00:00:10.720 --> 00:00:14.599
Tonight, the police officer convicted of murdering George Floyd is
2
00:00:14.679 --> 00:00:17.760
asking a court to throw the entire case out. It's
3
00:00:17.760 --> 00:00:20.640
his third attempt, and this time well the richest man
4
00:00:20.679 --> 00:00:23.039
in the world is advocating for him, posting on X
5
00:00:23.239 --> 00:00:26.519
Free Chauvin and the President just struck a deal. He says,
6
00:00:26.559 --> 00:00:29.519
We'll slash the price of your hamburger meat, but their
7
00:00:29.600 --> 00:00:32.640
concerns that American ranchers could end up paying the price.
8
00:00:32.920 --> 00:00:36.880
More on that later. But first, Cora was five years old,
9
00:00:37.359 --> 00:00:41.479
Dawson was three, Callen was eight months old, still a baby,
10
00:00:42.240 --> 00:00:44.640
and on a January night in twenty twenty three, then
11
00:00:44.679 --> 00:00:49.000
a quiet town south of Boston, their mother strangled all
12
00:00:49.039 --> 00:00:51.640
three of them, one at a time with exercise bands.
13
00:00:52.240 --> 00:00:53.119
Shouldn't deny it.
14
00:00:53.399 --> 00:00:56.399
Her own lawyer stood up in court and admitted that
15
00:00:56.520 --> 00:01:00.679
she did it. This week, while a jury decide whether
16
00:01:01.000 --> 00:01:05.200
Lindsey Clancy is a murderer or just a woman who
17
00:01:05.200 --> 00:01:10.159
lost her mind, something is happening on the courthouse steps
18
00:01:10.760 --> 00:01:14.879
that's starting to gain more traction than the case itself.
19
00:01:15.640 --> 00:01:16.359
The facts of the.
20
00:01:16.280 --> 00:01:19.400
Case really aren't in dispute with the Clancy killed her
21
00:01:19.400 --> 00:01:24.120
three children, whether her defense argues is that she shouldn't
22
00:01:24.120 --> 00:01:26.799
be held responsible for it because she was in the
23
00:01:26.840 --> 00:01:32.079
grip of severe postpartum psychosis, that she'd been over medicated,
24
00:01:32.400 --> 00:01:34.640
that she heard a voice telling her to do it.
25
00:01:35.640 --> 00:01:39.159
Prosecutors argue the opposite, that she planned it, that she
26
00:01:39.280 --> 00:01:43.599
sent her husband out on an errand to buy herself time,
27
00:01:44.680 --> 00:01:47.879
that she wanted to take those children with her when
28
00:01:47.920 --> 00:01:51.120
she tried to end her own life that same night.
29
00:01:51.959 --> 00:01:53.079
Now she survived.
30
00:01:53.519 --> 00:01:56.239
She went out on a second story window, and now
31
00:01:56.280 --> 00:01:58.640
she's paralyzed in a wheelchair.
32
00:01:58.799 --> 00:02:02.000
On trial for first murder. Twelve jurors will decide her.
33
00:02:01.920 --> 00:02:06.560
Fate any day. So let's look at what happened outside
34
00:02:06.760 --> 00:02:11.280
the courthouse yesterday. Because while the jury sat inside, roughly
35
00:02:11.360 --> 00:02:16.280
three hundred people, nearly all of them women, gathered in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
36
00:02:16.319 --> 00:02:20.599
They wore pink It wore shirts that read believe and
37
00:02:21.199 --> 00:02:22.479
she needed help.
38
00:02:22.360 --> 00:02:24.960
And peace for Lindsey.
39
00:02:25.439 --> 00:02:28.680
They waved flags from other countries to show support from
40
00:02:28.719 --> 00:02:32.759
the global community. They stood in a circle and said
41
00:02:32.759 --> 00:02:37.280
the Lord's Prayer and raised their arms and made hearts
42
00:02:37.319 --> 00:02:41.000
with their hands. And when Lindsay Clancy's defense attorney walked
43
00:02:41.039 --> 00:02:42.639
up to that courthouse.
44
00:02:42.439 --> 00:02:53.800
The crowd broke out into applause, look.
45
00:02:57.280 --> 00:03:00.560
A rally, applause for the defense of a woman who
46
00:03:00.800 --> 00:03:03.919
strangled her three small children. The organizer stood in front
47
00:03:03.919 --> 00:03:06.680
of that crowd and told them to trust the lawyer
48
00:03:06.719 --> 00:03:07.400
because he was.
49
00:03:08.080 --> 00:03:10.560
He had Lindsay's fight, Lindsay's fight.
50
00:03:11.759 --> 00:03:15.400
Somewhere in that sentence, three dead children just quietly vanished.
51
00:03:15.400 --> 00:03:16.919
It was really about Lindsay, right.
52
00:03:17.680 --> 00:03:19.639
And it isn't only the people who came there in
53
00:03:19.680 --> 00:03:23.360
person and pink to cheer for her on TikTok.
54
00:03:23.400 --> 00:03:25.840
There's this odd trend right now of.
55
00:03:25.759 --> 00:03:31.199
Women filling in themselves, cradling their babies, tearing up, capturing
56
00:03:31.280 --> 00:03:35.960
the video same Lindsay, Same, drawing a parallel from their
57
00:03:36.000 --> 00:03:38.680
own hard days as a mom to a woman who
58
00:03:38.719 --> 00:03:40.000
strangled her three kids.
59
00:03:40.319 --> 00:03:44.520
Look indicated further on into her travels, I am completely
60
00:03:44.560 --> 00:03:47.039
overwhelmed trying to take care of the kids. I'm drowning
61
00:03:47.080 --> 00:03:50.319
every day. I feel guilty that I'm spending my family's
62
00:03:50.360 --> 00:03:52.560
money and not making any I feel like I spend
63
00:03:52.560 --> 00:03:55.560
way too much. She wrote that right, I'm tired of
64
00:03:56.000 --> 00:03:59.000
I'm terrified of Callen getting sick. He's a sick baby,
65
00:03:59.000 --> 00:04:01.159
a sick baby. Is miss He's sick now with a
66
00:04:01.199 --> 00:04:04.759
double ear infection, clearly has a belly ache. It's miserable.
67
00:04:04.800 --> 00:04:06.520
I feel like the other kids are going to get
68
00:04:06.599 --> 00:04:09.520
him sick all winter long. She wrote that right correct.
69
00:04:09.719 --> 00:04:13.599
There's also this random trend of angry women throwing ice
70
00:04:13.680 --> 00:04:18.360
into their bathtub, and the money followed. In about a week,
71
00:04:18.879 --> 00:04:22.839
strangers have poured over a million dollars into a fund
72
00:04:23.279 --> 00:04:27.600
for Clancy's family, more than twenty seven thousand donations from
73
00:04:27.600 --> 00:04:30.360
as far as way as Australia. In the UK nearly
74
00:04:30.399 --> 00:04:34.360
a million dollars in the wake of the one thing
75
00:04:34.480 --> 00:04:39.319
a mother is never supposed to do. Now, look postparton
76
00:04:39.399 --> 00:04:43.920
psychosis and depression. It's genuinely a terrifying medical condition. It
77
00:04:43.959 --> 00:04:47.680
strikes maybe one or two mothers in a thousand. The anxiety,
78
00:04:47.720 --> 00:04:50.079
the intrusive thoughts, the exhaustion, there's no.
79
00:04:50.079 --> 00:04:51.600
Bottom to it. It's a real illness.
80
00:04:52.519 --> 00:04:56.879
But they're suffering from it, and when they are, they
81
00:04:56.959 --> 00:05:01.920
don't do what Clancy did. When you're struggling with a
82
00:05:01.959 --> 00:05:05.240
sick baby, or not sleeping or long hours, you don't
83
00:05:05.360 --> 00:05:10.600
do what Clancy did. We're not talking about the sleepless
84
00:05:10.720 --> 00:05:13.199
nights or the difficulty of being a young parent.
85
00:05:14.720 --> 00:05:17.360
We're talking about postpartum depression.
86
00:05:18.399 --> 00:05:22.560
We're talking about on one side, the murder and the
87
00:05:22.600 --> 00:05:28.399
celebration of the murder, and somehow pairing it with postpartum depression,
88
00:05:28.639 --> 00:05:33.240
normalizing it as if this is some sort of rational outcome.
89
00:05:35.079 --> 00:05:39.519
There's a canyon between compassion and a coronation. You can
90
00:05:39.639 --> 00:05:42.560
grieve for a broken woman and still refuse to crown
91
00:05:42.600 --> 00:05:43.319
her a folk hero.
92
00:05:44.319 --> 00:05:45.920
Real compassion grieves quietly.
93
00:05:46.040 --> 00:05:49.160
It doesn't put on a pink shirt and cheer, and
94
00:05:49.240 --> 00:05:53.839
it doesn't caption a video of your own child.
95
00:05:54.319 --> 00:05:56.560
With the name of a woman who killed hers.
96
00:05:57.319 --> 00:06:00.199
And a whole lot of people out there, they seem
97
00:06:00.240 --> 00:06:02.519
to have lost the ability to tell those two things apart.
98
00:06:02.839 --> 00:06:05.399
Consider what's happening in this country right now, because this
99
00:06:05.560 --> 00:06:09.399
same month, in that same corner of America, the governor
100
00:06:09.399 --> 00:06:11.560
of Massachusetts sat down at a desk in front of
101
00:06:11.560 --> 00:06:15.199
a cheering room of women and signed a law wiping
102
00:06:15.199 --> 00:06:17.600
out the women on abortion, allowing it right up to
103
00:06:17.639 --> 00:06:19.600
the day of birth at a doctor's discretion.
104
00:06:19.680 --> 00:06:20.519
One doctor, that's it.
105
00:06:20.720 --> 00:06:25.279
Applause smiles for a bill about ending a baby's life.
106
00:06:25.319 --> 00:06:28.279
In nine months and now a few weeks later, a
107
00:06:28.279 --> 00:06:31.399
few states over one hundreds more applauding for a woman
108
00:06:31.519 --> 00:06:34.399
who killed her three kids they were already born.
109
00:06:35.959 --> 00:06:38.600
Now I don't believe those are two separate stories. I
110
00:06:38.600 --> 00:06:39.800
think they're the same one.
111
00:06:39.920 --> 00:06:43.240
A culture that has slowly carefully taught itself to look
112
00:06:43.439 --> 00:06:45.680
at a dead child and find a reason a clap.
113
00:06:46.279 --> 00:06:49.519
They'll tell you it's all just mental health, compassion, just
114
00:06:49.600 --> 00:06:54.879
believing women. But there's something underneath it that's colder than compassion,
115
00:06:55.480 --> 00:06:58.360
and didn't just begin in that courtroom, and it won't
116
00:06:58.439 --> 00:07:02.680
end there. Three children are dead court Dawson Klin. They'll
117
00:07:02.680 --> 00:07:06.399
never start kindergarten, or learn to drive, never hold children
118
00:07:06.439 --> 00:07:08.560
of their own. A jury is about to decide what
119
00:07:08.600 --> 00:07:11.120
their mother deserves. I can tell you what I think
120
00:07:11.160 --> 00:07:11.759
she deserves.
121
00:07:12.600 --> 00:07:13.519
But out on.
122
00:07:13.399 --> 00:07:17.480
Those court house steps, the verdict is already in. They
123
00:07:17.519 --> 00:07:20.920
showed up in pink, and they decided the woman who
124
00:07:21.000 --> 00:07:23.879
killed these children's she was the one who was wronged.
125
00:07:24.759 --> 00:07:27.639
And I promise you, heading to November, this will be
126
00:07:27.839 --> 00:07:31.959
yet another rally cry for the Democratic Socialists to divide
127
00:07:32.000 --> 00:07:35.519
women from the rest of America, another manufactured crisis that
128
00:07:35.560 --> 00:07:41.680
can be solved by a radical revolution and bigger government, and.
129
00:07:41.680 --> 00:07:45.240
I have a feeling that this is what's happening here.
130
00:07:45.759 --> 00:07:47.240
You just wait and see.
131
00:07:47.560 --> 00:07:50.720
All I know is this when you start losing respect
132
00:07:50.759 --> 00:07:54.759
for life at all stages, it's a slippery slope to
133
00:07:54.920 --> 00:07:59.600
pink shirts and demonstrations outside of an alleged murderer's courtroom.
134
00:08:00.560 --> 00:08:04.800
Still ahead, the officer convicted in George Floyd's death files
135
00:08:04.839 --> 00:08:06.120
to overturn the whole thing.
136
00:08:06.240 --> 00:08:09.079
Elon must says, set him free, and I'll walk you
137
00:08:09.120 --> 00:08:10.759
through whether he has a chance.
138
00:08:11.199 --> 00:08:14.160
Then the President's new deal to bring down beef prices
139
00:08:14.160 --> 00:08:16.759
in why America's ranchers are a little concerned about it,
140
00:08:16.879 --> 00:08:19.519
and the first Lady turned a charity for foster kids
141
00:08:19.560 --> 00:08:22.439
into a race car screaming around the National Mall this

00:09:13.360 --> 00:09:16.200
a wave of violence, death and destruction.
156
00:09:16.399 --> 00:09:19.120
BLM. What is the love? BLM?
157
00:09:19.240 --> 00:09:23.120
It has been six years since that infamous video surfaced,
158
00:09:23.600 --> 00:09:26.279
the one that appeared to show Minneapolis police officer Derek
159
00:09:26.320 --> 00:09:29.519
Chauvin kneeling on George Floyd's neck for roughly nine and
160
00:09:29.600 --> 00:09:33.240
a half minutes. April twenty twenty one, in Minnesota, jury
161
00:09:33.279 --> 00:09:36.360
convicted him of second degree murder and a judge sentenced
162
00:09:36.399 --> 00:09:39.360
him to nearly twenty two and a half years. Chauvin's
163
00:09:39.399 --> 00:09:42.799
lawyers filed a petition this week to erase his murder
164
00:09:42.840 --> 00:09:46.840
conviction entirely, to rule that the trial that put him
165
00:09:46.879 --> 00:09:49.960
away it shouldn't happen at all. The autopsy in the
166
00:09:50.000 --> 00:09:54.840
case found fentanyl and methphetamine in Floyd's system, and Chauvin's
167
00:09:54.879 --> 00:09:59.759
defense has argued for years that the drugs, not the
168
00:10:00.799 --> 00:10:02.759
are what really killed him.
169
00:10:03.000 --> 00:10:05.679
That fight never went away. His lawyers point to what
170
00:10:05.840 --> 00:10:09.320
happened at the trial itself. The judge refused to move
171
00:10:09.360 --> 00:10:11.000
it out of Minneapolis, even as the.
172
00:10:10.960 --> 00:10:14.720
City braves for riots. The middle of jury selection, the
173
00:10:14.799 --> 00:10:18.360
city announced a twenty seven million dollar settlement with Floyd's family,
174
00:10:18.559 --> 00:10:22.000
and two seated jurors were dismissed after admitting it destroyed
175
00:10:22.000 --> 00:10:25.919
their impartiality. The jury was never sequestered, so they watched
176
00:10:25.919 --> 00:10:29.759
a second police shooting and fresh unrest unfold nearby in
177
00:10:29.840 --> 00:10:33.720
the middle of the trial, and then days before the verdict,
178
00:10:33.799 --> 00:10:37.320
a sitting member of Congress went to the streets of
179
00:10:37.360 --> 00:10:40.559
Minnesota and said this. We got to stay on the
180
00:10:40.600 --> 00:10:43.639
street and we've got to get more active.
181
00:10:44.000 --> 00:10:47.360
We've got to get more confrontational. We've got to make
182
00:10:47.399 --> 00:10:49.519
sure that they think they know that.
183
00:10:49.440 --> 00:10:50.399
We need business.
184
00:10:50.960 --> 00:10:54.080
He's saying, behind that math, We're gonna get more confrontational.
185
00:10:54.600 --> 00:10:58.440
She's telling a crowd to escalate if Chovin walked. And
186
00:10:58.480 --> 00:11:01.600
this isn't just conservative crime foul. The trial judge himself,
187
00:11:01.639 --> 00:11:05.360
Peter Cahill, said from the bench that waters comments may
188
00:11:05.399 --> 00:11:08.039
have handed Chauvin the grounds to get that entire.
189
00:11:07.879 --> 00:11:09.279
Verdict overturned on appeal.
190
00:11:09.879 --> 00:11:13.440
So this week, Chauvin's attorney, Greg Joseph filed a thirty
191
00:11:13.519 --> 00:11:16.639
one page petition asking the Minnesota Court of Appeals to
192
00:11:16.679 --> 00:11:19.480
dismiss the case outright, and his argument goes deeper than
193
00:11:19.480 --> 00:11:22.960
anyone jurk. He says the charges were never lawfully brought
194
00:11:23.000 --> 00:11:25.639
in the first place, that no grand jury was ever
195
00:11:25.720 --> 00:11:30.279
convened to weigh the evidence, and that Governor Tim Walls
196
00:11:31.279 --> 00:11:35.120
improperly handed the prosecution to his own Attorney General, Keith
197
00:11:35.159 --> 00:11:38.240
Ellison to get the murder charge. The public was demanding.
198
00:11:39.000 --> 00:11:42.879
Joseph's words, the entire trial was a fraud. Now even
199
00:11:42.879 --> 00:11:46.879
Elon Musk has chimed in posting simply free Chauvin and
200
00:11:47.080 --> 00:11:50.919
calling the conviction unjust. This is Chauvin's third attempt to
201
00:11:50.919 --> 00:11:53.159
get these charges thrown out. The Supreme Court it's already
202
00:11:53.200 --> 00:11:56.879
turned him down twice, and lower courts have rejected petitions before.
203
00:11:57.399 --> 00:11:59.759
See what happens with this one. To break down what
204
00:11:59.799 --> 00:12:01.360
happens next.
205
00:12:01.120 --> 00:12:03.519
And with this newest attempt to get these charges thrown out,
206
00:12:03.639 --> 00:12:06.639
I'm honored to welcome Lieutenant Randy Sutton, founder of the
207
00:12:06.679 --> 00:12:11.480
Wounded Blue Lieutenant. I think a lot of people think
208
00:12:11.559 --> 00:12:14.200
that this was a political prosecution. A lot of people
209
00:12:14.279 --> 00:12:18.720
believe that he didn't result his actions did not result
210
00:12:18.720 --> 00:12:21.879
in the death of mister Floyd. And hopefully maybe this
211
00:12:21.919 --> 00:12:25.320
is the chance he needs to finally sort of prove
212
00:12:26.000 --> 00:12:28.159
his innocence for real, right.
213
00:12:29.320 --> 00:12:32.480
I certainly hope so, But unfortunately I have my doubts
214
00:12:32.519 --> 00:12:37.200
considering the politics involved with this. We have seen this
215
00:12:37.279 --> 00:12:41.120
play out literally since the first day that the video
216
00:12:42.120 --> 00:12:47.120
of George Floyd's arrest surfaced. I have never ever seen
217
00:12:47.679 --> 00:12:51.919
a more political prosecution of a law enforcement officer in
218
00:12:52.000 --> 00:12:57.480
my entire career. And I've seen plenty of law enforcement
219
00:12:57.519 --> 00:13:03.799
officers falsely accused, false the uh prosecuted, But this is
220
00:13:03.879 --> 00:13:06.960
the worst. This is the worst example that I have
221
00:13:07.039 --> 00:13:12.799
ever seen. Derek Chauvin did absolutely nothing wrong and uh,
222
00:13:13.000 --> 00:13:17.200
the three officers with him he were equally innocent. And
223
00:13:17.360 --> 00:13:20.720
this was a uh. This was this was the biggest
224
00:13:20.759 --> 00:13:24.600
miscarriage of justice that I've ever seen as a as
225
00:13:24.639 --> 00:13:27.039
not just as a as a law enforcement officer, but
226
00:13:27.120 --> 00:13:27.960
as a human being.
227
00:13:28.679 --> 00:13:28.960
Yeah.
228
00:13:29.080 --> 00:13:31.440
And you know, we had the big old riots, the BLM,
229
00:13:31.519 --> 00:13:35.240
the Communist organization, put all this energy into making sure
230
00:13:35.480 --> 00:13:38.080
the memory of George Floyd spread I remember his funeral.
231
00:13:38.320 --> 00:13:39.720
They were in the middle of COVID.
232
00:13:39.759 --> 00:13:42.159
Nobody can go and see the relatives dying in a hospital.
233
00:13:42.200 --> 00:13:44.600
But yet George Floyd's allowed to have a room filled
234
00:13:44.600 --> 00:13:48.559
with hundreds of people, all close together, no social distancing.
235
00:13:48.720 --> 00:13:52.399
They erected statues for him. Well, Derek Chauvin was painted
236
00:13:52.440 --> 00:13:55.759
as a murderer and now he sits in jail. And
237
00:13:56.039 --> 00:13:59.960
the reality of this is, even if he gets actual
238
00:14:00.279 --> 00:14:03.679
justice in his case, this country would be turned upside
239
00:14:03.679 --> 00:14:06.320
down again. Right, the BLM will turn back out, and
240
00:14:06.600 --> 00:14:09.759
even if he is able to walk free, he'll never
241
00:14:09.799 --> 00:14:12.279
be able to live free in this country again, based
242
00:14:12.320 --> 00:14:13.159
on what they've done to him.
243
00:14:13.200 --> 00:14:17.279
Right, his life is absolutely ruined. Remember, he was also
244
00:14:18.000 --> 00:14:21.399
almost murdered in jail as well. He was stabbed numerous times.
245
00:14:22.399 --> 00:14:26.720
Now here, The reality here is that there was there
246
00:14:26.759 --> 00:14:31.600
were so many aspects of this case that were that
247
00:14:31.759 --> 00:14:38.440
were grounds for a dismissal and and overturning that between
248
00:14:38.519 --> 00:14:45.440
the medical examiner being urged, not just urged, but being
249
00:14:45.559 --> 00:14:52.840
forced to change his medical examiners finding to the assistant
250
00:14:52.960 --> 00:14:56.799
police chief being caught on the on the stand lying
251
00:14:56.960 --> 00:15:03.559
about the training that Derek Chauvin actually received. That technique
252
00:15:04.240 --> 00:15:06.840
was of kneeling and by the way, he wasn' kneeling
253
00:15:06.919 --> 00:15:09.639
on his neck, he was kneeling on his back. This
254
00:15:09.679 --> 00:15:14.279
whole thing was was literally made up because of the
255
00:15:14.279 --> 00:15:18.600
the politics of this and Ellison Keith Ellison, I mean,
256
00:15:18.720 --> 00:15:23.120
you talk about an individual who shouldn't be prosecuting anything.
257
00:15:24.480 --> 00:15:27.279
This was for. This is literally ordered from the governor
258
00:15:27.399 --> 00:15:34.120
down to to literally silence anybody that didn't go along
259
00:15:34.200 --> 00:15:40.200
with the realities of George Floyd's death. George Floyd career criminal,
260
00:15:40.799 --> 00:15:45.679
violent individual, took all the all the fatal doses of
261
00:15:45.759 --> 00:15:49.679
drugs that he that he took, and then they people
262
00:15:50.200 --> 00:15:55.519
literally deified him. It's it's it's unbelievable now for anybody
263
00:15:55.559 --> 00:15:58.000
that it really wants to dig deep into this case.
264
00:15:59.200 --> 00:16:04.440
A journalist Liz Colin produced a film that is the
265
00:16:04.519 --> 00:16:10.799
quintessential film and authority on this. It's called The Fall
266
00:16:10.879 --> 00:16:13.519
of Minneapolis, and I urge everybody to take a look
267
00:16:13.559 --> 00:16:15.159
at it. If you want to get your blood up
268
00:16:15.559 --> 00:16:18.440
and see the true injustice of what took place, check
269
00:16:18.440 --> 00:16:22.440
out this documentary film. It will make you crazy.
270
00:16:22.440 --> 00:16:22.639
Look.
271
00:16:22.759 --> 00:16:25.480
They turned a man who was a criminal, who was
272
00:16:25.519 --> 00:16:30.799
on drugs, who was fighting with police officers into a hero,
273
00:16:30.919 --> 00:16:33.559
and they demonized a man who was out there serving
274
00:16:33.600 --> 00:16:37.120
the community, and look at all of the long term
275
00:16:37.120 --> 00:16:40.360
effects to defunding police and everything that came after. This
276
00:16:40.559 --> 00:16:44.840
was really just such a political stunt that destroyed so
277
00:16:44.919 --> 00:16:45.720
many lives.
278
00:16:45.799 --> 00:16:47.799
And look, said.
279
00:16:47.600 --> 00:16:50.919
Tim wall State, surprise, surprise, Lieutenan, you do so much
280
00:16:50.919 --> 00:16:51.320
great work.
281
00:16:51.320 --> 00:16:52.360
Thank you so much for being here.
282
00:16:52.360 --> 00:16:54.240
If people want to go and learn more about the
283
00:16:54.279 --> 00:16:55.679
Wounded Blue where would you let them go.
284
00:16:56.879 --> 00:16:58.759
Well, let me just say one other thing that this
285
00:16:58.799 --> 00:17:02.879
has had a long term effect on the emotional, mental,
286
00:17:03.039 --> 00:17:07.440
and psychological health of American law enforcement officers around this nation.
287
00:17:07.960 --> 00:17:10.319
This was a watershed moment when it came down to
288
00:17:11.640 --> 00:17:17.119
the destruction of the faith that law enforcement officers had
289
00:17:17.200 --> 00:17:19.759
in the system itself. So I urge people to go
290
00:17:19.799 --> 00:17:22.279
to the Wounded Blue dot org. That's the Wounded Blue
291
00:17:22.319 --> 00:17:24.920
dot Org. See who we are, see what we do.
292
00:17:25.160 --> 00:17:28.160
If you're a law enforcement officer and you're struggling, remember
293
00:17:28.200 --> 00:17:31.000
our motto, never forgotten, never alone. We're here for you.
294
00:17:31.480 --> 00:17:33.160
Lieutenant. Thank you so much for being here, and thank
295
00:17:33.200 --> 00:17:34.319
you for all the work you do.
296
00:17:35.400 --> 00:17:36.960
Thank you.
297
00:17:37.039 --> 00:17:41.519
Coming up, Beef just hit a record seven dollars a pound.
298
00:17:42.000 --> 00:17:44.319
But the President he's got a plan.
299
00:17:44.759 --> 00:17:47.640
We're going to talk to a ranger about what that
300
00:17:47.759 --> 00:17:50.960
means for farmers and whether the short term solution has
301
00:17:51.000 --> 00:17:53.720
any long term impacts for the beef industry.
302
00:17:53.799 --> 00:18:00.680

Beef in this country? Though it just hit a.

Record nearly seven dollars a pounds, so it's more expensive
340

to make that burger. It's someone with sixty percent from

where it sat five years ago. And this morning President
342
00:19:55.640 --> 00:19:58.000
Trump announced a deal. He says he's going to bring
343
00:19:58.160 --> 00:20:01.119
that number down. That's right, your burgers are going to
344
00:20:01.160 --> 00:20:03.319
get cheaper. You don't have to resort to be in
345
00:20:03.319 --> 00:20:07.480
a Hamburgler anymore. Now here's how it's gonna work. For
346
00:20:07.640 --> 00:20:10.839
the next ninety days, the United States will let up
347
00:20:10.880 --> 00:20:14.920
to three hundred thousand metric tons of ground beef. I
348
00:20:14.960 --> 00:20:18.440
didn't realize we measured ground beef and metric tons. But
349
00:20:18.519 --> 00:20:21.279
it's coming into the country without the tariff that normally
350
00:20:21.359 --> 00:20:24.319
kicked in above a set limit, a tariff that can
351
00:20:24.400 --> 00:20:25.799
run north of twenty five percent.
352
00:20:26.039 --> 00:20:28.079
When Trump says he secured.
353
00:20:27.599 --> 00:20:31.119
A commitment that this imported beef gets sold to you
354
00:20:31.240 --> 00:20:35.440
at a twenty five percent discount underneath market rates and
355
00:20:35.519 --> 00:20:37.680
his words, he says, today I concluded a deal to
356
00:20:37.720 --> 00:20:41.400
substantially lower the price of ground beef for working American families.
357
00:20:41.720 --> 00:20:44.839
What important note for the record, President didn't say which
358
00:20:44.880 --> 00:20:46.680
countries the beef is coming from.
359
00:20:46.680 --> 00:20:50.799
Who exactly made that pricing commitment, or how it gets enforced.
360
00:20:50.839 --> 00:20:53.480
Once it hits a grocery store, a formal order is
361
00:20:53.519 --> 00:20:54.920
coming to put it in motion.
362
00:20:55.079 --> 00:21:00.400
So why is beef this expensive to begin with? It
363
00:21:00.480 --> 00:21:01.359
comes down to cattle.
364
00:21:01.880 --> 00:21:05.279
American beef herd is the smollets. It has been since
365
00:21:05.319 --> 00:21:09.640
the nineteen fifties, years of drought, punishing feed costs and
366
00:21:09.720 --> 00:21:13.440
ranchers thinning their herds, trying to supply while demand stayed strong.
367
00:21:13.480 --> 00:21:15.559
They'll forget that screwworm scare two.
368
00:21:16.359 --> 00:21:19.720
Now, look, the cows have the same appetite, higher prices
369
00:21:20.119 --> 00:21:21.119
and rebuilding a herd.
370
00:21:21.200 --> 00:21:22.000
It's not something you.
371
00:21:21.960 --> 00:21:25.039
Can just do very quickly fix years. And here's the
372
00:21:25.079 --> 00:21:28.559
benefit to American people with this deal. It's simple, it's immediate,
373
00:21:28.599 --> 00:21:31.960
it's cheaper beef, and right now, for families getting hammered
374
00:21:31.960 --> 00:21:34.640
it to check out, they can use some cheaper prices now.
375
00:21:34.680 --> 00:21:36.680
It's temporary, just ninety days, built as.
376
00:21:36.599 --> 00:21:40.559
A bridge to carry consumers through while American ranchers slowly rebuild,
377
00:21:40.599 --> 00:21:45.039
and it pumps supply into a genuine shortage. And politically,
378
00:21:45.359 --> 00:21:47.880
it aimed straight at the number one issue on voters'
379
00:21:47.920 --> 00:21:51.759
minds heading into November, affordability, the cost of groceries, the
380
00:21:51.799 --> 00:21:54.759
cost of meat. If it works the way it's advertised,
381
00:21:54.759 --> 00:21:57.039
a family paying seven dollars a pound could be playing
382
00:21:57.079 --> 00:21:57.799
closer to five.
383
00:21:57.839 --> 00:21:58.599
It's a big deal.
384
00:21:59.000 --> 00:22:01.960
But not everyone's in favor of this move. The National
385
00:22:02.240 --> 00:22:06.240
Cattleman's Beef Association, they came out against the deal, arguing
386
00:22:06.359 --> 00:22:09.440
it does nothing to accomplish Trump's own stated goal of
387
00:22:09.480 --> 00:22:12.640
growing the American herd. Their logic, flood the market with
388
00:22:12.720 --> 00:22:15.400
cheap foreign beef and you push prices down on the
389
00:22:15.440 --> 00:22:18.440
same ranchers you're asking to expand, which gives them less
390
00:22:18.440 --> 00:22:22.160
reason to expand, not more. Cattleman's groups have fought foreign
391
00:22:22.240 --> 00:22:24.839
beef imports for years, and when Trump floated this very
392
00:22:24.880 --> 00:22:27.640
idea back in May, he pulled it after ranchers and
393
00:22:27.720 --> 00:22:31.480
members of Congress pushed hard. Now, some Republicans run easy
394
00:22:31.519 --> 00:22:34.680
about it tonight, and there's an open question hanging over
395
00:22:34.720 --> 00:22:37.599
the whole thing, with no country's name and no enforcement
396
00:22:37.640 --> 00:22:40.759
spelled out, will shoppers actually see that twenty five percent
397
00:22:40.799 --> 00:22:43.720
benefit or does get absorbed somewhere between the border and
398
00:22:43.759 --> 00:22:46.359
the meat case. So that's the trade off relief for
399
00:22:46.400 --> 00:22:49.559
the family buying dinner tonight. And also could it be
400
00:22:49.599 --> 00:22:51.759
a blow to the American rancher trying to stay in
401
00:22:51.799 --> 00:22:55.680
business a promised discount that for the moment comes without
402
00:22:55.759 --> 00:22:58.599
much fine print. Now, my next guest lives on the
403
00:22:58.680 --> 00:23:01.160
ranching side of the equation, running for state wide office
404
00:23:01.160 --> 00:23:03.759
and the biggest cattle state in the country. I mean,
405
00:23:03.759 --> 00:23:07.960
now both French rancher GOP nominee for Texas Railroad Commissioner bo.
406
00:23:08.039 --> 00:23:10.640
Welcome to David Pollock Prime Time. I don't know how
407
00:23:10.680 --> 00:23:13.359
to feel about this. I mean, I love hamburgers and
408
00:23:13.440 --> 00:23:16.960
the price of beef is a little disturbing. Ground beef
409
00:23:17.000 --> 00:23:19.160
not so much as steak. Steaks are very expensive. Ground beef,
410
00:23:19.200 --> 00:23:21.240
you can still find a deal, but we don't want
411
00:23:21.279 --> 00:23:22.839
to put our farmers out of business and compete with
412
00:23:22.880 --> 00:23:23.880
them with cheap foreign meat.
413
00:23:23.960 --> 00:23:26.240
So I don't know what to think about this. I'm
414
00:23:26.240 --> 00:23:27.440
looking for your take on this one.
415
00:23:28.480 --> 00:23:30.920
Yeah, listen, I think President Trump is rightly focused on
416
00:23:31.000 --> 00:23:34.400
how he can make affordability better for the November election.
417
00:23:35.000 --> 00:23:38.359
That's front and center on everybody's mind. So I think
418
00:23:38.359 --> 00:23:41.039
as hard as in the right place, I tend to
419
00:23:41.519 --> 00:23:43.359
if I had been in the room when this discussion
420
00:23:43.400 --> 00:23:44.880
came up, I think I would have been on the
421
00:23:44.920 --> 00:23:48.319
side of advising him not to do this, just because
422
00:23:48.359 --> 00:23:52.240
I think, you know, government interference in our markets is
423
00:23:52.319 --> 00:23:56.079
really never a good thing, and you know it is temporary.
424
00:23:56.160 --> 00:23:58.519
So maybe this will give us an opportunity to get
425
00:23:58.559 --> 00:24:01.839
through this election and and reset after that. But you're right,
426
00:24:01.880 --> 00:24:05.200
as a rancher, you know, we we have our costs
427
00:24:05.200 --> 00:24:08.839
on everything have gone way up, especially here in big
428
00:24:08.880 --> 00:24:11.720
parts of Texas. We've had, you know, years and years
429
00:24:11.880 --> 00:24:15.039
of drought, meaning we can't carry as many cattle on
430
00:24:15.119 --> 00:24:17.279
the on the ranch as we used to be able to,
431
00:24:17.839 --> 00:24:20.440
and so that really has more to do with why
432
00:24:20.920 --> 00:24:23.720
you know, our herd is lower numbers than it used
433
00:24:23.759 --> 00:24:27.559
to be, and I think that applies nationally. But you know, listen,
434
00:24:27.599 --> 00:24:31.200
when when the government interferes and and uh, you know,
435
00:24:31.559 --> 00:24:36.039
makes decisions like this, oftentimes that it has consequences that
436
00:24:36.079 --> 00:24:39.119
are unforeseen. And you know, my hope is is that
437
00:24:39.200 --> 00:24:41.720
we can actually rely on the markets to work efficiently,
438
00:24:42.240 --> 00:24:44.440
and and they were in the process of doing that.
439
00:24:44.559 --> 00:24:48.160
Of course, you know, ranchers are trying to rebuild their herds.
440
00:24:48.319 --> 00:24:50.880
They're incentivized to do so with you know, with with
441
00:24:51.000 --> 00:24:54.279
free market capitalism, and uh, yeah, that that's the that's
442
00:24:54.319 --> 00:24:57.240
the position I would prefer to see. But again, this
443
00:24:57.319 --> 00:24:59.680
is temporary, so hopefully it's it's not going to make
444
00:24:59.720 --> 00:25:02.640
a huge difference on the ranchers long term.
445
00:25:03.079 --> 00:25:05.759
Yeah, I mean, look, I'm all for finding an approach
446
00:25:06.119 --> 00:25:10.160
to make beef more affordable for Americans. Americans love their beef,
447
00:25:10.400 --> 00:25:13.000
but it has been expensive. I mean at the price
448
00:25:13.039 --> 00:25:15.640
even at places like at big box stores, stakes are
449
00:25:15.680 --> 00:25:17.599
still very high. And I know ranchers are doing everything
450
00:25:17.599 --> 00:25:19.240
they can to get as much beef to the market
451
00:25:19.279 --> 00:25:22.240
as possible, but like you mentioned, it's not easy to
452
00:25:22.880 --> 00:25:25.240
really just increase the numbers of herds.
453
00:25:25.240 --> 00:25:25.400
Now.
454
00:25:25.400 --> 00:25:29.720
Are there other possible solutions to get the prices of
455
00:25:29.799 --> 00:25:32.440
beef down? Is there regulations that can be cut, is
456
00:25:32.480 --> 00:25:35.559
their incentives that they can provide, or is just are
457
00:25:35.559 --> 00:25:37.559
we sort of in a tough spot right now until
458
00:25:37.559 --> 00:25:38.279
the herds regrow.
459
00:25:39.079 --> 00:25:42.079
I mean, look, the prices of everything are much higher
460
00:25:42.400 --> 00:25:45.599
in the last few years because our government has printed
461
00:25:46.079 --> 00:25:50.720
so much money, injected more money into the supply, spent
462
00:25:50.799 --> 00:25:53.079
more money than they ever have, and all these things
463
00:25:53.079 --> 00:25:55.799
have just created massive inflation. And then you couple that
464
00:25:55.920 --> 00:26:00.400
with just the years of costs on agriculture and is
465
00:26:00.440 --> 00:26:03.720
going up with you know, equipment and insurance and labor,
466
00:26:03.799 --> 00:26:06.039
all of those costs have gone way up. And so
467
00:26:06.319 --> 00:26:09.519
you know, a ranch is a business, so they have
468
00:26:09.599 --> 00:26:14.200
to set pricing that allows them to make a profit,
469
00:26:14.359 --> 00:26:18.960
and you know, the market should determine that, but it's
470
00:26:19.039 --> 00:26:21.559
really been increasingly difficult. You know, I think something like
471
00:26:21.680 --> 00:26:26.079
ninety percent of ranches are not profitable, and it's just
472
00:26:26.279 --> 00:26:28.880
mainly because the cost of everything has gone up and
473
00:26:28.920 --> 00:26:31.599
the cost to reduce the beef has just gone way up,
474
00:26:32.039 --> 00:26:36.319
and so you know, I think that reducing the requirements
475
00:26:36.319 --> 00:26:42.720
on ranchers, reducing regulations, having free market forces, you know,
476
00:26:43.480 --> 00:26:46.880
really determine what pricing is. I think that's really the
477
00:26:46.920 --> 00:26:47.519
best way to go.
478
00:26:48.079 --> 00:26:50.440
Yeah, And I'm sure, I mean, we haven't seen, you know,
479
00:26:50.519 --> 00:26:52.759
the whole deal, and we don't know what the order
480
00:26:52.799 --> 00:26:55.640
actually looks like. I'm sure this president is not going
481
00:26:55.720 --> 00:27:00.880
to not consider the needs of the American ranchers. And
482
00:27:01.119 --> 00:27:03.279
maybe when this deal comes out, there's some incentives for
483
00:27:03.400 --> 00:27:06.680
American ranchers to increasesize their herds, and maybe there are
484
00:27:06.720 --> 00:27:09.359
some tax incentives and deregulation that that's going to be
485
00:27:09.400 --> 00:27:11.400
part of this deal as well. Because look, we need
486
00:27:11.400 --> 00:27:15.119
to get America farming again and ranching again, and we
487
00:27:15.160 --> 00:27:17.559
need these farmlands not to dry up and get bought
488
00:27:17.599 --> 00:27:19.599
up by China so they can build multi family homes
489
00:27:19.599 --> 00:27:21.000
on it and starve us of our own ability to
490
00:27:21.000 --> 00:27:23.640
produce food. I mean, we need to bring back American
491
00:27:23.720 --> 00:27:26.759
ranching and American food production, and I know that there's
492
00:27:26.759 --> 00:27:28.519
a way to do it, and I think this present
493
00:27:28.559 --> 00:27:31.359
is probably more focused on that to other people where
494
00:27:31.359 --> 00:27:35.359
how long do you think the beef prices will remain high?
495
00:27:35.480 --> 00:27:37.799
Is there something on the horizon.
496
00:27:37.920 --> 00:27:39.720
I mean, are the herd numbers coming back, or we
497
00:27:39.720 --> 00:27:41.599
maybe like a year or two out from be able
498
00:27:41.640 --> 00:27:44.519
to get ten dollars a pound you know New York
499
00:27:44.559 --> 00:27:47.000
strip at the grocery store, or those days gone.
500
00:27:47.319 --> 00:27:48.880
Now, I don't think you're ever going to see that again.
501
00:27:49.480 --> 00:27:53.200
Like I said, inflation has while we have reduced the
502
00:27:53.279 --> 00:27:56.440
rate of inflation, the prices don't ever actually go down.
503
00:27:56.480 --> 00:27:58.799
It's just the rate of inflation has gone down. And
504
00:27:58.880 --> 00:28:00.839
so you know, we are in a new norm. I think.
505
00:28:01.720 --> 00:28:04.319
But again, if if we can just reduce the actual
506
00:28:04.440 --> 00:28:07.880
costs on ranchers, that all the other costs, like I said, insurance, labor,
507
00:28:07.920 --> 00:28:10.799
things like that, that that is how we can make
508
00:28:10.839 --> 00:28:14.200
it where ranchers are incentivized to stay in business. Of course,
509
00:28:14.240 --> 00:28:17.920
we need rain often and at the right time to
510
00:28:18.480 --> 00:28:20.880
grow what we need to grow so that the cattle
511
00:28:20.880 --> 00:28:24.519
can harvest the natural range that they consume. And so
512
00:28:25.240 --> 00:28:28.559
you know, for those reasons, there's just not a lot
513
00:28:28.680 --> 00:28:31.119
we can do. Now we can as a government. The
514
00:28:31.160 --> 00:28:34.680
government can certainly interfere in ways that disrupt the markets.
515
00:28:35.240 --> 00:28:37.440
And I think that's what the fear is here is
516
00:28:37.440 --> 00:28:39.079
is this really going to be a disruption that is
517
00:28:39.200 --> 00:28:42.680
ultimately harmful for the market. My hope is is that
518
00:28:42.799 --> 00:28:45.519
long term it is not, but you know that remains
519
00:28:45.519 --> 00:28:45.960
to be seen.
520
00:28:46.480 --> 00:28:48.240
Now, both people want to come and learn more about
521
00:28:48.240 --> 00:28:51.720
your campaign. Help you out in Texas because we're trying to.
522
00:28:51.720 --> 00:28:53.079
Keep the a red state.
523
00:28:53.160 --> 00:28:56.319
With tall Rico running around and trying to stir up
524
00:28:56.359 --> 00:28:59.880
some comrades for his socialist revolution, where can they go
525
00:28:59.880 --> 00:29:00.640
to help you out?
526
00:29:01.200 --> 00:29:03.480
Yeah, well, remember I'm running for the Texas Railroad Commission,
527
00:29:03.519 --> 00:29:06.000
which has nothing to do with agriculture or railroads. It's
528
00:29:06.000 --> 00:29:08.759
the regulator for the oil and gas industry, which also
529
00:29:09.160 --> 00:29:12.839
you know, affects everything every cost you pay your price
530
00:29:12.880 --> 00:29:14.759
at the pump. But it's both French dot com and
531
00:29:14.799 --> 00:29:16.279
at both French on X.
532
00:29:16.599 --> 00:29:18.240
We wish you the best luck and could look to you.
533
00:29:18.319 --> 00:29:20.400
We're big supporter Zevy and we appreciate you coming on
534
00:29:20.440 --> 00:29:20.720
the show.
535
00:29:21.279 --> 00:29:22.000
Thank you so much.
536
00:29:22.039 --> 00:29:22.359
Thank you.
537
00:29:23.200 --> 00:29:27.359
When we come back, Milania Trump takes her Foster Care
538
00:29:27.400 --> 00:29:30.799
of mission to the fastest cars in the country and
539
00:29:30.880 --> 00:29:34.400
one of the sharpest minds in marketing breaks down how
540
00:29:34.440 --> 00:29:37.480
it's gonna work and later it's fired up. Friday, South
541
00:29:37.480 --> 00:29:40.200
Carolina picks a new United States Senator in a few days,
542
00:29:40.640 --> 00:29:43.319
and it's a brawl between two candidates.
543
00:29:43.759 --> 00:29:45.960
Chad Kton is getting a little bit fired up about
544
00:29:46.000 --> 00:29:47.640
one of them. That's coming up tonight.
545
00:29:55.319 --> 00:29:57.160

555
00:30:33.079 --> 00:30:37.599
Yesterday in the Rose Garden, Milania Trump did something you rarely.
556
00:30:37.279 --> 00:30:38.240
See in Washington.
557
00:30:38.759 --> 00:30:41.119
She took a charity for foster kids and turned it
558
00:30:41.200 --> 00:30:42.400
into a race car.
559
00:30:42.759 --> 00:30:44.160
And this Sunday, that.
560
00:30:44.160 --> 00:30:47.160
Car and that cause will take a lap in front
561
00:30:47.160 --> 00:30:49.839
of the entire country. Let's talk about the cause itself.
562
00:30:50.359 --> 00:30:53.960
Milania first launched the Be Best program in twenty eighteen.
563
00:30:54.000 --> 00:30:58.279
Her signature platform focused broadly on the well being of children,
564
00:30:58.440 --> 00:31:01.319
their health, their safety on line, the damage.
565
00:31:00.880 --> 00:31:03.920
To opioid epetic does to kids. That's the umbrella.
566
00:31:04.079 --> 00:31:07.880
Everything she does as First Lady lives under Being Best.
567
00:31:08.319 --> 00:31:10.480
In twenty twenty one, she built a program underneath that
568
00:31:10.599 --> 00:31:14.640
umbrella aimed squarely at the group, the children stuck in
569
00:31:14.720 --> 00:31:18.319
the foster care system. That program called Fostering the Future.
570
00:31:18.359 --> 00:31:21.599
So when you hear both names this weekend, that's the relationship.
571
00:31:21.640 --> 00:31:25.039
Be Best, that's the platform. Fostering the Future, well, that's
572
00:31:25.240 --> 00:31:26.559
helping foster care students.
573
00:31:26.559 --> 00:31:28.920
And this week Fostering the Future landed a two.
574
00:31:28.759 --> 00:31:32.640
Million dollar boost, a million dollars from Fox Corp. A
575
00:31:32.759 --> 00:31:36.799
million from andycar to fund college scholarships for young people
576
00:31:36.799 --> 00:31:38.960
aging out of the foster care system. It creates new
577
00:31:39.000 --> 00:31:43.000
scholarships at Indiana University and Purdue and brings her national
578
00:31:43.039 --> 00:31:46.079
network to twenty six colleges and universities.
579
00:31:46.200 --> 00:31:49.559
The whole point is the kids. Almost nobody fights for.
580
00:31:49.640 --> 00:31:52.680
The ones who turn eighteen and in the system have
581
00:31:52.799 --> 00:31:56.240
nowhere to go overnight, no family, no safety net, nowhere
582
00:31:56.240 --> 00:32:00.319
to go. This gives them a real shot at a degree.
583
00:32:00.759 --> 00:32:02.680
And sitting right there in the rose guard next to
584
00:32:02.720 --> 00:32:06.319
the First Lady was an actual Indie car wrapped in red, white.
585
00:32:06.119 --> 00:32:10.440
And blue carrying the be Best logo beautiful and powerful.
586
00:32:10.720 --> 00:32:14.279
That car is where the marketing turns genuinely clever, because
587
00:32:14.319 --> 00:32:19.160
this weekend, Washington, DC hosts the Freedom to fifty Grand Prix,
588
00:32:19.200 --> 00:32:22.319
the first auto race in history run on the National
589
00:32:22.359 --> 00:32:25.799
Mall stage to celebrate America's two hundred and fiftieth birthday,
590
00:32:25.960 --> 00:32:29.680
and every single car in that race carries that same.
591
00:32:29.799 --> 00:32:32.240
Specially designed be Best logo.
592
00:32:32.319 --> 00:32:34.920
So no matter who takes a check or flag on Sunday,
593
00:32:35.119 --> 00:32:38.839
whoever wins, crosses that finish line carrying Milania's.
594
00:32:38.279 --> 00:32:40.160
Message about foster children.
595
00:32:40.279 --> 00:32:43.480
The logo is painted right onto the track on the
596
00:32:43.519 --> 00:32:46.279
over past at Seventh Street, and the whole race airs
597
00:32:46.359 --> 00:32:50.079
nationally on Fox and FS one all weekend long. A
598
00:32:50.119 --> 00:32:53.000
cause that normally gets zero airtime is about to be
599
00:32:53.039 --> 00:32:56.119
seen by millions of people watching race cars screen past
600
00:32:56.160 --> 00:33:00.319
the Washington Monument. Joining me now, Mark Beckman, CEO of
601
00:33:00.440 --> 00:33:05.079
DMA United and senior advisor to First Lady Milania Trump.
602
00:33:05.480 --> 00:33:06.680
What an exciting.
603
00:33:06.279 --> 00:33:09.599
Weekend coming up, and what an interesting way to promote
604
00:33:09.640 --> 00:33:12.559
fostering the future, which is an amazing program part of
605
00:33:12.559 --> 00:33:16.680
this amazing be Best operation where the First Lady is
606
00:33:16.680 --> 00:33:18.359
really trying to give back to the youth of American
607
00:33:18.440 --> 00:33:19.400
doing an amazing.
608
00:33:19.079 --> 00:33:23.119
Job at it. Talk about how big this is to have.
609
00:33:23.440 --> 00:33:25.319
Not only the event in the Rose Guard but fostering
610
00:33:25.359 --> 00:33:29.400
the future all over this amazing IndyCar race that's happening
611
00:33:29.400 --> 00:33:30.839
for the first time in Washington, DC.
612
00:33:33.319 --> 00:33:36.359
The First Lady has truly put together a one of
613
00:33:36.400 --> 00:33:41.359
a kind marketing vertical. There's no doubt that no first
614
00:33:41.440 --> 00:33:44.640
Lady in history has ever done anything like this. Let's
615
00:33:44.720 --> 00:33:46.480
start with the Rose Guarden event.
616
00:33:46.839 --> 00:33:47.799
We had a.
617
00:33:47.799 --> 00:33:52.720
Fostering the Future be Best branded Indiecar, that cherry red
618
00:33:52.960 --> 00:33:56.079
iconic car coupled with a limited edition, one of a
619
00:33:56.200 --> 00:34:00.200
kind Milania be Best helmet designed by the champ and
620
00:34:00.319 --> 00:34:03.799
drivers from Indy Car. That car, by the way, was
621
00:34:04.039 --> 00:34:07.720
brought into the Rose Garden via a crane. It's the
622
00:34:07.759 --> 00:34:12.119
most incredible thing that they did. Now, what's important, of course,
623
00:34:12.199 --> 00:34:14.880
the most important part of this is that IndyCar and
624
00:34:15.000 --> 00:34:20.079
Fox are contributing two million dollars to fund scholarships for
625
00:34:20.159 --> 00:34:25.199
America's foster care children at Indiana University and Purdue University,
626
00:34:25.320 --> 00:34:28.559
all tied together at the vision and expertise of First
627
00:34:28.639 --> 00:34:29.760
Lady Milania Trump.
628
00:34:30.039 --> 00:34:30.920
But that's not it.
629
00:34:31.079 --> 00:34:35.000
As you mentioned, this program is extending over the entire weekend.
630
00:34:35.480 --> 00:34:38.519
So what they've done is Indy Car has agreed to
631
00:34:38.559 --> 00:34:41.800
have a be Best Fostering the Future sticker on every
632
00:34:41.840 --> 00:34:45.199
single car in the race this weekend, as well as
633
00:34:45.320 --> 00:34:49.639
on overhead passes bridgeways that the cars will zoom under
634
00:34:50.000 --> 00:34:53.639
as they're racing around our nation's capital for the Grand Prix.
635
00:34:53.880 --> 00:34:56.639
So this has never been done before. It's the first
636
00:34:56.639 --> 00:34:59.360
time a First Lady is doing anything of this nature.
637
00:34:59.400 --> 00:35:01.840
Once again, we have to give our first Lady credit.
638
00:35:01.920 --> 00:35:05.559
She's definitely an innovator when it comes to marketing and
639
00:35:05.840 --> 00:35:09.639
we're raising money, we're helping people in the process, two
640
00:35:09.679 --> 00:35:14.400
million dollars for scholarships at Indiana and Purdue University.
641
00:35:14.320 --> 00:35:16.159
And that is such an important thing.
642
00:35:16.159 --> 00:35:20.639
And we've spoken about this is really providing this place
643
00:35:20.719 --> 00:35:23.880
for foster youths to go when they age out of
644
00:35:23.920 --> 00:35:26.639
the system, and this first Lady, rather than let them
645
00:35:26.679 --> 00:35:30.800
go and just bend for themselves, she's providing a bridge
646
00:35:30.840 --> 00:35:33.159
to really having a much better life. And she's doing
647
00:35:33.199 --> 00:35:36.559
it in the classiest way possible. But I mean the
648
00:35:36.599 --> 00:35:39.679
beauty of it, the way you put it together, it's
649
00:35:39.719 --> 00:35:43.000
so American and it's so cool talk about how important
650
00:35:43.000 --> 00:35:46.519
it is to provide this bridge for foster students that
651
00:35:46.559 --> 00:35:48.920
get this education so they can be successful, so they
652
00:35:48.920 --> 00:35:49.519
can be best.
653
00:35:51.719 --> 00:35:56.559
It's really important. Unfortunately, only three percent of individuals who
654
00:35:56.639 --> 00:36:00.000
reach the age of majority in America who are from
655
00:36:00.079 --> 00:36:03.199
foster care, so just three percent of these individuals go
656
00:36:03.280 --> 00:36:05.320
on and graduate college or university.
657
00:36:05.679 --> 00:36:06.440
Three percent.
658
00:36:06.719 --> 00:36:09.760
So as a result, many of them end up homeless,
659
00:36:10.079 --> 00:36:13.039
mixed up in drugs, in crime and beyond. So what
660
00:36:13.079 --> 00:36:14.920
the First Lady is doing is she's trying to take
661
00:36:15.199 --> 00:36:19.199
that ninety seven percent gap and get everybody educated, give
662
00:36:19.239 --> 00:36:23.480
them a foundation of knowledge so that they could secure
663
00:36:23.760 --> 00:36:27.239
an entry level job and then from there go on
664
00:36:27.320 --> 00:36:30.480
and have financial independence. This will take them off of
665
00:36:30.519 --> 00:36:33.760
the streets and perhaps create the next Steve Jobs, the
666
00:36:33.800 --> 00:36:37.519
next Elon Musk, the next President, the next First Lady
667
00:36:37.880 --> 00:36:39.639
of the United States of America.
668
00:36:39.800 --> 00:36:40.679
We'll give back to.
669
00:36:40.679 --> 00:36:45.639
America's communities, will remove children off of the financial aid
670
00:36:45.719 --> 00:36:49.920
of the government and create autonomy within our nation. And
671
00:36:49.960 --> 00:36:52.440
that's what Fostering in the Future is all about.
672
00:36:52.599 --> 00:36:54.239
Yeah, it's an amazing program.
673
00:36:54.280 --> 00:36:55.880
And the funny thing was that I love how she
674
00:36:55.920 --> 00:36:58.599
came out at the Rose Card and she's like, oh.
675
00:36:58.440 --> 00:36:59.440
You were wondering where I was.
676
00:37:00.079 --> 00:37:03.599
She's planning this amazing event which I can't even imagine.
677
00:37:03.760 --> 00:37:06.760
If you've seen you've seen your wonderful movie about Milania.
678
00:37:06.880 --> 00:37:09.440
When you see how much detail and how much thought
679
00:37:09.760 --> 00:37:12.480
she puts into everything she does, about the way it looks,
680
00:37:12.480 --> 00:37:14.599
the way it appears, making sure it's perfect, you can
681
00:37:14.719 --> 00:37:18.039
imagine how busy she has been trying to make sure
682
00:37:18.119 --> 00:37:21.880
this event is exactly what she envisions that it's going
683
00:37:21.920 --> 00:37:23.719
to be, and it's already turning out spectacularly.
684
00:37:23.840 --> 00:37:27.599
I can imagine. It's a lot of work, right, I'll.
685
00:37:27.400 --> 00:37:29.760
Tell I mean, thanks for asking. It's two months of
686
00:37:29.880 --> 00:37:32.679
work behind the scenes. She came up with the idea,
687
00:37:33.000 --> 00:37:37.599
we contacted mister Penske over at IndyCar and we architected
688
00:37:37.639 --> 00:37:41.400
the entire thing, every single detail that you see the
689
00:37:41.440 --> 00:37:43.800
first lady's involved in. Now keep in mind, this isn't
690
00:37:43.800 --> 00:37:46.679
the only thing she's doing. We just also had our
691
00:37:46.800 --> 00:37:51.039
sixth reunification of Ukrainian and Russian children with their families
692
00:37:51.239 --> 00:37:54.599
a few days earlier on Monday. While she's planning forward
693
00:37:54.639 --> 00:37:59.960
for the nation, the upcoming China State visit United Nations
694
00:38:00.119 --> 00:38:03.000
General Assembly, two events, and a lot more that's going
695
00:38:03.079 --> 00:38:06.000
to be happening throughout the fall and into the winter.
696
00:38:06.480 --> 00:38:09.880
So people look for optics how many appearances, which I
697
00:38:09.880 --> 00:38:13.440
think is really shallow. If the people in your audience,
698
00:38:13.440 --> 00:38:16.320
the people in oan really want to think about it,
699
00:38:16.480 --> 00:38:19.679
what they should think about is results, not optics. This
700
00:38:19.760 --> 00:38:22.719
First Lady is results oriented. We're seeing it with two
701
00:38:22.800 --> 00:38:28.280
pieces of legislation, an executive order, a network of schools
702
00:38:28.320 --> 00:38:32.920
for fostering the future that includes twenty six great universities.
703
00:38:32.960 --> 00:38:36.159
Now the fostering of the future accounts the fostering in
704
00:38:36.159 --> 00:38:39.239
the future together global coalition of Nations. I mean, I
705
00:38:39.239 --> 00:38:41.239
could see here, David and go on and on and on.
706
00:38:41.440 --> 00:38:45.079
What this woman is doing is impacting lives both domestically
707
00:38:45.119 --> 00:38:47.159
and internationally for the better.
708
00:38:48.159 --> 00:38:50.239
She's an amazing First Lady, and it's such a shame
709
00:38:50.480 --> 00:38:52.840
that the press doesn't cover her fairly. If they did,
710
00:38:53.280 --> 00:38:56.079
this country would realize how blessed we are to have her.
711
00:38:56.559 --> 00:38:57.800
And the reunification alone.
712
00:38:57.800 --> 00:38:59.800
We're going to talk next week about the reunification because
713
00:38:59.800 --> 00:39:02.320
that's story in of itself that's worthy of a segment,
714
00:39:02.360 --> 00:39:04.679
because it's worthy of a whole hour because of what
715
00:39:04.760 --> 00:39:07.400
the impact she's making on so many families who have
716
00:39:07.559 --> 00:39:09.639
been affected by Warren. And so I look forward to
717
00:39:09.679 --> 00:39:12.639
talking to you next week about that. But man, congratulations
718
00:39:12.639 --> 00:39:15.320
on a wonderful event. It's going to be an amazing weekend.
719
00:39:15.480 --> 00:39:17.440
And congratulations to the first lady for pulling it off
720
00:39:17.480 --> 00:39:19.239
in such a beautiful and spectacular manner.
721
00:39:21.199 --> 00:39:22.039
Thank you so much.
722
00:39:22.039 --> 00:39:24.800
And you know that the winner will have a be
723
00:39:24.920 --> 00:39:27.639
best Foster in the Future sticker on it.
724
00:39:27.920 --> 00:39:28.960
Amazing, amazing.
725
00:39:28.960 --> 00:39:30.599
Well, you know, the real winners are the people who
726
00:39:30.599 --> 00:39:32.239
are going to benefit from fostering the future.
727
00:39:32.320 --> 00:39:33.920
But the winner of that race is going to have
728
00:39:34.079 --> 00:39:35.800
a fantastic sticker to go along with it.
729
00:39:35.920 --> 00:39:38.920
Mark Beckman, always a matter what it's branded, that's right,
730
00:39:39.960 --> 00:39:43.159
Mark's It's always a pleasure having you on and look
731
00:39:43.159 --> 00:39:46.199
forward to talking to you next week about the reunification.
732
00:39:46.280 --> 00:39:51.519
What a cool story that's going to be. Likewise still
733
00:39:51.519 --> 00:39:51.880
to come.
734
00:39:52.360 --> 00:39:55.239
It's fired up Friday, a Senate runoff down to the
735
00:39:55.239 --> 00:39:58.840
wire in South Carolina and the Conservative movement, well they're
736
00:39:58.880 --> 00:40:02.000
split right down the middle. Chad Katon's fired up about
737
00:40:02.039 --> 00:40:03.360
the choices in South Carolina.
738
00:40:03.360 --> 00:40:05.599
And we have more on that when we return don't
739
00:40:05.599 --> 00:40:06.119
go anywhere.

769
00:41:49.760 --> 00:41:52.800
Next Tuesday, Republicans in South Carolina head back to the
770
00:41:52.840 --> 00:41:55.840
polls to finish a job that started with tragedy. They're
771
00:41:55.880 --> 00:41:59.000
choosing who will fill the United States Senate seat left
772
00:41:59.039 --> 00:42:02.239
empty by the sun death of Lindsay Graham and has
773
00:42:02.280 --> 00:42:04.519
turned into one of the most closely watched runoffs in
774
00:42:04.559 --> 00:42:08.039
the country. Lindsay Graham died unexpectedly on June eleventh. He
775
00:42:08.079 --> 00:42:10.960
had already won his primary for re election, so as
776
00:42:11.000 --> 00:42:14.400
passing left Republicans needing a whole new candidate for November,
777
00:42:14.920 --> 00:42:19.440
the governor, Henry McMaster appointed Graham's sister, Darlene Graham, to
778
00:42:19.519 --> 00:42:22.280
hold the seat in the meantime, making her the first
779
00:42:22.360 --> 00:42:25.280
woman ever to represent South Carolina in the Senate. Then
780
00:42:25.440 --> 00:42:30.320
came the special primary on August eleventh. Ten Republicans on
781
00:42:30.360 --> 00:42:33.719
the ballot, Darlene Graham, while she finished first gongs and
782
00:42:33.840 --> 00:42:36.920
Ralph Norman finished second, but neither one cleared the fifty
783
00:42:36.920 --> 00:42:39.800
percent hurdle. So now it comes down to a one
784
00:42:39.840 --> 00:42:43.840
on one runoff next Tuesday, August twenty fifth. And these
785
00:42:43.880 --> 00:42:46.880
are two very different Republicans. Darlene Graham, Well, she's a
786
00:42:46.880 --> 00:42:50.320
political newcomer. She spent her career in disability services, never
787
00:42:50.400 --> 00:42:53.440
held elected office, and she's running on her late brother's
788
00:42:53.519 --> 00:42:56.320
legacy and on what she's already done. In her first
789
00:42:56.400 --> 00:42:58.920
weeks in the Senate. She helped pass a major Rusher
790
00:42:59.079 --> 00:43:03.599
sanctions passage package, she voted to confirm Attorney General Todd Blanche,
791
00:43:03.639 --> 00:43:07.559
and she picked up the president's endorsement. She's running as
792
00:43:07.599 --> 00:43:12.199
an outsider. Guilty is charged, she says, for not being
793
00:43:12.239 --> 00:43:12.880
a politician.
794
00:43:12.920 --> 00:43:14.760
Now. Ralph Norman is the opposite.
795
00:43:14.880 --> 00:43:17.639
He's a Freedom Caucus conservative, a businessman, he's served in
796
00:43:17.679 --> 00:43:20.840
Congress for years, and he just ran a statewide race
797
00:43:20.880 --> 00:43:24.199
for governor earlier this cycle. His whole case is experience.
798
00:43:24.800 --> 00:43:28.239
That for a six year term in the Senate is
799
00:43:28.280 --> 00:43:31.519
in a dangerous world, you'd want somebody who's been tested
800
00:43:31.559 --> 00:43:35.000
with some experience. And he's questioned whether voters have had
801
00:43:35.119 --> 00:43:38.039
enough time to vet a newcomer for the job. That big,
802
00:43:38.760 --> 00:43:41.599
that question got very real at their debate on Tuesday night,
803
00:43:41.639 --> 00:43:44.760
Graham was asked about Taiwan and a South China Sea
804
00:43:44.800 --> 00:43:45.960
and look at her answer.
805
00:43:46.320 --> 00:43:48.400
I'm just going to be honest to you. I'm not
806
00:43:48.639 --> 00:43:52.360
on national security that I'm not that informed on national security.
807
00:43:52.599 --> 00:43:58.159
So but I do support the military. My brother was
808
00:43:58.159 --> 00:44:01.599
in the Air Force for thirty three years, So I
809
00:44:01.679 --> 00:44:04.679
will do everything I can to support the military.
810
00:44:05.159 --> 00:44:07.840
National security's not a thing, but she loves the military.
811
00:44:08.079 --> 00:44:12.960
That's good. Norman jumped on it, of course, pointing to
812
00:44:13.039 --> 00:44:15.920
his own record. That's the fault line of this whole.
813
00:44:15.760 --> 00:44:19.480
Race, the outsider who says she'll learn against the veteran
814
00:44:19.480 --> 00:44:21.559
who says the job doesn't come with time for a
815
00:44:21.639 --> 00:44:25.280
learning curve. The endorsman show you just how split the
816
00:44:25.280 --> 00:44:27.599
party is. Lined Up behind Graham, you have President Trump,
817
00:44:27.840 --> 00:44:30.159
Tim Scott, Senator Majority Leader John Thune.
818
00:44:30.199 --> 00:44:32.199
Well that's its qualifier right there.
819
00:44:32.559 --> 00:44:36.320
Senator Tom Cotton lined up behind Norman, former Governor Nikki Haley,
820
00:44:36.360 --> 00:44:39.239
and former Senator Jim Demitt, two of the biggest names
821
00:44:39.280 --> 00:44:42.440
in South Carolina conservative politics. Now there's real money into
822
00:44:42.480 --> 00:44:44.519
it as well, a super pac that wants back Lindsey
823
00:44:44.559 --> 00:44:47.719
Graham is now spending heavily to get a sister across
824
00:44:47.760 --> 00:44:50.519
the line. Whoever wins Tuesday is the heavy favorite to
825
00:44:50.559 --> 00:44:53.599
hold the seat in November. And there's nobody I'd rather
826
00:44:53.719 --> 00:44:56.800
break this one down with on a Friday than my
827
00:44:56.920 --> 00:45:00.679
friend Chad Cayton, who is fired up about this. Independent
828
00:45:00.719 --> 00:45:03.880
journalist and founder of Operation Free Nation, Chad Cayton, Welcome
829
00:45:03.880 --> 00:45:06.719
back to Fired Up Friday. I know how you feel
830
00:45:07.199 --> 00:45:13.679
about Noreen Graham or whatever her name is. I know
831
00:45:13.719 --> 00:45:14.559
how you feel about it.
832
00:45:14.599 --> 00:45:18.360
You say, I don't even care what her name is.
833
00:45:19.000 --> 00:45:22.199
You said it was, uh, what did you call senator
834
00:45:22.599 --> 00:45:24.000
birthright senatorship?
835
00:45:24.440 --> 00:45:27.360
No birthship is South Carolina.
836
00:45:27.960 --> 00:45:28.880
So talk about this.
837
00:45:29.000 --> 00:45:33.679
I mean, look, look, we and Lindsay's death was tragic honoring.
838
00:45:33.800 --> 00:45:36.840
It is common to honor a late senator with putting
839
00:45:36.880 --> 00:45:39.679
a family member in their place, but it is not
840
00:45:40.039 --> 00:45:44.480
common to basically support that family member who's never been
841
00:45:44.480 --> 00:45:46.960
in politics to take the seat in the Senate.
842
00:45:46.960 --> 00:45:48.679
I mean, we're talking about the Senate. This isn't even
843
00:45:48.719 --> 00:45:50.280
like some like small house seats somewhere.
844
00:45:50.320 --> 00:45:53.519
This is the United States Senate and she's actually doing
845
00:45:53.599 --> 00:45:54.440
well in the bowls.
846
00:45:54.480 --> 00:45:56.639
So what's going on here? Chad?
847
00:45:57.519 --> 00:46:01.840
The power of the Trump endorsement. Ain't no, But South
848
00:46:01.880 --> 00:46:05.440
Carolina has had a tendency to not allow somebody else
849
00:46:05.480 --> 00:46:07.840
to come in and tell them how to vote. You
850
00:46:07.880 --> 00:46:11.639
remember in the primary, you had Nancy Mace, had somebody
851
00:46:11.639 --> 00:46:14.559
else that was endorsed by Donald Trump that didn't go
852
00:46:14.679 --> 00:46:18.400
so well. Nancy Mayce won. There's another person that had
853
00:46:18.440 --> 00:46:20.840
beef with Trump, but they got past it now is
854
00:46:20.920 --> 00:46:24.920
Lindsey Graham, and he didn't get moved anywhere, shape or form,
855
00:46:25.039 --> 00:46:29.440
because South Carolina is real big on not letting somebody
856
00:46:29.480 --> 00:46:30.159
tell them how.
857
00:46:30.079 --> 00:46:30.840
To do things.
858
00:46:31.039 --> 00:46:34.480
And after the debate, we have gone past the sweet
859
00:46:34.559 --> 00:46:38.320
little sister that's warning her brother's death to somebody that
860
00:46:38.440 --> 00:46:41.800
wants to be in the Senate for six years in
861
00:46:41.880 --> 00:46:46.480
a very dangerous world. And right now the United States,
862
00:46:46.960 --> 00:46:51.400
South Carolina and the rest of the world deserves better.
863
00:46:51.800 --> 00:46:55.320
We need a leader in the Senate, not an intern.
864
00:46:55.679 --> 00:46:59.840
And right now, after you've seen multiple videos and her debate,
865
00:47:01.079 --> 00:47:06.000
to say to the American people in South Carolina, it's
866
00:47:06.119 --> 00:47:09.320
just not my thing. National Security the.
867
00:47:09.239 --> 00:47:12.199
Sentence job is to ratify treaties.
868
00:47:12.559 --> 00:47:15.760
Their job is to get on the budget of our
869
00:47:15.840 --> 00:47:18.639
military to be able to sit there and put up
870
00:47:19.119 --> 00:47:21.599
a ribbon on your car and say that I stand
871
00:47:21.639 --> 00:47:24.880
with the military in any way, shape or form, is
872
00:47:24.960 --> 00:47:27.239
some way a qualifier.
873
00:47:27.360 --> 00:47:30.159
For you to be one of one hundred senators.
874
00:47:30.079 --> 00:47:35.119
Is an abject failure in this system. We deserve better,
875
00:47:35.320 --> 00:47:40.360
the American people deserve better, and this nepotism thing has
876
00:47:40.400 --> 00:47:43.400
got to go. And if you look at who's endorsing her,
877
00:47:43.800 --> 00:47:48.119
it's the establishment machine, the Dixie Democrats of South Carolina
878
00:47:48.360 --> 00:47:51.440
that are going after not to mention one of Kamala's
879
00:47:51.480 --> 00:47:54.559
super packs and one of Bernie Sanders super packs. And
880
00:47:54.639 --> 00:47:57.119
if we really want to go to the floor, you've
881
00:47:57.119 --> 00:48:01.119
got legislators in the South Carolina ASSEM believe right now
882
00:48:01.119 --> 00:48:04.639
that are Democrats saying, hey, Democrats, if you didn't vote
883
00:48:04.639 --> 00:48:07.239
in the other primary, feel free to jump into this
884
00:48:07.280 --> 00:48:10.960
one because we have the Dixie Democrats running Columbia and
885
00:48:11.039 --> 00:48:15.039
those people refuse to close our elections.
886
00:48:15.559 --> 00:48:17.719
Yeah, you're damn right on, fired up, David.
887
00:48:18.239 --> 00:48:20.079
Yeah, I mean you should, and I understand you're being
888
00:48:20.119 --> 00:48:22.360
fired up about this one. And look, I in primaries,
889
00:48:22.559 --> 00:48:25.400
I usually try to stay pretty neutral because we don't
890
00:48:25.400 --> 00:48:27.800
know who's gonna win, and I lively leave it to
891
00:48:27.840 --> 00:48:29.719
the people of those states. To decide who gets to
892
00:48:29.719 --> 00:48:31.840
represent them. I can give my opinion if I have one,
893
00:48:32.159 --> 00:48:33.559
if it really actually impacts me.
894
00:48:34.159 --> 00:48:37.039
But on this one, I'm having a hard time getting behind.
895
00:48:37.199 --> 00:48:40.039
Uh what what is it? Darlee? What is her name?
896
00:48:41.920 --> 00:48:44.800
Darlene Darlee? That's what Darlee Graham.
897
00:48:45.119 --> 00:48:47.119
That's right, because she changed her last name, and I
898
00:48:47.199 --> 00:48:49.760
keep forgetting what her last name was before she changed
899
00:48:49.760 --> 00:48:52.159
into Graham, which and that and that is the weirdest
900
00:48:52.159 --> 00:48:54.840
part about all of this, right, the fact that you know,
901
00:48:55.039 --> 00:48:57.000
here comes a woman, she changes her last name.
902
00:48:57.039 --> 00:48:58.719
It's like the second she sat.
903
00:48:58.480 --> 00:49:00.760
In the seat, it was almost like you decided that
904
00:49:00.800 --> 00:49:02.440
she was going to run for by changing her name
905
00:49:02.480 --> 00:49:02.960
to Graham.
906
00:49:03.480 --> 00:49:06.280
And then you know this whole debate. I'm not a
907
00:49:07.159 --> 00:49:08.280
national security is not my thing?
908
00:49:08.719 --> 00:49:08.920
Now?
909
00:49:09.119 --> 00:49:11.519
She when she But I want to tell you something
910
00:49:11.559 --> 00:49:13.800
because this is what struck me by that, and this
911
00:49:13.840 --> 00:49:15.639
is where I became no longer neutral.
912
00:49:15.639 --> 00:49:15.840
Now.
913
00:49:15.880 --> 00:49:17.239
I love Rep. Norman.
914
00:49:17.280 --> 00:49:18.559
I think he does a great job. He comes on
915
00:49:18.559 --> 00:49:22.079
this show. He's a super nice gentleman. He understands the issues.
916
00:49:22.119 --> 00:49:25.360
He's a conservative or real conservative. And you know, my
917
00:49:25.480 --> 00:49:28.400
issue is when somebody says national security isn't my thing,
918
00:49:28.440 --> 00:49:31.440
but I support our troops. What I hear is something
919
00:49:31.480 --> 00:49:35.360
that was notus notoriously Lindsey Graham, and that's I'm going
920
00:49:35.400 --> 00:49:38.119
to vote for endless money to go to our troops.
921
00:49:38.239 --> 00:49:41.199
I'm going to fund war as long as somebody asks
922
00:49:41.280 --> 00:49:43.760
me for that check. But I don't understand what those
923
00:49:43.800 --> 00:49:46.079
people are actually suiting up to go and do, because
924
00:49:46.119 --> 00:49:47.679
I don't understand national security.
925
00:49:47.719 --> 00:49:49.880
It's not my thing. So what we don't need.
926
00:49:50.000 --> 00:49:51.480
We need to fund the troops as much as we
927
00:49:51.519 --> 00:49:52.760
can fund them. But what we don't need is a
928
00:49:52.760 --> 00:49:54.840
blank check to go to war and a senator that
929
00:49:54.920 --> 00:49:58.079
doesn't understand the battles we're sending our young men and
930
00:49:58.119 --> 00:50:01.199
women into. That's what concern This isn't a house seat.
931
00:50:01.679 --> 00:50:04.679
This isn't where the outsiders go to serve. That's for
932
00:50:04.719 --> 00:50:07.119
the House. You know, send us your farmers, send us,
933
00:50:07.159 --> 00:50:12.159
your disability services workers, send us whoever. That's a representative government.
934
00:50:12.159 --> 00:50:13.880
You go through the community, you serve two years, and
935
00:50:13.920 --> 00:50:16.159
you go home. Let's put term limits on that. Let's
936
00:50:16.159 --> 00:50:17.280
make that a representative body.
937
00:50:17.360 --> 00:50:19.920
This is the Senate. The Senate is its own thing
938
00:50:20.039 --> 00:50:22.239
for a reason. These are your elder statesmen.
939
00:50:22.400 --> 00:50:25.000
These are the people that are supposed to rise above
940
00:50:25.119 --> 00:50:27.480
all of the politics and really do the hard work
941
00:50:27.519 --> 00:50:30.079
necessary to govern our country. And this is the best
942
00:50:30.119 --> 00:50:32.400
you can do in South Carolina. I'm not buying it.
943
00:50:33.599 --> 00:50:35.400
I'm not buying it either, and neither are the people
944
00:50:35.480 --> 00:50:38.159
of South Carolina. I'm telling you right now, you can't
945
00:50:38.199 --> 00:50:40.519
go on any social media nowhere, and I'm telling you
946
00:50:40.719 --> 00:50:43.280
social media a real life. But tonight is going to
947
00:50:43.280 --> 00:50:46.320
be a very interesting rally with President Trump in Myrtle Beach.
948
00:50:46.480 --> 00:50:51.079
Myrtle Beach is a very, very very red pro Trump county.
949
00:50:51.400 --> 00:50:54.360
But there's also Russell Fry who jumped into this, who
950
00:50:54.400 --> 00:50:56.400
was running for the House seat and the Senate at
951
00:50:56.400 --> 00:50:58.679
the same time and lost in the Senate race.
952
00:50:59.000 --> 00:51:00.639
And I'm wondering if he's going to be.
953
00:51:00.639 --> 00:51:03.719
Brought out because the people of Oree County, South Carolina,
954
00:51:03.920 --> 00:51:04.639
are a little.
955
00:51:04.519 --> 00:51:08.960
Mythed that he put the House seat in what could.
956
00:51:08.719 --> 00:51:11.719
Be a Democrat could take it over, because he let
957
00:51:11.760 --> 00:51:13.679
it sit while he ran for Senate and lost.
958
00:51:14.039 --> 00:51:15.880
There's a whole lot of different.
959
00:51:16.199 --> 00:51:19.280
Dramas playing out here tonight, not to mention a severe
960
00:51:19.320 --> 00:51:22.559
thunderstorm that is hitting Martle Beach right now, and so
961
00:51:22.679 --> 00:51:27.079
when this happens and tonight's rally, I'm Barry. I'm calling
962
00:51:27.519 --> 00:51:30.639
Ralph Norman by five points. I just don't see it.
963
00:51:30.960 --> 00:51:33.760
And I know that the South Carolina people, although we
964
00:51:33.800 --> 00:51:37.119
respect Donald Trump and we love President Trump, this is
965
00:51:37.159 --> 00:51:40.239
South Carolina. We'll make our own decisions, thank you very much, sir.
966
00:51:40.440 --> 00:51:43.000
Yeah, and look and look, I do support the President,
967
00:51:43.000 --> 00:51:45.880
and I appreciate his endorsements. The President, And just to
968
00:51:45.880 --> 00:51:48.519
be clear, the President has his own reasons for endorsing
969
00:51:48.559 --> 00:51:50.039
It doesn't mean that Norman's not going to make a
970
00:51:50.039 --> 00:51:52.840
great senator. The President has his own reasons for endorsing
971
00:51:52.840 --> 00:51:54.599
who he endorses, and he has to, at the end
972
00:51:54.639 --> 00:51:56.760
of the day, factor in a lot of different things.
973
00:51:56.760 --> 00:51:59.719
So it's not disrespectful to not support the person in
974
00:51:59.760 --> 00:52:01.840
this race that the President might not be supporting. I
975
00:52:01.840 --> 00:52:04.480
think Norman's a patriot, and Norman's been endorsed by the
976
00:52:04.519 --> 00:52:07.239
way for the House, so it's not like he doesn't carry.
977
00:52:07.000 --> 00:52:08.079
Trump's seal of approval.
978
00:52:08.119 --> 00:52:11.079
So I think, look, South Carolina has a lot of
979
00:52:11.079 --> 00:52:13.800
good options, you know, I think it's obvious where you
980
00:52:13.840 --> 00:52:15.480
fall on this one. And I guess we'll see what
981
00:52:15.519 --> 00:52:17.480
happens on Tuesday. Chad stay fired up.
982
00:52:18.320 --> 00:52:19.800
Yeah, go ahead, it's early important.
983
00:52:21.960 --> 00:52:25.760
I'm actually helping the president out because Ralph Norman is
984
00:52:25.840 --> 00:52:29.800
the number one conservative voting elected official in the state.
985
00:52:30.199 --> 00:52:33.119
He is voted at ninety three percent with Donald Trump
986
00:52:33.400 --> 00:52:36.840
in all of his administration. Tim Scott can't even say
987
00:52:36.880 --> 00:52:39.920
that you're welcome, mister President, and the people of South
988
00:52:39.960 --> 00:52:41.519
carolinaa said you a fighter.
989
00:52:42.320 --> 00:52:45.639
Well, we'll see what happens on Tuesday. Jack Gayton Fired
990
00:52:45.719 --> 00:52:47.559
Up Fridays. Always love seeing you here. Brother.
991
00:52:47.599 --> 00:52:52.000
I'll talk to you next week. Ruh, Ralph, that's our
992
00:52:52.039 --> 00:52:52.760
show for tonight.
993
00:52:52.800 --> 00:52:53.440
Before we go.
994
00:52:53.760 --> 00:52:55.719
It's the weekend, so I thought i'd leave you with something.
995
00:52:55.800 --> 00:52:57.360
Let's just call it weird.
996
00:52:58.199 --> 00:52:59.159
Don't be weird?
997
00:53:02.239 --> 00:53:04.199
Good, pretty, pretty good.
998
00:53:04.480 --> 00:53:08.360
And this bloating is before even the trigger shot.
999
00:53:08.760 --> 00:53:09.440
Don't be weird.

00:00:17.760 --> 00:00:20.640
his third attempt, and this time well the richest man
4
00:00:20.679 --> 00:00:23.039
in the world is advocating for him, posting on X
5
00:00:23.239 --> 00:00:26.519
Free Chauvin and the President just struck a deal. He says,
6
00:00:26.559 --> 00:00:29.519
We'll slash the price of your hamburger meat, but their
7
00:00:29.600 --> 00:00:32.640
concerns that American ranchers could end up paying the price.
8
00:00:32.920 --> 00:00:36.880
More on that later. But first, Cora was five years old,
9
00:00:37.359 --> 00:00:41.479
Dawson was three, Callen was eight months old, still a baby,
10
00:00:42.240 --> 00:00:44.640
and on a January night in twenty twenty three, then
11
00:00:44.679 --> 00:00:49.000
a quiet town south of Boston, their mother strangled all
12
00:00:49.039 --> 00:00:51.640
three of them, one at a time with exercise bands.
13
00:00:52.240 --> 00:00:53.119
Shouldn't deny it.
14
00:00:53.399 --> 00:00:56.399
Her own lawyer stood up in court and admitted that
15
00:00:56.520 --> 00:01:00.679
she did it. This week, while a jury decide whether
16
00:01:01.000 --> 00:01:05.200
Lindsey Clancy is a murderer or just a woman who
17
00:01:05.200 --> 00:01:10.159
lost her mind, something is happening on the courthouse steps
18
00:01:10.760 --> 00:01:14.879
that's starting to gain more traction than the case itself.
19
00:01:15.640 --> 00:01:16.359
The facts of the.
20
00:01:16.280 --> 00:01:19.400
Case really aren't in dispute with the Clancy killed her
21
00:01:19.400 --> 00:01:24.120
three children, whether her defense argues is that she shouldn't
22
00:01:24.120 --> 00:01:26.799
be held responsible for it because she was in the
23
00:01:26.840 --> 00:01:32.079
grip of severe postpartum psychosis, that she'd been over medicated,
24
00:01:32.400 --> 00:01:34.640
that she heard a voice telling her to do it.
25
00:01:35.640 --> 00:01:39.159
Prosecutors argue the opposite, that she planned it, that she
26
00:01:39.280 --> 00:01:43.599
sent her husband out on an errand to buy herself time,
27
00:01:44.680 --> 00:01:47.879
that she wanted to take those children with her when
28
00:01:47.920 --> 00:01:51.120
she tried to end her own life that same night.
29
00:01:51.959 --> 00:01:53.079
Now she survived.
30
00:01:53.519 --> 00:01:56.239
She went out on a second story window, and now
31
00:01:56.280 --> 00:01:58.640
she's paralyzed in a wheelchair.
32
00:01:58.799 --> 00:02:02.000
On trial for first murder. Twelve jurors will decide her.
33
00:02:01.920 --> 00:02:06.560
Fate any day. So let's look at what happened outside
34
00:02:06.760 --> 00:02:11.280
the courthouse yesterday. Because while the jury sat inside, roughly
35
00:02:11.360 --> 00:02:16.280
three hundred people, nearly all of them women, gathered in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
36
00:02:16.319 --> 00:02:20.599
They wore pink It wore shirts that read believe and
37
00:02:21.199 --> 00:02:22.479
she needed help.
38
00:02:22.360 --> 00:02:24.960
And peace for Lindsey.
39
00:02:25.439 --> 00:02:28.680
They waved flags from other countries to show support from
40
00:02:28.719 --> 00:02:32.759
the global community. They stood in a circle and said
41
00:02:32.759 --> 00:02:37.280
the Lord's Prayer and raised their arms and made hearts
42
00:02:37.319 --> 00:02:41.000
with their hands. And when Lindsay Clancy's defense attorney walked
43
00:02:41.039 --> 00:02:42.639
up to that courthouse.
44
00:02:42.439 --> 00:02:53.800
The crowd broke out into applause, look.
45
00:02:57.280 --> 00:03:00.560
A rally, applause for the defense of a woman who
46
00:03:00.800 --> 00:03:03.919
strangled her three small children. The organizer stood in front
47
00:03:03.919 --> 00:03:06.680
of that crowd and told them to trust the lawyer
48
00:03:06.719 --> 00:03:07.400
because he was.
49
00:03:08.080 --> 00:03:10.560
He had Lindsay's fight, Lindsay's fight.
50
00:03:11.759 --> 00:03:15.400
Somewhere in that sentence, three dead children just quietly vanished.
51
00:03:15.400 --> 00:03:16.919
It was really about Lindsay, right.
52
00:03:17.680 --> 00:03:19.639
And it isn't only the people who came there in
53
00:03:19.680 --> 00:03:23.360
person and pink to cheer for her on TikTok.
54
00:03:23.400 --> 00:03:25.840
There's this odd trend right now of.
55
00:03:25.759 --> 00:03:31.199
Women filling in themselves, cradling their babies, tearing up, capturing
56
00:03:31.280 --> 00:03:35.960
the video same Lindsay, Same, drawing a parallel from their
57
00:03:36.000 --> 00:03:38.680
own hard days as a mom to a woman who
58
00:03:38.719 --> 00:03:40.000
strangled her three kids.
59
00:03:40.319 --> 00:03:44.520
Look indicated further on into her travels, I am completely
60
00:03:44.560 --> 00:03:47.039
overwhelmed trying to take care of the kids. I'm drowning
61
00:03:47.080 --> 00:03:50.319
every day. I feel guilty that I'm spending my family's
62
00:03:50.360 --> 00:03:52.560
money and not making any I feel like I spend
63
00:03:52.560 --> 00:03:55.560
way too much. She wrote that right, I'm tired of
64
00:03:56.000 --> 00:03:59.000
I'm terrified of Callen getting sick. He's a sick baby,
65
00:03:59.000 --> 00:04:01.159
a sick baby. Is miss He's sick now with a
66
00:04:01.199 --> 00:04:04.759
double ear infection, clearly has a belly ache. It's miserable.
67
00:04:04.800 --> 00:04:06.520
I feel like the other kids are going to get
68
00:04:06.599 --> 00:04:09.520
him sick all winter long. She wrote that right correct.
69
00:04:09.719 --> 00:04:13.599
There's also this random trend of angry women throwing ice
70
00:04:13.680 --> 00:04:18.360
into their bathtub, and the money followed. In about a week,
71
00:04:18.879 --> 00:04:22.839
strangers have poured over a million dollars into a fund
72
00:04:23.279 --> 00:04:27.600
for Clancy's family, more than twenty seven thousand donations from
73
00:04:27.600 --> 00:04:30.360
as far as way as Australia. In the UK nearly
74
00:04:30.399 --> 00:04:34.360
a million dollars in the wake of the one thing
75
00:04:34.480 --> 00:04:39.319
a mother is never supposed to do. Now, look postparton
76
00:04:39.399 --> 00:04:43.920
psychosis and depression. It's genuinely a terrifying medical condition. It
77
00:04:43.959 --> 00:04:47.680
strikes maybe one or two mothers in a thousand. The anxiety,
78
00:04:47.720 --> 00:04:50.079
the intrusive thoughts, the exhaustion, there's no.
79
00:04:50.079 --> 00:04:51.600
Bottom to it. It's a real illness.
80
00:04:52.519 --> 00:04:56.879
But they're suffering from it, and when they are, they
81
00:04:56.959 --> 00:05:01.920
don't do what Clancy did. When you're struggling with a
82
00:05:01.959 --> 00:05:05.240
sick baby, or not sleeping or long hours, you don't
83
00:05:05.360 --> 00:05:10.600
do what Clancy did. We're not talking about the sleepless
84
00:05:10.720 --> 00:05:13.199
nights or the difficulty of being a young parent.
85
00:05:14.720 --> 00:05:17.360
We're talking about postpartum depression.
86
00:05:18.399 --> 00:05:22.560
We're talking about on one side, the murder and the
87
00:05:22.600 --> 00:05:28.399
celebration of the murder, and somehow pairing it with postpartum depression,
88
00:05:28.639 --> 00:05:33.240
normalizing it as if this is some sort of rational outcome.
89
00:05:35.079 --> 00:05:39.519
There's a canyon between compassion and a coronation. You can
90
00:05:39.639 --> 00:05:42.560
grieve for a broken woman and still refuse to crown
91
00:05:42.600 --> 00:05:43.319
her a folk hero.
92
00:05:44.319 --> 00:05:45.920
Real compassion grieves quietly.
93
00:05:46.040 --> 00:05:49.160
It doesn't put on a pink shirt and cheer, and
94
00:05:49.240 --> 00:05:53.839
it doesn't caption a video of your own child.
95
00:05:54.319 --> 00:05:56.560
With the name of a woman who killed hers.
96
00:05:57.319 --> 00:06:00.199
And a whole lot of people out there, they seem
97
00:06:00.240 --> 00:06:02.519
to have lost the ability to tell those two things apart.
98
00:06:02.839 --> 00:06:05.399
Consider what's happening in this country right now, because this
99
00:06:05.560 --> 00:06:09.399
same month, in that same corner of America, the governor
100
00:06:09.399 --> 00:06:11.560
of Massachusetts sat down at a desk in front of
101
00:06:11.560 --> 00:06:15.199
a cheering room of women and signed a law wiping
102
00:06:15.199 --> 00:06:17.600
out the women on abortion, allowing it right up to
103
00:06:17.639 --> 00:06:19.600
the day of birth at a doctor's discretion.
104
00:06:19.680 --> 00:06:20.519
One doctor, that's it.
105
00:06:20.720 --> 00:06:25.279
Applause smiles for a bill about ending a baby's life.
106
00:06:25.319 --> 00:06:28.279
In nine months and now a few weeks later, a
107
00:06:28.279 --> 00:06:31.399
few states over one hundreds more applauding for a woman
108
00:06:31.519 --> 00:06:34.399
who killed her three kids they were already born.
109
00:06:35.959 --> 00:06:38.600
Now I don't believe those are two separate stories. I
110
00:06:38.600 --> 00:06:39.800
think they're the same one.
111
00:06:39.920 --> 00:06:43.240
A culture that has slowly carefully taught itself to look
112
00:06:43.439 --> 00:06:45.680
at a dead child and find a reason a clap.
113
00:06:46.279 --> 00:06:49.519
They'll tell you it's all just mental health, compassion, just
114
00:06:49.600 --> 00:06:54.879
believing women. But there's something underneath it that's colder than compassion,
115
00:06:55.480 --> 00:06:58.360
and didn't just begin in that courtroom, and it won't
116
00:06:58.439 --> 00:07:02.680
end there. Three children are dead court Dawson Klin. They'll
117
00:07:02.680 --> 00:07:06.399
never start kindergarten, or learn to drive, never hold children
118
00:07:06.439 --> 00:07:08.560
of their own. A jury is about to decide what
119
00:07:08.600 --> 00:07:11.120
their mother deserves. I can tell you what I think
120
00:07:11.160 --> 00:07:11.759
she deserves.
121
00:07:12.600 --> 00:07:13.519
But out on.
122
00:07:13.399 --> 00:07:17.480
Those court house steps, the verdict is already in. They
123
00:07:17.519 --> 00:07:20.920
showed up in pink, and they decided the woman who
124
00:07:21.000 --> 00:07:23.879
killed these children's she was the one who was wronged.
125
00:07:24.759 --> 00:07:27.639
And I promise you, heading to November, this will be
126
00:07:27.839 --> 00:07:31.959
yet another rally cry for the Democratic Socialists to divide
127
00:07:32.000 --> 00:07:35.519
women from the rest of America, another manufactured crisis that
128
00:07:35.560 --> 00:07:41.680
can be solved by a radical revolution and bigger government, and.
129
00:07:41.680 --> 00:07:45.240
I have a feeling that this is what's happening here.
130
00:07:45.759 --> 00:07:47.240
You just wait and see.
131
00:07:47.560 --> 00:07:50.720
All I know is this when you start losing respect
132
00:07:50.759 --> 00:07:54.759
for life at all stages, it's a slippery slope to
133
00:07:54.920 --> 00:07:59.600
pink shirts and demonstrations outside of an alleged murderer's courtroom.
134
00:08:00.560 --> 00:08:04.800
Still ahead, the officer convicted in George Floyd's death files
135
00:08:04.839 --> 00:08:06.120
to overturn the whole thing.
136
00:08:06.240 --> 00:08:09.079
Elon must says, set him free, and I'll walk you
137
00:08:09.120 --> 00:08:10.759
through whether he has a chance.
138
00:08:11.199 --> 00:08:14.160
Then the President's new deal to bring down beef prices
139
00:08:14.160 --> 00:08:16.759
in why America's ranchers are a little concerned about it,
140
00:08:16.879 --> 00:08:19.519
and the first Lady turned a charity for foster kids
141
00:08:19.560 --> 00:08:22.439
into a race car screaming around the National Mall this

Remember the Summer of Love, Riots, buildings set on fire,

00:09:13.360 --> 00:09:16.200
a wave of violence, death and destruction.
156
00:09:16.399 --> 00:09:19.120
BLM. What is the love? BLM?
157
00:09:19.240 --> 00:09:23.120
It has been six years since that infamous video surfaced,
158
00:09:23.600 --> 00:09:26.279
the one that appeared to show Minneapolis police officer Derek
159
00:09:26.320 --> 00:09:29.519
Chauvin kneeling on George Floyd's neck for roughly nine and
160
00:09:29.600 --> 00:09:33.240
a half minutes. April twenty twenty one, in Minnesota, jury
161
00:09:33.279 --> 00:09:36.360
convicted him of second degree murder and a judge sentenced
162
00:09:36.399 --> 00:09:39.360
him to nearly twenty two and a half years. Chauvin's
163
00:09:39.399 --> 00:09:42.799
lawyers filed a petition this week to erase his murder
164
00:09:42.840 --> 00:09:46.840
conviction entirely, to rule that the trial that put him
165
00:09:46.879 --> 00:09:49.960
away it shouldn't happen at all. The autopsy in the
166
00:09:50.000 --> 00:09:54.840
case found fentanyl and methphetamine in Floyd's system, and Chauvin's
167
00:09:54.879 --> 00:09:59.759
defense has argued for years that the drugs, not the
168
00:10:00.799 --> 00:10:02.759
are what really killed him.
169
00:10:03.000 --> 00:10:05.679
That fight never went away. His lawyers point to what
170
00:10:05.840 --> 00:10:09.320
happened at the trial itself. The judge refused to move
171
00:10:09.360 --> 00:10:11.000
it out of Minneapolis, even as the.
172
00:10:10.960 --> 00:10:14.720
City braves for riots. The middle of jury selection, the
173
00:10:14.799 --> 00:10:18.360
city announced a twenty seven million dollar settlement with Floyd's family,
174
00:10:18.559 --> 00:10:22.000
and two seated jurors were dismissed after admitting it destroyed
175
00:10:22.000 --> 00:10:25.919
their impartiality. The jury was never sequestered, so they watched
176
00:10:25.919 --> 00:10:29.759
a second police shooting and fresh unrest unfold nearby in
177
00:10:29.840 --> 00:10:33.720
the middle of the trial, and then days before the verdict,
178
00:10:33.799 --> 00:10:37.320
a sitting member of Congress went to the streets of
179
00:10:37.360 --> 00:10:40.559
Minnesota and said this. We got to stay on the
180
00:10:40.600 --> 00:10:43.639
street and we've got to get more active.
181
00:10:44.000 --> 00:10:47.360
We've got to get more confrontational. We've got to make
182
00:10:47.399 --> 00:10:49.519
sure that they think they know that.
183
00:10:49.440 --> 00:10:50.399
We need business.
184
00:10:50.960 --> 00:10:54.080
He's saying, behind that math, We're gonna get more confrontational.
185
00:10:54.600 --> 00:10:58.440
She's telling a crowd to escalate if Chovin walked. And
186
00:10:58.480 --> 00:11:01.600
this isn't just conservative crime foul. The trial judge himself,
187
00:11:01.639 --> 00:11:05.360
Peter Cahill, said from the bench that waters comments may
188
00:11:05.399 --> 00:11:08.039
have handed Chauvin the grounds to get that entire.
189
00:11:07.879 --> 00:11:09.279
Verdict overturned on appeal.
190
00:11:09.879 --> 00:11:13.440
So this week, Chauvin's attorney, Greg Joseph filed a thirty
191
00:11:13.519 --> 00:11:16.639
one page petition asking the Minnesota Court of Appeals to
192
00:11:16.679 --> 00:11:19.480
dismiss the case outright, and his argument goes deeper than
193
00:11:19.480 --> 00:11:22.960
anyone jurk. He says the charges were never lawfully brought
194
00:11:23.000 --> 00:11:25.639
in the first place, that no grand jury was ever
195
00:11:25.720 --> 00:11:30.279
convened to weigh the evidence, and that Governor Tim Walls
196
00:11:31.279 --> 00:11:35.120
improperly handed the prosecution to his own Attorney General, Keith
197
00:11:35.159 --> 00:11:38.240
Ellison to get the murder charge. The public was demanding.
198
00:11:39.000 --> 00:11:42.879
Joseph's words, the entire trial was a fraud. Now even
199
00:11:42.879 --> 00:11:46.879
Elon Musk has chimed in posting simply free Chauvin and
200
00:11:47.080 --> 00:11:50.919
calling the conviction unjust. This is Chauvin's third attempt to
201
00:11:50.919 --> 00:11:53.159
get these charges thrown out. The Supreme Court it's already
202
00:11:53.200 --> 00:11:56.879
turned him down twice, and lower courts have rejected petitions before.
203
00:11:57.399 --> 00:11:59.759
See what happens with this one. To break down what
204
00:11:59.799 --> 00:12:01.360
happens next.
205
00:12:01.120 --> 00:12:03.519
And with this newest attempt to get these charges thrown out,
206
00:12:03.639 --> 00:12:06.639
I'm honored to welcome Lieutenant Randy Sutton, founder of the
207
00:12:06.679 --> 00:12:11.480
Wounded Blue Lieutenant. I think a lot of people think
208
00:12:11.559 --> 00:12:14.200
that this was a political prosecution. A lot of people
209
00:12:14.279 --> 00:12:18.720
believe that he didn't result his actions did not result
210
00:12:18.720 --> 00:12:21.879
in the death of mister Floyd. And hopefully maybe this
211
00:12:21.919 --> 00:12:25.320
is the chance he needs to finally sort of prove
212
00:12:26.000 --> 00:12:28.159
his innocence for real, right.
213
00:12:29.320 --> 00:12:32.480
I certainly hope so, But unfortunately I have my doubts
214
00:12:32.519 --> 00:12:37.200
considering the politics involved with this. We have seen this
215
00:12:37.279 --> 00:12:41.120
play out literally since the first day that the video
216
00:12:42.120 --> 00:12:47.120
of George Floyd's arrest surfaced. I have never ever seen
217
00:12:47.679 --> 00:12:51.919
a more political prosecution of a law enforcement officer in
218
00:12:52.000 --> 00:12:57.480
my entire career. And I've seen plenty of law enforcement
219
00:12:57.519 --> 00:13:03.799
officers falsely accused, false the uh prosecuted, But this is
220
00:13:03.879 --> 00:13:06.960
the worst. This is the worst example that I have
221
00:13:07.039 --> 00:13:12.799
ever seen. Derek Chauvin did absolutely nothing wrong and uh,
222
00:13:13.000 --> 00:13:17.200
the three officers with him he were equally innocent. And
223
00:13:17.360 --> 00:13:20.720
this was a uh. This was this was the biggest
224
00:13:20.759 --> 00:13:24.600
miscarriage of justice that I've ever seen as a as
225
00:13:24.639 --> 00:13:27.039
not just as a as a law enforcement officer, but
226
00:13:27.120 --> 00:13:27.960
as a human being.
227
00:13:28.679 --> 00:13:28.960
Yeah.
228
00:13:29.080 --> 00:13:31.440
And you know, we had the big old riots, the BLM,
229
00:13:31.519 --> 00:13:35.240
the Communist organization, put all this energy into making sure
230
00:13:35.480 --> 00:13:38.080
the memory of George Floyd spread I remember his funeral.
231
00:13:38.320 --> 00:13:39.720
They were in the middle of COVID.
232
00:13:39.759 --> 00:13:42.159
Nobody can go and see the relatives dying in a hospital.
233
00:13:42.200 --> 00:13:44.600
But yet George Floyd's allowed to have a room filled
234
00:13:44.600 --> 00:13:48.559
with hundreds of people, all close together, no social distancing.
235
00:13:48.720 --> 00:13:52.399
They erected statues for him. Well, Derek Chauvin was painted
236
00:13:52.440 --> 00:13:55.759
as a murderer and now he sits in jail. And
237
00:13:56.039 --> 00:13:59.960
the reality of this is, even if he gets actual
238
00:14:00.279 --> 00:14:03.679
justice in his case, this country would be turned upside
239
00:14:03.679 --> 00:14:06.320
down again. Right, the BLM will turn back out, and
240
00:14:06.600 --> 00:14:09.759
even if he is able to walk free, he'll never
241
00:14:09.799 --> 00:14:12.279
be able to live free in this country again, based
242
00:14:12.320 --> 00:14:13.159
on what they've done to him.
243
00:14:13.200 --> 00:14:17.279
Right, his life is absolutely ruined. Remember, he was also
244
00:14:18.000 --> 00:14:21.399
almost murdered in jail as well. He was stabbed numerous times.
245
00:14:22.399 --> 00:14:26.720
Now here, The reality here is that there was there
246
00:14:26.759 --> 00:14:31.600
were so many aspects of this case that were that
247
00:14:31.759 --> 00:14:38.440
were grounds for a dismissal and and overturning that between
248
00:14:38.519 --> 00:14:45.440
the medical examiner being urged, not just urged, but being
249
00:14:45.559 --> 00:14:52.840
forced to change his medical examiners finding to the assistant
250
00:14:52.960 --> 00:14:56.799
police chief being caught on the on the stand lying
251
00:14:56.960 --> 00:15:03.559
about the training that Derek Chauvin actually received. That technique
252
00:15:04.240 --> 00:15:06.840
was of kneeling and by the way, he wasn' kneeling
253
00:15:06.919 --> 00:15:09.639
on his neck, he was kneeling on his back. This
254
00:15:09.679 --> 00:15:14.279
whole thing was was literally made up because of the
255
00:15:14.279 --> 00:15:18.600
the politics of this and Ellison Keith Ellison, I mean,
256
00:15:18.720 --> 00:15:23.120
you talk about an individual who shouldn't be prosecuting anything.
257
00:15:24.480 --> 00:15:27.279
This was for. This is literally ordered from the governor
258
00:15:27.399 --> 00:15:34.120
down to to literally silence anybody that didn't go along
259
00:15:34.200 --> 00:15:40.200
with the realities of George Floyd's death. George Floyd career criminal,
260
00:15:40.799 --> 00:15:45.679
violent individual, took all the all the fatal doses of
261
00:15:45.759 --> 00:15:49.679
drugs that he that he took, and then they people
262
00:15:50.200 --> 00:15:55.519
literally deified him. It's it's it's unbelievable now for anybody
263
00:15:55.559 --> 00:15:58.000
that it really wants to dig deep into this case.
264
00:15:59.200 --> 00:16:04.440
A journalist Liz Colin produced a film that is the
265
00:16:04.519 --> 00:16:10.799
quintessential film and authority on this. It's called The Fall
266
00:16:10.879 --> 00:16:13.519
of Minneapolis, and I urge everybody to take a look
267
00:16:13.559 --> 00:16:15.159
at it. If you want to get your blood up
268
00:16:15.559 --> 00:16:18.440
and see the true injustice of what took place, check
269
00:16:18.440 --> 00:16:22.440
out this documentary film. It will make you crazy.
270
00:16:22.440 --> 00:16:22.639
Look.
271
00:16:22.759 --> 00:16:25.480
They turned a man who was a criminal, who was
272
00:16:25.519 --> 00:16:30.799
on drugs, who was fighting with police officers into a hero,
273
00:16:30.919 --> 00:16:33.559
and they demonized a man who was out there serving
274
00:16:33.600 --> 00:16:37.120
the community, and look at all of the long term
275
00:16:37.120 --> 00:16:40.360
effects to defunding police and everything that came after. This
276
00:16:40.559 --> 00:16:44.840
was really just such a political stunt that destroyed so
277
00:16:44.919 --> 00:16:45.720
many lives.
278
00:16:45.799 --> 00:16:47.799
And look, said.
279
00:16:47.600 --> 00:16:50.919
Tim wall State, surprise, surprise, Lieutenan, you do so much
280
00:16:50.919 --> 00:16:51.320
great work.
281
00:16:51.320 --> 00:16:52.360
Thank you so much for being here.
282
00:16:52.360 --> 00:16:54.240
If people want to go and learn more about the
283
00:16:54.279 --> 00:16:55.679
Wounded Blue where would you let them go.
284
00:16:56.879 --> 00:16:58.759
Well, let me just say one other thing that this
285
00:16:58.799 --> 00:17:02.879
has had a long term effect on the emotional, mental,
286
00:17:03.039 --> 00:17:07.440
and psychological health of American law enforcement officers around this nation.
287
00:17:07.960 --> 00:17:10.319
This was a watershed moment when it came down to
288
00:17:11.640 --> 00:17:17.119
the destruction of the faith that law enforcement officers had
289
00:17:17.200 --> 00:17:19.759
in the system itself. So I urge people to go
290
00:17:19.799 --> 00:17:22.279
to the Wounded Blue dot org. That's the Wounded Blue
291
00:17:22.319 --> 00:17:24.920
dot Org. See who we are, see what we do.
292
00:17:25.160 --> 00:17:28.160
If you're a law enforcement officer and you're struggling, remember
293
00:17:28.200 --> 00:17:31.000
our motto, never forgotten, never alone. We're here for you.
294
00:17:31.480 --> 00:17:33.160
Lieutenant. Thank you so much for being here, and thank
295
00:17:33.200 --> 00:17:34.319
you for all the work you do.
296
00:17:35.400 --> 00:17:36.960
Thank you.
297
00:17:37.039 --> 00:17:41.519
Coming up, Beef just hit a record seven dollars a pound.
298
00:17:42.000 --> 00:17:44.319
But the President he's got a plan.
299
00:17:44.759 --> 00:17:47.640
We're going to talk to a ranger about what that
300
00:17:47.759 --> 00:17:50.960
means for farmers and whether the short term solution has
301
00:17:51.000 --> 00:17:53.720
any long term impacts for the beef industry.
302
00:17:53.799 --> 00:18:00.680

Record nearly seven dollars a pounds, so it's more expensive

to make that burger. It's someone with sixty percent from

342

Trump announced a deal. He says he's going to bring

that number down. That's right, your burgers are going to

get cheaper. You don't have to resort to be in

00:20:03.319 --> 00:20:07.480
a Hamburgler anymore. Now here's how it's gonna work. For
346
00:20:07.640 --> 00:20:10.839
the next ninety days, the United States will let up
347
00:20:10.880 --> 00:20:14.920
to three hundred thousand metric tons of ground beef. I
348
00:20:14.960 --> 00:20:18.440
didn't realize we measured ground beef and metric tons. But
349
00:20:18.519 --> 00:20:21.279
it's coming into the country without the tariff that normally
350
00:20:21.359 --> 00:20:24.319
kicked in above a set limit, a tariff that can
351
00:20:24.400 --> 00:20:25.799
run north of twenty five percent.
352
00:20:26.039 --> 00:20:28.079
When Trump says he secured.
353
00:20:27.599 --> 00:20:31.119
A commitment that this imported beef gets sold to you
354
00:20:31.240 --> 00:20:35.440
at a twenty five percent discount underneath market rates and
355
00:20:35.519 --> 00:20:37.680
his words, he says, today I concluded a deal to
356
00:20:37.720 --> 00:20:41.400
substantially lower the price of ground beef for working American families.
357
00:20:41.720 --> 00:20:44.839
What important note for the record, President didn't say which
358
00:20:44.880 --> 00:20:46.680
countries the beef is coming from.
359
00:20:46.680 --> 00:20:50.799
Who exactly made that pricing commitment, or how it gets enforced.
360
00:20:50.839 --> 00:20:53.480
Once it hits a grocery store, a formal order is
361
00:20:53.519 --> 00:20:54.920
coming to put it in motion.
362
00:20:55.079 --> 00:21:00.400
So why is beef this expensive to begin with? It
363
00:21:00.480 --> 00:21:01.359
comes down to cattle.
364
00:21:01.880 --> 00:21:05.279
American beef herd is the smollets. It has been since
365
00:21:05.319 --> 00:21:09.640
the nineteen fifties, years of drought, punishing feed costs and
366
00:21:09.720 --> 00:21:13.440
ranchers thinning their herds, trying to supply while demand stayed strong.
367
00:21:13.480 --> 00:21:15.559
They'll forget that screwworm scare two.
368
00:21:16.359 --> 00:21:19.720
Now, look, the cows have the same appetite, higher prices
369
00:21:20.119 --> 00:21:21.119
and rebuilding a herd.
370
00:21:21.200 --> 00:21:22.000
It's not something you.
371
00:21:21.960 --> 00:21:25.039
Can just do very quickly fix years. And here's the
372
00:21:25.079 --> 00:21:28.559
benefit to American people with this deal. It's simple, it's immediate,
373
00:21:28.599 --> 00:21:31.960
it's cheaper beef, and right now, for families getting hammered
374
00:21:31.960 --> 00:21:34.640
it to check out, they can use some cheaper prices now.
375
00:21:34.680 --> 00:21:36.680
It's temporary, just ninety days, built as.
376
00:21:36.599 --> 00:21:40.559
A bridge to carry consumers through while American ranchers slowly rebuild,
377
00:21:40.599 --> 00:21:45.039
and it pumps supply into a genuine shortage. And politically,
378
00:21:45.359 --> 00:21:47.880
it aimed straight at the number one issue on voters'
379
00:21:47.920 --> 00:21:51.759
minds heading into November, affordability, the cost of groceries, the
380
00:21:51.799 --> 00:21:54.759
cost of meat. If it works the way it's advertised,
381
00:21:54.759 --> 00:21:57.039
a family paying seven dollars a pound could be playing
382
00:21:57.079 --> 00:21:57.799
closer to five.
383
00:21:57.839 --> 00:21:58.599
It's a big deal.
384
00:21:59.000 --> 00:22:01.960
But not everyone's in favor of this move. The National
385
00:22:02.240 --> 00:22:06.240
Cattleman's Beef Association, they came out against the deal, arguing
386
00:22:06.359 --> 00:22:09.440
it does nothing to accomplish Trump's own stated goal of
387
00:22:09.480 --> 00:22:12.640
growing the American herd. Their logic, flood the market with
388
00:22:12.720 --> 00:22:15.400
cheap foreign beef and you push prices down on the
389
00:22:15.440 --> 00:22:18.440
same ranchers you're asking to expand, which gives them less
390
00:22:18.440 --> 00:22:22.160
reason to expand, not more. Cattleman's groups have fought foreign
391
00:22:22.240 --> 00:22:24.839
beef imports for years, and when Trump floated this very
392
00:22:24.880 --> 00:22:27.640
idea back in May, he pulled it after ranchers and
393
00:22:27.720 --> 00:22:31.480
members of Congress pushed hard. Now, some Republicans run easy
394
00:22:31.519 --> 00:22:34.680
about it tonight, and there's an open question hanging over
395
00:22:34.720 --> 00:22:37.599
the whole thing, with no country's name and no enforcement
396
00:22:37.640 --> 00:22:40.759
spelled out, will shoppers actually see that twenty five percent
397
00:22:40.799 --> 00:22:43.720
benefit or does get absorbed somewhere between the border and
398
00:22:43.759 --> 00:22:46.359
the meat case. So that's the trade off relief for
399
00:22:46.400 --> 00:22:49.559
the family buying dinner tonight. And also could it be
400
00:22:49.599 --> 00:22:51.759
a blow to the American rancher trying to stay in
401
00:22:51.799 --> 00:22:55.680
business a promised discount that for the moment comes without
402
00:22:55.759 --> 00:22:58.599
much fine print. Now, my next guest lives on the
403
00:22:58.680 --> 00:23:01.160
ranching side of the equation, running for state wide office
404
00:23:01.160 --> 00:23:03.759
and the biggest cattle state in the country. I mean,
405
00:23:03.759 --> 00:23:07.960
now both French rancher GOP nominee for Texas Railroad Commissioner bo.
406
00:23:08.039 --> 00:23:10.640
Welcome to David Pollock Prime Time. I don't know how
407
00:23:10.680 --> 00:23:13.359
to feel about this. I mean, I love hamburgers and
408
00:23:13.440 --> 00:23:16.960
the price of beef is a little disturbing. Ground beef
409
00:23:17.000 --> 00:23:19.160
not so much as steak. Steaks are very expensive. Ground beef,
410
00:23:19.200 --> 00:23:21.240
you can still find a deal, but we don't want
411
00:23:21.279 --> 00:23:22.839
to put our farmers out of business and compete with
412
00:23:22.880 --> 00:23:23.880
them with cheap foreign meat.
413
00:23:23.960 --> 00:23:26.240
So I don't know what to think about this. I'm
414
00:23:26.240 --> 00:23:27.440
looking for your take on this one.
415
00:23:28.480 --> 00:23:30.920
Yeah, listen, I think President Trump is rightly focused on
416
00:23:31.000 --> 00:23:34.400
how he can make affordability better for the November election.
417
00:23:35.000 --> 00:23:38.359
That's front and center on everybody's mind. So I think
418
00:23:38.359 --> 00:23:41.039
as hard as in the right place, I tend to
419
00:23:41.519 --> 00:23:43.359
if I had been in the room when this discussion
420
00:23:43.400 --> 00:23:44.880
came up, I think I would have been on the
421
00:23:44.920 --> 00:23:48.319
side of advising him not to do this, just because
422
00:23:48.359 --> 00:23:52.240
I think, you know, government interference in our markets is
423
00:23:52.319 --> 00:23:56.079
really never a good thing, and you know it is temporary.
424
00:23:56.160 --> 00:23:58.519
So maybe this will give us an opportunity to get
425
00:23:58.559 --> 00:24:01.839
through this election and and reset after that. But you're right,
426
00:24:01.880 --> 00:24:05.200
as a rancher, you know, we we have our costs
427
00:24:05.200 --> 00:24:08.839
on everything have gone way up, especially here in big
428
00:24:08.880 --> 00:24:11.720
parts of Texas. We've had, you know, years and years
429
00:24:11.880 --> 00:24:15.039
of drought, meaning we can't carry as many cattle on
430
00:24:15.119 --> 00:24:17.279
the on the ranch as we used to be able to,
431
00:24:17.839 --> 00:24:20.440
and so that really has more to do with why
432
00:24:20.920 --> 00:24:23.720
you know, our herd is lower numbers than it used
433
00:24:23.759 --> 00:24:27.559
to be, and I think that applies nationally. But you know, listen,
434
00:24:27.599 --> 00:24:31.200
when when the government interferes and and uh, you know,
435
00:24:31.559 --> 00:24:36.039
makes decisions like this, oftentimes that it has consequences that
436
00:24:36.079 --> 00:24:39.119
are unforeseen. And you know, my hope is is that
437
00:24:39.200 --> 00:24:41.720
we can actually rely on the markets to work efficiently,
438
00:24:42.240 --> 00:24:44.440
and and they were in the process of doing that.
439
00:24:44.559 --> 00:24:48.160
Of course, you know, ranchers are trying to rebuild their herds.
440
00:24:48.319 --> 00:24:50.880
They're incentivized to do so with you know, with with
441
00:24:51.000 --> 00:24:54.279
free market capitalism, and uh, yeah, that that's the that's
442
00:24:54.319 --> 00:24:57.240
the position I would prefer to see. But again, this
443
00:24:57.319 --> 00:24:59.680
is temporary, so hopefully it's it's not going to make
444
00:24:59.720 --> 00:25:02.640
a huge difference on the ranchers long term.
445
00:25:03.079 --> 00:25:05.759
Yeah, I mean, look, I'm all for finding an approach
446
00:25:06.119 --> 00:25:10.160
to make beef more affordable for Americans. Americans love their beef,
447
00:25:10.400 --> 00:25:13.000
but it has been expensive. I mean at the price
448
00:25:13.039 --> 00:25:15.640
even at places like at big box stores, stakes are
449
00:25:15.680 --> 00:25:17.599
still very high. And I know ranchers are doing everything
450
00:25:17.599 --> 00:25:19.240
they can to get as much beef to the market
451
00:25:19.279 --> 00:25:22.240
as possible, but like you mentioned, it's not easy to
452
00:25:22.880 --> 00:25:25.240
really just increase the numbers of herds.
453
00:25:25.240 --> 00:25:25.400
Now.
454
00:25:25.400 --> 00:25:29.720
Are there other possible solutions to get the prices of
455
00:25:29.799 --> 00:25:32.440
beef down? Is there regulations that can be cut, is
456
00:25:32.480 --> 00:25:35.559
their incentives that they can provide, or is just are
457
00:25:35.559 --> 00:25:37.559
we sort of in a tough spot right now until
458
00:25:37.559 --> 00:25:38.279
the herds regrow.
459
00:25:39.079 --> 00:25:42.079
I mean, look, the prices of everything are much higher
460
00:25:42.400 --> 00:25:45.599
in the last few years because our government has printed
461
00:25:46.079 --> 00:25:50.720
so much money, injected more money into the supply, spent
462
00:25:50.799 --> 00:25:53.079
more money than they ever have, and all these things
463
00:25:53.079 --> 00:25:55.799
have just created massive inflation. And then you couple that
464
00:25:55.920 --> 00:26:00.400
with just the years of costs on agriculture and is
465
00:26:00.440 --> 00:26:03.720
going up with you know, equipment and insurance and labor,
466
00:26:03.799 --> 00:26:06.039
all of those costs have gone way up. And so
467
00:26:06.319 --> 00:26:09.519
you know, a ranch is a business, so they have
468
00:26:09.599 --> 00:26:14.200
to set pricing that allows them to make a profit,
469
00:26:14.359 --> 00:26:18.960
and you know, the market should determine that, but it's
470
00:26:19.039 --> 00:26:21.559
really been increasingly difficult. You know, I think something like
471
00:26:21.680 --> 00:26:26.079
ninety percent of ranches are not profitable, and it's just
472
00:26:26.279 --> 00:26:28.880
mainly because the cost of everything has gone up and
473
00:26:28.920 --> 00:26:31.599
the cost to reduce the beef has just gone way up,
474
00:26:32.039 --> 00:26:36.319
and so you know, I think that reducing the requirements
475
00:26:36.319 --> 00:26:42.720
on ranchers, reducing regulations, having free market forces, you know,
476
00:26:43.480 --> 00:26:46.880
really determine what pricing is. I think that's really the
477
00:26:46.920 --> 00:26:47.519
best way to go.
478
00:26:48.079 --> 00:26:50.440
Yeah, And I'm sure, I mean, we haven't seen, you know,
479
00:26:50.519 --> 00:26:52.759
the whole deal, and we don't know what the order
480
00:26:52.799 --> 00:26:55.640
actually looks like. I'm sure this president is not going
481
00:26:55.720 --> 00:27:00.880
to not consider the needs of the American ranchers. And
482
00:27:01.119 --> 00:27:03.279
maybe when this deal comes out, there's some incentives for
483
00:27:03.400 --> 00:27:06.680
American ranchers to increasesize their herds, and maybe there are
484
00:27:06.720 --> 00:27:09.359
some tax incentives and deregulation that that's going to be
485
00:27:09.400 --> 00:27:11.400
part of this deal as well. Because look, we need
486
00:27:11.400 --> 00:27:15.119
to get America farming again and ranching again, and we
487
00:27:15.160 --> 00:27:17.559
need these farmlands not to dry up and get bought
488
00:27:17.599 --> 00:27:19.599
up by China so they can build multi family homes
489
00:27:19.599 --> 00:27:21.000
on it and starve us of our own ability to
490
00:27:21.000 --> 00:27:23.640
produce food. I mean, we need to bring back American
491
00:27:23.720 --> 00:27:26.759
ranching and American food production, and I know that there's
492
00:27:26.759 --> 00:27:28.519
a way to do it, and I think this present
493
00:27:28.559 --> 00:27:31.359
is probably more focused on that to other people where
494
00:27:31.359 --> 00:27:35.359
how long do you think the beef prices will remain high?
495
00:27:35.480 --> 00:27:37.799
Is there something on the horizon.
496
00:27:37.920 --> 00:27:39.720
I mean, are the herd numbers coming back, or we
497
00:27:39.720 --> 00:27:41.599
maybe like a year or two out from be able
498
00:27:41.640 --> 00:27:44.519
to get ten dollars a pound you know New York
499
00:27:44.559 --> 00:27:47.000
strip at the grocery store, or those days gone.
500
00:27:47.319 --> 00:27:48.880
Now, I don't think you're ever going to see that again.
501
00:27:49.480 --> 00:27:53.200
Like I said, inflation has while we have reduced the
502
00:27:53.279 --> 00:27:56.440
rate of inflation, the prices don't ever actually go down.
503
00:27:56.480 --> 00:27:58.799
It's just the rate of inflation has gone down. And
504
00:27:58.880 --> 00:28:00.839
so you know, we are in a new norm. I think.
505
00:28:01.720 --> 00:28:04.319
But again, if if we can just reduce the actual
506
00:28:04.440 --> 00:28:07.880
costs on ranchers, that all the other costs, like I said, insurance, labor,
507
00:28:07.920 --> 00:28:10.799
things like that, that that is how we can make
508
00:28:10.839 --> 00:28:14.200
it where ranchers are incentivized to stay in business. Of course,
509
00:28:14.240 --> 00:28:17.920
we need rain often and at the right time to
510
00:28:18.480 --> 00:28:20.880
grow what we need to grow so that the cattle
511
00:28:20.880 --> 00:28:24.519
can harvest the natural range that they consume. And so
512
00:28:25.240 --> 00:28:28.559
you know, for those reasons, there's just not a lot
513
00:28:28.680 --> 00:28:31.119
we can do. Now we can as a government. The
514
00:28:31.160 --> 00:28:34.680
government can certainly interfere in ways that disrupt the markets.
515
00:28:35.240 --> 00:28:37.440
And I think that's what the fear is here is
516
00:28:37.440 --> 00:28:39.079
is this really going to be a disruption that is
517
00:28:39.200 --> 00:28:42.680
ultimately harmful for the market. My hope is is that
518
00:28:42.799 --> 00:28:45.519
long term it is not, but you know that remains
519
00:28:45.519 --> 00:28:45.960
to be seen.
520
00:28:46.480 --> 00:28:48.240
Now, both people want to come and learn more about
521
00:28:48.240 --> 00:28:51.720
your campaign. Help you out in Texas because we're trying to.
522
00:28:51.720 --> 00:28:53.079
Keep the a red state.
523
00:28:53.160 --> 00:28:56.319
With tall Rico running around and trying to stir up
524
00:28:56.359 --> 00:28:59.880
some comrades for his socialist revolution, where can they go
525
00:28:59.880 --> 00:29:00.640
to help you out?
526
00:29:01.200 --> 00:29:03.480
Yeah, well, remember I'm running for the Texas Railroad Commission,
527
00:29:03.519 --> 00:29:06.000
which has nothing to do with agriculture or railroads. It's
528
00:29:06.000 --> 00:29:08.759
the regulator for the oil and gas industry, which also
529
00:29:09.160 --> 00:29:12.839
you know, affects everything every cost you pay your price
530
00:29:12.880 --> 00:29:14.759
at the pump. But it's both French dot com and
531
00:29:14.799 --> 00:29:16.279
at both French on X.
532
00:29:16.599 --> 00:29:18.240
We wish you the best luck and could look to you.
533
00:29:18.319 --> 00:29:20.400
We're big supporter Zevy and we appreciate you coming on
534
00:29:20.440 --> 00:29:20.720
the show.
535
00:29:21.279 --> 00:29:22.000
Thank you so much.
536
00:29:22.039 --> 00:29:22.359
Thank you.
537
00:29:23.200 --> 00:29:27.359
When we come back, Milania Trump takes her Foster Care
538
00:29:27.400 --> 00:29:30.799
of mission to the fastest cars in the country and
539
00:29:30.880 --> 00:29:34.400
one of the sharpest minds in marketing breaks down how
540
00:29:34.440 --> 00:29:37.480
it's gonna work and later it's fired up. Friday, South
541
00:29:37.480 --> 00:29:40.200
Carolina picks a new United States Senator in a few days,
542
00:29:40.640 --> 00:29:43.319
and it's a brawl between two candidates.
543
00:29:43.759 --> 00:29:45.960
Chad Kton is getting a little bit fired up about
544
00:29:46.000 --> 00:29:47.640
one of them. That's coming up tonight.
545
00:29:55.319 --> 00:29:57.160

555
00:30:33.079 --> 00:30:37.599
Yesterday in the Rose Garden, Milania Trump did something you rarely.
556
00:30:37.279 --> 00:30:38.240
See in Washington.
557
00:30:38.759 --> 00:30:41.119
She took a charity for foster kids and turned it
558
00:30:41.200 --> 00:30:42.400
into a race car.
559
00:30:42.759 --> 00:30:44.160
And this Sunday, that.
560
00:30:44.160 --> 00:30:47.160
Car and that cause will take a lap in front
561
00:30:47.160 --> 00:30:49.839
of the entire country. Let's talk about the cause itself.
562
00:30:50.359 --> 00:30:53.960
Milania first launched the Be Best program in twenty eighteen.
563
00:30:54.000 --> 00:30:58.279
Her signature platform focused broadly on the well being of children,
564
00:30:58.440 --> 00:31:01.319
their health, their safety on line, the damage.
565
00:31:00.880 --> 00:31:03.920
To opioid epetic does to kids. That's the umbrella.
566
00:31:04.079 --> 00:31:07.880
Everything she does as First Lady lives under Being Best.
567
00:31:08.319 --> 00:31:10.480
In twenty twenty one, she built a program underneath that
568
00:31:10.599 --> 00:31:14.640
umbrella aimed squarely at the group, the children stuck in
569
00:31:14.720 --> 00:31:18.319
the foster care system. That program called Fostering the Future.
570
00:31:18.359 --> 00:31:21.599
So when you hear both names this weekend, that's the relationship.
571
00:31:21.640 --> 00:31:25.039
Be Best, that's the platform. Fostering the Future, well, that's
572
00:31:25.240 --> 00:31:26.559
helping foster care students.
573
00:31:26.559 --> 00:31:28.920
And this week Fostering the Future landed a two.
574
00:31:28.759 --> 00:31:32.640
Million dollar boost, a million dollars from Fox Corp. A
575
00:31:32.759 --> 00:31:36.799
million from andycar to fund college scholarships for young people
576
00:31:36.799 --> 00:31:38.960
aging out of the foster care system. It creates new
577
00:31:39.000 --> 00:31:43.000
scholarships at Indiana University and Purdue and brings her national
578
00:31:43.039 --> 00:31:46.079
network to twenty six colleges and universities.
579
00:31:46.200 --> 00:31:49.559
The whole point is the kids. Almost nobody fights for.
580
00:31:49.640 --> 00:31:52.680
The ones who turn eighteen and in the system have
581
00:31:52.799 --> 00:31:56.240
nowhere to go overnight, no family, no safety net, nowhere
582
00:31:56.240 --> 00:32:00.319
to go. This gives them a real shot at a degree.
583
00:32:00.759 --> 00:32:02.680
And sitting right there in the rose guard next to
584
00:32:02.720 --> 00:32:06.319
the First Lady was an actual Indie car wrapped in red, white.
585
00:32:06.119 --> 00:32:10.440
And blue carrying the be Best logo beautiful and powerful.
586
00:32:10.720 --> 00:32:14.279
That car is where the marketing turns genuinely clever, because
587
00:32:14.319 --> 00:32:19.160
this weekend, Washington, DC hosts the Freedom to fifty Grand Prix,
588
00:32:19.200 --> 00:32:22.319
the first auto race in history run on the National
589
00:32:22.359 --> 00:32:25.799
Mall stage to celebrate America's two hundred and fiftieth birthday,
590
00:32:25.960 --> 00:32:29.680
and every single car in that race carries that same.
591
00:32:29.799 --> 00:32:32.240
Specially designed be Best logo.
592
00:32:32.319 --> 00:32:34.920
So no matter who takes a check or flag on Sunday,
593
00:32:35.119 --> 00:32:38.839
whoever wins, crosses that finish line carrying Milania's.
594
00:32:38.279 --> 00:32:40.160
Message about foster children.
595
00:32:40.279 --> 00:32:43.480
The logo is painted right onto the track on the
596
00:32:43.519 --> 00:32:46.279
over past at Seventh Street, and the whole race airs
597
00:32:46.359 --> 00:32:50.079
nationally on Fox and FS one all weekend long. A
598
00:32:50.119 --> 00:32:53.000
cause that normally gets zero airtime is about to be
599
00:32:53.039 --> 00:32:56.119
seen by millions of people watching race cars screen past
600
00:32:56.160 --> 00:33:00.319
the Washington Monument. Joining me now, Mark Beckman, CEO of
601
00:33:00.440 --> 00:33:05.079
DMA United and senior advisor to First Lady Milania Trump.
602
00:33:05.480 --> 00:33:06.680
What an exciting.
603
00:33:06.279 --> 00:33:09.599
Weekend coming up, and what an interesting way to promote
604
00:33:09.640 --> 00:33:12.559
fostering the future, which is an amazing program part of
605
00:33:12.559 --> 00:33:16.680
this amazing be Best operation where the First Lady is
606
00:33:16.680 --> 00:33:18.359
really trying to give back to the youth of American
607
00:33:18.440 --> 00:33:19.400
doing an amazing.
608
00:33:19.079 --> 00:33:23.119
Job at it. Talk about how big this is to have.
609
00:33:23.440 --> 00:33:25.319
Not only the event in the Rose Guard but fostering
610
00:33:25.359 --> 00:33:29.400
the future all over this amazing IndyCar race that's happening
611
00:33:29.400 --> 00:33:30.839
for the first time in Washington, DC.
612
00:33:33.319 --> 00:33:36.359
The First Lady has truly put together a one of
613
00:33:36.400 --> 00:33:41.359
a kind marketing vertical. There's no doubt that no first
614
00:33:41.440 --> 00:33:44.640
Lady in history has ever done anything like this. Let's
615
00:33:44.720 --> 00:33:46.480
start with the Rose Guarden event.
616
00:33:46.839 --> 00:33:47.799
We had a.
617
00:33:47.799 --> 00:33:52.720
Fostering the Future be Best branded Indiecar, that cherry red
618
00:33:52.960 --> 00:33:56.079
iconic car coupled with a limited edition, one of a
619
00:33:56.200 --> 00:34:00.200
kind Milania be Best helmet designed by the champ and
620
00:34:00.319 --> 00:34:03.799
drivers from Indy Car. That car, by the way, was
621
00:34:04.039 --> 00:34:07.720
brought into the Rose Garden via a crane. It's the
622
00:34:07.759 --> 00:34:12.119
most incredible thing that they did. Now, what's important, of course,
623
00:34:12.199 --> 00:34:14.880
the most important part of this is that IndyCar and
624
00:34:15.000 --> 00:34:20.079
Fox are contributing two million dollars to fund scholarships for
625
00:34:20.159 --> 00:34:25.199
America's foster care children at Indiana University and Purdue University,
626
00:34:25.320 --> 00:34:28.559
all tied together at the vision and expertise of First
627
00:34:28.639 --> 00:34:29.760
Lady Milania Trump.
628
00:34:30.039 --> 00:34:30.920
But that's not it.
629
00:34:31.079 --> 00:34:35.000
As you mentioned, this program is extending over the entire weekend.
630
00:34:35.480 --> 00:34:38.519
So what they've done is Indy Car has agreed to
631
00:34:38.559 --> 00:34:41.800
have a be Best Fostering the Future sticker on every
632
00:34:41.840 --> 00:34:45.199
single car in the race this weekend, as well as
633
00:34:45.320 --> 00:34:49.639
on overhead passes bridgeways that the cars will zoom under
634
00:34:50.000 --> 00:34:53.639
as they're racing around our nation's capital for the Grand Prix.
635
00:34:53.880 --> 00:34:56.639
So this has never been done before. It's the first
636
00:34:56.639 --> 00:34:59.360
time a First Lady is doing anything of this nature.
637
00:34:59.400 --> 00:35:01.840
Once again, we have to give our first Lady credit.
638
00:35:01.920 --> 00:35:05.559
She's definitely an innovator when it comes to marketing and
639
00:35:05.840 --> 00:35:09.639
we're raising money, we're helping people in the process, two
640
00:35:09.679 --> 00:35:14.400
million dollars for scholarships at Indiana and Purdue University.
641
00:35:14.320 --> 00:35:16.159
And that is such an important thing.
642
00:35:16.159 --> 00:35:20.639
And we've spoken about this is really providing this place
643
00:35:20.719 --> 00:35:23.880
for foster youths to go when they age out of
644
00:35:23.920 --> 00:35:26.639
the system, and this first Lady, rather than let them
645
00:35:26.679 --> 00:35:30.800
go and just bend for themselves, she's providing a bridge
646
00:35:30.840 --> 00:35:33.159
to really having a much better life. And she's doing
647
00:35:33.199 --> 00:35:36.559
it in the classiest way possible. But I mean the
648
00:35:36.599 --> 00:35:39.679
beauty of it, the way you put it together, it's
649
00:35:39.719 --> 00:35:43.000
so American and it's so cool talk about how important
650
00:35:43.000 --> 00:35:46.519
it is to provide this bridge for foster students that
651
00:35:46.559 --> 00:35:48.920
get this education so they can be successful, so they
652
00:35:48.920 --> 00:35:49.519
can be best.
653
00:35:51.719 --> 00:35:56.559
It's really important. Unfortunately, only three percent of individuals who
654
00:35:56.639 --> 00:36:00.000
reach the age of majority in America who are from
655
00:36:00.079 --> 00:36:03.199
foster care, so just three percent of these individuals go
656
00:36:03.280 --> 00:36:05.320
on and graduate college or university.
657
00:36:05.679 --> 00:36:06.440
Three percent.
658
00:36:06.719 --> 00:36:09.760
So as a result, many of them end up homeless,
659
00:36:10.079 --> 00:36:13.039
mixed up in drugs, in crime and beyond. So what
660
00:36:13.079 --> 00:36:14.920
the First Lady is doing is she's trying to take
661
00:36:15.199 --> 00:36:19.199
that ninety seven percent gap and get everybody educated, give
662
00:36:19.239 --> 00:36:23.480
them a foundation of knowledge so that they could secure
663
00:36:23.760 --> 00:36:27.239
an entry level job and then from there go on
664
00:36:27.320 --> 00:36:30.480
and have financial independence. This will take them off of
665
00:36:30.519 --> 00:36:33.760
the streets and perhaps create the next Steve Jobs, the
666
00:36:33.800 --> 00:36:37.519
next Elon Musk, the next President, the next First Lady
667
00:36:37.880 --> 00:36:39.639
of the United States of America.
668
00:36:39.800 --> 00:36:40.679
We'll give back to.
669
00:36:40.679 --> 00:36:45.639
America's communities, will remove children off of the financial aid
670
00:36:45.719 --> 00:36:49.920
of the government and create autonomy within our nation. And
671
00:36:49.960 --> 00:36:52.440
that's what Fostering in the Future is all about.
672
00:36:52.599 --> 00:36:54.239
Yeah, it's an amazing program.
673
00:36:54.280 --> 00:36:55.880
And the funny thing was that I love how she
674
00:36:55.920 --> 00:36:58.599
came out at the Rose Card and she's like, oh.
675
00:36:58.440 --> 00:36:59.440
You were wondering where I was.
676
00:37:00.079 --> 00:37:03.599
She's planning this amazing event which I can't even imagine.
677
00:37:03.760 --> 00:37:06.760
If you've seen you've seen your wonderful movie about Milania.
678
00:37:06.880 --> 00:37:09.440
When you see how much detail and how much thought
679
00:37:09.760 --> 00:37:12.480
she puts into everything she does, about the way it looks,
680
00:37:12.480 --> 00:37:14.599
the way it appears, making sure it's perfect, you can
681
00:37:14.719 --> 00:37:18.039
imagine how busy she has been trying to make sure
682
00:37:18.119 --> 00:37:21.880
this event is exactly what she envisions that it's going
683
00:37:21.920 --> 00:37:23.719
to be, and it's already turning out spectacularly.
684
00:37:23.840 --> 00:37:27.599
I can imagine. It's a lot of work, right, I'll.
685
00:37:27.400 --> 00:37:29.760
Tell I mean, thanks for asking. It's two months of
686
00:37:29.880 --> 00:37:32.679
work behind the scenes. She came up with the idea,
687
00:37:33.000 --> 00:37:37.599
we contacted mister Penske over at IndyCar and we architected
688
00:37:37.639 --> 00:37:41.400
the entire thing, every single detail that you see the
689
00:37:41.440 --> 00:37:43.800
first lady's involved in. Now keep in mind, this isn't
690
00:37:43.800 --> 00:37:46.679
the only thing she's doing. We just also had our
691
00:37:46.800 --> 00:37:51.039
sixth reunification of Ukrainian and Russian children with their families
692
00:37:51.239 --> 00:37:54.599
a few days earlier on Monday. While she's planning forward
693
00:37:54.639 --> 00:37:59.960
for the nation, the upcoming China State visit United Nations
694
00:38:00.119 --> 00:38:03.000
General Assembly, two events, and a lot more that's going
695
00:38:03.079 --> 00:38:06.000
to be happening throughout the fall and into the winter.
696
00:38:06.480 --> 00:38:09.880
So people look for optics how many appearances, which I
697
00:38:09.880 --> 00:38:13.440
think is really shallow. If the people in your audience,
698
00:38:13.440 --> 00:38:16.320
the people in oan really want to think about it,
699
00:38:16.480 --> 00:38:19.679
what they should think about is results, not optics. This
700
00:38:19.760 --> 00:38:22.719
First Lady is results oriented. We're seeing it with two
701
00:38:22.800 --> 00:38:28.280
pieces of legislation, an executive order, a network of schools
702
00:38:28.320 --> 00:38:32.920
for fostering the future that includes twenty six great universities.
703
00:38:32.960 --> 00:38:36.159
Now the fostering of the future accounts the fostering in
704
00:38:36.159 --> 00:38:39.239
the future together global coalition of Nations. I mean, I
705
00:38:39.239 --> 00:38:41.239
could see here, David and go on and on and on.
706
00:38:41.440 --> 00:38:45.079
What this woman is doing is impacting lives both domestically
707
00:38:45.119 --> 00:38:47.159
and internationally for the better.
708
00:38:48.159 --> 00:38:50.239
She's an amazing First Lady, and it's such a shame
709
00:38:50.480 --> 00:38:52.840
that the press doesn't cover her fairly. If they did,
710
00:38:53.280 --> 00:38:56.079
this country would realize how blessed we are to have her.
711
00:38:56.559 --> 00:38:57.800
And the reunification alone.
712
00:38:57.800 --> 00:38:59.800
We're going to talk next week about the reunification because
713
00:38:59.800 --> 00:39:02.320
that's story in of itself that's worthy of a segment,
714
00:39:02.360 --> 00:39:04.679
because it's worthy of a whole hour because of what
715
00:39:04.760 --> 00:39:07.400
the impact she's making on so many families who have
716
00:39:07.559 --> 00:39:09.639
been affected by Warren. And so I look forward to
717
00:39:09.679 --> 00:39:12.639
talking to you next week about that. But man, congratulations
718
00:39:12.639 --> 00:39:15.320
on a wonderful event. It's going to be an amazing weekend.
719
00:39:15.480 --> 00:39:17.440
And congratulations to the first lady for pulling it off
720
00:39:17.480 --> 00:39:19.239
in such a beautiful and spectacular manner.
721
00:39:21.199 --> 00:39:22.039
Thank you so much.
722
00:39:22.039 --> 00:39:24.800
And you know that the winner will have a be
723
00:39:24.920 --> 00:39:27.639
best Foster in the Future sticker on it.
724
00:39:27.920 --> 00:39:28.960
Amazing, amazing.
725
00:39:28.960 --> 00:39:30.599
Well, you know, the real winners are the people who
726
00:39:30.599 --> 00:39:32.239
are going to benefit from fostering the future.
727
00:39:32.320 --> 00:39:33.920
But the winner of that race is going to have
728
00:39:34.079 --> 00:39:35.800
a fantastic sticker to go along with it.
729
00:39:35.920 --> 00:39:38.920
Mark Beckman, always a matter what it's branded, that's right,
730
00:39:39.960 --> 00:39:43.159
Mark's It's always a pleasure having you on and look
731
00:39:43.159 --> 00:39:46.199
forward to talking to you next week about the reunification.
732
00:39:46.280 --> 00:39:51.519
What a cool story that's going to be. Likewise still
733
00:39:51.519 --> 00:39:51.880
to come.
734
00:39:52.360 --> 00:39:55.239
It's fired up Friday, a Senate runoff down to the
735
00:39:55.239 --> 00:39:58.840
wire in South Carolina and the Conservative movement, well they're
736
00:39:58.880 --> 00:40:02.000
split right down the middle. Chad Katon's fired up about
737
00:40:02.039 --> 00:40:03.360
the choices in South Carolina.
738
00:40:03.360 --> 00:40:05.599
And we have more on that when we return don't
739
00:40:05.599 --> 00:40:06.119
go anywhere.

769
00:41:49.760 --> 00:41:52.800
Next Tuesday, Republicans in South Carolina head back to the
770
00:41:52.840 --> 00:41:55.840
polls to finish a job that started with tragedy. They're
771
00:41:55.880 --> 00:41:59.000
choosing who will fill the United States Senate seat left
772
00:41:59.039 --> 00:42:02.239
empty by the sun death of Lindsay Graham and has
773
00:42:02.280 --> 00:42:04.519
turned into one of the most closely watched runoffs in
774
00:42:04.559 --> 00:42:08.039
the country. Lindsay Graham died unexpectedly on June eleventh. He
775
00:42:08.079 --> 00:42:10.960
had already won his primary for re election, so as
776
00:42:11.000 --> 00:42:14.400
passing left Republicans needing a whole new candidate for November,
777
00:42:14.920 --> 00:42:19.440
the governor, Henry McMaster appointed Graham's sister, Darlene Graham, to
778
00:42:19.519 --> 00:42:22.280
hold the seat in the meantime, making her the first
779
00:42:22.360 --> 00:42:25.280
woman ever to represent South Carolina in the Senate. Then
780
00:42:25.440 --> 00:42:30.320
came the special primary on August eleventh. Ten Republicans on
781
00:42:30.360 --> 00:42:33.719
the ballot, Darlene Graham, while she finished first gongs and
782
00:42:33.840 --> 00:42:36.920
Ralph Norman finished second, but neither one cleared the fifty
783
00:42:36.920 --> 00:42:39.800
percent hurdle. So now it comes down to a one
784
00:42:39.840 --> 00:42:43.840
on one runoff next Tuesday, August twenty fifth. And these
785
00:42:43.880 --> 00:42:46.880
are two very different Republicans. Darlene Graham, Well, she's a
786
00:42:46.880 --> 00:42:50.320
political newcomer. She spent her career in disability services, never
787
00:42:50.400 --> 00:42:53.440
held elected office, and she's running on her late brother's
788
00:42:53.519 --> 00:42:56.320
legacy and on what she's already done. In her first
789
00:42:56.400 --> 00:42:58.920
weeks in the Senate. She helped pass a major Rusher
790
00:42:59.079 --> 00:43:03.599
sanctions passage package, she voted to confirm Attorney General Todd Blanche,
791
00:43:03.639 --> 00:43:07.559
and she picked up the president's endorsement. She's running as
792
00:43:07.599 --> 00:43:12.199
an outsider. Guilty is charged, she says, for not being
793
00:43:12.239 --> 00:43:12.880
a politician.
794
00:43:12.920 --> 00:43:14.760
Now. Ralph Norman is the opposite.
795
00:43:14.880 --> 00:43:17.639
He's a Freedom Caucus conservative, a businessman, he's served in
796
00:43:17.679 --> 00:43:20.840
Congress for years, and he just ran a statewide race
797
00:43:20.880 --> 00:43:24.199
for governor earlier this cycle. His whole case is experience.
798
00:43:24.800 --> 00:43:28.239
That for a six year term in the Senate is
799
00:43:28.280 --> 00:43:31.519
in a dangerous world, you'd want somebody who's been tested
800
00:43:31.559 --> 00:43:35.000
with some experience. And he's questioned whether voters have had
801
00:43:35.119 --> 00:43:38.039
enough time to vet a newcomer for the job. That big,
802
00:43:38.760 --> 00:43:41.599
that question got very real at their debate on Tuesday night,
803
00:43:41.639 --> 00:43:44.760
Graham was asked about Taiwan and a South China Sea
804
00:43:44.800 --> 00:43:45.960
and look at her answer.
805
00:43:46.320 --> 00:43:48.400
I'm just going to be honest to you. I'm not
806
00:43:48.639 --> 00:43:52.360
on national security that I'm not that informed on national security.
807
00:43:52.599 --> 00:43:58.159
So but I do support the military. My brother was
808
00:43:58.159 --> 00:44:01.599
in the Air Force for thirty three years, So I
809
00:44:01.679 --> 00:44:04.679
will do everything I can to support the military.
810
00:44:05.159 --> 00:44:07.840
National security's not a thing, but she loves the military.
811
00:44:08.079 --> 00:44:12.960
That's good. Norman jumped on it, of course, pointing to
812
00:44:13.039 --> 00:44:15.920
his own record. That's the fault line of this whole.
813
00:44:15.760 --> 00:44:19.480
Race, the outsider who says she'll learn against the veteran
814
00:44:19.480 --> 00:44:21.559
who says the job doesn't come with time for a
815
00:44:21.639 --> 00:44:25.280
learning curve. The endorsman show you just how split the
816
00:44:25.280 --> 00:44:27.599
party is. Lined Up behind Graham, you have President Trump,
817
00:44:27.840 --> 00:44:30.159
Tim Scott, Senator Majority Leader John Thune.
818
00:44:30.199 --> 00:44:32.199
Well that's its qualifier right there.
819
00:44:32.559 --> 00:44:36.320
Senator Tom Cotton lined up behind Norman, former Governor Nikki Haley,
820
00:44:36.360 --> 00:44:39.239
and former Senator Jim Demitt, two of the biggest names
821
00:44:39.280 --> 00:44:42.440
in South Carolina conservative politics. Now there's real money into
822
00:44:42.480 --> 00:44:44.519
it as well, a super pac that wants back Lindsey
823
00:44:44.559 --> 00:44:47.719
Graham is now spending heavily to get a sister across
824
00:44:47.760 --> 00:44:50.519
the line. Whoever wins Tuesday is the heavy favorite to
825
00:44:50.559 --> 00:44:53.599
hold the seat in November. And there's nobody I'd rather
826
00:44:53.719 --> 00:44:56.800
break this one down with on a Friday than my
827
00:44:56.920 --> 00:45:00.679
friend Chad Cayton, who is fired up about this. Independent
828
00:45:00.719 --> 00:45:03.880
journalist and founder of Operation Free Nation, Chad Cayton, Welcome
829
00:45:03.880 --> 00:45:06.719
back to Fired Up Friday. I know how you feel
830
00:45:07.199 --> 00:45:13.679
about Noreen Graham or whatever her name is. I know
831
00:45:13.719 --> 00:45:14.559
how you feel about it.
832
00:45:14.599 --> 00:45:18.360
You say, I don't even care what her name is.
833
00:45:19.000 --> 00:45:22.199
You said it was, uh, what did you call senator
834
00:45:22.599 --> 00:45:24.000
birthright senatorship?
835
00:45:24.440 --> 00:45:27.360
No birthship is South Carolina.
836
00:45:27.960 --> 00:45:28.880
So talk about this.
837
00:45:29.000 --> 00:45:33.679
I mean, look, look, we and Lindsay's death was tragic honoring.
838
00:45:33.800 --> 00:45:36.840
It is common to honor a late senator with putting
839
00:45:36.880 --> 00:45:39.679
a family member in their place, but it is not
840
00:45:40.039 --> 00:45:44.480
common to basically support that family member who's never been
841
00:45:44.480 --> 00:45:46.960
in politics to take the seat in the Senate.
842
00:45:46.960 --> 00:45:48.679
I mean, we're talking about the Senate. This isn't even
843
00:45:48.719 --> 00:45:50.280
like some like small house seats somewhere.
844
00:45:50.320 --> 00:45:53.519
This is the United States Senate and she's actually doing
845
00:45:53.599 --> 00:45:54.440
well in the bowls.
846
00:45:54.480 --> 00:45:56.639
So what's going on here? Chad?
847
00:45:57.519 --> 00:46:01.840
The power of the Trump endorsement. Ain't no, But South
848
00:46:01.880 --> 00:46:05.440
Carolina has had a tendency to not allow somebody else
849
00:46:05.480 --> 00:46:07.840
to come in and tell them how to vote. You
850
00:46:07.880 --> 00:46:11.639
remember in the primary, you had Nancy Mace, had somebody
851
00:46:11.639 --> 00:46:14.559
else that was endorsed by Donald Trump that didn't go
852
00:46:14.679 --> 00:46:18.400
so well. Nancy Mayce won. There's another person that had
853
00:46:18.440 --> 00:46:20.840
beef with Trump, but they got past it now is
854
00:46:20.920 --> 00:46:24.920
Lindsey Graham, and he didn't get moved anywhere, shape or form,
855
00:46:25.039 --> 00:46:29.440
because South Carolina is real big on not letting somebody
856
00:46:29.480 --> 00:46:30.159
tell them how.
857
00:46:30.079 --> 00:46:30.840
To do things.
858
00:46:31.039 --> 00:46:34.480
And after the debate, we have gone past the sweet
859
00:46:34.559 --> 00:46:38.320
little sister that's warning her brother's death to somebody that
860
00:46:38.440 --> 00:46:41.800
wants to be in the Senate for six years in
861
00:46:41.880 --> 00:46:46.480
a very dangerous world. And right now the United States,
862
00:46:46.960 --> 00:46:51.400
South Carolina and the rest of the world deserves better.
863
00:46:51.800 --> 00:46:55.320
We need a leader in the Senate, not an intern.
864
00:46:55.679 --> 00:46:59.840
And right now, after you've seen multiple videos and her debate,
865
00:47:01.079 --> 00:47:06.000
to say to the American people in South Carolina, it's
866
00:47:06.119 --> 00:47:09.320
just not my thing. National Security the.
867
00:47:09.239 --> 00:47:12.199
Sentence job is to ratify treaties.
868
00:47:12.559 --> 00:47:15.760
Their job is to get on the budget of our
869
00:47:15.840 --> 00:47:18.639
military to be able to sit there and put up
870
00:47:19.119 --> 00:47:21.599
a ribbon on your car and say that I stand
871
00:47:21.639 --> 00:47:24.880
with the military in any way, shape or form, is
872
00:47:24.960 --> 00:47:27.239
some way a qualifier.
873
00:47:27.360 --> 00:47:30.159
For you to be one of one hundred senators.
874
00:47:30.079 --> 00:47:35.119
Is an abject failure in this system. We deserve better,
875
00:47:35.320 --> 00:47:40.360
the American people deserve better, and this nepotism thing has
876
00:47:40.400 --> 00:47:43.400
got to go. And if you look at who's endorsing her,
877
00:47:43.800 --> 00:47:48.119
it's the establishment machine, the Dixie Democrats of South Carolina
878
00:47:48.360 --> 00:47:51.440
that are going after not to mention one of Kamala's
879
00:47:51.480 --> 00:47:54.559
super packs and one of Bernie Sanders super packs. And
880
00:47:54.639 --> 00:47:57.119
if we really want to go to the floor, you've
881
00:47:57.119 --> 00:48:01.119
got legislators in the South Carolina ASSEM believe right now
882
00:48:01.119 --> 00:48:04.639
that are Democrats saying, hey, Democrats, if you didn't vote
883
00:48:04.639 --> 00:48:07.239
in the other primary, feel free to jump into this
884
00:48:07.280 --> 00:48:10.960
one because we have the Dixie Democrats running Columbia and
885
00:48:11.039 --> 00:48:15.039
those people refuse to close our elections.
886
00:48:15.559 --> 00:48:17.719
Yeah, you're damn right on, fired up, David.
887
00:48:18.239 --> 00:48:20.079
Yeah, I mean you should, and I understand you're being
888
00:48:20.119 --> 00:48:22.360
fired up about this one. And look, I in primaries,
889
00:48:22.559 --> 00:48:25.400
I usually try to stay pretty neutral because we don't
890
00:48:25.400 --> 00:48:27.800
know who's gonna win, and I lively leave it to
891
00:48:27.840 --> 00:48:29.719
the people of those states. To decide who gets to
892
00:48:29.719 --> 00:48:31.840
represent them. I can give my opinion if I have one,
893
00:48:32.159 --> 00:48:33.559
if it really actually impacts me.
894
00:48:34.159 --> 00:48:37.039
But on this one, I'm having a hard time getting behind.
895
00:48:37.199 --> 00:48:40.039
Uh what what is it? Darlee? What is her name?
896
00:48:41.920 --> 00:48:44.800
Darlene Darlee? That's what Darlee Graham.
897
00:48:45.119 --> 00:48:47.119
That's right, because she changed her last name, and I
898
00:48:47.199 --> 00:48:49.760
keep forgetting what her last name was before she changed
899
00:48:49.760 --> 00:48:52.159
into Graham, which and that and that is the weirdest
900
00:48:52.159 --> 00:48:54.840
part about all of this, right, the fact that you know,
901
00:48:55.039 --> 00:48:57.000
here comes a woman, she changes her last name.
902
00:48:57.039 --> 00:48:58.719
It's like the second she sat.
903
00:48:58.480 --> 00:49:00.760
In the seat, it was almost like you decided that
904
00:49:00.800 --> 00:49:02.440
she was going to run for by changing her name
905
00:49:02.480 --> 00:49:02.960
to Graham.
906
00:49:03.480 --> 00:49:06.280
And then you know this whole debate. I'm not a
907
00:49:07.159 --> 00:49:08.280
national security is not my thing?
908
00:49:08.719 --> 00:49:08.920
Now?
909
00:49:09.119 --> 00:49:11.519
She when she But I want to tell you something
910
00:49:11.559 --> 00:49:13.800
because this is what struck me by that, and this
911
00:49:13.840 --> 00:49:15.639
is where I became no longer neutral.
912
00:49:15.639 --> 00:49:15.840
Now.
913
00:49:15.880 --> 00:49:17.239
I love Rep. Norman.
914
00:49:17.280 --> 00:49:18.559
I think he does a great job. He comes on
915
00:49:18.559 --> 00:49:22.079
this show. He's a super nice gentleman. He understands the issues.
916
00:49:22.119 --> 00:49:25.360
He's a conservative or real conservative. And you know, my
917
00:49:25.480 --> 00:49:28.400
issue is when somebody says national security isn't my thing,
918
00:49:28.440 --> 00:49:31.440
but I support our troops. What I hear is something
919
00:49:31.480 --> 00:49:35.360
that was notus notoriously Lindsey Graham, and that's I'm going
920
00:49:35.400 --> 00:49:38.119
to vote for endless money to go to our troops.
921
00:49:38.239 --> 00:49:41.199
I'm going to fund war as long as somebody asks
922
00:49:41.280 --> 00:49:43.760
me for that check. But I don't understand what those
923
00:49:43.800 --> 00:49:46.079
people are actually suiting up to go and do, because
924
00:49:46.119 --> 00:49:47.679
I don't understand national security.
925
00:49:47.719 --> 00:49:49.880
It's not my thing. So what we don't need.
926
00:49:50.000 --> 00:49:51.480
We need to fund the troops as much as we
927
00:49:51.519 --> 00:49:52.760
can fund them. But what we don't need is a
928
00:49:52.760 --> 00:49:54.840
blank check to go to war and a senator that
929
00:49:54.920 --> 00:49:58.079
doesn't understand the battles we're sending our young men and
930
00:49:58.119 --> 00:50:01.199
women into. That's what concern This isn't a house seat.
931
00:50:01.679 --> 00:50:04.679
This isn't where the outsiders go to serve. That's for
932
00:50:04.719 --> 00:50:07.119
the House. You know, send us your farmers, send us,
933
00:50:07.159 --> 00:50:12.159
your disability services workers, send us whoever. That's a representative government.
934
00:50:12.159 --> 00:50:13.880
You go through the community, you serve two years, and
935
00:50:13.920 --> 00:50:16.159
you go home. Let's put term limits on that. Let's
936
00:50:16.159 --> 00:50:17.280
make that a representative body.
937
00:50:17.360 --> 00:50:19.920
This is the Senate. The Senate is its own thing
938
00:50:20.039 --> 00:50:22.239
for a reason. These are your elder statesmen.
939
00:50:22.400 --> 00:50:25.000
These are the people that are supposed to rise above
940
00:50:25.119 --> 00:50:27.480
all of the politics and really do the hard work
941
00:50:27.519 --> 00:50:30.079
necessary to govern our country. And this is the best
942
00:50:30.119 --> 00:50:32.400
you can do in South Carolina. I'm not buying it.
943
00:50:33.599 --> 00:50:35.400
I'm not buying it either, and neither are the people
944
00:50:35.480 --> 00:50:38.159
of South Carolina. I'm telling you right now, you can't
945
00:50:38.199 --> 00:50:40.519
go on any social media nowhere, and I'm telling you
946
00:50:40.719 --> 00:50:43.280
social media a real life. But tonight is going to
947
00:50:43.280 --> 00:50:46.320
be a very interesting rally with President Trump in Myrtle Beach.
948
00:50:46.480 --> 00:50:51.079
Myrtle Beach is a very, very very red pro Trump county.
949
00:50:51.400 --> 00:50:54.360
But there's also Russell Fry who jumped into this, who
950
00:50:54.400 --> 00:50:56.400
was running for the House seat and the Senate at
951
00:50:56.400 --> 00:50:58.679
the same time and lost in the Senate race.
952
00:50:59.000 --> 00:51:00.639
And I'm wondering if he's going to be.
953
00:51:00.639 --> 00:51:03.719
Brought out because the people of Oree County, South Carolina,
954
00:51:03.920 --> 00:51:04.639
are a little.
955
00:51:04.519 --> 00:51:08.960
Mythed that he put the House seat in what could.
956
00:51:08.719 --> 00:51:11.719
Be a Democrat could take it over, because he let
957
00:51:11.760 --> 00:51:13.679
it sit while he ran for Senate and lost.
958
00:51:14.039 --> 00:51:15.880
There's a whole lot of different.
959
00:51:16.199 --> 00:51:19.280
Dramas playing out here tonight, not to mention a severe
960
00:51:19.320 --> 00:51:22.559
thunderstorm that is hitting Martle Beach right now, and so
961
00:51:22.679 --> 00:51:27.079
when this happens and tonight's rally, I'm Barry. I'm calling
962
00:51:27.519 --> 00:51:30.639
Ralph Norman by five points. I just don't see it.
963
00:51:30.960 --> 00:51:33.760
And I know that the South Carolina people, although we
964
00:51:33.800 --> 00:51:37.119
respect Donald Trump and we love President Trump, this is
965
00:51:37.159 --> 00:51:40.239
South Carolina. We'll make our own decisions, thank you very much, sir.
966
00:51:40.440 --> 00:51:43.000
Yeah, and look and look, I do support the President,
967
00:51:43.000 --> 00:51:45.880
and I appreciate his endorsements. The President, And just to
968
00:51:45.880 --> 00:51:48.519
be clear, the President has his own reasons for endorsing
969
00:51:48.559 --> 00:51:50.039
It doesn't mean that Norman's not going to make a
970
00:51:50.039 --> 00:51:52.840
great senator. The President has his own reasons for endorsing
971
00:51:52.840 --> 00:51:54.599
who he endorses, and he has to, at the end
972
00:51:54.639 --> 00:51:56.760
of the day, factor in a lot of different things.
973
00:51:56.760 --> 00:51:59.719
So it's not disrespectful to not support the person in
974
00:51:59.760 --> 00:52:01.840
this race that the President might not be supporting. I
975
00:52:01.840 --> 00:52:04.480
think Norman's a patriot, and Norman's been endorsed by the
976
00:52:04.519 --> 00:52:07.239
way for the House, so it's not like he doesn't carry.
977
00:52:07.000 --> 00:52:08.079
Trump's seal of approval.
978
00:52:08.119 --> 00:52:11.079
So I think, look, South Carolina has a lot of
979
00:52:11.079 --> 00:52:13.800
good options, you know, I think it's obvious where you
980
00:52:13.840 --> 00:52:15.480
fall on this one. And I guess we'll see what
981
00:52:15.519 --> 00:52:17.480
happens on Tuesday. Chad stay fired up.
982
00:52:18.320 --> 00:52:19.800
Yeah, go ahead, it's early important.
983
00:52:21.960 --> 00:52:25.760
I'm actually helping the president out because Ralph Norman is
984
00:52:25.840 --> 00:52:29.800
the number one conservative voting elected official in the state.
985
00:52:30.199 --> 00:52:33.119
He is voted at ninety three percent with Donald Trump
986
00:52:33.400 --> 00:52:36.840
in all of his administration. Tim Scott can't even say
987
00:52:36.880 --> 00:52:39.920
that you're welcome, mister President, and the people of South
988
00:52:39.960 --> 00:52:41.519
carolinaa said you a fighter.
989
00:52:42.320 --> 00:52:45.639
Well, we'll see what happens on Tuesday. Jack Gayton Fired
990
00:52:45.719 --> 00:52:47.559
Up Fridays. Always love seeing you here. Brother.
991
00:52:47.599 --> 00:52:52.000
I'll talk to you next week. Ruh, Ralph, that's our
992
00:52:52.039 --> 00:52:52.760
show for tonight.
993
00:52:52.800 --> 00:52:53.440
Before we go.
994
00:52:53.760 --> 00:52:55.719
It's the weekend, so I thought i'd leave you with something.
995
00:52:55.800 --> 00:52:57.360
Let's just call it weird.
996
00:52:58.199 --> 00:52:59.159
Don't be weird?
997
00:53:02.239 --> 00:53:04.199
Good, pretty, pretty good.
998
00:53:04.480 --> 00:53:08.360
And this bloating is before even the trigger shot.
999
00:53:08.760 --> 00:53:09.440
Don't be weird.
