's get in the game here real quick and and and we can go all through it. You know, the Colts, ⁓ they they played great that game. ⁓ really? They gave up five hundred fucking yards of offense again. Back to back, back to back games for the first time ever in Baltimore Colts or Indianapolis Colts. I think it's a multi effort. I think it's an NFL record. NFL NFL record. I I didn't hear that. I just knew it was a I knew it was a Colts record. Yeah, I heard it was an NFL record. Shane Steichen, I'm done with him. That fucking he gets the gift handed to him in overtime. And it wasn't a gift, it was the absolute right call. It was the right call. It was the absolute right call. It was, but that's a that's his in Kansas City. Yeah. How many times did it be? The Colts got multiple calls that I'm like, well, that's not gonna hold up. Yeah. Yep. Yeah. First down from the sep seventeen, eighteen, is that what it was? I don't I went to bed. Going in and overtime. Going in and overtime. Everybody in the fucking stadium and Shay and I were sitting there watching and I go, They're gonna hand off to Jonathan Taylor. Watch. And they did, and they got stuffed and lost two yards. How about little play action there? Maybe, maybe throw for the end zone. Maybe. Just maybe. And then and then if that doesn't work, then maybe run it twice. If if we're doing the if game, what if your boy just catches that ball clean? He's in the end zone. Yeah. Yeah. I think so. He didn't catch it clean. Yeah, I knew that. Yeah, he bobbled. Yeah, obviously. Yeah, and but I mean the pass was right there. He just catches that, he's he's in the end zone. Mm-hmm. But the biggest problem I have with the game. Is the field goal in overtime. Mm-hmm. Now you put yourself in that position. So you you're fourth and eight. You kick a field goal to tie it, right? Mm-hmm. You give them what? Three thirty. Yeah, twelve. You you give Mahomes cooking and and the chief's office. And their k their kickers can hit from sixty as any almost anybody can now. Seventy. Yeah. He's the best kicker in the world. J just go just go. I would rather have seen a go for the fourth and eight. Me too. I also would have rather seen different play calling leading up to that. I'm not I'm not gonna disagree with that at all. But for it. For a guy that is like ⁓ always goes for it on fourth down certain situations, you're like What are we doing? Why are you backing off that one? Well so Yeah. Go play play to win this game. It wasn't like it's fourth and fifty. Yeah. So here's what this asset Okay here's what you play to win the game. Here's what the coach said after in the postgame conference. We thought we'd get the ball there after that, after that penalty, that we got the ball in the 17 yard line, and we would run the clock out, kick a field goal or or score a touchdown to a win or tie the and not give them the ball back. Let's think about this for a second. When that Penalty was committed and you got the ball at 17. There were four minutes and 30 seconds left on the car. You're not running nut up. Kansas City had three timeouts left. You weren't fucking so don't sit here and fucking lie to us that that was your goal was to run. Like he he's that whole organization is in and has been in deep shit. Yeah. And it's a spiral. Just going down the toilet. And most coaches remember specific like weird things that I think average fan does it. Well, the only reason we're in that fourth and eight because we had that false start or whatever, and that ran thirty seconds. For you not to recall a critical game situation like that as a dude c come on, that's a joke. They live in a puss pussy ⁓ press where they're not gonna challenge him because w we They should. They should. But they don't. They the the press doesn't go now hold hold on a second here, coach. ⁓ you got that ball with Yeah, but I don't know. Then coaches are assholes. They're like I I'm not gonna answer that next question or but at least present the question to Or they'll be social they'll be a complete clown and go, okay, well what would you have done in that situation? Well I'm not paid to know that. I'm paid to write about what you are doing. And what you are doing sucks. It's the way yeah. I mean it is. It's it's it's it's a joke. And and and then that dude probably gets kicked out of the next pressure. He doesn't get to the next press conference. So be it. What? And then he writes about that though. Yeah. I mean that's so he's he's got the last the last word. Link Link had a good point about this overtime situation. ⁓ yeah. So flipping the coin and the bean, you you win, you go, hey, no, we don't we don't we defer. Defer basically. So which two schools of thought I guess is you go, ⁓ okay, well they're gonna get one possession, we're gonna get one possession, then the game is is gonna be over. Or If it plays out for the ten minute period, then you defer according to kinda sort of normal game flow. Yeah. You're potentially giving them the ball two times and you only give it one time. Which is exactly what happened. And I our boy Collinsworth even made that point. He did call it, yeah. Early early in the ⁓ He did the overtime. He actually said he's like, Well, now you give Mahomes a chance to potentially have have the ball twice. I'm like ⁓ crap. Yeah. So at the beginning of the game they won the toss and took the ball because they did the week before. Right. Yeah. Right. Yeah, Black Blocky even said he was like, What why what are you doing? You always defer to the second half. Always, always, always, always. I I don't agree with that. I I didn't re I d I kinda argued the point too. I was like, Well, last week they okay. It was the best they looked all game. They took the ball. Took the opening kick off kickoff, drove right down the field and scored. Like, ⁓ shit, this is gonna be a good year. Yep. Gonna be a good game. Okay. ⁓ and they did the ex I mean they well they kicked. They drove right down. They drove right down the field. They scored. Yeah. They drove right down the field. Taylor scored a touchdown. Again. On that first draft. That's two weeks in a row then. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah. So I'm like, hey, no. I mean, you get your offense out there, put points on the board. And so anyway, I don't his yeah. Blackie was like, no. I'd I'd rather have the ball in the second half. And and part of me is like, what the hell's the difference? Yeah, why does matter? That's not always a guarantee though. Not always a guarantee. You're gonna have the ball to end the half. Right. And and get it at the start of the second half. I would love to know what that percentage is. Well yeah, but it's not guarantee though. No, it's not it's not a guarantee. No, and that's that's where I think guaranteed the ball. There's a ch there's a challenging that's the driving factor in making that decision. In overtime of ridiculous decision. I think the only way that plays out positive if you get like a three and out, and then all you have to do is kick a field goal. Kick a field goal. That's that's the that's the choice. The only other thing is you see what the other team does. Yep. So yeah. Yeah. Whether they score a touchdown or kick a field goal. It's like playing your cards last Now I know what we have to do. But Here's my thing, though. You had to score a touchdown. Go out to go go out and do the best you can do anyway. It doesn't matter. Yeah. Just go if you can score a touchdown, go score. But if you can't, then kick a field goal and go, okay, now our defense has to play defense. Either way, do your fucking best and who who cares? I don't know. I ⁓ yeah. I I thought they were I don't get paid millions of dollars to make these decisions. Yeah, I they were competitive with what's gonna be a a a top sixteen. Probably, right? Yeah. Actually I get paid no dollars to make ⁓ the second I get second second guess second guess every I lose money. I lose money doing that. As I do. I okay, you could say that and they did play their offense played great. Their fucking defense again is horrendous. Absolutely horrendous. It's like Peyton Manning here. ⁓ it's worth I think it's that defense was pretty rough. It could be a condescender, but they're th this defen they they They don't know, have no idea what they're doing. They have no idea. So they talked about that a little bit that and you mentioned this last week. I didn't totally understand it. The safety with the green dot was two weeks ago. ⁓ yeah. So now they moved that now they moved it to the linebacker. How good was our linebacker play this this week? And that that it helped their defense a little bit 'cause the linebacker is closer to the line of scrimmage, calling out plays. Better communication. I've never heard of a safety being quarterback Lou Ember he did it at Cincinnati and he had a badass safety and I can't remember the dude's name. ⁓ but our linebacking core is yeah non existent. They're bad it's a it's gonna be a long ride man. Yes. They a long ride. It's so frustrated. But is it is it the players or is it the coaching? It's well let's start with the GM. Let's start with the GM Yeah. Who's picking these players? Who sat there when he drafted La Tu La Two two years ago or three years ago, the dude with the fucked up neck from UCLA, and he leaned back in his fat ass back in the chair and he goes, Ha ha ha The On camera. ⁓ we just got the best fucking fuck he said best fucking defensive player in this draft at ten or nine or whatever. Well, that's the ego of that position, right? But that's that's been him for ten fucking years, Brett. I I I get it. The fact he saw his job is crazy. It's nuts. I'm sorry, I'm I'm No, no, I you're emotional as a fan as a fan is frustrating. Could you imagine being a Colts fan and a Purdue football fan? No, you and the P it'd be worse to be a Browns fan. Browns won this past weekend. Browns just won. I know. Browns just won. Browns won. Historically historically, though. Being a Browns fan is a tough gig. But we're not Browns fan. I know. I know. But the Browns did win this past weekend. Imagine the feeling. We haven't won a game in nine games. Nine games. And but pretty good. We're pretty good week one of the season. Yeah. One and twelve in the last thirteen years. Yeah. Is that good? Yeah. That's e that even goes back to the Andy Luck era. D didn't somebody he's pretty good. Didn't somebody tell me that Steichen said that w when we look at our record, we don't go back to last year, so technically we're we're only two. Yeah. Well would wouldn't you say that if you were No, I would not. If you're just no I would not say that out loud. I would not say that out loud anywhere at any time. I would joke about it behind closed doors in my own house. Maybe at home. Well, you know, dear, before we eat breakfast, we technically are only ⁓ and two of this. I used to give you six inches and now you only get three and a half. Yeah. Because Carly took the other three. Yeah. And put them in reverse. Hey, ⁓ Something that kind of bugged me a little bit. Okay. I saw Caleb Williams go down. Yep. I'm like, ⁓ shit, that sucks. He's out for the year. That sucks, right? Yeah. He got shot. I'm pretty sure he got shot on that field. The memes have killed me. ⁓ the ⁓ that's why. The memes have been out of control. That's why you're laughing. He gets he gets carted off. Yes. He's right like You would have thought. Rolling rolling on the ground. I'm like, ⁓ man, he Tibia or something snapped, right? Achilles. Something. Something serious. Hamstring. Yeah, it's a series. Grade one. Is sore. Grade one. Yeah, it's sore. He j just tweaked it a touch. He probably plays this weekend. Yes. He's slated to play. They carted him off, dude. I know they did. I I saw I was watching that game. The dude was crying. Yes. Screaming on the f on the on the playing circle. He pulled a fucking hammy. Great ⁓ I guarantee you the age we're at, we have done worse getting out of bed. Like, ⁓ man. Standing up off the man. I I'm not sure I can go to work. But you know what? I have to. I'm gonna nut it up. I'm not getting current wife to get a golf cart and and take me the hot what a There was a meme. And that's your that's your franchise dude? There was a meme where he's Caleb's ⁓ sitting in a wheelchair and Jackson Dart standing next to him and he's like, Look, it's a giant vagina I'm not a vagina. Wow, what a big vagina. People kept coming walking up to him. He's a giant vagina. Jackson Dart looked like he got his knee taken off. And he walked off. And he's out for the season. He's out for the year. Just Jane Dane. He's gonna get surgery. Dislocate his same elbow again. Dude. That's that's not good. These injuries are I They're out of control. Well, I mean they they are, but Well, two two of them were non contact. Yeah. Yeah. ⁓ Jaden Daniels and and Caleb Williams. Yep. I mean Ja Jaden I mean he's he posted his arm. That's all he said. Yeah, I mean he put he put his arm down on the on the ground. I mean it's it's contact with the ground. Sorry sorry, not a player contact. Correct. Did he trip over something? He he He was like stumbling. Well there he was stumbling backwards. I think he tripped over something or something. Yeah, by no contact. I mean he wasn't tackled in in somebody fell on his leg. Yeah, but his yeah, his arm his arm hit the ground and it dislocated So I think I Caleb Williams is just running. Just run. That was it. Saw that. It I yeah. So and in the replay it looked like You thought he died. It looked like his foot was dragging and I thought same thing. It was like ⁓ shit. That's his Achilles. Yep. ⁓ Because he took one step and his and his foot kind of drug and I was and that was the leg he was grabbing. I was like, ⁓ shit Yeah, he's he's done deep for the state. Well don't remember that That's fair. A hundred percent. Don't you remember when he played for USC? I think it may have been against Notre Dame, and he got beat that game and he was in the stands crying and laying on his mom's Do you remember that. Sorry, laying on his mom's what? Arms. He was crying his eyes out after losing again. The team is, you know, walking off field, whatever you say there. Just just Google that from from US C out. Yeah. But I don't know. I is it different than the than the AR helmet tap? I mean really at the end of the day. Not a lot. Maybe a little bit more justified because maybe he didn't know the extent of the injury. Maybe. But you're a professional athlete. You're a professional athlete. You know you know a pulled hammy. Or you would think you do. Or you know a pulled train for sure. You absolutely do. Kurt Warner had the same dislocated elbow sit ⁓ thing as Jaden whatever his name is, Jaden Daniels. He played next week. Put a brace on 'cause it's his non throwing arm. It's his left arm that got dislocated. It's his non throwing arm. Could could be a different injury, though. You never know. I d dislocation gets complicated. It it's not like a break is an easier thing because it's but you broke your broke your leg. Dislocation is your tendons muscles aren't strong enough to hold the two bones together, right? Correct? ⁓ it pops it pops out, yes. Yeah. But that would be a good time to have Kylie on. But the she she'll get there. She actually she probably can listen to this go you guys are dicks. You guys are asses. Dumbasses. What what do you think about the injury conversation? We're dicks anyway. So yeah, but there's different levels of of ⁓ dictum ⁓ of dislocation. Yeah. Yeah. Did it pop out and come right back in? Did it stay out? Whatever. But I I'm just the ⁓ overreaction. Yeah, the cable book. Is it that age group? Like is like is AR is AR five. No, is AR five and Caleb about the same age? Jackson Dart. He wanted back in the game. He wanted to go back in. He wanted to game. That's one example. That's one yeah. Yeah, I know. ⁓ we're six seven in that. I think it's I think it's a wide span. I think he's going Eagles. He's going Eagles. I think you've got I think you've got plenty of Caleb Williams's And I think you've got plenty of Jackson darts. But at the end of the day, you are playing the most brutal contact sport. There is. And you've played it probably since you were a pretty small kid. Probably you've six or like not a joke. You've been hit, you've been hurt, you've been knocked around a lot. And I just find it hard to believe. Well, maybe not. You're right, maybe not. But I find it hard to believe when you get to this level, you don't just start to have a sense of of how bad it how how bad how it feels. Because it's your body it's your body, you've been playing with it your whole life. That might be the most accurate thing you've ever said on this podcast. Wow. But no, I mean you've been playing with your body your whole life. Well, that too. But Well, no, I didn't start till twenty something. But but you just it's you know what you know what's when something's wrong. Just like when When something happens to y to us, sure. You know, old old guys sitting around and something happens you'll be like jump out of bed. You're like, ⁓ yeah, wow, that maybe I should go to the emergency room for that, but that now that'll be gone in a couple days. Yeah, I'll just So but I and I just can't imagine being a professional athlete and not knowing that about your own body. So that that's just kind of my thought. Agree generationally where you're getting in. ⁓ so Kobe also blew out his Achilles. I don't know if you've seen the video of this. It's worth a watch on YouTube. The son of a bitch got f fouled. Right. Blew out his Achilles. Went and shot his free throws. Walked off the court. Yeah. Well they show Ben Rothesberger absolutely destroying his I think it was his ankle. ⁓ I thought you were gonna say that girl in the bar. Well that was wild. In Oxford, Ohio, Miami University. There was that. And they show him well I mean ⁓ remember was it Byron Leftwich that played Leftwich. Played for the Jaguars. He had a nasty. And and his teammates were Carrying him. Fireman carrying him down the field. That was ⁓ that was in college at Marshall, I believe. No, I thought it was at Far. ⁓ we are. We are also good movie. Matthew McConaughey. Yep. He didn't know. All right, all right, all right. All right, all right, all right. Huh. Dude, connect dudes. Right all right. No way. I like Matthew McConaughey. I don't. He doesn't need You don't like seeing him on the sidelines of Texas games? No. Just no. Who cares? Who cares? Again and again. So ⁓ I wasn't even gonna bring this up. It just popped in my head. Uh-oh. I like Taylor. We're not gonna get to Jeff's mini topics. Who's getting Taylor's boxes? And allegedly she even told ⁓ she even told NBC or whoever, ESPN, to ple not show her on the camera. That's what Jeff said. Thank goodness. Thank goodness she told them that 'cause they only showed her about, I don't know, fifteen times throughout the game. But that's but that that that's not on her. That's on that's on the T V people. So ⁓ I guess that shirt she was wearing the I saw that that their sales went through the roof. Of course it did. Why wouldn't it? But but then the whole whole you know that work pointing at the ring thing. Yeah. That's my you know, point that's my husband. That's what I don't dislike that on all I don't either. She's a fancy. Come on, I know. I I think so I like if you were out there scoring touchdowns, Nance would be up in a box going That's my husband. Yeah. ⁓ do you think she would do that or she would she point at the plug? Maybe. I don't know. But she would she'd definitely have Tom Creek as a box up there with it. Here they they would I've said show they wouldn't show her fifteen times a game. I've said this before. I would much rather see her than Jerry Jones. Yes. Robert Kraft, who they show them a lot. A lot. They show Jerry ⁓ he might as well be offensive coordinator as much as they show. Or Al Davis's son. Well but if if the if it's not that, then they're just scanning the crowd for celebrities that are at the game. And then if it's not that, it is fans, usually. Hang on. I I'm gonna argue this. She seems like she's ⁓ extreme fan. She Like honest, she is into the game. Well her her husband's of course is still a very good tight end. She's gotta know the game. She's gotta know Yes, I absolutely after this season you won't have to worry about it. Yeah. They show plenty of people in those luxury boxes. Nothing they're not cheery. They don't care. They're they're just there. Yeah. Yeah. To get to get on camera. Free drinks, free food. And and when she's in there with ⁓ her brother in law's just there for a good time. Not a huge fan of his, like I'm like, whatever. I'm I'm a little bit over the the Kelsey thing. Yeah. Just in general. Yeah. But ⁓ but they are I kinda like I'm okay with them being on camera. I like Jason Kelsey. What's wrong with him? Jason better than Travis, but No, I don't. I was just saying that 'cause that's kind of what he said about Taylor. So no, that's your opinion. I'm not gonna go the complete opposite on the next thing just because I think I think J Jason Kelsey would be fun to have beers with, to be honest. I think he'd be maybe, but leave us leave his frickin' wife at home. Those commercials with her saying Sunday ticket We have all the games on. They are terrible. I turned the volume down so many times this weekend 'cause I fucking remember. Could you imagine being married to that? I said, Well instead of her just sitting in the kitchen bitching about all the people in the games, why don't you go out and help Jason Make a sandwich. Make a sandwich and and ice the cupcakes and ice the grass. He's doing all the fucking work. Okay. If you just stop bitching, cleaning the house, getting everything ready. Then maybe things will be okay and turn out the way you want ⁓ to. So what do you see more of on a given Sunday? The Kelsey's or Swifty? It's not even close. Kelsey's. By far. Yeah. By 'cause there's only one game that they're on commercials. That's why. Yeah, they're on all commercials of all games. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. Yeah. I just I don't get why you guys are so upset she's there cheering on her dude. I'm I'm honestly numb to it at this point. I just I roll a move on at this point. I I I can't Yeah, yeah. I just don't I just didn't she's she's the number one entertainer in the world. I mean, why would they not show her? And she's married to the Find a fan who would never in other in any other situation be on a T V camera ever. Find them, put them on camera so they can go home record have a game record and be like he's meeting. Yeah. Well, yeah, but if I'm running a network there are people watching that game. just to see her which i has probably never happened. Sure once and get it over with. But then your audience goes, right? If you know you're only showing her once. Pavlov? Yeah. ⁓ you give ⁓ the treat. When you when you ring the bell you get the bell, you don't give it to her every time. 'Cause if you do Yeah shit. We are grumpy, aren't we? I am All so come we're grumpy in early mornings. So we're a good way in, but Jeff Jeff sent out a topic ⁓ earlier today. So it can be quick. Yes. It doesn't have to be long. We don't have to go super long. It doesn't matter. Nobody cares. Nobody. Nobody listens anyway. All right. The only people that complain are Brett's family. So let's let's go. Jeff, what was your you said y many mini topic. What fan have we ever had that sent an email or taught to you any at all that our podcast goes too long? Anybody? Anybody. Okay, thanks. Handy Manny eighty seven guy. The nabs. The nab household. Nabby mannies. More people would listen if it was shorter. Because they probably ⁓ stopped listening after this this week in history. Anyhow. Sure they do. So if you had one one ban one chance, one opportunity. Anyway. what's one band that you wish you had seen, band or artist in concert that you can not see now because they're dead, broke up, whatever. Right. What's that one band? Or so my immediate response was only one. How many, yeah. So for me, Ozzie Osborne. That's that if I if I can only pick one. Ozzie Osmour. With or without the bats in the bats in his mouth. W with or without what? With or without Black Sabbath. With Black Sabbath? See or solo? That's kind of a problem because that's a pretty simple question. No, but black when Black Sabbath was Black Sabbath and big, I wasn't old enough to re understand. Appreciate it. Appreciate it. Yeah. So Would it be cool to see Black Sabbath in their original incarnation? Absolutely. Fucking amazing in in the seventies, not not as ninety year old rock stars. But yeah. Yeah. Brett hell yeah, it would be. Brett. ⁓ I think Jim Crocey, ⁓ hands down. No, ⁓ I was going with with a very specific I actually was gonna go with the dude that sang Edmund Fitzgerald there, but I couldn't think of his name. Gordon Lightfoot. Gordon Lightfoot, damn So if you could put time in a bottle. Yes, what would I do? Yeah. ⁓ It's great song by the way. No, it's not. ⁓ it's an awesome song. No, that's it actually is a good song. It is very it's not. That song sucks. I also like it, Link. That song sucks. You're on your own. Three against one. So mine is an artist, but at a dis at a specific event, because I heard it was fantastic. It was Prince, halftime show, Super Bowl, the Colts were at in the rain. The purple rain. Yes. ⁓ Only one out of care. One. I know. Linko. ⁓ I would Carpenters? No. Okay. No. Probably the mamas and the papas. Bell Biv All of them. No. Bel Biv DeVoe? For reals. ⁓ and and so here's here's the thing is I actually had an opportunity ⁓ to see this band. ⁓ no. And I forego that opportunity. ⁓ no. ⁓ So back in the day it w it was kind of a big deal ⁓ at the Indy Motor Speedway. They brought in the Rolling Stones. Yep. Yep. And I I was so jaded by working and just be being there. Just like you are tonight. Kinda. And every Wednesday pretty much. I I I was just kinda over all the events and all the shit and I just and I basically You could have gotten for free, I'm guessing. ⁓ yeah. Yeah. I mean I could've I could have worked the event that night stage maybe. And you're basic you're basically playing Fireman. I mean you're you're there just in case somebody's computer breaks. Sure. Or whatever. Because I was in the IT department at the time. So but I had an opportunity to work and the people who did work that night literally found a private place to sit, took a lawn chair and just and on kind of on top of a concession stand, but under the stands themselves and just sat and watched the show. So they weren't in the crowd, but they just sat and watched the show and I was like, I got my phone in case anything happens. So it I kind of regret You still have that poster though. I still got that poster. Poster's sick. But ⁓ I kind of regret not going to that. Yeah. ⁓ but at the time looking back, I'm like that was Fucking stupid. You could have gone and seen the Rolling Stones. I mean towards towards the end of their careers, I guess. But they were still the Rolling Stones were still the stones. And at the like I said, at the time I was just so over that place and everything about it. I I just had a bad attitude, I think. Yeah. And I just basically raised my hand. I go like, Hey, I volunteer not to work that night. ⁓ just FYS. Like, I don't want to be anywhere near this place. And my boss was like, Okay. You don't we we don't really need you if you don't want to be here then you don't have to. And I was like, Okay, then I don't So was that the beginning of the end for you No, because that was no, 'cause that was the my previous boss that I actually got along with and I liked. When did they play there? Was that That was the late nineties, wasn't it? No was it two thousand. Okay. That was a twenty ten. Gotcha. Had to be. Gotcha. We probably look it up, but yeah. Yeah. Tommy Google and Jeff Jeff, you gotta go. ⁓ cars. The cars. I wish I'd seen also on my list. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Wish I'd seen the cars. And then one band that that I did. Twenty fifteen. No, I said twenty fifteen. 'Cause I I've been gone from the speedway since twenty nineteen. So yeah. It's also July fourth. I didn't realize that. Yeah. Was it July fourth? Really? Yeah. Yep. Huh. It's what the interweb said. I know that. The Googles. And then the one concert band that I wanted to see so bad. Hang on. You said one. I know, I I know. I You only gave Tom one. No, this is the the one you wanted to see and you went and saw and you were so. Then what was the last thing you just said? The cars. Well, that's a different What is the one band that you were so pumped to see that you went and saw and you were so disappointed? ⁓ mine's easy. Very easy. Prince halftime show in the rain. At the Super Bowl. The Who halftime show at the Super Bowl. That was that sucked. That was awful. Genesis at the RCA dome. Really? Yeah. Not good? Not good because of the venue. Mm hmm. That place is a stuff. Echoey. It was t it was terrible to watch concert. They I mean they were great. Yeah. It just sounded like shit. And that's tough to get over. Yep. But yeah. Brett. Thinking I don't go to that many concerts. Mm-hmm. I'm sure it's been there, but Yeah. Yeah, I I honestly Blink hates live music, so this would be a topic. I can probably count on two hands the number of concerts. Concerts you've been to. Really? Yeah. For real. In my entire life. I could count on two hands how many concerts I wish I'd have gone to. But Probably three hands actually. Mm-hmm. What was yours, Jeff, then? You were the ⁓ the one down in ⁓ Brown County, the Dream Pla ⁓ Cheap Trick. my god. Was it bad? We we were so pumped to go see them. Small venue. Yeah. Yeah. ⁓ you talk you talked about ⁓ this. It was just so deflating. You know, I I was like, Man, this is gonna be a great show. I'm hyping it up to my brother in law and sister in law and they're they you know, obviously they know Cheap Trick. Everybody knows Cheap Trick. Everybody knows Cheap Trick. We go in there and it's just like, Are you fucking kidding me right now? Is this Which is weird. I I heard them on an interview on Howard Stern and we've talked about Howard Stern and how I how I I think he's a great interviewer. Absolutely. He can be very good. He can be. And I I heard them ⁓ I th I was like I was like, Yeah, cheap trick. Yeah, they're they're okay. I was like, ⁓ okay, I'll go ahead and listen to this. I mean, like two, two and a half hours, three hours later, I was like, Holy crap, what a great interview. Yeah. And they played some music and shit like that. I I was like, Yeah. I I was okay with him. So now they're touring with a big band. I don't know who they're opening up for, but it was just Glenn Miller. Yes. Yes, it is. I think he's dead. Are sure? Wish I'd seen him. I didn't know he was sick, Tom. So so sudden. Yeah. Anyway, Tommy. ⁓ wow, we're done. Okay. All right, here we go. Yep. ⁓ I gotta find a city. ⁓ Tell me where the city is. The this this joke, what city is this in? Drippy New Hampshire. Cheyenne. Philadelphia. Cheyenne. New Jersey. Indianola Pennsylvania. Amakley. Santa Claus, Indiana. A popka? Apopka, Florida. Who is from Amakley, Florida? Edge. Edge. Edge and James. ⁓ okay, we'll go from Amokale then. Amakley. Okay. Amakley. ⁓ by the way, hurricanes look pretty good. College folk. Yeah. Yeah. They look pretty good. I thought you were talking about hurricanes and I was ⁓ they're so fun to watch them display. Well, there hadn't been one in two years now. My favorite part's the after. So much for global warming. Go ahead. ⁓ so from Amakley, Florida. Yes. ⁓ I'm not sure what group we're offending here, but I'm sure someone will be offended. Please. That'll be This is a question that's plagued me forever. So I'm gonna phrase it as a question. ⁓ god, ready? ⁓ how is broccoli like anal sex? From lamocholi. ⁓ my god. Broccoli that's why amokley style. I don't even know I even know broccoli was in this question. I know that that's why it sticks. It worked. That's crazy. Yeah. Okay, sorry. ⁓ could you repeat the question? Yeah. Ask asking for a friend. This this is in in southern Florida only in Imogley. How is broccoli like anal sex? How is broccoli Well There's probably multiple correct answers. I'm looking for one very specific. Probably has something to do with wanting wanting to eat it. Whoa. Whoa, Tom. Did you say the smell that has something to do with the smell? There's that too. What's the anal smell? What the fuck? Well I fucking I'm going with a different show ⁓ These are all guesses from Amockley. Just saying. I mean one packs your shit and the other one releases your shit. ⁓ wow. Look at you, Doctor Jeff. Could be very a a very you can't figure out a dislocated elbow, but you could come up with that. Kylie, if we get a response on that answer, that'd be awesome. I'm I'm just going straight to the answer 'cause this is isn't gonna get any better. ⁓ you won't like it as an adult if you were forced to have it as a kid. Wow. Get some mileage out of that this week, Jeffy. I didn't know you were having a Catholic joke. I could have changed what's the difference between a priest and anal sex. I could've absolutely changed that. It's another episode of a solid four beer thoughts. Thanks for being here. We do appreciate it.
