ÜBER DIESE EPISODE
Michigan football enters 2026 needing a major offensive step forward. With Bryce Underwood back at quarterback and Jason Beck shaping the offense, what has to change for Michigan to become more explosive?
In this episode of The Breakdown, we look back at Michigan’s 2025 offensive performance and examine where the Wolverines must improve heading into 2026. That starts with the increased emphasis on strength, physicality and development up front, but it extends throughout an offense that will need to be more consistent and adaptable against the best defenses on the schedule.
We break down Bryce Underwood’s development under Jason Beck, including why improved decision-making could be more important than changing his mechanics. We also look at the competition along Michigan’s offensive line, the potential impact of the six-man offensive line package, and whether this group can become a true strength of the offense.
Then there’s the skill-position talent. How deep is Michigan’s running back room? How creative can the Wolverines get with their backs? Which wide receivers separate themselves, and why could blocking ability play a major role in determining who earns snaps?
Michigan has talent. The bigger question is whether the coaching staff can put that talent in better situations and develop an offensive identity capable of winning when defenses take away Plan A.
Can Michigan’s offense take the next step in 2026?
