OM DENNE EPISODE
In May 1995, billionaire Larry Hillblom—co-founder of DHL and one of the most eccentric tycoons of his era—vanished when his vintage seaplane went down in the Pacific near the Northern Mariana Islands. Two bodies were recovered from the crash. Hillblom’s was not.
What followed was chaos: inheritance battles worth hundreds of millions, DNA tests proving children scattered across Asia, and whispers that Hillblom himself had orchestrated his own disappearance. Did he truly die that day, lost to the ocean’s depths? Or did he stage one of the most elaborate vanishings of the modern age, escaping scandal and living in secret under a new identity?
In this two-hour investigative episode, we examine the man behind DHL, the crash that shocked the Pacific, the lawsuits that exposed his secret life, and the theories that refuse to fade nearly three decades later. From evidence lost at sea to alleged sightings across Asia, this is the story of wealth, secrecy, and a mystery that still divides experts today.
