134: Wait Magic Explained: How to Use Thrill Data Wait Magic for Disney World Lightning Lane Multi Pass

WEBVTT
00:00:00.239 --> 00:00:02.799
This is the podcast you have been waiting for.
00:00:02.959 --> 00:00:06.480
We are officially diving into weight magic.
00:00:06.639 --> 00:00:18.960
I am going to tell you how to use the app, what strategies to use, what I liked about it, what I didn't like about it, and I am going to give you your walkthrough on how to use it.
00:00:19.120 --> 00:00:21.600
Now, do I think that weight magic is for everyone?
00:00:21.839 --> 00:00:22.160
No.
00:00:22.399 --> 00:00:26.079
Do I think that weight magic is a complete game changer?
00:00:26.399 --> 00:00:27.760
Absolutely.
00:00:28.719 --> 00:00:40.320
Welcome to Well, Hello Magic, the podcast for Disney lovers, busy parents, and anyone who wants a little more magic in everyday life.
00:00:40.479 --> 00:00:46.960
From the best tips for families to solo travelers going to Disney to real life moments.
00:00:47.439 --> 00:00:49.200
You're in the right place.
00:00:49.439 --> 00:00:52.240
Now, here's your host, Jessica.
00:00:57.119 --> 00:01:07.760
Okay, so before we get into all the different ways you can use weight magic, we need to start with the basics because I know some of you are probably listening to this thinking, Jessica, what in the world is weight magic?
00:01:08.000 --> 00:01:11.599
Weight magic is a third-party tool created by thrill data.
00:01:11.680 --> 00:01:27.519
And if you're familiar with thrill data, you already know that I use them for tracking things like Disney weight times, lightning lane availability, crowd data, and all of those little numbers that Disney people like me can spend way too much time looking at.
00:01:27.760 --> 00:01:40.640
This is one of the three crowd calendars that I tell you to look at because this one is looking at the actual weights in the park, which help you get a more well-rounded perspective of what crowds look like.
00:01:40.799 --> 00:01:48.879
But weight magic takes this information and turns it into something that you can actually use to help you manage your lightning lanes.
00:01:49.120 --> 00:01:54.000
And the first thing I wanted to make very clear is weight magic is not a Disney product.
00:01:54.079 --> 00:02:01.359
This is not something you're gonna find inside My Disney experience, and it's not something that comes with Lightning Lane multipass.
00:02:01.439 --> 00:02:05.280
It is completely separate, it is a third-party service.
00:02:05.359 --> 00:02:10.560
So it actually has nothing to do with Walt Disney World, the Disney company.
00:02:10.719 --> 00:02:16.639
This is created by Thrill Data, which is something completely outside of the realm of Disney.
00:02:16.800 --> 00:02:20.240
The easiest way for me to explain weight magic is this.
00:02:20.479 --> 00:02:32.400
Instead of sitting on your phone refreshing my Disney experience over and over again, looking for better lightning lane times, weight magic essentially does the searching for you and also the modifying for you.
00:02:32.639 --> 00:02:37.439
I know a lot of you have been here and heard me talk about Standby Skipper over the years.
00:02:37.680 --> 00:02:43.280
Weight Magic is a different project product that does a few things differently.
00:02:43.520 --> 00:02:48.240
Some things better and then some things just the same as Standby Skipper.
00:02:48.400 --> 00:02:55.520
I will be honest, I was using both of the products to test them out at the same time after I had given Weight Magic a chance.
00:02:55.680 --> 00:03:00.240
And some of the more popular rides Standby Skipper got, and then some of the rides Weight Magic got.
00:03:00.400 --> 00:03:02.879
So I think they are essentially doing the same thing.
00:03:03.039 --> 00:03:04.960
It's just kind of the luck of the draw.
00:03:05.120 --> 00:03:10.879
It's the same way that I use a bunch of different dining alerts to be able to get the reservations I want.
00:03:11.199 --> 00:03:16.960
Using Standby Skipper and Weight Magic at the same time, almost guaranteed that we were always able to get on a ride.
00:03:17.120 --> 00:03:25.520
I know not everyone wants to spend the money on two different apps, but hopefully this podcast will help you differentiate what weight magic can do for you.
00:03:25.680 --> 00:03:31.599
And then you already know standby skipper's out there, and I have lots of stuff on that, and you can decide.
00:03:31.759 --> 00:03:35.919
So let's say you have a lightning lane for an attraction at 6 p at 6 p.m.
00:03:36.080 --> 00:03:38.800
at night, but you really want to write it earlier in the day.
00:03:39.039 --> 00:03:51.599
Normally you would go into my Disney experience, keep hitting that modify button, checking the times, refreshing, checking again, refreshing again, and hoping that somebody changes their plans and an earlier time pops up for you.
00:03:51.759 --> 00:03:54.000
And listen, I have absolutely done that.
00:03:54.159 --> 00:03:55.280
I do that all the time.
00:03:55.360 --> 00:04:10.560
I'm not always using standby skipper or weight magic, but I also don't necessarily want to spend the entire Disney vacation on my phone, or if we have a lot of people with us, or even when I just have my kids, it's easy for me to get distracted and forget to go back and check.
00:04:10.719 --> 00:04:13.840
So that's where things like weight magic comes in.
00:04:14.080 --> 00:04:20.160
You basically tell weight magic that you're looking for a specific ride during a specific window.
00:04:20.399 --> 00:04:23.920
Maybe you want an attraction that has also been sold out.
00:04:24.160 --> 00:04:30.079
Maybe you were wanting to move something up, like the example I gave where you don't want to stay at the park till 7 p.m.
00:04:30.240 --> 00:04:32.959
and you want to get on this ride earlier.
00:04:33.199 --> 00:04:41.120
This is where you would set up a request in Weight Magic and it would continue searching for availability in the background.
00:04:41.279 --> 00:04:46.879
And I think it's really important to understand weight magic doesn't have a secret stash of lightning lanes.
00:04:47.120 --> 00:04:53.759
It is literally using some kind of computing to constantly check for openings in the park.
00:04:54.000 --> 00:05:00.319
So there will be some days where it is just so packed and so busy and everyone is losing lightning lane.
00:05:00.399 --> 00:05:08.319
These are the days where lightning lane usually sells out that it may not necessarily get something just because the parks are at pool capacity.
00:05:08.560 --> 00:05:12.959
It doesn't have access to lightning lane reservations that the rest of us can't see.
00:05:13.120 --> 00:05:20.480
So if Slinky Dog is completely unavailable, Weight Magic doesn't manufacture like a Slinky Dog Lightning Lane.
00:05:20.560 --> 00:05:30.560
It's basically waiting for either the little drops that happen during the day if the ride is running really smooth, or if someone cancels their plan and there is an opening.
00:05:30.720 --> 00:05:33.680
So it basically is doing the watching for you.
00:05:33.920 --> 00:05:37.439
Disney availability changes constantly during the day.
00:05:37.600 --> 00:05:42.800
Like I said, some days the rides are running really smooth, and so they drop to more availability.
00:05:42.959 --> 00:05:49.839
Sometimes somebody cancels or someone modifies, and then there are more lightning lanes available.
00:05:50.079 --> 00:05:54.480
And instead of you having to capture that weight magic thing.
00:05:54.560 --> 00:06:05.680
So I don't want you to think of weight magic like a Disney hack, because it's not a hack, it's more of an assistant that's helping you with Lightning Lane.
00:06:05.920 --> 00:06:17.920
And then one more thing before we dive in deep because weight magic is a third-party service, you have to connect it to your Disney plans in order to actually have it manage lightning lanes for your party.
00:06:18.079 --> 00:06:21.360
That connection happens through Disney's friends and family system.
00:06:21.759 --> 00:06:30.319
When you set everything up, weight magic gives you instructions for connecting the profile that you'll need in your My Disney experience account.
00:06:30.560 --> 00:06:37.680
I know the second I say that out loud, it sounds like wait, you're connecting what to my what.
00:06:38.000 --> 00:06:41.680
And we will go in and explain everything in detail.
00:06:42.240 --> 00:06:50.240
I'm gonna walk you through exactly how you set it up, what you're connecting to, and what weight magic can and cannot do once it's connected.
00:06:50.399 --> 00:06:55.920
But before we even get there, I want you to understand this very basic concept about weight magic.
00:06:56.160 --> 00:07:03.519
Weight magic is essentially a tool that helps you automate the process of searching for and managing lightning lane availability.
00:07:03.680 --> 00:07:09.920
So you don't have to spend your day refreshing on your phone or constantly looking at it.
00:07:10.079 --> 00:07:17.120
And once you understand that, everything else that I talk about in this episode will make a whole lot of sense.
00:07:17.360 --> 00:07:23.360
Before we can even start talking about weight magic, I need you to understand the basic principles of Lightning Lane.
00:07:23.439 --> 00:07:28.160
I do have a video on YouTube that is the 2025 Lightning Lane video.
00:07:28.240 --> 00:07:29.439
Not very much has changed.
00:07:29.519 --> 00:07:35.759
That video is still relevant, so it's hard for me to go and make a new one when everything is pretty much still the same.
00:07:36.000 --> 00:07:45.199
But go on to my YouTube channel and watch the Lightning Lane video breakdowns because I break it down to the rudimentary level so that everyone can understand.
00:07:45.439 --> 00:07:50.720
Unlike Standby Skipper, I don't feel like weight magic is user-friendly.
00:07:50.959 --> 00:08:02.240
And so if you do not have basic knowledge of Lightning Lane, you are not going to be able to understand using weight magic and it may cause more frustration.
00:08:02.399 --> 00:08:05.759
So I always say weight magic is for the more advanced user.
00:08:05.920 --> 00:08:13.680
So if you've been to Disney, you know, more than once, but if you're a newbie, you may want to stick with Standby Skipper because it's more user-friendly.
00:08:14.000 --> 00:08:15.519
The app is more user-friendly.
00:08:15.600 --> 00:08:18.800
There aren't a bunch of ads and all of that stuff.
00:08:19.120 --> 00:08:32.960
But if you have been to Disney, you understand Lightning Lane, and you really want to maximize your ride availability and being able to modify and manipulate your ride times, then weight magic is where you can land.
00:08:33.360 --> 00:08:46.080
Okay, so now that you know what make weight magic is and you know what I think you need to be able to successfully maneuver it, we're gonna talk about setting it.
00:08:46.240 --> 00:08:49.440
I'm gonna pre-warn you this podcast is gonna be probably pretty long.
00:08:49.519 --> 00:08:55.039
It's gonna be very detailed because I know I won't have the opportunity to make a YouTube video about this.
00:08:55.200 --> 00:09:03.919
So basically, the podcast and the blog is going to be as detailed information as you're gonna get about weight magic.
00:09:04.080 --> 00:09:16.559
And so it will be very detailed because I want you to feel confident after listening to this podcast and then reading the blogs, and I'll put pictures on the blogs with examples of how to use it.
00:09:16.639 --> 00:09:21.279
And then at the end of this, I'll give you some strategy that worked for my family.
00:09:21.519 --> 00:09:26.080
So for me, the easiest place to start with Weight Magic is actually on a desktop.
00:09:26.240 --> 00:09:40.080
I wish I could tell you that you could start it on the phone, but I think it makes it less complex for you if you actually go on your computer and start there when you're initially setting it up.
00:09:40.399 --> 00:09:44.320
The website is thrill-data.com.
00:09:44.480 --> 00:09:50.240
Now, if you Google weight magic, thrill data will come up, but this is the website where you need to start.
00:09:50.399 --> 00:09:54.720
They just revamped it, so it's all cool and modern and dark right now.
00:09:54.879 --> 00:09:58.720
But you're gonna start here and you're going to sign up.
00:09:59.039 --> 00:10:02.240
When you hit that sign up, it's on the upper right side.
00:10:02.480 --> 00:10:05.200
You are going to create an account there.
00:10:05.840 --> 00:10:21.440
Once you've created an account, you will have access now to a deeper dive into all of their information when it comes to wait times at all the theme parks because they track a lot more than Walt Disney World.
00:10:21.600 --> 00:10:28.159
They track basically like all the US parks, but you'll always see the big ones in the front.
00:10:28.240 --> 00:10:36.960
So, like Epic Universe, Hollywood Studio, Cedar Point, Epcot, Islands of Adventure, and Magic Kingdom are the things that I see on my screen right now.
00:10:37.120 --> 00:10:50.799
Also, feel free to walk through this with me because I'm actually at my computer and I will be walking through this as I'm doing the podcast so I can tell you step by step how I'm doing this.
00:10:51.120 --> 00:10:58.720
Once you've created an account, what will pop up is Thrill Data Plus, which is the membership for their site.
00:10:58.879 --> 00:11:01.279
It covers a whole array of tools.
00:11:01.519 --> 00:11:09.039
Most of these are not necessarily useful for the one-time goer to Walt Disney World or the casual user.
00:11:09.279 --> 00:11:23.279
For people like me who are data nerds and like to keep up with all of this stuff, it does help us because we get a little in-depth look more on wait times and lightning lane availability and when they sold out on specific days.
00:11:23.519 --> 00:11:26.159
And that kind of stuff helps me to create content.
00:11:26.320 --> 00:11:31.120
Now, for you, you may not really care about all of this information.
00:11:31.600 --> 00:11:33.360
It also removes the ads.
00:11:33.440 --> 00:11:36.720
And I will say, Thrill Data has a lot of ads.
00:11:36.960 --> 00:11:43.759
I understand it as someone who has a blog, and when you are monetized, the ads bring you revenue.
00:11:44.080 --> 00:11:48.320
But I feel like sometimes their stuff is overloaded with ads.
00:11:48.480 --> 00:11:54.000
So for me, it's enough to pay to get the ads off, but you also want access to weight magic.
00:11:54.159 --> 00:12:06.480
Now, what's different is that this is a membership, so that's interesting, versus just like paying for the service of Weight Magic, the way maybe other skip the line apps work.
00:12:06.720 --> 00:12:19.360
So you have two days for$25, a week for$30, 10 days for$35, monthly at$45, yearly at$75, which is what I did, and then live time at$300.
00:12:20.320 --> 00:12:23.679
I suggest if you need to cover your trip.
00:12:23.759 --> 00:12:26.320
So if you're there for a week, get a week.
00:12:26.480 --> 00:12:30.000
If you're there for longer than a week in 10 days, get 10 days.
00:12:30.159 --> 00:12:42.080
Just get enough to cover the whole time because what always happens is when it works and you finally understand how to utilize a service like this, you're going to use it all the days you have it available to you.
00:12:42.240 --> 00:12:44.639
So just buy what you need.
00:12:44.879 --> 00:12:59.200
Make sure you don't have the auto renew on so it doesn't charge you again afterwards, or just be mindful of the day that you need to cancel it because you can cancel it if you need to.
00:12:59.279 --> 00:13:02.240
And again, if you have the auto renew off, it's just over.
00:13:02.399 --> 00:13:03.440
There's no issues.
00:13:03.600 --> 00:13:10.960
Now they do also have an email address where they are very responsive and a Facebook group where they are very responsive if you need help.
00:13:11.120 --> 00:13:16.240
So make sure you're also in those things as you are planning this trip.
00:13:16.480 --> 00:13:21.039
But go ahead and select your weekly or 10 days, whatever you need.
00:13:21.200 --> 00:13:25.679
But only do this if you're about to actively go on the trip.
00:13:26.480 --> 00:13:33.039
So now that you have your membership, it is time to connect weight magic to my Disney experience.
00:13:33.279 --> 00:13:40.559
And I know this is probably the part where some of you are like, wait, Jessica, I'm not, why am I connecting this to my Disney account?
00:13:40.720 --> 00:13:42.240
So I'm gonna walk through this.
00:13:42.480 --> 00:13:47.360
First, you're not giving Thrill Data your My Disney experience username or password.
00:13:47.440 --> 00:13:50.720
You're not handing over any of your Disney login information.
00:13:50.960 --> 00:13:55.600
Instead, weight magic connects through Disney's friends and family system.
00:13:56.000 --> 00:14:02.639
If you've traveled to Walt Disney World with other people before, you've probably used friends and family without even thinking about it.
00:14:02.879 --> 00:14:10.159
This is what allows someone in your party to see your plans and make modifications for you and also make plans for you.
00:14:10.320 --> 00:14:12.960
It's basically that linking system that we use.
00:14:13.279 --> 00:14:17.360
Weight Magic is essentially using that exact same system.
00:14:17.840 --> 00:14:21.600
That way it can book these rides for you.
00:14:22.080 --> 00:14:31.519
So once you have logged in your into Thrill Data on my computer, you are going to go to MDX Connector.
00:14:31.759 --> 00:14:35.200
MDX is just referring to my Disney experience.
00:14:35.360 --> 00:14:40.399
Thrill Data is gonna give me a weight magic profile that I need to connect to.
00:14:40.639 --> 00:14:43.120
The name is Nicole Goodman.
00:14:43.200 --> 00:14:49.519
So when you see that name pop up, you are going to connect to her.
00:14:49.840 --> 00:14:51.600
There is an important distinction.
00:14:51.759 --> 00:14:55.519
You're not logging in to Disney through Thrill Data.
00:14:55.679 --> 00:15:01.759
You're basically adding weight magic as a friend to have permission to interact with your plant.
00:15:01.919 --> 00:15:08.399
Once that connection is made, weight magic needs to be able to see the people that they're actually going to be booking lightning lanes for.
00:15:08.559 --> 00:15:12.720
So let's say I'm going with just my husband and the four kids.
00:15:12.879 --> 00:15:16.320
It isn't enough for Weight Magic only to see my account.
00:15:16.559 --> 00:15:18.399
It needs to be connected to everyone.
00:15:18.559 --> 00:15:22.480
So I manage some of the kids and my husband manages some of the kids.
00:15:22.639 --> 00:15:31.919
So I need to make sure that all of the members in my travel party are connected to Wait Magic and it has permission to view and manage the plans.
00:15:32.159 --> 00:15:44.960
This is especially important with children or anyone else that you manage a Disney profile for because those profiles will work a little differently than the adult ones where everyone will have to accept on their own.
00:15:45.200 --> 00:15:49.840
You will go in and accept on behalf of the people you manage.
00:15:50.080 --> 00:16:00.240
Once everyone is connected, you can go back to Thrill Data and you can actually see who is connected to Weight Magic on this page.
00:16:00.399 --> 00:16:11.039
And so it will say, you know, under the linked guest, like I look at it now, and it has my husband, me, and all four of my kids under linked guest.
00:16:11.200 --> 00:16:14.080
That's how you know that they are properly linked.
00:16:14.240 --> 00:16:20.799
So here comes the next part on why I want you to do this on a desktop versus a computer.
00:16:21.120 --> 00:16:28.080
So you may have to do some of the linking like through your app, your My Disney Experience app, because that is a little bit easier sometimes.
00:16:28.240 --> 00:16:32.159
But once your party is linked, you can see everyone under linked guests.
00:16:32.320 --> 00:16:34.799
You're going to go over to parties.
00:16:34.960 --> 00:16:37.919
So parties is where you're creating groups.
00:16:38.080 --> 00:16:46.720
So unlike other apps where you can just click the people who want to ride a specific ride with Thrill Data, you have to make these groups.
00:16:47.039 --> 00:17:00.080
So I went ahead and pre-made them on my desktop because it's a lot easier to see on your desktop than it is trying to make these groups in your phone on the flyer in the moment.
00:17:00.320 --> 00:17:06.799
So for my family, I have a group of six, which I just have listed as Mickelson family.
00:17:06.960 --> 00:17:11.440
Then I have the coaster crew because only four of us like to ride roller coasters.
00:17:11.599 --> 00:17:20.720
Then I have the girls, then I have the boys, and then I have non-coaster duo, which is my oldest, the 14-year-old, and my youngest, the six-year-old.
00:17:20.880 --> 00:17:22.160
They don't like to ride coasters.
00:17:22.240 --> 00:17:27.200
So that way I can book them rides while the coaster crew is off riding rides.
00:17:27.279 --> 00:17:29.839
Sometimes the girls go off, sometimes the boys go off.
00:17:30.079 --> 00:17:34.880
But these are typically our five groupings that we have.
00:17:35.200 --> 00:17:40.240
So what you need to decide is what are typically the groupings that you have with your family?
00:17:40.480 --> 00:17:42.480
Because it's easier to set this up.
00:17:42.640 --> 00:17:49.039
If you're lucky, you have a family of four, everyone likes to do everything together, then you have one group, just your family name.
00:17:49.279 --> 00:17:56.240
If you have mixed-age kids, if you have younger kids that don't ride certain rides, then you'll need multiple groups.
00:17:56.319 --> 00:18:08.240
And I'm telling you, it's a lot easier just to kind of brainstorm these groups before you get to the park because it is annoying on the web page to make these.
00:18:08.400 --> 00:18:10.720
Now there is an app, we'll talk a little bit about that.
00:18:10.799 --> 00:18:23.200
It's still in beta testing right now, but most of the time I am using their web page on my uh phone, and it's harder to see.
00:18:23.279 --> 00:18:28.480
So go ahead and set up those groups under parties so you have that all done.
00:18:28.720 --> 00:18:34.480
So now that we have our group set, you've paid for the membership, we're ready to start using this.
00:18:34.720 --> 00:18:38.880
You may be wondering when do you set up your Thrill Data account?
00:18:38.960 --> 00:18:40.319
When do you set up all of this stuff?
00:18:40.480 --> 00:18:42.400
And this is before your trip.
00:18:42.559 --> 00:18:46.319
So Thrill Data works well before your trip.
00:18:46.480 --> 00:18:53.039
So while you have to do Lightning Link seven days out, I say get all of this set up 10 days before your trip.
00:18:53.200 --> 00:18:59.119
That way you can mess around with it for three days, making sure everything is linked properly.
00:18:59.440 --> 00:19:06.880
They also do have an app, and the app is actually great, but it's in beta testing.
00:19:07.039 --> 00:19:13.920
So the way that you're going to get access to the app is you're going to log on to Thrill Data on your phone.
00:19:14.160 --> 00:19:21.440
When you log on on your phone, you'll see a bar that says something like download the app or install the app.
00:19:21.680 --> 00:19:25.440
It's going to take you to this thing called test flight.
00:19:25.759 --> 00:19:30.640
Test flight is where like beta apps can live in, so you can test it.
00:19:30.880 --> 00:19:40.160
Then when you click on when after you've downloaded test flight, you go back to that link, click on it again, and thrill data will come up.
00:19:40.480 --> 00:19:46.240
And when you look at this app, it is very clean, it's very easy to maneuver and use.
00:19:46.319 --> 00:19:50.720
And the great thing is, once you log in, all of your information is there.
00:19:50.799 --> 00:19:56.000
So, like as I'm looking at the app right now, all of my parties are listed in there.
00:19:56.160 --> 00:19:58.720
All of the people I'm connected to are listed.
00:19:58.880 --> 00:20:03.200
Right now, I don't have any plans, but it's all in there.
00:20:03.440 --> 00:20:07.200
And it also still has the other stuff from the Thrill Data website.
00:20:07.359 --> 00:20:16.400
So it has alerts, dining alerts that you can set up, which I've not tested the dining alert, so I don't know how well it does, but I will on our upcoming trips.
00:20:16.640 --> 00:20:22.720
Then it has all the information about lightning lane data for Disney World and Disneyland.
00:20:23.039 --> 00:20:28.640
You can see all the theme parks that are being tracked, and then there's a trip planner in here.
00:20:28.720 --> 00:20:32.000
But of course, weight magic is what we are going for.
00:20:32.240 --> 00:20:36.000
And at the top, you can see in the app it says new search.
00:20:36.160 --> 00:20:45.599
So I'm gonna bounce back and forth between describing how to use the app and also setting it up on your phone through Safari if you don't want to download the app.
00:20:45.759 --> 00:20:52.880
But again, the hope is the app will be live here by the end of the month.
00:20:53.200 --> 00:21:00.000
If you're listening to this, I should tell you, if you're listening to this on October 7th when this dropped, it's hopefully it'll be live at the end of the month.
00:21:00.079 --> 00:21:06.559
If you're listening to this after, you know, October 2026, then it's live.
00:21:07.039 --> 00:21:11.119
So at this point, I'm assuming that you have already done the work.
00:21:11.359 --> 00:21:18.079
You have looked at my Lightning Lane video, you have read about Lightning Lane, you have printed the sheets.
00:21:18.240 --> 00:21:24.799
I have free sheets that help you sit down and plan out your Lightning Lane goals for the day.
00:21:24.960 --> 00:21:37.359
You understand what are the most popular rides, you understand what sells out, and you also understand that you are basing your selections on what your family wants to do at the theme park.
00:21:37.680 --> 00:21:52.240
If you are someone who is staying at a Disney resort collection hotel, you know that you have a seven day advantage in booking your lightning lanes, and you can book for your entire trip up to 14 days.
00:21:52.400 --> 00:21:57.759
If you're lucky enough to stay longer than 14 days, that's wonderful, but you'll have another booking window.
00:21:58.000 --> 00:21:59.599
But at this point, you understand.
00:22:00.480 --> 00:22:02.480
Okay, this is what I have to do to book.
00:22:02.640 --> 00:22:20.480
If you are off Disney property, which 60% of people who go to Walt Disney World actually stay off property, which is wild to think because I feel like sometimes the resorts are so sold out, and just knowing that that's only 40% of the people who go to the park is wild.
00:22:20.640 --> 00:22:27.680
But if you are off property, you know that you can book Lightning Lane three days in advance, but you are doing it every day.
00:22:27.839 --> 00:22:33.519
So there is a little disadvantage with staying off property that you don't get staying on property.
00:22:33.599 --> 00:22:38.160
So things like weight magic will really be useful and helpful to you.
00:22:38.319 --> 00:22:41.119
But I am assuming that you have done this work.
00:22:41.440 --> 00:22:49.680
So when I'm gonna start talking about how to set things up in the app and when to set things up, I am assuming you know how to do this.
00:22:49.839 --> 00:22:53.279
If you do not know how to do this, stop this podcast.
00:22:53.440 --> 00:23:01.279
I'm just shy of 23 minutes and you need to go and read my blogs or just watch that one hour Lightning Lane video.
00:23:01.440 --> 00:23:14.640
And I'm telling you, once you've done that, you will fully understand Lightning Lane and then come back to this podcast and you want to start it at 23 minutes and pick up where you left off.
00:23:15.200 --> 00:23:20.799
So the first thing you're gonna do is you're going to take your phone and you are going to open your app.
00:23:20.960 --> 00:23:28.799
So right now in beta testing, you're going to click test flight, and then you're going to open the Thrill Data app.
00:23:28.960 --> 00:23:32.400
The hope is that when this is released, you won't have to do that.
00:23:32.640 --> 00:23:43.599
You're on the interface, you've already paid for the membership, you have all your groups linked, and you have all the fun stuff that's available to you in this app, which I will say the setup of the app is wonderful.
00:23:43.759 --> 00:23:47.200
It looks great, it looks very user-friendly and easy to use.
00:23:47.440 --> 00:23:52.160
What you care about is the weight magic that is on the far right on the bottom.
00:23:52.400 --> 00:23:54.559
Now, when are you going to set this up?
00:23:54.880 --> 00:24:00.799
You have now booked your lightning lanes and you got the times that you got.
00:24:16.480 --> 00:24:24.559
So if you are lucky and you were able to overlap that last 20 minutes of a reservation, your times are close together.
00:24:24.799 --> 00:24:33.519
Or if let's say you're at Epcot and you know your tier one for you there is Rummy and you're gonna get that, but put it later in the day.
00:24:33.680 --> 00:24:41.200
And then you're gonna get two tier twos that are rides that are over by like test track and frozen.
00:24:41.279 --> 00:24:52.319
So maybe you put like mission space as your very first lightning lane ride because you're hoping to rope drop test track or frozen, and that's what you're using as a burner ride.
00:24:52.640 --> 00:24:55.599
That may be scheduled, you know, right when the park opens.
00:24:55.680 --> 00:25:00.160
It just depends on whatever strategy that you've decided to use that day.
00:25:00.319 --> 00:25:15.599
But let's say, for instance, you know, that was my strategy was I was gonna book Remy later in the day because I want to rope drop frozen or test track, which are both tier twos, but I paid for guardians to be in the morning because I want to be over on that side of the park.
00:25:15.839 --> 00:25:24.079
And I got mission space, but maybe I got it like at 10, knowing that the park opens at nine, and I just couldn't get that spot.
00:25:24.240 --> 00:25:30.160
I could go in and start a new search before I even get to Disney World.
00:25:30.319 --> 00:25:32.480
And so I would click the new search button.
00:25:32.559 --> 00:25:36.400
I'm gonna pick Mickelson family because I want the entire group.
00:25:36.640 --> 00:25:38.640
Then it says attraction selection.
00:25:38.799 --> 00:25:43.200
This is where you can click on any of the four parks that are there.
00:25:43.359 --> 00:25:50.240
So I'm gonna click on Epcot, and you just want to make sure your date is on the right date.
00:25:50.400 --> 00:25:58.799
So it goes visit date, party selection, attraction selection, and I'm gonna go down to mission space and I'm gonna click that.
00:25:59.119 --> 00:26:03.680
Then it's going to ask, do you already have a lightning lane book for this?
00:26:03.759 --> 00:26:05.759
And you're gonna click yes.
00:26:06.640 --> 00:26:11.119
Then you are gonna be asked modify or attraction swap.
00:26:11.279 --> 00:26:14.160
And I'm gonna say, I want to modify this booking.
00:26:14.400 --> 00:26:19.519
Then comes what do you do after a successful change?
00:26:19.680 --> 00:26:27.519
Do you want it to keep searching, to keep modifying until it gets a higher time, or do you want it to pause?
00:26:27.680 --> 00:26:38.319
Now, this is very important because what I found, even with me who is like an expert at Lightning Lane, I would forget to turn off the continue modifying.
00:26:38.480 --> 00:26:45.759
So this is a great change where it's asking you what you should do after success because it will keep modifying.
00:26:45.839 --> 00:26:53.039
And sometimes it modified a ride so early that it kind of ruined my plan for the day, and we had to go over there.
00:26:53.920 --> 00:26:57.119
Then it comes down to target return time.
00:26:57.279 --> 00:27:07.119
You can do earliest time available anytime within the next hour, morning, which is 7 to 11:59 a.m.
00:27:07.519 --> 00:27:09.759
Early morning, which is 8 a.m.
00:27:10.000 --> 00:27:11.519
to 9.59 a.m.
00:27:12.000 --> 00:27:13.920
Late morning, which is 10 a.m.
00:27:14.160 --> 00:27:18.160
to 11:59, afternoon, which is 12 p.m.
00:27:18.480 --> 00:27:20.079
to 4.59 p.m.
00:27:20.559 --> 00:27:22.799
Early afternoon, which is 12 p.m.
00:27:23.119 --> 00:27:24.799
to 1.59 p.m.
00:27:25.359 --> 00:27:28.400
Late afternoon, which is 2 p.m.
00:27:28.720 --> 00:27:30.720
to 4.59 p.m.
00:27:31.200 --> 00:27:33.359
Evening, which is 5 p.m.
00:27:33.519 --> 00:27:35.359
to 11.59 p.m.
00:27:35.759 --> 00:27:37.759
Early evening, which is 5 p.m.
00:27:37.920 --> 00:27:39.440
to 7.59 p.m.
00:27:39.759 --> 00:27:42.559
And then late evening, which is 8 p.m.
00:27:42.720 --> 00:27:44.160
to 11.59.
00:27:44.640 --> 00:27:48.559
Then you have the choice of picking specific times.
00:27:49.680 --> 00:27:50.720
It this is a lot.
00:27:50.799 --> 00:27:52.480
This is a lot of choices.
00:27:52.720 --> 00:28:03.359
Then there is a tab that says only earlier than, and you can put only earlier than 9 a.m., only earlier than 9.30, and it goes through all of those choices.
00:28:03.599 --> 00:28:05.440
Then there's only after.
00:28:05.599 --> 00:28:08.400
So you can say, I only want it after this.
00:28:08.640 --> 00:28:14.480
And then there's another button next to it that says custom range, and you can just set the range.
00:28:14.799 --> 00:28:26.400
This is great that there are so many options, but if you can only imagine someone who is coming to Walt Disney World for the first time and seeing all of these options, this is overwhelming.
00:28:26.559 --> 00:28:27.359
It's too much.
00:28:27.440 --> 00:28:34.079
And that is why I say weight magic sometimes is so complicated or it gives you so many options.
00:28:34.160 --> 00:28:43.759
I shouldn't say it's complicated because the app actually makes it so much easier than the website, which is why, you know, I'm talking about the app first and then I'll talk about the website.
00:28:44.000 --> 00:28:48.400
The app makes it easier because it's a lot of click button and it's to the next thing.
00:28:48.559 --> 00:28:57.200
But when you have so many options and if you don't understand strategy, this can feel like a lot.
00:28:57.359 --> 00:29:05.440
So let's just say I'm doing morning because I'm setting this before I get to the park, right?
00:29:05.599 --> 00:29:07.119
So this is when I'm at home.
00:29:07.279 --> 00:29:09.920
I want to modify that booking because I got a 10 a.m.
00:29:10.079 --> 00:29:10.400
booking.
00:29:10.559 --> 00:29:12.640
I would like to push it at nine.
00:29:12.720 --> 00:29:13.599
And you know what?
00:29:13.839 --> 00:29:18.400
This actually would be a great instance in where maybe I don't want to set it at morning.
00:29:18.559 --> 00:29:23.680
I want to set it at only before, you know, 10 a.m.
00:29:24.000 --> 00:29:25.519
Because I already have a 10 a.m.
00:29:25.759 --> 00:29:26.079
time.
00:29:26.240 --> 00:29:29.039
So I may click only earlier than 10 a.m.
00:29:29.359 --> 00:29:35.359
to ensure that I get a time that is before 10 because that is my goal.
00:29:35.599 --> 00:29:37.440
Then I would hit create search.
00:29:37.680 --> 00:29:43.519
That search would be created, and then it literally would show up on the searches.
00:29:43.680 --> 00:29:48.720
So at the top of your wait magic, you have searches, plans, friends, and parties.
00:29:48.880 --> 00:29:51.039
And this now is in the searches.
00:29:51.200 --> 00:29:53.279
So you know it's an active search.
00:29:53.440 --> 00:29:56.480
And it will say searching on there.
00:29:56.640 --> 00:29:59.200
When it's paused, it will say paused.
00:29:59.440 --> 00:30:04.000
Then you actually can also, like, let's say you don't need this search anymore.
00:30:04.160 --> 00:30:09.119
There is a pause button you can hit there, there's an edit button, and there's even a delete button.
00:30:10.079 --> 00:30:16.799
So now you're going to continue setting these up before you get to Disney.
00:30:17.119 --> 00:30:23.680
So that way it can continue to try to modify the reservations to the times that you want.
00:30:24.000 --> 00:30:28.559
So this is all your pre-planning for the trip.
00:30:28.720 --> 00:30:36.640
As it modifies, you should take the worksheets that you've done and also modify that so that you can continue to tweak your plans.
00:30:36.880 --> 00:30:52.000
Now, you also have to remember from the video if you have dining experiences, those can sometimes push away times that will be shown available to your party because they always want to have kind of a buffer around dining experiences.
00:30:52.160 --> 00:31:04.160
So if you're someone where the rides are more important, especially in the morning, you may not want to book any character meals or breakfasts that are table service on days where you're going to the park.
00:31:04.400 --> 00:31:15.440
You may want to make sure those are dinners or just wait to do those on rest days anyway, especially if you have a priority enough to use this during your park days.
00:31:15.599 --> 00:31:17.920
Maybe a table service meal in the morning.
00:31:18.000 --> 00:31:19.359
It's something that you don't want.
00:31:19.440 --> 00:31:26.640
Because if you can maximize your time in the morning, then you can get on all these rides and have a relaxing type of day.
00:31:26.799 --> 00:31:35.279
So this is part one of your setups is correcting all of your morning rides and you know when you want to get on them.
00:31:35.599 --> 00:31:44.000
Part two of setting up before you get to Disney is now looking at your goals in terms of ride goals.
00:31:44.079 --> 00:31:48.079
So you know how I say it's you set like eight priorities.
00:31:48.240 --> 00:31:58.400
A realistic Disney Day consists of eight different experiences where it's either rides, table service and rides, or parades, shows, rides, and table service.
00:31:58.559 --> 00:32:02.720
I can always guarantee you that you will at least experience eight of those things.
00:32:02.960 --> 00:32:05.680
Will you experience more in a realistic Disney day?
00:32:05.759 --> 00:32:06.480
Yes, you will.
00:32:06.559 --> 00:32:15.599
But I don't want you to feel so rushed and put everything down as a priority that you have a list of 16 things and then you have a miserable day.
00:32:15.759 --> 00:32:28.000
So look at those eight priority items and then decide: okay, we want to also get on, you know, frozen again, test track, because we're hoping to rope drop those.
00:32:28.240 --> 00:32:34.400
Then, you know, we want to ride Figment, Soren, Living with the Land, all of that stuff.
00:32:34.640 --> 00:32:43.680
And you're going to start building your day in terms of approximate windows and times that you want to be at those things.
00:32:43.920 --> 00:32:52.160
So for me, what I would do if I know, let's say weight magic got that mission space and now it's at 9:15.
00:32:52.799 --> 00:32:58.720
And I want to leave open two Lightning Lane availability spots.
00:32:58.799 --> 00:33:06.799
So let's say, you know, I have the Remy booked in the evening because we're going to spend the early evening over on that side of the world showcase.
00:33:07.200 --> 00:33:11.599
But in the morning, we're hoping to rope drop, you know, test track.
00:33:11.680 --> 00:33:16.319
So we're going to leave Frozen to Chance and hope that it books it in the morning.
00:33:16.559 --> 00:33:18.559
I am only going to book Mission Space.
00:33:18.640 --> 00:33:27.680
So that way I have two Lightning Lane spots available because, especially at EFCON, I know we'll be able to get multiple rides a little bit easier.
00:33:27.839 --> 00:33:33.119
So I'm not just going to book another ride at the time of booking.
00:33:33.359 --> 00:33:38.799
So in Wait Magic, I'm going to set up searches for later in the day.
00:33:38.960 --> 00:33:42.240
So I'm going to set up Frozen for the morning.
00:33:42.400 --> 00:33:45.920
So I want to make sure we get it in that morning window.
00:33:46.079 --> 00:33:52.799
So I set frozen up for that, knowing we are going to rope drop test track and we're hoping to get through test track.
00:33:52.960 --> 00:33:58.559
Now, I also am going to set up a search for test track because my kids love test track.
00:33:58.640 --> 00:34:00.720
And if we can get it again in the morning, great.
00:34:00.799 --> 00:34:04.960
And if we can, I'll just delete it and know we at least got on it one time.
00:34:05.519 --> 00:34:22.559
Then I'm going to set up a search maybe for Soren in the early afternoon because my plan is, you know, we'll finish this side of the world showcase, get on Guardians, Test Track, Frozen, and Mission Space.
00:34:22.800 --> 00:34:28.960
We're going to walk over to Sunshine Seasons for lunch around 11:30-ish, 12 o'clock.
00:34:29.119 --> 00:34:32.320
So hopefully we can land a Soren in the afternoon.
00:34:32.480 --> 00:34:36.719
So I'm going to preset Soren for the afternoon.
00:34:36.960 --> 00:34:42.239
I'm not going to put Living with the Land in yet because I know I have other priority rides.
00:34:42.400 --> 00:34:50.960
And because of availability, I bet Living with the Land will have a little bit more availability, except for at Christmas time.
00:34:51.199 --> 00:34:59.920
That's the only time that Living with the Land kind of shrinks down with availability because it has the glimmering lights and everyone loves the glimmering lights.
00:35:00.239 --> 00:35:04.800
But outside of Christmas, I wouldn't put Living with the Land in there.
00:35:05.039 --> 00:35:17.679
During the holiday season of Christmas, so like November 6th ish until the end of the year, I may put Living with the Land in there for the afternoon because I know how popular that ride is during the holidays.
00:35:17.840 --> 00:35:22.079
However, living with the land is much better at night during Christmas.
00:35:22.159 --> 00:35:23.360
So that's just my little tip.
00:35:23.519 --> 00:35:30.079
It still looks cute during the day, but if you want to see the glimmering lights, you need to really ride it in the evening time.
00:35:30.400 --> 00:35:31.679
But I digress.
00:35:31.840 --> 00:35:33.519
Let's say I put that in there.
00:35:33.840 --> 00:35:40.639
I still need to make sure I'm managing the correct times that I'm putting in the searches.
00:35:40.800 --> 00:35:43.440
You don't want to just put all the searches in on any time.
00:35:43.599 --> 00:35:46.159
That doesn't make sense because you don't want to write it anytime.
00:35:46.239 --> 00:35:55.599
And you don't want the only after only before this time and only after this time until your day is pretty much done.
00:35:55.840 --> 00:36:04.639
When your day is done and you've accomplished all of the priority things on your list, then you could really start using those to get on multiple rides.
00:36:04.800 --> 00:36:07.280
You also don't want to be running all over the park.
00:36:07.360 --> 00:36:14.320
With Epcot being a circle, if you put any time, you could be at Frozen and then get a Soren, and then you're having a walk a mile.
00:36:14.400 --> 00:36:16.639
And that does not, that's not fun.
00:36:16.960 --> 00:36:20.239
So you want to be really specific about the windows of time.
00:36:20.320 --> 00:36:36.559
And that's where having that paper itinerary breaking up the time slots for you would be really helpful because you're trying to guesstimate about how long you're going to be in each specific area and you're going to correlate your weight magic booking times to those windows.
00:36:36.800 --> 00:36:39.679
So this is the beautiful thing about weight magic.
00:36:39.840 --> 00:36:44.320
So you've set all of this up and you are finally in the park.
00:36:44.480 --> 00:36:54.320
You've tapped into Spaceship Earth, and now you have gotten off of a ride and you've put all these parameters in to book these different selections.
00:36:54.480 --> 00:37:01.679
So you come out of the attraction, you look at your plans, and all of a sudden you see a notification that says, Oh, frozen is booked.
00:37:01.920 --> 00:37:09.360
This is when you start to be like, okay, this is worth it, because you didn't have to go into your My Disney experience and book it.
00:37:09.519 --> 00:37:10.639
Weight Magic did.
00:37:10.800 --> 00:37:14.159
And then this is the process that will continue throughout the day.
00:37:14.320 --> 00:37:20.159
You tap into a lightning lane, you have more lightning lanes available, and then the same thing happens.
00:37:20.400 --> 00:37:30.239
Weight magic continues working through your requests and creating new bookings for you that you did not have to go through my Disney experience and do.
00:37:30.400 --> 00:37:33.920
So instead of you constantly thinking, what should I book next?
00:37:34.159 --> 00:37:38.000
You've already done a lot of that thinking ahead of time.
00:37:38.239 --> 00:37:45.360
Put all of those requests into weight magic, and then you get to actually pay attention to your day.
00:37:45.519 --> 00:37:54.559
You're experiencing Disney in the moment, which is also why I say I don't want you to set up more than like five requests.
00:37:54.719 --> 00:38:06.079
You have your three that you already have for the morning, and then you put in like your extra five because weight magic doesn't get confused with how many things you have in there.
00:38:06.239 --> 00:38:08.639
It's booking all of your priorities.
00:38:08.800 --> 00:38:13.679
You maybe hop in like a 15-minute standby line or a 10-minute standby line.
00:38:13.760 --> 00:38:30.480
You'll especially experience this at Magic Kingdom when you have low demand rides, but you never feel like you're actually waiting in your day because Wait Magic is continuing to search for those lightning lanes and book them, and then you're living in the moment.
00:38:31.039 --> 00:38:41.440
So throughout the day, I want you guys to understand that you also have to go back and kind of clean up your request as they're done, or maybe as your needs change.
00:38:42.880 --> 00:38:46.239
You have to decide what do I still want?
00:38:46.480 --> 00:38:48.320
What don't I need anymore?
00:38:48.559 --> 00:38:56.559
Making sure you're turning off some search modifications because let's say that you put a write in and the wait was like five minutes and you don't really need to do it again.
00:38:56.719 --> 00:38:59.039
You'll have to go back in and turn that off.
00:38:59.280 --> 00:39:00.639
Reassess your windows.
00:39:00.800 --> 00:39:02.079
Are these realistic?
00:39:02.320 --> 00:39:05.119
Is there something new that I want to add?
00:39:05.280 --> 00:39:09.920
Did weight magic already accomplish something that changes the rest of your strategy?
00:39:10.159 --> 00:39:18.719
So those are the times where you're going to have to tap back in, but it's really not that often because you've done all the pre-planning ahead of time.
00:39:18.880 --> 00:39:24.079
So that is the beautiful thing with being able to put all these selections in.
00:39:24.320 --> 00:39:33.199
Now, if you do run out of rides, you'll want to go back in and put more selections in so that hopefully you can get it.
00:39:33.360 --> 00:39:46.320
And then obviously there's Florida and weather, there's getting extra multi-experience passes, which again, if you don't know what I'm talking about with multi-experience passes, you need to go back and watch that lightning lane video.
00:39:46.400 --> 00:40:02.239
Because one of the great things about multi-experience passes is let's say it's raining outside or there's lightning and Big Thunder Mountain is down because that's an outside ride that stops functioning once lightning is like within 10 miles or something like that.
00:40:02.400 --> 00:40:10.719
You will get a multi-experience pass so that you can get on Big Thunder late later, but it also opens up that you can book another lightning lane.
00:40:10.880 --> 00:40:26.400
And when days like that have happened to me, we've gone to the point where we had literally seven lightning lanes because of the multi-experience passes, plus also the continuously booking of lightning lanes that you get after you get a multi-experience pass.
00:40:26.559 --> 00:40:36.079
So that's another benefit of having something like weight magic constantly booking because it's already picking up when that multi-experience pass has been given to you.
00:40:36.159 --> 00:40:40.800
Because sometimes you don't even realize that you've gotten a multi-experience pass until later.
00:40:40.960 --> 00:40:44.800
But if you have alerts set, they're already booking for you.
00:40:45.039 --> 00:40:53.519
Okay, so before I make weight magic sound like it's going to solve every lightning lane problem you've ever had, I do want to be really clear about something.
00:40:53.760 --> 00:40:56.320
Weight magic cannot create availability.
00:40:56.480 --> 00:41:05.199
So if Remy is gone for the day and there's absolutely no lightning lanes available, weight magic cannot magically make Remy lightning lanes appear.
00:41:05.440 --> 00:41:15.039
It's called weight magic because it's actually doing the magic, but it cannot create anything that is not available.
00:41:15.280 --> 00:41:29.119
So if it is just one of those days at the park where everything is breaking down, it's just a rough day, which does occasionally happen at Disney, it's going to keep searching for availability, but it's not going to be able to create it.
00:41:29.280 --> 00:41:37.760
What I don't want is for anyone listening to think, okay, I'm going to pay for weight magic, and now I'm guaranteed to get every single lightning lane I want.
00:41:37.920 --> 00:41:38.880
Absolutely not.
00:41:39.039 --> 00:41:47.760
If I tell you wait, if I tell weight magic that I want Remy between one and two, and that availability never comes up, you're not getting Remy between one and two.
00:41:47.920 --> 00:41:49.760
You need to change the availability.
00:41:49.920 --> 00:41:53.840
That's why sometimes those limited windows, I don't think, are the best.
00:41:54.000 --> 00:41:58.559
You want like a broader time range or like a frame of at least three hours.
00:41:58.800 --> 00:42:04.159
It can only work with the inventory that Disney is actually making available.
00:42:04.400 --> 00:42:08.639
I also want to point out that weight magic is not necessarily faster than you.
00:42:08.880 --> 00:42:22.960
There are times where maybe if you have the app open and you're sitting there refreshing my Disney experience and a great lightning link pops up at that exact second, you grab it before weight magic does because again, weight magic is searching the same way you do.
00:42:23.119 --> 00:42:25.440
So it's a race to the finish.
00:42:25.599 --> 00:42:33.119
The same way with dining alerts, how I always say that I set multiple different companies because sometimes ones are faster than others.
00:42:33.440 --> 00:42:35.199
This is the exact same thing.
00:42:35.440 --> 00:42:39.119
But here's the thing I don't want to do that all day.
00:42:39.199 --> 00:42:43.760
I don't want to refresh all day, the same way I don't want to check on dining alerts.
00:42:44.000 --> 00:42:50.159
So I know how to refresh, I know how to modify, I know how to play the Lightning Lane game.
00:42:50.320 --> 00:42:53.679
Obviously, I've been using Lightning Lane since its inception.
00:42:54.000 --> 00:43:04.480
I absolutely have spent like Disney days doing it on days where I didn't have this, or maybe if I was just stopping by, but I just don't necessarily want to do it.
00:43:04.719 --> 00:43:11.440
I don't want to walk through the world showcase with my family staring at my phone because I'm trying to move Remy up.
00:43:11.519 --> 00:43:12.800
That's just the reality.
00:43:12.960 --> 00:43:16.559
And that's where I see the value in things like weight magic.
00:43:16.719 --> 00:43:22.719
I'm not paying for this, or I'm not paying for weight magic because it has a secret stash of lightning lanes.
00:43:22.880 --> 00:43:28.400
Like I've reiterated that so many times over this podcast, but I am paying for automation.
00:43:28.559 --> 00:43:41.920
I'm paying for someone else to keep looking while I'm eating around the world, while I'm riding another ride, while I'm taking a kid to the bathroom for the 15th time, or I just want to spend the time with my family.
00:43:42.079 --> 00:43:45.199
So sometimes it's going to get exactly what I asked for.
00:43:45.360 --> 00:43:49.280
Sometimes it's going to find something better than what I already had.
00:43:49.360 --> 00:43:51.519
And then sometimes it's not going to work at all.
00:43:51.679 --> 00:43:54.480
And that's just the reality of lightning lane availability.
00:43:54.719 --> 00:43:59.679
Even if you were someone who was on their phone 247, you probably could not do what weight.
00:44:00.239 --> 00:44:01.039
Magic is doing.
00:44:01.280 --> 00:44:06.000
So, as always, I want everyone to go into this with realistic expectations.
00:44:06.239 --> 00:44:13.679
Weight Magic is a tool and it's something that will take some of the work off of you, but it's not guaranteeing you anything.
00:44:13.840 --> 00:44:17.440
And at the end of the day, Disney still controls the inventory.
00:44:22.400 --> 00:44:26.480
Personally, that is what I'm paying for when I get a service like this.
00:44:27.039 --> 00:44:36.960
So let's talk about using Weight Magic from the website because for a long time, when they released this, we had to use it from the website.
00:44:37.199 --> 00:44:41.920
The biggest tip on that is to set it as like your home or main page.
00:44:42.079 --> 00:44:47.840
So every time you open Safari or Google, whatever site that you're using, it pops up first.
00:44:48.159 --> 00:44:53.840
And then it kind of functions like the app, but I don't think it does.
00:44:54.159 --> 00:44:57.280
So a lot of people are like, oh, then you treat it like an app.
00:44:57.360 --> 00:45:00.000
No, it still feels very much like a website.
00:45:00.159 --> 00:45:10.480
And so I don't love using it on the website on my phone, but you still will set up your attractions the same way.
00:45:10.719 --> 00:45:12.639
It's just not clean.
00:45:12.880 --> 00:45:21.360
And I, if you read the blog, I'll show two pictures side by side of what it looks like on the website versus the app.
00:45:21.519 --> 00:45:23.840
The app is definitely more user-friendly.
00:45:23.920 --> 00:45:28.960
So if you can download the app and use it that way, it would be much better for you.
00:45:29.039 --> 00:45:31.199
I think you would enjoy the experience.
00:45:31.519 --> 00:45:38.159
But during, but if you're using the website on your phone, it feels very much like a website.
00:45:38.239 --> 00:45:41.119
And you know, like spacing is weird on those.
00:45:41.280 --> 00:45:44.239
Sometimes you have to zoom in to see things on it.
00:45:44.400 --> 00:45:54.559
And that's why I also like to set it up on a desktop because setting it up on your phone is just a pain to do that, especially if you're using the website.
00:45:54.800 --> 00:46:03.519
But to create a search, you'll still go through all of the same type of presets, finding the ride and doing all that.
00:46:03.679 --> 00:46:07.119
And then you would create the search.
00:46:07.280 --> 00:46:12.400
Now, the other thing I don't like about using the website is it bounces like when you use it.
00:46:12.480 --> 00:46:18.719
Like with the app, each of the different phases are just like set because it's in an app.
00:46:18.960 --> 00:46:24.320
When you're on a website, you know, like the screen moves, it zooms in and zooms out.
00:46:24.480 --> 00:46:26.559
And so I don't love it.
00:46:26.719 --> 00:46:31.599
It's still the same way to use it as the app kind of.
00:46:31.760 --> 00:46:36.159
You will still be able to maneuver it with all the details I gave you on this podcast.
00:46:36.400 --> 00:46:42.960
But I'm telling you, it's worth downloading test flight and getting the beta version so that you can use that.
00:46:43.119 --> 00:46:47.840
If you pay for three data with the membership, also remember you don't have the ads.
00:46:48.000 --> 00:46:58.960
So I'm glad they changed that because I remember when I used it the first time and I was using it as a website, the ads were killing me because I was like, I just pay for this.
00:46:59.119 --> 00:47:02.480
And to use Weight Magic, there's still all these ads everywhere.
00:47:02.800 --> 00:47:12.079
So when you pay for the membership now, the ads are gone, which is nice, which makes it a lot more user-friendly if you're just using it as a website on your phone.
00:47:12.400 --> 00:47:23.760
But I still think it's worth downloading the test flight to download the beta version of the app, especially because you're doing all of that setup at home.
00:47:24.559 --> 00:47:30.639
So the bottom line or the question everyone's asking is so is Weight Magic worth it?
00:47:30.880 --> 00:47:32.239
Obviously, I think it is.
00:47:32.400 --> 00:47:42.800
I think anything that's going to make your Disney day easier is worth considering, especially if you're willing to put in the work to understand Lightning Lane, build a strategy before you get there.
00:47:43.119 --> 00:47:47.679
Use the resources that I have given you to be able to make your days easier.
00:47:47.920 --> 00:47:53.039
And I do want to point out that I haven't given you the full Lightning Lane strategy in this episode.
00:47:53.199 --> 00:48:08.320
We've talked about priorities because you need to understand those to use weight magic, but we haven't gone through sellout order, attraction popularity, what you should book first, what you shouldn't book first, and how I would actually build a full lightning lane day.
00:48:08.639 --> 00:48:12.320
I have lightning lane videos where I go much deeper into that.
00:48:12.480 --> 00:48:20.880
I talk about that on Instagram, and I have podcast episodes that break down individual parks because weight magic isn't the strategy.
00:48:20.960 --> 00:48:22.639
And I really want that to be clear.
00:48:22.800 --> 00:48:25.920
It's a tool that helps you execute a strategy.
00:48:26.480 --> 00:48:37.119
You still need to know what attractions are important to you, which ones are harder to get, and what makes sense for you and your family or your friends, whoever you're going to the park with.
00:48:37.280 --> 00:48:42.719
And if you're willing to do that work, then yes, I absolutely think weight magic is worth it for you.
00:48:42.880 --> 00:48:45.920
You just have to keep your expectations realistic.
00:48:46.159 --> 00:48:51.519
It isn't a guarantee that you can get impossible lightning lanes.
00:48:51.840 --> 00:48:54.800
It can't create availability that isn't there.
00:48:55.039 --> 00:49:03.920
And there may be times when somebody manually refreshes my Disney experience and happens to grab something before weight magic does, and that's okay.
00:49:04.159 --> 00:49:09.679
For me, the value is not that weight magic somehow has better access.
00:49:09.840 --> 00:49:28.000
It's definitely that you're not constantly looking for the rides, looking on your phones, and you can pre-plan your strategy before you even get to the park because you've done all the legwork, entered in, all the wait times or wait windows that you want rights to pop in.
00:49:28.079 --> 00:49:30.000
I'm paying for convenience.
00:49:30.159 --> 00:49:36.559
I'm paying for someone to do the work that I've been doing or carrying every Disney trip.
00:49:36.719 --> 00:49:41.039
So I'm basically handing over what I would do to someone else.
00:49:41.199 --> 00:49:49.280
And especially when I'm traveling with four kids and I'm already managing everyone's needs and what we're eating and who's hungry, who needs to go to the bathroom.
00:49:49.519 --> 00:50:03.760
And with my multi-generational trips coming up and knowing that weight magic also allows me to have 20 people on it, unlike Standby Skipper, which is limited to 12, that takes a lot of stress off of me.
00:50:04.000 --> 00:50:10.400
And speaking of that multi-generational trip, I will create more categories that are so useful.
00:50:10.559 --> 00:50:15.599
So, like if the grandparents want to take the littles, I'll have a grandparent and little care category.
00:50:15.840 --> 00:50:21.840
The adult kids want to go all ride something together and leave all the kids with the grandparents, I'll have that category.
00:50:22.079 --> 00:50:31.360
So there is a lot of strategy that can be used ahead of time to pre-plan those days to take the load off of the planner.
00:50:31.519 --> 00:50:40.480
So I'm here to tell you again: learn Lightning Lane, have a strategy, know your priorities, and then let weight magic do the rest.
00:50:40.800 --> 00:50:43.360
For me, this is absolutely worth it.
00:50:43.519 --> 00:50:45.840
I am giving it a 10 out of 10.
00:50:46.079 --> 00:50:49.679
It is a little bit more complicated than Standby Skipper.
00:50:49.840 --> 00:50:50.880
You know how my brain works.
00:50:50.960 --> 00:50:58.239
So I'm always wondering can I teach this to my Disney fam so that they can execute it easily?
00:50:58.400 --> 00:51:02.880
I'm hoping that this podcast has really broken it down for you.
00:51:02.960 --> 00:51:08.079
And I hope the blog that is attached to it also breaks it down further.
00:51:08.320 --> 00:51:12.880
I will add pictures to the blog to show you how things work.
00:51:13.199 --> 00:51:25.360
And so I hope the combination of those and then doing the legwork of going through planning my different park days will definitely help you in having a more successful Disney trip.
00:51:25.599 --> 00:51:30.400
I know this was a long podcast, even getting some long ones from me lately.
00:51:30.639 --> 00:51:33.360
But I hope that this gives you all the information you need.
00:51:33.440 --> 00:51:36.639
I know you have a lot of places you can go for information.
00:51:36.800 --> 00:51:39.599
So I appreciate you spending this time with me.
00:51:39.760 --> 00:51:43.599
And I hope you have a magical rest of your day.
