ACERCA DE ESTE EPISODIO
What does it mean for Africa's educated diaspora to truly "return to the source" — and what are the counterfeits we must reject along the way?
At the 3rd National African Students' Association (NAfSA) Conference in Washington D.C. on April 24, 2026, The 4th Generation Initiative's Coordinating Director, Olemo Gordon Brian, delivered a keynote address drawing on Cabral, Fanon, Nyerere, and Nkrumah to wrestle with the most pressing question facing young Africans today: what is our generational mission, and are we fulfilling it or betraying it?
In this episode, Olemo interrogates three counterfeits of the return to the source — empty cultural performance, nostalgic Negritude, and opportunistic careerism — and offers a rigorous, honest account of what genuine commitment to the African revolution demands of this generation.
This is political education for those serious about Africa's transformation.
