Tonight on the Average Intelligence Podcast, we’re talking about two very different stories that somehow ended up sharing the same episode.

First, we pay tribute to the passing of the American dub voice actor behind Master Roshi, one of the most recognizable characters in Dragon Ball. We look back at the character, the voice performance, and why that version of Roshi became so memorable to an entire generation of fans.

Then we shift gears into Flock Safety cameras — the automated license plate reader network showing up in communities across the country. What exactly do these cameras collect? How are they being used by law enforcement? And at what point does public safety start raising legitimate questions about privacy and surveillance?

Somehow, Master Roshi in bright red sunglasses became the perfect mascot for the conversation.
