WEBVTT
00:00.031 --> 00:11.547
[SPEAKER_01]: Today, we're talking about genetics and epigenetics, and how understanding your unique genetic blueprint can be one of the most powerful tools for creating truly personalized wellness.
00:12.328 --> 00:23.563
[SPEAKER_01]: From dialing in the types of food your body thrives on, to understanding how you respond to stress, to even identifying the kinds of exercises that best support your physiology.
00:24.204 --> 00:28.890
[SPEAKER_01]: This is about getting laser-focused on what actually works for you instead of guessing
00:29.157 --> 00:31.603
[SPEAKER_01]: experimenting or following the latest trends.
00:32.285 --> 00:37.177
[SPEAKER_01]: And if you've never explored Epigenetics before, this is such an exciting place to start.
00:37.858 --> 00:40.585
[SPEAKER_01]: I love the topic and can not wait to get into it.

01:32.441 --> 01:33.522
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's dive in!
01:34.767 --> 01:38.593
[SPEAKER_01]: Hi, everyone, and welcome back to Inspired Wellness Podcast.
01:38.613 --> 01:58.244
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Michelle White, your host, and we're hoping to have Tabitha on with us today, but she just lost her internet like an hour ago, and I was just telling her guest, which we will get to in a second, that I had been talking to Tabitha just yesterday, telling her how excited I am about this interview and how much she's gonna love it.
01:58.324 --> 01:58.885
[SPEAKER_01]: So,
01:58.865 --> 02:09.815
[SPEAKER_01]: We're all really sad right now that that happened, but we are going to just march on without her today, and she's just going to have a great listening experience when this airs.
02:11.336 --> 02:28.332
[SPEAKER_01]: So, so today, my guest is Becca Rose's founder of Mind Body Jeans, an epigenetics education and genetic blueprint company, but who's been helping modern women and wellness practitioners move beyond one size fits all
02:28.717 --> 02:41.816
[SPEAKER_01]: After her own health journey in 2020, Becca became a double certified in epigenetics and began building programs that translate complex genetic data into practical real-life strategies.
02:42.437 --> 02:48.987
[SPEAKER_01]: Through her MBG genetic blueprint and gene queen certification, she now trains coaches
02:49.034 --> 03:00.352
[SPEAKER_01]: inclinations around the world to use genetics as a personalized framework for wellness, rooted in nourishment, nervous system support, and sustainable long-term transformation.
03:01.154 --> 03:09.507
[SPEAKER_01]: Becca, I know I have told you that I personally love all things epigenetics and I am just so so excited to have you here today.
03:09.588 --> 03:11.271
[SPEAKER_00]: I am so excited to be here.
03:11.331 --> 03:12.613
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for having me.
03:12.693 --> 03:13.894
[SPEAKER_00]: Of course.
03:13.955 --> 03:17.059
[SPEAKER_01]: And thanks for hanging in with our technical difficulty.
03:17.239 --> 03:18.321
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
03:18.341 --> 03:19.062
[SPEAKER_00]: You got it.
03:19.182 --> 03:19.643
[SPEAKER_00]: I get it.
03:21.446 --> 03:29.217
[SPEAKER_01]: Before we dive into all of the genetics and epigenetics that you do, I'd love for you to share a little bit about your background.
03:29.698 --> 03:35.747
[SPEAKER_01]: Can you walk us through your personal health journey and how that led you to discover epigenetics?
03:35.862 --> 03:37.125
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, absolutely.
03:37.145 --> 03:41.035
[SPEAKER_00]: 2020 was really a big turning point for me.
03:41.275 --> 03:45.465
[SPEAKER_00]: So before that, if we rewind a little bit, by then I had three kids.
03:45.987 --> 03:51.019
[SPEAKER_00]: I was working in a very high-intense career, really.
03:50.999 --> 04:08.198
[SPEAKER_00]: lot of hours, a lot of stress, and really once my daughter was born in 2018, I took a, like, finally took a chance to really focus on my health and figure out what was going on with me because it was just kind of like grinding for for almost 12 years.
04:08.532 --> 04:09.274
[SPEAKER_00]: before that.
04:09.394 --> 04:24.010
[SPEAKER_00]: So when 2020 hit, it was really the first time that I had received answers for a lot of the questions I had been asking, you know, stress just what felt like hormonal overload from, you know, the pregnancies and postpartum and
04:23.990 --> 04:29.460
[SPEAKER_00]: nervous system support, nothing that I was doing was working in terms of supporting me.
04:29.500 --> 04:32.426
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, energy fatigue, you name it.
04:32.486 --> 04:36.533
[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of had the run of the mill, you know, like, do I have thyroid issues?
04:36.573 --> 04:37.175
[SPEAKER_00]: Do I have this?
04:37.215 --> 04:37.796
[SPEAKER_00]: Do I have that?
04:38.136 --> 04:42.464
[SPEAKER_00]: And so I finally received answers in 2020 and received a Hashimoto's diagnosis.
04:42.525 --> 04:45.370
[SPEAKER_00]: And so I, that was kind of a big wake-up call for me to go.
04:45.450 --> 04:46.572
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay,
04:46.552 --> 04:55.730
[SPEAKER_00]: The positive side of this is finally I'm getting some answers for the way that I'm feeling and then the other side of it was like, what do I do now right like what do I do now that I have this diagnosis?
04:56.331 --> 05:08.374
[SPEAKER_00]: I was already really focused on you know like wellness in terms of like in my home and the products I used and just like the things we ate and all of that but I really started to figure out that.
05:08.354 --> 05:30.227
[SPEAKER_00]: especially with a diagnosis like that when you're talking about anything with a thyroid and dealing with predominantly women, you realize that there was a lot of protocols and one-size-fits-all things that were just being thrown at me by different practitioners that I worked with at the time and I realized that there was a huge gap in figuring out the personalization piece.
05:30.207 --> 05:39.038
[SPEAKER_00]: So like many of us do when we're on our own healing journey, I started to just get really obsessed with researching everything that I could, right?
05:39.418 --> 05:53.295
[SPEAKER_00]: All the meanwhile spending a lot of money and time on different protocols and different testing and all of that and was starting to get a little bit frustrated and I think that frustrating point for me was what really allowed me to open myself up to
05:53.613 --> 05:54.835
[SPEAKER_00]: alternative things, right?
05:55.575 --> 06:01.383
[SPEAKER_00]: It was already viewing it from a holistic lens, but I decided when I saw epigenetics like on social media.
06:01.563 --> 06:04.687
[SPEAKER_00]: As, you know, most of us do, we find things on social media.
06:04.707 --> 06:10.174
[SPEAKER_00]: I realized, oh, this could be the missing link to what's been going on, right?
06:10.194 --> 06:14.980
[SPEAKER_00]: Because it was like two steps forward, two steps back, kind of game for a while.
06:14.960 --> 06:22.611
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so I founded and as a any a-groom free, just personality types that I am, I did my own blueprint.
06:22.631 --> 06:33.105
[SPEAKER_00]: I ran my own blueprint, you know, works with somebody who was well-versed epigenetics and I decided, I literally going to do this because it changed the entire game for me.
06:33.686 --> 06:38.993
[SPEAKER_00]: I realized that my genes allowed me to get a roadmap and a blueprint.
06:38.973 --> 06:46.503
[SPEAKER_00]: To me, despite what was going on, despite all the things that I had, you know, the Hashimoto's, I was getting that into remission.
06:46.523 --> 06:57.018
[SPEAKER_00]: And it really sped things up for me because a lot of the one-size-fits-all advice I was finding or Hashimoto's were against what my actual gene were telling you to do.
06:57.138 --> 06:57.218
[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
06:57.198 --> 07:09.779
[SPEAKER_00]: And some of it were, some of those things we can talk about for sure, they were, you know, healthy, quote unquote, let's do bulletproof coffee, let's do lots of coconut oil, let's do lots of bone broth and lots of nourishing things.
07:10.280 --> 07:14.447
[SPEAKER_00]: And for me, it was working against what my actual DNA was telling me.
07:15.529 --> 07:19.375
[SPEAKER_00]: So my professional background was in, you know, kind of like corporate,
07:19.355 --> 07:23.142
[SPEAKER_00]: instructional design, you know, course creation, things like that education.
07:23.202 --> 07:32.057
[SPEAKER_00]: And when I went to get certified in epigenetics, I realized that there was, you know, my whole goal was to get this technology into people's hands, right?
07:32.137 --> 07:35.483
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, help friends, help family, help people around me.
07:35.643 --> 07:42.595
[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even set out to create this large company to create this business as I did, but I quickly realized that
07:42.575 --> 07:45.700
[SPEAKER_00]: I guess my whole purpose was discovering gaps, right?
07:45.760 --> 07:49.907
[SPEAKER_00]: Discovering gaps in the system to where, okay, I was educated on this.
07:49.987 --> 07:51.430
[SPEAKER_00]: I ended up getting certified in it.
07:51.891 --> 08:00.946
[SPEAKER_00]: I went through this advanced level training got double certified from these doctors that actually didn't have an interest in helping every day people do this.
08:01.046 --> 08:03.570
[SPEAKER_00]: It was kind of like that anomaly situation where I thought,
08:03.550 --> 08:07.738
[SPEAKER_00]: how do I get people just like me to learn about this, right?
08:07.838 --> 08:16.856
[SPEAKER_00]: And so I decided after, you know, about a year of my business, just, you know, helping folks with genetic blueprinting and helping them learn about their health, I'm just one person.
08:16.936 --> 08:23.128
[SPEAKER_00]: So I decided to create that training certification and education track for practitioners and clinic,
08:23.108 --> 08:28.116
[SPEAKER_00]: clinicians like whether they're just health coach or they're all the way up to the MD level.
08:28.316 --> 08:40.694
[SPEAKER_00]: We have students from all different backgrounds, and so I realize that because the testing existed, but there really wasn't that education and interpretation piece of it, that's how we really formed the core of what my body genes does today.
08:40.714 --> 08:50.449
[SPEAKER_01]: That is just so innovative, and I feel like once we start talking, I start digging into this even more, your program is just so
08:50.665 --> 08:53.028
[SPEAKER_01]: unique in innovative.
08:53.068 --> 08:55.891
[SPEAKER_01]: So I just appreciate that you've done this.
08:56.792 --> 09:11.629
[SPEAKER_01]: Now for our audience who may not be as in love with epigenetics quite yet as I am and might be hearing about this for the first time, can you just explain what is epigenetics and how is that different from the idea that our genes are destiny?
09:12.050 --> 09:12.150
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
09:12.130 --> 09:13.172
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's a great question.
09:13.212 --> 09:14.013
[SPEAKER_00]: And I love to start there.
09:14.033 --> 09:15.375
[SPEAKER_00]: It's usually the first question we get.
09:15.435 --> 09:16.697
[SPEAKER_00]: What in the heck is epigenetics?
09:17.177 --> 09:20.302
[SPEAKER_00]: So genetics are your blueprint.
09:20.362 --> 09:22.465
[SPEAKER_00]: So your genes are your actual blueprint.
09:22.485 --> 09:25.950
[SPEAKER_00]: And your and epigenetics explains how lifestyle talks to your genes.
09:26.051 --> 09:27.913
[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's really the simplest way to put it.
09:28.394 --> 09:32.560
[SPEAKER_00]: It really explains how when you hear the thing about genes or not your destiny.
09:32.881 --> 09:37.447
[SPEAKER_00]: It's because we have so much control over how our lifestyle influences those genes.
09:37.507 --> 09:37.868
[SPEAKER_00]: So,
09:37.848 --> 09:43.014
[SPEAKER_00]: Getting the genetic piece, getting the genetic blueprint is truly getting the map to you.
09:43.034 --> 09:51.344
[SPEAKER_00]: That's why it's static and it never changes, although how we influence the genes is something we can do every single day through what we call epigenetics.
09:51.745 --> 09:53.387
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's how it's a very unique mix.
09:53.407 --> 09:59.494
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you can go do a cheek swab really anywhere these days, especially online and learn what your SNPs are.
09:59.654 --> 10:00.636
[SPEAKER_00]: You can learn about your genes.
10:00.696 --> 10:01.757
[SPEAKER_00]: You can get your blueprint.
10:01.937 --> 10:04.440
[SPEAKER_00]: But what really matters is, what do you do with the information?
10:04.560 --> 10:04.801
[SPEAKER_00]: Right?
10:04.861 --> 10:05.982
[SPEAKER_00]: How do you translate it?
10:05.962 --> 10:11.954
[SPEAKER_00]: How do you take what your APOE status is and your COMT or your MTHFR variations?
10:12.295 --> 10:17.025
[SPEAKER_00]: And how do you go with what I'm experiencing with my lived experience and all of that?
10:17.165 --> 10:22.536
[SPEAKER_00]: How do I actually influence this and make a positive change for what I want my health to look like?
10:22.617 --> 10:28.490
[SPEAKER_01]: So do you work with women once you get that and kind of tell them how to incorporate it in their lives?
10:28.951 --> 10:31.417
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, our genetic blueprints are for life.
10:31.517 --> 10:34.283
[SPEAKER_00]: And so what they do is they take an epigenetic lens on everything.
10:34.343 --> 10:39.715
[SPEAKER_00]: So our particular blueprint looks at all of your SNPs, but it also looks at them through a lifestyle lens.
10:39.735 --> 10:41.098
[SPEAKER_00]: So we have specific
10:41.078 --> 10:45.445
[SPEAKER_00]: areas and sections of the report that look at just nutrition genes, right?
10:45.525 --> 10:50.354
[SPEAKER_00]: Because that's something we're going to eat every single day, hopefully multiple times and we're going to influence that every day.
10:50.374 --> 11:00.150
[SPEAKER_00]: And then you have sleep and you have hormone health and you have toxicants and inflammation and you have those things because we're influencing them with what we choose to
11:00.130 --> 11:05.056
[SPEAKER_00]: Put on our bodies, put in our bodies, have in our homes, our air quality, every single day.
11:05.096 --> 11:22.798
[SPEAKER_00]: We look at micro nutrients because those genes influence how you convert different vitamins, how you regulate those pathways, what your MTHFR status is, how we can convert different B vitamins, how we convert vitamin A, how we actually absorb nutrients.
11:22.818 --> 11:27.083
[SPEAKER_00]: So you're not just throwing spaghetti at the wall, you're really trying to get precise.
11:27.063 --> 11:29.166
[SPEAKER_00]: with your supplement routine.
11:29.366 --> 11:35.093
[SPEAKER_00]: It's very easy and I still am one of those people who get sucked into, oh, wow, I saw an ad for this.
11:35.153 --> 11:38.557
[SPEAKER_00]: I was definitely targeted for something because of my search history.
11:38.577 --> 11:40.720
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, oh, I want to buy that.
11:40.840 --> 11:43.042
[SPEAKER_00]: But do you actually need to buy it, right?
11:43.123 --> 11:51.713
[SPEAKER_00]: You can actually come your own health detective and knowing your blueprint and your map allows you to go, would this actually be good for me?
11:51.773 --> 11:55.838
[SPEAKER_00]: Instead of just kind of trusting somebody because they said it would, right?
11:56.155 --> 12:03.668
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so it sounds like it kind of helps us understand that that one size fits all approach.
12:03.901 --> 12:05.783
[SPEAKER_01]: doesn't work for everyone.
12:06.203 --> 12:09.966
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it really helps women to move out of trial and error.
12:10.127 --> 12:18.734
[SPEAKER_00]: It can really reduce overwhelm when it comes to our wellness, whether that's from what supplements do I need to take or what do I need to eat?
12:18.834 --> 12:20.596
[SPEAKER_00]: Those are the top two questions we get.
12:20.696 --> 12:22.057
[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, what do I need to take?
12:22.458 --> 12:23.479
[SPEAKER_00]: And what do I need to eat?
12:23.859 --> 12:25.580
[SPEAKER_00]: And your genes actually know that, right?
12:25.660 --> 12:26.341
[SPEAKER_00]: Your genes know it.
12:26.381 --> 12:28.563
[SPEAKER_00]: So the answers are already inside of you.
12:28.603 --> 12:31.866
[SPEAKER_00]: It just gives women permission to stop
12:31.846 --> 12:39.555
[SPEAKER_00]: feeling like they have to live up to some influencers, you know, expectations or their routine because that may not work for them.
12:39.655 --> 12:43.840
[SPEAKER_00]: We are all so unique and it really helps us to tune back into ourselves.
12:45.221 --> 12:47.925
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I do see a lot of influencers post.
12:47.945 --> 12:49.126
[SPEAKER_01]: This is what I do in a day.
12:49.206 --> 12:59.558
[SPEAKER_01]: This is what I do in a day and it's like, I always, I appreciate the advice.
13:00.112 --> 13:16.146
[SPEAKER_01]: you don't look like me and I'm not you and so I do I focus a lot on bioindividuality and that's why what you do just speaks to me so much because it's like the most bioindividual you can possibly get when you're
13:16.531 --> 13:21.038
[SPEAKER_01]: actually building a blueprint from your genetics your own personal.
13:21.659 --> 13:22.100
[SPEAKER_00]: It's true.
13:22.220 --> 13:34.860
[SPEAKER_00]: It really explains why two women doing what the exact same thing like give keto for an example two women doing keto one can, you know, thrive on that and the other one just completely crashes out.
13:34.840 --> 13:41.712
[SPEAKER_00]: And so until you try that, this is why we kind of reduce that trial and error approach, because until you try it, you really don't know which can't you fall in.
13:41.772 --> 13:46.841
[SPEAKER_00]: And to be honest, it's we don't really have the time and energy to just be experimenting on ourselves all the time, right?
13:46.901 --> 13:54.013
[SPEAKER_00]: It just gives us so much more permission to be able to really look into what we actually need, what actually is relevant to us as women.
13:54.753 --> 14:10.315
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I think the areas you look at are so interesting and you kind of ran through them pretty quickly, but I'd love to kind of step back and focus on some that you see, I mean, you talked about women, you know, getting the question.
14:10.683 --> 14:13.046
[SPEAKER_01]: what should I eat and what should I take.
14:13.727 --> 14:27.628
[SPEAKER_01]: So I get that and I think there you're talking about what do what does my macro nutrient profile maybe ideally look like versus oh everybody should have a hundred and thousand grams of protein per day.
14:29.110 --> 14:31.035
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're about what you see there.
14:31.096 --> 14:41.364
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, especially as things are trending and things are very cyclical right, they come back into focus, they go, they die down a little bit, they come back and we're fixated on things at different times.
14:41.946 --> 14:44.453
[SPEAKER_00]: With your genetics, we can actually tell
14:44.433 --> 15:03.370
[SPEAKER_00]: how an individual body responds to fat, how an individual body responds to protein, how we respond to carbohydrates, how we process complex carbohydrates, how our insulin handling is, what our hunger and say, tidy cues are just to name a few in the in the hunger, in the whole,
15:03.350 --> 15:05.273
[SPEAKER_00]: you know, grand scheme of things in the nutrition.
15:05.333 --> 15:13.246
[SPEAKER_00]: We start with hunger and we go into all the macros and then we even go into, you know, food-based histamine response because that's another one.
15:13.286 --> 15:16.030
[SPEAKER_00]: That seems to be very trending right now.
15:16.091 --> 15:18.134
[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, oh, everyone has histamine issues.
15:18.274 --> 15:22.801
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, let's look at the genes and see what our, you know, dial production is like.
15:22.861 --> 15:28.851
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's look at our H&MT genes and let's really see what that signaling is like from the gut to the brain.
15:28.831 --> 15:36.108
[SPEAKER_00]: And it gives you a really clear picture of, are you somebody who needs more protein or less?
15:36.449 --> 15:39.436
[SPEAKER_00]: Are you somebody who needs specific types of fats?
15:39.537 --> 15:42.604
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you have issues with any of the types of fats that are out there?
15:42.624 --> 15:44.308
[SPEAKER_00]: Whether that be saturated fat?
15:44.609 --> 15:48.718
[SPEAKER_00]: Omega 3's Omega 6's and every profiles unique.
15:48.738 --> 15:53.288
[SPEAKER_00]: So literally, like I cannot tell you until we look at your genes, what that's going to look like.
15:53.348 --> 15:59.682
[SPEAKER_00]: And so it's why we really try to do a good job of educating around the bio individuality instead of
15:59.662 --> 16:02.228
[SPEAKER_00]: everybody should do this, everybody should do that.
16:02.529 --> 16:07.340
[SPEAKER_00]: Because I see people all the time who there are women who do really well and thrive with low carb.
16:07.661 --> 16:18.666
[SPEAKER_00]: There are women who do really well with high carb and who actually were eating low carb for so many years and going against the signaling and then who end up having some of these hormonal issues later on.
16:18.646 --> 16:24.395
[SPEAKER_00]: or insulin resistance issues because they're just not giving their body the nourishment that they were wired for.
16:24.415 --> 16:35.591
[SPEAKER_00]: And so it's a really good chance to say, hey, you don't have to worry about anything that anyone else says anymore because you actually know how you're wired from here on out.
16:36.232 --> 16:37.314
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's really freeing.
16:37.414 --> 16:40.198
[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, the thing that I hear the most is
16:40.178 --> 16:54.272
[SPEAKER_00]: it's really freeing and also I hear a lot that it's very validating because a lot of the times like as women I think we're very smart we're very intuitive but the world is telling us to not really listen to ourselves as much just because of how you know inundated with information we are.
16:54.860 --> 17:04.815
[SPEAKER_00]: We actually know, so I can't tell you how many women that I meet that will see their genes and then they'll go, I literally knew it, but I didn't, like, like, they're like, I knew it.
17:04.915 --> 17:06.297
[SPEAKER_00]: I knew it deep down, like, deep down.
17:06.337 --> 17:10.443
[SPEAKER_00]: I knew I shouldn't do keto, but I just kept getting sucked in and they're like, but I felt terrible.
17:10.763 --> 17:11.625
[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't have energy.
17:11.705 --> 17:12.786
[SPEAKER_00]: My hair was falling out.
17:13.608 --> 17:17.273
[SPEAKER_00]: I had a lot of crazy hormonal shifts after I went low carb for years.
17:17.253 --> 17:32.135
[SPEAKER_00]: And then they realized, okay, like this was actually inside of me all the long, but something about having that proof, something about having that roadmap and that blueprint right in front of you really allows that freedom and almost that like permission to trust ourselves again.
17:32.635 --> 17:35.760
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, that is so true.
17:35.800 --> 17:38.704
[SPEAKER_01]: And I know that it's not, I mean, I love testing.
17:39.038 --> 17:44.684
[SPEAKER_01]: And this is a little different from maybe getting tested to see which nutrients you might be deficient in.
17:45.204 --> 17:55.595
[SPEAKER_01]: But it sounds like it could tell you, hey, based on your genes, you're likely to be deficient in XYZ gene or not methylating certain genes correctly.
17:56.816 --> 17:58.478
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, or not nutrients correctly.
17:58.538 --> 18:00.801
[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that's really interesting.
18:00.921 --> 18:04.084
[SPEAKER_01]: And another one that I don't think you have touched on, which
18:04.705 --> 18:16.842
[SPEAKER_01]: Sparks, my interest a lot, and I know TAB would be interested, is that it all, you also kind of see what type of exercise and movement works well for an individual.
18:17.002 --> 18:21.628
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's something that you see so much, there's so many trends out there.
18:21.668 --> 18:25.954
[SPEAKER_01]: So can you talk about what you still there and how that reads in the blueprint?
18:25.934 --> 18:41.513
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we have a whole exercise profile and so what it does is it goes into not only how you're wired from a recovery standpoint, like your muscle and recovery genetics, but we also go into something that allows us to see if you thrive better under power and sprint.
18:41.881 --> 18:48.932
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, excerpt based exercise or endurance based exercises, and that's all because of the way that we can tell how your muscle fibers are formed.
18:49.052 --> 18:51.155
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you have more fast switch muscle fibers?
18:51.195 --> 18:52.898
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you have more slow twist muscle fibers?
18:52.998 --> 18:55.382
[SPEAKER_00]: Or some people are very balanced in that regard.
18:55.923 --> 19:00.490
[SPEAKER_00]: And so it will literally tell you, you know, even in some of the more like the deeper panels.
19:00.890 --> 19:05.357
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, if you are a weight loss responder to exercise, which a lot of women can say,
19:06.012 --> 19:15.973
[SPEAKER_00]: I know I'm not because it never happens for me and but seeing it on paper is really that like validating, okay, yes, I do have to focus on other things not just going to the gym.
19:16.093 --> 19:25.152
[SPEAKER_00]: If I want to change my body composition, I need to have a more holistic approach, whether you thrive under intense, you know, high intensity exercise.
19:25.132 --> 19:29.077
[SPEAKER_00]: we learn everything about the way that you're wired from, you know, A to Z.
19:29.237 --> 19:38.248
[SPEAKER_00]: So exercise is one of those panels that really gives us a good map on which exercises might be better for you for performance, but also for your desired outcomes.
19:38.589 --> 19:43.635
[SPEAKER_00]: And then which ones might actually burn your body out a little bit quicker and not show you the results that you're looking for.
19:43.675 --> 19:46.439
[SPEAKER_01]: That is awesome.
19:46.519 --> 19:54.008
[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like these
19:54.140 --> 20:03.436
[SPEAKER_01]: decision making and helps us to kind of take a look at what we're doing and instead of doing more, we're just getting more specific.
20:03.617 --> 20:06.021
[SPEAKER_01]: So I love that you look at that.
20:07.103 --> 20:18.763
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I'd love to talk about midlife specifically, have you found that understanding genetics makes navigating midlife and hearing menopause and beyond feel less overwhelming for women.
20:18.811 --> 20:35.775
[SPEAKER_00]: I do, yeah, as somebody, I'm almost 38 and as somebody who's done having kids kind of move through those hormonal periods of my life a little bit earlier, I realized a big shift in myself and having had my blueprint for so many years, I've been able to use it in different applications.
20:36.156 --> 20:46.050
[SPEAKER_00]: So because it never changes, now that I'm dealing with more of the periodmenopause side of things instead of where I was five years ago, I'm able to use it through a lens of, okay,
20:46.030 --> 20:54.428
[SPEAKER_00]: We have a massive neurological shift when it comes to our late 30s and our 40s, especially not just with our hormones, but with our stress chemicals, right?
20:54.789 --> 21:03.027
[SPEAKER_00]: Our stress resiliency changes, dopamine and serotonin support become really, really huge for us and sleep patterns also shift.
21:03.007 --> 21:21.673
[SPEAKER_00]: So when we're looking at it from that lens, your genetics going back to those or going to them for the first time can actually help remove a lot of the confusion, help support our energy without burnout,
21:21.653 --> 21:28.725
[SPEAKER_00]: And we really, we created some reports for women that are really focused on longevity because that's really where we're headed.
21:28.786 --> 21:28.946
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
21:28.966 --> 21:34.756
[SPEAKER_00]: We're headed towards like, we want to healthy, not just a healthy lifespan, but an entire complete health span.
21:35.057 --> 21:39.725
[SPEAKER_00]: We want a health span that allows us to be very active into our later years.
21:40.065 --> 21:45.535
[SPEAKER_00]: We don't want to just be, you know, we're seeing kind of the aging of our grandparents and our parents and we're going.
21:45.515 --> 21:46.516
[SPEAKER_00]: We want different.
21:46.617 --> 21:47.678
[SPEAKER_00]: We want more, right?
21:47.698 --> 21:49.941
[SPEAKER_00]: We want to live our lives a little bit differently.
21:50.422 --> 21:53.927
[SPEAKER_00]: So how we look at that is we look at all of our hormonal signals.
21:54.408 --> 21:57.913
[SPEAKER_00]: We look at our COMT status to learn about our stress signaling.
21:58.433 --> 22:03.000
[SPEAKER_00]: And let me tell you, when I truly, truly look at my report,
22:02.980 --> 22:09.968
[SPEAKER_00]: for longevity, which we call age like a badass, which I think is just so perfect for women in this stage of life in Perry Menopause.
22:10.949 --> 22:13.572
[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's not a crisis, it's a recalibration phase.
22:13.612 --> 22:14.793
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what Perry Menopause is.
22:15.194 --> 22:23.343
[SPEAKER_00]: And so when I realized that, okay, this was a great chance for me to figure out how my nervous system actually responds to everything through my genes.
22:23.843 --> 22:30.591
[SPEAKER_00]: I really was able to peel back the layers and look at, you know, supporting and nourishing my nervous system,
22:30.571 --> 22:36.243
[SPEAKER_00]: which is not something that I did before, even having done this work for years because I didn't need it, right?
22:36.383 --> 22:45.501
[SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't in the phase of life where I was recognizing that, oh, nervous system and stress and sleep and muscle mass.
22:45.521 --> 22:52.275
[SPEAKER_00]: These are the things that now I'm finding really important where those weren't necessarily the most important things before when I was dealing with
22:52.255 --> 22:56.582
[SPEAKER_00]: My flare-ups and getting my autoimmune in remission, that was more precedented, right?
22:56.662 --> 23:00.808
[SPEAKER_00]: So now it's just a matter of like, it follows you wherever you are.
23:00.948 --> 23:07.198
[SPEAKER_00]: So whether you're in Perry, Minopause yet or you're going to be going through it in the near future, it gives you a leg up in the game.
23:07.979 --> 23:08.720
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
23:08.740 --> 23:09.001
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
23:09.021 --> 23:18.415
[SPEAKER_01]: So you kind of touched on what I was thinking and questioning in my mind is I know we're changing and there are certain things like we can't handle stress as well.
23:18.682 --> 23:20.284
[SPEAKER_01]: in Perry Minipause.
23:21.706 --> 23:27.033
[SPEAKER_01]: But the genetics are the same as if we have done this test in 15 or 20 or 25.
23:27.634 --> 23:37.748
[SPEAKER_01]: And so how do you kind of see that claim into it that even though the genetics are the same, we may be experiencing them differently.
23:37.768 --> 23:41.753
[SPEAKER_01]: And that will still help us in this space.
23:41.868 --> 23:43.090
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's a great question.
23:43.130 --> 23:47.798
[SPEAKER_00]: I would say the biggest answer I have for that would come from hormones and a sleep.
23:47.818 --> 23:59.759
[SPEAKER_00]: So for example, I'm somebody who like my sleep genetics were reading all over the place like had a lot of things in my genetics that I was like, okay, well, 10, five years ago, like I didn't I wasn't expressing those things.
23:59.799 --> 24:01.362
[SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't experiencing them.
24:01.342 --> 24:08.115
[SPEAKER_00]: Fast forward now, entering into these later years, I'm definitely experiencing more of those restless like syndromes.
24:08.135 --> 24:20.177
[SPEAKER_00]: The vitamin B6 deficiency, the need for more magnesium, some of those deans that I had that I was not necessarily ignoring before, but didn't need to work on because I didn't need to support those areas.
24:20.157 --> 24:22.680
[SPEAKER_00]: are now coming back and I'm going, okay, this is great.
24:22.700 --> 24:23.822
[SPEAKER_00]: I have the tools that I need.
24:23.842 --> 24:25.524
[SPEAKER_00]: Another place is warm out.
24:25.544 --> 24:27.186
[SPEAKER_00]: It's like very unique situation.
24:27.227 --> 24:29.790
[SPEAKER_00]: They tell you, oh, you're going to lose estrogen.
24:30.331 --> 24:31.673
[SPEAKER_00]: That's your it's gone.
24:31.693 --> 24:34.356
[SPEAKER_00]: It's it's leaving the building when you hit pyramid applause.
24:34.376 --> 24:35.177
[SPEAKER_00]: You need to support it.
24:35.618 --> 24:40.845
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, somebody like me, I actually tend towards high estrogen and very low testosterone.
24:41.225 --> 24:49.877
[SPEAKER_00]: And so for me, that conversation with my providers and my care team is very unique because I know my genes, you know, 10 years ago, it was less relevant.
24:49.857 --> 24:59.591
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it was more so like, yeah, I get it like I have a harder time bouncing back from postpartum because my body likes to really stay in a high estrogenic state and my testosterone is lower.
24:59.651 --> 25:01.253
[SPEAKER_00]: So yes, I feel that fatigue.
25:01.313 --> 25:02.315
[SPEAKER_00]: I feel low energy.
25:02.375 --> 25:04.558
[SPEAKER_00]: I feel a little fluffier than I normally would.
25:04.598 --> 25:06.641
[SPEAKER_00]: It just, it's just on my body tense.
25:07.001 --> 25:11.848
[SPEAKER_00]: But then now that I'm entering into these years and I'm really working on like supporting my hormones.
25:11.828 --> 25:21.099
[SPEAKER_00]: both holistically and with medicine as well, it's important to know your genetic makeup because then, otherwise, it's like, what do we think that providers will do?
25:21.139 --> 25:29.969
[SPEAKER_00]: They will run hormone labs, but they will also take a snapshot in time and they won't take into consideration how your body is actually wired for the long term.
25:30.289 --> 25:35.275
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you have trouble metabolizing these extra estrogens?
25:35.315 --> 25:37.397
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you have trouble eliminating them?
25:37.377 --> 25:41.764
[SPEAKER_00]: How does your phase two work when it comes to potential hormone replacement therapy?
25:41.784 --> 25:51.801
[SPEAKER_00]: There's so many nuances to the conversation that we're absolutely irrelevant to me, you know, five years ago, but now are becoming more relevant because I'm really diving into it from that lens.
25:51.841 --> 25:55.808
[SPEAKER_00]: So I think it's beautiful no matter what age you are because really like,
25:55.788 --> 26:21.238
[SPEAKER_00]: That's why we have trained and certified coaches and practitioners that help you with it because if you just saw your blueprint and even as well as it's laid out and as easy as it is to read and it's very user friendly without the context of your own like personal experience and what your goals are and what you're dealing with right now it's very hard to put that into a framework so that's exactly why we really emphasize that practitioner support.
26:21.218 --> 26:23.160
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not really a direct-a-consumer thing.
26:23.180 --> 26:26.824
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like, hey, let me just get my blueprint and I'll read it and see what I can do.
26:27.225 --> 26:28.987
[SPEAKER_00]: You've got to have that human element.
26:29.007 --> 26:31.830
[SPEAKER_00]: You've got to have even especially in the age of AI, right?
26:31.870 --> 26:37.096
[SPEAKER_00]: Where there's a lot of people promising like, oh, just plug it in and you can get the full readout.
26:37.477 --> 26:44.405
[SPEAKER_00]: You really need that human coach that practitioner to go, hey, I hear you and I see what your hormones genetics are saying.
26:44.465 --> 26:50.652
[SPEAKER_00]: And I also see what's happening, what your symptoms are, and here's how we can support and build those gaps.
26:50.632 --> 26:55.137
[SPEAKER_00]: Those symptoms may be a right now thing, but they're not going to be a forever thing.
26:55.718 --> 26:55.818
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
26:56.559 --> 27:09.273
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so you kind of, again, you're answering these questions that are popping into my head because I kind of, I was thinking, well, are you going to get to a point where, you know, women are going to think, oh, it's kind of too late for me to do this.
27:09.353 --> 27:14.479
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm already past the time and this could be helpful, but it almost sounds like it gets
27:15.100 --> 27:17.791
[SPEAKER_01]: maybe more helpful or helpful in a different way.
27:17.811 --> 27:22.933
[SPEAKER_01]: I like that we can come back to you and kind of have a re-calibration of
27:23.268 --> 27:26.032
[SPEAKER_01]: the conversation and say, how does this apply now?
27:26.052 --> 27:32.021
[SPEAKER_01]: Cause it's that you see people coming back in and asking, why am I feeling like this now?
27:32.602 --> 27:33.864
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, I do.
27:33.924 --> 27:38.551
[SPEAKER_00]: We do, we actually have recalibration sessions where we go over and kind of optimize based on your blueprint.
27:38.571 --> 27:44.861
[SPEAKER_00]: Whether you've got that done two years ago, five years ago, 10 years ago, where we can go back and really look at it through a new lens.
27:44.881 --> 27:49.107
[SPEAKER_00]: Because again, your goals change, your body changes,
27:49.087 --> 28:15.212
[SPEAKER_00]: your mindset changes things improve too so when you start to improve things with genetics you're like okay great now like I understand this piece can we go deeper on this area and and yeah to answer your question it's never too late like I see women all the time who are actually like even postmenopause and they're looking at it from the lens of okay maybe I I didn't have this support in Perry menopause now I'm postmenopausal I need some more support
28:15.192 --> 28:31.834
[SPEAKER_00]: It's insane what it can do, like no matter what stage of life you're in, I just find it like really fascinating, having done reports from, you know, six years old all the way up to, you know, 80, it's really interesting, no matter how old you are, like what you can pull out of a blueprint.
28:31.814 --> 28:48.945
[SPEAKER_00]: to help you with whatever is going on right now, you know, for kids, like, I think it's funny because like we talked to a lot of Perryman and a pause women and a lot of those women have kids and if you if you do have kids, you're like, oh my gosh, like, how can I support my children from the lens of
28:48.925 --> 29:02.566
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they're growing bodies, their bodies who are, you know, involved in sports and involved in a lot of things involved in a lot of, you know, things that they have to use their brains for like, I mean kids are involved in so many activities more than ever.
29:02.686 --> 29:05.169
[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it's important to know how to nourish them.
29:06.211 --> 29:09.516
[SPEAKER_00]: But also from a lens of, you know, we get told like,
29:09.496 --> 29:23.488
[SPEAKER_00]: Certain behaviors and kids are not linked to, you know, it's genes and we look at it in the genes and we can tell like if somebody is truly, really sensitive to things like food dies because of the genes that they carry we can tell if they're sensitive to.
29:23.840 --> 29:34.593
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, high amounts of vitamin E, if they promote inflammation in their body from a lot of omega sixes, we can tell things that as a mother are so helpful to know.
29:34.613 --> 29:45.966
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's fun to be able to translate that information into kind of that child lens to where when you're talking to a mom and her and her kid, it's like.
29:46.165 --> 29:46.886
[SPEAKER_00]: It's so fun.
29:46.946 --> 29:54.075
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, my kid's brag about which one has fast caffeine metabolism because I have a teenager who loves coffee and he's he's so funny.
29:54.115 --> 29:55.998
[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, he knows he's a slow metabolizer.
29:56.038 --> 29:58.200
[SPEAKER_00]: So he's like, got to get my cup in early.
29:58.221 --> 30:01.224
[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't so I can metabolize it throughout the day.
30:01.284 --> 30:03.007
[SPEAKER_00]: And he's he's like aware of it.
30:03.107 --> 30:05.950
[SPEAKER_00]: And then my daughter's like seven and she's like flipping her hair.
30:06.011 --> 30:07.753
[SPEAKER_00]: Like I'm metabolize it quickly.
30:07.833 --> 30:10.276
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll be able to have all the coffee I want when I'm older.
30:10.376 --> 30:11.718
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just it's so fun.
30:11.778 --> 30:14.181
[SPEAKER_00]: It's like it's a neat way to help us to
30:14.161 --> 30:15.744
[SPEAKER_00]: It's so cute right now.
30:15.764 --> 30:33.132
[SPEAKER_00]: It teaches them a little bit about like, you know, gosh, I wish I would have had that right because I was always I felt like growing up looking outside of myself for answers and like to be able to teach somebody from early on to like actually validate through their own selves is beautiful, whether you're five or 50.
30:34.040 --> 30:34.822
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love that.
30:34.862 --> 30:51.576
[SPEAKER_01]: We actually just had someone on a couple of weeks ago talking about how to fuel young athletes because so many of my listeners do have those those kids that they're constantly trying to take care of and I love this layered on top of it.
30:51.877 --> 30:53.279
[SPEAKER_01]: our listeners, have a listen to that one.
30:53.339 --> 30:54.381
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll link it in the show.
30:54.501 --> 31:15.876
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a great one and this would be a great way to, I mean, you could probably, I feel like I look at my kids and I'm like, that one's my husband, that one's me, so if I didn't my genetic blueprint didn't quite get around to getting there, there's probably could, you know, I could probably understand a little bit more from that, but yeah, that is awesome that your kids are already.
31:16.733 --> 31:18.355
[SPEAKER_01]: Are you implementing these?
31:18.515 --> 31:19.497
[SPEAKER_01]: It's so great.
31:19.877 --> 31:21.139
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's really cute.
31:21.239 --> 31:35.178
[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I mean, to go back to the period menopause things, it's like, we not only are we inundated with what's happening in our own bodies and our own minds at the time of this, but we're also getting inundated with the trends.
31:35.218 --> 31:37.020
[SPEAKER_00]: We're getting inundated with, you know, the,
31:37.000 --> 31:42.008
[SPEAKER_00]: that there's a reason why there's like some comic relief with it like, you know, everyone's wearing a weighted vest.
31:42.088 --> 31:43.611
[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone's putting protein in everything.
31:43.671 --> 31:44.833
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I mean, I'm guilty.
31:44.853 --> 31:45.915
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I wear a weighted vest.
31:45.935 --> 31:46.976
[SPEAKER_00]: I love walking with one.
31:46.996 --> 31:49.120
[SPEAKER_00]: I love I love protein.
31:49.240 --> 31:50.202
[SPEAKER_00]: I know my own genetics.
31:50.222 --> 31:51.864
[SPEAKER_00]: So I know how far I need to go.
31:51.884 --> 31:55.009
[SPEAKER_00]: I definitely won't be buying popcorn with protein in it.
31:55.029 --> 31:57.834
[SPEAKER_00]: But I definitely am one of those ones where I'm like, I need to get protein.
31:57.874 --> 31:59.076
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I need to make sure I
31:59.056 --> 32:08.066
[SPEAKER_00]: And because it's so unique, I can laugh and like almost have fun with some of that instead of feeling like you're doomsgrowing because that's kind of what can end up happening.
32:08.447 --> 32:15.134
[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't know, it just becomes this pattern of like, do I need to be doing more and a lot of the times it's no.
32:15.154 --> 32:17.837
[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of the times like you said it earlier, it's not about doing more.
32:17.937 --> 32:22.102
[SPEAKER_00]: It's about doing less and it's about doing more specific things to you.
32:22.522 --> 32:23.123
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
32:23.103 --> 32:27.730
[SPEAKER_01]: Because if we're confused, I mean, our bodies and brains are probably like, what are you doing?
32:28.971 --> 32:29.192
[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
32:29.452 --> 32:30.093
[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
32:30.694 --> 32:31.034
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
32:31.134 --> 32:36.122
[SPEAKER_01]: So for women that are feeling overwhelmed, do you have any advice on changes?
32:36.182 --> 32:40.588
[SPEAKER_01]: They can start making now even before, you know, they get these test results.
32:41.075 --> 32:45.261
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, I think the biggest change is like to reframe, right?
32:45.382 --> 32:53.894
[SPEAKER_00]: So like a big, like real talk moment I have with people is like, we were inundated with things are designed to make us feel like we're failing.
32:54.455 --> 32:55.397
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's just the truth.
32:55.877 --> 32:59.343
[SPEAKER_00]: But what we have to realize is that you're not failing.
32:59.403 --> 33:02.527
[SPEAKER_00]: You're just following advice that was built for somebody else.
33:03.068 --> 33:08.837
[SPEAKER_00]: And so like if we can just turn back to that at any time, then we can really realize that.
33:08.817 --> 33:13.447
[SPEAKER_00]: It's the most important thing to figure out what you actually need.
33:13.848 --> 33:24.089
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's one of those things like you can kind of, there's a lot of analogies for that, like putting your oxygen mask on first all of that, but it's not just about like trying to take care of yourself first, but like learning how to do that, right?
33:24.129 --> 33:26.113
[SPEAKER_00]: Like learning what that looks like for you.
33:26.153 --> 33:29.340
[SPEAKER_00]: What might be nourishing for my nervous system?
33:29.320 --> 33:33.188
[SPEAKER_00]: might be like completely the wrong thing for somebody else, right?
33:33.509 --> 33:39.823
[SPEAKER_00]: What might be nourishing for my body to have for breakfast might be a complete wrong thing for someone else.
33:39.963 --> 33:44.393
[SPEAKER_00]: And so it's just about always learning through that lens of
33:44.373 --> 33:47.556
[SPEAKER_00]: that you do not have to continue throwing spaghetti at the wall.
33:47.596 --> 33:50.379
[SPEAKER_00]: And if you're sick of that, then there is something you can do without it.
33:50.419 --> 33:51.460
[SPEAKER_00]: That would be my best advice.
33:51.540 --> 34:01.431
[SPEAKER_00]: If it feels positive to you and it feels energizing to try all the things and to do it, and maybe you've stumbled upon things that work really well for you, then that is so great and that is so beautiful.
34:01.891 --> 34:02.732
[SPEAKER_00]: Like keep doing that.
34:02.812 --> 34:08.338
[SPEAKER_00]: But if you are finding yourself frustrated like many of us, and you're like, I just don't want to keep
34:08.318 --> 34:17.696
[SPEAKER_00]: throwing spaghetti at the wall, or you end up with a supplement graveyard that has like 20 different bottles, or you're taking 20 different things a day, and then you go, why am I taking these things again?
34:17.736 --> 34:19.600
[SPEAKER_00]: I have no idea what I'm taking these for anymore.
34:19.920 --> 34:22.405
[SPEAKER_00]: If you reach that point, that's when you call us.
34:22.485 --> 34:27.154
[SPEAKER_00]: That's when you say, hey, I think I need to tell, I need to find out what my blueprint is trying to tell me.
34:27.134 --> 34:27.915
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
34:27.935 --> 34:29.037
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think that's so true.
34:29.077 --> 34:32.522
[SPEAKER_01]: And I work with so many women who it is an iterative process.
34:32.642 --> 34:37.009
[SPEAKER_01]: Like we go through it and I tell them like we're going to put some things in place.
34:37.029 --> 34:39.152
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to work together to put together a plan for you.
34:39.232 --> 34:42.617
[SPEAKER_01]: But then we're going to meet back up and we're going to say, what worked, what didn't work.
34:42.637 --> 34:42.877
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
34:42.897 --> 34:45.521
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's, you know, you've got to find that.
34:45.601 --> 34:53.853
[SPEAKER_01]: So unless you have this cheat sheet that you're, you know, you're giving them your, you know, that is a process you can go through.
34:53.873 --> 34:56.297
[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a long-term approach.
34:56.530 --> 35:00.258
[SPEAKER_01]: But I love this blueprint idea.
35:00.278 --> 35:03.143
[SPEAKER_01]: And I know you also work with practitioners.
35:03.224 --> 35:09.296
[SPEAKER_01]: I do want to touch on that for not only for myself, I'd love to hear a little bit more about it.
35:09.356 --> 35:12.703
[SPEAKER_01]: But I know that some of our listeners are also in the wellness space.
35:12.743 --> 35:17.172
[SPEAKER_01]: So can you share a little bit about your certification and kind of who it's designed for?
35:17.489 --> 35:39.328
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's really designed for anybody that has any type of interest in the wellness industry and the reason why I built it that way is because I did realize that the industry really lacked trained interpreters because there are so many different genetic tests out there that, you know, anybody can go and grab like I said there's there's a million you'll probably get ads for them now that you're listening to this episode right.
35:39.308 --> 35:42.434
[SPEAKER_00]: What we teach is actually how to read the genetics, right?
35:42.454 --> 35:44.197
[SPEAKER_00]: We don't teach you how to memorize SNPs.
35:44.257 --> 35:49.768
[SPEAKER_00]: We don't teach you how to be able to spit off every variant that belongs in every area.
35:49.988 --> 35:59.967
[SPEAKER_00]: What we teach you how to do is how to read the gauges, how to read the results, how to read it in tandem with somebody's symptoms, with somebody's intake form.
36:00.115 --> 36:17.787
[SPEAKER_00]: we've read you how to personalize very safely for that individual and also one of the most important things is how to grow a business with this because as practitioners, we're often trying to figure out like what is the best way to grow and scale our business because the goal is to get you know, our work
36:18.593 --> 36:22.137
[SPEAKER_00]: to get our work in the hands of more people, but also help it impact their lives.
36:22.538 --> 36:25.181
[SPEAKER_00]: And so how can we do that in a safe and sustainable way?
36:25.241 --> 36:29.807
[SPEAKER_00]: It's really about the education and the framework behind what you do.
36:29.827 --> 36:40.180
[SPEAKER_00]: And no matter if you are a wellness enthusiast, or you are a registered dietician, or you are a naturopath, or you are a nurse practitioner.
36:40.160 --> 36:43.727
[SPEAKER_00]: You can always use genetics to help you personalize what you're already doing.
36:44.068 --> 36:47.975
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a, you know, change everything about your business type of thing.
36:48.055 --> 36:58.776
[SPEAKER_00]: It's more of an ad, because there's a lot of people who are doing really amazing work with reading biomarkers, with reading blood work, with reading, hair tissue mineral analysis, with reading Dutch tests.
36:58.756 --> 36:59.557
[SPEAKER_00]: Those are great.
36:59.978 --> 37:25.118
[SPEAKER_00]: When you have those and you can combine them with a complimentary test that serves as that long-term blueprint, what it ends up doing is it ends up speeding up healing for your clients, which speed up results, and it also ends up creating a longer long-term trust value with your clients, and also from a monetary standpoint as well, like your clients aren't having to shell out $500, $600 every time they need a new test.
37:25.098 --> 37:33.332
[SPEAKER_00]: it's something that lives with them through the life and longevity of your relationship with them from coach to client and practitioner client.
37:33.392 --> 37:44.811
[SPEAKER_00]: So we're not here building influencers, we're literally building educated leaders in wellness and empowering them to take the data of their own clients and use that to help their practices grow and thrive.
37:45.452 --> 37:48.237
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's really cool and have you worked with a lot of
37:48.689 --> 37:51.854
[SPEAKER_01]: um practitioners in your certification program.
37:52.255 --> 37:56.041
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, there's so many in there all different backgrounds, which is amazing.
37:56.061 --> 38:02.452
[SPEAKER_00]: And I love it because I mean, seriously, we have people that, you know, came, came, came to us and were like, hey, like, I have a full-time career.
38:02.592 --> 38:06.018
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a marketing executive, but I am like literally obsessed with wellness.
38:06.098 --> 38:10.706
[SPEAKER_00]: I talked to my, my friends come to me for advice on everything because I just, I live it.
38:10.786 --> 38:12.148
[SPEAKER_00]: I needed, I breathe it.
38:12.128 --> 38:17.002
[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, you know, do I have to have some sort of a prerequisite credentials in order to do this sort of patient?
38:17.283 --> 38:18.125
[SPEAKER_00]: And the answer is no.
38:18.185 --> 38:27.572
[SPEAKER_00]: And then I have, you know, coaches that are like, hey, I've got a master's and diatetics, like I know my shit right like part in my French like I know my stuff, but
38:27.552 --> 38:37.548
[SPEAKER_00]: I want to be able to personalize like I'm hitting a wall with clients because certain point and then it's like okay we are doing a little bit of that trial and error game, the trial and error dance.
38:37.668 --> 38:44.920
[SPEAKER_00]: I want to be able to really help more have a bigger impact and it works for both ends of the spectrum.
38:44.900 --> 39:12.207
[SPEAKER_00]: And what's beautiful is like we're all busy and we have lives and a lot of us have kids and activities and spouses and things were juggling and multiple businesses sometimes multiple projects that were in so I didn't want something that felt like you had to you know go back to school in the traditional sense of like commit to you know 40 hours a week of learning or 10 hours a week of learning like it is a 12 week program that is designed to be self-paced.
39:12.187 --> 39:14.592
[SPEAKER_00]: So you do not have to take all 12 weeks.
39:14.632 --> 39:15.694
[SPEAKER_00]: You can finish it sooner.
39:15.754 --> 39:16.876
[SPEAKER_00]: You can take longer.
39:16.916 --> 39:20.002
[SPEAKER_00]: You fit it into your life, not the other way around.
39:20.563 --> 39:21.786
[SPEAKER_00]: It's something I wanted.
39:21.846 --> 39:28.419
[SPEAKER_00]: It's something I really valued about being able to go back to school in COVID was that it was a little bit more flexible, right?
39:28.439 --> 39:29.922
[SPEAKER_00]: Because everybody was at home.
39:29.982 --> 39:32.727
[SPEAKER_00]: So I kind of wanted to mirror that and say,
39:33.263 --> 39:58.714
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we're busier now than ever and yeah, can we go back to a traditional institution and go get schooling on things absolutely, but is it easier if we busy women are able to be able to like fit this self-paced program into our lives and the answer was like a resounding yes more people were like oh my gosh, I would sign up tomorrow if I didn't have to show up for a zoom call every Wednesday at 10 o'clock like they just that that just sounds like to most people's nervous system that sounds like.
39:58.694 --> 39:58.995
[SPEAKER_00]: no.
39:59.135 --> 40:01.820
[SPEAKER_00]: That sounds like dread like I'm going to have to rearrange my schedule.
40:01.860 --> 40:03.363
[SPEAKER_00]: What if my kid has a program?
40:03.443 --> 40:06.108
[SPEAKER_00]: What if I have a client meeting and I can't make it to my class?
40:06.148 --> 40:06.930
[SPEAKER_00]: It's so important.
40:07.230 --> 40:10.196
[SPEAKER_00]: You want to be able to do it in a way that feels authentic to you.
40:10.637 --> 40:13.362
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think you really have the um...
40:13.865 --> 40:23.855
[SPEAKER_01]: The person in mind, the exact clientele in mind when you put this together, and I love that you built it around them on from both a client standpoint and a practitioner standpoint.
40:23.875 --> 40:31.343
[SPEAKER_01]: So I appreciate that and thank you for telling us all about it, you see so much valuable insight today.
40:31.463 --> 40:34.426
[SPEAKER_01]: And I know our listeners are going to want to learn more now.
40:34.546 --> 40:40.412
[SPEAKER_01]: So can you tell everyone where they can find you and just learn more about my buddy jeans and connect with your work.
40:40.797 --> 40:44.062
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're on every platform as my buddy jeans.
40:44.122 --> 40:45.844
[SPEAKER_00]: Mostly Instagram is where I hang out.
40:45.904 --> 40:48.348
[SPEAKER_00]: I do have a TikTok, but I feel like I'm a little too old for that.
40:48.368 --> 40:50.471
[SPEAKER_00]: So I just literally don't know how to use it.
40:50.491 --> 40:54.297
[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm on there, but yeah, you can find us at my buddy jeans.com.
40:54.317 --> 40:56.119
[SPEAKER_00]: You can find us my buddy jeans on Instagram.
40:56.139 --> 40:59.865

[SPEAKER_00]: We have a coach directory for anybody that wants to be listed.
41:02.468 --> 41:06.995
[SPEAKER_00]: And so if you ever want to know, like from a student perspective, like, what was it like going through detraining?
41:07.015 --> 41:08.357
[SPEAKER_00]: What is it like since you
41:08.405 --> 41:10.848
[SPEAKER_00]: you know have been certified like how is it changed your business.
41:10.888 --> 41:12.711
[SPEAKER_00]: You can always reach out to any of them as well.
41:12.731 --> 41:14.273
[SPEAKER_00]: They're very open to share.

[SPEAKER_00]: We have a great community.
41:16.395 --> 41:18.098
[SPEAKER_00]: It's one that feels very authentic.
41:18.118 --> 41:21.041
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we meet up for calls every once in a while.
41:21.101 --> 41:23.284
[SPEAKER_00]: We have a little private Instagram group group.
41:23.304 --> 41:24.606
[SPEAKER_00]: We share each other's content.
41:24.686 --> 41:31.896
[SPEAKER_00]: It just feels like a really fun network of women who are who are doing things their way and everybody has a little bit different spin on what they offer.
41:31.916 --> 41:33.498
[SPEAKER_00]: And I feel like it's just a beautiful thing.
41:33.538 --> 41:33.838
[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah,
41:33.818 --> 41:35.320
[SPEAKER_00]: That's where you can find us hanging out.
41:35.620 --> 41:39.665
[SPEAKER_00]: And my email is available at mynbodygeen.com.
41:39.705 --> 41:42.488
[SPEAKER_00]: If you ever just want to chat, I'm very responsive on email.
41:42.749 --> 41:45.792
[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, just love having conversations with women who get it.
41:45.833 --> 41:47.434
[SPEAKER_01]: That's awesome.
41:47.454 --> 41:50.458
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll definitely put all of that information in the show notes.
41:50.919 --> 41:53.001
[SPEAKER_01]: So all our listeners can go find you there.
41:53.061 --> 41:58.708
[SPEAKER_01]: And I just really, really appreciate your time and talking about a topic that I just love.
41:58.968 --> 42:01.572
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm hoping that our listeners got a lot out of it.
42:01.612 --> 42:02.813
[SPEAKER_01]: I know they will.
42:02.911 --> 42:04.453
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, thank you so much, Michelle.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's something that you can actually understand.
42:19.415 --> 42:21.879
