Before we knew him in Lawrence’s encampments, Kevin “Money Moss” Booker was a talented athlete, an aspiring musician, and someone who wanted to inspire others. Those parts of him never disappeared.
In Episode 54 of Collaborative Solutions, Kevin shares his journey through homelessness and addiction, and the decision to seek treatment and build a different future. With honesty, humor, and an unwavering faith in God, he reflects on learning that the talent, confidence, and purpose he once associated with drugs were already within him.
Our Homeless Response Team kept showing up, building a relationship and offering support. Kevin made the choice and did the work. Now approaching six months in recovery, he is pursuing his music and showing others what is possible.
His message is simple: Think B.I.G. - Believe in God. His story is a powerful reminder that the person you see struggling today has talents, dreams, and a future worth believing in.
