Statistical Probabilities

WEBVTT
00:08.772 --> 00:15.862
[SPEAKER_01]: Hello everybody, welcome to the Delta Flyers journey through the wormhole with quirk dacks and their good friends Tom and Harry.
00:16.402 --> 00:20.187
[SPEAKER_01]: Join us as we make our way through episodes of Star Trek Deep Space 9.
00:20.912 --> 00:23.173
[SPEAKER_00]: You're a host for today, are my fellow trick actors.
00:23.533 --> 00:28.916
[SPEAKER_00]: Terry Farrow, Robert Duncan McNeill, and my self-care at one.
00:30.117 --> 00:31.098
[SPEAKER_02]: Aw, that was nice.
00:31.258 --> 00:31.918
[SPEAKER_00]: Go wild.
00:32.078 --> 00:32.698
[SPEAKER_02]: Nice singing.
00:32.919 --> 00:33.379
[SPEAKER_01]: You're welcome.
00:33.779 --> 00:34.279
[SPEAKER_02]: Nice singing.
00:34.439 --> 00:41.983
[SPEAKER_02]: Your singing reminds me of a movie that I saw last night called Songs on Blue, Hugh Jackman, Kate Hudson.
00:43.384 --> 00:45.124
[SPEAKER_02]: I love this movie.
00:45.285 --> 00:46.885
[SPEAKER_02]: All I'm going to say is go watch it.
00:47.165 --> 00:49.305
[SPEAKER_02]: It's it's an incredible film.
00:49.325 --> 00:51.026
[SPEAKER_02]: I was crying for two hours straight.
00:51.146 --> 00:51.706
[SPEAKER_02]: It was what?
00:52.266 --> 00:54.727
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, so newving song sung blue.
00:54.747 --> 00:56.467
[SPEAKER_00]: This is the Neil Diamond biopic.
00:56.567 --> 00:57.207
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm better.
00:57.327 --> 00:59.348
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's not a Neil Diamond biopic.
00:59.408 --> 01:09.170
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not a couple in Milwaukee that do kind of a Neil Diamond experience, but they're not impersonators, but they kind of are.
01:09.230 --> 01:10.810
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm definitely going to watch it now.
01:11.030 --> 01:13.091
[SPEAKER_00]: But honestly, Robbie, they didn't market it that way.
01:13.151 --> 01:17.693
[SPEAKER_00]: The way that the ads look like, it looks like he is playing Neil Diamond and he's not.
01:17.793 --> 01:22.135
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why it hesitated to watch it because I love Neil Diamond.
01:22.636 --> 01:26.878
[SPEAKER_01]: And I thought, you, Jack, man, he doesn't look like Neil Diamond and he's way too tall.
01:27.618 --> 01:29.679
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so this is awesome.
01:29.759 --> 01:30.299
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
01:30.379 --> 01:31.260
[SPEAKER_02]: You got to watch it.
01:31.380 --> 01:34.181
[SPEAKER_02]: I promise you, it is really wonderful.
01:34.241 --> 01:36.042
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not what I expected at all.
01:36.242 --> 01:37.183
[SPEAKER_00]: we are definitely going to check it out.
01:37.503 --> 01:49.692
[SPEAKER_00]: I also want to bring up the other time someone has raved about a film was yesterday, and that would have been Megan, Megan said that she saw the Odyssey, and it was absolutely hands down here at this world epic.
01:49.812 --> 01:51.113
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, three hour epic.
01:51.434 --> 01:51.694
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
01:52.234 --> 01:52.454
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
01:52.775 --> 01:53.055
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
01:53.255 --> 01:53.695
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, good.
01:53.735 --> 01:54.956
[SPEAKER_02]: We got to check that out too.
01:55.096 --> 02:02.142
[SPEAKER_02]: We have some birthdays, ladies and gentlemen, we have Don Arunion, an August 17th, happy birthday, Donna.
02:05.205 --> 02:12.157
[SPEAKER_00]: Happy birthday, Donna, and next up, we have Jason Eberl, Jason Eberl on August 22nd.
02:12.497 --> 02:13.399
[SPEAKER_00]: Happy birthday, Jason.
02:14.200 --> 02:15.843
[SPEAKER_01]: Happy birthday, Jason.
02:16.724 --> 02:17.786
[SPEAKER_02]: Happy birthday, Jason.
02:24.062 --> 02:27.907
[SPEAKER_02]: This is for the episode's statistical probabilities.
02:28.167 --> 02:30.350
[SPEAKER_02]: The future looked pretty darn grim.
02:30.531 --> 02:41.605
[SPEAKER_02]: The Federation's chance of survival was slim, but one person stood and did what they could and made bad outcomes a little less dim.
02:43.528 --> 02:44.228
[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
02:44.248 --> 02:44.849
[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
02:44.989 --> 02:45.749
[SPEAKER_01]: Take care.
02:45.769 --> 02:46.890
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's hear what you got for us.
02:46.990 --> 02:47.550
[SPEAKER_01]: Here we go.
02:47.690 --> 02:49.552
[SPEAKER_01]: Kukus Nest abound.
02:49.872 --> 02:51.273
[SPEAKER_01]: Play time is over.
02:51.553 --> 02:53.094
[SPEAKER_01]: The Dominions around.
02:53.554 --> 02:54.615
[SPEAKER_01]: Meglamania.
02:54.995 --> 02:56.256
[SPEAKER_01]: Trees and is okay.
02:56.876 --> 02:59.178
[SPEAKER_01]: The sheer dashes in to save the day.
03:01.411 --> 03:02.912
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, golf clap and that one.
03:02.932 --> 03:03.912
[SPEAKER_00]: That was very good.
03:04.193 --> 03:05.073
[SPEAKER_00]: Very mega man.
03:05.173 --> 03:05.494
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
03:05.614 --> 03:08.556
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you got it a lot of good stuff there.
03:08.736 --> 03:10.417
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, starting with Kukus Nass.
03:10.677 --> 03:12.358
[SPEAKER_00]: You had me at Kukus Nass, the media.
03:12.378 --> 03:12.578
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
03:12.638 --> 03:12.919
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
03:12.979 --> 03:14.159
[SPEAKER_00]: It's good choice.
03:14.219 --> 03:14.600
[SPEAKER_00]: Good choice.
03:14.620 --> 03:15.220
[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
03:15.580 --> 03:16.221
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
03:16.261 --> 03:17.922
[SPEAKER_00]: Here's my high coup for this episode.
03:18.062 --> 03:22.085
[SPEAKER_00]: Doc Camp Counselor, Puppet Demar calls for peace.
03:23.332 --> 03:25.593
[SPEAKER_00]: Almost all was lost.
03:26.934 --> 03:28.155
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I like it.
03:28.415 --> 03:29.396
[SPEAKER_01]: I like it too.
03:29.596 --> 03:30.416
[SPEAKER_01]: Bravo.
03:30.576 --> 03:31.337
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much.
03:31.777 --> 03:31.917
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
03:31.937 --> 03:35.679
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go to one of our Patron Patron poetry winner.
03:36.119 --> 03:39.201
[SPEAKER_00]: That is a Limerick submitted by Jenny Cordina.
03:39.241 --> 03:44.124
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm so happy you chose a Limerick Jenny, because now I can finally recite a Limerick.
03:44.144 --> 03:45.044
[SPEAKER_00]: I've been doing High Coos.
03:45.064 --> 03:47.025
[SPEAKER_00]: This whole DS9 review.
03:47.306 --> 03:47.726
[SPEAKER_00]: Here we go.
03:48.206 --> 03:48.967
[SPEAKER_00]: Jenny Cordina's
03:50.087 --> 03:53.050
[SPEAKER_00]: Limerick, forced statistical probabilities.
03:53.910 --> 04:03.098
[SPEAKER_00]: There once was a mutant Bashir, who trusted the minds of his peers, he listened all day, then chose his own way, when wisdom proved greater than fear.
04:03.438 --> 04:04.419
[SPEAKER_00]: Nice, Jenny.
04:04.439 --> 04:04.519
[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
04:05.260 --> 04:08.522
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think that was really excellent.
04:08.562 --> 04:10.824
[SPEAKER_02]: We also have an honorable mention.
04:11.104 --> 04:12.506
[SPEAKER_02]: This is a rhyming narrative
04:15.528 --> 04:36.678
[SPEAKER_02]: When probabilities statistically align and those enhanced presumed to know what's best, the paths that spring from their brilliant minds spell danger both for them and for the rest, yet numbers fail to see what passion can and randomness will always have its say, no matter how one formulates a plan, some futures chart their own unwritten way.
04:37.538 --> 04:38.798
[SPEAKER_02]: Nice Jason.
04:39.458 --> 04:40.399
[SPEAKER_02]: Good job.
04:40.719 --> 04:40.979
[SPEAKER_02]: Good job.
04:40.999 --> 04:41.679
[SPEAKER_01]: Excellent.
04:42.039 --> 04:43.079
[SPEAKER_01]: I like the deep end.
04:43.219 --> 04:44.199
[SPEAKER_01]: This was in the deep end.
04:44.239 --> 04:45.900
[SPEAKER_02]: I know Jason always goes to the deep end.
04:46.320 --> 04:46.580
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
04:46.640 --> 04:47.080
[SPEAKER_00]: He does.
04:47.500 --> 04:50.561
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go through some stats or some facts here.
04:50.861 --> 04:53.161
[SPEAKER_00]: This is a story by Pam.
04:53.821 --> 04:54.861
[SPEAKER_00]: I love this last name.
04:55.261 --> 04:56.282
[SPEAKER_00]: Pietro Forte.
04:56.562 --> 04:58.302
[SPEAKER_00]: What a beautiful Italian last name.
04:58.342 --> 04:58.842
[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
04:58.862 --> 04:59.342
[SPEAKER_00]: Very nice.
04:59.582 --> 04:59.982
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
05:00.062 --> 05:01.123
[SPEAKER_01]: Well said.
05:01.163 --> 05:02.903
[SPEAKER_00]: Have we ever heard this name before?
05:03.323 --> 05:14.311
[SPEAKER_00]: No, this is the first time I've heard of Pam and definitely be it to refer to, tell a play by Renee Ishavaria, directed by Anson Williams, our buddy, our buddy, and we love Anson.
05:14.512 --> 05:15.332
[SPEAKER_00]: We love Anson.
05:15.352 --> 05:17.634
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, guest stars, Jeffrey Combs, as we
05:25.740 --> 05:31.403
[SPEAKER_00]: Michael Keenan as Patrick, Casey Biggs as Demar, Faith C. Saley as Serena Douglas.
05:31.703 --> 05:34.605
[SPEAKER_02]: Full disclosure, Tim Ransom is a very dear friend of mine.
05:34.905 --> 05:35.605
[SPEAKER_02]: Really?
05:35.805 --> 05:41.208
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I've known Tim since we were both New York actors back in the 80s.
05:41.228 --> 05:41.328
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
05:41.688 --> 05:48.092
[SPEAKER_02]: He was one of the founding members of a theater company called Naked Angels, which I wanted to be in so badly.
05:49.313 --> 05:50.715
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, come on and cool people.
05:50.915 --> 05:51.936
[SPEAKER_02]: We're in naked angels.
05:52.196 --> 05:52.517
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
05:52.657 --> 05:53.057
[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
05:53.237 --> 05:54.839
[SPEAKER_01]: They missed one cool person.
05:55.300 --> 05:56.321
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wrong.
05:56.341 --> 05:58.723
[SPEAKER_02]: They're a total array member in our eyes.
05:59.064 --> 06:01.767
[SPEAKER_02]: All of us should have been members of naked angels.
06:01.987 --> 06:03.929
[SPEAKER_01]: He also read for Dr. Bashir.
06:04.129 --> 06:04.830
[SPEAKER_02]: Did he really?
06:05.110 --> 06:05.451
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
06:06.071 --> 06:07.033
[SPEAKER_02]: Interesting.
06:07.113 --> 06:07.393
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
06:07.929 --> 06:09.951
[SPEAKER_02]: Wow, that wouldn't have been a very different way.
06:10.091 --> 06:11.032
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, trivia.
06:11.312 --> 06:14.594
[SPEAKER_00]: This is one of Alexander Sidig's favorite episodes.
06:14.675 --> 06:17.157
[SPEAKER_00]: People ask, what was that a comedy or drama?
06:17.277 --> 06:19.358
[SPEAKER_00]: A statistical probabilities was like that.
06:19.458 --> 06:20.980
[SPEAKER_00]: Not quite one thing or another.
06:22.000 --> 06:26.224
[SPEAKER_00]: The humor came out of the misery and angst captured by those wonderful actors.
06:26.424 --> 06:30.447
[SPEAKER_00]: And I enjoyed the fact that Perciere served as a kind of pinball throughout that show.
06:30.808 --> 06:32.069
[SPEAKER_00]: He was just battered about.
06:32.289 --> 06:34.351
[SPEAKER_00]: So Sidig, Sid love this show.
06:37.513 --> 06:43.516
[SPEAKER_00]: foundation trilogy, which of course we know that Roxanne went on to direct the future.
06:43.816 --> 06:44.677
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's right.
06:45.017 --> 06:46.017
[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
06:46.218 --> 06:47.538
[SPEAKER_02]: It works on foundation.
06:47.578 --> 06:48.239
[SPEAKER_02]: This series.
06:48.299 --> 06:48.919
[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
06:50.140 --> 06:55.462
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, the character of Jack is based on Dean Moriarty, one of the main characters of the
06:59.004 --> 07:01.185
[SPEAKER_00]: I want to be philosopher who talks in my limited.
07:01.385 --> 07:03.545
[SPEAKER_02]: He did feel very Jack Kerroaki.
07:03.685 --> 07:04.465
[SPEAKER_02]: Did you feel that too?
07:04.765 --> 07:10.347
[SPEAKER_02]: I felt it a bit like, yeah, kind of that jazz kind of talk, like a little non-sequitor.
07:10.367 --> 07:11.067
[SPEAKER_01]: No manic.
07:11.327 --> 07:12.387
[SPEAKER_02]: A little manic, yeah.
07:13.028 --> 07:18.849
[SPEAKER_02]: The episode aired on November 24th, 1997 for those keeping score, checking your calendars.
07:18.989 --> 07:20.069
[SPEAKER_01]: Right after our birthdays.
07:20.329 --> 07:21.810
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, right after our birthdays.
07:22.830 --> 07:26.853
[SPEAKER_02]: What we start off in the cargo bay, the cargo bay has been turned into quarters.
07:26.913 --> 07:30.396
[SPEAKER_02]: I was a little confused to be honest, like what was going on here.
07:30.696 --> 07:34.479
[SPEAKER_02]: Seeing Tim ransom, of course, was really exciting for me.
07:34.819 --> 07:35.340
[SPEAKER_02]: I love him.
07:35.480 --> 07:38.863
[SPEAKER_02]: Tim's just such a wonderful human being and good guy.
07:38.923 --> 07:43.326
[SPEAKER_02]: And like I said, we were young actors in New York back then.
07:43.386 --> 07:45.067
[SPEAKER_02]: It was just such a different world.
07:45.488 --> 07:47.529
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we were both starting out.
07:47.609 --> 07:48.950
[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was going to be a movie star.
07:49.090 --> 07:51.933
[SPEAKER_02]: He was one of those characters in my mind.
07:52.453 --> 07:56.194
[SPEAKER_00]: Did you know that he was on DS9 before you watched this episode run?
07:56.214 --> 07:57.035
[SPEAKER_00]: No.
07:57.055 --> 07:58.375
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, complete surprise for you.
07:58.915 --> 08:00.076
[SPEAKER_01]: That's fine.
08:00.176 --> 08:02.336
[SPEAKER_01]: How great see a friend like that.
08:02.597 --> 08:03.037
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
08:03.057 --> 08:04.497
[SPEAKER_01]: I do have a comment though.
08:04.577 --> 08:07.338
[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel a little guilty, especially after build up.
08:07.358 --> 08:13.640
[SPEAKER_01]: There was an affectation he was doing that felt, uh, I don't know how to describe it.
08:13.680 --> 08:14.541
[SPEAKER_01]: Performative.
08:14.621 --> 08:16.341
[SPEAKER_01]: It didn't feel organic.
08:17.022 --> 08:17.242
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
08:17.382 --> 08:17.862
[SPEAKER_01]: And it just.
08:19.692 --> 08:32.058
[SPEAKER_01]: You mean when he was a little extra little thing, yeah, it wasn't consistent throughout the show and I just loved what he was doing and it didn't feel like he needed that
08:40.863 --> 08:45.246
[SPEAKER_02]: We talked about the director, Ansum Williams, who we both said, we love Ansum.
08:45.366 --> 08:46.366
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, I loved him too.
08:46.406 --> 08:48.147
[SPEAKER_01]: He was super nice guy too.
08:48.288 --> 08:54.791
[SPEAKER_02]: In my opinion, this is one of the least good directing episodes of your show.
08:55.012 --> 08:58.113
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it was well-managed in terms of shot making.
08:58.794 --> 09:05.318
[SPEAKER_02]: The shots did not support where the story was, and I really don't think the actors were directed much.
09:06.338 --> 09:09.079
[SPEAKER_02]: In my opinion, I don't think Sid was directed.
09:09.099 --> 09:09.759
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think.
09:09.899 --> 09:13.300
[SPEAKER_02]: Column was directed or Hillary or any of the guest stars.
09:13.560 --> 09:17.521
[SPEAKER_02]: They were just all kind of doing a different story almost.
09:17.701 --> 09:24.683
[SPEAKER_02]: And so I was, I would put a lot of that on kind of the cohesiveness of a director saying, no, here's where our story is.
09:25.103 --> 09:26.143
[SPEAKER_02]: Here's where the stakes are.
09:26.463 --> 09:28.344
[SPEAKER_02]: Here's what you're trying to come in the room to do.
09:28.464 --> 09:28.664
[SPEAKER_02]: Here's
09:29.420 --> 09:30.661
[SPEAKER_02]: Here's how important it is.
09:30.761 --> 09:31.902
[SPEAKER_02]: Here's where the turn is.
09:32.322 --> 09:42.328
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and one of the reasons I said, Kukus Nest is because I really wanted this group of characters to feel more realistic like Kukus Nest.
09:42.668 --> 09:42.868
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
09:42.888 --> 09:50.453
[SPEAKER_01]: So it felt like there was more at stake, making them a little that kind of be a dreamy cartoony vibe.
09:50.753 --> 09:54.656
[SPEAKER_02]: kind of two-dimensional instead of real three-dimensional characters.
09:54.816 --> 10:04.682
[SPEAKER_02]: I totally agree and I think because I've heard people talk about these characters sort of represent for a lot of people neurodivergent.
10:05.242 --> 10:08.324
[SPEAKER_02]: people in real life that they represent that experience.
10:08.804 --> 10:11.366
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it was taken quite as seriously.
10:11.646 --> 10:12.607
[SPEAKER_01]: I wish it would have been.
10:12.627 --> 10:17.210
[SPEAKER_01]: I wish it would have been to a lot of people could have related and felt seen.
10:17.590 --> 10:17.771
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
10:18.151 --> 10:18.371
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
10:18.551 --> 10:18.711
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
10:18.731 --> 10:19.072
[SPEAKER_02]: I agree.
10:19.412 --> 10:20.252
[SPEAKER_01]: That would have been great.
10:20.733 --> 10:20.953
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
10:21.133 --> 10:21.473
[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
10:21.533 --> 10:23.174
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we start off in the cargo bay.
10:23.214 --> 10:26.817
[SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of redressed as a communal living space sort of thing.
10:28.098 --> 10:30.900
[SPEAKER_02]: And we meet all these genetically enhanced patients.
10:31.640 --> 10:32.361
[SPEAKER_02]: We meet Jack.
10:32.401 --> 10:33.301
[SPEAKER_02]: He's raging about being
10:34.703 --> 10:39.010
[SPEAKER_02]: Meet Patrick, who's very emotional, pleading not to be left behind.
10:39.070 --> 10:44.560
[SPEAKER_02]: We've got lows, Dr. Lowe's trying to calm them all down.
10:45.663 --> 10:51.624
[SPEAKER_02]: And she explains that Bashir, who's also genetically enhanced, is gonna work with them for a little while.
10:51.904 --> 11:03.407
[SPEAKER_02]: And we also meet Lauren in there who flirt over Bashir's pad bio, which I thought the pad when she showed his photo, it looked like a sticker on the prop to me.
11:03.707 --> 11:05.608
[SPEAKER_02]: Because it looked like a screen.
11:06.208 --> 11:07.848
[SPEAKER_02]: And it was, it was, yeah.
11:08.008 --> 11:12.369
[SPEAKER_02]: But I wish it was a little more like shiny, like a screen, or I don't know, something.
11:12.429 --> 11:13.790
[SPEAKER_02]: The prop when they turned it around,
11:15.610 --> 11:16.451
[SPEAKER_02]: That's the 90s.
11:16.851 --> 11:19.613
[SPEAKER_01]: It did not look like there was glass on it at all.
11:19.893 --> 11:25.597
[SPEAKER_02]: But Jack takes this pad, he smashes it and deliberately cuts low his hand with a broken plastic.
11:25.777 --> 11:28.138
[SPEAKER_00]: Or glass, it could have been glass, too, right?
11:28.238 --> 11:29.699
[SPEAKER_01]: That was my impression.
11:29.899 --> 11:31.941
[SPEAKER_00]: This is where they lost me right off the bat.
11:32.061 --> 11:38.105
[SPEAKER_00]: I really felt that maybe Anson could have said to that guest actor, to minute it slices your hand.
11:38.385 --> 11:47.749
[SPEAKER_00]: React, like with the way a normal girl, yes, like she did not, this is what happened, like this is her hand, it scratches it, her face is exactly the same, like nothing happened.
11:48.209 --> 11:49.070
[SPEAKER_00]: I know if I get cut.
11:49.110 --> 11:52.832
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, there's an immediacy that much blood.
11:52.872 --> 11:54.592
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, a lot of blood so fast.
11:54.612 --> 11:59.455
[SPEAKER_00]: You would have yelp or definitely made a sound, which had a reaction, not a distant completely.
11:59.495 --> 12:04.757
[SPEAKER_02]: There was a lot of that natural is behavior that it was lost in this episode.
12:05.097 --> 12:06.438
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, as a viewer.
12:07.598 --> 12:11.379
[SPEAKER_02]: As a director, I know if I wanted to go, no, no, no, that's not, don't play it that way.
12:11.459 --> 12:11.799
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
12:11.859 --> 12:13.399
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go back and do it again.
12:13.900 --> 12:15.640
[SPEAKER_01]: So is that the director, Robbie?
12:15.880 --> 12:16.440
[SPEAKER_02]: It should be.
12:16.760 --> 12:17.060
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
12:17.480 --> 12:18.161
[SPEAKER_02]: I think so.
12:18.421 --> 12:23.602
[SPEAKER_02]: You guys know, Intellivision did the director's come up with notes for you, performance or something.
12:23.642 --> 12:24.522
[SPEAKER_01]: Most of the time, no.
12:24.542 --> 12:25.082
[SPEAKER_02]: No, right?
12:25.782 --> 12:26.843
[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes, yes.
12:27.663 --> 12:27.863
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
12:28.143 --> 12:28.883
[SPEAKER_00]: But it's rare.
12:29.463 --> 12:30.503
[SPEAKER_01]: It's rare.
12:30.864 --> 12:31.904
[SPEAKER_01]: Like less wood.
12:32.424 --> 12:32.644
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
12:33.124 --> 12:33.924
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
12:34.184 --> 12:34.404
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
12:34.444 --> 12:36.725
[SPEAKER_01]: He would come in and just give you like a little
12:38.028 --> 13:05.209
[SPEAKER_01]: a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, a little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little nut, little
13:06.061 --> 13:06.481
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
13:07.161 --> 13:09.482
[SPEAKER_02]: He did want to fit in like a fellow actor almost.
13:09.522 --> 13:11.642
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, be pals in the group.
13:11.982 --> 13:13.663
[SPEAKER_01]: And not that it's bad.
13:13.703 --> 13:14.843
[SPEAKER_01]: But I think it's kind of funny.
13:14.883 --> 13:17.904
[SPEAKER_01]: I remember that in thinking, wow, he's so accomplished.
13:17.944 --> 13:19.824
[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder why he'd feel uncomfortable.
13:20.164 --> 13:20.384
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
13:20.564 --> 13:24.385
[SPEAKER_01]: And I pick up on that because I feel that way sometimes that awkward.
13:24.465 --> 13:26.566
[SPEAKER_01]: I want to fit in and rock the boat.
13:28.363 --> 13:39.053
[SPEAKER_00]: But you're right, Robbie, when he came on the set and I first met him, he acted like another actor coming in to the same energy that he gave us was a little nervous to meet their calves.
13:39.133 --> 13:41.416
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you didn't feel like a director.
13:41.436 --> 13:42.156
[SPEAKER_00]: No.
13:42.396 --> 13:42.797
[SPEAKER_00]: No.
13:43.217 --> 13:47.001
[SPEAKER_01]: There wasn't the gravitas of I'm in control of what's happening here.
13:47.561 --> 13:47.782
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
13:48.082 --> 13:52.086
[SPEAKER_01]: Even when a director's faking it to make it, you can feel that sense of
13:52.386 --> 13:58.188
[SPEAKER_01]: the effort to be in charge of the effort to sort of leave the buck stops here but don't get me wrong.
13:58.208 --> 13:59.468
[SPEAKER_00]: I still think he's a good director.
13:59.608 --> 14:03.250
[SPEAKER_00]: I just say when I first met him, it came off like fellow actors.
14:03.630 --> 14:05.330
[SPEAKER_01]: No, you don't have to feel bad about that.
14:05.390 --> 14:06.271
[SPEAKER_01]: We all all agree.
14:06.291 --> 14:07.211
[SPEAKER_01]: We really liked him.
14:07.251 --> 14:11.572
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just the episode is like this episode is not great work.
14:11.652 --> 14:13.753
[SPEAKER_02]: He directed an episode of Voyager called real life.
14:14.213 --> 14:16.275
[SPEAKER_02]: And that's one of my favorite episodes of Voyager.
14:16.435 --> 14:17.175
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, right.
14:17.535 --> 14:18.456
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, well-acted.
14:18.536 --> 14:29.503
[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, this is just one, whether it was his first time and he wasn't giving you know adjustments or maybe he gave the adjustments the actor still did what they did.
14:29.744 --> 14:30.264
[SPEAKER_02]: Who knows?
14:30.504 --> 14:30.844
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
14:30.924 --> 14:32.786
[SPEAKER_01]: Or maybe the officer, no, no, no.
14:33.286 --> 14:33.526
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
14:34.087 --> 14:34.687
[SPEAKER_01]: I want this.
14:35.287 --> 14:37.349
[SPEAKER_02]: I think this could have been a better episode if...
14:38.545 --> 14:52.629
[SPEAKER_02]: if all of the actors have been directed, and I will say, I think Sydney did a director, even if this is one of his favorite episodes, I don't think this does Bashir a good service this episode honestly, I don't think it does.
14:52.789 --> 14:58.851
[SPEAKER_02]: And part of it is not because the characters genetically enhance which I think that was maybe a mistake in my opinion that they.
14:59.431 --> 15:01.092
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I agree.
15:01.292 --> 15:08.576
[SPEAKER_02]: I think just for this episode, Sid's goal was not very clear I don't know what his goal was to hang out with these people.
15:08.737 --> 15:17.502
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's why I said doc camp counselor When did he find out he was genetically altered this season or they're last end of last week He didn't know before that.
15:17.522 --> 15:20.123
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you know what he knew.
15:20.383 --> 15:20.944
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he knew.
15:21.104 --> 15:21.404
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
15:21.604 --> 15:23.105
[SPEAKER_01]: That confused me for a moment
15:23.345 --> 15:29.569
[SPEAKER_02]: And he says in the story, the character says that he found out he was genetically enhanced when he was 15 years old.
15:29.849 --> 15:30.150
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
15:30.410 --> 15:30.910
[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
15:31.030 --> 15:37.294
[SPEAKER_02]: The character knew before he got on to DS9 that he had a secret and he had a, you know, a skill.
15:37.475 --> 15:42.358
[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, so we're basically introduced to these, these four characters as a four, yes, the four characters.
15:43.158 --> 15:46.801
[SPEAKER_00]: And my question was, where they're, these are the only four that are generic.
15:47.021 --> 15:49.383
[SPEAKER_00]: It's medically enhanced and on all of Starfleet.
15:49.683 --> 15:52.146
[SPEAKER_00]: It made me these are the four most special, I guess.
15:52.166 --> 15:54.087
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they're not in Starfleet.
15:54.288 --> 16:05.698
[SPEAKER_00]: Excuse me, yes, are these the four that Starfleet are examining or just or studying because they're the most genius of all of them, because it seems like a lot of people did this.
16:06.158 --> 16:08.859
[SPEAKER_00]: Back in the day, it wasn't just, you know, 10 p.d.
16:09.299 --> 16:10.499
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was a lot more.
16:10.699 --> 16:19.141
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't remember what she said at the beginning or maybe it's Bashir that describes it about her wanting them to meet Bashir.
16:19.321 --> 16:23.862
[SPEAKER_01]: So they could see someone who is like together.
16:23.882 --> 16:24.762
[SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm.
16:25.143 --> 16:30.884
[SPEAKER_01]: But there are some issues with these characters that seem very deep-seated.
16:30.904 --> 16:31.144
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
16:31.184 --> 16:33.144
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think they should have made it clear that it's
16:36.706 --> 16:36.926
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
16:37.006 --> 16:44.211
[SPEAKER_01]: That they were too enhanced in one direction or the other and it hurt their ability to cope.
16:45.220 --> 16:45.980
[SPEAKER_01]: and what ever way.
16:46.280 --> 16:46.520
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
16:46.880 --> 16:47.060
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
16:47.100 --> 16:51.461
[SPEAKER_02]: Wasn't quite clear why they were here and what Bashir was supposed to be doing.
16:51.662 --> 16:52.002
[SPEAKER_02]: Correct.
16:52.122 --> 16:53.522
[SPEAKER_02]: Other than just hang out with them.
16:53.742 --> 16:53.982
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
16:54.682 --> 16:56.023
[SPEAKER_00]: Even the hand-off was weird.
16:56.083 --> 16:58.903
[SPEAKER_00]: So after she's talking after Lowe's talk to them, she's like, sorry.
16:58.923 --> 17:00.344
[SPEAKER_00]: I got to go Bashir want.
17:00.364 --> 17:01.124
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll take care of you.
17:01.424 --> 17:07.165
[SPEAKER_00]: She walks out the cargo boat towards and Bashir's standing right there, which again was a little odd to me.
17:07.545 --> 17:13.127
[SPEAKER_00]: But she explains that Jack, because Bashir notices her bandaged hand or
17:15.668 --> 17:20.532
[SPEAKER_00]: And he tells her that you have to be careful, you know, with Jack watch out for Jack.
17:20.592 --> 17:20.852
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
17:20.872 --> 17:23.835
[SPEAKER_00]: He seems to be a little, a little, um, a group.
17:23.915 --> 17:26.097
[SPEAKER_00]: He, what's the term unpredictable?
17:26.257 --> 17:27.278
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's be a good way to say it.
17:27.298 --> 17:28.740
[SPEAKER_02]: So he says don't turn your back on him.
17:28.840 --> 17:29.600
[SPEAKER_02]: Don't turn your back on him.
17:29.620 --> 17:30.241
[SPEAKER_02]: Don't trust him.
17:30.521 --> 17:30.701
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
17:31.362 --> 17:32.624
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so he's like, all right, I'm good.
17:33.665 --> 17:34.866
[SPEAKER_00]: He goes into the cargo bay.
17:35.006 --> 17:41.354
[SPEAKER_00]: Now the room is dark, someone's turn out the lights and Bashir basically starts talking to.
17:41.474 --> 17:50.285
[SPEAKER_00]: He's he knows they're in there and he understands how genetically engineered people are, but the lights do eventually get turned on and this is his introduction to the gang.
17:50.525 --> 17:51.406
[SPEAKER_00]: It's all four of them.
17:51.546 --> 18:01.955
[SPEAKER_00]: This is where Jack starts calling out Bashir's family name and his relation to the poet and how that poet was completely derivative or plagiarist.
18:01.995 --> 18:04.497
[SPEAKER_00]: So he's already, he's cutting him down immediately.
18:07.259 --> 18:07.880
[SPEAKER_00]: Interesting scene.
18:08.100 --> 18:13.462
[SPEAKER_00]: I've never seen anything like this in track to be honest this type of grouping of characters and Jack was saying, you know, you cut a deal.
18:13.502 --> 18:16.264
[SPEAKER_02]: You betrayed us your people, basically.
18:16.364 --> 18:16.564
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
18:16.784 --> 18:22.567
[SPEAKER_02]: The deal was starfleet to instead of being institutionalized like the rest of them were.
18:22.907 --> 18:23.688
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
18:24.068 --> 18:28.830
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, Jack's very resentful of that and Lauren Lauren is very flirty.
18:28.930 --> 18:32.092
[SPEAKER_02]: She's like the over, you know, sex forward.
18:33.253 --> 18:57.805
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, genetically enhanced see yeah now the actors that plays Lauren wasn't she on power Rangers isn't she well known I think so yeah, she was a series regular on power Rangers She played the main um that the main heavy the main bad person bad person yeah, yeah, you know She read for Lanar's part in Be joined oh You could have ended up kissing Hillary that
18:58.225 --> 18:58.565
[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
18:58.945 --> 19:02.206
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Hillary seems like a tall, tall actress.
19:02.266 --> 19:04.987
[SPEAKER_00]: She fairly tall as well, or am I just, just not.
19:05.007 --> 19:08.847
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really remember because when I was in the, of course, they're sitting and we're sitting.
19:09.187 --> 19:10.548
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you can't tell how you sit.
19:10.588 --> 19:12.668
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, and tall compared to who?
19:13.368 --> 19:14.449
[SPEAKER_00]: To you.
19:14.569 --> 19:17.389
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't, uh, was he other one?
19:17.549 --> 19:18.509
[SPEAKER_01]: Tracy.
19:19.049 --> 19:19.510
[SPEAKER_00]: Skuggins?
19:20.570 --> 19:21.230
[SPEAKER_01]: She's tall.
19:22.412 --> 19:22.852
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, really?
19:22.872 --> 19:23.913
[SPEAKER_01]: He's like five, 10.
19:24.913 --> 19:26.154
[SPEAKER_01]: I would consider that tall.
19:26.414 --> 19:29.116
[SPEAKER_01]: But I have a feeling that Hillary's more like five, eight.
19:29.316 --> 19:41.742
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we do learn in the scene that, you know, that these genetically enhanced characters were meeting were barred from doing a lot of things, certain professions, that there was the Eugenics War as referenced in this.
19:42.042 --> 19:53.759
[SPEAKER_02]: So Bashir defends his choices and tells them that they can be productive members of society just like him and did you notice that Sid was whispering a lot in this opening scene?
19:53.960 --> 19:57.665
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he was whispering and his energy was very
19:58.526 --> 20:01.768
[SPEAKER_02]: And it was like, oh, okay, so he's going to be like a counselor to them.
20:01.828 --> 20:03.989
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I said.
20:04.009 --> 20:06.591
[SPEAKER_00]: My high coup, I said, Doc Camp Council.
20:06.611 --> 20:08.232
[SPEAKER_00]: This felt like it was summer camp.
20:08.612 --> 20:12.674
[SPEAKER_00]: These were, and he was someone who was like the, like the campes.
20:13.355 --> 20:16.316
[SPEAKER_00]: He has the same, you know, genetic enhancement.
20:16.576 --> 20:17.497
[SPEAKER_00]: And he's their counselor.
20:17.517 --> 20:18.658
[SPEAKER_00]: He's just guiding them through.
20:18.718 --> 20:19.118
[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
20:19.650 --> 20:24.311
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but they're not communicating and it's not the same is said.
20:24.331 --> 20:25.471
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Bashir.
20:25.731 --> 20:28.932
[SPEAKER_01]: So they can't do the same.
20:29.112 --> 20:32.053
[SPEAKER_01]: They can't be productive in the same way that Bashir is.
20:32.473 --> 20:34.093
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, especially Jack.
20:35.474 --> 20:39.795
[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't remember the other name of the the other gentleman in the show.
20:40.255 --> 20:41.435
[SPEAKER_01]: Patrick couldn't either.
20:41.979 --> 20:43.120
[SPEAKER_02]: No, none of them could.
20:43.441 --> 20:45.323
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, and look at Serena.
20:45.643 --> 20:47.385
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Serena can even talk to anyone.
20:47.405 --> 20:48.386
[SPEAKER_00]: She can't even talk to anyone.
20:48.726 --> 20:49.067
[SPEAKER_01]: No.
20:49.447 --> 20:55.554
[SPEAKER_01]: It bothers me about the writing that you're making it sound like all they need is Dr. Bashir.
20:55.574 --> 21:01.460
[SPEAKER_01]: And then they're going to suddenly they're going to be OK and they're going to have perspective and.
21:02.321 --> 21:02.541
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
21:03.081 --> 21:03.402
[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
21:04.102 --> 21:08.604
[SPEAKER_02]: We do learn in this scene, though, Bashir tells what kind of enhancements he had.
21:09.085 --> 21:19.350
[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not sure if I've heard him say it quite this explicitly before, but he talks about mental abilities mostly, hand-eye coordination, reflexes, and vision was improved.
21:19.851 --> 21:20.311
[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
21:20.752 --> 21:23.994
[SPEAKER_02]: And that's when Jack does a back flip for to show off, I guess.
21:24.574 --> 21:31.018
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that had to be a stunt man though because they shot it into shots and it was like, Oh, that's too bad.
21:31.058 --> 21:34.820
[SPEAKER_01]: That would look so cool if you really, if the actor really did it.
21:35.804 --> 21:37.826
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, is your buddy athletic like that, Robbie?
21:37.906 --> 21:38.826
[SPEAKER_01]: Could you have done that?
21:38.886 --> 21:39.967
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he did a back club.
21:40.207 --> 21:41.748
[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's a lot to ask.
21:41.808 --> 21:43.009
[SPEAKER_01]: That was so succinct.
21:43.990 --> 21:51.035
[SPEAKER_02]: This also reminded me, Garrett, of that episode where you went into the, with Michael McKeean, the clown episode.
21:51.055 --> 21:52.637
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, that's the fall from Boyd.
21:52.657 --> 21:53.197
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's all.
21:53.417 --> 21:59.902
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it reminded me of that sort of weird, kind of circus, you know, nightcare, circus vibe.
22:00.302 --> 22:01.663
[SPEAKER_02]: It had a tone like that.
22:01.743 --> 22:02.424
[SPEAKER_02]: It really did.
22:02.993 --> 22:17.473
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I wanted weirder shots to or more creative like to kind of illustrate the same highlight their personalities, you know, instead of being so straightforward, there wasn't a lot of movement was there no, no, not much at all.
22:18.461 --> 22:29.196
[SPEAKER_02]: And a lot of runners and long kind of three shots scenes without, you know, singles and coverage of characters would have been interesting to see David Livingston take the script on.
22:29.377 --> 22:30.258
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
22:30.358 --> 22:31.900
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, would have been very different.
22:31.920 --> 22:32.381
[SPEAKER_02]: Definitely.
22:33.322 --> 22:33.783
[SPEAKER_02]: Episode.
22:34.506 --> 22:36.167
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we go to Cisco's quarters next.
22:36.287 --> 22:38.868
[SPEAKER_02]: It's the whole cast having dinner together.
22:38.888 --> 22:39.869
[SPEAKER_00]: I like that.
22:40.209 --> 22:41.410
[SPEAKER_01]: I did too.
22:42.250 --> 22:45.952
[SPEAKER_01]: I wish we would have what have had more things like that.
22:45.992 --> 22:56.537
[SPEAKER_01]: So we could see the progression of awkwardness to where we are now where we've all known each other for half a decade and yeah, that was great.
22:56.757 --> 22:57.898
[SPEAKER_02]: I love the dinner scene.
22:59.219 --> 23:01.700
[SPEAKER_02]: But we do learn that the Doctor Low
23:02.480 --> 23:11.424
[SPEAKER_02]: Or lows brought him brought these characters here to DS9 to meet Bashir to try to help them have a normal life.
23:11.484 --> 23:19.587
[SPEAKER_02]: But this is another one where Sid felt very defeated in low energy and kind of like almost like he's given up.
23:19.728 --> 23:25.210
[SPEAKER_02]: Like if this was his mission, if this was the, you know, the hero's journey mission to.
23:26.153 --> 23:32.519
[SPEAKER_02]: I wish he had been directed to lean forward and gauge and with curiosity.
23:32.600 --> 23:37.204
[SPEAKER_02]: Optimistic or curious or, you know, some different energy.
23:37.264 --> 23:40.788
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a lot with these people are going, this is a lot.
23:40.988 --> 23:44.151
[SPEAKER_01]: These are not people that are going to just have a normal life.
23:44.451 --> 23:44.672
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
23:45.112 --> 23:47.394
[SPEAKER_01]: After two weeks with Dr. Bashir.
23:47.735 --> 23:47.935
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
23:48.736 --> 23:49.717
[SPEAKER_01]: He's not Merlin.
23:50.453 --> 23:52.754
[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, we do learn a little bit more.
23:52.774 --> 23:53.974
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that is, I kind of tripped.
23:54.554 --> 23:54.955
[SPEAKER_00]: Right, yeah.
23:55.215 --> 24:19.463
[SPEAKER_00]: We do learn a little bit more in this dinner because we find out that Sid's doctor who performed the DNA resequency was a competent doctor, whereas these four individuals, these guest stars, all had doctors when they were kids that weren't as good because they all suffered these side effects that were not expected and because their parents
24:20.263 --> 24:30.392
[SPEAKER_00]: wanted to heal them, they had to basically reveal what they had done to their children, and that's when the institutionalized care began because of that.
24:30.592 --> 24:38.259
[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for that, because that is a little explanation, but it isn't, um, it doesn't thread through the whole show.
24:38.480 --> 24:39.320
[SPEAKER_01]: No, no.
24:39.360 --> 24:41.943
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a very mixed message that they send.
24:42.123 --> 24:42.303
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
24:42.363 --> 24:43.804
[SPEAKER_00]: It's still a valiant effort, though,
24:45.866 --> 24:50.810
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm Cisco's changes the subject in this dinner to Goldumar who we learn is going to give us speech.
24:50.990 --> 24:51.991
[SPEAKER_02]: We learn the Demars.
24:52.371 --> 24:55.974
[SPEAKER_02]: The boss now, um, first episode, I think we know that.
24:56.214 --> 24:57.335
[SPEAKER_01]: What happened to the cut?
24:57.435 --> 24:59.836
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, his, you know, his daughter was killed.
25:00.137 --> 25:00.557
[SPEAKER_02]: Demark.
25:00.677 --> 25:01.377
[SPEAKER_01]: Like a Mar.
25:01.678 --> 25:03.659
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I didn't forget that.
25:03.799 --> 25:07.122
[SPEAKER_02]: And he kind of went, he, he got arrested and kind of went crazy.
25:07.822 --> 25:10.583
[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't leave the station because he went crazy.
25:10.623 --> 25:11.524
[SPEAKER_00]: He stayed on his station.
25:11.584 --> 25:13.585
[SPEAKER_00]: OK, and that's what he got arrested.
25:13.705 --> 25:15.426
[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, yeah.
25:15.486 --> 25:18.487
[SPEAKER_00]: But that whole gold demar, that doesn't even fit.
25:18.667 --> 25:19.968
[SPEAKER_00]: It's truly is the pretender.
25:20.088 --> 25:22.389
[SPEAKER_00]: And I sit there and just shake my head and sew up.
25:22.449 --> 25:22.729
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
25:23.189 --> 25:23.689
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
25:23.849 --> 25:25.750
[SPEAKER_01]: And didn't he hate way on?
25:26.110 --> 25:28.191
[SPEAKER_01]: How is he suddenly so comfortable with him?
25:28.311 --> 25:31.293
[SPEAKER_01]: You'd think they still have friction.
25:31.593 --> 25:32.513
[SPEAKER_02]: It gave him power.
25:32.873 --> 25:35.515
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but he still, it just doesn't like him.
25:35.835 --> 25:36.035
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
25:36.615 --> 25:47.181
[SPEAKER_01]: because we've already seen that Goldimar, or Demar, has no, he's very hot-headed and it's very hard for him to control his temper.
25:47.301 --> 25:50.383
[SPEAKER_01]: So what's suddenly he's just Mr. Mello?
25:50.723 --> 25:53.425
[SPEAKER_02]: He's the perfect candidate for the boss.
25:54.005 --> 25:56.226
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because he's still guilt-filling guilt.
25:56.306 --> 26:00.869
[SPEAKER_00]: But he does exhibit the exact same behavior as before when he sees Nena.
26:01.189 --> 26:03.631
[SPEAKER_00]: When he sees Kira, he's just as rude to her.
26:06.442 --> 26:08.143
[SPEAKER_00]: Good job, Kasey, and that can say.
26:08.163 --> 26:08.383
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
26:08.963 --> 26:12.724
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Jack calls in and erupts our family dinner here.
26:13.204 --> 26:18.366
[SPEAKER_02]: Jack breaks, breaks into the calm system and calls for Bashir's, the Bashir goes to check on him.
26:19.446 --> 26:21.267
[SPEAKER_02]: And we come back to the cargo bay.
26:21.827 --> 26:25.008
[SPEAKER_02]: Bashir arrives and they're all hearing some noise that we can't hear.
26:25.068 --> 26:25.948
[SPEAKER_02]: The audience can't hear it.
26:26.269 --> 26:27.629
[SPEAKER_02]: And then Bashir listens for a second.
26:27.769 --> 26:28.629
[SPEAKER_02]: He can hear it too.
26:28.789 --> 26:33.531
[SPEAKER_02]: So his genetically enhanced abilities allow him to hear it.
26:34.403 --> 26:42.636
[SPEAKER_02]: Jack grabs Serena and says, he'll break her neck if she doesn't stop it and then we come back after the break.
26:42.736 --> 26:44.839
[SPEAKER_02]: And Bashir is not nervous about Serena.
26:45.707 --> 26:55.837
[SPEAKER_02]: getting her next naped, which as an audience member, I'm not either to be honest because I don't know these characters yet, like, the only way that that commercial breaks going to work.
26:55.897 --> 27:00.262
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to kill Serena as if we cared about these characters, but we barely know them.
27:00.362 --> 27:01.623
[SPEAKER_02]: So it seemed to be a lot more.
27:01.643 --> 27:02.784
[SPEAKER_01]: We certainly don't know her.
27:02.804 --> 27:03.385
[SPEAKER_02]: No, no.
27:04.772 --> 27:23.663
[SPEAKER_00]: it was a weird transition because the minute he finds out he realizes that Bashir time a jack when jack realizes that Bashir can hear the sound too it's almost like a breakthrough for Bashir because jack's almost giddy he likes yes he we're not crazy jumps over he cugs Bashir and says you know you're immune just like us and that's when he grabs
27:24.883 --> 27:30.728
[SPEAKER_00]: and then threatens to break her neck which we just went from one extreme to another, which is fine.
27:30.828 --> 27:37.053
[SPEAKER_01]: But this is not someone who's going to be rehabilitated in two weeks to be part of normal society.
27:37.253 --> 27:37.973
[SPEAKER_01]: But I agree.
27:37.993 --> 27:43.458
[SPEAKER_01]: I have the feeling like you do, Robbie, that Sid was directed to be like the
27:50.863 --> 27:53.104
[SPEAKER_02]: It didn't quite drive a story.
27:53.384 --> 28:03.526
[SPEAKER_02]: I wish he had been given an intention and a goal that this was an obstacle to rather than, I don't know, it didn't feel concrete enough for me.
28:03.646 --> 28:05.466
[SPEAKER_02]: Why Bashir was what he was doing.
28:06.166 --> 28:10.647
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Bashir is not nervous about Jack breaking Serena's neck at all.
28:10.747 --> 28:14.008
[SPEAKER_02]: He's very calm, almost sedated or Medicaid is my opinion.
28:14.851 --> 28:32.605
[SPEAKER_02]: uh... but he calls miles and uh... and then he says well you better let her go or i'm gonna tell miles not to come and fix the noise and miles arrives miles can't hear the noise he looks the panel though and he says yeah they were right so again super abilities that these genetically enhanced people have
28:33.515 --> 28:51.070
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and right around then, that's when tomorrow starts his speech, um, they put it up on the screen and all of our guest stars start listening to the speech, but they hear things in his speech, his tone, his facial expression, all that that are suspicious and they see other things in the speech.
28:51.350 --> 28:57.135
[SPEAKER_02]: They basically hear the truth, a lot of things that are true, just from the speech.
28:57.435 --> 28:59.938
[SPEAKER_01]: I think that was a fun, fun interaction.
28:59.958 --> 29:02.641
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they start talking about a king story.
29:02.841 --> 29:15.957
[SPEAKER_00]: This whole bit, then watching and being able to break down just from his speech pattern and how he's looking, sounded so much like law enforcement when they train, you know, for FBI, CIA, when they're training people that are interrogators.
29:16.257 --> 29:17.858
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, the person does all those in the eye.
29:17.898 --> 29:18.999
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's exactly.
29:19.059 --> 29:20.860
[SPEAKER_00]: He's looking away from certain area.
29:20.900 --> 29:22.682
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe that's the area he's trying to hide.
29:22.742 --> 29:23.802
[SPEAKER_00]: There's all these smells.
29:23.882 --> 29:24.223
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
29:24.303 --> 29:24.903
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
29:24.943 --> 29:26.684
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a whole science behind that.
29:26.864 --> 29:28.165
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, there is.
29:28.526 --> 29:30.067
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what this whole reminded me of.
29:30.107 --> 29:34.149
[SPEAKER_00]: These guys are are perfect for breaking down human behavior.
29:34.209 --> 29:36.091
[SPEAKER_00]: These genetically enhanced.
29:36.151 --> 29:37.912
[SPEAKER_01]: So they should work for the FBI.
29:37.952 --> 29:38.793
[SPEAKER_01]: They really should.
29:38.833 --> 29:40.494
[SPEAKER_01]: They should be.
29:40.514 --> 29:41.715
[SPEAKER_01]: Just stay in the office.
29:42.595 --> 29:42.895
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
29:43.176 --> 29:43.396
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
29:43.436 --> 29:44.316
[SPEAKER_01]: Not out in the field.
29:44.777 --> 29:45.037
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
29:45.817 --> 29:46.098
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
29:46.338 --> 29:46.618
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
29:46.658 --> 29:54.544
[SPEAKER_00]: So observing a gold-demars broadcast, Jack references William Shakespeare's plays, Henry IV, Part II, and Macbeth.
29:55.124 --> 29:56.685
[SPEAKER_00]: So there's a couple Shakespeare references there.
29:57.245 --> 29:58.126
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, by Jack.
29:58.646 --> 30:04.871
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it feels that way as they continue on with this idea that, you know, the way they talk about it feels very Shakespeare and for sure.
30:04.891 --> 30:05.972
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm very dramatic.
30:06.272 --> 30:06.552
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
30:07.743 --> 30:23.334
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, we go to ops next and Bashir is reporting, uh, to Kira and Dax that his genetically enhanced patients are deeply engaged and analyzing tomorrow's speech and he wants to keep their interest, like they're focused on something, so he wants to take advantage of that.
30:23.895 --> 30:33.562
[SPEAKER_02]: And Cisco says Starfleet has agreed to peace talks and that tomorrow and way you and are going to arrive the next morning for negotiations that he will personally conduct which
30:34.012 --> 30:38.354
[SPEAKER_02]: I like this interaction with Kira where she's not optimistic at all about these.
30:38.814 --> 30:39.994
[SPEAKER_02]: She does not trust them are.
30:40.454 --> 30:46.136
[SPEAKER_02]: And Bashir asks, can I get the transcript so my patients can sort of analyze it?
30:46.356 --> 30:47.057
[SPEAKER_02]: Has this idea?
30:47.077 --> 30:47.877
[SPEAKER_02]: Because they're interested.
30:48.502 --> 30:49.442
[SPEAKER_02]: Let me keep their interest.
30:49.782 --> 30:52.203
[SPEAKER_02]: And Cisco says, yeah, we'll be recording the whole thing.
30:52.543 --> 30:54.824
[SPEAKER_00]: And that the Dominion insisted on the recording.
30:54.844 --> 31:00.986
[SPEAKER_00]: Because they want to show everyone that they are intent upon reaching a piece of agreement.
31:01.086 --> 31:01.566
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
31:01.606 --> 31:02.166
[SPEAKER_00]: We're good.
31:02.226 --> 31:02.926
[SPEAKER_00]: We're good people.
31:03.046 --> 31:03.406
[SPEAKER_00]: Trust us.
31:03.466 --> 31:06.687
[SPEAKER_01]: And I love this scene because it felt like we're back in reality.
31:07.427 --> 31:09.588
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, all the regular characters.
31:09.648 --> 31:09.988
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
31:10.348 --> 31:13.109
[SPEAKER_02]: So we go back into the cargo bay next.
31:13.549 --> 31:16.050
[SPEAKER_02]: And all of our guest stars are very excited.
31:16.870 --> 31:18.871
[SPEAKER_02]: to follow this negotiation story.
31:18.931 --> 31:26.437
[SPEAKER_02]: They've got ringside seats, and Bashir tells them, yes, it's going to be great.
31:26.737 --> 31:27.817
[SPEAKER_00]: We jump over the airlock.
31:27.978 --> 31:32.100
[SPEAKER_00]: This is the greeting party I suppose for Weyun and Demar.
31:33.281 --> 31:35.823
[SPEAKER_00]: And Kyra is not happy to see them.
31:35.963 --> 31:40.866
[SPEAKER_00]: And right, as I said before, Demar is rude as hell already.
31:41.146 --> 31:42.407
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, same old Demar.
31:42.747 --> 31:43.428
[SPEAKER_02]: Nothing's changed.
31:43.608 --> 31:52.831
[SPEAKER_00]: But Kira does give a little advice to way you and she says, listen, you can play your little game that we're friends here, but don't try anything with Cisco, he's not in a good mood right now.
31:53.031 --> 31:56.732
[SPEAKER_00]: So you're going to reap the fire if you try to mess with him.
31:56.812 --> 32:01.853
[SPEAKER_02]: We go to the cargo bay next and tomorrow is it looks like we're in the negotiation.
32:02.253 --> 32:03.574
[SPEAKER_02]: We don't know we're in the cargo bay.
32:03.654 --> 32:06.835
[SPEAKER_02]: Looks like we're in the negotiation, tomorrow's proposing new borders.
32:07.455 --> 32:10.756
[SPEAKER_02]: And we realize this is a hologram recording of this negotiation.
32:11.615 --> 32:13.037
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, Jack rey winds it.
32:13.237 --> 32:16.880
[SPEAKER_02]: Then he he tells the computer to have weigh and speak in dominion ease.
32:16.960 --> 32:23.346
[SPEAKER_02]: He wants to hear his original language, which I don't think we've ever heard dominion ease before have we ever.
32:23.667 --> 32:23.827
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
32:23.987 --> 32:24.207
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
32:25.088 --> 32:27.330
[SPEAKER_00]: Is that just what he's saying for the race.
32:27.370 --> 32:28.892
[SPEAKER_00]: I've never read it.
32:29.012 --> 32:29.392
[SPEAKER_00]: You see them.
32:29.412 --> 32:29.752
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
32:29.772 --> 32:31.714
[SPEAKER_00]: Guys, because I don't even think there is a dominion.
32:31.774 --> 32:34.237
[SPEAKER_00]: He's I really feel like that's just the overall.
32:34.277 --> 32:34.417
[SPEAKER_01]: It is.
32:34.457 --> 32:35.838
[SPEAKER_01]: And there was always.
32:35.858 --> 32:36.619
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's how he's.
32:36.899 --> 32:43.245
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he would speak that way and then a universal translator would know, but that's, but he, okay, he is a Vorta.
32:43.445 --> 32:45.627
[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he was speaking Vorta language is what I felt.
32:46.167 --> 32:46.908
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, see what I'm saying?
32:46.928 --> 32:48.009
[SPEAKER_00]: Get what you're saying.
32:48.029 --> 32:50.631
[SPEAKER_00]: During World War II, with the Axis Powers, we're Germany Italy.
32:50.811 --> 33:02.642
[SPEAKER_00]: You don't say, but they're speaking Axisese right now, they're all separate, German, Japanese, and Italian, so I thought, hey, that's just their way of saying Vorta talk is dominionese, you know, I felt.
33:03.082 --> 33:06.527
[SPEAKER_00]: That's a donation, but unless they really have a dead dominion line.
33:06.547 --> 33:10.754
[SPEAKER_01]: The Vorta, look at the dominion as their gods, right?
33:10.894 --> 33:11.214
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
33:11.455 --> 33:13.578
[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't think we've ever heard that before.
33:13.678 --> 33:15.060
[SPEAKER_00]: No, not one bit.
33:15.761 --> 33:18.044
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and I think I was reading online that
33:18.525 --> 33:41.054
[SPEAKER_00]: Jeffrey Holmes was having some issues with that because he's he's so good at with these subtle inflections of his voice you can it's it's like a looking at a painting just the way he does everything like it's so hard he's so good but him having to speak a foreign alien language he was having issues doing his normal acting well look at it
33:41.374 --> 33:42.034
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I would.
33:42.074 --> 33:43.395
[SPEAKER_00]: That would be very hard.
33:43.595 --> 33:50.537
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, where do you put it in the reflection to where does that weigh in it way and he's like inflection at the end of which word do you?
33:50.597 --> 33:58.219
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, just yeah, well, it's well, it's not when matter because we don't we don't even know what I mean, but still, yes, he wanted to be a similar.
33:58.239 --> 34:00.440
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yes, yeah, it's written out.
34:00.500 --> 34:02.600
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just going to say what's on the page in the script.
34:08.665 --> 34:21.869
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, how would you, I don't know, how would you, and even sing on, they've actually written the language, so people, you'd have to say it correctly because people know what you're saying when you speak,
34:26.410 --> 34:30.872
[SPEAKER_00]: So if we're talking to forties or dominionies, whatever ease it is, it was made up.
34:31.032 --> 34:34.814
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to say there is no group of scholars who broke it down.
34:35.094 --> 34:35.794
[SPEAKER_00]: These are nouns.
34:35.835 --> 34:36.575
[SPEAKER_00]: These are subjects.
34:36.615 --> 34:37.215
[SPEAKER_00]: These are verbs.
34:37.295 --> 34:37.495
[SPEAKER_00]: No.
34:37.595 --> 34:39.156
[SPEAKER_00]: It was just made up mumble jumbo.
34:39.316 --> 34:42.378
[SPEAKER_01]: I love though this little piece here though.
34:42.658 --> 34:43.378
[SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear that?
34:43.478 --> 34:45.059
[SPEAKER_01]: He used a passive voice.
34:46.468 --> 34:47.369
[SPEAKER_01]: transitive.
34:48.250 --> 34:51.534
[SPEAKER_01]: And here's like, since when could you speak dominionese?
34:51.574 --> 34:52.616
[SPEAKER_01]: He goes since this morning.
34:53.176 --> 34:59.625
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's just like, yes, those kinds of little tidbits are genius to add in.
34:59.925 --> 35:03.890
[SPEAKER_01]: And I wish that would have been in a little bit more when we first met.
35:03.950 --> 35:04.290
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
35:04.431 --> 35:04.791
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
35:05.672 --> 35:07.073
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they debate all the clues.
35:07.133 --> 35:09.974
[SPEAKER_02]: Serena is writing on a pad and then shows us to Bashir.
35:10.014 --> 35:10.555
[SPEAKER_02]: He looks at it.
35:10.655 --> 35:12.496
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a chemical formula.
35:12.516 --> 35:12.736
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
35:13.056 --> 35:13.736
[SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm.
35:13.816 --> 35:14.377
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
35:14.537 --> 35:18.619
[SPEAKER_00]: And before the chemical formula was Patrick, Patrick's the one that says they want the Cabral system.
35:19.579 --> 35:26.483
[SPEAKER_00]: And they would be, yeah, that's when that's when quiet one does the formula because she takes the Cabral system.
35:26.563 --> 35:26.923
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
35:27.443 --> 35:27.763
[SPEAKER_00]: Elements.
35:27.864 --> 35:29.464
[SPEAKER_00]: She's the science person, maybe.
35:29.745 --> 35:30.385
[SPEAKER_01]: She has to be.
35:30.405 --> 35:31.545
[SPEAKER_01]: Did you see that thing?
35:31.726 --> 35:32.426
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
35:32.486 --> 35:33.827
[SPEAKER_01]: She drew it all out.
35:34.207 --> 35:34.467
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
35:34.607 --> 35:48.010
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's a base chemical that is found in the Corel system, which can be transformed into the base elements that are needed to to formulate Ketrocell white, which is what the Gemitar have to have in order for them to keep functioning.
35:48.410 --> 35:57.772
[SPEAKER_00]: So this is a great, this is amazing because now they can actually produce it in this quadrant instead of having to have it shipped in from the gamma quadrants.
35:57.812 --> 35:58.052
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
35:58.352 --> 36:03.834
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and this is when we're in Cisco's office with Bashir as Bashir is explaining everything.
36:04.394 --> 36:06.275
[SPEAKER_01]: That's part of how it's revealed.
36:06.395 --> 36:07.996
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Bashir's got lots of paths.
36:08.016 --> 36:09.776
[SPEAKER_02]: We're in the captain's office next.
36:10.096 --> 36:10.577
[SPEAKER_02]: Bashir's
36:14.278 --> 36:19.863
[SPEAKER_00]: which we all know in our lives you'd have one pad and you'd swipe to the next file to figure out.
36:19.883 --> 36:24.928
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so it's comical for us and we're we're located in technology watching time.
36:24.948 --> 36:25.769
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my gosh.
36:25.789 --> 36:27.470
[SPEAKER_01]: We're backwards in the future.
36:27.690 --> 36:34.216
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, but it told the story beat of like these yes stars have come up with all kinds of analysis.
36:34.297 --> 36:34.597
[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
36:35.077 --> 36:39.699
[SPEAKER_02]: of this speech, this one, and overwhelming amount of analysis.
36:39.919 --> 36:40.539
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yes.
36:41.140 --> 36:41.720
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
36:42.220 --> 36:42.440
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
36:42.460 --> 36:45.601
[SPEAKER_02]: But she tells Cisco that the Dominion wants the Correl system.
36:45.782 --> 36:49.263
[SPEAKER_02]: So they can manufacture this cut for cell white locally in the alpha quadrant.
36:50.063 --> 36:53.905
[SPEAKER_02]: And that would have made accepting their border.
36:54.321 --> 37:01.984
[SPEAKER_02]: their new border proposal, a huge mistake, because then they'd have access to the Cabral system.
37:02.124 --> 37:18.150
[SPEAKER_02]: So he says, instead of seeding that territory that they should take some time stall because they've analyzed the casualty projections that the Romulans are going to abandon their non-aggression pact, and then there's going to be
37:19.720 --> 37:40.547
[SPEAKER_00]: horrible things like if they had taken this deal they've analyzed that bad idea don't take the deal well in the end he says we should give them cabral because he feels like that's gonna keep them from losing lives because the Dominion won't attack which I love that writing which is so smart it's like oh my god they're thinking it's like chess moves there's five moves ahead you know yes
37:41.047 --> 37:43.128
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and he starts to explain it all.
37:43.288 --> 37:53.514
[SPEAKER_02]: Cisco says, oh, I wanted to, you know, tell me more of this analysis and be sure starts explaining it goes, whoa, whoa, whoa, it's like, you're going to have to do this slowly or something like that.
37:53.534 --> 37:55.054
[SPEAKER_02]: Walk me through the step by step.
37:55.495 --> 37:56.495
[SPEAKER_02]: Nice and easy.
37:56.535 --> 37:57.976
[SPEAKER_01]: Nice and easy.
37:58.136 --> 37:59.977
[SPEAKER_01]: Little more elementary, please.
38:00.457 --> 38:01.698
[SPEAKER_02]: We go to the cargo bay next.
38:01.758 --> 38:02.739
[SPEAKER_02]: They're celebrating.
38:03.139 --> 38:05.180
[SPEAKER_02]: They're having a party with red hats.
38:06.341 --> 38:07.562
[SPEAKER_02]: The music is a waltz.
38:07.902 --> 38:09.463
[SPEAKER_01]: A famous one.
38:09.763 --> 38:10.544
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, it is.
38:10.564 --> 38:11.445
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
38:12.005 --> 38:13.206
[SPEAKER_02]: What is it, Blue Danube?
38:13.566 --> 38:13.826
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
38:14.447 --> 38:15.908
[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
38:15.928 --> 38:19.010
[SPEAKER_01]: I never knew the name of it before, but who doesn't know that waltz?
38:19.030 --> 38:33.782
[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
38:34.823 --> 38:41.229
[SPEAKER_00]: it like if they said yeah some music and it was Britney Spears they would been paying out the nose for that I can't have that.
38:41.249 --> 38:55.865
[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like just the pace of this story was very slow though like this party was just weird it was slow and the music was slow and then miles arrives to fix the power coupling and Patrick wants to put a hat on but then he doesn't want to
38:56.830 --> 38:58.071
[SPEAKER_02]: because he's working and then pounds.
38:58.091 --> 38:59.472
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, drawing.
38:59.492 --> 39:01.093
[SPEAKER_02]: It's very sweet.
39:02.033 --> 39:03.234
[SPEAKER_02]: It's very sensitive Patrick.
39:03.354 --> 39:05.496
[SPEAKER_01]: Just because a brain was a little short with them.
39:05.816 --> 39:06.016
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
39:06.056 --> 39:08.938
[SPEAKER_01]: But I thought that, you know, Colin played that great.
39:09.018 --> 39:09.858
[SPEAKER_01]: It was perfect.
39:09.918 --> 39:12.980
[SPEAKER_01]: It was like he was a little short and he had a little smile at the end.
39:13.020 --> 39:14.021
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like it's not you.
39:14.081 --> 39:14.581
[SPEAKER_01]: It's me.
39:15.062 --> 39:15.342
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
39:15.722 --> 39:19.685
[SPEAKER_01]: So his over Patrick's over reaction.
39:20.687 --> 39:20.907
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
39:21.127 --> 39:24.430
[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of wish that looked a little more realistic, too.
39:24.670 --> 39:25.450
[SPEAKER_00]: I like the scene.
39:25.851 --> 39:27.792
[SPEAKER_00]: I know that you thought the pacing was really slow.
39:27.872 --> 39:31.034
[SPEAKER_00]: I think maybe the problem is that that they're in the cargo bay.
39:31.054 --> 39:32.115
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's so big.
39:32.675 --> 39:38.820
[SPEAKER_00]: If they had this in some some quarters that were smaller, it would have been it would have seemed like it was past faster.
39:38.960 --> 39:43.383
[SPEAKER_00]: I just think that the environment itself lended to that molasses like feeling.
39:43.443 --> 39:44.864
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I think you're right.
39:44.924 --> 39:51.767
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and also Patrick, I was so cool though, because he kept with the waltz at one point, you see him like twirl in front of camera.
39:52.047 --> 39:54.809
[SPEAKER_00]: So I really felt the blocking was okay on this one, Robbie.
39:54.909 --> 40:00.371
[SPEAKER_00]: I was okay with this one, at least it didn't pull me out so much, but I just felt that the setting was too big.
40:00.391 --> 40:01.111
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the space.
40:01.231 --> 40:01.892
[SPEAKER_02]: I think you're right.
40:02.312 --> 40:04.973
[SPEAKER_02]: The cargo base, the wrong place, the set this whole time.
40:04.993 --> 40:05.493
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yes.
40:06.914 --> 40:09.336
[SPEAKER_01]: Or take the conference room to make it there.
40:09.617 --> 40:15.202
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, it should have been dressed a little bit more warm and inviting.
40:15.282 --> 40:19.326
[SPEAKER_01]: So they felt comfortable, not so they felt institutionalized.
40:19.346 --> 40:19.847
[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
40:19.907 --> 40:22.669
[SPEAKER_01]: So they feel where they're sending them back to.
40:22.749 --> 40:23.210
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
40:23.290 --> 40:31.478
[SPEAKER_01]: If you want people to feel like they're part of normal society, then give them a real place to stay where they're comfortable.
40:31.838 --> 40:32.018
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
40:32.378 --> 40:33.739
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't lock them in the garage.
40:33.859 --> 40:34.099
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
40:34.359 --> 40:44.645
[SPEAKER_00]: Your first comments, Robbie, when you were breaking down this episode, you're very first comment was, okay, so we're in the cargo bay, which is now transformed into sort of an area where they meet, which is weird.
40:45.025 --> 40:46.486
[SPEAKER_00]: Or something like that.
40:46.766 --> 40:47.986
[SPEAKER_00]: But you already were pulled out.
40:48.086 --> 40:51.028
[SPEAKER_00]: And I was pulled out immediately from the fact that they were in the cargo bay.
40:51.048 --> 40:52.469
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, why are they even here?
40:52.609 --> 40:53.889
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just the Tsar.
40:54.049 --> 40:54.770
[SPEAKER_00]: That's all clear.
40:56.374 --> 41:03.598
[SPEAKER_02]: We do end the scene with they all noticed that Miles seems off that he wants to play with Bashir.
41:04.019 --> 41:05.699
[SPEAKER_01]: That was so cute.
41:06.460 --> 41:08.041
[SPEAKER_01]: And then he didn't need to change it at all.
41:08.061 --> 41:09.021
[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't change it at all.
41:12.203 --> 41:14.905
[SPEAKER_00]: touches you're not going to need that is that there's nothing wrong with the power coupling.
41:14.945 --> 41:18.887
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, and the thing is there's so blunt and candid about their speech.
41:18.907 --> 41:19.727
[SPEAKER_00]: You love that.
41:19.847 --> 41:20.408
[SPEAKER_00]: They don't hide.
41:20.448 --> 41:21.468
[SPEAKER_00]: They don't pull anything.
41:21.708 --> 41:23.049
[SPEAKER_00]: Everything is right there in the open.
41:23.349 --> 41:25.030
[SPEAKER_00]: And O'Brien doesn't even know how to deal with that.
41:25.050 --> 41:28.332
[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, well, well, it's going to have to be replaced sometime.
41:28.372 --> 41:31.534
[SPEAKER_00]: It's almost like he's defensive about it at that point by saying that.
41:32.774 --> 41:35.616
[SPEAKER_00]: Interesting little bit of trivia, the music, the Blue Danube.
41:36.156 --> 41:39.378
[SPEAKER_00]: It was also used in Voyager, Robbie, and Renaissance man.
41:40.319 --> 41:47.687
[SPEAKER_00]: So, yes, the dance sequence was originally supposed to be far more elaborate than what was seen in the final episode.
41:47.747 --> 41:55.957
[SPEAKER_00]: And what was to include a lengthy crane shot, but neither Alexander Sadeg nor Hillary Shepherd Turner were able to dance properly.
41:56.497 --> 41:58.540
[SPEAKER_00]: And in the end, the shot was scrapped.
41:59.100 --> 42:05.302
[SPEAKER_00]: So, I think Hillary said that she kind of was very clumsy, you know, and she wasn't getting it.
42:05.342 --> 42:05.622
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
42:05.682 --> 42:08.783
[SPEAKER_00]: So there was a supposed to be a much more elaborate query.
42:08.803 --> 42:11.884
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they probably tried to teach him in 10 minutes as well.
42:11.904 --> 42:13.344
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, actual wallets itself probably.
42:13.384 --> 42:13.624
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
42:13.724 --> 42:20.086
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like there's enough time for them to have a rehearsal, which is too bad because that should have been easy.
42:21.006 --> 42:23.727
[SPEAKER_01]: You can't expect people to know how to do things that weren't.
42:25.034 --> 42:27.174
[SPEAKER_01]: part of our culture, right?
42:27.575 --> 42:32.736
[SPEAKER_01]: There was a time when people did know what those dances because that's what you did.
42:32.756 --> 42:33.996
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, all right.
42:34.016 --> 42:40.437
[SPEAKER_02]: So we're in quarks and he's playing with his friend, Miles and Bashir, playing darts here.
42:41.677 --> 42:46.038
[SPEAKER_02]: Bashir tells Miles that they like Miles because he's uncomplicated.
42:46.078 --> 42:47.239
[SPEAKER_02]: He's trying to put it nicely.
42:47.579 --> 42:53.160
[SPEAKER_02]: And Bashir, if you're also says he's enjoying these guest-star characters, he's enjoying
42:53.780 --> 42:55.662
[SPEAKER_02]: them as well enjoying their company.
42:57.263 --> 43:04.248
[SPEAKER_02]: And he thinks that they could help Starfleet command that they're brilliant and that he really relates to them.
43:04.509 --> 43:08.292
[SPEAKER_02]: My house does say at one point in the scene he goes, well I'm glad I can be of service to you, you know.
43:09.272 --> 43:10.553
[SPEAKER_02]: being uncomplicated.
43:10.593 --> 43:13.775
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a little insulted in this.
43:14.055 --> 43:15.556
[SPEAKER_01]: But sure, so something much worse.
43:15.796 --> 43:24.420
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they do talk about how Bashir has to... At the beginning of the scene, Bashir has got to step really far back because of his enhanced eyesight and all of that.
43:24.580 --> 43:30.483
[SPEAKER_01]: O'Brien says, after being with them, I can see how the rest of us must seem a little uncomplicated.
43:30.804 --> 43:33.625
[SPEAKER_01]: And Bashir says, I wouldn't say that exactly.
43:34.345 --> 43:35.206
[SPEAKER_01]: More like slow.
43:37.067 --> 43:45.534
[SPEAKER_00]: That is so much worse, but I want to use I want to try to use I want to try to use and complicated in the general public if someone is acting like an idiot.
43:45.554 --> 43:52.440
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just because you you are so uncomplicated and then they're going to be like what is that mean they're going to be so freaked out.
43:52.600 --> 43:55.062
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my my get punched over it, but we'll see okay.
43:55.102 --> 43:57.924
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, Brian says this must be very frustrating to you.
43:57.964 --> 43:59.726
[SPEAKER_01]: And Bashir says, I don't mind.
43:59.766 --> 44:01.087
[SPEAKER_01]: It makes me feel superior.
44:01.227 --> 44:03.489
[SPEAKER_01]: And Brian says, glad to be of service.
44:03.529 --> 44:04.910
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's glad to be of service.
44:05.051 --> 44:08.513
[SPEAKER_01]: They're the best scenes in this are the ones with him and O'Brien.
44:08.634 --> 44:09.674
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, they have good chemistry.
44:09.775 --> 44:16.280
[SPEAKER_02]: And with the crew, yeah, good chemistry and helps bring Sid's energy up a little when he's with mom.
44:16.460 --> 44:18.942
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, some reason he took the approach.
44:19.243 --> 44:21.344
[SPEAKER_02]: Sid took the approach that Bashir was going to be.
44:22.165 --> 44:27.828
[SPEAKER_02]: almost like medicated like home with all the guest stars and it didn't work for me.
44:28.008 --> 44:33.471
[SPEAKER_01]: But also if the camera was moving around more in those scenes, there would have been more energy.
44:33.591 --> 44:45.457
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it's energy to be a therapist kind of vibe seems wrong, but because like you were saying it felt like Anson didn't direct anyone.
44:46.738 --> 44:50.762
[SPEAKER_01]: a lot of things feel very, a lot of characters feel very one note.
44:51.183 --> 44:51.383
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
44:51.523 --> 44:53.044
[SPEAKER_01]: Like you said, two dimensional.
44:53.064 --> 45:06.358
[SPEAKER_02]: What have been different if like the first scene of this episode is Bashir and Cisco sitting in Cisco's office and Cisco says, hey, we're having all these genetically enhanced people come and your job is to and then fill the blank.
45:06.398 --> 45:08.319
[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever your job is and Sid goes.
45:09.000 --> 45:10.703
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, that's my job.
45:10.823 --> 45:13.567
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to go do that at least I would have known.
45:13.707 --> 45:20.877
[SPEAKER_02]: And then if he was taking the tactic of being calm, I would have understood why what he was there for.
45:20.937 --> 45:24.061
[SPEAKER_02]: I just never quite knew why he was hanging out with that.
45:24.307 --> 45:31.869
[SPEAKER_01]: or maybe describe what their qualities are, which would have helped all of us too instead of this back and forth.
45:31.929 --> 45:36.311
[SPEAKER_01]: They're going back to the Institute, so why are we taking them so seriously?
45:36.331 --> 45:44.573
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, your job is to study them and find out if there's anything that Starfleet could use of their intelligence or not them studying us.
45:44.833 --> 45:46.554
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yes, right.
45:47.134 --> 45:55.322
[SPEAKER_02]: Or your job Bashir is to find out if this character is so dangerous, they can't be around society.
45:55.603 --> 45:55.963
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
45:56.163 --> 45:57.645
[SPEAKER_02]: They are dangerous Bashir.
45:57.705 --> 46:00.368
[SPEAKER_02]: You've got to go into this dangerous place and be careful.
46:00.448 --> 46:01.469
[SPEAKER_02]: Then that would have been a job.
46:01.489 --> 46:02.830
[SPEAKER_01]: And Jack is dangerous.
46:03.090 --> 46:03.471
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
46:03.911 --> 46:07.794
[SPEAKER_02]: But they didn't quite carve out like what Bashir's mission was.
46:07.914 --> 46:10.836
[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't think Sid really knew what his mission was.
46:10.876 --> 46:18.081
[SPEAKER_02]: And that's why he took this sort of sedated, medicate and tactic that just was not very dynamic.
46:18.222 --> 46:20.543
[SPEAKER_02]: And then the camera didn't move and I could pile on.
46:20.583 --> 46:27.268
[SPEAKER_02]: But it's just so many missed opportunities with this situation could have been more dynamic.
46:27.668 --> 46:29.970
[SPEAKER_00]: I think you came up with a missing scene for yourself, Ravi.
46:30.230 --> 46:30.851
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I've got a few.
46:31.331 --> 46:31.631
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
46:33.005 --> 46:33.645
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, all right.
46:33.685 --> 46:36.487
[SPEAKER_02]: Next scene is in cargo bay where Bashir comes back in.
46:37.187 --> 46:39.829
[SPEAKER_02]: He tells all of our our visitors.
46:40.189 --> 46:40.649
[SPEAKER_02]: Good news.
46:40.689 --> 46:43.851
[SPEAKER_02]: Starfleet was very impressed with your all your analysis.
46:43.871 --> 46:45.511
[SPEAKER_02]: They want more analysis.
46:46.652 --> 46:48.313
[SPEAKER_02]: And then they have bad news for him.
46:48.810 --> 47:08.062
[SPEAKER_01]: they've already done it basically already analyzed this and they've decided the federation can never defeat the dominion but wait a minute there's a nitpick here she says i have good news starfleet command was so impressed with our analysis they've agreed to let us have access to classified information they're going to give what the actual
47:08.682 --> 47:10.463
[SPEAKER_01]: bomb seriously.
47:10.483 --> 47:11.664
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
47:11.684 --> 47:17.189
[SPEAKER_01]: No freaking way that these just not only did not qualified.
47:17.409 --> 47:18.630
[SPEAKER_01]: They haven't been cleared.
47:18.650 --> 47:21.552
[SPEAKER_01]: I that made me angry.
47:22.536 --> 47:27.200
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that that is kind of irresponsible and unprofessional.
47:27.260 --> 47:35.868
[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to give three people that are institute for people for institutionalized individuals that are not even in Starfleet, access to classified information.
47:35.948 --> 47:37.370
[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone says, oh, it's above my pay grade.
47:37.630 --> 47:40.713
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, these random civilians are going to be above everyone.
47:40.733 --> 47:41.854
[SPEAKER_01]: They can't control.
47:42.014 --> 47:43.395
[SPEAKER_01]: They cannot control.
47:43.415 --> 47:44.056
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they don't know.
47:44.096 --> 47:44.997
[SPEAKER_00]: They can't control them yet.
47:45.037 --> 47:47.639
[SPEAKER_01]: But we can't tell you can't control Jack.
47:47.719 --> 47:47.999
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
47:48.880 --> 47:51.061
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a little, yeah, it's a little questionable.
47:51.141 --> 47:54.463
[SPEAKER_01]: And certainly Patrick, you can't control.
47:54.723 --> 47:55.244
[SPEAKER_00]: You're right, Robbie.
47:55.264 --> 47:58.425
[SPEAKER_00]: They do come to the conclusion that they cannot beat the Dominion.
47:58.626 --> 48:03.028
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Bisher says that at the end of the scene, there's no way we're going to have to surrender.
48:03.208 --> 48:03.888
[SPEAKER_02]: No way out of it.
48:04.049 --> 48:05.509
[SPEAKER_02]: We go to the captain's office next.
48:05.789 --> 48:07.230
[SPEAKER_02]: Cisco is mad.
48:07.711 --> 48:09.091
[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, I'm not going to give up.
48:09.111 --> 48:10.212
[SPEAKER_02]: We're not going to surrender.
48:10.592 --> 48:11.573
[SPEAKER_02]: That's not what we do.
48:11.593 --> 48:12.853
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the segue, though.
48:12.933 --> 48:13.674
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a nice segue.
48:14.114 --> 48:15.095
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to have to surrender
48:17.656 --> 48:31.133
[SPEAKER_02]: surrender to the dominion not on my watch and doesn't he slam down on a path yes there's a little shot you know shot making that tells the story you immediately have some energy and yeah this scene was great with Cisco and be sure
48:32.526 --> 48:38.050
[SPEAKER_00]: He should have slammed down the pad robby, broke in the plastic or glass, and then scraped it across his face and said, look, I'm ready.
48:38.630 --> 48:39.992
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, holy cow.
48:40.032 --> 48:40.392
[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry.
48:40.492 --> 48:40.952
[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
48:40.992 --> 48:41.553
[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
48:41.593 --> 48:43.434
[SPEAKER_00]: That is very extreme.
48:43.494 --> 48:46.136
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm scared of you now.
48:46.236 --> 48:49.159
[SPEAKER_00]: I think my dealing with my back pain, it's coming out in madness.
48:49.239 --> 48:50.580
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't blame you.
48:50.840 --> 48:52.121
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I apologize.
48:52.201 --> 48:53.162
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
48:53.182 --> 48:54.763
[SPEAKER_01]: No, pain is the worst.
48:54.983 --> 48:55.443
[SPEAKER_01]: It is.
48:55.764 --> 48:56.284
[SPEAKER_01]: Period.
48:56.344 --> 48:59.687
[SPEAKER_01]: Though matter where it is on your body, pain is the worst.
49:00.147 --> 49:04.551
[SPEAKER_02]: Bashir basically argues in this scene though that billions are going to die if they don't give up.
49:04.791 --> 49:05.212
[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
49:05.772 --> 49:08.335
[SPEAKER_02]: And he says over the long run, things will come back.
49:08.375 --> 49:11.297
[SPEAKER_02]: It'll just take a few generations and the federation's going to come back.
49:12.358 --> 49:17.603
[SPEAKER_02]: And Bashir even says at the end of the scene that he thinks Cisco's pride is what's getting in the way.
49:18.184 --> 49:19.645
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, right.
49:19.785 --> 49:20.546
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
49:20.726 --> 49:21.066
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
49:22.204 --> 49:24.965
[SPEAKER_00]: But this is the 900 billion number.
49:25.005 --> 49:25.806
[SPEAKER_00]: This is where it shows up.
49:25.846 --> 49:26.866
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, thank you.
49:27.026 --> 49:28.087
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
49:28.707 --> 49:31.748
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a 900 billion holy time.
49:31.848 --> 49:32.829
[SPEAKER_00]: That's a lot of people.
49:32.849 --> 49:35.190
[SPEAKER_02]: That's a lot of people.
49:35.310 --> 49:36.250
[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of people.
49:36.290 --> 49:38.011
[SPEAKER_01]: We're almost hidden at a trillion.
49:38.211 --> 49:40.692
[SPEAKER_02]: I can't believe he said, it's Cisco's pride.
49:40.833 --> 49:42.733
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, to me, that was a big.
49:43.974 --> 49:46.675
[SPEAKER_02]: That's a big accusation to your captain.
49:47.856 --> 49:48.416
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
49:48.596 --> 49:50.237
[SPEAKER_02]: Really stepping out of line.
49:51.340 --> 50:12.474
[SPEAKER_00]: is it because he's felt so comfortable amongst his own type and those guys have no filter that he's become like that as well and maybe I don't know rubbed off on him yeah yeah because he's getting caught up in it too most definitely yeah right before we go inside quarks there is a long lens shot of the sheer just standing alone in the promenade in a crowd
50:13.807 --> 50:16.828
[SPEAKER_02]: the only time in the episode where I'm like, that's a good shot.
50:16.928 --> 50:17.688
[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
50:17.728 --> 50:18.388
[SPEAKER_02]: Story.
50:18.528 --> 50:19.429
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
50:19.549 --> 50:20.349
[SPEAKER_00]: I was hungry.
50:20.369 --> 50:21.269
[SPEAKER_00]: I would like this shot.
50:21.389 --> 50:23.070
[SPEAKER_02]: It's telling a story.
50:23.150 --> 50:23.390
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
50:23.410 --> 50:24.430
[SPEAKER_02]: Sure sort of walks out.
50:24.470 --> 50:25.130
[SPEAKER_02]: It looks around.
50:25.150 --> 50:26.391
[SPEAKER_02]: There's people in the foreground.
50:26.931 --> 50:30.072
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's a little drift, a little movement on that long lens.
50:30.212 --> 50:31.252
[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, oh,
50:31.692 --> 50:33.753
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's storytelling with a camera.
50:33.773 --> 50:34.734
[SPEAKER_02]: I was telling you.
50:34.754 --> 50:38.155
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, he's alone and he's contemplating it all.
50:38.355 --> 50:38.596
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
50:38.616 --> 50:43.198
[SPEAKER_00]: Zero dialogue, just him standing there with people moving but front past him and he's just coming up.
50:43.218 --> 50:45.519
[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't fit in with these regular humans.
50:45.559 --> 50:46.099
[SPEAKER_02]: He's right.
50:46.379 --> 50:51.222
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a moment where he almost fits in more with these new genetically enhanced people.
50:51.262 --> 50:53.763
[SPEAKER_02]: He's just met, then he does with the people in the station.
50:53.783 --> 50:57.285
[SPEAKER_01]: He's more or less a perfect visual medium.
50:57.847 --> 50:58.107
[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
50:58.908 --> 51:03.891
[SPEAKER_02]: We go inside the bar, though, and Bashir and Miles are at the bar, and Bashir tells Miles that it's hopeless.
51:04.051 --> 51:09.615
[SPEAKER_02]: And Miles says, you know, maybe, yeah, you think you're smarter than all the rest of us.
51:09.635 --> 51:14.639
[SPEAKER_02]: You think that you and your new friends have figured this all out, but maybe you're not as smart as you think you are.
51:15.559 --> 51:19.402
[SPEAKER_02]: And Miles leaves on this, um, and then we've got,
51:20.592 --> 51:26.035
[SPEAKER_02]: a little time passing, and we see Bashar gambling again, and Quark comes in the scene.
51:26.235 --> 51:32.319
[SPEAKER_02]: I wish there'd been more quark in this episode, because he's a key to this story for me, this gambling metaphor.
51:33.279 --> 51:39.763
[SPEAKER_02]: Quark says something like, you know, people, people that are gambling know the odds are against them.
51:39.823 --> 51:45.567
[SPEAKER_02]: They know they probably will lose their money, but they do it anyway, because they enjoy the game.
51:45.587 --> 51:46.547
[SPEAKER_02]: They enjoy playing.
51:46.727 --> 51:47.868
[SPEAKER_02]: They enjoy the process.
51:49.166 --> 51:56.972
[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, Bashir, I was about to say, Sif, Bashir, it's not said, it's Bashir, who says I don't get it.
51:57.052 --> 52:02.636
[SPEAKER_02]: If they know they're going to lose their money, why do people gamble if we know 900 billion are going to die, why do we gamble?
52:02.816 --> 52:08.000
[SPEAKER_02]: And at the end of the scene, he does lose Bashir, who was winning in the first scene in the early scene.
52:08.978 --> 52:11.159
[SPEAKER_02]: and he'll be winning again at the end of the show.
52:11.199 --> 52:14.101
[SPEAKER_02]: But he loses in this moment and he thinks that proves a point.
52:14.882 --> 52:19.044
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, because he said, see, you see, we're all as good as dead.
52:19.084 --> 52:23.327
[SPEAKER_01]: And he leaves quarks with this out of control.
52:24.307 --> 52:25.067
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's a bit.
52:25.087 --> 52:25.688
[SPEAKER_01]: He's hot.
52:25.988 --> 52:26.348
[SPEAKER_02]: He's hot.
52:26.388 --> 52:27.168
[SPEAKER_01]: He's hot.
52:27.529 --> 52:27.709
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
52:27.829 --> 52:36.433
[SPEAKER_01]: And it just shows you how this Meglamania this trying to control the outcome has really overtaken him along with the group.
52:36.633 --> 52:43.957
[SPEAKER_02]: Or you've analyzed data and you think somehow that that's going to predict the future when there's so many things you can't.
52:44.657 --> 52:46.258
[SPEAKER_02]: You can't calculate.
52:46.758 --> 52:53.241
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but they're trying to like insist that's their way or the highway.
52:53.262 --> 52:59.225
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they've lost perspective that they're unforeseen things and how many times have we?
53:00.464 --> 53:10.316
[SPEAKER_01]: out of ingenuity or ideas that Cisco's had, we have defeated them and those happen in instances in real time.
53:10.396 --> 53:19.647
[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, I think there was a episode where Sid was saying where we have no chances and then Cisco had an idea and it changed the outcome.
53:19.847 --> 53:49.337
[SPEAKER_00]: This is a very interesting moment here because one of the things that I always say is that I will not gamble if I am tired, hungry or emotional and very emotional here and so if you see the move that he makes he throws everything on every all across the board and he loses and every time I get emotional about something where I'm upset about something it makes me not make moves that are conducive to winning.
53:49.637 --> 53:50.618
[SPEAKER_00]: if that makes any sense at all.
53:50.898 --> 53:54.081
[SPEAKER_00]: So I just come in from the gallery side and write it in a line.
53:54.121 --> 53:55.002
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, when you're emotional.
53:55.022 --> 53:56.543
[SPEAKER_01]: And you said to the deaf, have you eaten?
53:56.663 --> 53:56.903
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
53:57.023 --> 53:57.784
[SPEAKER_01]: Are you hungry?
53:57.944 --> 53:58.705
[SPEAKER_01]: Are you emotional?
53:59.145 --> 53:59.785
[SPEAKER_01]: A emotional.
53:59.906 --> 54:00.466
[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
54:00.506 --> 54:01.667
[SPEAKER_01]: There is actually another word.
54:01.927 --> 54:05.210
[SPEAKER_01]: Sleep, hunger, and... You're lonely.
54:06.723 --> 54:07.063
[SPEAKER_00]: lonely?
54:07.364 --> 54:07.684
[SPEAKER_00]: Is that it?
54:08.344 --> 54:09.265
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
54:09.625 --> 54:10.586
[SPEAKER_01]: And he is.
54:10.666 --> 54:11.527
[SPEAKER_01]: He's lonely.
54:11.967 --> 54:14.649
[SPEAKER_01]: He is not connected to his people anymore.
54:14.709 --> 54:20.394
[SPEAKER_01]: He's connected to these other people that he's getting a little spun out about.
54:20.814 --> 54:21.054
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
54:21.434 --> 54:22.415
[SPEAKER_01]: Lost perspective.
54:22.435 --> 54:33.764
[SPEAKER_02]: The other thing I think that's interesting about this point that's being made where Kork is saying, you know, the odds are against you, but you try anyway that you never know what
54:35.262 --> 54:46.524
[SPEAKER_02]: Is that sci-fi has told these timeline stories where we go into an alternate timeline and there's a different outcome because things are different in that timeline so sci-fi in general has always dealt with this.
54:47.091 --> 55:02.404
[SPEAKER_02]: the variables that you can't control or predict, you know, and this story is telling it in a specific way, but sci-fi uses time travel and timeline stories all the time to talk about what if what if this was a, yeah, to really illustrate it.
55:02.905 --> 55:03.165
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
55:03.745 --> 55:04.086
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
55:04.446 --> 55:06.808
[SPEAKER_00]: But Robbie, wouldn't you say that this scene kind of
55:08.390 --> 55:14.074
[SPEAKER_00]: you were more satisfied with this scene because you do see a Bashir who's no longer sedated.
55:14.455 --> 55:20.299
[SPEAKER_00]: He gets his voice starts getting louder and louder until the velocity says, he's the quarks like take it easy.
55:20.319 --> 55:21.940
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just a game in Bashir.
55:21.960 --> 55:22.661
[SPEAKER_00]: He's like you're right.
55:22.981 --> 55:25.903
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not as if nine hundred billion lives were at stake and he just
55:26.083 --> 55:30.385
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's the last thing he screams and he just bolts out of there now.
55:30.405 --> 55:33.926
[SPEAKER_00]: We've got some we've got a little bit of fire going on now.
55:33.946 --> 55:36.087
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, Sid is capable.
55:36.307 --> 55:37.948
[SPEAKER_02]: He's a very capable actor.
55:38.068 --> 55:38.788
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
55:38.928 --> 55:46.412
[SPEAKER_02]: This doesn't make any criticism, I guess, of Sid's choices are not really of Sid's capabilities.
55:46.472 --> 55:50.874
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just about that I don't know that this was clear in the page on the page.
55:50.894 --> 55:51.554
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
55:51.774 --> 55:53.255
[SPEAKER_02]: And then the directing didn't help.
55:54.515 --> 56:01.696
[SPEAKER_02]: And so like this scene he says like you just quoted at the a 900 billion lives are at stake.
56:01.776 --> 56:04.777
[SPEAKER_02]: He knew the stakes as an actor and was able to play it.
56:05.357 --> 56:10.138
[SPEAKER_02]: But in some of the other scenes, I don't think they wrote the stakes so explicitly.
56:10.238 --> 56:14.319
[SPEAKER_02]: And so I'm not sure that Sid knew what he was playing exactly.
56:14.359 --> 56:15.659
[SPEAKER_00]: It's almost like he had no objective.
56:15.779 --> 56:18.359
[SPEAKER_00]: There was no objective in those cargo-based scenes.
56:18.759 --> 56:21.520
[SPEAKER_02]: It's like what's yeah, I mean to break it down like as an actor,
56:21.880 --> 56:26.825
[SPEAKER_02]: the fundamental job of an actor in every single scene is to come in with an objective.
56:26.946 --> 56:29.768
[SPEAKER_02]: I want to make this happen.
56:30.029 --> 56:31.510
[SPEAKER_02]: I want to get this thing.
56:31.610 --> 56:33.012
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I can convince them.
56:33.352 --> 56:34.994
[SPEAKER_00]: It's an excuse them to jolt them.
56:35.014 --> 56:36.816
[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever it is, it's filled in the blank.
56:36.896 --> 56:40.880
[SPEAKER_01]: I want them so you have even if you don't accomplish it, you must have it in your mind.
56:40.900 --> 56:42.202
[SPEAKER_02]: Must have an objective.
56:42.242 --> 56:43.022
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure that
56:43.763 --> 56:48.647
[SPEAKER_02]: that Sid was clear or if the writing was clear about what his objectives were seen to scene.
56:49.187 --> 56:56.193
[SPEAKER_02]: And so that's why there was this sort of generalized kind of malaise over a lot of that earlier stuff.
56:56.273 --> 56:56.793
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
56:57.414 --> 56:58.975
[SPEAKER_01]: And then we go back to the cargo bay.
56:59.230 --> 57:02.073
[SPEAKER_02]: We do, they're all brainstorming in the cargo bay.
57:02.193 --> 57:04.835
[SPEAKER_02]: Jack thinks they should share the information with the Dominion.
57:04.855 --> 57:08.338
[SPEAKER_02]: It would save billions of lives, much shorter war.
57:09.379 --> 57:13.984
[SPEAKER_02]: But but shear says, nope, we can't share this because that would be the Dominion because that would be treason.
57:14.184 --> 57:15.365
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to be a part of treason.
57:16.263 --> 57:18.024
[SPEAKER_02]: and then Jack knocks him out.
57:19.705 --> 57:21.947
[SPEAKER_01]: Holy cow, isn't that a great sucker punch?
57:22.287 --> 57:23.468
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, sure was.
57:23.768 --> 57:24.749
[SPEAKER_01]: By both of them.
57:24.769 --> 57:25.289
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
57:26.750 --> 57:28.672
[SPEAKER_00]: And Bashir just falls like a redwood.
57:28.692 --> 57:29.612
[SPEAKER_00]: Just who's this is?
57:29.632 --> 57:30.933
[SPEAKER_00]: The streaming fell.
57:30.993 --> 57:33.435
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like, oh my gosh, timber.
57:33.575 --> 57:34.096
[SPEAKER_00]: And then that one.
57:34.116 --> 57:36.998
[SPEAKER_01]: And Hillary's character is in habit.
57:37.058 --> 57:37.618
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
57:37.638 --> 57:39.599
[SPEAKER_01]: He falls right on the bed with her.
57:40.660 --> 57:43.401
[SPEAKER_00]: Isn't she caressing him at the end, right there?
57:43.421 --> 57:46.841
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it's like boundaries, hello.
57:46.861 --> 57:47.782
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my goodness.
57:47.962 --> 57:52.403
[SPEAKER_02]: We cut inside some quarters, some guest quarters, tomorrow's going over Cisco's counteroffer.
57:52.783 --> 57:57.544
[SPEAKER_02]: And Wayoon comes in, you know, tomorrow's is not happy with this counteroffer.
57:57.624 --> 57:59.564
[SPEAKER_02]: He thinks they should be getting more.
57:59.664 --> 58:01.765
[SPEAKER_02]: Wayoon comes in and says, you're getting a little cocky.
58:02.225 --> 58:05.529
[SPEAKER_02]: Remember who's in charge here, so there's a bit of a power struggle here.
58:05.549 --> 58:12.717
[SPEAKER_02]: Wayhun shares that he got some information, or he can get some information from an unidentified party.
58:13.276 --> 58:17.440
[SPEAKER_02]: And he wants to find out what that is first before they respond to Cisco's offer.
58:17.460 --> 58:30.792
[SPEAKER_02]: The little twisting of the mustache is the bad guys go back to the cargo bay, but she just tied up in a chair and the gang is gone except for Serena who's still there.
58:31.092 --> 58:32.994
[SPEAKER_02]: The one who is not spoken in the whole episode.
58:33.194 --> 58:35.817
[SPEAKER_02]: I wish they tied him up with more than just that one strap.
58:36.017 --> 58:37.338
[SPEAKER_00]: I can't think I could get out of
58:37.418 --> 58:38.659
[SPEAKER_00]: That's actual life.
58:38.719 --> 58:40.660
[SPEAKER_02]: It's looked a little bit a little basic.
58:41.220 --> 58:41.400
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
58:41.680 --> 58:43.521
[SPEAKER_02]: He asked Serena to untie him.
58:44.041 --> 58:48.763
[SPEAKER_02]: And then he says, well, you know, I've seen the way you look at Jack, I know you care for him.
58:48.984 --> 58:52.465
[SPEAKER_02]: If if you don't untie me, you're never going to see Jack again.
58:53.926 --> 58:56.407
[SPEAKER_02]: He can tell that she's in love with Jack.
58:56.547 --> 58:58.508
[SPEAKER_01]: I wish they would have shown that a little bit.
58:58.808 --> 58:59.208
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
58:59.489 --> 59:00.569
[SPEAKER_02]: I wish they could block that.
59:00.589 --> 59:01.750
[SPEAKER_01]: He just looked afraid of him.
59:02.190 --> 59:02.410
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
59:03.051 --> 59:05.332
[SPEAKER_01]: with good reason for how we saw it.
59:05.612 --> 59:06.452
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.
59:06.672 --> 59:13.554
[SPEAKER_02]: If there had been one observation that this year made earlier with her, you know, being little co-cettish.
59:13.814 --> 59:15.075
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't think.
59:15.095 --> 59:16.315
[SPEAKER_01]: A little flirtive glance.
59:16.555 --> 59:19.936
[SPEAKER_02]: If we'd see the lights to set that up, it came out of nowhere to me.
59:20.296 --> 59:21.497
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I agree.
59:21.577 --> 59:29.879
[SPEAKER_02]: That observation, we cut out on the corridor or the threesome goes past someone, Patrick's very friendly.
59:29.899 --> 59:31.140
[SPEAKER_02]: Hi, I'm Patrick.
59:32.170 --> 59:32.931
[SPEAKER_02]: Jack grabs him.
59:33.231 --> 59:33.911
[SPEAKER_02]: Patrick come on.
59:34.491 --> 59:36.032
[SPEAKER_02]: It's very funny, very sweet.
59:36.452 --> 59:37.613
[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to meet Wayne.
59:37.953 --> 59:40.695
[SPEAKER_02]: And this is where Bashir catches up to them.
59:40.715 --> 59:42.516
[SPEAKER_02]: He says, you can't do this.
59:44.457 --> 59:46.558
[SPEAKER_02]: Basically says, I'm not going to let you do this.
59:46.598 --> 59:48.159
[SPEAKER_02]: We can do this the easy way or the hard way.
59:50.640 --> 59:51.200
[SPEAKER_02]: It's up to you.
59:53.661 --> 59:55.162
[SPEAKER_02]: So they don't fight it out there.
59:56.283 --> 59:58.224
[SPEAKER_02]: We leave on that note and we cut to the
01:00:01.557 --> 01:00:02.658
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, the gang's not there.
01:00:02.738 --> 01:00:03.378
[SPEAKER_02]: They're late.
01:00:03.619 --> 01:00:06.541
[SPEAKER_02]: That's when Odo's arrives with escorts love that.
01:00:06.881 --> 01:00:08.262
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so perfect.
01:00:08.302 --> 01:00:10.924
[SPEAKER_01]: That Odo arrives is very cool about it.
01:00:11.644 --> 01:00:12.465
[SPEAKER_02]: They're not coming.
01:00:12.545 --> 01:00:20.210
[SPEAKER_02]: So Odo knows everything, but she has shared it clearly and he escorts them back to their quarters way and loses this this game.
01:00:20.470 --> 01:00:25.195
[SPEAKER_02]: back in the cargo bay, but she tells them that Cisco's not going to charge them with treason.
01:00:25.515 --> 01:00:28.658
[SPEAKER_02]: He explains how Serena derailed their plans.
01:00:29.138 --> 01:00:34.504
[SPEAKER_02]: And he tells Jack, he said, you know, you didn't anticipate everything, Jack, and your plans of treason here.
01:00:34.664 --> 01:00:36.906
[SPEAKER_02]: One person can change the course of history.
01:00:37.241 --> 01:00:43.685
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he says that after Jack sort of kind of jumps on top of Serena, he, he, he, he, he gets mad.
01:00:43.825 --> 01:00:56.113
[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, well, there you go, look, you didn't predict that, did you, but the whole point being one person can change everything, even the history of what's going to happen with this battle, this war with them in that threat is broken.
01:00:56.133 --> 01:00:57.253
[SPEAKER_02]: That's where it's completely broken.
01:00:57.473 --> 01:00:59.715
[SPEAKER_01]: And the future goes in another direction.
01:00:59.995 --> 01:01:00.175
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
01:01:00.275 --> 01:01:03.817
[SPEAKER_02]: We cut the quarks where Bashir is sitting in a quiet corner.
01:01:04.077 --> 01:01:06.299
[SPEAKER_02]: Miles comes into comfort him in this scene.
01:01:06.339 --> 01:01:15.404
[SPEAKER_02]: He knows that it was a hard decision not to join the other enhanced genetically enhanced gang and meet with a diminute dominion.
01:01:15.644 --> 01:01:19.867
[SPEAKER_02]: And Miles says, you know, we know the odds are against us, but all we can do is try to do our best.
01:01:20.107 --> 01:01:22.848
[SPEAKER_02]: We cut to a little later where Bashir's gambling again.
01:01:22.868 --> 01:01:24.229
[SPEAKER_02]: He's having fun now.
01:01:24.910 --> 01:01:26.971
[SPEAKER_02]: Miles calls and says,
01:01:28.048 --> 01:01:29.969
[SPEAKER_02]: the others aren't going to leave without saying goodbye.
01:01:30.109 --> 01:01:33.351
[SPEAKER_02]: And to your point, Garrett, he's having fun here and he's winning again.
01:01:33.852 --> 01:01:35.993
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, he's going down.
01:01:36.514 --> 01:01:36.694
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
01:01:36.714 --> 01:01:36.974
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
01:01:37.154 --> 01:01:37.414
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
01:01:37.494 --> 01:01:40.296
[SPEAKER_01]: And Quark is not super pleased about that.
01:01:40.536 --> 01:01:41.537
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure it's winning here.
01:01:41.557 --> 01:01:46.560
[SPEAKER_02]: O'Brien calls and says, we've got some passengers that are refusing to board unless you come see them.
01:01:46.940 --> 01:01:48.161
[SPEAKER_02]: We know it's his buddies.
01:01:48.942 --> 01:01:49.882
[SPEAKER_02]: He goes back to the car.
01:01:49.902 --> 01:01:50.463
[SPEAKER_02]: Go bay.
01:01:51.510 --> 01:02:01.537
[SPEAKER_02]: Lauren jumps up and kisses him very hard one to one to the sake of buying that looks good though I mean, it was timed well out of nowhere.
01:02:01.657 --> 01:02:05.500
[SPEAKER_02]: She was at timing was perfect Did you see his reaction afterwards?
01:02:05.560 --> 01:02:10.724
[SPEAKER_00]: Who he sort of enjoyed that he did But isn't that where Jack pops out his head out of the side?
01:02:10.764 --> 01:02:15.948
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yes, okay Just you guys know when I went to watch this episode for the first time
01:02:16.888 --> 01:02:18.528
[SPEAKER_00]: It had already gotten to this.
01:02:18.849 --> 01:02:23.650
[SPEAKER_00]: This is when the scene, the episode started for me because I fell asleep on the prayer.
01:02:23.930 --> 01:02:25.010
[SPEAKER_00]: So basically, I didn't know.
01:02:25.150 --> 01:02:28.331
[SPEAKER_00]: I thought this scene was the first scene of the entire episode.
01:02:28.591 --> 01:02:31.052
[SPEAKER_00]: Why is that woman kissing Bashir?
01:02:31.192 --> 01:02:33.252
[SPEAKER_00]: And who's that weirdo popping his hand out?
01:02:33.272 --> 01:02:34.212
[SPEAKER_00]: That's the whole story.
01:02:34.252 --> 01:02:35.193
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's the entire story.
01:02:35.233 --> 01:02:35.833
[SPEAKER_00]: That's when I realized it.
01:02:35.853 --> 01:02:37.193
[SPEAKER_01]: It could be a crazy episode.
01:02:37.793 --> 01:02:38.153
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
01:02:38.693 --> 01:02:39.434
[SPEAKER_00]: I realized it.
01:02:39.634 --> 01:02:42.514
[SPEAKER_00]: She forwarded while I wasn't watching it to this point.
01:02:42.574 --> 01:02:44.255
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, oh my God, I'm so stupid.
01:02:44.395 --> 01:02:44.515
[SPEAKER_00]: OK.
01:02:45.155 --> 01:02:46.496
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm so uncomplicated.
01:02:46.536 --> 01:02:47.056
[SPEAKER_00]: How did I not do that?
01:02:47.096 --> 01:02:48.598
[SPEAKER_02]: You were so uncomplicated.
01:02:48.618 --> 01:02:49.858
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
01:02:49.958 --> 01:02:54.101
[SPEAKER_02]: I loved the popping head out of the, you know, around the bulkhead.
01:02:54.121 --> 01:02:55.582
[SPEAKER_02]: I thought that was true.
01:02:55.803 --> 01:02:56.703
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
01:02:56.763 --> 01:02:59.985
[SPEAKER_02]: Bashir tells Serena in the scene that she did the right thing.
01:03:00.546 --> 01:03:03.548
[SPEAKER_02]: And Jack says that they'll try and figure out a way to beat the Dominion.
01:03:03.708 --> 01:03:06.970
[SPEAKER_02]: And if they do, will he be open to listening?
01:03:07.171 --> 01:03:08.952
[SPEAKER_02]: And Bashir says he would love that.
01:03:10.009 --> 01:03:11.651
[SPEAKER_02]: And they take off on that note.
01:03:11.751 --> 01:03:13.853
[SPEAKER_02]: So I feel like these guys are going to be back.
01:03:13.953 --> 01:03:14.433
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
01:03:14.653 --> 01:03:17.856
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just guessing that's what it felt to me.
01:03:18.717 --> 01:03:24.182
[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to pop back in or at least jack because he's the one that says, you know, if we figure out some.
01:03:24.796 --> 01:03:27.197
[SPEAKER_02]: some ideas we'll be open to it.
01:03:27.337 --> 01:03:31.699
[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see, would you guys find this on or Brian says in the last scene, there's one problem though.
01:03:31.719 --> 01:03:34.740
[SPEAKER_00]: We've got some passengers that are refusing to board unless you come see them.
01:03:35.280 --> 01:03:39.102
[SPEAKER_00]: I thought they were at the entrance to the shuttle, the transit.
01:03:39.142 --> 01:03:39.702
[SPEAKER_00]: I did too.
01:03:39.782 --> 01:03:43.644
[SPEAKER_00]: I read it to go back and they hadn't even left the cargo bay.
01:03:43.664 --> 01:03:46.325
[SPEAKER_00]: It was like, okay, so yeah, a little odd there.
01:03:46.925 --> 01:03:49.126
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, for to be now and that's the end of the episode.
01:03:54.435 --> 01:03:56.916
[SPEAKER_02]: I wrote down one person can make a difference.
01:03:57.377 --> 01:03:59.958
[SPEAKER_02]: That's the sheer theme, too, you know?
01:04:00.138 --> 01:04:03.640
[SPEAKER_01]: I wrote even educated guesses are not the truth.
01:04:04.001 --> 01:04:05.201
[SPEAKER_01]: Like some predictable.
01:04:06.402 --> 01:04:08.983
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to amend mine.
01:04:09.003 --> 01:04:11.665
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go with Robby's and mine as well.
01:04:11.705 --> 01:04:17.088
[SPEAKER_00]: So I love the one person can make it different specier speech as one lesson.
01:04:17.108 --> 01:04:17.268
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
01:04:17.828 --> 01:04:20.450
[SPEAKER_00]: And the other one is don't overthink it.
01:04:24.172 --> 01:04:26.613
[SPEAKER_00]: 18 pads worth of information to show Cisco.
01:04:26.653 --> 01:04:32.176
[SPEAKER_00]: I thought, oh my gosh, guys, you're over and thinking everything here and sometimes we tend to do that as human beings.
01:04:32.196 --> 01:04:37.338
[SPEAKER_00]: We just overthink every situation and when you just got to keep it simple just just get it done.
01:04:37.539 --> 01:04:37.799
[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
01:04:37.939 --> 01:04:40.280
[SPEAKER_00]: Patreon poll winner for theme slash less than slash moral robby.
01:04:40.753 --> 01:04:47.896
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, it's a minute by Laurie Ulster and it is numbers and statistics are just part of the equation, not all of it.
01:04:48.256 --> 01:04:50.077
[SPEAKER_02]: Life is full of surprises.
01:04:50.337 --> 01:04:51.037
[SPEAKER_02]: Great, Laurie.
01:04:51.057 --> 01:05:00.602

[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
01:05:06.866 --> 01:05:07.507
