ÜBER DIESE EPISODE
While D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event brought a wave of massive park announcements, the bigger story lies in the cultural and strategic direction of The Walt Disney Company. On this episode of Daps Magic – Disney and Positive Stuff, Mr. Daps takes a step back to analyze the overarching themes driving Disney’s new era under CEO Josh D'Amaro and Disney Experiences Chairman Thomas Mazloum.
Rather than just focusing on individual project details, this deep-dive exploration breaks down how leadership is shifting, how fan relationships are evolving, and what it truly means for the future of Disney storytelling.
Key Topics Covered:
Leadership Transition & Culture Shift: Examining the passing of the torch from the Bob Iger era and how Josh D'Amaro is shaping a new company-wide culture.
Building Credibility with Fans: A look at the "three-spoked wheel" of trust—linking past accomplishments, current progress reports, and future promises (from Tomorrowland updates to Figment and Dreamfinder).
Investing in a Healthy Fan Relationship: How Disney is listening to guest feedback (praise and criticism), honoring legacy, and prioritizing long-term trust over quick sales.
Immersion & Narrative Scale: Moving beyond traditional dark rides toward fully realized narrative environments like Villains Land and Tropical Americas.
The "One Disney" Synergy Model: Breaking down how Disney is connecting streaming, video games (Epic Games), consumer products, and theme parks into a unified ecosystem.
