SELLEST OSAST
83% of applicants are now screened by AI before a human ever sees a name. The cold application success rate has dropped to a fraction of 1%. Boards, hiring committees, and PE operating partners are asking the AI question in almost every conversation now, and it is not a technical test. It is an identity test. Are you the executive evolving with this, or the one hoping it passes you by?
The gap between those two groups is compounding every single month.
But here is what almost nobody says out loud, and what this episode is really about.
It is not about intelligence. It is not about experience. Some of the most accomplished leaders are the furthest behind on this exact thing, and not because they cannot figure it out. It is because nobody has ever handed them a starting point that respects how little time they actually have.
Olivia shares a conversation from this week with an executive running what most people would call a dream role. Twenty years in. Smart. Accomplished. A resume that used to open every door by itself. And what she said stopped Olivia cold: "I know I'm supposed to be doing something with AI. I just don't know what that something actually is. I get home, my kids need me, my inbox never stops. By the time I have anything left over, I do not have it in me to become a student of an entirely new system on top of everything else I'm already holding."
That is not a capability problem. That is exhaustion. And almost every piece of AI advice circulating right now assumes executives have hours to spare that they simply do not have.
In this episode, Olivia names what most people are carrying without saying it out loud: you are not behind because you are lazy. You are behind because you are already maxed out. And overwhelmed is not a character flaw. It is a signal that the market moved faster than anyone gave you a system to keep up with it.
Olivia also gives the first pull-back-the-curtain look at Evolved Intelligence, something she has been building at the Career Evolved lab that turns AI literacy into a habit instead of a homework assignment, designed to run quietly in the background of an already full week rather than demanding you find hours that do not exist.
If you have been feeling behind this year, this episode is for you. Not because you lack talent. Because nobody ever gave you a map.
WHAT YOU WILL HEAR:
The real split happening right now between executives who are quietly sharpening their thinking with AI and the ones treating it like a rumor from someone else's industry.
Why boards, hiring committees, and PE partners are now asking the AI question as an identity test, not a technical one.
The story of a 20-year executive who said the quiet part out loud, and why her exhaustion, not her capability, was the real barrier.
Why overwhelmed is not a character flaw, and what it actually signals about the pace of the market versus the systems most executives were never given.
Why real transformation work quietly drifts away six months later without infrastructure running underneath it.
The first look at Evolved Intelligence, built specifically to install AI literacy, positioning, and relevance into an already-full week without asking you to become a different person.
