In episode three of Truss Talks: Beyond the Fabric, host George Lawless sits down with Darren Scholl, Britespan’s Technical Services Leader, to unpack what really goes into engineering fabric buildings that perform under real-world conditions.
From wind uplift and snow loads to end wall design, hanging equipment, and clear-span layouts, this conversation dives into how engineering decisions made early in the design process directly impact safety, longevity, and installation success across agricultural, commercial, and municipal projects.
Learn how Britespan designs beyond minimum code requirements, why not all fabric buildings are engineered the same, and how site-specific factors like geography, openings, and adjacent structures influence performance. Darren also shares insight into how technical services support dealers and installers in the field to keep projects moving and avoid costly surprises.
If you’re planning a fabric building for storage, operations, or workflow efficiency, or you want to understand what separates a high-performance, code-compliant fabric structure from the rest, this episode offers practical insight into building it right from the start.
