ÜBER DIESE EPISODE
Today I talk about running when ill, because I woke up on day 2095 with the worst head cold I have ever had. I am heavily congested, my head aches and I feel a little feverish. I have been sick on a run two or three times, and being sick gave me relief. This time I get none.My first advice is honest. If you do not have to run, rest. Running will not make me feel better, and I expect to feel worse afterwards. I run daily because of a streak tied to a fundraising mission, so I made that choice a long time ago.If you run regardless, I treat it as recovery. I run 30 to 45 seconds per kilometre slower, I focus on hydration and fuel, and I stop when my body asks. I even planned a newsagent stop on the way back for a drink. The lesson for me is that consistency does not need intensity. A poor day needs a smaller version of the habit, not a skipped day. I have covered 16,134.83 km of the 40,075 km lap of the world, with 23,940.17 km left. The mission is to raise £1M for children's causes, and a cold is small beside that. If you are building your own streak, plan for ill days while you feel well. Listen, follow and share with a runner who needs it. #runningwhenill #streakrunning #recoveryrun #endurance #ukrunnerscommunity #runnerslifestyle #ultrarunninglife #runformentalhealth #strava #stravarun #Insta360 #vibramfivefingersWatch the full episode: https://youtu.be/PoUMsRQTdkw
