Speaker 2: Welcome to this Abide Meditation. I'm Bonnie Curry, and I'm so glad you're here. You know, when Jesus was on earth, his disciples always had questions. So let's take a deep breath and settle in here. Let your body relax and your tension drain away. as you spend this time with God. What questions do you have for Jesus? The Gospel of Matthew tells us that one day, as Jesus was leaving the temple grounds, his disciples came along and wanted to take him on a tour of the various temple buildings. But he told them, All these buildings will be knocked down, with not one stone left on top of another. When will this happen? The disciples asked him later as he sat on the slopes of the Mount of Olives. And what events will signal your return at the end of the earth? The disciples may not have understood much, but they understood that Jesus was going to come back. and they were curious about what would happen. Jesus warned them to watch out for people claiming to be God or claiming to be able to predict the end times exactly. Jesus' warning is a good reminder that when we feel curious, we should seek answers from God. We should always let our curiosity point us to Him. curiosity is a gift to nurture god is always speaking to us through his word through his creation and through his holy spirit when you cultivate a heart of curiosity you learn to hear him and see him everywhere you go would you pray with me heavenly father we are so grateful that you have chosen to reveal yourself to us and that you have made us people who wonder. Please direct our wandering and wandering hearts to you and protect us from those who try to trick us. As we meditate on your word and abide in your presence now, tune our hearts to you and teach us to listen well. We ask this in the name of your Son, Jesus, our Savior. Amen. Take a deep breath. Whatever heavy things are weighing on you now, name them and then release them. Inhale again. And as you exhale, clear space in your body for the Word of God to settle into. Sometimes we become intentionally We don't want to know what God is saying or be invited to change. If you've been shutting down questions that you know are from the Holy Spirit, confess that now. Please pray with me. God, there are so many things I don't know. So many things I'm curious about. Help me to turn my curiosities to you. Give me wisdom to discern between people who speak truth and those who aim to deceive. Help me to know which questions to ask. and how to listen well for the answers. More than anything else, thank you for loving me and for promising to be with me always. I love you. In the name of Jesus, our Savior, I pray. Amen. Today, As questions arise in your heart and mind, and I hope they do, pause and thank God for making you a person of curiosity. And until next time, may you abide in Christ.
