OM DENNE EPISODE
Between 180,000 and 300,000 Victorian children and young people aged five to 25 live with or support someone experiencing mental illness. Many never see themselves as carers.
A new campaign, Make Young Carers Visible, led by Tandem and Satellite Foundation through Victoria's Statewide Young Carer Network, is calling for greater awareness, earlier identification and funded, age-appropriate support for young carers. The Wire's Jon King speaks with Merewyn Foran, CEO of Tandem, and Nadine
Bartholomeusz-Raymond, CEO of Satellite Foundation, about hidden young carers, what carers need from the next Victorian Government, and why listening is the first step anyone can take.
