How many Invisalign clear aligner starts are you losing without ever seeing a lead, a phone call, or a missed consult? We get honest about a “silent killer” for growth in an all-aligner orthodontic practice: the moment a general dentist or hygienist tells a patient they are not a clear aligner candidate, or automatically sends a “braces” request to the one provider known for brackets. That decision happens upstream, inside a relationship built on trust, and it can drain your schedule while your marketing looks perfectly fine.
We walk through why the braces vs Invisalign debate is often more about belief than biomechanics, and how conflicting second opinions create confusion that tanks case acceptance. We also hit the most important reframing: Invisalign and clear aligners are tools, not outcomes. When someone says “aligners can’t,” it’s frequently a signal that the provider isn’t comfortable executing that case with aligners, not that the case is impossible.
Then we get practical. We share why local outreach and in-practice study clubs work, how showing real cases changes referral behavior, and how remote monitoring and a better patient experience can become part of your message to GPs, pediatric dentists, and hygienists. If you want more starts, more trust, and fewer invisible losses, this conversation gives you a clear plan to start closing the referral gap.
Subscribe, share this with a colleague, and leave a five-star review if it helps. What’s the most common myth you hear about aligners in your community?

00:00:00.160 --> 00:00:00.479
Pretty early.
00:00:00.640 --> 00:00:01.280
You ready to go?
00:00:01.439 --> 00:00:01.919
Let's do it.
00:00:02.080 --> 00:00:02.319
I don't know.
00:00:02.479 --> 00:00:05.440
I was telling Rob that I've never shot this early before.
00:00:05.679 --> 00:00:07.120
So we'll see how this one goes.
00:00:07.280 --> 00:00:07.839
That'd be fine.
00:00:08.000 --> 00:00:08.560
You ready to go?
00:00:08.720 --> 00:00:09.359
Yeah, I'm ready.
00:00:09.439 --> 00:00:10.640
You look like you got good sleep.
00:00:10.720 --> 00:00:11.359
I did pretty good.
00:00:11.599 --> 00:00:12.160
You're looking pretty good.
00:00:12.320 --> 00:00:13.039
I'm an early guy, though.
00:00:13.199 --> 00:00:13.679
You're an early guy.
00:00:13.759 --> 00:00:14.400
Yeah, I am too.
00:00:14.480 --> 00:00:16.879
But early shooting podcasts, I don't I don't know.
00:00:16.960 --> 00:00:17.359
I don't know.
00:00:17.760 --> 00:00:19.600
Get your get that brain work in there.
00:00:19.920 --> 00:00:21.120
We're gonna be talking today.
00:00:21.199 --> 00:00:26.320
It's it's kind of a unique barrier or roadblock that has happened to Robson.
00:00:26.559 --> 00:00:39.920
If you've listened to some of the podcasts we've been doing, we've been talking about remote monitoring efficiencies, creating a different type of patient experience, existing patient experience, even more importantly.
00:00:40.320 --> 00:00:48.560
Well, when he was going to this all-aligner, all invisalign practice, there's some there's some barriers that have that have crept up.
00:00:49.039 --> 00:00:56.000
And you want to talk to him about some of the unexpected that the GPs and some of the or the or it it's it kind of blows me away.
00:00:56.079 --> 00:00:58.240
It's been the orthos too, but but it has.
00:00:58.560 --> 00:01:20.959
Yeah, I think one of the things that crept up that I wr I guess I wasn't planning on, you you think you have these referral relationships and and you do, but I found that if they don't believe that you can do cases with Invisalign just like you can with braces, then they start referring to the people who do braces.
00:01:21.120 --> 00:01:21.359
Yeah.
00:01:21.519 --> 00:01:35.840
If you're the Invisalign guy and they don't believe you can do it, now that referral goes to a braces, especially if uh if a one of their patients says I want braces, they don't even look past that.
00:01:36.000 --> 00:01:39.200
They just the referral card goes to the one that does braces.
00:01:39.519 --> 00:01:41.120
Yeah, that there's so many hidden.
00:01:41.760 --> 00:01:43.840
I've talked to Invisalign about this for years.
00:01:43.920 --> 00:01:49.359
This is one of these one of these hidden data points that nobody can put their finger on.
00:01:49.439 --> 00:01:56.400
You know, you can just imagine patient goes into hygiene, expresses interest in ortho.
00:01:57.120 --> 00:02:02.719
Dentists, hygienists don't think that particular case can be done with aligners.
00:02:03.040 --> 00:02:08.479
They are not, and this has happened to them, they are not gonna say, yeah, here, go see, go see Rob Schaefer.
00:02:08.800 --> 00:02:10.319
They're gonna send him somewhere else.
00:02:10.400 --> 00:02:11.520
And that that's a loss.
00:02:11.680 --> 00:02:13.759
I mean, who the heck knows how many times that's happened?
00:02:14.080 --> 00:02:16.240
It could be hundreds of starts, you have no idea.
00:02:16.479 --> 00:02:18.080
A lot, a lot, a lot, yeah.
00:02:18.240 --> 00:02:31.840
And I I mean, one of the things we teach on here, and then all of you, is this infinite this infinite data point where it's the it's the ones you can't put your finger on, those are the biggest loss losses there there are.
00:02:32.000 --> 00:02:37.039
So you've got that, or like he just said, you've got the ones that express, you know, I want braces.
00:02:37.280 --> 00:02:41.199
And if he's an all-invisalign practice, they don't even give him the opportunity.
00:02:41.439 --> 00:02:49.680
And yeah, yeah, and he, you know, with them and also with patients, you know, the general population is uh parents.
00:02:49.840 --> 00:02:52.000
I did braces, so that's what my kids are gonna do.
00:02:52.080 --> 00:02:52.960
That's what works.
00:02:53.199 --> 00:02:58.719
And they think a misconception that uh invisalign is more, you know, costs more.
00:02:58.800 --> 00:03:00.719
It doesn't, you know, in our office.
00:03:01.039 --> 00:03:12.319
And so yeah, if they're not thinking uh liners, yeah, then then their minds going to someone who, you know, their friends who who who the orthodontist that does braces.
00:03:12.400 --> 00:03:14.240
And so it's all of that.
00:03:14.479 --> 00:03:15.759
And yeah.
00:03:15.919 --> 00:03:21.039
Well, yeah, it's I I pay attention to it because in in our area, there's a lot of little kids.
00:03:21.120 --> 00:03:28.639
So our neighbor across the street, our cousins back home, or I guess my brother-in-law's kids, whatever that makes them to me.
00:03:28.800 --> 00:03:29.919
What does that make them to me?
00:03:30.159 --> 00:03:32.159
Your brother, they're your your nephew, they're your nephews.
00:03:32.479 --> 00:03:33.680
Nephews, yeah, that's the word.
00:03:34.000 --> 00:03:35.360
I mean, it's early, I'm telling you.
00:03:36.240 --> 00:03:37.120
I'm trying to get warmed up.
00:03:37.280 --> 00:03:37.680
I guess so.
00:03:37.759 --> 00:03:37.840
Yeah.
00:03:38.080 --> 00:03:41.039
But every single kid, I mean, I could I could name 20.
00:03:41.199 --> 00:03:42.719
Every single one is embraces.
00:03:42.960 --> 00:03:43.120
Yeah.
00:03:43.280 --> 00:04:08.560
And and I think that that the all-invisalign approach and the fact that it can treat, and that's the part in the ortho world, like maybe I get it in the GP world, but even in orthodontics, and it creates this confusion of, I mean, you all can just imagine family goes into practice one, and they're like, Nope, you can't do this with Invisalign or Aligners, can't be done.
00:04:08.960 --> 00:04:12.879
They're like, Well, they're they're already seeing multiple opinions because that's what people do.
00:04:13.039 --> 00:04:14.639
So they go into practice two.
00:04:15.039 --> 00:04:15.919
Maybe that's yours.
00:04:16.079 --> 00:04:18.560
You're like, oh yeah, we knocked this out with Invisalign all day long.
00:04:18.720 --> 00:04:19.759
And they're like, Well, what the hell?
00:04:19.920 --> 00:04:21.199
The other person said they can't do it.
00:04:21.279 --> 00:04:25.199
Now there's confusion, and confusion leads to no sale.
00:04:25.519 --> 00:04:27.439
That's in any industry.
00:04:27.839 --> 00:04:44.319
And this just creates the I want to think about it, but man, the the barriers for all of you out there, if you're trying to grow share to chair with with whatever type of aligner, you're gonna, and that's something we're doing now together, is this outreach and study clubs at your practice when I come in.
00:04:44.560 --> 00:04:46.319
I wish we would have done it a lot earlier.
00:04:46.720 --> 00:04:58.720
But the outreach has got to be is gotta be legit because you're gonna have the orthos and the GPs and the hygienists telling patients they're not a candidate for aligners when they absolutely are.
00:04:58.879 --> 00:04:59.519
You've proven it.
00:04:59.759 --> 00:05:03.360
Yeah, and when we do those those seminars, they're blown away.
00:05:03.519 --> 00:05:06.000
They they and they admit they had no idea.
00:05:06.240 --> 00:05:13.120
And you know, I guess that's kind of my fault, not educating them along the way to but that that's a point.
00:05:13.199 --> 00:05:21.199
You kind of want to do that unless you're you're resolved to that's what you want to do, and that's what I was resolved that that's what I wanted to do, regardless.
00:05:21.439 --> 00:05:25.120
So that is what it is, but but yeah, they they they have no idea.
00:05:25.199 --> 00:05:31.600
And the hygienist, you know, they said if I would have known this six months ago, I would have brought my child to you.
00:05:31.839 --> 00:05:35.120
I remember and and not the one that's doing the braces.
00:05:35.360 --> 00:05:48.720
So it's all about the education, and it's amazing in this day and age that there's so much unbelief surrounding aligners and dental monitoring and all the above.
00:05:49.040 --> 00:05:50.240
The whole the whole thing.
00:05:50.560 --> 00:06:07.120
And the the other thing is is when you lose that opportunity, because even when we get second opinions and people they think they want the braces, but when you go over all the advantages, you know, time savings on their part and everything else, we highly convert them to liners.
00:06:07.199 --> 00:06:12.160
But if you don't have that chance, yeah, then then you lose that too.
00:06:12.319 --> 00:06:13.360
And yeah.
00:06:13.600 --> 00:06:14.879
Well, that's the piece.
00:06:15.120 --> 00:06:18.399
So many people trust their GP and what they say.
00:06:18.800 --> 00:06:29.360
So if the GP's sitting there saying this can't be done with the liners, then they're just gonna assume it can't be done with the liners.
00:06:29.920 --> 00:06:32.720
Yeah, and refer to the person that does braces.
00:06:33.120 --> 00:06:33.839
That does braces.
00:06:33.920 --> 00:06:34.079
Yeah.
00:06:34.240 --> 00:06:46.399
I mean, the the last, I think the one you were referring to, the last the last study club that we did at your practice as we shoot this, I think it was the last one, maybe it was the one before, but it was the last one where that hygienist said that.
00:06:46.480 --> 00:06:51.839
I I could see when you were showing the cases, the eyes in the room are like, holy crap.
00:06:52.000 --> 00:06:52.160
Yeah.
00:06:52.319 --> 00:07:07.199
And I just I wish, like if you're a GP listening out there, you know, and you come across a patient that you don't think Invisalign can do it, just tell them, hey, look, here's a couple options.
00:07:07.360 --> 00:07:13.839
Let let the ortho tell the patient whether or not it can be done with with Invisalign.
00:07:14.079 --> 00:07:16.560
Yeah, and you know, it's or whatever aligner.
00:07:16.959 --> 00:07:19.279
It's it's not the Invisalign that does it.
00:07:19.519 --> 00:07:20.399
And that's the thing, right?
00:07:20.959 --> 00:07:21.519
It's the doctor.
00:07:21.600 --> 00:07:23.439
Yeah, the Invisline is a tool.
00:07:23.519 --> 00:07:23.680
Yeah.
00:07:23.920 --> 00:07:25.600
Just like braces are are the tool.
00:07:25.680 --> 00:07:30.800
It's the visit it's the orthodontist that that controls or uses the tool correctly.
00:07:30.959 --> 00:07:31.360
Yeah.
00:07:31.600 --> 00:07:42.560
And so I so it's not that Invisalign can't do it, it's that the provider is not capable of using the tool correctly.
00:07:42.800 --> 00:07:42.959
Yeah.
00:07:43.199 --> 00:07:53.519
So so rest assured, almost all cases can be done with the liners if you have the right person utilizing the tool correctly.
00:07:53.839 --> 00:08:00.800
And that's I I don't see it, but you know, some of the orthos are like, no, you can't do that with the liners.
00:08:00.879 --> 00:08:10.720
Some of the GPs, I I don't think they're thinking, well, I didn't get enough CE in those particular types of cases.
00:08:10.879 --> 00:08:16.720
Or maybe I don't know what I'm I don't think that that's not what cross, I think what crosses the mind is just can't be done.
00:08:16.879 --> 00:08:17.680
But you're so right.
00:08:17.839 --> 00:08:21.360
I mean, that that's why the investment's in you and not the tool.
00:08:21.680 --> 00:08:35.200
Well, I think they're I think unfortunately they're getting a lot of that information from orthodontists who prefer to do braces and and and and or you know, and don't and say that Invisline can't can't be done with it.
00:08:35.360 --> 00:08:35.440
Yeah.
00:08:35.600 --> 00:08:38.159
And so that's where they're getting their information, I think.
00:08:38.320 --> 00:08:41.600
And so I guess shame on us.
00:08:42.000 --> 00:08:45.440
Yeah, I mean, I guess mass education, that's all you can do.
00:08:45.759 --> 00:08:47.360
So we'll keep it up at your practice.
00:08:47.440 --> 00:08:59.120
But yeah, just the barrier we thought we would talk about today that I mean I I I think we thought about it, but I don't think we thought about it to the extreme it's become of what it's done locally.
00:08:59.679 --> 00:09:01.120
Yeah, I was I was surprised.
00:09:01.200 --> 00:09:10.639
It's more than I thought, but uh again, for me, that's just the route I wanted to go, and I wasn't gonna let what they th thought anyway dictate what I wanted to do.
00:09:10.799 --> 00:09:11.360
Yeah.
00:09:11.679 --> 00:09:28.240
But the there is a potential fallout, if you will, in terms of new patients and and but I think if you can educate along the way and do a better job maybe than I did in that, then I think it it helps.
00:09:28.399 --> 00:09:30.960
I mean it's it's helping with what we're doing, yeah.
00:09:31.120 --> 00:09:46.320
And educating them and it's slow, but I think there's some there's some that'll never get I mean you could show every case on the planet, and it's the old belief perseverance where that they're gonna believe what they believe, and there's no fact there's no fact out there that's gonna get them.
00:09:46.399 --> 00:09:50.960
And that's for true for a lot of the orthodontists too, but it's whatever it is, there's nothing they're gonna change.
00:09:51.039 --> 00:09:52.480
But all you can do is educate.
00:09:52.639 --> 00:10:05.600
You know, for those of you out there that are new patient group clients now, I mean, this is something for our on-site visits that I want to do more and more of is these these study clubs, the the Pedos, the GPs, whoever, just to keep the education up.
00:10:05.840 --> 00:10:07.679
So, you know, keep that in mind.
00:10:07.759 --> 00:10:12.960
But for those of you out there who aren't, you need to make sure that you're having these study clubs at your practice.
00:10:13.120 --> 00:10:20.080
Show them around, show them the tech you're using, and then educate them on why you're the expert in the aligners.
00:10:20.320 --> 00:10:21.279
Because you make a good point.
00:10:21.360 --> 00:10:24.879
I mean, we talk about it, but it's easily lost is the investment's in you.
00:10:25.360 --> 00:10:31.440
It's not in the tool, which the team needs to be selling actively is a reason to buy from you to begin with.
00:10:31.600 --> 00:10:40.799
But yeah, we thought we'd just put one together on these barriers that again, they're they're silent killers because you don't know how many every day in your community.
00:10:40.960 --> 00:10:42.159
And this is we'll end on this.
00:10:42.480 --> 00:10:43.919
I've told Invisalign this for years.
00:10:44.159 --> 00:10:58.799
Imagine how many patients every day across the country, world for that matter, but c across the country are being told you're not an Invisalign candidate, how many thousands of times a day that that happens across the country?
00:10:59.039 --> 00:11:02.320
And because you can't put your finger on it, nobody focuses on it.
00:11:02.480 --> 00:11:08.240
But if there was mass outreach just from an Invisalign growth standpoint as a company, how much that would help them grow?
00:11:08.480 --> 00:11:20.879
Yeah, not only that, but how many patients aren't being treated who need to be treated, but you know, adults in particular, yeah, when they're told Invisalign or aligners can't do this.
00:11:20.960 --> 00:11:21.360
Yeah.
00:11:21.600 --> 00:11:25.440
And therefore, you know, braces are the only option, but they don't want braces.
00:11:25.519 --> 00:11:26.080
Yeah.
00:11:26.559 --> 00:11:32.399
So now they're going untreated, and you know, all the sequality that can happen from that.
00:11:32.720 --> 00:11:33.600
Infinite data.
00:11:33.840 --> 00:11:35.600
Can't put your can't put your finger on it.
00:11:35.679 --> 00:11:37.039
And those are the those are the killers.
00:11:37.120 --> 00:11:38.799
But man, it's hard to convince people of that.
00:11:38.960 --> 00:11:39.600
All right, everybody.
00:11:39.679 --> 00:11:40.559
Hope you enjoyed it.
00:11:40.720 --> 00:11:41.440
It was good, right?
00:11:41.519 --> 00:11:44.240
Yeah, not bad for early morning, early morning shoot.
00:11:44.639 --> 00:11:45.200
I think it's fine.
00:11:45.360 --> 00:11:46.799
Yeah, nobody threw anything at us.
00:11:47.519 --> 00:11:49.200
I think you're it's working.
00:11:49.440 --> 00:11:49.840
It came around.
00:11:50.399 --> 00:11:51.360
Yeah, it came it came around.
00:11:52.080 --> 00:11:53.200
I couldn't think of nephew.
00:11:53.600 --> 00:12:00.960
No, and I blame that on and I don't yeah, you couldn't think of nephew, and I don't really think you introduced us at the beginning.
00:12:01.200 --> 00:12:02.000
Oh, yeah, we didn't.
00:12:02.080 --> 00:12:02.799
We just went right in.
00:12:03.039 --> 00:12:03.600
We went right in.
00:12:03.759 --> 00:12:04.399
Is it too late?
00:12:04.480 --> 00:12:05.279
I'm Brian.
00:12:05.519 --> 00:12:06.080
I'm Dr.
00:12:06.159 --> 00:12:06.799
Schaefer.
00:12:06.960 --> 00:12:08.559
You said you said I did.
00:12:08.879 --> 00:12:09.759
Yeah, look at you.
00:12:10.080 --> 00:12:10.399
Look at that.
00:12:10.559 --> 00:12:14.080
If you've been listening for a while, you under you understand why I got excited at that.
00:12:14.159 --> 00:12:15.279
But uh cool, everybody.
00:12:15.440 --> 00:12:22.320
If you're watching on YouTube, hey there, make sure to thumb this up, share with with friends, colleagues, whoever wants to get better personally and professionally.
00:12:22.399 --> 00:12:23.360

And audio experience listeners, make sure to write us a five star review and spread the word about the Brian Wright show.
00:12:29.679 --> 00:12:30.480
We'll see everybody soon.
00:12:30.559 --> 00:12:30.960
Bye bye.
00:12:31.120 --> 00:12:31.600
Bye bye.
00:00:00.160 --> 00:00:00.479
Pretty early.
00:00:00.640 --> 00:00:01.280
You ready to go?
00:00:01.439 --> 00:00:01.919
Let's do it.
00:00:02.080 --> 00:00:02.319
I don't know.
00:00:02.479 --> 00:00:05.440
I was telling Rob that I've never shot this early before.
00:00:05.679 --> 00:00:07.120
So we'll see how this one goes.
00:00:07.280 --> 00:00:07.839
That'd be fine.
00:00:08.000 --> 00:00:08.560
You ready to go?
00:00:08.720 --> 00:00:09.359
Yeah, I'm ready.
00:00:09.439 --> 00:00:10.640
You look like you got good sleep.
00:00:10.720 --> 00:00:11.359
I did pretty good.
00:00:11.599 --> 00:00:12.160
You're looking pretty good.
00:00:12.320 --> 00:00:13.039
I'm an early guy, though.
00:00:13.199 --> 00:00:13.679
You're an early guy.
00:00:13.759 --> 00:00:14.400
Yeah, I am too.
00:00:14.480 --> 00:00:16.879
But early shooting podcasts, I don't I don't know.
00:00:16.960 --> 00:00:17.359
I don't know.
00:00:17.760 --> 00:00:19.600
Get your get that brain work in there.
00:00:19.920 --> 00:00:21.120
We're gonna be talking today.
00:00:21.199 --> 00:00:26.320
It's it's kind of a unique barrier or roadblock that has happened to Robson.
00:00:26.559 --> 00:00:39.920
If you've listened to some of the podcasts we've been doing, we've been talking about remote monitoring efficiencies, creating a different type of patient experience, existing patient experience, even more importantly.
00:00:40.320 --> 00:00:48.560
Well, when he was going to this all-aligner, all invisalign practice, there's some there's some barriers that have that have crept up.
00:00:49.039 --> 00:00:56.000
And you want to talk to him about some of the unexpected that the GPs and some of the or the or it it's it kind of blows me away.
00:00:56.079 --> 00:00:58.240
It's been the orthos too, but but it has.
00:00:58.560 --> 00:01:20.959
Yeah, I think one of the things that crept up that I wr I guess I wasn't planning on, you you think you have these referral relationships and and you do, but I found that if they don't believe that you can do cases with Invisalign just like you can with braces, then they start referring to the people who do braces.
00:01:21.120 --> 00:01:21.359
Yeah.
00:01:21.519 --> 00:01:35.840
If you're the Invisalign guy and they don't believe you can do it, now that referral goes to a braces, especially if uh if a one of their patients says I want braces, they don't even look past that.
00:01:36.000 --> 00:01:39.200
They just the referral card goes to the one that does braces.
00:01:39.519 --> 00:01:41.120
Yeah, that there's so many hidden.
00:01:41.760 --> 00:01:43.840
I've talked to Invisalign about this for years.
00:01:43.920 --> 00:01:49.359
This is one of these one of these hidden data points that nobody can put their finger on.
00:01:49.439 --> 00:01:56.400
You know, you can just imagine patient goes into hygiene, expresses interest in ortho.
00:01:57.120 --> 00:02:02.719
Dentists, hygienists don't think that particular case can be done with aligners.
00:02:03.040 --> 00:02:08.479
They are not, and this has happened to them, they are not gonna say, yeah, here, go see, go see Rob Schaefer.
00:02:08.800 --> 00:02:10.319
They're gonna send him somewhere else.
00:02:10.400 --> 00:02:11.520
And that that's a loss.
00:02:11.680 --> 00:02:13.759
I mean, who the heck knows how many times that's happened?
00:02:14.080 --> 00:02:16.240
It could be hundreds of starts, you have no idea.
00:02:16.479 --> 00:02:18.080
A lot, a lot, a lot, yeah.
00:02:18.240 --> 00:02:31.840
And I I mean, one of the things we teach on here, and then all of you, is this infinite this infinite data point where it's the it's the ones you can't put your finger on, those are the biggest loss losses there there are.
00:02:32.000 --> 00:02:37.039
So you've got that, or like he just said, you've got the ones that express, you know, I want braces.
00:02:37.280 --> 00:02:41.199
And if he's an all-invisalign practice, they don't even give him the opportunity.
00:02:41.439 --> 00:02:49.680
And yeah, yeah, and he, you know, with them and also with patients, you know, the general population is uh parents.
00:02:49.840 --> 00:02:52.000
I did braces, so that's what my kids are gonna do.
00:02:52.080 --> 00:02:52.960
That's what works.
00:02:53.199 --> 00:02:58.719
And they think a misconception that uh invisalign is more, you know, costs more.
00:02:58.800 --> 00:03:00.719
It doesn't, you know, in our office.
00:03:01.039 --> 00:03:12.319
And so yeah, if they're not thinking uh liners, yeah, then then their minds going to someone who, you know, their friends who who who the orthodontist that does braces.
00:03:12.400 --> 00:03:14.240
And so it's all of that.
00:03:14.479 --> 00:03:15.759
And yeah.
00:03:15.919 --> 00:03:21.039
Well, yeah, it's I I pay attention to it because in in our area, there's a lot of little kids.
00:03:21.120 --> 00:03:28.639
So our neighbor across the street, our cousins back home, or I guess my brother-in-law's kids, whatever that makes them to me.
00:03:28.800 --> 00:03:29.919
What does that make them to me?
00:03:30.159 --> 00:03:32.159
Your brother, they're your your nephew, they're your nephews.
00:03:32.479 --> 00:03:33.680
Nephews, yeah, that's the word.
00:03:34.000 --> 00:03:35.360
I mean, it's early, I'm telling you.
00:03:36.240 --> 00:03:37.120
I'm trying to get warmed up.
00:03:37.280 --> 00:03:37.680
I guess so.
00:03:37.759 --> 00:03:37.840
Yeah.
00:03:38.080 --> 00:03:41.039
But every single kid, I mean, I could I could name 20.
00:03:41.199 --> 00:03:42.719
Every single one is embraces.
00:03:42.960 --> 00:03:43.120
Yeah.
00:03:43.280 --> 00:04:08.560
00:04:08.960 --> 00:04:12.879
They're like, Well, they're they're already seeing multiple opinions because that's what people do.
00:04:13.039 --> 00:04:14.639
So they go into practice two.
00:04:15.039 --> 00:04:15.919
Maybe that's yours.
00:04:16.079 --> 00:04:18.560
You're like, oh yeah, we knocked this out with Invisalign all day long.
00:04:18.720 --> 00:04:19.759
And they're like, Well, what the hell?
00:04:19.920 --> 00:04:21.199
The other person said they can't do it.
00:04:21.279 --> 00:04:25.199
Now there's confusion, and confusion leads to no sale.
00:04:25.519 --> 00:04:27.439
That's in any industry.
00:04:27.839 --> 00:04:44.319
And this just creates the I want to think about it, but man, the the barriers for all of you out there, if you're trying to grow share to chair with with whatever type of aligner, you're gonna, and that's something we're doing now together, is this outreach and study clubs at your practice when I come in.
00:04:44.560 --> 00:04:46.319
I wish we would have done it a lot earlier.
00:04:46.720 --> 00:04:58.720
But the outreach has got to be is gotta be legit because you're gonna have the orthos and the GPs and the hygienists telling patients they're not a candidate for aligners when they absolutely are.
00:04:58.879 --> 00:04:59.519
You've proven it.
00:04:59.759 --> 00:05:03.360
Yeah, and when we do those those seminars, they're blown away.
00:05:03.519 --> 00:05:06.000
They they and they admit they had no idea.
00:05:06.240 --> 00:05:13.120
And you know, I guess that's kind of my fault, not educating them along the way to but that that's a point.
00:05:13.199 --> 00:05:21.199
You kind of want to do that unless you're you're resolved to that's what you want to do, and that's what I was resolved that that's what I wanted to do, regardless.
00:05:21.439 --> 00:05:25.120
So that is what it is, but but yeah, they they they have no idea.
00:05:25.199 --> 00:05:31.600
And the hygienist, you know, they said if I would have known this six months ago, I would have brought my child to you.
00:05:31.839 --> 00:05:35.120
I remember and and not the one that's doing the braces.
00:05:35.360 --> 00:05:48.720
So it's all about the education, and it's amazing in this day and age that there's so much unbelief surrounding aligners and dental monitoring and all the above.
00:05:49.040 --> 00:05:50.240
The whole the whole thing.
00:05:50.560 --> 00:06:07.120
And the the other thing is is when you lose that opportunity, because even when we get second opinions and people they think they want the braces, but when you go over all the advantages, you know, time savings on their part and everything else, we highly convert them to liners.
00:06:07.199 --> 00:06:12.160
But if you don't have that chance, yeah, then then you lose that too.
00:06:12.319 --> 00:06:13.360
And yeah.
00:06:13.600 --> 00:06:14.879
Well, that's the piece.
00:06:15.120 --> 00:06:18.399
So many people trust their GP and what they say.
00:06:18.800 --> 00:06:29.360
So if the GP's sitting there saying this can't be done with the liners, then they're just gonna assume it can't be done with the liners.
00:06:29.920 --> 00:06:32.720
Yeah, and refer to the person that does braces.
00:06:33.120 --> 00:06:33.839
That does braces.
00:06:33.920 --> 00:06:34.079
Yeah.
00:06:34.240 --> 00:06:46.399
I mean, the the last, I think the one you were referring to, the last the last study club that we did at your practice as we shoot this, I think it was the last one, maybe it was the one before, but it was the last one where that hygienist said that.
00:06:46.480 --> 00:06:51.839
I I could see when you were showing the cases, the eyes in the room are like, holy crap.
00:06:52.000 --> 00:06:52.160
Yeah.
00:06:52.319 --> 00:07:07.199
And I just I wish, like if you're a GP listening out there, you know, and you come across a patient that you don't think Invisalign can do it, just tell them, hey, look, here's a couple options.
00:07:07.360 --> 00:07:13.839
Let let the ortho tell the patient whether or not it can be done with with Invisalign.
00:07:14.079 --> 00:07:16.560
Yeah, and you know, it's or whatever aligner.
00:07:16.959 --> 00:07:19.279
It's it's not the Invisalign that does it.
00:07:19.519 --> 00:07:20.399
And that's the thing, right?
00:07:20.959 --> 00:07:21.519
It's the doctor.
00:07:21.600 --> 00:07:23.439
Yeah, the Invisline is a tool.
00:07:23.519 --> 00:07:23.680
Yeah.
00:07:23.920 --> 00:07:25.600
Just like braces are are the tool.
00:07:25.680 --> 00:07:30.800
It's the visit it's the orthodontist that that controls or uses the tool correctly.
00:07:30.959 --> 00:07:31.360
Yeah.
00:07:31.600 --> 00:07:42.560
And so I so it's not that Invisalign can't do it, it's that the provider is not capable of using the tool correctly.
00:07:42.800 --> 00:07:42.959
Yeah.
00:07:43.199 --> 00:07:53.519
So so rest assured, almost all cases can be done with the liners if you have the right person utilizing the tool correctly.
00:07:53.839 --> 00:08:00.800
And that's I I don't see it, but you know, some of the orthos are like, no, you can't do that with the liners.
00:08:00.879 --> 00:08:10.720
Some of the GPs, I I don't think they're thinking, well, I didn't get enough CE in those particular types of cases.
00:08:10.879 --> 00:08:16.720
Or maybe I don't know what I'm I don't think that that's not what cross, I think what crosses the mind is just can't be done.
00:08:16.879 --> 00:08:17.680
But you're so right.
00:08:17.839 --> 00:08:21.360
I mean, that that's why the investment's in you and not the tool.
00:08:21.680 --> 00:08:35.200
Well, I think they're I think unfortunately they're getting a lot of that information from orthodontists who prefer to do braces and and and and or you know, and don't and say that Invisline can't can't be done with it.
00:08:35.360 --> 00:08:35.440
Yeah.
00:08:35.600 --> 00:08:38.159
And so that's where they're getting their information, I think.
00:08:38.320 --> 00:08:41.600
And so I guess shame on us.
00:08:42.000 --> 00:08:45.440
Yeah, I mean, I guess mass education, that's all you can do.
00:08:45.759 --> 00:08:47.360
So we'll keep it up at your practice.
00:08:47.440 --> 00:08:59.120
But yeah, just the barrier we thought we would talk about today that I mean I I I think we thought about it, but I don't think we thought about it to the extreme it's become of what it's done locally.
00:08:59.679 --> 00:09:01.120
Yeah, I was I was surprised.
00:09:01.200 --> 00:09:10.639
It's more than I thought, but uh again, for me, that's just the route I wanted to go, and I wasn't gonna let what they th thought anyway dictate what I wanted to do.
00:09:10.799 --> 00:09:11.360
Yeah.
00:09:11.679 --> 00:09:28.240
But the there is a potential fallout, if you will, in terms of new patients and and but I think if you can educate along the way and do a better job maybe than I did in that, then I think it it helps.
00:09:28.399 --> 00:09:30.960
I mean it's it's helping with what we're doing, yeah.
00:09:31.120 --> 00:09:46.320
And educating them and it's slow, but I think there's some there's some that'll never get I mean you could show every case on the planet, and it's the old belief perseverance where that they're gonna believe what they believe, and there's no fact there's no fact out there that's gonna get them.
00:09:46.399 --> 00:09:50.960
And that's for true for a lot of the orthodontists too, but it's whatever it is, there's nothing they're gonna change.
00:09:51.039 --> 00:09:52.480
But all you can do is educate.
00:09:52.639 --> 00:10:05.600
You know, for those of you out there that are new patient group clients now, I mean, this is something for our on-site visits that I want to do more and more of is these these study clubs, the the Pedos, the GPs, whoever, just to keep the education up.
00:10:05.840 --> 00:10:07.679
So, you know, keep that in mind.
00:10:07.759 --> 00:10:12.960
But for those of you out there who aren't, you need to make sure that you're having these study clubs at your practice.
00:10:13.120 --> 00:10:20.080
Show them around, show them the tech you're using, and then educate them on why you're the expert in the aligners.
00:10:20.320 --> 00:10:21.279
Because you make a good point.
00:10:21.360 --> 00:10:24.879
I mean, we talk about it, but it's easily lost is the investment's in you.
00:10:25.360 --> 00:10:31.440
It's not in the tool, which the team needs to be selling actively is a reason to buy from you to begin with.
00:10:31.600 --> 00:10:40.799
But yeah, we thought we'd just put one together on these barriers that again, they're they're silent killers because you don't know how many every day in your community.
00:10:40.960 --> 00:10:42.159
And this is we'll end on this.
00:10:42.480 --> 00:10:43.919
I've told Invisalign this for years.
00:10:44.159 --> 00:10:58.799
Imagine how many patients every day across the country, world for that matter, but c across the country are being told you're not an Invisalign candidate, how many thousands of times a day that that happens across the country?
00:10:59.039 --> 00:11:02.320
And because you can't put your finger on it, nobody focuses on it.
00:11:02.480 --> 00:11:08.240
But if there was mass outreach just from an Invisalign growth standpoint as a company, how much that would help them grow?
00:11:08.480 --> 00:11:20.879
Yeah, not only that, but how many patients aren't being treated who need to be treated, but you know, adults in particular, yeah, when they're told Invisalign or aligners can't do this.
00:11:20.960 --> 00:11:21.360
Yeah.
00:11:21.600 --> 00:11:25.440
And therefore, you know, braces are the only option, but they don't want braces.
00:11:25.519 --> 00:11:26.080
Yeah.
00:11:26.559 --> 00:11:32.399
So now they're going untreated, and you know, all the sequality that can happen from that.
00:11:32.720 --> 00:11:33.600
Infinite data.
00:11:33.840 --> 00:11:35.600
Can't put your can't put your finger on it.
00:11:35.679 --> 00:11:37.039
And those are the those are the killers.
00:11:37.120 --> 00:11:38.799
But man, it's hard to convince people of that.
00:11:38.960 --> 00:11:39.600
All right, everybody.
00:11:39.679 --> 00:11:40.559
Hope you enjoyed it.
00:11:40.720 --> 00:11:41.440
It was good, right?
00:11:41.519 --> 00:11:44.240
Yeah, not bad for early morning, early morning shoot.
00:11:44.639 --> 00:11:45.200
I think it's fine.
00:11:45.360 --> 00:11:46.799
Yeah, nobody threw anything at us.
00:11:47.519 --> 00:11:49.200
I think you're it's working.
00:11:49.440 --> 00:11:49.840
It came around.
00:11:50.399 --> 00:11:51.360
Yeah, it came it came around.
00:11:52.080 --> 00:11:53.200
I couldn't think of nephew.
00:11:53.600 --> 00:12:00.960
No, and I blame that on and I don't yeah, you couldn't think of nephew, and I don't really think you introduced us at the beginning.
00:12:01.200 --> 00:12:02.000
Oh, yeah, we didn't.
00:12:02.080 --> 00:12:02.799
We just went right in.
00:12:03.039 --> 00:12:03.600
We went right in.
00:12:03.759 --> 00:12:04.399
