What happens when a top cardiologist walks away from the insurance system?
In this episode, Joe K. Reid II sits down with Daniel O'Roark, DO, FACC, founder of Trinity Heart and Vascular Group, to unpack why more physicians are leaving traditional healthcare models—and what that means for patients.
They break down the real issues driving frustration in modern medicine: rushed visits, bureaucratic overload, and a system built around billing instead of care. Dr. O’Roark shares his journey into direct pay cardiology, where longer visits, better access, and true patient relationships are not the exception—they’re the standard.
This conversation goes deeper than just systems. You’ll hear how the current model impacts outcomes, why access—not insurance—is the real problem, and how a return to relationship-based care is changing everything from heart disease management to preventative health.
They also tackle bigger questions:
- Why healthcare costs keep rising while care declines
- The truth about preventative care and metabolic health
- What patients actually gain when providers have time
- And why “coverage” doesn’t always mean “care”
If you’ve ever felt rushed, overlooked, or stuck navigating the healthcare system, this episode will challenge the way you think about your options.
This isn’t how healthcare has to work.
