ÜBER DIESE EPISODE
Cordiant Digital Infrastructure Executive Chairman Steve Marshall and Chief Finanncial Officer Andrew Ewe joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss the company’s first-quarter trading update for the financial year ending March 31, 2027, highlighting continued growth across its portfolio and increasing demand for AI-related digital infrastructure services.
For the three months ended June 30, 2026, portfolio revenue increased 20.2% year-over-year on a constant currency basis, while EBITDA rose 2.0%. Management noted that EBITDA growth was temporarily affected by project revenue phasing and customer transitions, but expects momentum to strengthen throughout the remainder of the fiscal year as recently secured contracts begin contributing revenue and a growing sales pipeline converts into long-term business.
Revenue growth was supported in part by the integration of BT Ireland, which was acquired in September 2025. Cordiant reported that integration efforts and synergy initiatives are progressing well and contributing positively to the portfolio.
A major theme of the quarter was the accelerating impact of artificial intelligence on demand for digital infrastructure. Across its portfolio companies, Cordiant continued converting AI-related opportunities into contracted revenue.
At CRA, the company signed six GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) contracts worth approximately £6.5 million in committed annual recurring revenue. Meanwhile, Hudson secured a five-year, 1.8-megawatt agreement with an AI cloud provider, helping increase utilization on its sixth floor to approximately 83% and moving the facility significantly closer to EBITDA breakeven levels.
Elsewhere, DCU signed a 3-megawatt high-density data centre contract at its Machelen facility in Belgium. While revenue directly attributable to AI workloads currently represents less than 1% of total portfolio revenue, management views AI as a significant new growth driver with substantial long-term potential.
Cordiant also announced that construction has officially begun on the first phase of its Prague Gateway data centre project following the signing of an engineering, procurement and construction contract with Skanska. The initial phase represents an investment of up to £74 million.
Looking ahead, Cordiant highlighted a substantial pipeline of expansion opportunities. The company estimates that committed and identified growth projects across its portfolio represent at least £410 million of potential capital investment capable of generating attractive double-digit internal rates of return.
When including projects still under evaluation—such as the AI Gigafactory initiative, additional data centre capacity expansions and potential acquisitions—the total opportunity pipeline could exceed £1 billion.
Marshall emphasized that securing funding to pursue these high-return growth opportunities is now a key strategic priority for the company.
