The Colorado Avalanche did call to inquire about the possibility of acquiring Jack Eichel in a trade, but when Buffalo said they would not retain any salary those talks ended. Vegas swooped in and landed the superstar and now the Avalanche have to be asking themselves did they miss an opportunity?

The Avs can take a wait and see approach on a few accounts. Definitely something to watch as the season goes on.
