SELLEST OSAST
There is a kind of empty that doesn't come from losing anything you can name — no funeral, no diagnosis, just a slow, quiet vacancy that moved in while you were busy doing everything right.
"As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God." — Psalm 42:1-2 (NIV)
This prayer covers: existential emptiness, spiritual void after achievement, the emptiness of success without purpose, feeling hollow after raising children, post-retirement purposelessness, and the midlife realization that something fundamental is missing.
Leave the word "hollow" in the comments below if this named something you've never said out loud, or share this prayer with someone whose life looks completely fine from the outside.
