درباره این اپیزود
After 45 years in law enforcement, Chief Gary Montecuollo has seen policing change in almost every way imaginable. But through it all, one thing has remained constant: people.
In this episode of 4-Star Conversations, Chief Montecuollo reflects on a career built not around promotions or high-profile cases, but around developing others, embracing change, and leading with humility. From the mentors who encouraged him early in his career to the leadership philosophy that has guided him as Chief of the Glendale Community College Police Department, Gary shares practical lessons that apply far beyond policing.
Along the way, he discusses the importance of leaving your ego at the door, creating a culture where every contact counts, leading people rather than managing systems, preparing future leaders through meaningful training, and why taking care of your own wellbeing is essential to serving others.
Whether you're a Chief, supervisor, or aspiring leader, this conversation is a reminder that the greatest legacy we leave is often found in the people we've helped along the way.
