Why do people who once professed faith in Jesus Christ eventually walk away from Christianity? On this edition of Priority Talk Radio, Greg Davis and Pastor Paul Brasher discuss biblical teacher David Jeremiah’s warning about three dangers that can cause people to abandon their faith: deception, disillusionment, and distraction.
Drawing from 2 Thessalonians 2, 1 Timothy 4, Luke 8, and 2 Corinthians 13, Greg and Paul examine how false teaching can lead people away from biblical truth, how hardship can expose a shallow spiritual foundation, and how the pursuit of worldly pleasures, possessions, and success can gradually crowd Christ out of our lives.
The conversation explores the importance of developing deep spiritual roots through biblical teaching and discipleship, maintaining a biblical worldview in a culture of competing beliefs, and helping new believers grow in their understanding of God's Word. They also discuss the responsibility of churches to teach biblical truth rather than assume people already know it.
The program concludes with a personal challenge from Scripture: Examine yourself. Do you know about Jesus, or do you truly know Him?
