Custer's last stand

On June 25–26, 1876, the Battle of the Little Bighorn became one of the most infamous military defeats in American history. General George Armstrong Custer and the 7th Cavalry faced a powerful coalition of Lakota Sioux, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho warriors in a battle that would become legendary as Custer’s Last Stand. What really happened on the banks of the Little Bighorn? Who were the warriors who fought back, what led to this historic confrontation, and how did the battle become such a lasting part of America's story? On this episode of The Willie Jackerson Experiment, we're diving into the history, the legends, and the reality behind the battle. Using historical material from the History Channel, exploring the musical storytelling of Civil War, and bringing my own creative vision to the table, this episode combines historical exploration with the raw power of heavy metal. Because this is The Willie Jackerson Experiment, we're not stopping at the history books. I've created an original song with original backing tracks to bring the story to life through music, adding another chapter to my ongoing experiment in blending history, storytelling, and metal. This isn't just a story about a famous last stand. It's a story about conflict, leadership, survival, and the human cost of war — including the Native American nations whose fight to defend their lands is central to understanding what happened. Turn it up, step back into 1876, and join me as we explore one of the most talked-about battles in the American West.
