John 16:33 (NKJV) reminds us, "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
In this episode, I will be discussing Hebrews 12:1–3 and what it means to “lay aside every weight” as we run the race God has set before us.
Have you ever faced a weight in your life that, from a human perspective, seemed difficult to overcome—whether it was an addiction, a difficult family dynamic, emotional trauma, unforgiveness/resentment, or something else?
God is faithful to help us through every challenge, but we must look to Jesus, draw closer to Him, and continue running the race with endurance. You don’t have to carry those burdens on your own—surrender them to Christ.
God never promised that we would avoid difficulty in this life, but He did promise that "He would never leave us nor forsake us" as Hebrews 13:5 reminds us. Keep your eyes on Jesus, lay aside what is weighing you down, and continue running the race with faith and perseverance enduring to the end.
"And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown." -1 Corinthians 9:25 NKJV
