ÜBER DIESE EPISODE
Can photography help us heal from the things we carry?
On this episode of The P.H.Y.S Podcast, I'm joined by John Hendrick, a New York City native now based in San Antonio, Texas, whose journey from combat medic to photographer is a powerful testament to resilience, healing, and transformation.
After years serving in the military and witnessing some of life's most challenging realities, John found himself searching for a way to process trauma, make sense of his experiences, and reconnect with the world around him.
That path led him to photography.
What began as a creative outlet became something much deeper—a way to reflect, heal, and ultimately find peace. Through his photography, John documents the beauty, resilience, and complexity of life, creating images that speak to both struggle and hope.
His work is rooted in authenticity. Every photograph carries a piece of his story and reflects the belief that creativity can help transform chaos into clarity.
As John says:
"Chaos to Clarity is not just a title. It's a story of transformation."
In this conversation, we explore military service, mental health, trauma, resilience, photography, and the profound role creativity can play in healing.
