ÜBER DIESE EPISODE
Matt Corby joins Seany B for a special episode of In Session, breaking down his fourth studio album, Tragic Magic, track by track.
Across the conversation, Matt opens up about the ideas behind the record, the emotional tension running through it, and how love, ego and vulnerability shaped the writing process.
He talks through key tracks including War To Love, Big Ideas, Long and Short, Know It All and Burn It Down, and how each song fits into the wider story of the album. Matt also dives into the sonic direction of Tragic Magic, drawing inspiration from 70s disco and soul, and how that influence pushed him into new creative territory.
We also get into his hands-on approach as a producer, performing most of the instrumentation himself and collaborating with Nat Dunn, Chris Collins and Dan Hume to shape the final sound.
On a more personal level, Matt reflects on relationships, growth and what it means to choose love even when it is not easy, the emotional thread sitting at the centre of the album.
This is Tragic Magic, unpacked in full.
Matt Corby’s fourth studio album Tragic Magic is out now.
