OM DENNE EPISODE
Stephanie Walsh, MD, is a pediatrician board certified in obesity medicine, and she has spent more than twenty years working with kids and families around weight. In this first episode she explains why she made this show: there are a lot of myths and misconceptions about pediatric obesity, and not much of the actual evidence reaches the families who need it.
She talks about hunger and what doctors mean by food noise, why fear and blame don't produce lasting change, and what a family should be getting from the people helping them. Underneath all of it is the thing she wants parents to hear first — the shame that comes with this isn't warranted, and it never was.
