ÜBER DIESE EPISODE
It’s our 23rd anniversary, and we’re celebrating the only way we know how: completely UNDRESSED, wildly inappropriate, and with one of Bravo’s most talked-about personalities, Janet Caperna of The Valley.
We’ve known Janet for nearly a decade, but this time we’re going all the way back to her pre-Bravo life in Columbus, Ohio — before the cameras, before The Valley, and before an unexpected poolside encounter with Scheana Shay changed the course of her Los Angeles story.
Janet tells us why getting married at 22 was far too young for her, how she realized she had outgrown her first marriage, and why a three-month trial run in Los Angeles became the beginning of an entirely new life. She takes us inside the hilariously unglamorous moment she and a friend showed up ready to actually swim at the Mondrian pool — only to find an ultra-L.A. scene where nobody was swimming and everyone was in heels.
Then Scheana walked in. Janet opens up about approaching the Vanderpump Rules star as a fan, the friendship that unexpectedly followed, their early stoner-girl bonding, and the unforgettable Disneyland birthday Scheana planned for her just days after Janet moved to L.A.
Of course, we have questions. Was Janet really the “Bravo stalker” people make her out to be? Why isn’t Scheana on The Valley? What does Janet think about Scheana stepping away from cameras after the fallout surrounding Brock Davies? And how close was Janet to Lala Kent before Lala joined The Valley?
Janet dishes on the real friendships behind the Bravo universe, including the
connection between their moms, Brittany Cartwright, Michelle Saniei and Lala Kent.
Then things get expensive — and outrageous. We talk vintage jewelry, Janet’s 1910 push-present ring, borrowing major pieces for Watch What Happens Live and the reunion, Pol’s massive diamonds, and the very real fear of being robbed. Janet shares the frightening reason she never hesitates to hand jewelry over if threatened.
And because chaos follows us everywhere, Janet turns the tables and asks US about Jeff Lewis, our viral American Airlines lounge showdown, missing luggage, our hacked account and the theft of roughly 500,000 AAdvantage miles. We unpack the 4:37 a.m. airport confrontation, the comment about our “Japanese friend,” the lounge-to-lounge tattletelling, and the viral video Janet joked could land us on the no-fly list
From Bravo fandom to friendship, divorce to reinvention, Scheana and Lala to Jeff Lewis, diamonds, Disneyland and airport drama, Janet gives us a funny, candid look at how a girl from Ohio found herself inside the world she once watched from her couch — and why she still refuses to play to the camera.
