SELLEST OSAST
Does home clutter collect in the same few spots no matter how often you tidy? Have the usual decluttering tips stopped working on your entryway and your bathroom?
You're not the only one who's cleared a room on Sunday and lost it again by Wednesday.
In this episode, I'm joined by Talor Stewart, a licensed architect with more than 25 years in the industry, who created Conscious Home Design to help people design their homes around their lives.
Talor and I talk about how the layout of a house sets the pattern of a day, from which way you turn when you get out of bed to how far you carry an armload of ingredients across the kitchen. He explains why entry foyers and bathrooms take the heaviest hit, and why that comes down to size and adjacency more than discipline. We also talk about where his work meets the decluttering work I do, because both point towards a home where everything has a place to go back to.
In this episode, you'll learn:
- Why home design shapes your daily routines more than you'd expect
- How to spot the friction points in your home layout that you've stopped noticing
- Why entryways collect the most chaos in a busy household
- Why bathroom clutter follows the same pattern as the entryway
- What to look at first when open plan living makes tidying harder
- Why ADHD clutter in a household isn't a discipline problem
- How to balance connection and privacy when you share a home with other people
- Why the KonMari Method© and conscious home design point in the same direction
- How to improve home flow between the rooms you use most
- What to consider when choosing storage solutions for a small space
If you've been searching for clutter solutions, better home organization, and decluttering tips that work, this episode is your invitation to look at your home differently before you change anything.
Here's to a home that works with you,
Caroline
