SELLEST OSAST
What would you do differently if you had access to more property management data, industry research, and operator insights than the average business owner?
In this episode, Marc Cunningham sits down with Peter Lohmann, owner of RL Property Management and co-founder of Crane, to explore how Peter uses analytics and an engineering mindset to make better decisions inside his property management company.
Peter shares how RL Property Management operates more than 700 doors while intentionally keeping its systems simple, limiting changes to its tech stack, and using client feedback to identify where the business needs improvement. He explains how NPS survey data uncovered a major problem with maintenance, why business owners occasionally need to override their leadership teams, and why speed of decision-making can be more valuable than waiting for the perfect answer.
Marc and Peter also discuss simplifying your tech stack, avoiding duplicated data, creating separation between the owner and the business, and why stepping away from daily operations can actually make your company stronger.
If you want to make decisions based on what the data is telling you instead of assumptions, this episode offers a practical look at running a smarter, simpler property management business.
