Overlapping Corruption? The Surprising Connection Between Sandra Birchmore and Karen Read

The same DA's office and CPAC investigators involved in Sandra Birchmore's case overlap with those under scrutiny in the Karen Read investigation. Sandra was twelve or thirteen when she was brought into a police explorer program with no meaningful oversight over the officers who staffed it. Multiple officers allegedly used that access for years. When she died, Farwell was treated like a grieving colleague. No formal on-camera interrogation. Building surveillance allegedly showed him leaving her apartment in the critical time frame. The case was closed as self-inflicted with no warrant. The FBI had to take over because local authorities wouldn't investigate their own. Only Farwell has been charged. Robert Devine and William Farwell have been named in the broader alleged conduct but face no federal civil rights charges. If Farwell is convicted, the question is whether the DOJ launches a pattern-or-practice investigation into the department that produced all of this — or whether one conviction ends the accountability.
