Don Bentley Talks Double Tap, Mitch Rapp & Returning Characters (No Spoilers)

Don Bentley joins us to talk about Double Tap, the latest Mitch Rapp thriller and his newest entry in Vince Flynn’s bestselling series.

In this spoiler-free conversation, Don discusses writing a younger Mitch Rapp, continuing the American Assassin era of the series, and bringing familiar characters back into Rapp’s world. We also talk about the challenge of honoring what longtime Vince Flynn readers love while giving this early chapter of Mitch’s career its own urgency, danger, and emotional stakes.

Double Tap sends young CIA operative Mitch Rapp on his first deep-cover mission as he confronts a terrorist organization pursuing chemical weapons—while old alliances, enemies, and vendettas begin to collide. The novel continues the story immediately after Denied Access and arrives September 22, 2026.
