ACERCA DE ESTE EPISODIO
The cost argument for nearshoring is fading fast — and Brian Samson thinks that's exactly the point.
In this episode:
• Why English fluency still outpaces technical skill on pay in Latin America, and what that reveals about what companies are actually buying
• How AI has collapsed demand for junior engineers and sent companies hunting for senior talent with judgment — and why Latin America has a deep supply of exactly that
• The rubber band effect: why offshore fatigue is pulling companies back to near-shore, and how to calculate marginal benefit versus marginal cost honestly
• The onboarding mistake that quietly kills nearshore relationships before they start — and the fix that takes less than a week
Brian Samson is the Founder and Chairman of Plugg Technologies, a nearshoring firm with over eleven years of experience connecting U.S. and Canadian companies with senior Latin American tech talent. He has built three separate businesses past four million dollars in annual recurring revenue — all bootstrapped, all deliberate. Brian operates from a simple conviction: control matters more than capital, and the right hire has very little to do with code.
