A worthy walk- After focusing on all God has done for us for the first three chapters, Paul says this should be our motivation for practical Christian living. Walking in a way that is worthy of our calling will include the common goal of maintaining unity in the church.

Purpose and prayer- What is the purpose of the church? The church called to be how God teaches the world about His plan and His work. Paul prays a prayer for himself, and all believers, that we would be strengthened to live out such a special and high calling.

Spiritual gifts- God has given spiritual gifts to each of His followers to be used to edify the body of Christ. What is God's design and requirement for spiritual leadership in the church? Are there still apostles and prophets today?

The mystery revealed- What was previously unknowable, the mystery of the church, has now been revealed through Jesus Christ. Paul was amazed that he could be part of the body of Christ by God's grace. It can be easy to take that privilege for granted.
