🎙️ Alan Lewis Raw Conversation #8 has just dropped – and it’s an absolute cracker! 🔥
Come join us for an unfiltered, heart-on-sleeve chat with legendary Australian landscape artist Max Butler – the self-taught master whose evocative oil paintings capture the soul of our wide brown land.
Once a devoted teacher and headmaster, Max swapped the classroom for the open road, spending seven unforgettable years travelling Australia in his beloved van Morrison, photographing the everyday beauty most of us drive past. Those journeys now fuel his stunning “My Country” series – works that have earned him a swag of prestigious awards, including:
- First Prize, Royal Queensland Art Society Annual Exhibition
- Multiple First Prizes at the Ascot and Miles Art Shows
- Highly Commended in the RQAS Artstate Awards
- Third Prize at the Royal Toowoomba Show
- We ask Max to pick from question 1 2 or 3 and Max answers with raw honesty: and we talk to Max about joys and challenges of fatherhood and marriage, the profound emotions of a life in education, and the sheer magic of turning dust and distance into timeless art.
This is the kind of deep, authentic yarn that reminds you why we love being Australian.
