ÜBER DIESE EPISODE
What if nothing is the thing you need right now?
Justin recorded this episode on the bluffs in Pacifica, with the beach and ocean below and a drizzly sky overhead. He had been trying to come up with something important, positive, or useful to say. Instead, he kept coming up with nothing; and he realized that was exactly what was needed.
This is a short invitation to step out of the chase for the next thing and notice what is already here. Justin reflects on the disappointment that can follow getting what you thought you wanted, the difference between trying and allowing, and how a little open space can bring a different perspective, more choice, and a sense of possibility. There is no five-step formula to follow. The experience is the point.
In this episode:
- Why getting “the thing” may still leave you wanting
- What you can notice when you pause and pay attention
- How letting go of trying can make room for allowing
- Why “nothing” can feel like a blank canvas
Who are you becoming, and what might that person experience?
Justin would love to hear from you. If this kind of reflective episode resonates, send him a note, subscribe, leave a review, or share it with someone who might enjoy a few minutes of space.

TRANSKRIPT 🔗
00:00:05.549 --> 00:01:45.370
Okay, welcome to the show. Today, I am talking about nothing and how that might actually be the thing that changes everything instead of grasping for something. So I just got finished recording the video that'll be going up on YouTube, and I'm out here on the bluffs in Pacifica with probably you know 100, 150, maybe 200 foot drop down below. Then there's beach and beautiful ocean, and it's a it's a dreary, dreary day, like a little sprinkly, yet there's a calm, there's a possibility, there's a refreshing sense about that, and so I think talking about the power of being okay with nothing for a little bit, because often we're just so so into it's gotta gotta be something. Got to be something important, something positive, something beneficial, something meaningful. And it's okay to sometimes just let let that go for a little bit, and just rest in nothing, in no thing, and just allow, because that really is what will allow for a blank canvas. And so that's what I talk about in the the upcoming audio from the YouTube video. So if you haven't checked out the YouTube, you know, go check it out. Justin Wenck PhD yet, you're gonna get a lot just from listening, because that's that's that's what I do. I bring a lot, and I hope you're liking what I'm bringing. If so, let me know.

Are you ready to live a life with enough time, money, and energy have relationships and connections that delight you. Are you ready for the extraordinary life you know you've been missing? If so, then this is the place for you.

00:02:27.620 --> 00:02:53.409
It's time for engineering emotions and energy with me, Justin Wenck, Ph.D. So, welcome to this video. is wanting to come up with something, and I was only coming up with nothing, and then I realized that's it.
00:02:45.939 --> 00:03:56.710
That's the point. Nothing. And if you're here, there's probably a reason for that, because maybe nothing is the something you've been waiting for, so make sure you stick around and enjoy. And I'm going to explain why nothing is sometimes the most powerful, most important, most beneficial thing compared to something, because often we're always struggling to be doing the thing, or getting the thing, or having the thing, or always some thing or another. Yet, how many times have you gone for the thing, and it's been a struggle, it's been a challenge, it hasn't worked out. Maybe even got the thing, and then the thing wasn't really what you wanted, or it came with things that you're like, oh, I didn't know that's what that meant. So sometimes nothing really is the thing, just being, just experiencing.
00:03:53.080 --> 00:04:09.060
So that's that's kind of what this video is. It's a little bit of an experience. It's not here to teach you anything. Not here to give you the five the five ways to get to the five things, the five fastest whatever.
00:04:10.379 --> 00:05:02.490
There's going to be plenty of time for that. But sometimes, really, it's just about experience and being in the moment. You being here, listening to this, seeing what you see, enjoying what you enjoy, or maybe even not enjoying what you're experiencing-it's all good, it's okay. Yet, sometimes it's really just: Are you here in the moment? Are you noticing that you're present? Are you noticing the sounds, the sensations, the emotions, the feelings, the longings, the regrets, the thoughts, the plans, all of it, and going? I recognize that. And I'm gonna let that go for a bit.
00:05:03.449 --> 00:05:22.439
I'm just gonna experience nothing, nothing, which really lets you experience anything and everything. It's all available right here, right now, with a breath, with a look. Let's just.
00:05:23.149 --> 00:07:37.310
a calm presence, because I know even just a couple minutes that I've been here, I've experienced so much, and if you've been paying attention, I'm sure you started to notice a lot of things happening, a lot of things that you probably wouldn't have experienced if you'd been trying to gain something from this video, and it's okay to just let go of trying, but sometimes it's about just allowing, right? Because in trying to do something for this video, I was like, I want to do something positive. I kept kept coming up with all these possible topics, you know, all these cool ideas. It's like, oh, that's that's really gonna do it. It's gonna get the get the the numbers and the things. And yeah, there's a little bit when we're trying to do something positive, that means we're welcoming in the negative as well, because it's like positive in comparison to what. Without something negative, there is no positive. And so that was kind of what I always realized with each of those such clever topics that were so so positive. I was gonna get it, get that negative thing out of you, and get you to experience something positive, and it's one of those things I try to not be positive or negative, left or right. Try to try to rise above as much as possible. Not above isn't better, but just different perspective. And when you get a different perspective, then it really allows for some choice and some freedom, and maybe that's really what you're looking for is some choice and some freedom by having taken just a few minutes in nothing and no thing that allows you to see what could be. So when you're stuck with something, often it's hard to see if there could ever be something else, and when you're okay with nothing, that's a blank canvas, and everything's possible. And so, with that, I'm kind of
00:07:37.339 --> 00:08:52.090
what's possible now after you've been here with me for these for these few minutes, watching something that's probably been like nothing you've ever seen, listened to, or experienced on YouTube before. But you're wanting something different, something you've never experienced, seen, or been before. It's really about who are you becoming, and who is that person, and what are they experiencing? Let me know in the comments. I'd love to hear, and I'll read it, and I'll I'll say hi. And you know, while you're there doing comments, remember to like and subscribe so that I know, hey, this is the kind of video that's the thing, but no thing is the thing, and yeah, with that, I think that's enough.
