SELLEST OSAST
Why do Christians still struggle with anxiety when the Bible tells us not to worry?
Anxiety has become one of the defining mental health struggles of our time. But does experiencing anxiety mean you lack faith? Is anxiety primarily a spiritual problem, a psychological issue, or something more complex?
Licensed mental health counselor and author Melissa Fisher joins Dr. Jeff Myers to explore anxiety, mental health, neuroscience, and faith from a biblical worldview. Melissa explains what happens in our brains and bodies when we experience anxiety, why smartphones, social media, and isolation may be making us more anxious, and why genuine human connection is essential to our well-being.
They also discuss what the Bible says about anxiety, why simply telling someone to "stop worrying" isn't enough, and where secular approaches to anxiety can fall short. Drawing from her book, Jesus for the Anxious: 8 Weeks of Practicing Peace to Calm Your Worry and Fear, Melissa explains why overcoming anxiety doesn't necessarily mean never feeling anxious again. Instead, following Jesus gives us a firm foundation for facing fear, worry, stress, and life's storms with greater wisdom, resilience, peace, and hope.
