Leafs’ PATH to BOTTOM FIVE, Berube's questionable lineup decisions

The Toronto Maple Leafs edge closer to a bottom-five finish after an uninspired loss to the New York Islanders. With goaltender Artur Akhtyamov facing 44 shots in his NHL debut and the Leafs registering their highest expected goals against all season, questions mount about team motivation and Craig Berube's questionable lineup decisions. Mike DeStefano and Dave Morassutti give their thoughts on the Leafs not fully embracing younger players playing in the lineup, the impact of the Seattle Kraken’s shootout win on the Leafs’ draft odds, and the looming must-lose matchup against the Florida Panthers. The conversation also spotlights the latest on Toronto’s GM search, including the pursuit of Florida’s Sonny Mehta and the president search speculation.
